Divorced or Still Married? Sparity

Can Sparity be a thing even after 'The Last Problem'?

In the future setting of ‘The Last Problem’ a lot has changed. But are Rarity and Spike still in love with each other? They did not seem to be married nor romantically involved, could this mean that they are not a thing? Or, were they married but then divorced?! Find out as Yona tells Spike and Rarity's biological children the couple's story.

This is my eighth story and sixth romance story. I am not really a Sparity shipper, but I care about the shippers and wish that Sparity can become cannon alongside many other opposite sex couples. Since Sparity is one of the oldest ships, and had signs of it from Season 1 to 9, which is a whole decade, I really hope that Sparity can be cannon so that the shippers will not be upset about believing in it for all these years in vain.

Future Carousel Boutique

A lot had changed after Twilight ascended the throne; Many non-ponies became citizens of Equestria, and a lot of new families were formed over the years. In Carousel Boutique, an older Rarity trotted in to check on her helpers, Sandbar and Yona, who were the first pony an yak couple in the history of Equestria.

"Professor Rarity!" Sandbar greeted, "You came here right on time, the dresses are ready!"

"And Yona can't wait for creatures to love them!" Yona added, speaking in third-creature like most of the yaks would.

"Thank you both, Yona and Sandbar! You always have been helpful creatures to all of Equestria!" Rarity complemented, before levitating the dresses with her magic and rushing off.

"Mum!" a childish voice called. Rarity turned to see her children rushing towards her. One of them was a female dragon and the other was a male unicorn.

"Where are you going?!" the unicorn colt asked, as he and his sister stared at their mother.

"Well, if you two must know, as a fashion designer, I got a lot of work to do, and today's one of the days I have to go out!" Rarity answered.

"But we want to come!" the dragon whined.

"Sorry, but you're too young, plus, your Dad's too busy as well, so you have to stay with Uncle Sandbar and Aunt Yona." Rarity told the kids, before galloping out.

"Uh, she always say that!" the colt complained.

"It's not really her fault," Sandbar tried reasoning with the kids by telling them, "Someday when you're her age, you'll have to do some work as your job."

"And working may not be fun," Yona added, "but it's something every creature has, even you since you got school."

"Oh, so are you saying our job is to go to school and do schoolwork?!" the dragon sarcastically asked.

"In a way you can say so..." Sandbar began, before being interrupted by a loud cry."Uh oh, looks like the babies need something, I got to go!"

The Earth Pony rushed off to handle his babies, leaving Yona with Rarity's six-year old kids.

"Don't worry, kids. Aunt Yona is here, and Aunt Yona will keep you entertained by telling you some of the BEST stories ever!" Yona announced.

"Sure, you can tell us all about yak smashing, yak traditions, Yakyakastan, and yaks best." the dragon girl replied.

"No. Yona tell you the story of YOUR parents," Yona declared, surprising the kids.

"But, they barely got together!" the colt reminded the yak.

"It's like they're...what do you call...divorced?" the dragon asked.

"Don't you worry, Yona promise that this story will have a happy ending." Yona saluted, before telling the story.

Spike's Fifteenth Birthday

View Online

"Long ago," Yona narrated, "Or should Yona say, not so long ago, on Spike the Royal Advisor's fifteenth birthday..."

In a flashback, a fifteen-year-old Spike was having a birthday party hosted by the married party ponies, Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich. Every creature got along and raced, with their leaders having a friendly meeting.

Rarity, who was late fo the party due to her duties as a fashion designer and the Generosity Teacher at the School of Friendship, was panting when she arrived at Canterlot.

"Rarity! There you are!" Rainbow Dash greeted, "You're actually late! Really late!"

"What kept you?" Applejack asked, alerted by Rainbow calling Rarity.

"Well, I got a lot of duties recently, plus, I had to choose something absolutely divine to wear at Spikey-Wikey's fifteenth birthday! And of course, get him a very special something to celebrate the occasion of him turning one and a half decade old!" Rarity explained, before levitating the present she got for Spike.

"What is it?" Rainbow asked, shaking the box.

"Uh, uh, uh! Only Spike can open it!" Rarity told the pegasus.

"Applejack!" Caramel called, causing Applejack to turn her attention to her husband, who galloped towards her.

"How's the party so far?" Caramel asked.

"Great, except for the part where one of my best friends is late," Applejack honestly replied, making Rarity feel a bit guilty.

"So, Rares, what's the gift?" Rainbow asked.

