A sudden surprise came forth into Thunderwing's life. Life goes on with him and the pony he finally got to see again after a few years, after the Storm King's attack on Canterlot.

Surprised Reunion

It had been a very long time since the new resident to Ponyville had arrived from Canterlot. Thunderwing is his name. He is a Pegasus pony who had moved to Ponyville soon after Storm King’s attack on Canterlot. He was a personal friend with Princess Luna but they grew apart after the years of being busy with their own affairs with Thunderwing’s work as an elite Wonderbolt and the Princess’… Well, being a Princess who has the duty to help ponies have good dreams, raising and setting the moon to start a new day. Thunderwing is a white Pegasus with a long, pure black mane and tail with piercing blue eyes. His cutiemark was a pair of wings with a gust of wind that’s seemingly flowing past them.

One night, Thunderwing had decided to go for a late night flight to relieve himself from a bit of stress he accumulated after a few weeks of intense training and formation practice. Soarin and Spitfire had impleminted it to the training program for all high level fliers, even the reseve and high ranked rookies. He gazed over the calm meadows and fields of grass, spotting a flower every now and then as he flew over the fields. He flew far and long, flying over Canterlot, waving at a few guards that looked up at him from the ground and he was friendily greeted back with smiles and waves of hooves in return. He took a few deep breaths to relieve himself further from the stress, continuing to fly over the countryside, even flying over Sweet Apple Acres, peering down at the barn and farmhouse in the distance before heading down to a small open patch that was surrounded by trees, seemed to be the perfect place to go for a picnic with a mare, if the day should come. There was also a large pond that glistened in the evening light. Thunderwing landed almost silently as his hooves made contact to the soft grass and took a stroll to the nearby pond, feeling his wings ached slightly for flying such a long distance. He sat back onto is haunches as he peered over the water covered area with a content, soft smile as he admired the beauty of the scenery around him. He quietly studied a falling leaf, his ears slightly perked in attention as he saw the leaf making contact with the water, sending tiny ripples outwards to the edges.

After a brief time near the pond and in the cool evening breeze, he stood up before extending his wings and launch up off of the ground to return home. He flew over Canterlot again on his way back to Ponyville, all being quiet exept for the wind rustling through his feathers as he glided. As he approached his house which was a little futher away from Ponyville itself, he suddenly crashed into an unidentified being that was wearing a brown cloak. As the two ponies fall to the ground, Thunderwing recovered as quickly as he was dazed, seeing the other cloaked pony fall and wrapped his forehooves around them, gently returning himself and the unidentified pony to the ground a few yards away from his house. He gazed at the unconcious cloaked pony for a little while before taking off the cowl of the cloak. His eyes widened at who he saw had crashed into him and sent them both plumiting to the earth. It was Princess Luna that had accidentally crashed into him. The cape that she wore was too big for her, which meant that she couldn’t see properly from underneath the cowl over her head. She was completely knocked out and Thunderwing decided to take her inside into his house so she can rest. He placed her gently on one of the spare room’s beds and gently laid her head down on the softest pillow he had before leaving the room, silently closing the door. He went to the kitchen to prepare a cup of coffee and some extra water for when the Princess woke up later the night if she is to wake up during that night at all.

A few hours had passed since the accident, Thunderwing feeling a gentle bump on his head where he made contact with his unconcious royal guest, waiting for her to wake. Meanwhile the Princess is already awake but she stays on the bed due to a massive headache she suddenly woke up with. “Urgh” she groans faintly as she gently rubs a hoof over the sore area on her head. The door slowly swinged open and she is immediately on guard to cast a beam at a potential enemy. Her eyes widened as she saw the white figure of a pony enter the room with a serving tray in his mouth with a bowl of carrot soup and a warm cup of coffee. Thunderwing placed the tray on the bedside table and looked at Luna with a soft smile as she looked at him in utter awe.

“H-Hey Lulu, it’s been quite some time since we last saw eachother.” He said nervously, but managing to keep his composure. Luna suddenly just lashed out at him, wrapping her forehooves tightly around him, giving him a hug.

“I haven’t seen you in years!” Luna exclaimed as she clinged tightly to her long lost friend, smiling like a young filly whom’st’ve’d received candy from a parent. Thunderwing gently wrapped a hoof around Luna, smiling softly as he did so.

“Indeed it has.” He said as he gave her a soft smile.

“I missed you so much. How have you been? How’s work? How’s life here in Ponyville? What have you been up to recently?” Luna asked as she let go, lying on her belly whilst on the bed.

