“NOOO!’’

Radiant Hope woke up with a scream one night. She began to shudder in fear. The nightmares. The nightmares won’t stop coming to her.

It has been a month since her friend turned to the dark side. She thought that he was a good friend to her, but it turns out, he became nothing more than a monster.

Her ‘friend’ was none other than Sombra. Who was used to be Hope’s best friend, but things changed when he became a pony of darkness.

It began with the Crystal Heart. A powerful crystal that could see into other ponies’ future. When Hope stared into the heart, she could see herself as a princess. She then found out that what she saw into the heart, might possibly come true. She wanted to ask Sombra what he saw, but she decided that she didn’t want to.

Then the Crystal Faire arrived, and Hope was excited to go, but somehow Sombra became ill. Hope had to stay and take care of Sombra, which made her miss the faire. The next day, Sombra became better. But on the next Crystal Faire, Sombra became ill again.

One day however, Sombra’s body becomes crystalized and fractured. Hope then used her magic to heal Sombra, and it worked. Hope earned her cutie mark in the process. She was so happy.

Her abilities gained the interest of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, who then invited Hope to study with them in Canterlot. She told Sombra about this, but he ran off so suddenly.

Hope then found Sombra corrupted by darkness and that the ruler of the Crystal Empire, Princess Amore was imprisoned in stone. Hope pleaded for Sombra to stop, but he refused. Sombra was going to rule over the empire and the many crystal ponies who tormented him. He offered Hope to rule by his side, but she refused. And that makes Sombra shatter Princess Amore into pieces.

Radiant Hope then ran off to Canterlot to tell the princesses about Sombra’s rise to power, and they flew over to the Crystal Empire to defeat him. When Sombra is defeated, he enacts a curse that makes the empire disappear. Hope is now forced to watch her home vanish before her very eyes.

Now, Hope is now living in the castle studying under the princesses. But she will always have these nightmares about Sombra corrupting her with dark magic, and telling her that she will rule alongside him as his queen.

“Why? Why won’t they just go away?!” Radiant Hope said. Ever since her only friend was gone, these nightmares just keep getting more horrible. She wondered when it would finally stop.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Princess Celestia walked into Hope’s bedroom.

“Radiant Hope? Are you okay?” Princess Celestia asked.

“I...I’m fine, Princess. Just had another bad dream.” Hope said, trying to calm down after having that nightmare. Celestia became a little more worried after hearing that.

Celestia knew about Hope’s nightmares, and whenever she tried to talk to her about them, Hope would brush it off, saying it’s nothing. But everytime she told her that, it made the sun princess more worried about it.

“Hope, I know a lot about these nightmares of yours. And what I do know is that you need to calm down. King Sombra is gone now, and he won’t come back to hurt you.” Celestia said, reassuring Hope.

Radiant Hope still began shuddering in fear. “I know.. But these nightmares just won’t stop! They keep getting worse and worse and I don’t know how to stop them! Ever since my only friend is now gone, they arrived and tortured me in my sleep! And I can’t fall asleep because I'm afraid that the nightmares might come! All I ever wanted is for them to stop, But they won’t! They just keep coming and coming! All I ever wanted is to sleep peacefully! All I ever wanted is to dream happily! ALL I EVER WANTED IS FOR THOSE NIGHTMARES TO STOP!”

Princess Celestia was shocked after hearing Hope. She never knew that she felt this way. But that’s when she got an idea.

“Hope, I know you want them to stop. But I'm afraid that they won’t be able to. But I do know how you can make them stop for one night.” Celestia said.

The princess then grabbed a purple and dark purple spotted dragon egg from her bag with magic and brought it to Radiant Hope. “I want you to hatch this dragon egg, Radiant Hope.” Princess Celestia said.

“Really? You want me to hatch this egg?” Hope asked Celestia. She was confused. Why would the princess want her to hatch an egg? It doesn’t make any sense.

“You do want those nightmares to stop, do you?” The princess asked. Hope nodded, hoping that Celestia knew what she was doing. “Then hatch this egg, and it might help your nightmares go away.” Celestia instructed.

Radiant Hope closed her eyes and focused real hard on hatching the egg, her magic grew stronger and stronger as she focused on hatching it. Then, she heard a crack, and another one. Hope knew that the egg was almost done hatching, so she focused more and more on it.

She heard a few cracks until eventually, the egg broke revealing that inside was a baby dragon. Hope saw the baby dragon and squealed with joy. “Oh my gosh! A baby dragon! It’s so cute!” Hope squealed. Celestia smiled. She had done it.

“I’m glad you're happy about the baby dragon, but I think you’ll be more happy if I told you that you are going to keep it.” Celestia told Hope. And after hearing that, Hope squealed more with joy. “Thank you so much princess! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” Hope said with so much joy.

“You’re very welcome. Now, what are you going to name your new baby dragon?” Celestia asked. Hope thought about it for a moment, until eventually she came up with a name.

“Spike. That’s what I'll call him.” Hope said hugging the dragon in her arms. Celestia smiled. “What a good name for your new dragon.” She said, looking at how happy Hope is.

“Princess, I think I can sleep now.” Hope told the princess knowing that she’ll sleep easily tonight. The princess smiled knowing that her job is done. “I’m just glad that I can help you, my dear Hope.” Celestia said.

She walked out of Hope’s bedroom and turned to see Hope smiling. “Good night, Princess.” Hope said. Celestia smiled. “Good night, Radiant Hope.” she replied. Celestia then closed the bedroom door.

Radiant Hope with her baby dragon Spike in her hooves smiled happily before going to sleep. And on that night, those nightmares never haunted her.

On that night, Radiant Hope dreamt happy and pleasant dreams.

Chapter One: An Old Ponies’ Tale...Or Is It?

View Online

Years have passed and Radiant Hope was getting better. She no longer had those nightmares about King Sombra and can focus on her studies. Throughout the years, Hope began to recover.

But one day, Hope found out that Princess Luna had disappeared. When she asked Princess Celestia about Luna’s disappearance, she didn’t feel like talking to her about it. But Hope would always hope that Princess Luna would return safe.

Now during her studies, Radiant Hope would learn about magical gems known as The Elements of Harmony and how they sealed Nightmare Moon into the moon for a thousand years. This event turned into a legend and an old ponies’ tale known as the Mare in the Moon.

Hope would always ask Princess Celestia about the Mare in the Moon, but Celestia would always tell her that it’s just an old ponies’ tale. But Hope thought it could be more than that.

But one day, Hope starting thinking about the Mare in the Moon and wondered if Nightmare Moon would return to Equestria to bring eternal night. The more she thought about it, the more interested she would be about that fact.

So Radiant Hope always read books about legends and myths to find more information about Nightmare Moon and how she would return to bring eternal night and about the Elements of Harmony, but she didn’t seem to find anything regarding them.

But Hope found out that there’s one book that she didn’t read to find information, and that book was called “Predictions and Prophecies”. And she knew that the book was located in her reading room. So that is where she had to go.

Radiant Hope ran through the streets of Canterlot until she finally made it to her reading room. She opened up the door to find Spike waiting for her.

“Hey there, Hope!” Spike said cheerfully. “Hi Spike. I don’t have time to chat though. Can you go and find me the Predictions and Prophecies book please?” Hope asked Spike.

Spike became confused. “Why do you need that?” He asked Hope. Hope sighed. “Spike, I need it to find information.” She said. Spike didn’t know why she needed information on a book, but he decided not to ask why.

“Alright, I’ll see if I can find it.” Spike told Hope. He then scanned the bookshelves until he found the book Radiant Hope was looking for. “Found it!” He told Hope.

Hope used her magic to levitate the book to her. “Thank you, Spike.” She said. Hope than opened the book and began searching.

“Elements, Elements, E, E, E…” Hope muttered while finding the page she was looking for. Soon enough, she found it. “Aha! Elements of Harmony, see: Mare in the Moon?” Hope was confused. Why would she need to find information on another page?

Spike was confused as well. But it’s not what Hope was thinking. “Mare in the Moon? But that's just an old ponies' tale.” He said.

Nonetheless, Hope kept on searching. “Mare, mare…” Hope muttered again. “Aha!” Hope soon enough found the page she was looking for. She then began to read it.

The Mare in the Moon, myth from olden pony times. A powerful pony who wanted to rule Equestria, defeated by the Elements of Harmony and imprisoned in the moon. Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal.

Radiant Hope was shocked. She knew what was going on and has to warn the princess immediately. “Spike, take a letter.” She told Spike.

“Really? Right after you read a book, you want to take a letter?” Spike asked Hope. “Look Spike, something bad is going to happen and I must warn the princess before it happens.” Hope told Spike.

“Well, alright then.” Spike then took out a quill and scroll. “Alright, whenever you’re ready, Hope.” He said. Radiant Hope then told Spike what to write, and Spike wrote down her words on the scroll.

“My dear princess, my continuing studies of pony magic have led me to discover that we are on the precipice of disaster!” Hope said. However, during the word ‘precipice’, Spike had a lot of trouble.

