Sunset Shimmer is playing the latest Tirek’s Revenge game; (with a Queen Chrysalis DLC boss to boot). However; due to her constantly losing in the past, Sunset’s been getting a little bit testy lately… . And it seems to have made her friends slightly frightened of her.
What’s gonna happen when Sunset loses again… ? The answer that follows will be quite as destructive as it could get.
Sunset Shimmer and her pals are currently waiting in line at the mall for the new Tirek’s Revenge game… ; (with a Queen Chrysalis DLC to boot)!
Now; as anyone could’ve guessed; Sunset Shimmer and Fluttershy are apparently gamers. However… ; not just any gamers. They’ve been known to play together sometimes… . And also probably get into a few competitions against each other just for laughs.
However… ; what the gang doesn’t know is that Sunset Shimmer is known to get pretty frustrated for whenever she always loses… . Like for example; when Sunset and Twilight couldn’t win a game of either bullseye; or maybe even a game of chance at the carnival from roller coaster of friendship; I think… . But then again; usually people would’ve called that game rigged for some reason… .
Any who; Sunset and the others are currently walking out of the mall, and into the parking lot to find their own vehicles… ; (because most of the people there, including them; have either preordered it; or received a special order in which they could receive their games at the ready for when they get to the front of the register… ).
And so with that; the girls and Sunset are on their way to Sunset’s home; eager to try out that new game that she bought. However; what the girls don’t know is that Sunset is gonna have a crappy day… . Enjoy.
It’s a beautiful and sunny morning… . The birds are singing, the clouds are floating, Sunset Shimmer is doing some yoga stretches… . Wait what… ?
“And one… and two…” Sunset said as she’s doing some warmups and or stretches. Reason… ?
The reason is that Sunset Shimmer would occasionally do this whenever she would wake up in the morning. Why? Because of Rainbow Dash introducing it to her during their time at the music festival… .
Not just that; but also because she’s been feeling stressed lately from yesterday. Those people back at the mall can get really testy whenever there’s either a sale for something; or whenever there’s a new game released, and then every gamer in the Equestria Girls world would swarm in and try to beat the lines. So because of that; she’s meditating, or something else along the lines of it.
“Aaaahhhh… . This feels nice.” Sunset said while she’s relaxed. “This will most definitely help me keep my cool, and possibly help me win the game.”
Sunset is on the couch in the basement; taking count of the inventory that lies before her. Because after all; she can’t get her game on without snacks and drinks; right? Also; she’s making sure that her friends have some nice seats for when Sunset starts gaming.
Fluttershy is currently snuggling against a plush bear she’s holding, and then asks; “so? You think that you can beat the game?”
Sunset Shimmer chuckles, smirks, and then says; “I know I can beat this game. Just watch me!”
Fluttershy nodded, but then hid behind the plush bear that she’s hugging, and says; “just… don’t get too angry… if you start losing… . Please… ?”
Sunset Shimmer sighs, gets close to Fluttershy to pet her head, and then says; “relax… . I’ll be fine. And if I do rage quit or something, then feel free to use that shield over there.” she said as she’s pointing to a shield.
Curious; Fluttershy said; “oh…” and turned to Sunset to ask; “where’d you get it?”
Sunset shrugged off her friend’s question and replied; “not important…” before taking a seat on the couch; looking determined to beat the game.
“Okay…” Fluttershy said before meekly sitting right next to Sunset; hugging the plush teddy bear so tightly.
“Alright…” Sunset said with a determined face. “Let’s do this…” and used the controller to start the game.
Sunset Shimmer had just gotten past the more easier levels; when suddenly, she just arrived at the more harder levels… . How did she know… ? Simple.
“Oh no…” Sunset said as she’s now in a virtual dungeon filled with swarms of enemies.
Fluttershy puts a hand on Sunset’s shoulder with a determined look, and then says; “you got this dude…” but then giggled as to what in the world she just said.
Sunset chuckles also, and then says; “alright…” while looking back at the tv with a determined look. “Let’s do this!”
Just then; Sunset got past the first wave of enemies with no problem. She struggled at the second wave, but eventually got past that as well. However; when she reached the third wave… . She lost.
“What… ?” Sunset Shimmer said in sheer shock and disbelief. “I… . I lost?”
Fluttershy whimpers and hides her face with her arms; afraid that Sunset’s definitely gonna get into a rage now… .
Sunset growls with her vein throbbing in her forehead… but instead takes a deep breath to calm herself down instantly, and then uncovers Fluttershy from being hidden. Sunset then says; “look; how about we take a break, okay? Does that sound good?”
Unsure of whether she’s actually calm, but also wanting to have Sunset cool off; Fluttershy meagerly nodded her head, and then gets up to walk with Sunset upstairs.
