SSGT.Trevor Dublo is an F-15 eagle ace whom was brought to equestria during the early stages of the country due to a portal spell Luna tried to use to raise the sun for Celestia during the years the ace and his fighter picked up the reputation of "the eagle" due to the F-15's name being his callsign. before the year Luna was imprisoned Trevor was frozen in time under the castle of the two sisters inside his plane. 20 years later he is awoken from his long slumber will he defend Equestria what friends will he make and what feelings will resurface
Cold that was the first thought to enter Trevors’ mind opening his eyes he quickly closed them from the sharp pain to now wreck his thinking allowing his body to go limp he feels his left hand brush against the throttle of his fighter.
“ Well this the last time I trust Celestia to put me to sleep, now then time to figure out why im awake.” opening his eye the familiar sight of the cockpit greets him looking up he sees that the canopy was popped open. Slowly getting up Trevor looks around before his eyes land on a lime green tail sticking out from behind a crate grabbing an empty can he chucks the can like a football nailing the crate causing a loud clink before clattering to the floor along with a yelp before the owner of the tail falls into view revealing a light blue pegasus mare trying to blow her long mane out of her eyes once she does Trevor comes into view.
“Ah, Mint I see you’ve joined me down here mind filling me in on why I’m awake?” The mare nods before standing back up and flap her wings raising into the air before flying closer to him her teal eyes focusing onto hi. “ It appears Equestria needs the eagle once more due to the zebras not wanting to play fair.” The mares’ voice reaches his ears causing hi to nod before getting back into his seat flicking switches on the control panel causing the controls and electronics to flicker to life. Looking to his left he grabs his flight helmet before putting it on hearing the engines fire up finally looking back at the mare he nods to her before tapping his oxygen mask.
“ Comms are green Mint I’ll keep in contact while you find the princesses.” Pressing a button the canopy closes locking into place .
Trevor puts his oxygen mask on clipping it onto his helmet he lowers his visor before relaxing into his seat he grabs the throttle and flight stick before pushing forward on the throttle the jet quickly flies forward shooting out of the cavern that was made into a temporary hanger pulling back on the flight stick the fighter jet quickly gains altitude rising five feet above the trees Trevor levels the jet so it was flying straight once more looking around he scans the area before a bright flashes catches his attention.
The streets of Ponyville where in complete chaos Equestrian guards where in a deadlocked battle with zebrakin soldiers behind the guards was the newly crowned princess Twilight Sparkle beside her was one of her friends Rainbow Dash.
“ Twilight you need to leave Ponyville is getting overrun plus that dreadnought just took out the last of the long range cannons!” Rainbow Dash yelled into Twilight's left ear over the explosions and gunfire all around them while said dreadnought hovers over the small town one of its cannons blew out smoke from recently being fired. Twilight Sparkle looked down knowing that her friend was right she looked over at her friends only to see her ears per up more swiveling to her right.
“Does anypony else hear a loud screeching sound coming from our right side?” Dash yelled that out before she looks to her right causing Twilight to do the same spotting a fast low flying object heading towards them away from the Everfree Forrest. As they watch the object its shape begins to take form a shimmering of light reflects off the top of the object they watch as the object turns towards the dreadnought.
“ What the hay is that thing doing how’s it even flying without flapping its wings!?” Dash yelled out before hearing a strange whooshing sound watching as two trails of smoke leaving the objects solid looking wings.
The two cylinder looking objects quickly flies over their heads the two mares watch in silence as the objects fly towards the upper haul of the dreadnought before impacting it causing a huge explosion to rock the dreadnought.
The shockwave hits the ponies and zebras on the ground most looking up to watch as the dreadnought shutters moving towards the outskirts of the town. Pieces of the frame and haul begin to fall off before the sounds of rapids cracks fill the now silent warzone white streaks fill the sky impacting the dreadnought causing chunks to fly off causing the dreadnought to lose control and careen towards the Everfree impacting the ground.
The explosives in the lower decks ignite from the flames that covered the downed dreadnought causing a massive explosion to rock the small town sending all of the zebras attacking the town into a retreat.