“Hold on. Preci... preci…” Hope knew that Spike would never understand that word, so she had to think of a new one. “How about, Threshold.” She suggested.

“Threh…” Hope knew Spike wouldn’t understand that word either. “Uh, maybe brink?” Hope suggested. Spike just gave her a look that said ‘I won’t understand that word’.

“Okay, how about ‘that something really bad is about to happen’.” Hope said. Spike understood that word and wrote it down on the scroll. Hope then continued.

“For you see, the mythical Mare in the Moon is in fact Nightmare Moon, and she's about to return to Equestria, and bring with her eternal night! Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true. I await your quick response. From, Radiant Hope.”

After Hope was done speaking, Spike was able to finish the letter. “Done!” He told her. “Good. You can send it now.” Hope told Spike.

“Wait, now?” Spike asked. “Yup.” Hope replied. Spike didn’t know if it was a good idea. “Are you sure about this Hope? I know you want to send it, but Princess Celestia's a little busy getting ready for the Summer Sun Celebration. And it's like, the day after tomorrow.” Spike told Hope.

“But that’s the point! The day after tomorrow is the thousandth year of the Summer Sun Celebration! It's imperative that the Princess is told right away!” Hope exclaimed.

“Impera... impera…” Hope knew again that he wouldn’t understand the word. “IMPORTANT!” Hope yelled.

“Alright, alright.” Spike said. Then with his dragon breath, he sent the letter to Princess Celestia. “Okay, the letter’s on it’s way. But I wouldn’t hold your breath.” Spike told Hope. “Spike, I’m not worried at all. The princess trusts me completely. In my years of studying under her, she never once doubted me.” Hope said.

A few seconds later, Spike burped out a response from Princess Celestia. “See Spike, I told you she would take action immediately.” Hope told Spike. He only just gave an eye-roll.

Spike unwrapped the scroll, cleared his throat, and began to read.

“My dearest Radiant Hope, You know that I value your diligence and that I trust you completely…”

Radiant Hope smiled. Thanks to her, she knew what was going on and would do something about it.

“...but you simply must stop reading those dusty old books!”

“What?!” Hope said in shock.

Chapter Two: The Hard Worker and The Ditzy Pegasus

“My dear Radiant Hope, there is more to a young pony's life than studying, so I'm sending you to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in this year's location: Ponyville. And, I have an even more essential task for you to complete: make some friends!”

Radiant Hope groaned after Spike read the letter. She really liked to make friends, but after what happened with Sombra, she didn’t feel comfortable enough to make any friends.

“Look on the bright side, Hope. The Princess arranged for you to stay in a library. Doesn't that make you happy?” Spike asked, trying to raise Hope’s spirits.

Hope immediately smiled. “Of course it does! You know why? Because I’m right! I'll check on the preparations as fast as I can, then get to the library to find some proof of Nightmare Moon's return!” She said with determination.

“Then... when will you make friends, like the Princess said?” Spike asked Hope. “Spike, the princess told me to check on preparations. And studying under her, I’ll do my royal duty. But the fate of Equestria does not rely on making friends.” Hope replied.

The carriage then landed on the streets of Ponyville. Hope couldn’t wait to get this over with. “Thank you, gentlecolts.” She thanked the guards pulling the carriage.

Walking through the streets, Spike was still trying to convince Hope to make some friends. “You should try talking to them, Hope. Talking to other ponies might make you be friends with them.” Spike suggested.

“Spike, I’m not here to talk to ponies and be friends with them.” Hope told Spike. “But Hope, maybe the ponies in Ponyville have interesting things to talk about.” Spike said.

Just then, they saw a unicorn walking through the streets. “Hey, there’s a pony right there. Let's make a first impression on her.” Spike said happily.

Walking up to the unicorn, they can see a clear visual on what she looks like. The unicorn had a white coat, magenta eyes, a blue frizzy mane and tail, and a cutie mark of a two bridged music note.

“Are you sure about this, Spike?” Hope asked nervously. “Come on, Hope, just try!” Spike replied.

Hope took a deep breath and walked up to the unicorn. “Umm...hi, I’m Radiant Hope.” She said, introducing herself.

“OH MY GOD!” The unicorn screamed before running away. “Well, that was interesting all right.” Hope said.

Spike sighed. ‘So much for making a first impression.’ He thought.

~~~
Spike read the first thing on the checklist.
“Summer Sun Celebration official overseer's checklist. Number one, banquet preparations: Sugarcube Corner.”
Radiant Hope and Spike looked at the Sugarcube Corner place they were at. It looked like a gingerbread house but it smelled like candy.
“Well, let's get in there.” Hope said. Then, they went inside. And inside was an earth pony working the counter.
The earth pony had a dark blue coat, lime green eyes, a short grey mane and tail, and a cutie mark of a lime and two stones.
The earth pony looked at the two entering, “Well hey there. Welcome to Sugarcube Corner. My name is Limestone Pie, but you can call me Limestone.” The earth pony said, introducing herself.
Radiant Hope walked over to the counter. “Good afternoon, Miss Limestone. My name is Radiant Hope, but you can call me Hope.” She said introducing herself.
“Well it’s nice to meet ya, Miss Hope. Here at Sugarcube Corner, we really do like to make new friends.” Limestone said. Hope cringed when she said the word ‘friend’. She really didn’t like that word.
“Now, how can I help you?” Limestone asked. “Well, I am in fact here to supervise preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. And you're in charge of the food?” Hope asked.
“Of course I am. Do you wanna see what we got?” Limestone asked. “Well, as long as it doesn’t take so long.” Hope said. Immediately, Limestone dashed into the kitchen.
When she returned, she had brought a table with her that was full of cakes, candies, cupcakes, pies, cookies, and a whole lot of baked goods. Hope was shocked to see how much of the food there was.
“Yup, we got a lot of food we have here, and it’s all for the Summer Sun Celebration. I made most of the food, but Pinkie helped me here and there with some baking.” Limestone said proudly.
Hope knew that the food was good to go. “Okay, well, I can see the food situation is handled, so we'll be on our way.” Hope told Limestone.
“Well alrighty then. You got more things to check for the celebration and I know I won’t stand in your way. But make sure to come by Sugarcube Corner where it’s always sweet.” Limestone said.
“Yes, we will. Goodbye.” Hope said. And with that, Hope and Spike exited Sugarcube Corner.
“It’s always sweet...we should trademark that.” Limestone said to herself.
~~~

“Food's all taken care of, next is weather.” Spike said. Hope was still thinking about Limestone. “Man, that pony is one hard worker.” She said to herself.

Spike looked up to the sky. “There’s supposed to be a Pegasus pony named Derpy Hooves clearing the clouds.” Spike said.

Hope looked up to the sky. All of the clouds haven’t been clear. “Well, she's not doing a very good job, is she?” She said.

Just then, a Pegasus came speeding by and crashed into the ground. The Pegasus groaned for a bit for standing up. “Watch where you're flying, Miss.” Hope told the Pegasus.

The Pegasus had a grey coat, yellow wall eyes, a light yellow mane and tail, and a cutie mark of a group of bubbles. “Sorry about that. I’m not very good with flying.” The Pegasus said with a giggle.

Spike chuckled. “Is it because of your wall eyes?” He asked. The Pegasus smiled. “Well that, or that maybe my wings can’t flap right.” She said. She then tried to fly up, almost falling down, but immediately took control of her wings.

“Well I love to stay and chat, but I need to go find my friend. Oh, my name’s Derpy by the way.” The Pegasus said, introducing herself. “I knew that.” Hope replied.

“Really?! That’s so cool! I never thought somepony would know me before!” Derpy said happily. “I also knew that you were supposed to keep the sky clear.” Hope said strictly before calming down. “I'm Radiant Hope, and the Princess sent me to check on the weather.” She said.

“Don’t worry Miss Hope, I’ll clear the weather in no time! I just need to find my friend!” Derpy said happily. “And, who is your friend? Hope asked.

“My best friend is a pegasus named Raindrops! But I call her Rainy. She’s supposed to help me with this weather, but she somehow disappeared. If you find her, can you tell her that I’m looking for her?” Derpy asked.

Hope scoffed. “Really? Your best friend has left you? A ditzy Pegasus pony all by yourself?” She asked. “Well, yeah. It’s tough without her, but I’ll manage.” Derpy said with a smile.

“Oh please. Your friend won’t leave a ditzy Pegasus who can't even keep the sky clear for one measly day.” Hope said. That made Derpy angry.

“Hey! I’ll have you know that I can clear the sky in at least five seconds!” Derpy told Hope in a ‘I’ll show you’ attitude. “Prove it.” Hope said, challenging Derpy.

Derpy, determined to prove Radiant Hope, took off to the sky. She did tricks, loop de loops, and cloud kicking techniques to clear the sky. And five seconds later, the sky was fully clear.

“I told you I’ll do it in five seconds. Looks like you won’t call me a ditzy Pegasus any more.” Derpy said, proud of her achievement. Hope was shocked. ‘How can a ditzy Pegasus pony clear the sky in five seconds?’ She thought.