"Sorry, but it's for only my dear Spikey-Wikey, whom I totally had taken interest in over the years, I just cannot believe that when he and Twilight left Ponyville to move to Canterlot, I was too busy being upset about Twilight leaving, that I didn't think about Spike leaving." Rarity responded, before recalling what happened:

Crying about not being able to stay together, the possibility of drifting apart, and hugging Twilight for the final time she was in the Castle of Friendship before moving away. Rarity and the rest of her friends were highly focused on Twilight, and they sure did not seem to bother about Spike, until he warned them that they were going to miss their train.

"I was really focused on Twilight, too," Rainbow remembered, "We all were,"

"Right, but now that that's gotten over with, we should just give Spike my magical gift for his fifteenth birthday!" Rarity declared, leading the way.

Spike was having a great time hanging out with his old friends, Big Mac and Discord, playing carnival games, a second before he noticed Rarity.

"Hey, Rarity!" Spike greeted, "You're finally here! I actually started to think that you can't make it to my party!"

"Oh, Spikey-Wikey, how can I ever miss a party thrown to celebrate you, my first dragon and non-pony friend." Rarity asked.

"Well, a lot has changed since the coronation, and since now, you got a lot to do as a fashion designer!" Spike pointed out.

"Yes, but I've always saved my free time for you, Spike, and I totally spent it to get you this," Rarity took out the present with her magic.

"What's this?" Spike asked, opening the present to find a book.

"It's a magical book, Spike," Rarity explained, "Starlight enchanted it to make it magically connected to mine," she then used her magic to take out her book. Spike watched with awe as Rarity used a quid to write a message in her book, and the same message appearing in his.

"Happy birthday, Spike," Spike read the message, before turning to Rarity, "Thanks, Rarity! Can I try writing you a message, too?"

"Of course, Spikey-Wikey! After all, this is your gift," Rarity replied, levitating a quip to his claw.

Spike thought for a while before writing, "Rarity, it is very thoughtful of you to think of such a great gift like this, but I'm afraid that as Royal Advisor and Friendship Ambassador, I barely have time to message you, so if we want to write messages to each other, we only have the night to do so, I hope that you'll understand."

Rarity was a bit upset to hear that Spike could not be any closer to her, even when they could always write messages to each other, and have that message sen in one second.

"Oh, you do have a point, Spike. We barely have enough time to message each other, but at least we got an hour every night," Rarity responded, trying to be positive.

"Well, at least I get to tell you things, Rarity," Spike replied, staring into her eyes.

Rarity smiled as she stared into his, a moment before an announcement made by Pinkie Pie:

"Attention, every creature! We are now going to cut the birthday cake for the Royal Advisor's fifteenth birthday!"

The Wonderbolts flew around a huge box before lifting it up, and revealing a huge mouth-watering birthday cake.

The best fliers in all of Equestria then flew at the speed of light to place the candles on the huge pastry, before Smolder the dragon used her fire breath to light the decor up.

"Happy birthday, Spike!" the crowd cheered in unison.

Princess Twilight Sparkle then appeared, levitating a cake cutting knife to cut it into equal pieces, before giving them out to the crowd. Every creature enjoyed the pastry with Spike being the happiest of them all, getting a beard of icing as he ate.

Rarity could not help but giggle at Spike's humorous appearance before taking out a handkerchief to wipe him clean, "Oh, Spikey-Wikey! You should have known to be more regal as a Royal Advisor<,"

"Sorry, Rare, bu I can't help it," Spike responded.

"Well, if you really love that cake, I could always buy it and bring it to you on every Council of Friendship meeting. It won't be much of a problem, as Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich can always make it," Rarity offered.

"Are you sure you want to? I mean, I'm the Royal Advisor, I don't have to worry about my money, but as a fashion designer, you do!" Spike pointed out.

"If you really are that concerned about me, I guess that I'll just go by with just messaging you every night." Rarity sadly replied.

"Rarity, I know that you're the Element of Generosity, but this time, I don't really need what you want to give me, the magical books are enough," Spike told the unicorn.

"But, I really wasn't the one who made it! Sure it was my idea, but I bought the books from a Bookstore, and then got Starlight to enchant them!" Rarity explained.

"The main point is that you thought of the gifts and made them happen! As in, if it weren't for you to think of them in the first place, none of the other stuff that treats these magical books will happen, thus making the gifts from you," Spike clarified.

Rarity, with her heart melting, looked at Spike, "Spikey-Wikey! That's the most heart-melting thing abut a gift that I've ever heard you say! I must have it written in our magical books!"