As Twilight looks towards the smoldering remains of the dreadnought Dash focuses her attention to the object now circling the town in what she could guess was a scanning pattern the object now in full view making it easier to make out the long triangular shape with the long and wide wings stretching from its sides parts of the wings where moving either to keep itself flying or to keep itself in the circling pattern her eyes focus on the back of the object two wide half triangular objects black in color with the symbol of a talon in the middle.
She watched as the object turns to its left flying towards Canterlot she looks back to Twilight before flying towards Canterlot Twilight following her friend.
"well that was fun time to head towards my new hanger that popped up on my map." Trevor turns his fighter to the left heading towards the waypoint Mint has put on his GPS.
Looking at his HUD he begins landing preparations as the landing strip comes into view he gently lowers the fighter towards the dirt track while with his left hand he lowers the engines throttle land smoothly on the ground pressing a button the jet slows to stop before the turbine twin engines turn off.
Sighing he unhooks his oxygen mask before removing his helmet looking to his left he pulls on the latch allowing the canopy to pop open allowing the young pilot to feel the warm summer breeze touch his face getting up he climbs out of the cockpit stand on the right wing hazel eyes scan the area before visibly relaxing "it's good to finally be able to do my job." looking down he grabs onto the rope ladder that was in the cockpit to climb down before walking towards the hanger his helmet was in his right hand walking into the hanger he begins to unzip his flight suit with one thought repeating in his mind "I'm hungry and thirsty."
Opening the door to the barracks Trevor drops his helmet and flight suit onto the floor before making a b-line to the kitchen looking around he found himself becoming impressed with how the kitchen was set up. In front of him was a counter beside a stove.pantry and a fridge.
Walking to the fridge Joseph opens the door before looking inside hoping for something good inside. Looking at the first door shelf he grabs the bottle of apple juice he saw before letting the door close turning around he opens the bottle taking a sip.
“That’s much better now to find out what the fuck is happening and why I’m awake.” Talking to himself he hears the door open poking his head out of the kitchen he spots the two princesses followed by six other ponies one being another ,but smaller alicorn.
“Ah princess Celestia and Luna just the mares I wanted to see now will you kindly explain why the fuck Equestria is at war and why I feel like me being woken up wasn’t for just saying hello.”
Once he was done talking he leaned against the wall scanning the six ponies that occompanied the princesses. Most of the six ponies just stared at him with wide eyes ,but one seemed to cringe from how he looked and by what he would guess was his colorful vocabulary.
‘Hello again Joseph I wished us reuniting was on better terms ,but Equestria is once again at war so far we’re on the losing end we lost twelve million soldiers so far and are barely holding on thats why you’ve been awoken once more.”
Closing his eyes he lets what Celestia told him to sink in before opening his eyes again and looking over at his gear before hearing someone clear their throat looking towards the sounds direction his sight landing on the smaller alicorn.
“Princess Celestia I don’t understand how this creature can help us.” The smaller alicorn spoke hearing what she said annoyed Joseph causing him to roll his eyes before pushing past the two princesses so he was standing in front of her.
“This creature just saved that small village from being overrun so watch what you say to me because im the last thing you want to piss of considering your current situation little princess.”
Trevor watched as one of the ponies a cyan blue rainbow haired pegasus open her mouth to say something but stop a straighten up after a symbol on Josephs’ uniform under shirt caught her attention. The patch was blue with a gold outline patters featuring a yellow etched pegasus' wing in the middle of said patch the patch of a Wonderbolts captain.
“ Private Rainbow Dash reporting sir!” Hearing dash yell out causes her friends to look at her and Trevor to grin slightly knowing what’s happening now “At ease private no need to be formal with me never liked that shit anyways.”
Upon hearing the order Rainbow Dash relaxes her posture before landing next to Rarity whom raises her brow in a questioning manner “Darling i hope you don’t mind me asking but why did you just do that with Joseph?”
Trevor feels a bit of a smile grow on his face picking up his helmet he tucks it under his arm “It’s because I'm the reason the wonderbolts was formed making me their only flight captain and I’m proud of it.”
Hearing Trevor speak of his rank in the wonderbolts causes Celestia and Luna to smile since it’s been so long since they’ve heard Trevor speak about his rank in Equestrias’ military ,but one pony still doesn’t understand what’s going on.
“Wait I thought Spitfire was a flight captain in the wonderbolts?” Trevor finds himself looking at the smaller princess once again before allowing a sigh to escape his lips before deciding to answer the question himself.
