First Ever Kiss
The first ever Hearts And Hooves Dance has come tonight. Many creatures from all the lands in Equestria arrive at the School Of Friendship. Ever since Starlight Glimmer took over, she made additions to the classes and the ideas to keep every-creature happy. For this holiday, she wanted to give every creature the choice to have fun dancing at the music from the karaoke machine.
Starlight Glimmer, Sunburst and Trixie are waiting in the main hallway while the Cutie Mark Crusaders are placing the food on the table. “Do you think this party is going to be successful?” Sunburst asked.
“I’m sure.” Starlight smiled. “I know this is our first time, but Twilight had her first when she opened this school and succeeded.”
“Case and point, she and her friends had bumps before they became teachers.” Trixie corrected.
The principal of the school looked at the party that’s set up. While her best friend and Student Counselor is right, she thinks otherwise. “We’ve been in charge of Twilight’s school for a long time, you’re just not at good terms with the ruler of Equestria as I am.”
“Hey, just because we’re no longer rivals, doesn’t mean we’re friends.”
“And after so many years, I wonder why.” Sunburst rolled his eyes.
The Yaks and Kirin students arrive from the front door. While the Kirin are looking forward to the activities, the Yaks are excited to dance at the dance floor. One last Yak had arrived with her heart still remind expect better.
“Yona loves Hearts And Hooves Day! Yona loves Hearts And Hooves Dance!” Yona stomped on the floor in excitement.
“Yona!” Sweetie Belle walking up to the Yak. “You know we have a new rule of not stomping in the hallways and rooms.”
“Oh, sorry. Yona blushed, still getting used to the new rules. In a matter of time, Hippogriffs, Dragons and griffons have arrived. “This is going to be awesome!” Silverstream said, whilst flying into the school. Two of her friends, Gallus and Smolder flew inside to see the party itself.
“You think this party is going to be interesting?” Gallus loosening his tie.
“Well we did go to other dance parties here, so this Hearts And Hooves party might be cool.” Smolder crossing her arms, being a little judgeful.
“Silverstream! Gallus! Smolder!” Yona jumped again. Due to her weight, a big cup a punch spilled on Apple Bloom just when she’s about to pour it in smaller cups. Her mane became wet as she glared at Yona.
“Yona!” Silverstream giving the Yak a hug.
“We Yak knew best friends would come to this dance.”
“Well most of us are here.” Gallus replied.
“Sandbar and Ocellus should arrive any minute.” Smolder looking outside at the door. With almost all the creatures inside the School Of Friendship’s main hallway, the changelings and ponies are the last ones who aren’t here. “So Yona, who are you going to dance with?”
When the Yak heard her dragon friend, she looked outside the window. She saw Ponies and Changelings together in Ponyville while they make their way to the school. “I want to dance with Sandbar...but Yona feels Sandbar has other plans.”
“Other plans?” Gallus said with confusion.
“You know, just because it’s Hearts And Hooves Day, that doesn’t mean Sandbar has other plans.” SIlverstream recalled behind Yona. “He did say he’s going to be here, you just never talked to him about the dance.”
“Isn’t it that the same thing Sandbar felt during the Amity Ball?” Smolder wondered.
“That was just a dance party. This is a Hearts And Hooves party.”
“Silverstream is right.” Yona turned around. “We’ve hung out for months, but never did anything like this.” The Yak felt depressed, even if her friends are wrong. For her first ever Hearts And Hooves party, it may be her first ever shameful party if Sandbar doesn’t arrive. She decides to head to the tables where most of the food is at to cheer herself up.
Meanwhile, a mile away from the School, the ponies and changelings head their way for the party. The two invited guests are right behind the two species. They wanted to be part of the first ever Hearts And Hooves party, but one of them isn’t prepared.
“Sandbar, you’re going to be fine.” Ocellus walking by her pony friend.
“I know I will but I still can’t believe our new principal is throwing a Hearts And Hooves dance.” Sandbar looking at the School Of Friendship in the distance.
“Why does it bother you? This isn’t our first dance party.”
Sandbar stopped himself until the Changeling took notice. Out of all the times he experienced something with his friends, this day was a long time coming for him. He then whispered into Ocellus’s ear with no one around. After he backed away, Ocellus couldn’t believe what she just heard.
“You...really want to do that?” She asked. All that Sandbar did was nodded without saying a single word out of his mouth. “Okay, hope you do well.”
The party itself has been packed since the Ponies and Changelings have arrived. While the main hallway is where all the dancing is taking place, most of the classrooms are where the students can either take pictures, play games and also the numbers of activities available thanks to the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
All the creatures from Equestria are more than happy, enjoying the music and classrooms. As for Starlight Glimmer along with her Headmare and Student Counselor, they’re impressed the dance party is turning out good. However she noticed that Yona is sitting by herself bored, even with Scootaloo trying to help.
“Is that Yona?” The principal pointed.
“Yeah, she feels too depressed to even do any of the games in this party.” Sunburst replied.
“Seems she’s feeling tough love or something.” Trixie finished.