“Calm down, one question at a time.” Thunderwing chuckled “I brought you something to eat and drink.” He said, pointing a hoof at the tray. Luna took a breath, “Okay. How have you been?” She asked as she levitated the cup with her magic, bringing it to her lips to take a sip.

“I’ve been well.” He smiled. “And you?”

“You don’t even want to know.” Luna offered with a roll of her eyes as she took a sip of the coffee. “And work? How’s that treating you?” She asked with a raised brow.

“Work’s good, just stressful at times to keep my wings in proper shape for when one of the ‘bolts are off duty. They implimented a new training and formation program that everyone has to learn and train for which is hard work.” He said with a nod.

Luna gave a nod, hearing what her friend told her. “And life here in Ponyville?” She asked as she sat up onto her haunches, staring down at the white Pegasus in front of her.

“I really can’t complain about the life here. Everypony is so nice and always there to lend a helping hoof when asked. Not to mention friendly as well.” Thunderwing smiled.

“That’s good to hear Thunder. The ponies must be all over you since you must certainly be the most talented flyer they have in the Wonderbolts team.” Luna said with a soft grin.

“I seriously don’t believe anything you just said. I might be agile. But I’m not the best.” He protested with a low wave of his hoof. Luna let out a soft sigh.

“Stubborn as always, you haven’t changed a bit.” She chuckled and ruffled his mane before lifting herself up off of the bed, standing in front of him.

Thunderwing just let out a soft wheeze of irritation, his wings twitching slightly as he readjusts his mane with a single swipe of his hoof before turning away from his friend. “You want to join me in the living room?” Thunderwing said, motioning his hoof towards the open door.

“Sure, just let me grab these real quick.” She uses her magic to lift the tray from it’s previous surface, carrying it with her as she made her way out of the door with a gentle stride, thin smile on her face. They both go sit down near the fire for a bit of warmth, Luna gently rubbing the sore bump on her head when she flew into the Wonderbolt.

“So” Thunderwing said, looking over at Luna.

“Yes?” She replied, raising her brows as she looks at him.

“Where were you going at this time? I know you have to wander at night and help ponies with their dreams, but why were you wearing a cloak?” He frowned.

Luna gave a soft sigh, gently dropping her head. “I just want to go on vacation for a while. I snuck out of the castle to get away for a while, even if it’s only for a few days.” She said with her ears splayed back a bit, her head hanging low.

“But you”ll still raise and lower the moon, right?” He asked, his brow furrowing a bit.

Luna raised her head, her ears perked up in attention. “Of course! I-I just want a break away from the castle, to live as a normal pony instead of being so high and mighty. To be t-treated just like everypony else.” She sighed again, her ears splayed back yet again. Thunderwing scooted closer a bit, gently resting his hoof on her shoulder.

“Okay. If that is what you want, then feel free to live with me but you must disguise yourself as a regular pony then. You can shapeshift with your ‘infinate’ amount of magic, right?” He raises a brow, biting his tongue gently.

“Yes, of course I can do that. I have studied multiple types of magic and shape shifting magic was one of the many types that I had learned.” She said confidently.

“So you can literally pass as a changeling now.” He chuckled. She gently hit his shoulder with a hoof, giggling

“I could and maybe go live with Kuno and Warden in that giant mansion as a changeling but they might get suspicious of me since I don’t have something to identify myself with. Besides, I don’t know much of changelings though.” She said as she bit her lip in thought before sticking out her tongue playfully at Thunderwing, gently nudging him with her shoulder.

“We should probibly go to bed.” Thunderwing said as he got up.

“You can sleep in the spare bedroom. I gave you the comfiest pillow that I own.” He said with a smile as he trotted off to his room, closing the door and immediately hopping into bed.

Luna stayed up for a bit later so that she can lower the moon for her sister’s daylight to take over before going to bed herself, getting nice and snug. She passes out almost instantly as her head hit the pillow, forgetting about the slight headache that she has from the accident that occurred earlier and blissfully falling asleep with a gentle smile on her face.

Start of a new life

As Thunderwing slowly woke up, opening his eyes and let out a hardy yawn as he swept the sleep for his eyes before trying to lift himself up off of the bed. He is unable to do so when he felt something pressed againt him. He looked back and his eyes widened as he saw a dark blue figure stretched out over the bed, a hoof which was laying under his one wing. He peered at Luna, sleeping soundly next to where he had woken up. He then slowly slipped from underneath her hoof. She squirmed slightly, letting out a soft groan as she rolled over.

Thunderwing couldn’t help but smile at how cute she is when she’s asleep before turning away and silently making his way out of the bedroom, closing the door behind him to give the sleeping alicorn peace. He went about his usual routine but instead of making breakfast for one, he made for two before he heard his bedroom door creak open.

