Celestia had just finished her royal duties inside the throne room. She had a smile of relief. She was a little tired, but despite that, she managed to stay awake, since she was used to having real duties all day. Celestia opened the golden door with her magic, and saw that her younger sister was already dining at the table. She came over to sit and saw that Luna was eating tomato soup.

Luna heard footsteps and saw Celestia, she soon smiled. “Good night sister! How was the royal duties in the throne room?”

“It was full, Luna. Many nobles came to me today to resolve matters of politics, economics,” Celestia replied as she sat on Luna’s left side. Her soup was vegetable. “What about you, Luna?”

“I slept well,” Luna replied with a smile as she took some of the soup from the plate with her spoon and ate.

Celestia looked at her soup, took the spoon with her magic, took some of the soup with her, and ate. The vegetable mix in her soup was good. While eating, she started thinking about Twilight. She wondered what her student was doing now. She would like to be able to spend time with her student before she goes to sleep, maybe after dinner she could send a letter to Twilight.

“But ... despite that, I have been feeling without company.” Luna looked at Celestia a little sadly.

Celestia looked confused by what Luna just said. “What do you mean, Luna?”

Luna was now scratching her knee with a front hoof. She was very nervous that Celestia could respond with what she had been feeling for the past few nights. “It’s just that Sister… these last nights… I have been alone without somepony to be with me. I mean, I have my video game so I can stay awake, but I would like a real company to stay with me tonight.”

“But Luna, who do you want for company?” asked Celestia. She was hoping it wasn’t Twilight, since she was the one who wanted to invite her to spend the night together.

“Twilight Sparkle. She was the only pony that showed no fear of me and that helped me at Nightmare Night,” Luna replied with a smile just remembering that night. As much as a month has passed since that holiday, Luna remembered that night as if it were yesterday. “After I have dinner, I plan to write her a letter.”

Celestia was speechless at Luna’s response. But she wanted to spend the night with Twilight. “But Luna ... I wanted to spend that night with Twilight, too.”

Luna looked at Celestia in surprise. “What? You too? But sister, I’ve been feeling lonely these last few, and she’s my only best friend I have.”

“I know that Twilight is your only best friend, Luna. But I wanted the company of Twilight so I could spend time with her.” Celestia explained to Luna why she wanted the company of Twilight.

“But what are we going to do then if we both want Twilight company on the same night?” asked Luna in a worried tone and with a raised hoof.

Celestia started to think of a solution while putting the hoof on her chin. How could they have Twilight company in one night? One thing she knew: whenever they finished dinner, they both went to their rooms, so there was no way Twilight could be in two rooms at the same time, Twilight would have to stay in one of the rooms, either hers or Luna’s. Celestia started to get an idea of how they could solve this. Maybe she could send a letter to Twilight saying that she and Luna needed her. She soon looked at Luna with a smile.

“Luna, I just had an idea if we can solve this,” said Celestia, all excited about her idea.

“What is your idea, Sister?” asked Luna, now curious about what Celestia’s idea would be.

“I’m going to send a letter to Twilight saying that we both need it and I’m going to state why we need her.”

Luna actually liked the idea. “It’s a good idea!”

“You’re welcome, Luna.” Celestia brought out a scroll, an ink and a red feather. She dipped the pen in the ink and started writing. Luna just watched her older sister write. After that, they both intended to go to their rooms, waiting for Twilight. One thing they knew: one would be happy to have Twilight company overnight and another would be alone and sad all night.

Twilight and Spike had just finished dinner. Spike took the two forks, the plates and glasses, and piled them up as he carried them into the kitchen. Twilight got up from the table and shelf to choose a book to read. There were so many choices of books on the shelves that she didn’t even know which one to choose to read now. There was fiction, non-fiction, romance, mystery, terror….

But Twilight’s thoughts about which book to choose were interrupted by a burp sound. Twilight’s ears perked up and she turned to go to the kitchen to see what happened.

“Spike? It’s all right?” asked Twilight, in a worried tone.

