An extraterrestrial being crash lands in Equestria. The Mane 6, being the first to interact with the alien, try to greet him... or her(?) as a friend, but is completely silent, making it hard for them to make friends with the creature.
One night, the Mane 7 are star gazing up at the night sky, when suddenly a green, shooting star comes falling down and crashes into the Everfree Forest, out of curiosity the girls run to it to see what it is. They find out the shooting star was actually a pony, or at least a creature resembling a pony, but it was all black, it had no mouth or nose visible, and its eyes were bright green. Knowing that it came from space, the girls assume this creature is not from Equestria nor from anywhere on the planet. They decide to hang out with the creature and try to show it around Ponyville and Equestria, hoping to make friends with it. Why has this creature come to Equestria though? Was it sent here by its race? Does it have any super natural powers? Is it really a friend, or is it a foe?
NOTE: The story is a work in progress and so far, only one chapter is available, more will come soon.
It was late at night, Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends, Starlight Glimmer, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Applejack were laying down on the grass up a hill, gazing at the stars. Twilight was pointing out all the constellations and pointing out the different types of stars she sees in the sky. It was one of the very few times of the year where you can actually see all the stars at night. Rainbow Dash fell asleep while the rest of the girls were looking up, she didn't know what she was missing.
Twilight pointed up and said, "Do you girls see the Muffin and the Apple?"
At first the rest of the gang couldn't see it, but then Pinkie Pie shouted and pointed it out, "Oh! Oh! I see the Muffin! It's right there underneath that bright star!"
Applejack, being the farm girl she is, notices the constellation shaped like an apple, "And I see the Apple right there!"
Pinkie Pie then sees something nopony else notices and asks, "Hey Twilight, what's that green one up in the sky?"
Twilight then responds back, informing Pinkie, "Pinkie, there's no such thing as a green star, it's been scientifically proven."
Pinkie Pie, looking confused, points at it for Twilight to see, "But there's one right there..."
Twilight looks up to see a green, comet looking object, falling down to the planet. It was quite strange, she's never seen a space object that's green. Why is it green? Where did it come from?
Applejack freaks out a bit, "Is that thing there a meteor!?" She asked as she took cover behind a nearby bush and used her cowgirl hat to cover her head.
Twilight calms Applejack down and tells her, "Don't worry, it's a shooting star, it's too small to be an asteroid. I don't know why it's green though."
Applejack gets up, embarrassed. "Right... I uh... I knew that. It's not like I have some shelter underneath my barn in case of asteroid crashes and whatnot."
The girls watch as the shooting star crashes into the Everfree Forest, Twilight, being the one always enthusiastic for magic and science, says, "I've never seen a meteorite or a shooting star crash land nearby, come on girls, lets go see if we can find it!" The rest of the gang, except for Rainbow Dash (who was still asleep), follow Twilight.
Rainbow Dash wakes up and sees the girls run, she quickly gets up and shout to them, "Hey! Where are you guys going!? Wait for me!" Thankfully she was able to catch up, thanks to her speed.
Everyone stops as Twilight slows down and looks around, "Hmm... it should be around here somewhere, I know my way around the forest and I saw it crash land by a specific tree I sit by to read in privacy."
Rainbow Dash looks around, "There's a gazillion stupid trees! How do you know you're always sitting at the same one? Wait... what're we looking for exactly?"
Starlight explains to Rainbow Dash, "We're looking for a green meteorite that crashed here into the Everfree Forest."
Rarity was thinking for a moment and asks, "What if the meteorite is actually made of emeralds? That's why it was green, normally I don't like green, but emeralds are beautiful, and emeralds are just what I need to finish the dress I've been working on all week!"
Pinkie Pie interrupts , "What if it's actually a comet made of a special kind of ice!? I can make some great snow cones out of it!"
Twilight crushes Rarity and Pinkie Pie's fantasies, "Pinkie, Rarity, meteorites and space junk don't usually contain emeralds, and if it were a comet, part of Ponyville would've been destroyed by a shockwave. Anyways, lets get moving."
