(Happens after DisneyFanatic's Daughter of Discord) Fluttershy and Discord are expecting a third foal. Things go as downhill as you would expect.
A/N: This fanfiction has been in the works for a couple years and I am putting some final touches on it. I know some of you wanted me to put this back on (with editing) after I took it down, so here it is. Tell me your thoughts, please and do not sugarcoat my mistakes. Point them out and I will listen and work on it. Also, the tags/rating may change as I go.
It's been 20 years and Discord has been happily married to Fluttershy. They had just become the grandparents to their only daughter, Screwball. Their son, Zany, had no spouse. Screwball was married to the former prince Mothball, son of Queen Chrysalis. Mothball and Screwball had a single daughter named Moonlight. Moonlight has a light lavender coat, a long wavy turquoise mane with a stripe of white, she has her father's see-through wings, and has green swirly eyes. Even though she was the granddaughter of the Lord of Chaos, she had inherited nothing from him except for a small fang protruding from her upper lip. All of Fluttershy's friends had families too. But, Discord and Fluttershy wanted to extend their family a bit more. So now, Fluttershy was expecting another foal. Which, just like Screwball had, came way sooner than they expected.
Chrysalis’ Revenge Chapter One By: Coco Candy
Three months were left of Fluttershy’s pregnancy, Discord and Fluttershy were sitting out in the garden in front of their "Castle of Chaos' on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Discord was reading a mildly interesting newspaper he had found in an alternate dimension called 'The Quibbler' and Fluttershy was happily feeding her beloved animals while humming an uplifting tune. Everything was quiet, with the exception of soft chewing and humming, when Fluttershy yelled out, scaring away the animals and startling Discord. He rushed to his beloved wife’s side and lifted her chin to face him. Scared and still a bit startled, he asked her "Fluttershy, what's wrong?"
She looked up with an equally scared and startled look and whimpered "I think the baby is coming early!"
Discord swiftly stood up, helping his whimpering wife to her hooves “What?! But it’s not due till three months from now!”
She angrily turned to face him “Well, I’m sorry! But this is another child of the LORD OF CHAOS!!”
‘Wow’ Discord thought to himself ‘She is so cute when she’s angry.’
Discord scooped up his wife and warped them to the emergency room, where Nurse Redheart was expected to be.
All the while, the rest of their friends were going about their day. Applejack and Spike were helping Twilight do her regular ‘re-shelving’ of all of her books in her library, Rarity was sewing baby clothes for the baby Fluttershy was supposed to be expecting three months later, and Rainbow Dash was with Soarin, pranking Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich on their date with one of their lightning bolts. Just as Dash and Soarin zapped Pinkie and Cheese, all of them were transported to the Emergency Room too. Some of the ponies fell to the ground, confused, others shook off their confusion and looked around just in time to see a multi-colored something blur by. They finally noticed each other's presence mere moments later.
Rarity gasped when she saw Pinkie and Cheese’s state. "What happened to your hair?", she squealed, rushing over with a brush. No one else had noticed the duo’s new look other than Rarity so, upon seeing them, Dash and Soarin hoof-bumped while trying not to laugh. Due to being zapped, Pinkie PIe and Cheese Sandwich’s, normally bouncy mane, was sticking up in random places and the ends were tinged black.
Pinkie and her husband started giggling which turned into huge amounts of laughter which spread to all of the beings in the area. The laughter was contagious but Spike quickly got over it, “Hold up, why are we all in the emergency room?”
The group looked around and mumbled to each other, clearly at a loss for the answer. Rainbow Dash and Soarin decided they would find out and flew off, quickly finding a doctor who was galloping at full speed. The two pegasi sped in front and stopped him.
“Hey!” They landed in front of him.
Dash started talking to him with a hint of annoyance in her voice, “Sorry to stop… whatever you’re doing but I was wondering if you could possibly know why we are here?” Soarin had flown off but came back with a cup of water in his hooves. They let the doctor drink and take deep breaths before waiting for an answer.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Soarin of the Wonderbolts and Mrs. Rainbow Dash”, he coughed and straightened out, “I’m sure that Discord must have brought you here due to-”
"Discord?', Rainbow Dash interrupted with a now extremely worried look on her face.