Upon reaching the kitchen, she saw Spike with a rolled scroll. “Yes, Twilight. I’m fine. But it looks like there’s a letter for you,” he showed the scroll to Twilight.

The parchment caught her eye. “A letter from the princess!” Twilight took it and opened the parchment to read it.

“Dear Twilight, I know it’s night time now and you should probably be having dinner, but when you’re done, could you go to Canterlot? Luna and I need your help. We were feeling alone tonight and we would like you to spend the night with us. But unfortunately you can only choose one of us to spend the night, since Luna and I don’t have a room we both sleep together. Luna and I are waiting for you in our rooms. Your teacher Celestia signed. ”

“So, Twilight? What’s written?” asked Spike, curious.

Twilight looked at Spike to answer. “The Princesses need my help at the castle.”

“What do they need help with?” asked Spike, even more curious.

“In the letter it are saying they were feeling alone these nights and would like me to spend the night with them, Spike,” Twilight replied, but soon her tone changed to concern as she looked at Spike. “Spike, can you be okay without me tonight?”

“Well, I won’t deny that I’m going to miss you, but if they need you at the castle, I can do it for you,” Spike replied.

Twilight smiled at the answer and hugged him. “Thank you, Spike.” Spike soon returned the hug with a smile.

Upon leaving the embrace, Twilight took her backpack, and put five books in the backpack before putting it on her back and leaving. If she was going to spend a night at the castle with the one of princesses, she was going to bring books to read with a princess. She just hoped the train wouldn’t be long in coming and that she wouldn’t be late at the castle. But she started to remember the antepenultimate part of the letter, she could only spend the night with one of the Royal Sisters. And now? Who should she choose to sleep with? Princess Celestia or Princess Luna?

Celestia was lying on her bed, waiting for Twilight. The color of the bedroom wall and floor were purple, the bed was purple but had a yellow blanket and pillow. Beside her was a piece of chocolate cake with strawberry icing, she always liked to have a snack before going to sleep. Unfortunately, Luna didn’t know that, but she knew that Celestia loved to eat cake. While Twilight didn’t arrive, she started thinking about the things she and Twilight could do together. Maybe they could talk about each other’s lives and then eat cakes together. Until that was not a bad idea, and then they could go to sleep together. It was a good plan for her. She just expected Twilight to come to her room.

Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door. She soon looked at the door with a smile, already wondering who it would be. “You may come in.”

As requested, the bedroom door opened, revealing Twilight, who after taking a few steps towards her, bowed formally. “Am I late, Princess?”

“Imagine, Twilight. You got there early,” Celestia replied in a friendly tone. “I already have some ideas of what we can do together.”

Twilight immediately looked at Celestia with an excited smile. “I also have plans for what we can do together, Princess!”

“You too? Which are?” asked Celestia, now curious, but she already wondered what it would be.

Twilight opened her backpack, and took the five books with her magic to show her mentor. “We can read these five books together! Don’t you think it’s fun? ”

Celestia laughed lightly and put a hoof close to her mouth. She loved that Twilight look. “Yes, Twilight. It sounds really fun.”

Twilight placed her books near Celestia’s bed, closed the bedroom door with her magic and lay down on the bed with Celestia. Celestia decided to embrace Twilight with a wing.

“How was your day in Ponyville today, my dear student?” asked Celestia with a smile.

When Twilight felt Celestia’s wings embrace, she couldn’t help but smile. “It’s fine, Princess. And you?”

“Many nobles came to me today to resolve matters of politics, economics,” Celestia replied. “I’m relieved that the day is over and that I can have a peaceful night.”

Twilight was happy for her teacher and princess. She started to think that Celestia must have had a busy day today. She looked to the left and saw a cake, she raised an eyebrow confusedly and looked back at Celestia.

“Princess, why is there a cake in the room?” asked Twilight confused.

“It’s my snack before I go to sleep,” Celestia replied as she took a piece of cake and bit it before offering Twilight a piece. “Would you like a piece?”

