It is about a pony named Azure Shadow, who was... chaotic. Born with magical powers she wishes to make ponies suffer, as she ruins their world, but there may be someone else to stop her... Who will win?
A pony who had a rough childhood, is now taking over Equestria, a pony named Azure Shadow. She had, unique abilities, that made her unstoppable. The time period of this story is before villains (other than Nightmare Moon) had been defeated. This story also combines other fanfictions, of the My Little Pony universe.
It was a stormy day in Equestria, a Pegasus filly had been born in Ponyville.
"What should we name her?" said a dark-colored Pegasus mare with a blue mane and red eyes.
Her name was Obsidia.
"How about... Azure Shadow?" said a Pegasus stallion with a blue coat, green mane, and purple eyes.
His name was Sky Chaser.
"Azure Shadow it is."
Suddenly a blue lightning bolt went through an open window on the roof and struck Azure Shadow. Her eyes glowed blue then faded.
"Oh No! Is she okay?!" Sky Chaser shouted.
Both the parents had a worried look on their faces, though Azure Shadow had been alright, as if untouched.
"Hopefully this storm passes through quickly..." Obsidia said looking at her daughter.
Little did they know Azure had been gifted powers...
Azure became a difficult child, as she used her new powers for destruction.
"Quick, she's in the kitchen!" Obsidia said flying as quickly as she can.
Azure teleported away before her parents could catch her.
"How did she even get this magic anyway!" Sky Chaser said.
Azure had used her magic to fly, as her wings could not lift her yet. Her parents had kept her powers a secret as fear of what ponies may do to their child.
It had been 5 years and Azure Shadow had better control of her powers. It was the first day she would attend school.
"Okay, it's time for your first day of school," Obsidia said.
"Now what are you to do?" Sky Chaser said.
"Not to use my powers..."
"Yes, and?"
"Be nice."
"Yes, come now"
"Goodbye! Have a good day at school." Both the parents said.
"Bye!"
"Hello, new students! I am your teacher, Cherilee!" "Class, please introduce yourselves."
A yellow unicorn began to speak.
"I'm Mystic Beat."
A light brown earth pony spoke just after her.
"And I'm Blitz!"
The rest of the class introduced themself, except for one filly, at the back of the class.
"Is that everyone?" Cherilee said.
"She didn't say anything."
A pony pointed to a white Pegasus filly with a pinkish mane.
"O-Oh! I~ I-I'm..."
"Yes?" Cherilee said.
"I'm S-Sugar Song..." she spoke in a quiet voice.
"Any pony else? No? Okay class time to begin."
Cherilee had taught the class, then it was time for recess. Azure had walked over to the playground when she heard a pony beginning to cry.
"What do you think you're doing!" Blitz said. "This is MY swings! Every pony knows that!"
"Oh, I- I just thought that I could..." Sugar Song muttered.
"Huh? And what do you have there?"
Blitz saw she had cookies.
"Give me those!" he snatched the treats.
"Hey! That's my snack!"
"Haha! Not anymore!"
"Leave her alone!"
Azure suddenly stepped in.
"Or what?" Blitz said.
"You do not know the power of a Pegasus, so give her the cookies, before you get hurt."
she began to fly.
*Gulp*"You know what, take the cookies just please don't hurt me!" Blitz said.
"Hey, t- thanks" "Azure, was it?" Sugar song said. "Here we can share."
Sugar song handed her some cookies and they chatted until recess was over.
"So? How was school?" Obsidia said.
"I made a new friend"
"That's wonderful! Who?"
"A Pegasus named Sugar Song."
"Ugh! Don't trust her Azure. Her mother is not a kind pony."
"Why? What did her mother do?"
"Let's just say... she is the reason we live in Ponyville"
Because there was no one to teach her Azure Shadow practiced her magic in her garden. Every day she got better and better. It was Azure's next day of school.
"Oh! Hey Azure!" Sugar Song said.
"Hi..." "Why the long face?"
"Well, my mom said to stay away from you..."
"What? No! But you're my only friend!"
Azure felt bad for Sugar Song.
"Hey, we can still be friends, I'll just hide it from my mom."
She smiled again.
"Yay!"
As they had been friends, they would sometimes come to each other's houses to play.
One day, Azure was practicing her magic in her garden, when Sugar Song had flown over and saw her.
"Oh! There's Azure!" Sugar thought.
She was about to fly down when Azure had used her magic on some flowers, turning them into candy canes with marshmallow petals.
"Huh?" Sugar thought.
She flew down and greeted Azure.
"Y- You have magic?!" Sugar Song said.
