Students from 3 different schools come together to make a positive impact.
When the infamous Abacus Cinch strikes again, ruining another Rainbooms concert, Twilight and friends feel that they can’t come back from this. Octavia and Vinyl Scratch take matters into their own hands and ask for help from students from other schools.
On a Saturday evening, Twilight and her friends are backstage at a concert at Canterlot State Park. Sunset Shimmer looks at the crowd through the curtain.
“Wow!” Sunset gasped. “Look at that crowd.”
“You bet.” Rainbow Dash replied. “This is going to be a big turnout.”
“I think it’s time to get prepared.” Twilight suggested.
Sunset and Rainbow strapped on their guitars, Applejack strapped on her bass, Pinkie Pie went to her drum set and picked up her drumsticks, Rarity strapped on her keytar, Fluttershy picked up her tambourine, and Twilight got a hold of her microphone. The girls took their places on stage, and waited to perform.
“Good evening, Canterlot City!” Greeted socialite Hoity Toity. “I present to you, the noble group of seven, the Rainbooms!”
The curtain opens up. And, there are the Rainbooms, receiving applause from the crowd. Suddenly, former principal of Crystal Prep, Abacus Cinch, steps onto the stage.
“Twilight Sparkle!” Cinch shouted. “What is the meaning of this?!”
“We’re performing a concert for these nice people.” Twilight Sparkle responded, defending herself. “Besides, you don’t boss me around anymore.”
“Is that so?”
Seething with anger, Cinch grabbed Twilight by the shirt, and dragged her to the backstage. The other girls put down their instruments and pursue the two individuals. Cinch threw Twilight to the floor hard. Twilight looked at her former principal as she starts to turn bright red with absolute rage.
The other girls rushed to help their fallen friend. Cinch then rushed into them, knocking a few down. She then grabs Fluttershy, and throws her onto Twilight.
“FLUTTERS!” Rainbow Dash gasped as Cinch grabs her by her shirt.
“SHUT UP!” Cinch yelled as she punched her in the face. Rainbow tripped and landed near the other fallen girls.
Meanwhile, Cinch keeps yanking at Rarity’s hair. “This will teach you to accept despair!”
Rarity holds on to her hair after the vicious woman lets go. Suddenly, Pinkie lands on top of her.
“Sorry, Rarity.” Pinkie sobbed. “That mean woman just threw me on to you like a trash bag.”
Cinch then slapped Sunset in the face multiple times. “You are an abomination everywhere, YOU SHE-DEMON!”
Sunset went to her knees, crying her eyes out. Applejack bent over to comfort her until Cinch hit her on the back, and the farm girl fell on top of the leather clad girl. Soon, Abacus Cinch walked onto the stage, and grabbed the microphone.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Cinch announced, “tonight’s concert is cancelled. You can all go home.”
The audience started to leave the park. Cinch returned backstage, to see the seven girls, battered, bruised, and struck down.
“This is where your music died!” Cinch said angrily. “FOR GOOD!”
She stomps all over the girls as she leaves the area. Hoity Toity looks at the seven fallen musicians, and gave instructions to a maintenance crew.
“Pack up their instruments carefully.” Hoity Toity informed. “Then, arrange for these girls to be taken to the hospital, to get checked out.”
Later, ambulances came and had Twilight and her friends boarded, then they were taken to the hospital with Hoity Toity following then in his own car.
Blasted Abacus Cinch. Hoity Toity thought. She’s going to pay for this someday.
The scene changes at Canterlot City Hospital. Where the Rainbooms were escorted out by Hoity Toity.
“Thank you for helping us last night.” Rarity praised.
“You’re welcome, my friends.” Hoity Toity replied. “You girls will be happy to know that your instruments are safe and undamaged.”
“That’s good.” Sunset sighed. She soon started to get mad. “If Abacus Cinch damaged any of our instruments, I’m gonna...”
“Easy, Sunset.” Twilight calmly said. “We’re all a little uptight because of what happened.”
Hoity Toity then made an announcement. “Since you girls have a week off from school, you’re all invited to spend it in my humble abode.”
“Oh dear.” Fluttershy gasped. “That’s an unexpected surprise.”
“I’m with you, Flutters.” Rainbow Dash added. “I hope our parents are cool with that.”
“Don’t worry, Miss Dash.” Hoity Toity said. “I called your parents while you were recovering. They all agree that a week with me will help you girls relax.”
Soon, the girls arrived at Hoity Toity’s estate. They were given rooms to stay in. In one room, Applejack and Rarity noticed that their room has bunk beds.
