Love is in bloom
Twenty years had passed. Twenty years since Twilight was crowned the new ruler of Equestria and adopted Cozy as her daughter. Twilight was now an adult alicorn and wore now, in addition to the crown, a golden perk. Spike, now an adult dragon, continued to use his medallion. Cozy despite being an adult mare, she didn’t stop wearing the white bow on her mane.
Cozy was no longer emotionally broken as in the past. Since Twilight adopted her, she has been feeling happier every day with the company of Twilight. Although some ponies doubted of her reform, Twilight as ruler, explained to the ponies that her had really changed and that she was sorry for what she did to everypony. As the days and months passed, the ponies began to gain the confidence of the pegasus filly, but gradually.
Twilight and Cozy were flying in the sky together. Although Cozy is enjoying the air tour. She didn’t know if she and Twilight were going anywhere or if they were just taking a walk in the sky. She looked at Twilight.
“Mom, are we going somewhere?” asked Cozy curiously.
Twilight looked at Cozy and smiled. “Yes. We are going to the Crystal Empire to see Flurry Heart.”
Cozy was confused to hear the name Flurry Heart. She had no idea who it was.
“Flurry Heart?” asked the skin-colored pegasus mare.
“Cadence passed the throne to Flurry when she became an adult mare. She is the princess of the Crystal Empire now, daughter.” explained Twilight.
Cozy smiled. “I didn’t know there was such a city in Equestria,” but her smile fell, because she wanted to know something else. “What are we going to be doing there?”
“I’m going to have a little chat with Flurry Heart,” replied Twilight.
“Can I talk to her too, mom?” asked Cozy, excited to meet Flurry.
“Of course you can, daughter.”
Soon, the two posed on the ground, closed their wings, the guards allowed them to enter and entered the crystal castle.
While Twilight looked forward with a smile, Cozy admired the decoration of the crystal castle. The walls were light blue crystalline colors and the floor was transparent blue. Cozy saw her own reflection. She couldn’t help noticing how much she grew up, both mature and physically. She didn’t have a good past, as she never had a family, and that loneliness caused her to want power. Because for her in the past, the important thing wasn’t to have friends, but to have power. But now everything has changed, she was reformed and had a mother who cared for her.
Twilight opened the purple door with her magic. When opening, she had several crystal guards, and who sat on the throne was a pink alicorn mare, purple and light blue mane and light blue eyes. The pink alicorn wore a silver crown and perk. Cozy gaped at the sight of the alicorn in front of her. So this was Flurry Heart?
“Flurry Heart!” shouted Twilight as she approached Flurry.
Flurry smiled, got up from her throne and went to Twilight. “Auntie Twilight!”
When the two got very close, they embraced. “I missed you, Auntie Twilight,” said Flurry.
“Me too, Flurry.” agreed Twilight Sparkle.
Flurry noticed and saw a pegasus-colored mare with a light blue mane with a white bow. She soon looked at Twilight.
“Twilight, who is she?” asked Flurry.
“It’s Cozy Glow. My adopted daughter,” replied Twilight.
Flurry went over to Cozy to greet her. She and Cozy started to swing their hooves. “Hi, Cozy Glow. My name is Flurry Heart.”
Flurry stopped greeting Cozy, but continued to smile. She turned and looked at Twilight.
“Twilight, how have your days been as Equestria ruler in Canterlot?” asked Flurry.
“They are doing well, Flurry Heart. When I’m busy in the throne room, Cozy keeps me and Spike company,”’Twilight replied. “But when I have no real duties, I spend time with Cozy Glow. Most of the time, reading with her during my days and free time. ”
Flurry laughed with joy at the last sentence as she put a hoof close to her mouth and closed her eyes. “You never change, Auntie Twilight,” she opened her eyes and put the hoof back on the floor, but continued to smile.
Twilight laughed in return. “What can I do? I love books. Just because I’m governing Equestria now, it doesn’t stop me from doing what I like.”
Cozy smiled at the scene she saw. She never imagined that her mother was Flurry’s niece. An idea came to her mind. She just needed to ask Flurry if she wanted to do this.
“Princess Flurry Heart.” started Cozy as she approached Flurry Heart and Twilight.
The two looked at Cozy with smiles on their faces. “Yes, Cozy Glow?” asked Flurry with a smile.
“Would you like to take a walk with me in the Crystal Empire, princess Flurry Heart?” asked Cozy as she stopped walking.
“Of course, Cozy Glow. Today I have no real duty,” Flurry answered.
Cozy Glow smiled with joy at the answer. “We will be best friends forever!”
“And since we’re going to be friends, you don’t have to be formal with me. Just call me Flurry Heart,” said Flurry.
“Ok, Flurry,” said Cozy, still smiling.