"Um, yes..." "How!? When?!"
"I- I'm not sure... I think I had it when I was born."
Suddenly Sugar Song had an idea.
"Hey! Maybe you could use your powers to turn your HOUSE into candy!!!"
Sugar Song got excited at the sound of sugar.
"Oooh! Yes! That sounds like a great idea! "
Azure tried to turn her house into candy, but it didn't work. She tried again and *poof* her house was made of chocolate!
"Ah! What the!?" Sky Chaser said.
"Azure Shadow!! Come here now!" Obsidia said.
*gulp* "I'm in trouble, aren't I..." Azure thought.
"Azure... why did you turn this house into CHOCOLATE?" said Sky Chaser
"Uh... surprise...?"
"Why Azure?!"
"Uh... I thought... it would be funny, yeah..." she said nervously.
"Well, it's not." "Now apologize," Obsidia said.
"I'm Sorry" "Good! Now don't do it again okay."
Azure turned the house back to normal as she walked away.
Gasp! "Azure, look," Obsidia said with a smile.
Gasp! "My cutie mark! My cutie mark!" Azure said trotting in place cheerfully.
It was a teal swirl with a white spiral in the center, with other spirals around it.
"When did this happen?" Obsidia said.
"It must have happened when I turned the house into candy! Hehe! I guess my talent is making candy!"
Obsidia's heart dropped a beat...
"Uh... how about you go play now hmm?" Obsidia said nervously.
Azure quickly ran outside to tell Sugar Song, who was still in the garden.
"Um, we need to talk..." Obsidia said to Sky Chaser.
"Agreed..." he said.
They quickly walked into an empty room and shut the door so Azure won't hear them.
"This is BAD!" Obsidia said.
"Yes! "What are we going to do!" Sky Chaser said.
"I mean her talent is... her magic!?"
"Her talent must be... chaos..." he lowered his voice.
It had been 2 years later, and Azure and Sugar Song were the best of friends. They hung out all the time in school. All of the ponies in the class had their Cutie Marks by now. Mystic Beat had a music note with a moon cutie mark, she was good at making party music, Blitz had a gear cutie mark, he was good at inventing, Sugar Song had a cupcake cutie mark, so she was good at baking. Azure and Sugar had been able to keep their friendship a secret, until one day. They were walking out of class and their parents had got there early... seeing them playing together.
"Uhm... Sugar Song what are you doing with this ahem, filly?" said Sugar Song's mother.
"Um... she- she's my friend" Sugar Song replied.
"Friend! She is just like her mother! A traitor!"
"What's going on here?!" Obsidia said. "Oh Great, what are you doing here Ocean Dawn?"
Obsidia said to Sugar Songs' mother.
"Uhm, it's more like what are YOU doing here? You backstabber!" Ocean Dawn said.
"What! YOU were the one to break our friendship!" Obsidia said.
"Let's go," Azure said.
They tried to sneak away, but Obsidia spotted them.
"And where are you going?!" "You're not getting out of this! I'm not letting you be friends with such unruly ponies!" Obsidia said pointing her wing at Ocean Dawn.
"Ugh! Unruly!"
The fillies wanted to break up the fight.
"Every Pony STOP!" Azure said. "Fighting isn't going to solve the problem."
"Whatever" Ocean said. "Come Sugar Song let's go!"
"Mom, why did you come here, I can walk home." Sugar said.
"Because we're moving today."
"What! Where!?" Sugar said upsettingly.
"In the Crystal Empire! We will never have to see their faces again!"
"But!"
"No But's!" Ocean said trotting faster away.
"Mom, why do you have a problem with Sugar Songs family?" Azure said.
"Fine, I'll tell you. As foals we both were friends. But one day she had decided to turn on me, sending me letters of hatred, and stopped talking to me in person. " Obsidia said
"But one day, she had decided to begin hanging out with another friend, she also put MY secrets in the newspaper! I never told her secrets despite how much I had wanted to." Ocean Dawn said telling the same story to Sugar Song.
The next day Azure Shadow got a letter from Sugar Song, saying she abandoned her! This broke Azure's heart, as they were the best of friends. Blitz saw that Sugar Song had not been with her anymore and bullied her. Azure became sad; and missed her old friend, who now was a traitor.
Azure had been 10 years old now. Her magic had been better, much better, though not enough to heal herself or defend herself from LARGE creatures. She had snuck out of her home to take a walk in the Everfree Forest. She had accidentally walked too far into the forest; she had almost gotten lost. Suddenly she heard some ponies talking.
"Daddy, when will we take over?" Screwball said, who was the same age as Azure.