Soarin put a hoof on her shoulder and turned to the doctor, finishing her thought, "Wait... is Fluttershy..?"
"Yep, Fluttershy is having her foal three months early!", the doctor finished, a hint of worry in his voice. With that, he ran off again, continuing on the way he was going, eventually leading to the room where the multi-colored blur had gone into. Dash and her partner flew back to where she had left her friends and relayed the information they had gotten from the doctor.
Applejack gasped and held onto a stone-faced Spike, Rarity fainted and Twilight had to catch her, and the party ponies were happy about having an early birthday party. Twilight looked up from Rarity,"Wait, why aren't Screwball, Mothball, Moonlight, or Zany here?"
Twilight had just finished her thought when a small pop and a loud bang came from down the hall. The group turned to see four familiar faces
"Can you warn me before you do that?", Mothball muttered, placing a hoof to his head.
"Sorry, sweetheart!", Screwball giggled, helping her husband up from the floor.
"Sheesh, dad, it was just a tiny teleportation.", Moonlight murmured, rolling her eyes. She turned around to see all of her ‘aunts’ and ‘uncles’ there too. Moonlight ran up and gave her Aunt Applejack a big hug while Zany turned to Twilight, "So, did dad bring you guys here?". Twilight nodded nervously and Zany laughed, "So, our newest sibling is just as impatient as Screwy was!"
Screwball lightly slapped her brother, an embarrassed blush spreading on her face.
Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich looked like they were about to burst with excitement so when Mothball suggested going to the waiting room, those two were the first ones in there.
Thirty minutes had passed since their arrival and Screwball had brought in a few more ponies to join them: Dinky Doo, Fancy Pants, and Flash Sentry. All of them were talking quietly when a doctor came in with a large smile on his face, “I am happy to say that Fluttershy has successfully given birth to a fully grown baby girl!” The Discord siblings sighed in relief and Zany asked, “Can we see our newest member?”
The doctor motioned for them to follow him and they walked down the corridor, Screwball and Zany on his tail with the rest of the group trying to catch up. Together, they entered the room where they were able to see the nursery. They looked around for a small amount of time before spotting a claw and a paw stick up, out of one of the cradles. Flash noticed that it was surprisingly quiet in the room and looked around, “Wait, where is Pinkie and Cheese?” Rarity tapped his shoulder and pointed to the cradle that held the filly. Standing over the cradle was PInkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich. To everyone’s dismay, Pinkie was holding a handful of balloons and her party cannon was at her side, and Cheese was holding a cake that said ‘Happy Birthday, Baby!’ and had strung up a banner that said the same thing. Applejack was about to run into the room to stop them from waking up the babies when Nurse Redheart came charging in and shooed them out, tearing down the banner and rolling out the party cannon. When she shoved the two back into the room with the rest of their friends, Pinkie groaned, “Oh come on!” Cheese Sandwich grumbled, “I haven’t done a birthday party in forever.”
Soarin scoffed and his wife rolled her eyes, “Please, Cheese, you did a party for Prism just last week!”
“So, doc?”, Spike, turned back to the window, “She looks like her father?” The doctor walked up to the window and stood next to him, “Yes, but I left the room before I could find out anything else, so you will have to go to Discord for more information.”
“Come to me for what?”, a familiar deep voice came out of nowhere. They all turned to see their draconequus friend on the ceiling.
Fancy Pants laughed a bit, “Discord, old friend, why are you here instead of with Fluttershy?”
Discord chuckled to himself as he flipped over and floated to the ground, next to Twilight, “Well, you know, she fell asleep after a while so I figured I should let her sleep while I checked on our daughter, Illusion.”
Rarity walked up to her husband and turned to Discord, “So, you named her Illusion?”