Rarity happily hugged Spike, as Twilight, watching them, made a memory of it in the magical book of memories that she got from her friends after the coronation.

After breaking the hug, Spike suggested, "Alright, enough hugging, why don't we go and ahave some fun? This party's half carnival because it's special!"

"Of course, Spike! It's been forever since we last hung out for fun." Rarity agreed.

In a montage, Spike and Rarity had a great time playing games, going to photo booths, and even having private time in a Ferris wheel. The time flew past quickly as Twilight lowered the sun and rose the moon.

After their hangout, Spike and Rarity could not help but wish that it could last forever. "That's the best hangout ever! I just wish that it never have to end," Spike commented.

Overhearing Spike's wish, Discord appeared, "Did some creature say 'wish'? May your wish be granted!"

The next moment, Spike and Rarity found themselves going through the carnival all over again, but with each passing minute, they got more and more tired to the point that Spike took his wish back, returning them to the minute before Discord sent him and Rarity back in time.

Yawning, Rarity told Spike, "Well, that's all I can go through today, Spike. I hope that you can message me staring from tomorrow night,"

"Of course, Rarity, I'll always find a way to make time with you," Spike replied, before sharing a hug with her.

Spike and Rarity's First Official Date

View Online

"That's a really...mushy birthday." the dragon daughter of Spike and Rarity commented.

"But what happened after? Did Mum and Dad ever message each other, or were they too busy?" the colt asked.

"Well, Yona may not know everything, but what Yona do know is that Spike and Rarity message each other every night after work, to tell each other about what happened on the day itself, and even some private things." Yona stated, "And soon, as they grew more and more fund of messaging each other, they wished that they were close physically..."

In a flashback, a few months after Spike's fifteenth birthday...

"Oh, Spikey-Wikey! I love messaging you every night, but still, I could not help but think about how far apart we are, and wish that we were closer," Rarity wrote a message in her book.

As soon as the message was written, Spike wrote a message to her back, "Rarity, I know what you mean, but what else can we do? We already got a once a moon Council of Friendship meeting, and a lot of other things to do everyday, we'll barely make enough time to physically be with each other."

Rarity expressed sadness to be reminded about how distanced she and Spike were, before getting an idea, "How about we hangout every night, just for a while?" she messaged.

Spike quickly responded, "I don't know Rarity, Twilight probably wouldn't want me to be tired in the morning everyday, so I probably shouldn't take any risks."

Rarity groaned for a second, before answering, "Or, how about we go out after the next Council of Friendship meeting?"

"Good idea, Rarity! I'll ask Twilight, right now." Spike messaged back. Rarity smiled to hear Spike's complement, before he wrote, "Twilight said it's okay! We'll get to hang out Rarity! I can't wait to see you again."

Rarity smiled in delight and exclaimed, "Yes, yes, yes!" hopping around like Twilight did when the latter got her cutie mark, Rarity showed excitement over getting to hang out with Spike, before she wrote, "Oh, Spikey-Wikey! I can't wait to see you again, too."

After the next Council of Friendship meeting, late in the evening...

"Here you go, Rarity," Spike told his beloved unicorn friend, handing her a pile of fabric, "I purposely bought these for you, knowing that you will always need them, and since you aren't royalty, you have to worry about your bits and money. So I decided, to give you these fabrics for free, so you won't have to spend your own money buy them."

Rarity blushed, "Oh, Spikey-Wikey! These fabrics are divine! That's really generous of you, my beloved Spike. And speaking of generous, I've got something for you, too." She then levitated a shiny, golden armour out of her bag, making Spike's eyes widened.

"It's my first dragon Royal Guard outfit Spike, inspired from the Royal Guard that Twilight had a crush on back in the Crystal Empire." Rarity explained.

"Twilight actually has gotten over it, Rarity," Spike clarified, "But, the outfit's still the most amazing outfit-for-a-dragon, that I've ever seen!"

"Shall you put it on?" Rarity asked.

"I totally shall, Rarity." Spike bowed, before doing as told. The two then went to the nearest stream to look at Spike's reflection in the water.

"You look amazing!" Rarity commented.

"Thanks Rarity, and since this is our first private hangout after I moved back to Canterlot, I would like to make it a bit more special..." Spike begun, before he reached out his claw, "If you trust me."