Azure glanced over and saw Discord. Not knowing what he was she was intimidated at first but continued to watch.
"Now my dear, we must wait until those ponies are off-guard. Why they have forgotten about us by now!" Discord said with laughter in his voice. "And this time... we will win!"
They both laughed, and Azure had left.
The next day Ponyville seemed weird... The clouds were pink and poured chocolate milk. Plants began to turn into candy...
"Azure whatever you're doing STOP!" Obsidia said.
"I'm not doing this!" Azure said remembering Screwball and Discord in the forest. Gasp! "They have magic?!" Azure thought.
Suddenly the two came out bursting in laughter.
"Screwball my dear, that was genius!" Discord said.
"Discord!?" Twilight said.
The rest of the mane 6 were by Twilight's side with their elements.
"How'd he even gets out?" the mane 6 all thought.
They do not know about Screwball. Azure watched as the others fled.
"You'd better turn Ponyville back to normal or-" Twilight got cut off.
"Or what? I'm not playing games with you Twilight, not this time." Discord said as he removed their elements.
"Hey! Give those back you big meanie!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Oh! And don't forget princess pretty's little horn." Discord said and took her horn.
Screwball laughed as the two teleported away, spreading more chaos. Azure knew she shouldn't be laughing but she found the chaos funny. All of Equestria had chaos, except for the Crystal Empire. Somehow, its magic was able to keep it safe. Azure had also felt confused, she had not known who these ponies were.
"Girls, find the elements. I need to find a unicorn strong enough to bring my magic back." Twilight said. "Good Luck!"
The mane 6 split apart trying to make their way through the chaos.
Azure had decided to follow Discord and Screwball, using her magic to hide.
"What shall we do next?" Discord said.
"Ooh! How about the grass into... Porcupine quills!" Screwball said using her magic.
Quickly a pony slid on the soapy roads and onto the quills. He quickly ran away before no more than 4 could hit him.
"Flying cakes!" "Speedy turtles!" "Candy houses!" Teleporting Poison Joke!" Screwball said as she turned everything into chaos.
Suddenly Azure (who was invisible) slipped on the soapy road and into some bushes. They turned around.
"Huh?" Screwball said.
"Some pony is here..." Discord said as he had undone her invisibility spell.
Azure ran away as quickly as she could using her wings to go faster. They looked at her confused.
"Was it just me or did that pony have wings? How could she have done the spell?" Discord said.
On the other hand, the mane 6 went to the tree of harmony, and found the elements, well all but Twilight's crown. Twilight had visited Canterlot, to see the princesses, but they weren't there! Twilight continued to roam the castle and went to the colored glass windows. She saw one that had her in it and her Crown! Twilight tapped the glass and magically she got her horn and her element. She ran to the others to put an end to this once and for all.
"Your tyranny is over Discord!" Twilight shouted.
Discord turned around in surprise. Screwball left before they could see her. Discord had smiled, for he had a plan. They had used their elements against him, he turned to stone... They had tried to bring his statue back to the Canterlot Gardens, but when they tried to carry it, It Was Carboard!
"What!? Where did he go?!" Rainbow Dash shouted looking around.
"Why we need to find him don't we?!" Rarity said.
"No girls. We shall wait until he strikes again. Until then we must wear our elements at all times." Twilight responded.
Discord and Screwball had teleported away, and their chaos had to end.
Obsidia knocked on Azure's door. She didn't respond.
"I'm coming in!" Obsidia said.
Azure lay on her bed thinking.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Obsidia said to Azure.
"It's just that- well I miss Sugar Song..." Azure said grieving.
Obsidia paused, trying to hold in her anger about their family.
"W- Why? What happened?"
"Well, she left me for good... and her family moved away in hatred of ours...."
"Why those little- *sigh* if she did this, why does she still matter to you?" Obsidia said only getting angrier.
"Mom! She was my only friend... the only one on my side..." Azure lowered her voice again.
"I don't mean any offense but, she may have only been friends with you to betray you..." Obsidia said nervously.
"w-wait you mean she... Why that STUPID pony!!" "How could she?!" "Your right Mom, her family is pathetic."
"Y-yes but," Obsidia said getting worried as if she betrayed her daughter.
"Then I don't need her anymore," Azure said.
Obsidia had walked away, worried about what she had done. She did not like their family, but it seemed like she and Sugar Song were the best of friends, after all, she does not wish for Azure to be betrayed just as she had.
"So? How'd it go?" Sky Chaser said.
"Good, I suppose..." Obsidia said.
"Let's just leave her alone for now..." he said.