Discord nodded excitedly, “She also has my powers, just like Zany and Screwy!”
Ditzy turned to Screwball with a mix of worried and curiosity in her goofy voice, “You’ve been quiet, Screwy. Are you all right?”
“Huh?”, Screwball snapped out of her thoughts and looked up, “Oh, sorry, I was just thinking..”, she looked back down, suddenly super interested in the hospital’s tile floor. Discord walked up to her on all fours, the ceiling making it impossible for him to stand upright. Zany noticed that his happy expression had been replaced by a sad and knowing expression. He used his paw to lift her chin up to face him., “I think I know what’s on your mind, Screwy.”
They both looked to the window as the mismatched hands reached out of the cradle again.
“You’re worried what the other colts and fillies are going to think, right?.”
She looked around, her eyes met Dinky’s. Both of them thought about their fillyhood experiences. Thankfully, the bullies don’t really mess with them now but it hurt back then.
“I just don’t want what happened to me to happen to her.”
Dinky walked up to the two of them and hugged Screwball. Dinky knew that was what she needed. Discord smiled, he was glad that Screwball had found such caring friends at such a young age, “You know, your mother thought of that too.”
This caught Screwball’s attention fast. She broke her hug with Dinky and looked back to her smiling father,
“Do you think, if Illusion got homeschooled, that would make you feel better?”
Screwball nodded excitedly, no longer with any hint of sadness or worry on her face. She jumped up and hugged her dad tightly then turned back to the baby. She noticed that her daughter, Moonlight was looking at her aunt with wide eyes. Screwball scooted closer to her and bent down, whispering, “Moony? Can I count on you to look out for Illusion?”
Moonlight turned to her mother and saluted with a determined look on her face“You can count on me! But.. uh, how is it she’s my aunt when i’m older?”
Screwball giggled, Moonlight was always one to question everything. Discord said that she got it from her mother. If only they knew what trouble this third child was going to bring.
It was early afternoon one Wednesday, and Screwball, Mothball, and Moonlight were heading up to Discord’s castle. Ever since Illusion had been born, Moonlight had a playdate with her every Wednesday. The trio walked up to the front door and heard a loud clatter coming from inside, which was accompanied with a yell that sounded like it belonged to Discord. Mothball threw the door open, “Hey! Is everything-”
They took a good look around and saw many things happening all at once.
Mothball walked further inside, “-alright?”
Inside the castle, the furniture was floating around of its own free will with Fluttershy trying to put it back. In the back, Discord was chasing a giggling blur as it maneuvered around the floating furniture. Moonlight, Mothball, and Screwball all walked inside and shut the door behind them. At the sound of the door shutting, Fluttershy turned around to see the trio.
“Oh! Hello guys!” she said cheerfully, flying over to them “Uh… excuse the mess.”
Screwball giggled “Would you like us to help?” Fluttershy sighed “Yes please”
Screwball bent down to whisper into Moonlight’s ear and they both laughed a bit. Moonlight stepped forward, into view. “Hey! Illusion! You too busy for your niece all of a sudden?!” she called out.
The blur came to a screeching halt and flipped around to face the ponies at the door. DIscord, unfortunately, didn’t stop fast enough and ran face first into the wall. Illusion floated over to Moonlight “What do you mean by that? Of course I’m not busy! I was just having a little fun.” she added with a smug grin on her face as she waved to the mess.
Illusion was an interesting filly. Illusion had a lion paw and eagle claw for her forelegs, two different colored hooves for her back legs, mismatched eyes, two colors of fur, and her horn was like Discord’s blue goat horn. Her hair was a soft shade of pink with a stripe of white going down the middle.
Moonlight flew up so they were at the same eye level “Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” WIth a small pop, the two fillies were transported to Illusion’s room. Fluttershy sighed “Now to clean up this mess.”
Mothball stepped forward, putting his hoof on her shoulder “Don’t sweat it, I can handle it.” He lit his horn and all of the furniture went back to where it was supposed to belong. Fluttershy hugged him gratefully “Oh, thank you, Mothball. You’re so sweet.”