“No thanks, princess. I just finished dinner,” Twilight replied, but she soon became unsure. “Doesn’t that cause you indigestion in you?”

“No. I always eat cake when I’m in the room and it has never caused me indigestion before,” Celestia replied while chewing.

“Do you always eat cake before you go to sleep?” asked Twilight to be sure.

“Yes, Twilight. Whenever I finish dinner, I go to the fridge to get a cake for me to eat before going to sleep.”

Twilight immediately looked at her mentor, still unsure. “But are you sure that did it ever cause you indigestion?” asked Twilight to be sure.

“No. It never did. ”

Twilight decided to trust Celestia. “Well if it never did, then I guess I don’t have to worry,” she quickly picked up a book with her magic to read. But before she started reading, she looked at Celestia to ask. “Would you like to read a book with me, Princess?”

Celestia smiled at the invitation of Twilight. “Of course, Twilight.”

Twilight quickly looked back at the book, and opened it to start reading. What she noticed as she read, was that Celestia started to hug her, but it was no longer with the wing, but with the hooves.

After two hours of reading, the two had finished reading the five books. Celestia had stopped hugging her and yawned as she put a hoof close to her mouth and looked at Twilight with sleep on her face.

“Twilight, is it okay for us to go to sleep now?” asked Celestia wearily.

Twilight didn’t need glasses to realize that from the princess’s tone she was already tired. She wanted to stay awake and watch the stars with Celestia, but since her mentor was already tired, she wouldn’t even insist, since she knew that Celestia had to wake up early to get the sun up.

“Sure, princess,” replied Twilight.

Celestia soon lay down and closed her eyes. While Twilight lay down and settled in bed to fall asleep.

When Twilight finally managed to find a good sleeping position, she soon closed her eyes to sleep. But her eyes soon opened when she felt hooves wrap around her. Twilight looked at Celestia and saw that she had already fallen asleep. Twilight was obviously not surprised that Celestia fell asleep quickly, as her entire day was full of real duties. After a few minutes, she managed to relax and fall asleep, but not before returning the hug with the hooves.

Luna was sitting on her balcony with her front hooves on the balcony backer, watching the stars while thinking about Twilight. She was nervous. Would Twilight decide to spend the night with her or Celestia? She was hoping Twilight would choose her. But if Twilight decided to spend the night with Celestia, she would see her sister’s side, only that wouldn’t mean that she would be sad that Twilight didn’t spend time with her.

Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door. Luna’s ears perked up as she looked at the bedroom door with a smile. Could it be what she thought it was? Could it be Twilight? Did Twilight decide to spend the night with her? She decided to remove the front hooves of the supporter, got up from the balcony floor and entered the room.

“You can go in,” said Luna.

The door opened, revealing Twilight with a smile. Luna couldn’t believe what was in front of her eyes. Twilight really came to spend that night with her. For a moment, she thought Twilight would want to spend that night with her sister, but here she was! Twilight would spend the night with her!

Twilight approached Luna as she bowed. “Am I late, Princess?”

“No, Twilight,” Luna replied. “But you don’t have to be formal with me.”

Twilight stopped bowing and smiled nervously at the last sentence. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay, Twilight. I have an idea of what we can do that night before we go to sleep,” said Luna.

Twilight soon smiled excitedly. “Do you mean spending the whole night reading books? I brought five books from the library!”

“This too.”

Twilight was curious. There would be more activities besides reading? She wondered what other activities would be. “What are the others?”

“Watch the stars on the balcony and talk,” Luna replied.

Twilight smiled at what was said. These two activities that Luna had in mind sounded interesting. “And what will be the first activity that we will perform?”

“I was thinking of talking first,” Luna replied.

“And where will it be? On the balcony? Into bed? In floor? Or standing up?” asked Twilight.

“I believe that in bed it would be more comfortable to talk.”

Twilight thought they were going to chat on the floor or on the balcony, but although chatting in bed makes more sense, since the bed is much more comfortable to sit on. “Yeah. It even makes sense.”