“You should see the look on your face!” Derpy said with a chuckle. “I can’t wait to hang out with you more, Hope. But I need to go and find my friend. See ya!” And with that, Derpy flew off.

“That pony truly is something, eh Hope?” Spike asked. “Yeah. She is truly something.” Hope said, still shocked about that Pegasus.

Looks like she knew that the ditzy Pegasus pony is something more than just ditzy.

Chapter Three: The Ditzy Pegasus’ Best Friend and a Piano Pony

Radiant Hope and Spike are now at the Town Hall, where the decorations were just put up. “Decorations. Beautiful…” Spike said. “Yes, the décor is coming along nicely. This ought'a be quick. I'll be at the library in no time. Beautiful indeed.” Hope replied.

“Yup, they are beautiful alright.” Said a third voice in the room. Hope and Spike were confused. “Who said that?” Hope asked. The two turned to the left, no pony was there. They turned to the right, and it turned out that there was a Pegasus pony there.

The Pegasus pony had a bright yellow coat, medium turquoise eyes, a tiffany blue mane and tail, and a cutie mark of three raindrops.

“Uh, were you the one that put up the decor?” Hope asked. The Pegasus chuckled. “Nah, I’m just admiring them. Whoever made them, they made them pretty cool.” She said.

Hope groaned. ‘Guess she isn’t the decor pony.’ She thought. “Anyways, I’m Raindrops. It’s nice to meet ya.” The Pegasus said, introducing herself.

Spike was shocked. “Wait, you’re Raindrops?!” Spike asked. “Yeah? Why?” Raindrops asked. “Your friend Derpy is looking for you!” Spike told her.

“Oh man, I was supposed to help her with the weather, but I got distracted by the decorations in the town hall!” Raindrops said, surprisingly. Hope didn’t have time for this. “Okay Spike, we told her. Can we go now?” She asked impatiently.

“No, you guys are not leaving until you guys help me find my friend!” Raindrops said sternly. Just then, somepony crashed into the Town Hall. That pony was none other than Derpy.

“Rainy! I finally found you!” Derpy said happily. “Sorry about flying off, Derpy.” Raindrops said, apologizing to Derpy. Derpy stood up and brushed off the dust off of her. “It’s fine, Rainy. But this Radiant Hope pony challenged me to clear the sky in five seconds, and I did!” Derpy said, proud of her achievement.

Raindrops turned to Hope. “Well Miss Hope, I’m impressed. You managed to make my friend clear the sky in five seconds. I can safely say that we’re gonna be best friends.” Raindrops said. Hope cringed again. She really didn’t like that word.

“Now how about we head over to Sugarcube Corner to get you some muffins.” Raindrops told Derpy. “Yay!!! Muffins!!!” Derpy said excitedly. Raindrops turned to Hope again. “Well, we love to stay and chat, but we got some muffins to get for my friend here. See ya!” Raindrops said. After that, her and Derpy flew out of Town Hall.

“Wow, these two Pegasi are truly something.” Spike said. “Yeah, they are something.” Hope replied.

And out of all the ponies in Ponyville, Hope knew that these two Pegasi are very weird.

~~~
“I like those Pegasi.” Spike said, still thinking about the two. “Yes, they are great. Now let’s focus a bit more. So, what’s next on the list?” Hope asked. Spike checked the checklist. “Oh, uh, music! It's the last one!” Spike said after checking the checklist.
From a distance, Hope and Spike can hear somepony play a piano. They walked closer to the music until they found an earth pony playing piano.
The earth pony had a light cyan coat, dark cyan eyes, a curly indigo mane and tail with moderate opal streaks, and a cutie mark of a star with different coloured music notes surrounding it.
The earth pony played a beautiful song on the piano, until she messed up and played a wrong note. “Oh, horsefeathers!” The earth pony said after messing up.
She then regained her cool. “You can do this Rara, it’s for the celebration.” The earth pony played the piano again and tried not to mess up.
“Hello!” Hope said. The earth pony got shocked and played a wrong note on the piano. “Oh my, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to distract you. I'm just here to check up on the music and it's sounding beautiful.” Hope told the earth pony.
“Really? Oh my. I’m really glad you like it then.” The earth pony said with a smile. “Anyways, I’m Coloratura, It’s nice to meet you.” The earth pony said, introducing herself.
“Well it’s nice to meet you, Miss Coloratura. I’m Radiant Hope.” Hope said, introducing herself as well. “Well, it’s nice to meet you, but I have to get to work on my music.” Coloratura told Hope.
“Of course, and that would mean that everything's in order. Keep up the good work!” Hope told Coloratura. “I will! See you later!” Coloratura said, heading back to her piano.
Hope then turned to Spike. “Well, That was easy.” She told him. Just then, Coloratura turned around, noticing Spike.
“Oh my stars! A baby dragon!” Coloratura said with excitement. She ran up to Spike, shoving Hope in the process. “I never met a baby dragon before! He is just the cutest thing ever!” Coloratura said.
Spike turned to Hope. “Well, well, well.” He told her. Coloratura was surprised. “And he talks too?! Wow, this has got to be the coolest day ever!” Coloratura said with a smile.
Hope stood up and grabbed Spike. “Well it was nice to meet you Coloratura, but we must be on our way now.” Hope told Coloratura. And she walked off, but Coloratura followed close behind.
“Wait! What’s his name?” Coloratura asked. “I’m Spike.” He replied. “Hi Spike, I’m Coloratura.” Coloratura said, introducing herself. Hope groaned, ‘why must she be such a drag?’ She thought.
“Wow, a talking baby dragon. That’s so cool! What do dragons talk about?” Coloratura asked. “Well, what do you wanna know?” Spike asked. “Everything!” Coloratura replied.
“Well... I started out as a cute little purple and green egg…” Spike began. Hope groaned. ‘This is gonna be a long day.’ She thought.
~~~

“...and that's the story of my whole entire life! Well, up until today. Do you wanna hear about today?” Spike asked. “Of course!” Coloratura said.

Radiant Hope finally saw the tree library that she will be staying in. “I am so sorry, how did we get here so fast? This is where I'm staying while in Ponyville and my poor baby dragon needs his sleep.” Hope told Coloratura. “No I don't!” Spike said. But Hope leaned to the side and he fell off.

“Aww, wook at dat, he's so sweepy he can't even keep his widdle bawance!” Hope said in a child-like voice. “Poor thing, you simply must get into bed…” Coloratura said, grabbing Spike and walking inside the tree.

However, Hope used her magic to push Coloratura away and grabbed Spike. “Yes, yes, we'll get right on that. Well, g'night!” Hope said and slammed the door on Coloratura’s face.

“Rude much?” Spike told Hope. “Sorry, Spike, but I have to convince the Princess that Nightmare Moon is coming, and we're running out of time! I just need to be alone so I can study without a bunch of crazy ponies trying to make friends all the time. Now, where's the light?” Hope said.

Then suddenly, a light came on. But it was a blue one. Hope and Spike can see a lot of ponies here, and when they turned right, they saw somepony.

It was the white unicorn from earlier, except she was wearing DJ glasses and was on a DJ booth.

“GOOD EVENING, PONYVILLE! ARE YOU READY TO PARTY?!” The unicorn shouted.

The crowd of ponies began cheering. Hope knew that there’s no getting out of this one. It’s happening and she would have to deal with it.

“You have got to be kidding me.” Hope muttered to herself.

Chapter Four: The DJ

View Online

Radiant Hope can’t believe this. A rave is happening and it is being planned by that white unicorn. ‘This has got to be the worst day ever.’ She thought.

“Now before we get this party started, there’s something I want to ask y’all. Is there a Radiant Hope in the house right now?!” The unicorn asked.

“She’s right here!” Spike said, pointing at Hope. “Spike, no!” She screamed, but it was too late.

The unicorn ran from the DJ booth and straight to Hope. “Well, hey there! The name’s DJ-Pon3, but you can call me Vinyl Scratch.” The unicorn said introducing herself.

“Well Miss Vinyl, I know how you like to throw a rave in a library, but do you realize that libraries are supposed to be quiet?!” Hope said sternly.

Vinyl laughed. “Quiet? In a rave? What kind of rave it would be if it was quiet? I mean come on, that’ll be boring!” She said.

“Y’see, when I first saw you back then, I was immediately shocked! I knew that you were new, and new ponies mean knew potential BFFS! But then I thought you don’t have any friends, and if you don’t have any friends, then you must be lonely! Then I decided that it’s not gonna happen, so I threw this little rave to welcome you to Ponyville so you’ll make a ton of friends!” Vinyl explained.

Hope groaned. “Well that’s good. Now if you excuse me, I’ll be in the back.” She said walking to the back of the crowd.

Vinyl then ran to her DJ booth and put some music on. “COME ON EVERYPONY! LET’S PARTY!!” She screamed. And the whole crowd bobbed their head, and danced to the beat.

Hope walked to the back of the crowd where she saw a snack table. And the ponies that were at said snack table were none other than Limestone Pie, Derpy Hooves, Raindrops, and Coloratura.