“Like I said before, don’t sweat it, Mrs. Shy.” he answered, his cheeks getting a pink tinge to them.
“Just call me Fluttershy.” she said, chuckling as she backed away “I am your mother-in-law, after all.”
“Good.” Screwball whispered under her breath “Mothy got mom onto a first name basis. Now he just has to convince dad-”
“Convince dad to do what?” Discord asked slowly, walking up to stand next to Screwball.
Screwball yelped in surprise “What?! Nothing!”
He smirked “Mmhmm… suuure.” he popped up in front of her “What were you going to say? What was it?”
She shook her head, backing away, a nervous smile on her face “Nothing, nothing!” Screwball wanted to desperately get out of this awkward situation. She got her wish, but not in the way she expected. A loud sound came from upstairs. It sounded like… breaking glass. Another crash, and this time, all of the creatures in the room were on alert. Mothball broke out of the spell first and sprinted to the stairs. The rest followed quickly after. They ran to Illusion’s room and saw Mothball standing in the doorway, his mouth hanging open, ears flattened, and a look of horror and shock on his face.
He walked inside and the rest followed him inside. They gasped when they saw the room.
The large window that faced the Everfree forest was broken, which explained the sound of glass breaking. They saw that Illusion's old dollhouse that she had gotten for her birthday was knocked over. There were also puddles of gloppy, green goo on the ground. Discord and Screwball went around, inspecting the room, carefully avoiding the broken glass.
"What happened?" Fluttershy whispered in horror. Mothball watched as Discord looked at one of the puddles. He flew over the wreckage to join him by to goo. Mothball picked up a piece of it and brought it closer to his face to look. Something clicked in his mind, and it also clicked in Discord's head. Mothball could feel Discord's gaze burn into the back of his head as he called for the attention of everyone in the room.
"I know what happened here." He said quietly, but loud enough for everyone to hear. He noticed that Screwball and Fluttershy had the same thought.
"No..." Screwball whispered, starting to hyperventilate "No.. it can't be.. not Chrysali-"
"Do not" Discord snapped angrily "say that name." All four of them had flashbacks from that fateful day when Mothball wasn't able to warn Screwball about his mother soon enough, how Chrysalis almost killed both Discord and Fluttershy, and how Discord and Screwball was tricked into going on a rampage. Discord sighed "She has torn apart this family too many times." He put his head in his hands "When will she stop? When will she realize that she's done enough?"
Fluttershy flew over to him and hugged him tightly. After a few moments, they broke the hug and looked at eachother. "What are we going to do?" Fluttershy asked him quietly.
"We are going to go rescue our girls!" Screwball spoke up, pumping her fist into the air with a determined look on her face.
Fluttershy looked around the room "Alright, I'll go get the girls. We might need to use the elements."
"We may not need them" Mothball muttered quietly "but it is good to bring them along, just in case."
Fluttershy and Discord left to get the girls and the Elements of Harmony, leaving Screwball and Mothball to clean up Illusion's room. As they were cleaning, Screwball ran over to Mothball, all glass forgotten.
"Oh, Mothy..." Screwball whispered, her eyes filling up with water "I'm so worried... what if-"
Mothball put his hoof to her lips to silence her "She is strong, Screwy. Don't worry."
Screwball nodded silently and Mothball leaned down to kiss her lightly on the lips. They pulled back and went back to cleaning the wrecked room.
Moonlight moaned lightly, rubbing her head with her hoof. "Woah.. what? What happened?" she whispered. Moonlight looked around, letting her eyes adjust to the dark room. She studied the room around them and saw that she was in a small cage, the bars made of green spiderwebs. The walls around her, she noticed, were moving. Looking closer, she saw that the walls itself weren't moving, the walls were shifting and changing every second. As she was looking around, she remembered what had happened hours earlier. She looked around, curiosity shifting into worry and horror in a few seconds.