Luna slowly made her way to the living room and sat down on the sofa, yawning slightly as she had only woken up moments ago. Thunderwing being too nervous to break the silence, kept his mouth shut to avoid starting an awkward coversation. “I’m just going to keep quiet for a while.” He thought to himself as he continued to prepare breakfast for him and his guest.

“Morning” Luna said softly as she looked at him, her head resting sleepily on the armrest of the soft couch and giving him a sleepy smile.

“Damnit!” Thunderwing thought to himself, biting his tongue in anxiety, too scared to say anything to make the coversation awkward.

“You going to talk to me or not?” Luna frowned as she peered at him from the couch. Thunderwing gave a firm nod “S-sorry, just a little tense.” He said with a nervous smile.

Luna let out a soft sigh before getting up and walking slowly to Thunderwing, still a bit sleepy. “It’s because I got into your bed with you, isn’t it?” She frowned slightly.

Thunderwing stayed quiet, biting his tongue as he was unsure to what to say to the alicorn in front of him. “W-Well, yes. I’m not used to having anyone in my bed with me, e-especially royalty since I live alone here,” He said nervously, slowly dragging his front hoof over the floor as he looked down at it. Luna nodded firmly

“I see. I could go if that will be a bother since I don’t like sleeping alone. I usually have plushies with me.” She said as she turned to the door and started to walk towards it.

“Wait, no. Don’t go.” Thunderwing said with his hoof extended at his friend, his brow furrowed as he stood still by the counter. Luna looked back at him. “Why not? I’m clearly making you feel uncomfortable.” She said as she turned around.

Thunderwing shivered slightly as he got more and more nervous with each passing second “U-Uhmm…” He sat down on his haunches tapping his one hoof on the floor before taking a deep breath and exhaling. “Well.. I-I k-kinda enjoyed w-watching you sleep when I saw you next to me. You looked so peaceful, I couldn’t help but stare for a bit.” He sighed at his words, heart beating in his throat from anxiety, looking down at his hooves and expecing to be scolded and called a pervert. Luna stood still and silent for a while, her cheeks a bit red from Thunderwing’s statement before walked to him and gave him a firm hug.

“You know, staring at royalty in such a way is punishable by death.” She smiled

Thunderwing shot out of her grasp, his eyes wide. “N-No please! Don’t do it, please” He whimpered out. Luna let out a snicker before bursting out I laughter.

“I’m just joking around with you, Thunder.” She smiled and gently nudged his shoulder with her hoof. Thundering’s eyes narrowed the moment he heard that, his wings flicking a bit at annoyance before a smile crept across his face before laughing slightly.

“Well, you got me there” He chuckled.

“So, what’s for breakfast?” Luna asked as she walked past him and hopped onto the chair in the dining room where there is a medium sized table with a candleabra in the middle. Thunderwing was quick to serve Luna her breakfast, which was a bowl of vegetable stew with a side of tea for her to drink. He sat down on the other side of the table across her with the same set up but with coffee instead of tea in his cup. “Do you have any plans for today?” Luna asked after a bite of the stew and sip of her tea.

“Well, other than staying home and spoiling royalty. Nothing much.” He let out a soft chuckle before taking a bite.

Luna let out a soft giggle as she lifted the cup of tea to her lips to take a sip and lowers it to the table, smiling. “And what ideas might you have for the royal pony?” She asked with an innocent gaze.

“It’s a surprise but they’re not allowed to come along, they will have to stay home and wait for me to go to them.” Thundwerwing said with a thin smile before getting up to set his cup and bowl into the sink. Luna got up right after, her cup and bowl levitated beside her before doing the same as Thunderwing.

“Aren’t they going to realize that you’re not in the castle?” Thunderwing asked. Luna simply looked at him, a little puzzled at his question.

“What do you mean? I’m a Princess, I may go as I please and be gone as long as I want and besides, I left a note to my sister telling her that I won’t be back for a while but I will still tend to my royal duties to raise and lower the moon for each day, they just won’t know where I am and that’s all.”

Thunderwing frowned at that. “But they’ll get suspicious of why you’re gone for so long, will they not?”

Luna pondered in thought. “They might but they won’t take it very seriously at all. Celestia will just try to find out where I am and and she will find out but I did tell her about you, so she knows you pretty well.”