“So, how are you enjoying a rave made by Vinyl Scratch herself?” Raindrops asked. Hope groaned. “I’m definitely not enjoying it.” She answered.

“Hey, it’s fun! I should know, I like them!” Derpy said happily. “And it’s nice to go and embrace your wild side a bit.” Coloratura said. “But why should I have fun and embrace my wild side when I want to study and have quietness around here!” Hope told the four.

“Well, it’s not happening. Once you go into a Vinyl Scratch rave, you may never go back out.” Limestone told Hope. “But hey! At least you’ll have fun!” Derpy said excitedly. Hope only groaned.

“Can Radiant Hope come to the center of the dance floor, please?!” Vinyl said. “Looks like you’re up.” Limestone said, pushing Hope up to the dance floor. “Break a leg.” Coloratura called out to Hope.

At the center of the dance floor, Vinyl walked up to Hope. “Alright Hope, lets see your wicked dance moves!” Vinyl told Hope. “Look, I don’t want too!” Hope said. “Come on Hope! This is all for you! Now go and show us what you got!” Vinyl exclaimed.

Soon enough, the whole crowd was chanting, “Dance! Dance! Dance!” And it grew louder and louder, until eventually, Hope snapped. “I said NO!” Hope screamed, making the whole room quiet.

“I don’t understand what’s wrong with you ponies! I wanted to study, but you all insist that I should be friends with you all! I wanted to find information about Nightmare Moon returning, but you all keep blocking my path and force me to be friends with you all! So let me tell you this, I will not dance for you all, I will not start a conversation with you all, and I will NOT BE FRIENDS WITH YOU ALL!” Hope screamed. After that, she marched up the stairs to her bedroom. “So just get off my case already!” Hope said before slamming the bedroom door very loudly.

“Geez, talk about a party pooper.” Vinyl said. “Also, who the heck is Nightmare Moon?” She asked.

Hope groaned as the rave continued from downstairs. She covered her ears with a pillow, knowing that the rave from downstairs will continue to be extremely loud.

Just then, Spike came upstairs to her bedroom with a lampshade on his head. “Hey, Hope! Vinyl’s throwing a dance contest! You wanna join?” Spike asked.

“No! All the ponies in this town are crazy! Do you know what time it is?!” Hope asked sternly. “It's the eve of the Summer Sun Celebration. Everypony has to stay up, or they'll miss the Princess raise the sun!” Spike told Hope.

“You really should lighten up, Hope. It's a party!” Spike said before heading downstairs. Hope mockingly intimidated him and sighed. “Ugh, here I thought I'd have time to learn about the Elements of Harmony but, silly me, all this ridiculous friend-making has kept me from it!” Hope said.

She then turned around to see the window, only to see some stars circling the moon. She pulled out her Predictions and Prophecies book and flipped to the Mare in the Moon page and read the last paragraph.

“ ‘Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about everlasting night.’” She then looked at the moon again. “What if the Princess was right? What if it really is just an old pony tale?” Hope wondered.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Spike entered the bedroom. “C'mon, Hope, it's time to watch the sunrise!” He told her.

Hope put her Predictions and Prophecies book on her bookshelf and headed downstairs to go to the Town Hall. But she still wondered if Nightmare Moon would never return.

But little did Hope know that she was not prepared for what will happen next.

Chapter Five: Summer Sun Celebration Gone Horribly Wrong (NOT CLICKBAIT)

The Town Hall. The place where the Summer Sun celebration is being hosted. Everypony can not wait to see the princess raise the sun. Well, all but one.

Radiant Hope is still worried about Nightmare Moon and if she would return. But her thoughts were interrupted when Vinyl Scratch walked up to her.

“Well, well, well. If it isn’t the Ponyville party pooper.” Vinyl said smugly. “Hello to you too, Vinyl.” Hope said.

“Dude, this is gonna be so cool. We got my homegirl Rara up with the orchestra performing the music, and Limestone catering the food, and me being excited as heck! This is gonna be awesome! Well, it can’t be not as awesome as my rave, but still!” Vinyl said happily.

Hope knew that Vinyl is very excited for this celebration, but she is worried. She looked at the moon, the stars were getting closer. Hope became even more worried.

Then, the orchestra started to play. Coloratura was playing the piano loudly with the orchestra and everypony became excited.

The mayor of Ponyville began to speak. “Fillies and gentlecolts, as mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration!”

Everypony began to cheer. Vinyl was cheering loudly. Hope was still worried.

“In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise, and celebrate this, the longest day of the year!” The mayor exclaimed.

Hope looked at the moon again. The stars start to get even closer to the moon. Just then, the mare in the moon started to disappear from the moon. Hope got even more worried.

“Yo, you okay chica?” Vinyl asked. “Yeah, I’m fine.” Hope said, trying not to cover the fact that she’s worried.

“And now, it is my great honor to introduce to you the ruler of our land, the very pony who gives us the sun and the moon each and every day, the good, the wise, the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria…”

Coloratura turned to the orchestra. “Let’s do this.” She said to the orchestra.

“...Princess Celestia!”

Coloratura and the orchestra began to play as Raindrops and Derpy pulled back the curtains to reveal…

...no pony.

Princess Celestia was gone. Nowhere in sight. Everypony began to get worried. ‘This can’t be good.’ Hope thought.

“Remain calm, everypony, there must be a reasonable explanation!” The mayor said, trying to calm down every pony.

“Oh boy. Is the princess sleeping on the job again? That happens a lot.” Vinyl said. Hope rolled her eyes.

Raindrops and Derpy flew over to everypony, where Raindrops gave them a horrible announcement.

“The princess is gone!”

Everypony became scared. Mostly Hope. But Vinyl wasn’t. “So she isn’t sleeping on the job?” Vinyl asked.

Just then, black nightmarish fog began to rise from the stage. “Oh no..” Hope said nervously. The nightmarish fog began to grow and grow until a pony began to show from the nightmarish fog. That pony was none other than…

“Nightmare Moon!” Hope exclaimed. Spike immediately fainted and fell out of Hope.

“Oh, my beloved subjects. It's been so long since I've seen your precious little sun-loving faces.” Nightmare Moon said.

“What did you do with our Princess?!” Derpy exclaimed. “You better tell us who you are, or else you’re getting a knuckle sandwich!” Raindrops said, putting up her hooves.

Nightmare Moon chuckled. “Why, am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?” She asked.

Vinyl began to think. “Hmmm… Uh, Hokey Smokes? No, uh.. Queen Meanie. No wait, Black Snooty! Black Snooty! It’s Black Snooty, right?” Vinyl asked, being the worst at guessing.

“Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned for a thousand years? Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?” Nightmare Moon asked.

“I did!” Radiant Hope spoke up. “And I know who you are. You're the Mare in the Moon – Nightmare Moon!” She said.

Everypony gasped in shock and fear. “Didn’t see that one coming.” Vinyl said.

“Well well well, somepony who remembers me. Then you also know why I'm here.” Nightmare Moon said.

Hope began to become worried again. “You're here to... to…” She said nervously.

Nightmare Moon chuckled again. “Remember this day, little ponies, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the night will last forever!”

Hope became scared as Nightmare Moon laughed evilly.

This can’t be good.

Chapter Six: The Adventure Begins

Nightmare Moon laughed evilly from the podium. Now that she is in charge, Equestria would fall into eternal night.

“Seize her! Only she knows where the Princess is!” The mayor instructed the guards. The guards did as the mayor told told them.

“Stand back, you foals!” Nightmare Moon said. She then transformed into some nightmarish fog, and struck down the royal guards. The fog then flew off.

“I got her! I got her!” Derpy said chasing after the fog. She almost caught it when the fog flew down, making Derpy hit a wall.

“You okay, Derpy?” Raindrops said, checking on Derpy. “Yeah, I’m fine Rainy.” Derpy replied. The two Pegasi looked outside. It was all pitch black.

“Nighttime? Forever?” Derpy said worried. “This can’t be good.” Raindrops said nervously.

Limestone, Vinyl, and Coloratura all ran up to the Pegasi. “Guys, we got to do something.” Coloratura said. “She’s right. We can’t just let that Nightmare Moon pony make it eternal night forever.” Limestone added.

“But what can we do?” Derpy asked. Just then, Vinyl got an idea. “Hey, That Radiant Hope pony knew who Nightmare Moon is, so maybe she’ll know how we can defeat her!” Vinyl said.

“Good thinking, Vinyl.” Raindrops said, agreeing with Vinyl’s idea. Vinyl turned around. “Hey Hope, do you know how-?” She started, but Hope was not there.

“Uh, where is Hope?” Vinyl asked. Raindrops looked outside and saw Hope running somewhere. “I think I know where she is.” She said.