The Mane 7 venture out through the forest, stepping over rocks and mud and shoving leaves and branches aside to make a path. They continued to search for about two minutes until they noticed a small crater up ahead, there is still a bit of smoke coming out of it, indicating that whatever had crashed there hadn't been there that long. They found where the shooting star had landed.
"We found it! I can't wait to take it back to the castle and examine... it...?" At first Twilight was excited, but when she looked, her face went from being happy to a shocking expression. All the girls stood next to Twilight to see what she's looking at. There was a pony inside the crater, but it looked very strange compared to many ponies out there, its fur was all black, it didn't have a mane or a tail, and there was no mouth or nuzzle visible, leaving the girls to wonder how it can breathe.
Fluttershy was shaking in fear a little, "I-Is it a changeling? It must be one of the bad ones if it's not colored."
Twilight looked closely at it, "No, it has no holes in its legs, I don't think this is a changeling." Twilight slowly went down into the crater.
Rainbow Dash grabbed Twilight's hoof, "What're you doing!?"
Twilight shook off Rainbow's hoof, "We gotta make sure its alive!"
Twilight slowly reached one of her front hoofs out to the pony. Twilight was sweating, hesitating to wake up the pony, hoping it survived the crash. The girls were scared for Twilight, Fluttershy even looked away, whimpering.
Twilight touches the creatures fur, but its fur was burning hot, Twilight couldn't keep her hoof on it that long before jerking away. The creature's eye sockets slowly began to open, revealing two, large bright green eyes. It looked up, making Twilight jump out of the crater, it had two foggy circles in its eyes that resembled pupils. It slowly got up and stepped out of the crater and looked directly at them.
"....... Hello... are you okay?" Twilight tries to approach it.
The creature didn't respond, it just stood there and tilted its head. Leaving the girls to look at each other, they tried different ways to communicate with it.
Rainbow Dash got up close to it, "Hello!? Can you hear me!? I am talking to you!" All the creature did was blink. No reaction.
Rarity tried to give the creature a scarf, "Here darling, it's a little cold out here, you might want to wear this." But the scarf immediately caught on fire as it touched the black fur of the creature.
Twilight tries feeling the creature's fur again, but immediately jerks away as she lays her hoof on it. "Ow! He must be hot from falling down here! Are you okay?"
The creature didn't respond, it looks over the girls and sees a small pond of water, it walks past the girls and begins drinking the water, despite it not having a visible mouth. (SLUUUUUUUURRRRRP) When it was done drinking, the entire pond was dry, the ducks within the pond were shocked that they were sitting on dry land all of a sudden. The girls looked at it with shocking expressions, mouths open wide, pupils and irises become tiny as they saw the creature suck up more than 800 gallons of water, possibly more. Steam came out of the creature's ears, it lets out a moan of relief, again, "despite it not having a visible mouth."
Twilight went up to it and felt its fur again, it was now cold. "Amazing! It was burning hot from falling out of the sky and it cooled itself off by drinking a whole pond... which was even more amazing!"
Fluttershy looked worried, "Ohh... I hope those poor ducks can find a new home soon..."
Applejack looked a little worried, "Um... If he... or she...... uh... what gender are you?"
The creature, as usual, did not respond, all it did was stare at Applejack and blinked its eyes.
"Err... I'll just call you a "he" for now. Anyways, if he can drink a whole pond, I just hope he's not able to eat an entire apple farm." Applejack looked at the creature's belly, "He didn't even get big from all that there water!"
Twilight looked around and thinked for a moment, "Girls, if he came falling out of the sky, he must be from another world, so he most likely can't understand us. We should try to take him to Canterlot tomorrow and see if Celestia has a solution to getting aliens back home. Until then, I'm gonna let him sleep in the castle"
Rainbow Dash relaxed against a tree, "What makes you think Celestia can solve this?"
Twilight looks over to Rainbow, "If Celestia can control the sun and moon, she must know something about creatures from other worlds." She looks over to the creature, "Follow me, sir. I don't know if you can understand me, but I can get you to shelter." She puts her hoof around the creature's shoulder and guides him to her castle, the rest of the girls follow them back to Ponyville.