Thunderwing nodded in response “I see.” He smiled. Luna nodded before going to the living room to lie down on the couch. Thunderwing followed soon after. He suddenly trips over a slight fold in the carpet. He falls forward, closing his eyes. After falling, he kept his eyes closed, still waiting for the impact but instead feels something warm against him. He opened his eyes slightly and they shot wide open when he saw what just happened. Luna was against him, still lying on the couch and something else had happened as well. As he fell against her, he accidentally kissed her in the process of falling. Luna’s eyes were wide in surprise, blushing profusely as she looked at him. Both were completely silent for a long seconds, trying to process what had just happened.

Sudden change

Thunderwing jumped back, looking away and blushing madly “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean for it to happen. I didn’t see that point was folded over.” He trailed off. Luna still silent from the sudden accidental surprise of intimacy that had happened only a few moments ago, her cheeks stull covered in a dark shade of blush as she looked at him. Thunderwing dropped his head down, feeling shameful of himself of what had happened.

“I’m sorry” he said with a sigh. Luna was still silent, not knowing how to respond, as if her mind was still processing it all. Thunderwing looked to the side, his eyes closed and ears splayed back.

“You can slap me if you want to or you can leave and go to someone else.” He sighed and suddenly felt something wrapped around his neck that dragged him forward. As he looked up to say something, he was stopped completely when the alicorn’s lips gently made contact with his.

His eyes were wide when he felt the soft textures of the Princess’ lips against his.

Luna’s eyes were closed, her hoof still around his neck, kissing him intently. Thunderwing pulled away, his whole face was burning from blush and his eyes were as wide as a new born filly that examined everything around them as he looked at the dark blue Princess in front of him. luna opened her eyes and peered at him.

“Why?” Thunderwing asked.

Luna shrugged “why not?” Thunderwing’s brows furrowed slightly at what she said.

“But why did you do that? I-I don’t understand” he trailed off and Luna got up off of the couch. She hugged him firmly as he spoke.

“Thunder” Luna said softly, her hooves wrapped around him. Thunderwing went silent for a good while.

“Y-yes?” He said nervously.

Luna pulled away and looked at him before letting out a sigh. “I’m going to be straight with you” she said with a slightly nervous, anxious voice-tone. “I-I was looking for you all this time. My sister told me to try and find you because…”

Thunderwing raised a brow “because?” he asked.

Luna bit her bottom lip from her anxiety “Because I always had feelings for you. Since the Storm King’s attack on Canterlot” she sighed. “Celestia saw how much I liked you but you weren’t in Canterlot anymore and everypony we asked didn’t know where you were, so I went out every now and then to try and find you. She doesn't fully know that I have feelings for you. Love between royalty and peasant ponies isn't allowed.” Thunderwing’s eyes widened at her response, completely speechless.

“I’m sorry Thunder.” Luna sighed softly and let him go. She went to the room that Thunderwing gave her to lay down for a bit for a quick morning nap. Thunderwing soon followed, going to his room to read a book to try and cope with everything that had just happened. It was a good two hours since the confession that Luna made. Thunderwing was completely passed out with the book on his face, open on the page that he was busy reading. Luna opened his door slightly to see if he was awake. She walked closer and lifted the book up off of his face. His eyes were closed as he was in deep slumber. Luna closed the book and set it down on the bedside table before making her way out of the room. Thunderwing woke up as she was walking out. “Need something?” he asked.

Luna looked back at him and nodded. “I’d like to talk about what happened earlier.” Thunderwing nodded, sitting upright on the bed, his hindlegs dangling off of the side with his forehooves between his legs for balance.

“have a seat” he offered.

Luna took his offer, hopping onto the bed and sat down on her haunches beside him. “I’m sorry for kissing you” she sighed, looking down slightly “I just had the thought that you’d feel the same and I just had the urge to find out. But I guess I was wrong… so wrong.” She said in a low tone, her ears splaying back.

Thunderwing gently placed a hoof on her shoulder “Lulu, as much as I wanted to kiss back, I just couldn’t.” Luna just looked at his hoof before looking at him.

“So you have somepony else? I should’ve known.” She sighed.

“No, I don’t have anypony. I just don’t feel the same way towards you but if you’re willing to give it time. Then who knows? We might end up being together” he said with a soft smile, gently tapping Luna’s shoulder with his hoof.

Luna gave a soft smile at his offer and gesture he had made. “Thank you Thunder” she said, giving him a hug. They both sat in silence for a while in eachother’s embrace before letting go of each other.

“Anything you’d like to do today?” Thunderwing asked, looking at his friend sitting in front of him.

Luna shrugged slightly, shaking her head. “I honestly don’t know what I want to do today. I could go back to the castle and give my sister the news that I had found you, so then she’ll know exactly where I am” she smiled.