Like Jasmine did in the Disney movie Aladdin, Rarity accepted Spike's offer by placing her hoof on his claw, letting him take her to the night skies with him. Spike flew Rarity over and through the three famous places of Equestria; Ponyville, Canterlot and Cloudsdale, to see everything as if they were on a magic carpet ride. The two creatures then began singing as they flew and fall in love.

Spike sang, "I can show you the world,
shining, shimmering, splendid.
Tell me, Rarity, since when did you last let your heart decide.
I can open your eyes,
take you wonder by wonder.
Over side ways and under on a magical ride."
A whole new world, a new fantastic, point of view,
No creature to tell us 'no',
or where to go,
or say we're only dreaming."

Rarity sang, "A whole new world,
a dazzling place I never knew,
But when I'm way up here,
it's crystal clear,
that now I'm in a whole new world with you."

Spike sang, "Now I'm in a whole new world with you."

Rarity sang, "Unbelievable sight,
indescribable feelings,
soaring, tumbling, freewheeling,
in an endless diamond sky.
A whole new world,"

Spike sang, "Don't you dare close your eyes,"

Rarity sang, "A hundred thousand things to see,"

Spike sang, "Hold your breath, it gets better."

Rarity sang, "I'm like a shooting star,
I've come so far,
I can't go back to where I used to be,
every turn a surprise."

Spike sang, "A new horizon,"

Rarity sang, "Every moment red letter,"

Both sang,"I'll chase them anywhere,
there's time to spare,
let me share this whole new world with you."

Spike sang, "A whole new world,"

Rarity sang, "That's where we'll be,"

Spike sang,"A thrilling chase,"

Rarity sang, "A wondrous place,"

Both sang, "For you and me..."

The love song ended as Spike and Rarity share a romantic lean on each other, as they gazed at the stars. "The night sky is just gorgeous! Just like you and the ride you gave me Spikey-Wikey," Rarity commented, causing Spike to blush.

"Oh Rarity, making you happy is what makes me happy. Especially when you're the most beautiful...generous pony I know." Spike told his long-time love interest.

"Oh, Spike, I just can't wait for another flight with you," Rarity said, causing Spike's eyes to widen.

"Really? You want me to...take you on another ride?" Spike asked in disbelief.

"If that's okay with you," Rarity replied.

"I always thought that I had to ask you whether you're okay with it." Spike cried out.

"Guess we could think alike," Rarity blushed, "But the main point is, we both have to be alright with it."

"So...are we both alright with it?" Spike asked.

"I totally am," Rarity replied.

"So am I," Spike said, before he and Rarity stared into each other's eyes romantically.

The Wedding

"That is...a little...too romantic..." Spike and Rarity's daughter commented, her face turning green.

"Maybe dragon should sit this one out," Yona suggested, "Because this story is about to get more romantic!"

"Enjoy it for yourselves!" the dragon cried, rushing upstairs to get away from the story.

"So, is unicorn ready to hear the most romantic part?" Yona asked.

"Sure," the colt replied, "So, what is it?"

"The part where your parents got married," Yona described.

In a flashback, an eighteen years old Spike was visiting a Jewelry shop where he got a rare, expensive ring for Rarity, to propose to her. He was quite lucky that he was known and recognised as the Royal Advisor and Friendship Ambassador, getting a half off discount for the ring.

Later that day, after Council of Friendship meeting, Spike and Rarity had their private date, strolling through the magical night and enjoying physically being together, chatting about life.

"Happy third dating anniversary, Spikey-Wikey," Rarity told her boyfriend, giving him a new fancy outfit to wear.

"Thanks, Rarity," Spike blushed, before nervously taking out a present, "And, I have something for you, too."

Rarity used her magic to levitate the present towards her and open it. She was very shocked to find a proposal ring inside it, her eyes widening in response as she gasped."It's a proposal ring?!" she faced Spike, "Does this mean..."

Spike took a deep breath before saying, "Rarity, it has always been my dream to have an official couple status with you, even though the feeling fades at certain times. I know that we can't be together because of our jobs, but, we can still see each other from time to time. And, if we can maintain our relationship, I believe...that being wed to you...is still worth it."

Rarity was frozen for a few seconds, causing Spike to sadly sigh, "I understand if you reject me..."

Rarity placed her hoof on Spike's shoulder, telling him, "Oh, Spikey-Wikey, I would never reject you! I may be always the kind of mare that would go searching for handsome stallions everywhere, but deep down inside, I knew that I can only be wed to one male. It just took me a while to find out who that should be...and after what happened on your fifteenth birthday, I felt the feelings I had for you becoming stronger than ever, like you are the only male I love...with affections. I absolutely accept your proposal."