Later that night, in Twilight's castle, Twilight puts a pillow and a blanket on one of the couches in the library. The creature just stood there, watching as Twilight made a bed for him. Twilight felt a little uncomfortable as the creature just stood there, but she kept calm. Spike was observing the creature, curious about who he was, he walks over to Twilight, facing away from the creature and nudges her with his elbow.
Spike whispers to her so that the creature doesn't hear them talk, "Twilight, something about this pony freaks me out. If everything you said about him is true, about him falling out of the sky and all that, then we don't even know where he came from, we don't even know what species he is!"
Twilight whispers back to Spike, "I know, but as the Princess of Friendship, I have to try to make a good impression on him so I can make sure he's not dangerous, besides, we always thought changelings were bad, right? That was until you met Thorax and introduced him to Shining Armor, Cadence and the crystal guards. He doesn't seem hostile, so maybe everything will be okay."
Spike looks back at the creature, then turns back to Twilight, "Alright, but if he sucks out my brain while I sleep, that's your fault."
Twilight rolls her eyes and turns back to the creature, who was still staring, he had not moved an inch since Twilight prepared his sleeping area, "Well, so, I made a place for you to sleep, not sure if you use a blanket while you sleep but... yes, I made a sleeping area for you."
The creature of course did not respond, it stared for about five seconds before proceeding to slowly lay down on the couch and slowly closes its eyes. It stood perfectly still, not even a sound of breath, almost as if it had suddenly past away. Twilight slowly gets closer to listen for breathing, but there was no sound. Twilight tried shaking the creature to wake him up. The creature then opened its eyes.
Twilight took her hoof off of the creature's body, "S-Sorry... I was just... making sure you were okay."
The creature slowly closed its eyes again, back into the position it was as it fell asleep. Spike and Twilight slowly backed out of the room, making sure the creature didn't wake up. The two of them afterwards went to sleep as well in their own beds. Three hours later, Twilight wakes up to the sound of something breaking, Spike wakes up as well.
"What's going on!? Is somepony breaking in!?" Spike jerked up out of bed.
Twilight put her hoof over Spike's mouth and whisper yells to him, "Shhhhh! Be quiet! Stay here, I'll go check it out!" Twilight slowly opens bedroom door and slowly proceeds down the hallway, the door to the library was open. She checks the library to make sure the creature was still asleep... it was gone. Twilight freaks out for a moment and rushes through the hallways, looking for the creature, she then notices a light from behind the kitchen door. Twilight takes a peek in, it looked like the creature was putting a bunch of baking ingredients on the counter, milk, flour, sugar, eggs and butter. There was also some extra stuff on the counter like, whipped cream, syrup and strawberries. Twilight was curious to what the creature was doing, when suddenly it closes its eyes, the ingredients began to glow bright green as a bright flash is emitted from the counter, making Twilight look away. When Twilight looked back in, she saw three plates of pancakes, each plate had five pancakes, covered in syrup, topped with whipped cream with a side of strawberries. Twilight was amazed, this creature used some sort of magic and it doesn't even have a horn. She thought to herself, "What else is this being capable of!?" The creature suddenly turned towards the door, as if it knew he was being watched, Twilight backed away, hoping it didn't catch her.
A male voice came from inside the kitchen, "I know you're there, you can come in..."
Twilight slowly opens the door and looks at the creature, "You... You can talk?"
The voice came from the creature, but still, there was no mouth visible, "Yes..."
Twilight had a lot of questions for the creature, "Why didn't you talk before when we met back in the forest?"
The creature looked at Twilight, it tilted its head down, looking at floor, "I'm shy... I... I was afraid of meeting a new species..."
Twilight comforts the creature, "Hey it's okay, I understand, you're like my friend, Fluttershy, she barely talked when I first met her, but eventually we became friends. What's your name?"