“Doesn’t this remind you of our stay at Camp Everfree, Applejack?” Rarity asked.
“Sure does.” AJ answered. “When it’s bedtime, you can take bottom and I’ll take the top.”
Rarity is satisfied. “Deal.”
In another room, Twilight and Sunset sat down on two air mattresses.
“This doesn’t feel that bad.” Twilight figured. “We could sleep peacefully tonight.”
Sunset got a bit worried. “I hope so.”
And, in a third room, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie look at their room.
Fluttershy just sat with tears in her eyes. Sunset went over to comfort her. “Don’t worry, Fluttershy. Things will work out.”
“I h..h...hope s..so.” Fluttershy sobbed.
“We all have to relax.” Twilight informed. “This Saturday night, we are to perform here for a grand party Mr. Hoity Toity is hosting.”
“Hopefully, without Miss Cinch getting in our way.” Sunset added.
“Yeah!” Pinkie blurted. “She’s a real party pooper.”
Applejack soon spoke out. “Since Mr. Hoity Toity is being nice to us, we should do something to make that Saturday more special for him.”
“What’s your idea, Darling?” Rarity asked.
“Let’s just get some sleep. I’ll talk to y’all about it in the morning.”
The group all agreed. But, they’re still a little worried about Abacus Cinch disturbing their music again. The next morning, the scene shifts to another location in the neighborhood. It’s where roommates Vinyl Scratch and Octavia Melody have a discussion during breakfast.
“Do you think this secret idea will work, Tavi?” Vinyl asked.
“Believe me, Vinyl.” Octavia replied. “This will work.”
“I agreed that we should help Twilight and her friends get ready for Saturday night. But, is it right to leave them in the dark about what we’re doing?”
“The less people that know, the better. This way, Abacus Cinch won’t get in anybody’s way.”
Later, the roommates are prepared to go their separate ways.
“You know your part.” Octavia said.
“I sure do.” Vinyl replied. “See ya later.”
Octavia and Vinyl went in different directions to put their plan in action.
Octavia made her way to a warehouse district, where she heard that somebody is using one of the buildings for music practice.
"Let's see." Octavia said to herself. "The ones I'm looking for are around here somewhere."
Suddenly, she hear music played at the warehouse she's looking at. The music sounds like it's played by a pipe organ and a fiddle. "In there!"
The cello player rushes to the warehouse. Inside, two young people practice their music. One is a young girl with red hair and lavender skin. She wore a white opened shirt covering a reddish purple shirt underneath. She has on blue jeans with the pant cuffs rollled up and sneakers with music note shaped heels. This young girl has on a heart shaped obect over her left eye. She plays her pipe organ well.
The other person, playing a fiddle, looks like a ghostly teen wearing a leather jacket and blue jeans. They then decided to stop playing.
"You've improved since we last met." The girl said with a southern accent.
"I sure did." The greaser ghost replied. "And, we make a great team."
The southern girl is Operetta, the darling dixie ghoul of Monster High. And, the greaser is her worthy rival, Johnny Spirit. They were watched by other students of Monster High, who were impressed.
"And to think," Clawdeen Wolf, the werewolf fashion ghoul, said, "you two used to despise each other."
"Until we realized that we both like music." Operetta replied.
The vegetarian vampire, Draculara, smiled at their performance. "It's a good thing we came to Canterlot City for some peace and quiet."
"I sure hope that Sunset Shimmer and her friends don't mind us visiting their hometown." Said the fur wearing ice maiden, Abbey Bominable.
Suddenly, the doors opened, and in steps Jane Boolittle, a ghoul who lived most of her life in the jungle. She got the other ghouls' attention. "Ghouls, I found an intruder! Not to fear, however. This visitor is secured!"
She threw in Octavia, who had her hands tied behind her back and her ankles tied together. Octavia got nervous as popular student, Cleo DeNile, walks over to her.
"What are you doing here, Octavia Melody?" Cleo asked. "Not that we don't mind a visit from any friends of the Rainbooms."
Cleo is then joined by Frankie Stein, who looks at the bound cello player. "It's just we didn't expect anybody to come around here."
"I am in need of help." Octavia explained, as she looks at Operetta and Johnny. "Particularly, from you two."
Johnny Spirit floated to Octavia. "It must be important if you need our help." He then turns to Draculaura. "Untie this girl so we can hear her out."
Minutes later, Octavia explained the situation to the Monster High students.