Spike's eyes widened as he smiled, "Really?"

"Of course, Spike, I would love to be wed...to you." Rarity confirmed, kissing him on the cheek.

A few days later, every creature gathered at Canterlot for a second huge wedding. Princess Twilight Sparkle served as chief witness once again, while Fluttershy conducted her songbird choir music like she did at the royal wedding. Rarity regally walked down the red carpet and onto the platform. She and Spike looked into each others' eyes for a brief moment before turning to Twilight, who gave her speech in response.

"Every creature in this crowd, we are gathered here today to celebrate and witness the marriage of two of Equestria's famous heroes. One being known for her generosity, and the other, known for saving the Crystal Empire twice, as well as saving all of Equestria from possible threats by befriending the leaders of the dragons and the changelings respectively, before they were the leaders, which soon led to them becoming the leaders, and ensuring peace between every creature. We are all grateful of the bride and groom we have at this wedding. Without further ado, I present them husband and wife."

Sweetie Belle, being the best mare at the wedding, levitated the red pillow with the wedding rings. Twilight then took the rings and placed one on Rarity's horn, and the other on one of Spike's claw fingers. The newly-weds walked to the balcony and waved to the crowd watching them from below, with most of them being the Crystal Ponies, who came to see their beloved hero and cheer.

At the reception, Spike and Rarity romantically embraced each other before the dance as music played. Sweetie Belle levitated the microphone right in front of her mouth, singing 'Love is in Bloom' once again.

After the dance, Spike and Rarity rode away in their carriage to Carousel Boutique, where Spike would be staying temporarily, for his and Rarity's honeymoon the next day. Taking off their wedding outfits, the newly married couple enjoyed a nigh of sleeping together, leaning on each other.

Having Babies

"I can't believe my sister had to miss out that part! It's so amazing!" Spike and Rarity's unicorn son commented.

"It's too gross for me!" the young female dragon shouted for her brother and caregiver to hear.

"But that's not all..." Yona stated, "After the wedding and honeymoon, Spike and Rarity decided, to have you two, their children!"

In a flashback, Spike was strolling through Canterlot and noticed a married unicorn mare and pegasus stallion with their four kids; one being a unicorn filly, one being a unicorn colt, one being a pegasus filly, and one being a pegasus colt. Seeng how happy the different species family was, gave Spike the idea of trying to have biological children with Rarity.

"WHAT?!" Rarity asked in shock, as a response to hearing Spike's idea. "But, dragons lay eggs, ponies give birth! How can we have biological kids?!"

"We can always ask some creature for help...and this time, since it's more science related, maybe a scientist would do the trick." Spike suggested.

The couple visited Doctor Whooves in his lab, where he kept all of his inventions. Fortunately, he had an invention that could help the couple; In Vitro Fertilisation. After carrying out an operation of retrieving Spike's sperm and manually combining it with Rarity's egg cell off-screen, Doctor Whooves dismissed the couple from his lab.

As they walked through Ponyville, Spike noticed Rarity not looking well. "Rarity, are you okay?" he asked in a concerned tone.

"Not really Spike," Rarity honestly answered, "Knowing that I'm pregnant is already an awful feeling; I heard a lot of stories of how painful having a baby is, or most likely, giving birth to one!"

"So sorry I had to put you through this, Rarity." Spike apologised, "Especially when in the end, you'll suffer by taking care of our kid, while I just do my job as for normal. Plus, we're still going to be apart for most of the time as long as I'm Twilight's Royal Advisor!"

"I understand, Spikey-Wikey! But don't worry...as the Element of Generosity, I should be able to suffer to give other meaningful gifts! Plus, Equestria needs kids to build up the future generation, and we're going to give it one!" Rarity declared.

"And it is very lucky to have a creature like you, just like I am." Spike told his wife, in a romantic tone.

Rarity giggled, "Oh, Spike! That is the best thing I've ever heard you say about me!"

"It's the least I can do...I mean, you're making a big sacrifice for the both of us, especially for...me." Spike replied, ""Not only don't I live with you, I won't take care of the kids with you, all I can do for you is give you all the bits or fabric or buyable things you need!"

"That is still enough and acceptable, Spike." Rarity assured, placing her hoof on Spike's shoulder.