Fluttershy is currently looking for some nice ingredients to make cookies with Sunset with. But she just can’t seem to find the one ingredient that she’s looking for... . And that one ingredient is cinnamon. Reason… ? She just wants to do something that’ll get Sunset’s mind out of her loss of a game… . And also that Sunset has suggested it so that way Fluttershy wouldn’t cry because she’s too sensitive, and can get frightened so easily; especially when Sunset Shimmer is getting angry and such.
While Sunset and Fluttershy are busy with looking for some ingredients to make some cookies with; Rarity, Rainbow, and others are currently taking turns playing the level that Sunset tried to beat.
“Huh… “ Rainbow Dash said as she died in the game. “I never knew that this level was so tough… . How’d it get like that?”
Twilight was too busy looking at the video game info; when suddenly she came across something peculiar, and then says; “oh.. dear…” before starting to look stressed.
Rainbow leaned over to Twilight, and then asked; “what’s up?”
Twilight then turns her laptop screen to Rainbow, and says; “this new sequel of Tirek’s revenge has gotten a lot of nasty reviews… .”
Rainbow swallowed her drink in shock, and then looks at the screen with wide eyes. “H-how is that possible?!” She said in shock. “I-I-I’ve played that game many times, and beaten it! There’s no way that the game itself is bad… . Right?!”
Twilight looked unsure, and said; “I don’t know… . But I really don’t want her to quit the game though… . She’s spent so much money on it when it first came out… . And don’t even get me started on how their policies are on game returns… .” Twilight then starts to growl in frustration; remembering her own issue with the video game return policy last time.
Rainbow Dash then jumps onto the couch; sitting down next to Twilight, and then asks; “so what do you wanna do about it?”
Twilight sighs, and then says; “I don’t know… . But what I do know is that Sunset Shimmer is gonna get angry when she gets back to playing this game… .” Twilight then began to look nervous, and then says; “Ooh… . I’m not so sure if this was a good idea… .”
But before Rainbow Dash could help her friend; Sunset Shimmer and Fluttershy came down with a fresh plate of chocolate chip cookies.
Thinking that it could wait a little longer, Rainbow then instantly dove into the cookies; grabbing a handful, and then Twilight said to herself; “eh… it can wait.” and then goes to grab a cookie for herself; along with the others doing so as well.
After some mental preparation, and some meditation; Sunset Shimmer is ready to beat the game in its entirety.
“S-sunset?” Fluttershy asked in slight nervousness.
Sunset looked towards her friend and asked, “what’s up?”
Fluttershy shuffles in her seat on the couch for a bit while sitting next to Sunset, and asks; “ar-are you sure that you can handle this? Y-you have been known to get quite r-ragey.. at best… .”
Sunset just looked at her with a blank expression, pets Fluttershy’s head, and then replies; “oh don’t worry… . It’ll be fine; I promise. And if not, then I’ll probably give ya a warning before then, okay?”
Fluttershy then nodded, and replied back; “like what?” before sinking down into her seat so that way she can expect Sunset to rage anytime soon.
Sunset blushes; already knowing the answer to that question, and says; “you’ll see…” before grabbing the controller, and pressing the resume button. “Alright,” Sunset says before looking determined. “Here we go… .”
After so many losses and trials later… .
“What the hell?!” Sunset said in a fit of rage. “How in the actual f did I just lose to a stinking game?!”
Rainbow Dash got up from the couch, and said; “I would make a snarky remark towards you… . But I’m sensing that you’ll beat the stuffing out of me if I did… huh… ?” Sunset Shimmer replied with a nod, and then just full on jumped and threw the controller on the ground; shattering it to pieces. It wasn’t directed at anyone, so that’s good. However, what isn’t good is that Fluttershy is seeing her worst fear… ; Sunset Shimmer in her rage state over losing to a video game. And with that, she began to whimper, and starts crying. Hearing this, Sunset Shimmer turned to look at the crying shy girl, and then began to tense less and less… .
Eventually, Sunset sighed, and then asks; “you okay Fluttershy? I’m not angry anymore… . And… you can have some more cookies from the tray if you want. We’ve saved a few for you. Is that okay?”
Fluttershy nodded, but then shook her head no and replied; “b-but… that was my controller that you smashed… not yours… .” She then began to cry some more. Sunset, realizing what she just did, looked at the shattered pieces in the floor, and realized that Flutters was right. It was her controller; as there are some pieces of joystick that had Fluttershy’s butterflies on there.
Realizing her mistake, Sunset felt bad, knelt to the ground, and then gave out a pleading gesture before saying; “I’m so sorry Fluttershy. I didn’t know… . I-I think I must’ve grabbed the wrong controller by mistake… a-and… .”
But before she could finish her sentence and or apology, Fluttershy hugged Sunset in record time, and then says with tears in her eyes; “I just need some comfort right now… . I don’t care about the controller anymore! I’m just as mad as you are too because of that game!”