“Really?” Limestone said. Raindrops nodded. “C’mon girls, follow me!” She said. And the five ponies ran off to Hope.

~~~
Back at the library, Radiant Hope was putting a tired Spike to bed.
“Uh... We gotta stop Nightmare!...” Spike drowsy said before immediately falling asleep. Hope put a blanket over him.
“You've been up all night, Spike. You are a baby dragon after all.” Hope said. She then turned off the lights and went downstairs.
But as she went downstairs, Hope started frantically searching. “Elements, elements, elements…” Hope muttered while searching the library. She looked through every book, but couldn’t find anything.
“Ugh! How can I stop Nightmare Moon without the Elements of Harmony?” Hope said frantically. That’s when Derpy flew up to her.
“Just what are the Elements of Harmony? And how do you know about Nightmare Moon? Are you working for her?! TELL ME CELESTIA DAMMIT!” Derpy said angrily.
“Derpy, calm down. Hope is not working for Nightmare Moon!” Raindrops said, calming down an agitated Derpy. She then turned to Hope. “But she sure knows what's going on. Don't you, Hope?” Raindrops asked.
Hope looked at Coloratura, Limestone Pie, Vinyl Scratch, Derpy Hooves, and Raindrops who were all looking for an answer. Hope took a deep breath and began to explain.
“I read all about the prediction of Nightmare Moon. Some mysterious objects called the Elements of Harmony are the only things that can stop her, but I don't know what they are, where to find them; I don't even know what they do!” Hope explained.
Just then, the girls heard Coloratura. “The Elements of Harmony: A Reference Guide.” She said looking at a book on a shelf.
Hope pushed Coloratura as she saw the book. “How did you find that?!” Hope asked.
“Before I played music, I used to read a lot of books at the library, so I know where everything is!” Coloratura explained. “Plus, it was under ‘E’.” She added.
Hope was shocked. She wanted to ask Coloratura how a pianist like her read books, but she decided not to. Hope grabbed the book, and flipped through the pages until she found the page she was looking for. Then she started reading.
There are six Elements of Harmony, but only five are known: Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty and Loyalty. The sixth is a complete mystery. It is said, the last known location of the five elements was in the ancient castle of the royal pony sisters. It is located in what is now…”
~~~

“The Everfree Forest?!”

The six ponies were stood face to face with the forest. “We can’t go in there! It’s dangerous and scary in there!” Derpy said worried.

“But we have to, Derpy! The elements are in there! And they’re the key to defeat Nightmare Moon!” Limestone told Derpy.

“She’s right! We’re not chickening out this time! We’re going in and saving the world!” Raindrops said with determination in her eyes.

“Okay.. If it’s to save the world, then let’s do it!” Derpy said, now filled with determination. “That’s my girl.” Raindrops said, smiling.

“Well what are we waiting for, let’s go save Equestria!” Vinyl said, running straight to the forest.

“Not so fast!” Hope said, stopping Vinyl in the process. “Look, I appreciate the offer, but I'd really rather do this on my own.” Hope told the five ponies.

“Oh, no! We are not letting you go into a dangerous place all by yourself! We’re sticking with you like a breakfast muffin with a side of bacon!” Raindrops said. Coloratura, Limestone, and Vinyl agreed.

“Ooh! Especially if the muffin is a chocolate chip muffin!” Derpy said happily. The five ponies just looked at her. “What? Those things are good.” Derpy added.

“Girls, you don’t have to.” Hope told the five ponies. “But we insist. It’s the least we can do.” Coloratura said. Hope then sighed. “Fine. You guys can come.” She said.

Limestone, Vinyl, Raindrops, Coloratura, and Derpy cheered. “Alright everypony! Let’s go save Equestria!” Vinyl said happily.

“Just stay close behind me, okay?” Hope told the five ponies. “We will. Just lead the way.” Limestone told Hope.

And so, the Mane Six headed into the Everfree Forest.

It looks like the adventure was about to begin.

Chapter Seven: Trapped

The Mane Six headed deep into the forest, and a few of them were nervous. After a few minutes of silence, Radiant Hope spoke up. “So, none of you have been here before?” She asked.

“No way! Just look at this place! It’s so spooky!” Vinyl said, getting the shivers. “And it’s not natural. I heard ponies say that it doesn’t work the same as Equestria.” Limestone said.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Hope asked. Then, Raindrops went all spooky. “Nopony knows. You know why?” She asked.

“No...why?” Coloratura asked in a scared tone. “'cause everypony who's ever come in has never come OUT!” Raindrops yelled.

Coloratura and Derpy screamed in fear. Raindrops just bursted into laughter. “You guys are such scaredy-cats!” Raindrops said. Just then, they heard a rumble.

“Did you guys hear that?” Hope said. “I wish I didn’t.” Derpy said. Suddenly, falling rocks started to fall. “Avalanche! Everypony run!” Raindrops screamed.

And so, the Mane Six ran as fast as they could, hoping to find something that’ll give them shelter in this rockslide. Then, Hope found a cave. “Quick! Into the cave!” She told the five ponies.

The ponies then ran into the cave. Once inside, they began to catch their breath. “Thank goodness we made it.” Limestone said. “But at least the entrance of the cave wasn’t blocked off!” Vinyl said.

And as fate would have it, the rockslide blocked the entrance to the cave, trapping the six ponies inside. “Congrats, you jinxed it.” Hope told Vinyl sarcastically.

“What are we gonna do now? We can’t be trapped in here forever!” Coloratura said in fear. “Don’t be scared, Rara. I know that there’s a way out of here.” Derpy said, trying to raise Coloratura’s spirits.

Suddenly, the girls saw Raindrops go deeper into the cave. “Where the hay is Raindrops going?” Limestone said, confused. “I think there’s only one way to find out.” Coloratura said. “Come on, girls. Let’s follow Rainy!” Derpy said, eager to find out where Raindrops is headed.

The five ponies ran to Raindrops, until they finally caught up to her. “Raindrops, where the hay are you going?” Hope asked. Raindrops soon became nervous. She wanted to tell them, but she’s afraid that they won’t trust her.

Then, Raindrops knew something. She knew that it doesn’t matter if they would believe her or not. She knew that whatever it takes, she has to tell them the truth.

The honest truth.

Raindrops turned to the others. “You may not believe me, but I think I know the way out of here.” She told them. “Are you crazy?” Hope said, not knowing if Raindrops is honest.

“I’m not! I’m telling you guys I know how we can get out of here!” Raindrops said. “That's not true!” Hope told Raindrops. “Hope’s right. How do we know you’re not lying?” Limestone asked.

“Look guys, What I’m saying is the honest truth. I know the way out of this cave. And I’m sure you all don’t believe me, but I hope that one of you can know that I’m telling the truth.” Raindrops said.

Limestone, Derpy, Coloratura, and Vinyl were all thinking the same thing. ‘Do we trust Raindrops?’ But Hope didn’t think that. She looked in Raindrops’ eyes and knew.

She knew that Raindrops was telling the truth.

Radiant Hope turned to the others. “Guys, I think we can trust Raindrops.” She told them. “What?! But why?” Limestone asked. “You guys don’t believe her, but I do. And I believe that she’s telling the truth.” Hope explained. Raindrops smiled. She was glad that Hope trusts her.

“Well, if you believe that, then I trust Raindrops too!” Vinyl said. “So do I!” Limestone said. “Me too!” Coloratura said. “Me three!” Derpy said. Raindrops smiled. Her friends now trust her.

“Thanks, guys. And thanks, Hope. I knew that somepony would trust me.” Raindrops said, smiling. “You’re welcome, Raindrops. Now lead the way.” Hope said.

“Alright, girls. Follow me!” Raindrops instructed. And with that, The gang headed deep into the cave, with Raindrops leading them. They went through every tunnel, climbed every wall, jumped through every pitfall, until eventually, they saw a light.

“This must be it!” Hope said. “Come on girls, let’s go!” Raindrops said, happily. The gang then ran towards the light as it went brighter and brighter. Until they saw…

...the way out.

The girls cheered! They made it out of the cave! “You did it, Rainy!” Derpy said, hugging her pegasus friend. “Way to go, Raindrops!” Limestone said happily. “I’m glad you were telling the truth, Raindrops.” Coloratura said happily.

Radiant Hope walked up to Raindrops. “Thanks for getting us out of this cave, Raindrops.” She said gladly. “You’re welcome. And thanks for trusting me Hope.” Raindrops said smiling.

“You’re very welcome.” Hope said with a smile. She then turned to her friends. “Alright, everypony. Let’s keep moving.” She told the group.
The Mane Six then headed deeper into the forest, eagerly waiting for what will come next.

Meanwhile, some dark smoke started to do something to a manticore before flying off. The manticore roared, knowing that something happened to him.

It looks like this manticore will be the next obstacle.

Chapter Eight: Manticore Fight

View Online

As the Mane Six headed deep into the forest, Derpy told the gang how amazing it was that Raindrops saved them from being trapped in that cave.

“...And just as we thought we be trapped here forever, Rainy stepped forward and helped us escape! Derpy said, finishing the story.

“Yes, Derpy, we were there, and we’re very grateful, but we gotta-“ Radiant Hope started before a manticore blocked their path.

“Oh no! It’s a manticore!” Hope told the others. The manticore roared, and the girls knew that they got to get past him. “We've gotta get past him!” Hope told the others.