A few months later, Rarity was forced to take a break from her work, letting her younger sister Sweetie Belle succeed her as the School of Friendship's Generosity Teacher. Spike often visited his beloved wife during his free time, checking on her and assuring her everything would be alright. As Rarity's situation got serious, Spike sent her to the Ponyville Hospital, where the doctors found out that Rarity had two babies, not one. What was most astonishing of all was; one of the babies was a male unicorn, and the other was a female dragon in an egg.

"I'm going to lay an egg?!" Rarity asked in shock.

"Because one of your kids is a dragon, and dragons hatch out of eggs." the doctor explained.

"Will she be fine?" Spike asked in a worried tone.

"She will, after giving birth and laying that egg." the doctor replied.

"But what about before that happens?" Spike asked.

"Well, she most likely will experience pain and uncomfortableness from time to time, but other than that, she'll be alright." the doctor explained.

"If only I can live with you, Rarity." Spike sighed, "Now I'm really sorry about putting you through all this pain."

"Oh, Spikey-Wikey, I know that you don't want me to suffer, but look at how happy we both will be once we have our kids!" Rarity pointed out.

"How come you're so positive about this? You're the one suffering, not me, and the whole thing was my idea!" Spike asked.

"Oh Spike, being generous is not just as easy as giving things away, it's also about being able to suffer to give others their needs and wants." Rarity explained.

"Thank you, for willing to do this." Spike told his wife, hugging her.

Weeks flew by and soon, Spike received a letter from the Ponyville Hospital; Rarity's babies were about to be out. Princess Twilight Sparkle was excited to hear the news, happily teleporting herself and Spike to the location. The rest of Rarity's best friends were already there, worriedly looking at the door of a room that had Rarity inside it.

"Is Rarity in there?" Twilight Sparkle asked.

"A hundred percent is," Rainbow Dash confirmed.

"And...not doing so well." Fluttershy added.

"She's been unwell since yesterday!" Pinkie Pie added.

"The doctors keep saying that everything's okay, but from the screams and groans of pain we've been hearing, we know it's not really alright." Applejack ended.

"Rarity isn't alright?" Spike asked, thinking about nothing except for his sweetheart, darling wife.

"Calm down, Spike, give the doctors the peace and quiet they need to focus," Twilight advised.

"But, Rarity's not okay!" Spike protested, a second before the door opened.

Rarity was smiling, as she levitated a newborn unicorn boy and a purple dragon egg with her magic for all of her friends to see. Every creature was charmed by how cute the unicorn boy was, while Spike was relieved that Rarity was alright, hugging her.

"Oh, Rarity, I'm so relieved that you're alright! I was actually going to bust into the room to check on you!" Spike exclaimed, causing every creature to get a bit shocked when they heard the Royal Advisor saying that he was going to do something that he should not do.

"Spike! Don't you know how wrong it is to do that?!" Rarity asked.

"I know, Rarity, it's just that, you being alright is what I had to ensure, you're the most precious treasure of all to me," Spike told her.

"Oh, Spikey-Wikey! That is really sweet of you, except for the part where you were going to bust in, which is wrong, that is." Rarity replied.

"Sorry every creature, for having the intentions to do something so wrong." Spike announced, before turning back to Rarity, "Now, what are we going to call our son?"

"How about, Precious Treasure? To remember what you said about me being the most precious treasure of all to you?" Rarity asked.

Spike's eyes instantly were filled with tears of joy. "Rarity, that's the best name ever! You're the best, sweetest wife ever!"

"And you're the best devoted husband, ever." Rarity commented, causing Spike to blush.

The next following weeks, Rarity was feeling a lot better, and Spike often visited to help her babysit Precious Treasure during his free time. One day, while babysitting his son, Spike heard cracking nearby. He turned to look at the egg, in the incubator, it was hatching!

"Rarity! The egg's hatching!" Spike called.

"Oh, really?" Rarity asked, galloping towards the incubator. The hatchling broke free from its egg and imprinted on its parents, who looked at it lovingly.

Rarity used her magic to levitate the newborn dragon in front of her, before telling Spike, "Spike, since I named Precious Treasure, why don't you name our dragon girl?"

"Well, I would like a great name for our daughter, just like how great our son's name is..." Spike said, thinking for while, before asking, "How about Sparity?"

"What?" Rarity asked.

"Sparity, our names combined." Spike explained.

Rarity blushed, "Oh, Spike! That's the sweetest name ever! I'm more than delighted to have Sparity as the name of our daughter!"

"And I'm more than delighted to have you as my wife, Rarity." Spike replied, before sharing a romantic kiss on the lips with Rarity.