“While you two go out together, I’m going to be in the library reading books.” Twilight started to walk out of the throne room. Cozy and Flurry watched Twilight leave before doing the same.
As they left the castle, Cozy looked at Flurry. “Flurry Heart, I have never seen this city before. I don’t know where we could go,” she said sadly.
Flurry looked at Cozy and hugged her with a wing. “Don’t be sad, Cozy. I have an idea of where we could go.”
Cozy smiled hopefully. “Really? Where?”
“We could eat a corn cob and then we could go to the park to talk.” suggested Flurry.
“It’s a good idea.” Cozy agreed now with a smile.
After buying each ear of corn, they decided to sit on a bench to eat. While Flurry held her corn cob with her magic, Cozy held with her hooves. What Flurry didn’t realize was that Cozy was looking at her with a smile as she ate the ear of corn. Cozy couldn’t help but notice that Flurry was beautiful. Mainly for the colors of the mane, the coat and the eyes. She didn’t know what that feeling was called, but she liked to feel it.
When they finished eating their ears of corn, they decided to go to the park to spend time together. Cozy started to think about what that feeling would be like.
Upon entering, there were some mares and stallions watching their foals playing ball, others jumping ropes and others playing tag.
They saw an empty white bench. Smiling, they went to him and sat down. Flurry was sitting on the right side of the bench, and Cozy on the left side. While Flurry watched her subjects, Cozy looked at Flurry with a smile. She couldn’t take her eyes off Flurry. Although she liked to feel it, she didn’t know if that was what a friend felt. She needed to ask Twilight about what that feeling might be like later.
Twilight and Cozy were now back at Canterlot Castle. Cozy was on the balcony of her and Twilight’s room, sitting, staring at the stars. For some reason, she couldn’t get Flurry Heart out of her head.
I wonder what Flurry Heart is doing now? Would she be sleeping? Or was she still awake? I wish I could send a letter to her. But unfortunately, I don’t have unicorn magic to send a letter directly to her, just my mom.
Suddenly, Cozy heard the door open. She looked back and saw Twilight, looking at her with a smile. Twilight approached her daughter.
“Did you enjoy spending the afternoon with Flurry Heart, daughter?” asked Twilight as she sat on Cozy’s left side.
Cozy, now looking up at the stars with a smile, replied, “Yes, mom. I had so much fun.”
“How nice. What did you do? Did you go to a library?”
Cozy Glow laughed at the last question as she put a hoof close to her mouth. Her mother was always like that. She put the hoof back on the floor.
“No mother. First, the first two of us ate an ear of corn and then we went to the park,” Cozy replied.
Twilight looked a little sad, as it didn’t involve books and libraries. But she soon returned to smile and looked at Cozy.
“Did you have fun in the Flurry Heart castle library?” asked Cozy.
“Yes. I had fun, daughter,” she replied. “There were several books about the Crystal Empire.”
Cozy decided to take advantage of the fact that Twilight was still awake for her to ask something that has been asking her since she hang out with Flurry today. “Mom.”
“Yes, daughter?” asked Twilight, listening intently.
“I would like to ask you something.” started Cozy.
“What would you like to ask, daughter?” asked Twilight as she hugged Cozy with a wing.
“Since Flurry and I went out together this afternoon, I don’t know what that feeling that blossomed in me was, but when I was around her today, I couldn’t help but notice that she was beautiful, I kept thinking about her and that I wanted to spend time with Flurry,” Cozy replied. “Mom, what is this feeling that came when Flurry and I spent the afternoon at the Crystal Empire? Is it normal for a friend to feel this way about each other?”
“Daughter, unfortunately what you are feeling is not what friends feel,” Twilight replied, now sad. Cozy Glow pouted as she looked sad. “... But that’s what a marefriend and coltfirend feel for each other.” Twilight ended while her smile returned.
Cozy was surprised. “So... what I feel for Flurry Heart is love and not friendship?”
“Yes, daughter,” Twilight replied.
Cozy still looked surprised by this revelation that was given to her while looking at the floor and her ears were down. So what she felt before for Flurry wasn’t what a friend felt, but what a marefriend and coltfriend felt? She would never have imagined that. She thought that this feeling that she felt was something common and that all friends felt for each other. But if so, how was she going to confess to Flurry? She didn’t even know how she could do this.
“Mom, I need your help,” Cozy said. “Could you help me please?”
“Of course I can help you, Cozy,” the purple alicorn replied. “What do you need my help with?”
Cozy Glow looked to the side while blushing. “Help me confess to Flurry Heart,” she looked at her mother again. “Do you have any idea how I could confess to Flurry?”
“Yes. I have an idea of how you could manage to confess to Flurry Heart, yes,” Twilight replied with a smile.