“Well this Spitfire is a team captain most likely in charge of her own branch in the wonderbolts. Where as I’m in charge of the wonderbolts as a whole hence why my title is flight captain.” Trevor found himself comfortable with talking about his position in the equestrian military.
As the ponies looked around the barracks with princess Celestia showing them around Trevor picked up his flight gear before walking over to a wall covered in tall standing lockers. Opening the first locker Trevor hangs his flight suit and vest raising his helmet up to place it on the rack inside of the locker he catches the reflection of princess Luna in its visor.
“Trevor I was wondering if we can talk?” Sighing Trevor looks over his shoulder at the princess he knew what she wanted to talk about and he wasn’t happy about it.
“Luna I really don’t want to fucking talk about that shit it already happen and is over with leave it at that.” Slamming his helmet down in the locker with a loud metallic clank he closes the locker and pushes past her only to hear the night princess ask one question he didn’t want to hear.
“Trevor what has happened between us I don’t understand?” stopping in his tracks Trevor looks over his shoulder once again the growing look of frustration shown in his face and with a single word he answers her question. “We happened Luna.’ with the answer given Trevor simply looks forward and walks into the main living space of the barracks.
Hearing Trevor walk into the main living area the ponies look over spotting the frustrated look on the human’s face as he sits down on the couch a loud sigh escaping his lips before asking princess Celestia one more question “How the hell did this war manage to start the Zebras refuse to give you cake or something Celestia?”
Hearing his joke laced comment Celestia approaches Trevor pushing her chest into the humans right leg a move seen as some type of act of intimidation towards the human by the other ponies but the human only cracks a smile knowing the cake loving sun goddess’ true intention with the act.
“I have you know it wasn’t me,Luna or my love of baked goods that caused this war in fact the zebras started the whole thing over a dispute with the griffins. A few years ago Zebrica and the many factions of Griffus met up in Canterlot to negotiate land claims at first everything was tame and peaceful,but then one piece of griffon land was brought to attention the griffin military had set up a training camp along their border that lead into Zebrica the zebras wanted that very piece of land for a military base the griffins however refused politely not wanted any acts of aggression to happen between both factions militaries to start a war.”
Nodding to what Celestia was saying Trevor used his leg to nudge the princess back a bit before sitting up. “What happened next Sunbutt?”
Hearing the question and not giving any attention to the humans nickname for her Celestia continues to speak to him.
“Hearing the griffons refusal infuriated the Zebrican leaders causing them to threaten the griffins with the promise of declaring war against the griffins and any empire allied with them. The griffins not appreciating the threat challenged the zebras true intentions with the meeting ending with zebrican leaders to leave my castle leaving behind a declaration of war for the griffins and Equestria so that’s why your hear and awake we need you or else all of Equestria will be lost forever.”
Hearing what Celestia has told him he nods fully understanding now as he leans back into the couch before looking over at the six ponies before talking himself. “I’ll need a team Celestia my team because if Equestrias future really does fall onto my shoulders I need ponies I can depend on and trust with watching my back and no Mint Skies won’t be enough.”
Nodding her head Celestia lets a small smile grace her muzzle “Yes I’m sure Talon company will be happy to know their team captain is back in action.” chuckling the human peers out of the window his F-15 Eagle coming into view his eyes focusing onto the talon symbol on the tail of his aircraft. “Yes they will Tia and those zebras won’t be in my skies after im done with them.”
Trevor was standing on top of his fighter jet looking it over while the princesses spoke and the remaining five ponies looked around the aircraft, Fluttershy watched as the human looked around surprisingly she wasn’t scared of him even when he stood at his full height.
“So what ya saying is this fighter jet allows you to fly and fight in the air.” The southern accent of Applejack reached Trevor's ears causing the human to glance down at the mare a smile growing on his face.
“Yeah and a lot more I can support ground troops take out ground targets that’s causing problems and provide fast recon.” The human spoke as he sat down on the jets left wing before he looked up “It’s a dangerous job to do but I can’t see myself doing anything else.”
Hearing something land on the wing behind him Trevor turns around to see a bat pony standing behind him.
“Hello commander glad to see you again and it appears you’ve met the elements.”
