What happens when Sombra decides that half of all Equestria must die, but he finds six ponies that slip their way into his heart. Half of Equestria will die, but not these six. This starts before the Cutie-Mark Rainboom (you know. The one that got the mane six their Cutie-Marks)
I found nothing while looking for this Idea so I came up with one. I am not the best speller so please don't judge. Please don'y hate it. It's my first ever finished story. But please comment
Thousands of crystal ponies swarmed the houses outside of the walls of Canterlot. Unicorns were running every which way any who tried to fight back were killed. The Crystal army starts putting ponies into two groups, searching houses and fighting the defenders. King Sombra, lord of the Crystal Empire was among them. He was the last of the Curved Horns, a kind of unicorn with a curved horn (Not to be mixed up with their Japanese counter-parts) they were known for their knowledge in dark magic. Sombra and three of his soldiers entered a house. The soldiers took hold of a mare and stallion in the living room while Sombra checked the upstairs. The Black King opened a door and found a young filly reading a book. As Sombra stepped closer he saw it was a book on basic magic. Sombra saw this filly's potential flash before his eyes.
As he stepped forward he said, "Hello young one. What do you have there?' The filly turned and looked at him for quite a while.
Finally she said, "Just a book on magic, sir."
Sombra chuckled, "No, 'Sir,' please. I don't need formalities. What is your name young one?"
"Twilight Sparkle."
"Well young Twilight I can see great potential in you. Come with me, and I can teach you a great many things about magic and make you even stronger than Celestia herself," Sombra offered. Twilight gasped.
"You can teach me magic and make me stronger than the princess?"
"Yes, whatever you want."
""Yes! I will study under you!" Twilight said eagerly.
"Good come with me." The two walked downstairs and out the door.
"First rule, sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the knowledge we want," Sombra said. Twilight nodded and watched as Sombra gave the order to kill the left side, which happened to have Twilight's parents on it.
Sombra and his new daughter headed south to a small town called Ponyville. Celestia had however sent ten hundred soldiers to fortify and defend it. The people in the farms surrounding Ponyville were advised to harvest quickly what they could, bring it into town and move into town. One older mare named Granny Smith refused to leave her farm to be destroyed by "those shiny statues," as she put it. Her two grandchildren Big Mac and Applejack were too loyal to Granny Smith to leave her there by herself. Sombra's army attacked the farm. Twilight herself tackled little Applejack.
"Good job, Twilight," Sombra said walking over.
"Thank you, Father," Twilight replied still on top of Applejack. Sombra leaned down to look at Applejack.
"You have heart kid. I have an offer for you. Come work for me and I will leave your Granny alone."
"You promise?" Applejack said hopeful.
"I swear on Celestia's life, we will not kill your Granny," Sombra promised.
"Okay, I'll go with you," Applejack said.
"Excellent," Sombra grinned, "Let's go." As they walked away Sombra turned and pointed to the right, where Big Mac was being restrained. One soldier walked up with a sword and decapitated him.
As the discussed where to go next they saw a cloud ring floating in the sky. Suddenly, a rainbow streak dove towards it, went through the rind and went back up. Where the streak had bounced a large explosion shot out and a wave of rainbow stretched across the sky..
Sombra smiled, "Girls, have you ever been to Cloudsdale?"
Celestia didn't send soldiers to defend Cloudsdale because she didn't think Sombra's army could get there. Sombra put ten Soldiers into a balloon, then sent twenty Balloons to Cloudsdale. Sombra had cast a spell that had let his army walk on clouds. Sombra and his daughters searched Cloudsdale for the pony who had done the Sonic Rainboom. While walking through a small neighborhood on the south side of Cloudsdale, Twilight nudged Sombra.
"Father, there is a filly over there with a rainbow mane speeding around a house over there."
"Good work, Twilight. Let's go pay them a visit." As the three of them walked over to the house the filly saw them.
"Dad! Two unicorns and an earth pony are coming this way and not falling through the clouds," she called.
"Okay, Rainbow, where?" A stallion's voice asked. A grayish blue pegasus with a rainbow mane cut into a buzz cut looked over the fence at them. The stallion's eyes widened.
"Rainbow get in the house now!" Rainbow looked at the three of them in confusion then turned and went inside. The stallion stood in the gate, his face showed he was scared but determined.
"I'm sorry, sir, but i can't let you in. I know you will hurt my family, and i can't let you do that,"
Sombra sighed, "Then I have no choice. Twilight?" Twilight's horn lit up and shot a blast at the stallion killing him instantly. As they entered the house, they saw the filly, Rainbow, being held by who must have been her mother. Two of Sombra's soldiers entered behind them.
"Seize the mother. Leave the foal," Sombra ordered. With many a protest the soldiers were finally able to drag the mother away leaving the little filly. The filly was trying to be brave, but when Sombra met her eyes she cowered before him.
"No need to be afraid little Rainbow," Sombra said.
"The name's Rainbow Dash, and I'm not afraid," the filly said, boldly.
"Yes. Of course," Sombra said, "One with such a great warrior's potential could never be afraid." Rainbow perked up.
"Warrior's potential?" she asked eyes shining.
"Yes. You have the potential to be a great warrior, but only if someone, like myself, trains you. I am willing to train you if you want."
"Yes! Of course!" Rainbow Dash was jumping up and down with excitement.
"Good. First take this," Sombra showed Rainbow a long stick with a blade on each end, "This is a glaive. And this particular glaive is suppose to have a special connection with it's master, but the glaive must choose you. Reach out your hoof to touch it." Rainbow reached her hoof out, and the glaive flew into her hoof.
"Good that means you were destined to be this weapon's master. It is yours. Now your first lesson is to learn how to kill with your weapon. Bring her in." Two soldiers dragged a pony with a sack over her head into the room.
Sombra smiled, "With a glave you can slash, stab or decapitate. Now decapitate this pony. You decapitate by. . ." Before Sombra could finish Rainbow Dash raised the glaive and cut off the pony's head.
". . .By doing just that," Sombra said, "Come Rainbow Dash. We are your new family." Rainbow ran quickly out of the house followed by Twilight and Applejack. Sombra waited until they were out of sight. Then removed the pony's head from the bag.
"You and your husband raised her well, but I will be the one to lead her to her full potential," he said to the head.
"You," he said, pointing to a soldier, "Pick which side to kill." The soldier saluted then marched off.
As Sombra left the house he noticed three of his soldiers chasing a young filly around the street. She was yellow with a pink mane and tail. As one of the soldiers got close the filly turned to look at the soldier and crashed into Sombra. The filly looked up at him with big eyes.
"Please help me," She begged.
"Halt," Sombra ordered, "I will deal with this little one." The soldiers bowed and went in search of anypony else.
"Now where are your parents, small one?" Sombra asked.
The filly sniffed, "I don't know. They told me to hide. Then there was shouting and doors slamming. When I came out my parents and brother were gone. Then those three came and tried to get me."
"Don't worry, small one. I can help you."
"You can?" she asked.
"Of course. I will take you in. What is your name by the way?"
"Fluttershy."
"Well, Fluttershy, let's go introduce you to your new sisters."