“I heard about what happened to your friends.” Draculaura said with concern.
“We all have.” Cleo added. “It’s not right for Miss Cinch to ruin their performance.”
“Indeed.” Octavia said sadly. “Twilight, Sunset, and the others were very upset about this. And, I’m sure they still are.”
“So, where do we fit in?” Johnny Spirit asked.
“Well, Johnny. The Rainbooms are staying at Hoity Toity’s place this week. And, they’ll be performing at his place on Saturday night. I wondered if you and Operetta would join them on stage.”
This got everybody’s attention.
“Hey! Why not!” Operetta said with excitement. “We’d be honored to be with the Rainbooms.”
“Operetta is right.” Johnny added. “I always wanted to be with those seven girls. Especially Sunset Shimmer.”
“You like the way she looks in a leather jacket. Don’t you?”
Johnny blushes as Octavia leaves.
“Thanks, everybody.” Octavia said as she leaves. “I’ll keep in contact with you if something comes up.”
“Good idea.” Clawdeen added. “Say hi to your roommate for us.”
After waving goodbye, Octavia heads for home as she sends a text to Vinyl. I’ve done my part. Let’s hope Vinyl is just as successful.
In another part of town, Vinyl Scratch headed for a nature park, She heard talk about someone relaxing there playing music.
"I can't believe that Tavi recruited Operetta and Johnny Spirit." Vinyl said to herself. "Twilight and the others will be really surprised."
Suddenly, Vinyl heard the sounds of a flute and a saxophone being played from the park. She headed for the source of the sound. In another area of the park, a groovy looking lady with white hair and black streaks, and wearing a black and yellow outfit played a flute beautifully. Next to her, a young man wearing a green forest hero type outfit played a saxophone. When the music stopped, they were applauded by other people that look like fairy tale characters.
"Wow, Sparrow." The girl in yellow praised. "You play the sax as well as you shred on your guitar."
"Thanks, Melody." The boy named Sparrow replied. "It's good to adjust to any instruments."
The two music makers are Melody Piper and Sparrow Hood from Ever After High. And, their audience are some of their friends from school.
"We're all impressed with your skills." The young blond maiden, Apple White, said.
"She's right." Replied the perky tea party expert, Maddie Hatter.
Suddenly, Melody starts calling to somebody. "Hey, Vinyl!"
Everybody turned and saw who Melody was calling. She spotted Vinyl, and motioned her to come over. Adjusting her glasses, baker Ginger Breadhouse realized who it is. "Hey. It's Melody's groovy friend. Vinyl Scratch!"
"Oh yeah." Fashion girl Ashlynn Ella replied. "Also known as DJ Pon-3."
Vinyl rushed over, and she and Melody hugged each other.
"What bring you to this music fest, girl?" Sparrow asked.
Soon, Vinyl explained the situation to the fairy tale students.
"Oh my." Apple White gasped. “I feel bad for the Rainbooms."
"Me too." The black haired Raven Queen replied. "I'll bet Sunset Shimmer feels worse than when she was in detention for that Fall Formal nightmare."
"Totally." Vinyl said sadly.
The hooded student, Cerise Hood, got a bit curious. "So, what brings you here?"
"Actually, it's Melody and Sparrow I came to see."
The two looked at each other, and Melody spoke out. "What do you need from us?"
"This Saturday, Hoity Toity, one of the well known socialites, is hosting a party at his home. And, he is having the Rainbooms to perform. I figured you two might like to jam with them."
Sparrow Hood screamed with joy. "OH YEAH! I always wanted to jam with those seven lovely rockers. They'll be impressed with my saxophone skills I picked up recently."
"And, I can't wait to show everybody how I can play a regular flute." Melody added. "I promise, I won't put anyone under a spell."
Minutes later, Vinyl is set to hit the road. "We'll keep in touch with each other in case something comes up."
"Gotcha." Sparrow replied. "Catch you later, Vinyl."
"Say hello to Octavia for us." Raven Queen added.
Vinyl soon left the park, and headed for a home. She soon texted Octavia. Wait until Tavi hears about this.
The next day, Octavia and Vinyl get together with the four volunteers they recruited.
“Okay, friends.” Octavia started. “Vinyl and I have gathered you here together for a purpose. To accompany Twilight and her friends for a performance at Hoity Toity’s place this Saturday night.”
Sitting next to each other on a couch are Operetta and Sparrow Hood as Melody Piper and Johnny Spirit stand next to them.
“This will be an awesome opportunity,” Vinyl added, “to show how students of three different schools can work together.”