The two approached the bed and sat down. Twilight put her backpack on the side of the bed and sat on the right side of the bed, while Luna sat on the left side.

Twilight decided she was going to start the conversation. “So, Luna, how are you? Any news?”

“I’m fine, Twilight. And as for something new, I do,” Luna replied with a smile just thinking about what happened today.

“What is the new?” asked Twilight with a smile. She was curious to know what has happened to Luna since their Nightmare Night.

“I bought a video game from the Power Ponies and managed to win the game in just three nights!” cried Luna in an excited tone.

“Do you play video game?” asked Twilight, now surprised.

“Yes. Since I returned to rule with my sister, I had lost my powers over the moon, which meant that I couldn’t even lower and raise the moon, and it made me sad and bored. So, Celestia introduced me to the video game, so from that day until Nightmare Night I was playing video games in my spare time.”

“And do you still play video games?” asked Twilight, now with a hoof lifting.

“Yes. But only during the night, as I spend most of the day sleeping.” Luna explained.

Twilight lowered the hoof. “How many video games do you have?”

“About ten, Twilight,” Luna replied.

Twilight remained surprised. She didn’t imagine that Luna had so many video games in her room.

“What about you, Twilight? Do you have any news?” asked Luna with a smile.

Upon recovering from the shock, Twilight thought about the last few days that had occurred before responding. “Yes. I have something new.”

“And what’s the news?” asked Luna, curious to know what happened again.

“Rainbow Dash adopted a turtle as a pet,” said Twilight as she recalled.

Luna raised an eyebrow curiously. “When did this happen? Was it more recent or it happened a few years ago?”

“This was recent. More or less, today,” Twilight replied.

Luna was happy for Rainbow. But a question came to her mind. “Is Rainbow the only one with a pet?”

“No, Luna. Rarity has a cat, Applejack has a dog, Fluttershy has several animals but the animal she takes special care of is a white rabbit, Pinkie has an alligator toe and I have an owl,” Twilight replied.

“But what about Spike?” asked Luna, now confused.

“Spike doesn’t count as a pet, as he is like a son to me. My relationship with him is nothing more than as a mother and son.” Twilight explained in detail to Luna.

Luna did not expect that answer. She thought Spike was a pet for Twilight. But she wouldn’t blame herself for that, since she wasn’t there when Twilight was just a filly to see Twilight care for Spike like a mother.

“Luna, would you like to spend time reading with me?” asked Twilight.

“Sure, Twilight,” Luna replied with a smile.

Twilight looked at her backpack on the floor, opened it and picked up the five books she brought to read. But in order for her to be able to read well and not have pain in her spine, she lay down on the bed. Luna lay down too.

Only after they finished reading the third book, Luna started to hug her with the front hooves. The hug seemed to want to snuggle her as she read, and it looked like it was working. Only after about five hours of Twilight reading the books, it caused her to sleep, resulting in her yawning.

Luna heard Twilight’s yawn and looked at her. “Twilight are you sleepy?”

Twilight looked at Luna to answer. “Yes. But before I go to sleep, I’m going to put my books in my backpack.”

Luna was a little sad that they didn’t watch the stars because Twilight got sleepy after finishing five books, but Luna wasn’t going to blame her. As Twilight was here to spend the night with her, she was already going to sleep too. She stood up, pulled out the blanket, lay down on the right side, covered herself and waited for Twilight.

Twilight took the five books that were on the bed, took her backpack, put them away, put them on the floor, got up from the bed, pulled out the blanket, lay down on the right side, and covered herself. But when Twilight was about to close her eyes and fall asleep, Luna wrapped her up and huddled her with her hooves so that Twilight slept very comfortably. Luna soon fell asleep after that, but Twilight was still awake, because she was surprised that Luna wanted to snuggle her now, especially now that they were going to sleep. It was as if Luna wanted to snuggle Twilight so she could sleep well. But after about five minutes, she managed to relax in the embrace and soon fell asleep.