The creature looked back up at Twilight, "My name is Zeon, I am what many would call, an "alien," but I'm actually a criux." (cry-ux)
Twilight looked at the pancakes Zeon had made, "How did you make these? I saw you make these without the need of a mixer or a stove. Also how're you able to speak, eat and drink without a mouth?"
Zeon looked at the pancakes, "Telekinesis powers, its what every criux has, we use it for flying and using what you would call, "magic." As for the speaking, the sounds I make comes out through my ears, sound goes in, sound goes out. As for the eating and drinking, my species are like living sponges, we consume by absorbing solids and liquids into our bodies. Here, watch this." Zeon takes a pancake from one of the plates and splats it on his face, where it is then absorbed into the area where his mouth would be if he had one. He takes another pancake and places it on his back, it phases into his body.
Twilight, all amazed, looked around Zeon's body, there were no crumbs or drops of syrup on the floor or on Zeon's body, he completely absorbed both pancakes without leaving a trace. "That's... cool! Can you taste it though?"
Zeon, who was patting his stomach, looked back at Twilight, "Huh? Oh! Yeah, I can still taste it no matter where it's absorbed, my fur is basically my taste buds, except there's no saliva, so thankfully I don't get stuck to metal that easily during the winter."
Twilight looked at the pancakes and wondered about something, she takes a fork and tries eating one of the pancakes, "Sweet Celestia! This is really good! Did you come from a gourmet planet or something!?"
Zeon was happy Twilight liked it, "I wish, I'm glad you like it though, there aren't that many good restaurants on my home world so we learn to make the best meals for ourselves."
Twilight looked at the time, "Well, it's still two-o'clock in the morning, I should get back to bed." Twilight turns around and begins walking to the kitchen door.
Zeon looked confused, "Bed? But I made pancakes for you and... Oh! That's right... you guys have a longer rotation..."
Twilight looked back, "Rotation?"
Zeon explains to Twilight, "My planet makes a complete rotation every twelve hours, day lasts for six hours, night lasts for six hours. Your planet makes a complete rotation every twenty four hours. Our sleep times our different too, it takes three hours for me to fully sleep, while it takes you six hours."
Twilight raises an eyebrow, "Does your species drink coffee by any chance?"
Zeon looked confused, "What? I don't know what that is."
Twilight explains, "It's what we drink to give us energy, it's usually for those who either have to wake up early or work late at night... Speaking of drinking, there's one last question before I go back to sleep. How're you able to drink an entire pond of water?"
Zeon looked happy, "I thought you'd never ask! Usually when your species eats, it takes around an hour for your body to digest your food, right? Well, my species can digest things in mere seconds! And your probably wondering where it all goes after its digested, right? Usually, you'd go use the bathroom, right? Well, at the end of my digestive track, there is actually a small dimensional portal that removes all waste from our bodies, because of that, we have no bathrooms at all on my homeworld."
Twilight interupts, "That's... interesting... I guess. Wait, so there's a portal inside of you?"
Zeon, looked at himself, "Yeah, it's kinda weird... we don't know where these portals inside of us go to but some say it goes into an empty dimension, a black void... Our anatomy is weird..."
Twilight just stood there in silence, "Okaaaaay... I'm just gonna go to bed now. Are you still gonna be awake when I wake up?"
Zeon thought about it for a moment, "Um... I guess I could try sleeping another three hours, I enjoy relaxing anyways."
Zeon went back to sleep after the conversation he had with Twilight. He dreamed of himself back on his home planet, it's a beautiful world filled with purple plants and grass, glowing aquamarine water and flowers that bloomed with light, bright as a light bulb. He then hears rustling through the bushes. Luna, the Princess of the Night comes out and sees Zeon.
Zeon approached her and greeted her, "H-Hi there..."
Princess Luna looked towards him, shocked at his appearance, "My apologies if I offend you for saying this, but you are quite strange looking for a pony..."
Zeon explains to her, "Oh, I'm not a pony... I actually came from the stars..."
Luna looked confused, "The stars? Explain yourself..."
Zeon does so, "Well first off, my name is Zeon, and I am a criux. I came to this world to see something new, I've lived on my home planet my whole life and I always wanted to visit another."