This caused Sunset to look at her with wide eyes, and asked; “wait… . You hated that game too?! Well then why didn’t you tell me?!”
Fluttershy then replied; “because I wanted to see you happy! You’re my friend, and I always wanted to see others happy too! Even Pinkie Pie!” Pinkie Pie made a daww gesture, and then smiled at Fluttershy’s comment to her.
Sunset Shimmer sighed again; trying to keep her cool, and then says; “well that’s good… . But hey; if you don’t like the game, then that’s okay… . We could’ve played another game if you didn’t like the one that I was playing, you know?”
Fluttershy shook her head no again, and then says; “I wanted to play this one too… . But since I personally played the game before as well… then I don’t know if I wanna play the new one with you… .”
Sunset sighs once more, puts a hand to Fluttershy’s shoulder, and then says; “look; how about we go back upstairs, make some more cookies, and then watch a movie. The game console can do that, and we still have an extra controller… . What do you say?”
Fluttershy ponders this for a bit, before looking to Sunset, and replying back; “okay…” before raising her arms, and asking; “but… can you carry me? Please… ? I’m still not feeling well from crying… you know?”
Sunset sighs; since she doesn’t wanna have to carry someone that’s a little older than her… but eventually gave in, and said; “okay… just this once, alright?” Fluttershy nodded and hugged her. “Great…” Sunset trailed off. “Just great… .”
With that, Sunset picked up, and started to carry Fluttershy. But not before Pinkie Pie hugged, and climbed onto Sunset’s back before saying; “me too! Me too!”
Sunset, already feeling like that she carrying enough weight, struggles to get up the stairs, and then collapses. With that in mind, Pinkie and Flutters laughed, both began to take one of Sunset’s arms, and then they both got up to carry Sunset up the stairs with them. Cuz hey; it’s the least they can do for having Sunset attempting to carry both of them… .
And so; with the girls upstairs, they all decided to make some more cookies.
Sunset and the others are currently upstairs in the kitchen making some cookies.
Pinkie Pie as always is being silly, and trying her hardest to try to sneak in a bite from some of the cookie’s ingredients; such as chocolate chips, and or maybe even a little bit of raw cookie dough; despite her pals telling her that eating raw dough is bad for her, and that she could potentially get sick from it.
Regardless; Pinkie Pie didn’t take no for an answer, and swiped some chocolate chips to eat them. The others all rolled their eyes with a smile, and continued on with their work. It was going great until… .
“Oh no…” Fluttershy said in slight dissapointment. “I forgot to get the cinnamon for my cookies… .”
Sunset approached her, puts a hand on Fluttershy’s shoulder, and says; “it’s okay. We can probably get some from Pinkie’s secret stash in the kitchen.”
Pinkie Pie then started to whimper; knowing that her secret stash of ingredients isn’t so secret anymore… . With that, Sunset Shimmer handed her her plush gator Gummy; whom Pinkie then hugged tightly so she could feel comfortable and calm.
Few minutes have passed, and the cookies are already in the oven; baking for about as long as possible so they wouldn’t get burned.
Pinkie Pie is currently whimpering meanwhile because of two things… . The first is that her cinnamon stash was used for the cookies; despite the fact that she was gonna use them for baking cinnamon buns with her cinnamon stash with the Cakes… . And the second? “I want cookies… !” Pinkie Pie being impatient about the cookies being baked was the second… .
Sunset sighs, and said; “well, if you want, we could let you eat the undercooked/raw cookies, and then you can get sick. Would you like that?” She was so not happy with how Pinkie Pie is acting. Feeling defeated, Pinkie shook her head in defeat, and went into the living room to possibly feel sad about acting like a kid in front of her friends; despite the fact that it’s basically flat out her personality… . And it’s also what her friends have liked about her… ; most of the time.
The cookies are done, the friends are happy, and all is good. Except for the fact that Pinkie Pie is still sad, while also holding her Gummy plushie.
So with that, Sunset Shimmer approached, knelt down to her level, and gave her a cookie. “You can have some if you’d want. I can just always get you some more cinnamon for your other sweets. Right?” Pinkie Pie sighed and accepted the cookie while still also looking sad. Cuz of that, Sunset sighs too, and boops Pinkie on the nose saying; “you’re so silly… .” To which point, Pinkie smiled a bit, and decided to look cute in front of Sunset by taking the cookie close to her mouth but not eating it yet. Seeing this, Sunset smiled back, and pets Pinkie’s head before heading to the couch to sit with the others.
Pinkie eventually went to get more cookies, and sat on Sunset’s lap, before saying; “you’re comfy… .” and then began to hug Sunset for making her feel better. Sunset laughed out of how silly Pinkie is acting, and the others did too.