Derpy stepped forward and was ready to fight. The manticore swung at Derpy, but she dodged and gave a swift punch to the manticore. “Take that, you meanie!” Derpy told the manticore.

Just then, the manticore took another swing at Derpy, but this time, it hit her. Derpy was sent flying and landed on the ground with a big bruise on her right hoof.

“Guys, stop.” Vinyl told the gang, but they didn’t listen.

Limestone was up next. She ran up to the manticore as he roared at her. “I ain’t afraid of you!” Limestone told the manticore. She then tackled the monster and gave him a few punches before the manticore tossed Limestone to ground.

“Guys, stop.” Vinyl again told the gang, but once again, they didn’t listen.

“He’s all yours, Raindrops.” Limestone told Raindrops. “I’m on it!” Raindrops said, bravely. She flew up to the manticore and flew around him, trying to get him dizzy. It worked and Raindrops flew in for the punch, but that’s when the manticore regained his composure, and punched Raindrops right in the face! That punch sent Raindrops right to the ground.

“Raindrops!” Hope said in shock. Raindrops stood up in pain. “That guy’s so powerful!” Raindrops told the gang. That’s when they have to go full force on the manticore.

The girls looked at the manticore, the manticore looked at them back, and the five charged at the manticore, ready to strike him down. But just before they could do that…

STOP!”

Vinyl’s scream stopped the girls. She then turned to the manticore, and walked up to him. The manticore started to lift his paw at Vinyl, and the girls looked away from what’s about to happen.

But somehow Vinyl calmed him down. “Hey, it’s okay. I’m not here to hurt you, I’m here to help you.” Vinyl told the manticore. The five ponies were confused. “What is she doing?” Coloratura told Limestone. Limestone only shrugged.

The manticore looked at Vinyl. “Don’t worry, I’m here to help you with whatever problem you have.” Vinyl said happily. The manticore then showed Vinyl his paw, which had a thorn in it.

“So there’s the problem, a thorn stuck in your paw. Wow, whoever did this to you really hates your guts.” Vinyl told the manticore.

“Wow, I never knew that Vinyl was so good with animals.” Derpy said. “Yeah, me neither.” Raindrops said.

Vinyl grabbed the paw. “Alright, hold still. This might hurt a little.” She then yanked the thorn out of the paw, which makes the manticore immediately grab Vinyl and roar at her.

“VINYL!” The five girls screamed. But then, the manticore started to lick Vinyl. She laughed and he licked her. “Stop! That tickles!” She said, laughing.

After that, the manticore set Vinyl on the ground and walked off. “Bye, manticore!” Vinyl said waving at him.

Hope walked up to Vinyl. “How did you know about the thorn?” She asked Vinyl. “I didn't. Sometimes we all just need to be shown a little kindness.” Vinyl said.

With that, the Mane Six headed deeper into the Everfree Forest. With the manticore now gone, the girls knew that getting to the Elements of Harmony will be easy.

Oh, how wrong they were.

Chapter Nine: Laugh The Darkness Away

View Online

The girls headed deep into the forest, as it got even darker and darker. “Oh man, It’s so dark and spooky in here.” Derpy said shivering in fear. “That ancient ruin could be right in front of our faces and we wouldn't even know it.” Hope said.

But as it got even darker, the girls didn’t know where they were going. They would bump into someone, step on something, and other dumb stuff.

That’s when Derpy bumped into something. But when she looked at what it was, she screamed.

“Derpy, what the heck are you screaming about?” Limestone asked. She then turned around, and saw a scary tree. And the whole area was full of scary trees.

The girls screamed in fear. But suddenly, they heard laughter. The girls were confused. Who was laughing? They turned around and saw Coloratura laughing.

Coloratura was laughing. And that girl was laughing hard. “Coloratura, what are you doing?! Run!” Hope told her. “Girls, there’s nothing to be afraid of.” Coloratura told them. But the girls weren't buying it.

“Rara, what the hay are you talking about?!” Vinyl asked. Coloratura only smiled, then she began to sing.

I was just like you, afraid
When the sun was going down.

“What is she doing?” Hope asked.

There were darkness and monsters
And they would always make me frown.

“Singing, apparently.” Raindrops said.

I was scared and petrified from all the things I saw.
But when I was older, I knew that wasn’t the way to deal with fears at all.

“Then what is?” Limestone asked.

I knew that I have to stand up tall, and learn to face my fears.
I know that they can’t hurt me, and laughing will make them disappear.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

And just like that, the scary tree turned into a normal tree. The girls were surprised.

So, laugh the darkness away!
Don’t make those monsters here to stay!
They might come to torment you,
So show them what you can do!
Just laugh the darkness away!
Don’t make those monsters here to stay!

And go tell those scary things to take a hike and leave you alone. And if you think they can scare you then they got another thing coming and the very idea of such a thing makes you just wanna HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. ha..

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuugh!

And soon, all the scary trees were gone and the girls were laughing. After a few minutes of this, they stopped.

“Dude, that was awesome!” Limestone said happily. “Rara, you were amazing!” Vinyl said, hugging her friend. “Thanks, guys.” Coloratura said.

“Hey, it’s not dark anymore.” Hope said. The girls looked around and knew she was right. “Looks like we literally laughed the darkness away.” Limestone said.

“Well girls, let's keep moving.” Hope told the others. And they were off.

Now that they laughed the darkness away, the girls were ready for the next challenge.

Chapter Ten: The Very Hungry Forest Monster

View Online

The girls headed deeper into the forest, when Limestone’s stomach began to rumble. “Man, I’m so hungry.” Limestone said. “Don’t worry, Limestone. I know just the thing!” Derpy said, pulling out a bag of muffins.

“Muffins? Really?” Hope said, looking at Derpy’s muffin bag. “Hey, you can never know when it will come in handy.” Derpy told Hope.

Just then, the girls started to hear crying. “Why is there someone crying?” Coloratura asked. The girls headed to where the crying is coming from, and soon they found that the person who was crying was a forest monster.

His body was green and fuzzy and had sticks and logs for arms and legs. “Oh, woe is me.”
The forest monster cried out. Hope walked up the forest monster. “Excuse me, sir. Why are you crying?” Hope asked.

“Well, I don't know. I was just sitting here, minding my own business, when this tacky little cloud of purple smoke just whisked past me and stole my food! Now, I’m so hungry!” The forest monster said before going back to crying.

“Oh, give me a break.” Raindrops muttered. “That's what all the fuss is about?” Limestone said.

“Of course it is! Just look at that guy! He’s just sitting here enjoying his lunch when it was stolen by a big meanie!” Derpy exclaimed. She then turned to the forest monster. “I’m very sorry about what happened to your food, sir.” She said sympathetically.

“I’m glad you knew my pain, but it’s no use being sympathetic. With no food, I’ll probably just die.” The forest monster said. Derpy was sad for that guy. She wanted to make him happy but she doesn’t know how.

That’s when Derpy spotted her muffin bag and had a plan. She took the bag and gave it to the monster. “Here, you can have my food.” Derpy told the forest monster.

“Really?” The forest monster asked. “Of course. Besides, muffins are better than sticks and leaves.” Derpy said happily.

The forest monster smiled. “Oh thank you so much little pony!” He said. “You’re very welcome, mister forest monster.” Derpy replied.

“Well, I must go now. I have a lot of yummy muffins to eat. Thanks again, little pony.” The forest monster said before leaving.

“Derpy, you just gave away your muffins to this forest monster!” Hope told Derpy. “It’s okay though. Besides, the muffins were handy for this one.” Derpy said happily.

“Wow, I never knew you cared about a guy who was hungry.” Raindrops told Derpy. Derpy smiled. “Well, at least I did something good for once.” Derpy said happily.

“Come on girls, let's keep moving.” Hope told the others. And with that, the girls ventured onward.

It feels like their journey is almost over.

Chapter Eleven: Limestone’s Choice

View Online

The girls headed deep into the forest, until eventually, they found it. “There it is, the ruin that holds The Elements of Harmony. We made it!” Radiant Hope said happily.

Hope ran forward to the castle. “Hope, wait for us!” Derpy called out. “We’re almost there!” Hope told her friends, when soon she fell off a ledge. Raindrops grabbed Hope and pulled her up. “What's with you and falling off cliffs today?” She told her.

The girls looked at the bridge. It was all broken. “Great. Now what do we do?” Vinyl said.
Hope got an idea. “I’ll bring the ends of the bridge to the other side and I’ll teleport Limestone to the other side to tie up the bridge!” Hope explained.

“Well, if it’ll work.” Coloratura said. Hope used her magic to bring the ends of the bridge to the other side. She then turned to Limestone. “You ready?” She asked Limestone. Limestone nodded. Hope then teleported Limestone.

Limestone grabbed the first end of the bridge and tied it up to the first rock. She then grabbed the second end of the bridge. But just as Limestone was about to tie to the second rock.

“Limestone…”

Limestone stopped. “Who’s out there?” She called out.