Luna nods, "I see. I am Princess Luna, and every night, I visit everyponies' dreams to make sure they're having a good night sleep. Now that you're here, I am able to visit yours as well."
Zeon was amazed, "Wow, this world has so many wonders... and so many amazing things... are you like some kind of goddess?"
Luna laughs, "Now, now... please, me and my sister may be powerful, but we're not goddesses. We were just gifted with abilities such as these."
Zeon was amazed, but then he squinted his eyes while looking at Luna, "Say, your face looks familiar..." It took a second for Zeon to realize it, but the face of Luna looked similar to an evil force that was banished to the Moon by Celestia a thousand years ago. Zeon gasped, "The Queen of the Night..."
Luna looked down in depression, "Please... don't call me that."
Zeon tilted his head, "But... that was you back then... you were all black and dark purple... you wanted to make night on this planet last forever. I'm staring into the face of evil right now. Was that not you? I thought for sure that was-"
Luna interrupted and shouted back at him with an echoed voice, "Silence, child! Yes! It was me! But that's not who I am anymore! I've already caused enough damage and left so many scars during that time, my guilt nearly destroyed this world as well, so I don't need anymore reminders of my past! Wait a second... how do you know about all of that?"
Zeon explains to Luna, "Well... you remember how I said that I always wanted to 'visit another' world? Well, for many years, I have studied many different stars and planets with a technologically advance telescope, however this planet amazed me the most so I've studied it since the day you became her... I may not look like it, but I am actually over 1000 years old... embarrassing as it sounds... I've... kind of lost track of my age..."
Luna laughs, "Well, I'll be honest with you, Zeon, me and my sister have lost track of our ages too, I think I'm... I'm actually not sure... but it's good to meet somepon- I mean some... creature who's lived a long time, just as we have."
Zeon observes her appearance, to him, she's such a beautiful dark blue mare, with a beautiful dark blue mane, wearing a beautiful necklace, crown and shoes. Zeon blushes dark green and looks away for a moment.
Luna tries to get his attention, "H-Hello? Zeon? Are you okay?"
Zeon quickly looks back at her, "What!? Oh, yes... sorry... it's just... I get nervous around beautiful women." Zeon quickly covers his ears after saying that.
Luna goes silent for a moment, blushing, "I... uh... well... t-thank you... the last stallion to ever tell me that was over 1000 years ago... before I became... yeah..."
The two of them go silent for a few moments, until Zeon speaks up again, "How do you like my home planet by the way? Well... it's not my home planet but, it's a scenario taken from my home planet placed here into my dreams."
Luna looks around, admiring the scenery, "It's quite beautiful actually, almost like my own dreams."
Zeon nods, "Thank you. My kind actually takes good care of our planet, we try to keep it as beautiful as possible. Say, how long will you be staying anyways?"
Luna shakes her head, "Not long I'm afraid... there are many ponies I still have to watch over. Where are you right now anyways?"
Zeon tells Luna, "I am currently occupied in Princess Twilight's castle, she's letting me stay here for the night, by tomorrow, I set out to explore this world with her and her friends."
Luna smiles, "Perhaps you should visit Canterlot, that's where me and my sister lives."
Zeon stays silent for a moment, "You can't tell, but I am actually smiling right now. I'll do that. Is there a place I can meet you?"
Luna sighs, "Unfortunately, I'm afraid it won't be that simple... my sister and the Royal Guard are strict on ponies visiting either of us... however, there's a fountain nearby the entrance of the castle, stand near there and I'll be there to see you."
Zeon tilts his head, "You actually want to meet me in the real world?"
Luna smirks, "But of course, you're quite a nice creature to be around... I must get going, I'll see tomorrow."
Zeon waves at her, "Bye Luna."
Luna disappears into a portal that she created with her magic and ventures off into another dream. Zeon looks down at his reflection in a nearby pond and wonders how the ponies will think of him as he explores the world. Everything begins to light up as Zeon wakes up into the real world.