It had been 4 years later; Azure was now 14. Sadly, in her new school, Blitz was still there, bullying her... So far Azure had been having a bad day... She failed a test and had a rough morning. Blitz used this to his advantage. Every day he still teased her and was quite mean. By now Azure was mostly over Sugar Song's 'betrayal' Azure Shadow didn't have any friends, so she still thought about her from time to time. After school, she had gone on a walk in the Everfree. Her magic was powerful and so didn't care if she had gotten into danger. She wasn't scared to travel into the core of the forest, nor of the dangers that lie within it. Her parents still wish her to be careful in the forest, as they fear that one day she would pick a fight she can't win. Azure had still practiced her magic, she tested out new ideas and saw how far and how powerful her magic truly is... She discovered that she had been able to travel through time, and even freeze time. One day she had tried to use her magic, testing it on plants when suddenly she teleported somewhere. A place where everything was blank and white nothing but space. Azure's magic was powerful enough to create her dimension! A new space in the universe. She was confused at first, but then she realized something...
"W- where am I?" Azure thought "Hello! Any pony around?"
She had wandered around looking for any pony, or anything. All she saw was nothing but emptiness. She had gotten an idea, maybe she could make this new world into a place for just herself, only her and her magic. Quickly she thought of when Equestria was filled with chaos, then she made it like this. She laughed and smiled and made Equestria as she pleased.
Her parents had been wondering where she was.
"Maybe in the garden?" Sky Chaser said.
They saw Azure sitting near a tree, her eyes glowing and a blank expression on her face.
"Azure! Azure snap out of it!" Obsidia said.
No response. Eventually, they were able to get her out of it. Azure looked surprised as she was taken out of her land.
"Phew! She's okay!" Sky Chaser said.
"What happened?" Obsidia said.
"Oh, well I was testing my magic, and I kind of teleported into a different world," Azure said.
"Really? Your body was still here." Obsida said.
This left Azure confused.
"It's getting dark, we should head inside."
The next morning she had woken up early. She used her magic again, and she was back in her world.
"Perhaps, I am in... my mind." Azure wondered.
It still had chaos going on. She had left it just before her parents woke up. Then she went to school. Today, Blitz did not leave her alone, he teased her more than usual. By the time Azure left school she was angry, raged from the way he treated her. She went into her world and made a fake pony doll, ... She used all of the power she had in her magic to destroy it to release her anger. Other ponies had been mean to her as well, she wanted to get payback.
"Next time those 'ponies' come to Ponyville, I will join in, to drive the ponies crazy, for what they had done to me..." Azure said with a grin.
It had been a few years later, Azure was 16. She had very few spells she still needed to learn. Azure Shadow continued to use her magic in her world. Though, she began using it for destruction in her imaginary world.
"Haha! Look at those ponies running!" Azure said.
She loved the same type of chaos that Discord and Screwball liked, and so made her fantasy world similar to theirs. As time passed by she waited for them to overcome Equestria again, so she could join, laughing with all the chaos.
In the Everfree forest...
"Ugh! How long must we wait until these PONIES become off-guard?!" Screwball said impatiently.
"We'll have our time together soon enough, for now just wait. After all, good things come to those who wait, or in this case... something chaotic, something those ponies will NEVER forget!" Discord said.
Screwball chuckled.
"Oh, I can't wait! They will never see it coming!"
Later, Screwball became bored. She can't use magic as to not give away their location to the ponies. She tried teleporting into another dimension. *Poof* She looked around and saw chaos all around her. She chuckled at first, then heard another pony laughing. She turned around and saw Azure, dressed in a black cape that hid her face. Screwball realized she wasn't the one to make all this chaos.
"H- hello?" Screwball said.
Azure gasped.
"How did you get here?" Azure said. "Doesn't matter. You don't belong here."
"W- Wait! Who are you-"
but before she could finish she teleported Screwball back into Equestria.
"Now, where was I?" Azure said to herself looking at all the chaos around her.
"W- What just happened?" Screwball said to herself.
She tried to teleport back, but Azure had been keeping her out with her magic. She gave up and let out a sigh.
"But who was that pony?"
Since then, Azure had been writing letters to Screwball, which had no signature, to slowly guide them into takeover, and inform them about Equestria.
"Huh? What's this?"
Screwball noticed a letter on the ground. It says "Discord, and Screwball, I will be informing you on what is happening in Ponyville and when you may take over, when you do, you will see me soon. Twilight and the others are still well alert and wearing the elements. I will inform you when any changes have been made. "- no signature.
"Huh? Some pony on our side?" Screwball said.
She was quick to show it to Discord.