Couple Tensions

"So that's how my sister and I got our names!" Precious Treasure commented after hearing the story, "I can't believe that she's missing this out!"

"But the next part of the story is not as good as the others..." Yona warned, "And it is not so romantic."

"Well, in that case, I'm listening." Sparity showed up, having overheard what Yona said about the upcoming part.

"Alright then, not long after Sparity hatched, Rarity had a lot of problems." Yona explained.

In a flashback, Rarity was galloping around Carousel Boutique, in a hurry.

"Sapphire Shores will be here tomorrow! And her dress must be divine!" Rarity told herself, "How can I lose it right after placing it where it won't be lost?"

Rarity turned around the corner and found something unpleasant: Precious Treasure and Sparity were nibbling and drilling on the dress for Sapphire Shores!

"Bad babies!" Rarity scolded, "That's it! I've had enough of being patient with you! Ever since you were born, I can barely get some sleep, every time I take you out to see Spike, you cause a lot of problems that delay me, like you always do, worst of all, you are preventing me from doing my work! My job! Especially when I'm a well-known designer! This is the last straw!"

That night, after accomplishing his Friendship Ambassador duties for the day, Spike returned to Canterlot to retire for the night, and message his beloved Rarity. But when he opened his magical book, he was shocked to find a message that he wished that was not real: "Spike! The kids have caused me too much trouble! And since it is your idea, I have made a decision, to want nothing to do with you! I sent the kids away to be adopted by Lyra and Bon Bon, to take away our status as a family! Because I'm through with you! We are officially broken up!"

Spike was in tears to learn what Rarity did, "How could you? We're friends!"

"Spike, what is wrong?" Princess Twilight Sparkle asked, approaching her adoptive little brother.

"Thi is what's wrong." Spike sadly handed the message to Twilight for her to see.

"How can Rarity do something so awful like this?!" Twilight asked.

"I think she got too much pressure...because of me..." Spike sadly stated.

"You know wha, Spike?" Twilight asked, "As the Princess of Friendship, every friendship problem I know is something that has to be taken care of! I'll help fix this problem, and I'm going to do it now!"

Later that night, Spike and Twilight visited Lyra and Bon Bon's house, where they retrieved the babies and apologised for having to take them back when Rarity confirmed that Lyra and Bon Bon could keep the infants. The two mares accepted the apology and figured that they would not be very good adoptive parents.

Spike comforted his crying children, "Don't worry, Daddy's taking you back to Mummy."

"And Aunt Twilight is helping!" Twilight Sparkle added.

In Carousel Boutique, Rarity was designing a new dress for Sapphire Shores just before she heard a knock on the door. "Come in," she said, before Spike and Twilight entered.

"Oh, it's you, Spike." Rarity huffed, looking unhappy and a bit angry.

"Rarity, please don't be mean to the babies, they're your family for creature sake!" Spike told the unicorn, but got a response that he could never imagine.

"They may be my biological offspring, but I disown them! And since you're too busy with your duties, I figured that Lyra and Bon Bon could take care of them as their adoptive children or something!"

"But, Rarity! You're their mother! Plus, you figured that you would like to have them for the future generation of Equestria!" Spike reminded.

"At least they are still alive, that's what matters," Rarity coldly pointed out.

"WHAT?!" Spike asked in shock, "You only care about them being alive, and not how they live?!"

"Spke, they are nothing but trouble, even before they were born!" Rarity harshly shouted, causing the infants to cry.

Spike handed Precious Treasure and Sparity to Twilight before confronting Rarity, "Rarity, that is it! You've crossed the line with how horrible you are to our kids."

"Our biological kids, but not necessary our kids anymore." Rarity coldly explained, ""I already said that we are officially broken up! And I sent the kids to Lyra and Bon Bon, to be adopted by them, and take away our status of being a couple!"

Heart-Brokered, Spike cried out, "I can't believe I had a crush on you...since I first saw you!"

The Make Up...and Happy Ending

"We get it now." Sparity honestly said her thought out loud, "We were such a headache that drove Mum mad, and upset our Dad, then they...divorced...for real."

"I can't believe we ruined our parents' happy couple status!" Precious Treasure added, expressing guilt.

To the kids' surprise, Yona laughed, "Not exactly, little kids."

The next second, Spike and Rarity entered the boutique, with Rarity thanking Spike for the ride he gave her, and Spke replying that he would always be willing to help his unicorn wife.