Cozy perked up as she put the front hooves on Twilight Sparkle’s chest. “Could you tell me your ideas now? Please!” Cozy’s pupils increased as she spoke the last sentence.
Twilight laughed at Cozy’s reaction as her eyes closed. “Of course I can tell you my idea.”
Cozy Glow’s pupils returned to normal size as she took her hooves off Twilight’s chest and put them back on the floor.
“Cozy, you could invite Flurry somewhere so that you could confess to her.” Twilight told Cozy about her idea.
Cozy had to confess the idea of Twilight was a good one, but she had no idea where she should confess to Flurry. “It’s a good idea, mom. But I don’t know where I should confess to her. Do you have somewhere in mind?”
“Well, you went to the park with Flurry today, why don’t you invite her to the park again, but to confess your feelings to her?” sugested Twilight.
“It’s a good idea, mom. But will she feel the same as I do?” asked Cozy.
Twilight put a wing around Cozy while smiling. “I’m sure.”
Suddenly, Twilight yawned as she closed her eyes and put a hoof close to her mouth. She looked at Cozy.
“Well, daughter. I’m going to sleep. Good night,” said Twilight as she took her wing around Cozy, got up and left the balcony.
Cozy looked at Twilight. “Good night, mom,” she watched her mom go to the big bed, lie down, cover herself and close her eyes and then she looked back at the stars. But even though her eyes were focused on the stars, her thoughts were on Flurry again.
She blew out a breath. Yeah. It looked like there was no way she could communicate with Flurry. It was a pity, since she really wanted to talk to Flurry. She got up from the floor, entered the room, approached the bed, sat on the bed, took the blanket from her mouth, covered herself and slept. But even though she was sleeping, her dreams were about Flurry.
Cozy felt the sun’s rays reach her. She turned to the left. She didn’t want to get up. Not yet. Not after the beautiful dreams she had with Flurry.
“Daughter, wake up.” Twilight nudged Cozy lightly with a hoof.
Cozy, still with her eyes closed, said, “hhhm… not yet… let me sleep, mom…”
“I understand, daughter,” Twilight realized, now smiling. “But we need to have breakfast.”
Cozy turned to the right, opened her eyes tiredly and looked at Twilight. “Can’t I eat later?” she asked as she pouted in hopes of convincing Twilight to let her sleep some more.
Twilight started to think. Should she let Cozy sleep? In a few minutes, she would have to go to the throne room. But as Cozy was already an adult mare, she soon made up her mind.
“Ok. I will warn the cooks not to take the food off the table when I go to the throne room so you can eat,” said Twilight.
Cozy smiled at the answer. “Thanks, mom,” she turned the other way and went back to sleep.
Twilight started to walk out of the room and closed the door with her magic. She just hoped that Cozy wouldn’t wake up so late.
After two hours of sleeping, Cozy finally woke up and got out of bed. But before going to the dining room, she arranged the blanket. The blanket was light in color with white clouds. When finished, she left the room. And again, just like last night, her thoughts went to Flurry. Maybe she could write a letter to Flurry, so Twilight would magically send it to her before she went to see Flurry. But the idea of visiting Flurry, was what she most wanted to do after eating, since she thought Twilight would already be in the throne room after a few hours had passed since she fell asleep.
Cozy opened the dining room door with a hoof. She saw that Twilight wasn’t in the dining room. And as Twilight promised her, the cooks haven’t taken food off the table yet. Cozy, smiling, went over to the pancakes and started eating. She started to think about Flurry again. Would Flurry accept to be with her? She hoped so.
When she finished eating, the cooks went to the table to get the dishes. Cozy got up from the chair and flew out of the dining room and went to the balcony of her room. She just hoped that Flurry would return what she felt.
Upon landing on the crystal floor, she went towards the crystal castle. She started to think about how she was going to talk and confess to Flurry.
Maybe, should I start by telling Flurry Heart that she is beautiful?
Cozy hit a hoof on the forehead as he closed her eyes. No. Speaking of this, I will already play in the face that I like her. She took the hoof off her forehead while opened her eyes.
When she arrived at the Crystal Castle door, the two royal purple crystal guards allowed her to pass, as Cozy was practically Flurry’s niece. As she walked, she returned to thinking how she should declare herself to Flurry. But she did know one thing. She would declare in an unhurried manner.
The door to the throne room opened with the magic of the two royal unicorn guards who were on the left and one on the right. Cozy came in and saw that Flurry, to her surprise, was just sitting on the throne. She wasn’t signing any parchment with a quill and had no pony or several in the room wanting to speak to her. Flurry didn’t seem to notice the presence of the pegasus mare. Cozy smiled cheerfully. This was her chance to invite Flurry out with her. She approached Flurry.