"Well, this is great and all, but how do we know it's not Twilight or some other pony trying to trick us?" Discord said.
"Don't worry, I checked." Screwball said.
She then summoned a scroll that Twilight wrote herself, to prove the handwriting is different.
"Hmm, perhaps we can trust this pony. But we must still be careful!" Discord said. "But, this can't be right?"
It had been a year later; Azure was now 17. Still after all these years, no sign of Sugar Song, not even letters. She had completely erased her from her memory, but deep inside she knows she is still her friend... Azure began having more free time over the years; however, she uses this time to practice magic, and spy on Twilight to report to Discord. She can sense that Ponyville is getting weaker. Their time will be soon. Azure completely spends her time to herself, spending time in her world of chaos is not enough for her, she wants the real world. If no pony is there to stop her in time, Equestria may live on, through their wrath...
"Still no sign of Discord girls..." Twilight said
"Aww! I loved his chocolate rain!" Pinkie Pie said.
They all glared at her.
"Perhaps he was just playing a game with us last time... to test us." Rarity said.
"Perhaps we are taking all these precautions for nothing..." Twilight said. "He still had strength when he left, he needed no time to recover." "Perhaps we should relax for a while, but first has any pony seen a sign of him?"
"My animals haven't seen him in the Everfree," Fluttershy said.
"No sign of him in Apple Achers" Applejack said.
The others shake their heads.
"Then let's just go back to the way things were, like nothing ever happened," Twilight said.
Azure was watching cheerfully in the bushes.
"It's time..." she mumbled to herself with a grin.
Now only time will tell what happens to Ponyville.
"Another letter." Discord said as if annoyed. "Perhaps it will have something interesting this time..."
It says "The mane 6 have put away their elements, they believe that nopony will be coming back, the time is now for chaos..."
"Hmm.. chaos?" Discord said with a smile on his face. "Just to make sure..."
Discord turned himself invisible and entered Ponyville. He found the mane 6 and saw them relaxing near a lake. He returned to the Everfree forest. Screwball was sleeping peacefully.
"Screwy, Screwy wake up!" Discord said.
"Huh? What's going on?" Screwball said.
"It is time my dear... the time for CHAOS!"
Screwball Jumped up in the excitement and chuckled.
"Those ponies will never see it coming!" she said.
They raced to Ponyville and didn't hesitate to use their magic. Azure looked around, then looked at Discord and smiled. She walked over to them, Un hesitantly.
"Hello," she said.
"Who are you?" Discord said.
"I am Azure Shadow."
"Wait.. were YOU that pony who was writing all those letters?"
She nodded.
", and I am here to join you," Azure said.
"How would you do that? It's not like YOU have any magic!" Screwball said with a grin.
"Oh but your wrong..." Azure said.
She then froze time, only the three of them can move. This caught Discord's attention.
"How do you have magic? Whatever... Let the trio of chaos thrive!" Discord said.
"Azure! Azure Shadow where are you!?" Obsidia shouted.
"Azure! Azure!" Sky Chaser said.
The two had been searching for almost an hour. They heard laughter in the distance and turned. There lay Azure, making chaos with Discord, and Screwball. Quickly they ran over to her, worried.
"Azure! Azure what are you doing!" Sky Chaser said.
Azure rolled her eyes.
"Oh great, it's you two," she said.
Screwball and Discord started to watch.
"Why Azure? Why are you doing this?..." Obsidia said, tears beginning to fill her eyes.
"Why? Why! Because no pony accepted me, that's why!" Azure said, with hatred in her heart. "Even my only friend betrayed me!" "If no pony will see me as their friend, then they will see me as their devil! And bring chaos to their world!"
"Azure! This isn't the way!" Obsidia said. "Please stop..."
Both of her parents now crying, and worried.
"I've heard enough of you!" Azure said.
She teleported her parents farther away.
"Now... back to chaos."
Discord and Screwball looked surprised, then smiled. But before they could use their magic-
"Discord!" Twilight said.
She paused then looked around, towards Screwball and Azure.
"Hey! Who are you two?!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Were Azure Shadow and Screwball, together with the three of us will rule your pathetic land!" Azure said.
The mane 6 knew that the elements could only be used on one creature at a time...
"Get Discord," Twilight said.
Discord could not escape in time... and he was now stone.
"Noo!" Screwball said, crying.
Quickly she teleported away before the spell hit her too. They turned to Azure... Her parents saw what was going to happen and quickly tried to run after her.
"You'll see me again!" Azure said then flew away, using her magic to fly faster.
Her parents watched her fly away. Azure knew she would come back, more powerful than ever...