“Limestone…”

Limestone got into a fighting stance. “I ain't scared of you! Show yourself!” She said. Just then, Limestone saw three people emerging from the fog. Those three people are none other than her mother, her father, and her sister.

“Mom? Dad? Marble?” Limestone said. “Yes Limestone, it’s us.” Limestone’s dad said. “We missed you so much our wonderful daughter.” Limestone’s mom said happily.

Limestone smiled. “I miss you guys too. But what are you doing here?” She asked. “We came to take you back home, Limestone.” Limestone’s dad told Limestone. Limestone was shocked. “Back home? You mean back to the rock farm?” She asked.

“Of course. We want you to come back home with us.” Limestone’s mom said. “Yes, we want you to come back to the farm and stay there with us.” Limestone’s dad added.

Limestone thought about it. She loves her family, but her leaving her friends to go back to her family isn’t right. “Look you guys. I love to, but I have to stay here with my friends.” Limestone told her family.

“No! It's them or us!” Limestone’s mom told Limestone. Limestone was worried. She now has to choose between her friends and family.

Back on the other side, the girls are impatient. “Limestone, what’s taking so long?” Hope called out. She then saw Limestone with her family, and knew right away that things weren’t right. She knew that this wasn’t Limestone’s family.

“Limestone! Don’t listen to them! They’re tricking you!” Hope called out. But Limestone’s “mom” raised her hoof and made the fog clear the other side of the bridge.

“Well?” Limestone’s “dad” asked. Limestone thought about it. She really loved her family, but her leaving her friends would be bad. But then she realized that her family wouldn’t let her abandon her friends.

Limestone knew that her fake family would let her betray them, but she won’t let that happen.

Limestone then gave an answer. “You.”

Limestone’s “family” smiled evilly. They now will bring Limestone back “home” which actually means that they’ll throw Limestone into the dungeons, which means that Limestone will never finish with the bridge, and that means Equestria will be in eternal night forever.

But before they could say anything, Limestone stepped up. “If you were my real family. My real family would not let me betray my friends. And you are not my real family.” Limestone told them.

Limestone then ran through the fog, grabbed the second end of the bridge, and tied to the second rock. While she was doing it, Limestone’s “family” turned into dark smoke and flew away.

Then the fog cleared, and Limestone can see her friends. Hope and the girls cheered happily as they ran through the bridge and right to Limestone. “I’m glad you chose us, Limestone.” Hope said happily.

Limestone smiled. “What can I say? I would never leave my friends hanging.” She said.

And with that, The Mane Six headed into the castle. The girls had finally found them.

Now it’s time to use them to defeat Nightmare Moon!

Chapter Twelve: The Power of The Elements of Harmony

View Online

Our heroines walked right into the castle hallways, excited to save Equestria from eternal night.

“I can’t believe that we’re going to save Equestria!” Raindrops told Radiant Hope. “Who would have thought, huh? A group of outsiders wrapped up in an adventure like this.” She added.

“It is pretty exciting, Raindrops.” Hope said. “Let’s just hope that we’ll make it out in one piece.” She added.

The girls then were face to face with a door. Limestone turned to Hope. “Come on, Hope. Isn't this what you've been waitin' for?” She asked. Hope nodded. And then, she opened the door.

And finally, they have found them. “The Elements of Harmony, we've found them.” Hope said.

Raindrops and Derpy flew over to the Elements and grabbed them one by one. “Careful, careful!” Hope told the two Pegasi.

As Raindrops and Derpy brought the elements to the ground, Vinyl counted them.

“One, two, three, four…” Vinyl counted. As soon as Derpy put the final Element on the ground, Vinyl was confused. “There's only five!” She said.

Coloratura looked at the five elements. “Vinyl’s right. Where’s the sixth?” She asked. Hope then remembered something. “The book said: ‘when the five are present, a spark will cause the sixth Element to be revealed.’” Hope told the others. “What is that supposed to mean?” Derpy asked.

“I'm not sure, but I have an idea. Stand back. I don't know what will happen.” Hope told the others. The girls did as Hope told them to do. Hope used her magic and the elements began to glow. The five looked in awe as Hope concentrated. “This is so cool.” Limestone whispered.

Just then, a nightmarish cloud of smoke swooped by the swallowed the elements in its smoke. The girls were shocked. Mostly Hope. “Hope, what’s going on?” Raindrops asked in fear.

But Hope didn’t listen, instead she knew what was happening. “The Elements!” Hope said in shock. And soon, she jumped into the smoke. And it disappeared. The five ponies were shocked.

They began searching everywhere to find their friend, but they couldn’t see to find where she went. “Hope, where are you?” Coloratura called out, but she couldn’t hear her. Just then, Derpy found something.

“Girls! I think I found where Hope could be!” Derpy called out. “Really? Where?” Limestone asked. Derpy then pointed to a high tower. “Looks like that’s where we have to go.” Raindrops said. “You’re right. Now come on! Let’s do this!” Coloratura said.