While they felt the need to help the students, that’s the Cutie Mark Crusaders job. For their first ever Hearts And Hooves Dance, they need to check everything just in case something happens.
Coming from the front door of the school, Sandbar and Ocellus arrived, being the final students arrived at the party. Sandbar looked around to find where Yona is at but with the amount of creatures in the way, he can’t find her.
“Wow, this party looks really fun.” Ocellus commented.
“Sandbar, Ocellus!” Smolder called as she and the others walk up to them.
“Knew it was a matter of time before you two showed up.” Gallus smiled.
Sandbar only shook his hoof with his friends with no response. He’s too occupied with trying to find Yona to even do the available activities. He instead went into the crowd of students while his friends took notice.
“Is he going to do what I think he’s going to do?” Smolder blinked.
“Yes he is.” Ocellus replied.
After Sandbar got out of the crowd, he saw Yona sitting by herself while the tutors are nowhere to help her. He felt sympathy for her since he never talked to her about the party unlike Amity Ball. But with a dance party about the passion of Hearts And Hooves Day, it’s the perfect chance to take his opportunity with Yona.
He slowly made his way while he blushes, steps away from getting close to Yona. Once he’s in front of her, Yona notice a shadow covering her way. The shape of the shadow made her happy as she turned around.
“Sandbar came to dance party!” Yona cheered.
Sandbar remain silent even if he’s happy to see Yona, not to mention she’s not wearing anything flashy, unlike last time. He wanted to do the activities first but he refuses to delay the inevitable.
“Yona and Sandbar play games together!”
Just when Yona head inside one of the classrooms, she stopped when she noticed that Sandbar didn’t move at all. He looked at the ground, not in the mood to do anything at the moment.
“What’s wrong Sandbar?” Yona walked up to the pony. “Don’t you want to play games with Yona?”
Sandbar looked up at Yona as she shook his head. “No. There’s something I want to tell you.” He looked at the other side of the main hallway with only a few ponies not crowding the place. He takes the Yak to the spot where no creature is looking but from a distance, his friends are watching. Not only that, the principal, her headmare, and student counselor are also watching Sandbar and Yona after they left the spot.
“So...what do you want to say to Yona?” The Yak asked.
“Well...I was wondering...we’re going to be seniors soon, so when we graduate…” He stopped himself has his cheeks continue to glow red. Yona tilted her head, waiting for his friend to finish his words. Sandbar took a deep breath, his heart is pounding in the moment he’s in right now as he opened his mouth again. “...Do you want to move into my place?”
Yona couldn’t believe what she heard from Sandbar. “You mean...Yona leaving Yakyakistan and living with Sandbar?” All that Sandbar did is nodded in response. “Why?”
“Because we’ve known each other for a long time and I think there’s so much in Ponyville you should see. When we heard from our new ruler that she’s going to have all the creatures come to our villages and make more friendships…” Sandbar stopped himself again, unable to continue.
Yona became even more confused, she knew the Princess Of Friendship will make major changes in Equestria but Sandbar didn’t finished again. “Do...you really want to live with Yona?” She asked.
“Yes.”
Silverstream and the others couldn’t believe what their hearing from their two friends they’ve known since this school was born.
“I know me or you need more time to think about this, but I know we can work this out. You’re more fun to hang out with and your pride makes me appreciate you more.”
“Really?” Yona smiled.
“Yes because maybe someday, I want to go to Yakyakistan to see what you do there.”
“Really?”
Sandbar nodded again. “Also...I have a special gift I kelp for such a long time. Just for you.” He then puckered up and kissed on Yona’s cheek.
Her friends, principal, headmare, and student counselor couldn’t believe what they saw. For the first time in the School Of Friendship, a pony kissed a yak instead of a pony. Silverstream wrapped her claws with sparkles in her eyes.
“That is so romantic!” She whispered.
After Sandbar leaned back, Yona’s eyes shot wide open in disbelief. During her time in Yakyakistan, no one ever kissed her before, nor did her kind did with the other. Her cheek felt so warm, a feeling she had never experienced before. Then soon she grows another smile, much bigger than before.
“Ohh! Thank you so much!” Yona gave Sandbar a hug, causing the colt to lean against the wall from the sudden moment.
Sunburst and Trixie adored the moment as well while Starlight is impressed. For her first ever Hearts And Hooves Party, she’s looking forward to talking to Twilight about this.
Sandbar felt happy he kissed Yona for the first time. “I’m glad we’re here to have fun.” He said.
“Yona knows. Let’s go do the activities!” The pony and yak head to one of the classrooms to play the games inside. Silverstream and the others were still watching in amazement. Ocellus is proud to see that Sandbar succeeded in his goal, while his friends still couldn’t believe it.
“Does this mean Sandbar and Yona are going to be a thing from now on?” Smolder wondered.
“From the looks of it, yes.” Silverstream giggled.
“Does this mean we’re going to have a wedding between our friends?” Gallus asked. His friends gave him a disgusted look from listening to his question. “What? It feels weird with a pony dating a yak to me.”
Starlight rolled her eyes after eavesdropping the griffon’s compliment. “It’s only the beginning, Twilight will take care of everything.” She said to herself.
