Ponyville was having a perfectly normal day until they came. Ponyville will never be the same again.

When the zombies came, there was no escape, not even for the best and brightest. Wild Ace and his friends barely made it out along with the Mane 6. Will they ever recover?

When the zombies came, we had no idea about where they came from. All we knew was that they were dangerous and had to be stopped. This is the the story of zombies. This is my story.

-x-

As I woke up on one fine morning, I noticed something felt different than it usually did in the small town of Ponyville. There was no hiss from the hot air balloons as the early tourists came in to see Twilight Sparkle’s great crystal castle. There was no idle chatter that sometimes floated through my window. But, the most surprising thing was that I couldn’t hear Pinkie Pie doing anything! After that, I knew something was up. So I grabbed my fedora and flew out the door.

-2 minutes later-

After doing a full lap of town, I realised that no ponies were here! “Hello? Anypony there?”, I shouted, but no Ponyville responded. I went to the Town Hall and I found something stunning: every single pony of Ponyville was gathered there to listen to a speech put on by Twilight. I ran in and just caught the end of it.

“... and so, I urge all of you to stay in your homes. It is to keep you all safe from the... things. On that note, everyone back to your houses at once!” As the meeting broke up, I caught snippets of info from the speech as I trotted up to the stand. It was all about these things and an attack of some sorts. I flew over to Twilight to talk to her about her speech. “Hey, Twilight, what was your speech about? Because I might have missed it from the safety of my warm and comfortable bed.” As she stared at me, I got the feeling like something wasn’t right.

“Twilight? Hello, Ponyville to Twilight!” She blinked twice and shook her head.

“Sorry, what was that? I was thinking about the attacks on Manehattan and Fillydelphia. The world is getting weirder by the day, isn’t it Ace?” As this information soaked in, I had a sudden realisation: Vancouver was far away from there. My parents are safe!

“This isn’t great. What are the things that attacked?” That was probably the wrong question to ask as she shivered at the thought, but she answered it.

“The ponies that survived are saying that they were zombies.” In my mind, I started panicking. I was not ready for zombies yet. This is going to get ugly.

I woke up the next morning and I remembered a dream that I had last night: Ponyville in ruins, with dead ponies everywhere and at the centre of it all: a horde of zombies. I went to Twilight about it to see what she had to say. “Twilight, I had a dream about the zombies standing in the smoking ruins of Ponyville and I was wondering if Princess Luna sent me that dream because it’s a premonition and she needs us to know so that we can evacuate before the zombies come and invade our home?” After saying that all in one breath (just like Pinkie Pie when she gets overexcited, I might add), I was taking a few deep breaths to steady my heartbeat as I let what I said sink into the Princess of Friendship.

*30 seconds later*

The entire library was in shambles as Twilight pulled out every single book that was on the shelves, much to Spike’s annoyance, as told by him shouting “Hey, I just finished organising those!” and flying off mumbling under his breath.

“AH HA! I found it! Perplexing Pony Illnesses, the book that should help us cure the virus!” Twilight poofed down to the ground and started to flick through the pages frantically searching for something, anything that could shed some light on the outbreak and how to cure it.

“Uh, Twilight? Are you okay?” As I asked my question, Starlight Glimmer burst into the room panicking like there was no tomorrow.

“Twilight! Oh, thank Celestia I found you! Spike has a problem and he needs your help!” She looked up from the book which isn’t like Twilight, but these are extensive circumstances.

“Why, what’s wrong?”, she asked as she continued to read the book.

“He has a message from Princess Celestia that needs your attention.” With that, Twilight snapped the book shut and ran out the door to Spike’s room.

*at Spike’s room*

Twilight burst into Spike’s room with Starlight and I hot on her hooves. “Spike! What does the letter say? I need to know if there’s any new information about the virus that I should know about!” As she shouted, Spike walked out with the letter in his claw.

“I just got this letter. It has news about the zombies.”, he said with a somber expression on his face as he handed the letter to Twilight. She took it and unfurled the tightly rolled scroll to look at the information it held. She gasped as she read through the scroll in its entirety and when she was done, she sank to the floor sobbing quietly.

“Twilight, what’s wrong?”, I asked, knowing that it wouldn’t be good.

“Look at the scroll.” I grabbed the scroll and read it aloud.

“Dear Princess Twilight, Canterlot is under attack by the zombies. We fear that we won’t be able to hold out anymore unless you can get here fast to help us defend our home and save my citizens!” As I read the scroll, my ears drooped and my jaw dropped lower and lower.

“No...”

“Okay girls, Canterlot has fallen and we need to defend Ponyville. Applejack, evacuate the other ponies. Send them to Mount Equis with the Hippogriffs.” Applejack nodded and galloped out the door.

“Rarity, start making camouflage suits for us. Make sure you have all of our measurements, including Wild Ace’s , Sugardash’s and Jade Vision’s. Got it?”

Rarity giggled. ”Oh, darling. Did you really think that I didn’t already have every single present pony’s measurements?” With that, she galloped towards her boutique.

“Fluttershy, get the animals out of the forest and help them evacuate to Mount Equis too. Alright?”

She nodded and whispered “Okay Twilight, I will get on it.” With that she trotted out the door to her house.

“The rest of you, prepare the town to block off the zombies. We will defend this town!” Everyone cheered and stormed out the door. This was going to be the fight of our lives.