And the five ponies headed to the high tower to find Hope.

~~~
Up in the tower, Hope was there and was coughing up smoke. But as soon as she stood up, she saw Nightmare Moon with the Elements of Harmony.
“Well, it seems that you have brought the Elements to me. Good job, little unicorn.” Nightmare Moon said. Hope was shocked, but she still had a chance.
Hope began to charge up her speed. Nightmare Moon became unamused. “You're kidding. You're kidding, right?” She asked. But Hope wasn’t kidding. She charged up some more and ran foward. “Very well, then.” Nightmare Moon said.
Nightmare Moon then ran straight toward Radiant Hope. The two ponies began running to each other getting faster and faster. And as they were getting closer, Hope did a teleportation spell and teleported to the elements.
Hope took a deep breath. “Just one spark.” She said. Hope closed her eyes and began to use her magic on the elements. Nightmare Moon saw what was happening and wouldn’t let it happen. She turned into smoke and flew to Hope and the elements.
But before she could do anything, a spark of magic that Hope casted had knocked her back. Hope stood up and saw the elements glowing with pink magic.
“No, no!” Nightmare Moon said in fear. She knew that soon, she was going to be defeated. Hope smiled with determination. She knew that she had done it.
But then, the magic had faded away and yet, nothing happened. No sixth element has appeared. Hope was confused and shocked. “I don’t understand. Where's the sixth Element?!” Hope said.
Nightmare Moon only laughed evilly as she stomped her front hooves to the ground, shattering the elements into pieces. Hope looked in fear and shock as the remains of the elements lie on the floor.
“You little foal! Thinking you could defeat me? Now you will never see your princess, or your sun! The night.. will last.. FOREVER!” Nightmare Moon exclaimed.
Hope was devastated. She had failed to defeat Nightmare Moon, and now Equestria will fall into eternal night.
“Hang on Hope, we’re coming!”
Hope heard the voices of her five team members. She turned and saw that they were coming to her.
Just then, Hope knew that these five ponies that will help her are her friends. But she now knows that they are not just her regular friends.
They were her true friends.
Radiant Hope turned to Nightmare Moon. “You think you can destroy The Elements of Harmony just like that? Well, you're wrong, because the spirits of The Elements of Harmony are right here!” She exclaimed.
During that, Limestone, Vinyl, Raindrops, Coloratura, and Derpy went right to Hope, being filled with determination.
Then, the remains of the Elements of Harmony began to glow and float around Nightmare Moon. “What?” Nightmare Moon said in shock.
Hope turned to Raindrops.
“Raindrops, who let her trust us when we were trapped in that cave, represents the spirit of… Honesty!”
Some floating crystals started to circle around Raindrops. She was shocked but smiled.
Hope then turned to Vinyl.
“Vinyl Scratch, who tamed the manticore with her compassion, represents the spirit of… Kindness!
More floating crystals started to circle around Vinyl. She eagerly smiled happily.
Hope then turned to Coloratura.
“Coloratura, who banished the darkness by giggling in the face of danger, represents the spirit of… Laughter!
More floating crystals started to circle around Coloratura. She smiled and nodded happily.
Hope then turned to Derpy.
“Derpy Hooves, who gave her food to a hungry forest monster, represents the spirit of… Generosity!”
More floating crystals started to circle around Derpy. She flapped her wings with a smile on her face.
Finally, Hope turned to Limestone.
“And Limestone Pie, who could not abandon her friends for people who were her family, represents the spirit of… Loyalty!”
Finally, the last group of crystals started to circle around Limestone. She nodded bravely.
“The spirits of these five ponies got us through every challenge you threw at us.” Hope told Nightmare Moon. “You still don't have the sixth Element! The spark didn't work!” Nightmare Moon exclaimed. “But it did! A different kind of spark.” Hope said.
“Back then, when I first made a friend, I thought that he would stick with me no matter what. But soon, he became corrupted by the darkness. I knew that if I made a friend, they would just betray me.” Hope explained. She then turned to her friends.
“But now, when I’m here looking at all of you, you all have given me courage, compassion, and love. Something that my old friend has never given to me before.” Hope continued. Derpy and Coloratura have tears coming down their eyes, while Raindrops, Vinyl, and Limestone were smiling proudly.
“The spark ignited inside me when I realized you would always be there for me. You all may be my friends, but you are so much more than that. You all are more than my friends. You all are...my true friends!” Hope finished.
Just then, a bright light shined through the room. The girls looked up to see that the sixth and final element was revealed. Hope smiled proudly.
“You see, Nightmare Moon, when those Elements are ignited by the… the spark, that resides in the heart of us all, it creates the sixth element: the element of… Magic!” Hope exclaimed.
The crystals that were floating around Limestone, Derpy, Vinyl, Raindrops, and Coloratura then turned into necklaces while the sixth element turned into a crown for Hope. The six elements then blasted a rainbow right into Nightmare Moon.
“Nooo! Nooo!” Nightmare Moon screamed as the Elements consumed her in a rainbow tornado. The power of the elements has defeated Nightmare Moon and ended her reign of eternal night.
A bright white light began to shine through the tower.
Chapter Thirteen: Friendship Is Magic
Once there was a bright light that filled the tower, now the light has faded. Radiant Hope managed to stand up and rub her head. For some reason, her head started hurting.
Eventually, her friends managed to stand up and started rubbing their heads. “Ugh, my head.” Raindrops said, groaning as she rubbed her head.
“Is everypony okay?” Limestone asked. “Yeah, I think so.” Derpy said, rubbing her head as well. Just then, Vinyl looked over and saw her necklace. She gasped and turned to her friends.
“Guys! Look! Our necklaces are in the shape of our cutie marks!” Vinyl told the others. The girls looked at their necklaces, and knew that Vinyl was right. Their necklaces were in the shape of their cutie marks.
For Raindrops, a light blue raindrop. For Vinyl, a red music note. For Coloratura, a golden star. For Derpy, grey bubbles, and for Limestone, a green lime. “Woah, awesome!” Limestone said.
“Hey, that’s not fair! Why does Hope get the fancy crown?!” Derpy yelled. Hope looked up, and saw that Derpy was right. She has a crown and that it was the shape of her cutie mark. Hope was surprised and happy at the same time.
“You know, Hope, We all thought you were talking nonsense. But, I think you’re right. I think we really do represent the Elements of Harmony.” Raindrops told Hope.
“Indeed you do.” said a voice. The girls were shocked. “Who said that?” Derpy asked. Then, they saw a yellow light growing brighter and brighter. The light came down and it was revealed to be Princess Celestia. Vinyl, Derpy, Limestone, Raindrops, and Coloratura all bowed when they saw her.
“Princess Celestia!” Hope said and ran up to hug her. “My dear Radiant Hope. I knew you could do it.” Princess Celestia said, hugging back. Hope then became confused. “But I don’t understand. You told me it was an old pony’s tale.” Hope told Celestia.
Princess Celestia smiled. “I told you that you needed to make some friends, nothing more.” she explained. “I saw the signs of Nightmare Moon's return, and I knew it was you who had the magic inside to defeat her, but you could not unleash it until you let true friendship into your heart.”
Hope smiled. “Well you were right. I did manage to defeat her and I found true friends for the very first time.” She said, looking at her friends. “True friends for the win!” Vinyl shouted. Celestia smiled. “Hope, you must be one very lucky pony. You have made some friends that’ll always be there, showing that they will be true. Now if only another will as well.”
The six ponies all looked to the end of the hallway and saw a young alicorn with a light blue coat and an even light blue mane and tail. “Princess Luna!” Princess Celestia exclaimed. Hope was shocked.
“No way.. That’s Princess Luna.” Hope said. “You know who she is?!” Limestone exclaimed. Hope nodded. The girls all looked as Princess Celestia walked over to Princess Luna.
“It has been a thousand years since I have seen you like this. Time to put our differences behind us. We were meant to rule together, little sister.’’ Celestia told Luna.
SISTER?!” Vinyl, Raindrops, Derpy, Limestone, and Coloratura exclaimed. Raindrops turned to Hope. “You never told us that Princess Luna was Princess Celestia’s sister!” Raindrops exclaimed. Hope smiled. “I guess I forgot to tell you.” She said. Derpy shushed the two girls. “Be quiet girls!” Derpy told them. They did what Derpy said.
“Will you accept my friendship?” Celestia asked her younger sister. The six ponies all leaned in anticipation. Derpy leaned too far and hit the ground. Luna looked to the ground, and back to her sister, and then ran up and hugged her. “I'm so sorry! I missed you so much, big sister!” Princess Luna said tearfully. “I've missed you, too.” Princess Celestia replied.
Vinyl and Derpy immediately began crying. But Vinyl somehow stopped crying and was suddenly happy. “Hey, we just found out that Nightmare Moon was the Princess’ younger sister, and we saved her! This calls for a celebration!” Vinyl said happily.
Derpy stopped crying. “Vinyl, do you mean..?” She said. Vinyl smiled. “Oh yeah I do.” She said. Vinyl put on her DJ Glasses and looked at the five girls, who knew exactly what Vinyl was thinking.
“LET’S PARTY!!”
~~~

And party they did. All of Ponyville began to celebrate the return of both the day and Princess Luna. It was a huge celebration, even huger than Vinyl’s rave.

There was a lot of food created by Limestone and her sister Pinkie Pie. There were cupcakes, cakes, pies, and a whole lot more. And everypony was eating it up like hotcakes! Limestone and Pinkie gave each other a hoof bump for a job well done.

Derpy and Raindrops did a lot for the celebration. Derpy was the one who did the weather, and she made it look good. It was a clear blue sky with no clouds in sight. As for Raindrops, since she admired how cool the decor was, she was in charge of the decor for this celebration. And she made it look amazing. The two pegasi really did do a lot for this celebration.

Vinyl and Rara make a perfect team when it comes to the music for the celebration. Who would’ve thought that Vinyl’s dubstep accompanied with Coloratura’s piano music would make the music sound amazing? And to them, it was the perfect musical collaboration.

As for Radiant Hope, she partied with her new best friends. She finally felt happy knowing that she finally found true friends who would never betray her. And she finally smiled for the first time in months.

But good things never last. At least for Hope.

During the middle of the celebration, Hope told her new friends that she has to go back to Canterlot. They were all sad to see her go, and before she left, they all wanted to say one final goodbye to her.

“Man, I can’t believe you're actually leaving.” Vinyl said. “Yeah, and after we all became friends.” Derpy added. Hope was a little disappointed. She completed her mission and can go home, but that means she won’t see her friends again for a very long time.

“We’re all gonna miss you, Hope.” Coloratura said, holding back a few tears. “Hey, If you ever have the chance, we’d love for you to drop by for a visit.” Raindrops said. Hope smiled. But she knew she can’t stay in Ponyville forever, she has to go back to Canterlot.

Limestone gave Hope a hug. “See ya, Hope.” Limestone said. Hope smiled. “Goodbye, girls.” She said. Hope then walked over to the carriage, but stopped halfway. She didn’t want to leave, because it means not seeing her friends for a very long time. Princess Celestia walked up to Hope.

“Why so glum, my dear Radiant Hope? Are you not happy that your quest is complete and you can return to your studies in Canterlot?” Princess Celestia asked. “That’s just it. Just when I finally found my true friends, I have to leave them.” Hope said.

Raindrops didn’t want Hope to go, so she flew over to Princess Celestia. “Princess, you have to let Hope stay! We all don’t want to see her go, and she doesn’t want to go either!” Raindrops exclaimed. “Rainy’s right! Please Princess, let her stay!” Derpy pleaded.

“This unicorn was so cool, there’s gotta be some way for her to stay.” Vinyl said. “I agree. You have to do something.” Coloratura added. Hope looked at her new friends and smiled, she was so happy that her friends wanted her to stay.

Princess Celestia took the five ponies words to heart, and knew what must be done. “Spike, take a note, please.” Spike did what the Princess ordered. As she spoke, Spike wrote down her words.

“I, Princess Celestia, hereby decree that the unicorn Radiant Hope shall take on a new mission for Equestria. She must continue to study the magic of friendship. She must report to me her findings from her new home in Ponyville.”

Radiant Hope and her friends were surprised. “Does that mean she’s staying?!” Derpy asked excitedly. Princess Celestia nodded, and the five ponies cheered.

“I am so glad that you’re not leaving, Hope!” Raindrops said happily. “Now we can all be friends forever!” Coloratura added. “It looks like we really are your true friends.” Limestone said, smiling.

“GROUP HUG!” Vinyl & Derpy exclaimed. And the Mane Six went in for a group hug, symbolizing the beginning of a brand new friendship. “Oh thank you, Princess Celestia! I'll study harder than ever before.” Hope said happily.

“Come on girls! Let’s get some cupcakes at Sugarcube Corner to celebrate!” Limestone said happily. And the Mane Six all headed to Sugarcube Corner to celebrate their new friendship with cupcakes.

And with that, the first chapter of Radiant Hope’s journey has come to an end. She now has true best friends, and a new home to study friendship in. It looks like the future for Radiant Hope and her friends is looking bright.