“I think y’all are right.” Operetta replied. “This should be a great time.”
“You said it!” Sparrow agreed. “I always wanted to work with someone from Monster High.” He places his arm around Operetta’s shoulder. “Especially you, Southern Belle.”
“Aw, Sparrow.” Operetta started to blush. “Y’all say the kindest things.”
Johnny looks on. “Can’t blame her for blushing. Being a southern ghoul, her sweet disposition is admired.”
“Pardon me, Octavia.” Melody interrupted. “Do the Rainbooms know about this meeting?”
“No, they don’t.” Octavia replied. “I just told them that me and Vinyl are going to help out.”
“Very clever, Octavia.” Sparrow said. “Say, since you play a cello, are you going to join us for that performance?”
“I certainly am. And, on that note, this meeting is dismissed. See you guys on Saturday night.”
The four visitors made their out the door and back to their respected homes.
“I think this’ll be fun.” Melody said.
“You’re right, Melody.” Operetta added. “Say ‘Hi’ to Raven, Ashlyn, and the others for us.”
“Sure thing. See ya.”
Operetta and Johnny Spirit went one way while Sparrow and Melody went another. Back at the house, Vinyl starts to get nervous.
“I hope we did the right thing, Tavi.” Vinyl wondered.
“Don’t panic, roomie.” Octavia replied calmly. “This isn’t the only time Monster High and Ever After High worked together.”
“Huh?”
“One time last month, Blondie Lockes need help with a special Mirrorcast. She asked Spectra Vondergeist, the Ghostly Gossip, to join up with her.”
Vinyl’s eyes widened. “Oh, yeah! I remember seeing that Mirrorcast. Blondie and Spectra made a great media team.”
Octavia nodded and comforted her roommate. “Trust me. This will work.”
Vinyl felt a little relieved. In a restaurant in Canterlot City, two unusual allies have a conversation. The two people are Headmistress Bloodgood, leader of Monster High, and Milton Grimm, headmaster of Ever After High.
“I just got word that students of our respected schools have been asked to help with a concert.” Grimm said.
“It’s true.” Bloodgood replied. “There’s going to be a performance of the Rainbooms at the posh estate of Hoity Toity.”
“Ah, Yes. One of Canterlot City’s well known socialites. I had lunch with him one time.”
Taking a sip of water, Bloodgood continues her explanation. “And, students from both our schools have been recruited to perform with the band.”
“That’s a great example of unity!” Grimm praised. “But, what about Abacus Cinch? You no doubt heard of what she did to those seven girls just last week.”
“Don’t worry, Milton.” Bloodgood said. “I know of a way to make sure that doesn’t happen again.”
At Hoity Toity’s estate, the seven friends are in the backyard, doing yoga exercises to relax to. As soon as the session was over, Sunset Shimmer, who lead the session, was proud of the others.
“Nice work, girls.” Sunset praised. “You all did excellent.”
“Thanks, Sunset.” Twilight replied as everybody sat on their mats cross legged. “This is a great idea doing yoga in the backyard.”
“I agree.” Rarity added. “The sun is shining, and there’s a nice cool breeze blowing.”
“I guess all of that yoga you learned from your teacher, Lotus Blossom, pays off. Huh?” Rainbow said.
“It sure does.” Sunset replied.
Hoity Toity soon came to check on his guests.
“How are you doing, my friends?” Hoity Toity asked.
“We’re all doing fine.” Rarity answered.
“You said it.” Pinkie added. “I guess being with you for a week washed all of our worries away.”
“That’s the spirit.” Hoity Toity replied. “This stay at my estate is a great way to wind down for this weekend.”
“I sure hope Miss Cinch won’t ruin this concert like she did the last one.” Twilight said with concern.
“Not to worry. Your friends will make sure of that.”
As the week went on, the girls continued to take it easy. They practiced for their performance, they chill at the swimming pool, take a relaxing walk while admiring Hoity’s various flower patches, and at night, they get together for a slumber party.
The night before the performance, the girls talk about what they heard from Vinyl and Octavia.
“I can’t believe that students from Monster High AND Ever After High are joining us tomorrow night.” Rainbow Dash said.
“That’s a shocker!” Pinkie blurted. “How did that happen?”
“From What Octavia told me,” Rarity figured, “while she was recruiting volunteers from Monster High, Vinyl asked for help from the Ever After High students.”
“Yeah.” Sunset added. “Talk about ultimate unity.”
