Chapter 1:Discovery
Sunset frowns as she holds her book in her hands, the writing in the book is unlike she has ever seen, a mix of fonts and styles without any introduction
Sunset a dangerous force has attacked Equestria, we need your help!
Sunset shook her head as she sent a text to her friends “Girls we need to talk, meet me at the damaged statue at the front of Canterlot High!”
An hour later Sunset’s friends approached her outside the statue “What’s wrong Sunset?”
Sunset frowned “A dangerous threat has attacked Equestria and they need my help.”
Rainbow shouted “What if it’s a trap!”
Applejack scowled “What if it isn’t? This is her homeland Rainbow!”
Rarity nodded “I agree, you should go back.”
Fluttershy smiled “Tell Princess Twilight we said hi.”
Pinkie frowned her mane flat “I have a feeling things are really bad over there, be careful will you.”
Twilight said “I’ll take care of your book while your gone.”
Sunset gave her the book with a smile “Take care girls, I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
Sunset stepped through the portal only to herself in a really dark room. She shook her head, she frowned a she thought (Now how do I see…oh) her horn glowed lightning up the room. She gasped at the room she was in it was much larger then before and machines of all different types littered the room, she was so busy looking around she didn’t notice something in front of her and tripped.
She opened her eyes and screamed as she saw a pale white unicorn skeleton in front of her ,laying there next to a strange vacuum cleaner, a note was on the ponies lap. It read in bright red letters
If anypony is reading this please turn on the machine beside me.
Sunset turned to see a lever poking out one of the machines, she pulled the lever only to jump backwards as the machine begun to whirr and splutter before fully activating. The machine Fluttered to reveal a copy of the same room on the screen, within that room sat Starlight who smiled “Hello Sunset, I’m glad Discord managed to reach you before returning his dimension.”
Sunset blinked “Discord? Dimension? What happened here and why are you in a computer?
Starlight facehooved “First off, Discord is reformed and helping solve this issue but he is not powerful enough to fix it so I’m having him stay in his dimension so we don’t have him turned against us” she then sighed “The thing is is some strange ectoplasmic phenomenon has caused the sky to turn black, it has turned most ponies into ghosts me, Twilight and her friends were trying to find a way to fix this but each time we tried one more of us dissapeared until it was just me and Twilight, last time we went out about two weeks back Twilight got captured and I was mortally wounded, I infused my soul into the machine.”
Sunset blinked in shock as the realisation dawned on her “That’s your body!”
Starlight chuckled “My fifth actually, anyway I need you to go out there with my kit and round up as many ghosts as you can. Twilight inevitably got caught up in trying to figure out what was going on we didn’t try to capture the ghosts all that often except for study.”
Sunset frowned “Wait fifth body, explain?”
Starlight shrugged “Well we can recreate a body of a spirit by putting through this machine, I just haven’t yet because nopony else was here to operate it and no I am not letting Discord mess with this machine.”
Sunset blinked “Wait couldn’t you put ghost you computer through this machine and return them to the ponies they were?”
Starlight facehooved “Are you kidding me, how did the two of us overlook such an obvious solution, urghh we are so stupid.”
Sunset asked “Um so how am I to help?”
Starlight frowned “Take my Ectobox and go round up some ghosts.”
Sunset grinned as she inspected the machine and saw the design, it looked like a red vacuum cleaner with a green bulb in the back and a flash-light attached to the nozzle “I think a better name would be in order.”
Starlight frowned “True Twilight and I made Ectobox up on the fly.”
Sunset grinned “Ponygust 5000 sounds good.”
Starlight smiled “Agreed, I’ll show how it works.”
Starlight’s jaw dropped as Sunset pressed one button for the flash-light before another of the suction, Sunset smiled as she thought (Thank you Luigi’s Mansion.) Sunset said “Well I better catch some ghosts.”
Two giant metal hands came out holding a map, Starlight frowned “You may need this map, just not the layout of this place will change as you do anything major. Also your Ponygust 5000 can store as many normal ghost but you can only store one of certain special one which the Ponygust 5000 will send you back to this room, a safety precaution if you will.”
Sunset exited entering a large pitch black crystal hallway covered in spider webs, candles light up across every wall as an eerie laugh. Sunset grimaced “I will save Equestria.”
Starlight watches on from the cameras set up in the castle as she slumped over “I wish I could be out there but I am stuck in this machine. Sunset you are the last hope for all of us.”