"Illusion? Illusion, are you there? Where are you?!"
"Moon?" someone murmured sleepily from Moonlight's left "Why are you being so loud?"
“Ilusion, don’t panic but…” Moonlight bit her tongue, trying to find a good way to explain it, “I think we just got foalnapped.”
“WHAT?!” Illusion yelled out. Alright, so that didn’t work out too well. Illusion started to panic, her breathing becoming fast and shallow.
“Hey, hey! What did I say?” Moon said exasperatedly “I literally just said not to panic.”
“The prisoners are awake, my queen.” A voice said out of nowhere with a slight buzz to the end of each word.
“Who’s there?!” Illusion called out, trying to see past the bars of her cage.
“Good. Thank you, general” another voice said, but this one was female and didn’t have a buzz like the other one.
There was a buzz of wings and a bug-like pony came into view. “Well, well, well.” she said, buzzing back and forth between the two cages.
“Who are you?” Moonlight said defensively, standing up in her cage so that she was at the same level as this strange pony. The creature looked offended. “Have your parents not told stories about me?” she looked at their confused faces “No? Well, I am Queen Chrysalis. And you two are my prisoners.”
Moonlight looked closer at the appearance of this ‘queen chrysalis’. ‘She looks alot like dad…’ she thought to herself, her mind spinning. Chrysalis flew closer to Moonlight’s cage and looked at her with the same interest.
“Huh, I thought my granddaughter would inherit my looks.” she scoffed “I guess not.”
“Yes. You see, Mothball is my son.” she rolled her eyes “Well, used to be. He’s just a traitor now.”
“No he’s not!” Moon said defiantly, sitting down and glaring at Chrysalis “Daddy is a good pony!”
“Changeling.” Illusion corrected.
“Whatever!” Moonlight said, shaking her head “Either way, I do not what a grandmother that foalnapps her own grandchildren.”
Chrysalis shrugged and replied,“Oh, don’t take it personally. This is mainly to get back at your fathers-” she stopped and tapped her chin in thought then added “-again.”
Both Moonlight and Illusion thought about this. What did she mean by ‘again’? “General Mantis!” Chrysalis barked suddenly, startling both of the girls.
“Yes, my queen?” the male voice from before replied. Moon watched as Chrysalis flew down to the ground and landed next to another changeling, but this one was smaller than her and had different features all along his bug-like body.
“Make sure these two stay put.” Chrysalis ordered then left the room. Moonlight waited until she was out of earshot till talking.
“Ugh,” she groaned “Why can’t I just have a normal grandmother?”
“I dunno, bad luck?” Illusion suggested. She tried to use her powers to get out of her cage but nothing happened. “Wait, Moon? My magic it’s..”
“Not working?” General Mantis asked, flying up to them “Yeah, the queen’s throne stops any outside magic from working.” Moon heard a jingling sound and saw that he brought the keys to the cages with him.
“Why do you-” Moonlight started to ask but stopped when he opened the cages. Moon and Illusion quickly got out but were confused.
“Uh, General Mantis, is it?” Illusion asked. He nodded so she continued. “Why are you helping us?”
He sighed quietly “Because her majesty has hurt your families too many times.” He turned his back to them and added under his breath “and because I want to prove that not all changelings are heartless.”
Moonlight guessed he didn't want her to hear that last bit but she did anyway. He turned back to them “Come on, you can get lost in this maze of a palace if you aren’t a changeling.” They walked through the many holes and walls of the changeling kingdom but soon enough, Moonlight, Illusion, and Mantis found the way out into the dry, barren land surrounding the kingdom. Illusion was about to teleport her and Moon home but Moonlight stopped her.
“Wait, Mantis? Won’t you get in trouble?” she asked him.
He nodded without hesitation “Severely.” he added grimly.
Illusion saw where she was going with this so she offered him to come with them. “I’m sure daddy will understand.” Moonlight added. After a moment of hesitation, Mantis accepted and they left the changeling kingdom behind.