Twilight smiled. “That’s a good thought, Sunset. I haven’t thought of that.”
“So, who’s joining us in that performance?” Fluttershy asked.
Applejack’s phone went off. “Pardon me, girls.”
As the farmer girl stepped out, Rarity answered Fluttershy’s question. “I heard that Operetta and Johnny Spirit were recruited by Octavia.”
“Pretty good choice.” Rainbow figures. “Who’s representing Ever After High?”
“I believe Melody Piper and Sparrow Hood.”
Twilight realized something. “I heard that those two are trying new instruments. Melody is practicing playing a flute while Sparrow is trying a saxophone.”
This got everybody surprised.
“A flute for Melody Piper I can understand.” Sunset said. “But, a sax for Sparrow Hood? That should be interesting.”
Applejack came back in with some news. “That was my old friend, Colorataura.”
“The piano player?” Rarity wondered.
“That’s right. She going to join us for tomorrow too. And, she learned about the extra musicians Octavia and Vinyl recruited.”
Everybody was very impressed with the way things are turning out.
“This is going to be an interesting Saturday.” Twilight said.
Soon, the girls fell asleep. Ready for tomorrow. And, their performance.
Saturday night has come. At Hoity Toity's estate, a stage is set up in his grand backyard. Chairs are set up. Many people of Canterlot High School attended. As well as students from Monster High and Ever After High. Hoity Toity walks up to the stage.
"Good evening, everybody." Hoity Toity announced. "Thank you for showing up. And now, here are the young ladies who will give you quite the show. The Rainbooms!"
A curtain opens, and the band is revealed. Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmer have their guitars, Applejack with her bass, Pinkie Pie is at her drum set, Fluttershy holds up her tambourine, Rarity is ready with her keytar, and Twilight Sparkle walks up to her microphone.
The audience applauded. Among the people, Spectra Vondergeist and Blondie Lockes are aiming their video cameras at the stage.
"For our first song," Twilight said in the microphone, "we brought some special guests."
Applejack stepped up and made her own announcement. "First up, we have our own Octavia Melody and popular piano player, Colorataura."
Octavia walks onto the stage, sitting down and ready to play her cello. Her seat is next to Sunset Shimmer. Meanwhile, Colorataura walks onto the stage wering a lovely black gown and sits down to play her piano, behind Octavia and Sunset.
"Coming to join us now," Sunset continued, "representing Monster High, Operetta and Johnny Spirit."
The southern ghoul takes her place at a pipe organ behind Rainbow and Applejack as Johnny Spirit floats by, standing between the two girls.
"Finally," Rarity announced, "representing Every After High, Melody Piper and Sparrow Hood."
Behind Pinkie, the two EAH students arrived. Melody has her flute and Sparrow readied his saxophone.
"I thought Sparrow's instrument of choice is a guitar." The dragon maiden, Jinafire Long, wondered.
"He wanted to try something different for a while." The charming bookworm, Rosabella Beauty explained.
In the audience, Abacus Cinch saw the assembly, and walked away in an angry huff. Courtly Jester, who was sitting next to her, got on her phone.
"You were right." The crafty harlequin said. "She's heading backstage to crash this party again."
"The reason that these six extra musicians are with us," Twilight announced, "is that our first song is our own take on 'Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band', originally preformed by the Moody Blues."
Backstage, Cinch marched down to stop the show, only to be met by two familiar figures.
"Hoity Toity thought you would show up!" Grimm informed.
"We've been asked to make sure you don't ruin this performance." Bloodgood added.
Hoity Toity came along to confront the intruder. "Trying to embarrass the girls again, eh? I'll have to call the bouncer." He then turns around. "Come forth, Miss Gooliope!"
Soon, a very tall girl with pink blobby skin and blond hair wth dark pink streaks came out. She wore a black and yellow outfit and a golden hairpiece. Abacus Cinch recognized this girl, and got scared. "Yikes! Gooliope Jellington!"
"Yes, Mr. Hoity Toity." Gooliope said to Hoity. "How can I help you, sir?"
Seconds later, Cinch was thrown out of the estate as she landed on the grass. She turned, and sees Gooliope looking at her. "You won't crash this party with me around."
Gooliope leaves as the music is played. Cinch lifted herself up as a dog comes along.
"Hello, little fella." Cinch said, trying to act kind.
The dog licks her hand. Just then, the dog spits into the ground, and angrily walks away from Abacus Cinch. The former head of Crystal Prep crossed her arms, knowing she was defeated. "Oh well, back to the old drawing board."