"Mum? Dad? Did you still call each other husband and wife?" Precious Treasure asked.

"Of course we do, at times." Rarity replied.

"But...the story...Yona said that because of the troubles Precious and I caused for you...you declared that you were officially broken up..." Sparity told her mother.

"That's because that's only part of the story!" Yona explained, "There's still a good ending for the couple."

Every creature gathered around for the final part before Yona continued, "Right after Rarity made Spike leave in tears, Princess Twilight approached Rarity..."

In a flashback, Twilight confronted Rarity, "Rarity! I know your job is important to you, but a re you sure it was worth it choosing it over the lives of others?!"

"What do you mean, Twilight? I'm not endangering their lives." Rarity asked.

"What I meant was you were making others' lives miserable! You hurt your babies' feelings by looking like a cold-hearted, harsh, monster that sends them away to live with ponies they barely know, and hurt Spike's feelings even when he had nothing to do with the babies' actions!" Twilight clarified.

"It was his idea to have them in the first place!" Rarity pointed out, "If it weren't for him, they wouldn't even exist! And the trouble they caused won't eve exist!"

"But don't forget what you always say about generosity: Others are more important than yourself." Twilight reminded, "So, would the babies be more important than your job?"

"Even if they were more important, how am I ever going to survive without the bits I earn from my job?" Rarity asked.

"As the Royal Advisor, Spike is as rich as I am, and I'd be alright if he gave you all the bits you need when they were originally his," Twilight stated.

"And since Sweetie Belle succeeded me as Generosity Teacher, she earns the bits for me, I do have hope on surviving without my job." Rarity realised.

"I'm sure every creature will understand if you're unavailable for a while, plus, you got employees." Twilight pointed out.

"I made a big mistake," Rarity sadly said, "Right now, I have some creature to find and make up too."

Spike was sadly sitting in his former bedroom in the Castle of Friendship, before the door opened, revealing Rarity with their babies.

"Spike, there you are! I am so absolutely sorry about what happened...or mostly...what I did." Rarity told him, before sighing, "Twilight brought me back my senses by reminding me that others are always more important than myself, and I figured, that you and our family are indeed more important than me, and my job. So I decided, to retire temporarily until our kids aren't so troublesome anymore." Rarity explained.

"But...you said that we are...officially broken up..." Spike sadly cried.

"Only because I was so frustrated that I could not control myself." Rarity clarified, "Now, I really take it back," she then presented him a wedding ring, to his shock.

"If just saying isn't enough to prove to you that I'm sorry and I don't want to have our couple status taken away, I'm willing to buy this proposal ring to show that I want us to be a married couple again!" Rarity cried out, kneeling before Spike.

"Wait, what?!" Spike asked in confusion.

"I said: 'If just saying isn't enough to prove to you that I'm sorry and I don't want to have our couple status taken away, I'm willing to buy this proposal ring to show that I want us to be a married couple again!'" Rarity repeated her sentence.

"Rarity, I can't believe it!" Spike exclaimed, "I can't believe that you're willing to just go and buy an expensive ring when you're about to retire! I mean, think about the risk you're taking with your bits!"

"You are way more important than I am, to me." Rarity told Spike.

Spike blushed, "Rarity, I totally accept your apology, but we really don't need to remarry...I mean, we won't be considered divorced just by one of us saying so, would it?"

"I believe that Spike has a point," Twilight approached, "Since divorce means no longer married because the marriage has been legally dissolved, it takes a lot more than a claim from the couple to make it official."

"So this means...we were never divorced?" Rarity asked.

"Totally never divorced," Spike answered, "But I still accept that nice ring you bought for me."

"Oh, Spikey-Wikey! Of course, you can have it, my beloved's dragon husband!" Rarity giggled.

"And you may share my bits, Rarity, my beloved unicorn wife." Spike replied, before he and Rarity kiss each other on the lips.

After the flashback ended, Sparity was disgusted by the romantic end while her older brother was delighted.

"So, we never made our parents divorce?" he asked, trying to ensure that he knew the facts.

"Your parents aren't even divorced in the first place," Spike confirmed.

"And they are absolutely still married, even though they don't live together." Rarity added.

"I'm just glad that my sister and I didn't break up a happy couple," Precious Treasure commented.

"While I'm regretful for hearing that part! So gross!" Sparity exclaimed, rushing off to the bathroom.

"Well, at least we're still family." Precious Treasure gratefully stated, before hugging his parents, who embraced the hug.