Chuckling Trevor puts his helmet onto the mares head the over sized helmet covers her head causing the mare to let out a frustrated sigh as she pulls the helmet off.
“Yeah I have, but I thought I told you and the other girls to stop calling me that?” Trevor looks at the mare behind him waiting for answer.
“Yeah but I can’t help it it’s a force of habit Trevor.” The mare flaps her wings lifting into the air looking directly at him “It’s good to be back in the saddle by your side.”
Hearing the mares comment Trevor finds himself nodding and smiling agreeing with her before grabbing his helmet again as Mint flies over to the group.
“Ah Mist Skies it’s good to see you again from the papers I’ve been given it seems we have work to do.” Mint smiles as she gives Mist her greeting leaving Trevor to once again question the light blue menace currently hovering over his left shoulder.
Trevor was about to open his mouth when he hears Twilight speak from her spot underneath the wing he was sitting on “I don’t understand what this aircraft was primarily used for on your world Trevor.”
Hearing the question from the little princess Trevor's posture stiffens slightly from the question “That’s easy princess this very aircraft you’re looking over had only one thing in mind when it was made war.”
Twilight upon hearing his answer immediately got out from under the wing looking up at Trevor whom was staring up at the sky at the moment.
“B-but why? Why create tech,weapons and vehicles for war Trevor you have no reason to it’s evil.” Hearing what Twilight said Trevor's eyes snap down locking straight onto her a strange look in his eyes.
“My nation's enemies did the same what makes me any different I’ve bombed town and cities strafed villages and roads I fought for my country.”
Hearing Trevor speak only made Twilight more worried and confused “You’ve killed civilians who did nothing to you how can you ever justify that?”
Hearing her speak caused Trevor to scoff before hopping down from the wing before glaring down at her a fire in his eyes.
“Because i wasn’t the one that flew two planes into two towers full of innocent people another plane into a government building and have another one crash into a field trust me they’ve done way worse than I have.”
When Trevor spoke he had venom laced into his words Twilight immediately backed away from him not from fear but from shame that she messed up saying something to him.
Sighing Trevor closes his eyes before speaking once more “Look I don’t mean to scare you or get angry it’s just a very sensitive topic for myself personally.”
Looking at his face Twilight's features soften realizing her mistake before looking away and walking over to where her friends where.
Trevor picks up his helmet from the ground before holding it under his arm before staring up at the sky listening to the ponies talk with each other as Mist looks around adjusting her flight vest.
Trevor reaches into his jacket before pulling out a journal before speaking up “So Celestia where’s my office?’
Celestia looks over at him before groaning hoping he wouldn’t ask that one question silently wishing he wasn’t affected by any magic she knew “Currently occupied by current wonder bolts captain Spitfire.”
Hearing her response he walks over to Rainbow Dash before looking into her magenta eyes that locked onto his “Go get your captain we’ll need to talk anyways.’
Rainbow Dash chuckles slightly before landing beside Rarity and smile up at him “Knowing her she’s already on her way here you did cause a show in ponyville.” He couldn’t help but chuckle at her response.
“Well I always put on a show when I’m in the air.” Looking behind him Trevor eyes his F-15 admiring the fighter jet he proudly flies.
A few hours has passed since the group met their unenthusiastic hero of the skies currently Trevor was looking at a few pictures he got from Mist the mare insisted he keep.
“Yeah I miss the old squad It’s sad our last mission ended with them leaving doesn’t matter now” Trevor puts the pictures into his jacket as a yellow colored mare with a flame like mane and tail.
The mare looks over at Trevor eyeing up the human as he looked at her “I’m guessing your the one that dropped the dreadnought that was over ponyville?”
Hearing the question Trevor nods before getting up “Yeah I was names Trevor I’m the flight commander of the wonder bolts hell I’m the reason they’re around.” Smiling Trevor looks down at her waiting for her to talk.
Spitfire finds herself smiling at him “My names spitfire the captain of the wonder bolts I hope we can work together and run the wonder bolts correctly.” Trevor simply nods his head before looking at his jet.
“Oh we definitely will spitfire I’m sure of it I’m just glad I met you finally now that we’ve met how about you and me go for a few drinks tonight and talk business?” Hearing what Trevor asked and said Spitfire nods her head a motion Trevor understood.