“Flurry Heart!” said Cozy in an excited tone.
Flurry looked ahead and saw Cozy. Smiling, she went over to Cozy.
“Cozy Glow!” Flurry said in an excited tone as well. “Did you return to see me?”
Cozy, still smiling, replied, “Yes. I would like to ask you out again, since you’re not busy for what I am seeing. You accept?”
“Of course I do,” Flurry replied with a smile. “Sitting on the throne all day is boring. But where are we going?”
“Let’s go to the park,” replied Cozy.
Flurry, still smiling, started walking. “So come on then,” Cozy followed.
As they walked, Cozy started to wonder how she was going to confess to Flurry.
Upon arriving at the park, the two mares realized that there were almost no ponies in the place, only at the entrance. Cozy was relieved about this, because no one but Flurry will hear her statement.
Cozy spotted a bench in the distance and pointed at it. “Look! A bank! Let’s sit over there!”
They approached the bench and sat down. And like yesterday, Flurry sat on the right side of the bench and Cozy on the left. While Flurry looked at the landscape, Cozy looked to the side while looking from corner of eye to Flurry. She was nervous. She didn’t know how she was going to speak. Maybe she should start by saying that she wanted to talk to Flurry. That’s it! That was what she was going to do.
She looked at Flurry. “Flurry Heart.”
Flurry looked at Cozy with a smile. “Yes?”
“I ... I would like to tell you something.” started Cozy.
“You can talk. I’m listening,” said Flurry intently.
Gozy started to blush, resulting in her looking nervously at the left side. “Since I came here with Twilight, and I met you... from the beginning... I wanted to be your best friend, but... after the day we spent yesterday and then, I realized that I couldn’t get you out of my head...”
Flurry was surprised by the last sentence. Couldn’t Cozy get her out of her head?
“... I always thought about you be so beatiful, I thought it was because it was a friend always thought, but last night I realized that what I felt was not felings of friendship, but feelings of love,” Cozy looked at Flurry, now more blushed. “Flurry, would you like to be my marefriend?”
Flurry was surprised by this confession, but she soon smiled. “Yes. I accept.”
Cozy was happy with the answer. Did Flurry said she accept to be her marefriend?
“D-Did you say you accept to be my marefriend?” asked Cozy to be sure.
“Yes, I said I accept,” Flurry confirmed, still with a smile. “Since you came to visit me yesterday, I have enjoyed spending time with you. And when you went back to Canterlot with Auntie Twilight, I couldn’t get you out of my head.”
Cozy was very happy. She couldn’t believe what she heard from Flurry. Flurry really felt the same way she did. Now that she and Flurry are marefriend, she wanted to give Flurry something, so that Flurry could remember this day, and she already had in mind what she was going to give. Cozy looked at Flurry.
“Flurry, as we just started dating today, I like I was going to give you a gift so you can remember that day forever,” said Cozy.
“Really? What is your gift?” asked Flurry, now curious about the gift.
“This is my gift.” Cozy gave a kiss with a smile while she had her eyes closed on Flurry. Flurry ended up blushing.
When Cozy ended the kiss, she asked Flurry, “So? What did you think of my gift?”
Flurry, still blushed with the kiss, smiled shyly and replied, “I… I liked it. And… I have a gift to give you too.”
Cozy was both curious and excited at the same time. Did Flurry have a gift for her? What would it be?
“Do you have a gift for me? What is?” asked Cozy.
“This.” Flurry showed Cozy a bouquet of flowers.
Cozy blew out a surprised breath. “A-a bouquet of flowers?”
“Yes, Cozy. This bouquet is for you, so you could remember me and this day when you look at the flowers,” said Flurry while holding the bouquet with the hooves.
Cozy touched something and was confused. “But how did it come out of nowhere?”
“It didn’t come out of nowhere. I kept it hidden behind my mane since this morning.” explained Flurry, now looking at Cozy.
“But why did you keep him hidden from me all this time?” wanted to know Cozy while lifting a hoof and a raised eyebrow.
Flurry got even more blushed. “It’s just that I wanted to give it to you at the right time.”
“Did you plan to invite me to come here?” asked Cozy.
“Yes... but I was too shy to ask you,” Flurry replied. “When you asked me out, I saw the perfect opportunity for me to be able to confess my feelings and I accepted. I hope we can see each other quite often.”
Cozy was still surprised. She didn’t think Flurry was shy when it came to being in love. But she soon recovered, smiled and took the bouquet with her hooves. She also hoped that from now on she and Flurry could see each other and spend a lot of time together.
“Me too, Flurry,” Cozy hugged Flurry with her hooves. Flurry returned the hug. “And I also hope that we can spend a lot of time together as marefriends.”