Thunderwing nodded. “That might be a good idea to do so, I don’t want the royal guard showing up here and get thrown in the dungeon for kidnapping a Princess” he chuckled.

Luna nudged him with her hoof, giggling, “you know that won’t happen at all, not on my watch” she said with a warm smile. “But you would still have to go to the castle to tell your sister that you had found me and that you’d be staying with me for a while though.”

“I suppose we could do that” Luna said as she thought about it, tapping her chin with her hoof. “Would you maybe like to come with me today to tell Celestia?” Luna offered, smiling.

Thunderwing raised a brow “couldn’t we maybe to it tomorrow? I still have royalty to surprise” he said, playfully sticking his tongue out at his alicorn friend. “Oh yeah, I forgot all about it!” Luna said, her head perked up at her realization. Thunderwing chuckled at her comment before hopping off of the bed and looking back at Luna. “I’ll be out for a bit. I’ll be back in about an hour to three, depending on what I can find” he shrugged. “Are you going to buy a castle with that time?!” Luna giggled. “I give you one hour and there is going to be hell to pay if you’re not on time.” She said jokingly, waving her hoof at him.

Thunderwing shook his head before heading out. “Feel free to help yourself to anything you want in the house but just remember to disguise yourself so that ponies can’t recognise you.”

Luna nodded. “Will do Thunder.”

“Alright then. See you in a while.” He said as he left. Grabbing his saddlebag in his mouth and slinging it over his back before heading out. Luna sees him off and hears him close the door before she hops off of the bed and walking into the living room. As she walked, she was engulfed in a dark shade of blue smoke, the same colour as her coat. As the smoke vanished, the form that was Princess Luna wasn’t standing there anymore. Instead, there was a white coloured Pegasus pony with light rose coloured eyes, a light purple mane and tail. The newly transformed Luna goes out the front door and walking around the house as if she’s planning something.

An hour ad passed an Luna is sitting on a chair which was on the porch. A purple mare walked past her, an alicorn with books being levitated beside her. Her cutie mark was a star with small sparkles around it. “Hello Princess” Luna greeted with a smile, acting like a casual townspony with a smile.

“Hmm?” the mare sounded, looking at the white coloured Pegasus. “Oh, hey there” Twilight greeted. “You seem to be new here, I’m Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of friendship” she said with a smile, trotting closer to the unidentified Pegasus mare.

“I know who you are, Princess. There is a lot of talk about you throughout Equestria.” Luna said with a smile.

“I wouldn’t expect less of it in that way. And whom may you be?” Twilight asked.

“My name is Dusk Beauty” The disguised version of Luna said with a thin smile. “I’m honoured to meet you, Princess” she added.

“Please, call me Twilight.” The purple Alicorn said and setting her books down on one of the steps that lead to the porch. “Whereabout do you come from?” Twilight asked as she sat down on her haunches in front of the white Pegasus.

Dusk Beauty (Luna) stood up “Have a seat, Twilight. You look tired” she offered with a point of her hoof.

“That’s so generous of you, thank you.” Twilight smiled as she walked to the chair and sat down on it. Dusk pushed the chair on the other side of the porch closer and took a seat, looking at Twilight.

“So, back to the question you asked me. I came here from a very small village that the ponies had set up in Yakyakistan after you and your friends befriended they Yaks.”

“Ohhhh!” Twilight squeed softly in interest, tapping her forehooves together. “And how’s that working out for everypony there?” She asked, grinning of excitement.

“It’s going very well. The yaks are very kind in their own way once you get used to their behaviour and sure, some of them disliked our pony culture and ended up destroying a lot of out belongings but they also learned that none of us, nor them are the same. They eventually accepted our way of living and they accepted us for who we are and even added a few things to their culture to help us feel welcome.” Dusk smiled warmly

“Oh, you have no idea what me and my friends went through with the yaks. There was almost a declaration of war between the yaks and ponies but we managed to stop that from happening and now there is harmony between the yaks and ponies. They destroyed a lot of our things when they were’nt satisfied with the things we provided for them to make them feel at home but it’s all sorted out now.” Twilight smiled

Dusk giggled at that “I know all about it, but to be honest. The yaks are such softies when you get to know them. They can be extremely caring when you befriend them.” She nodded. “Would you like something to drink?” Dusk added as she got up out of the chair.

“That would be lovely, thank you Dusk.” Twilight smiled and stood up from the chair aswell. Luna went into the house, going to the kitchen.

“Tea or coffee?” she asked, turning her head to face the Princess of friendship.

“Tea please” Twilight asked in a polite voicetone. Luna nodded, turning her head to her front. She started preparing ht tea that Twilight had asked for. After a few minutes there were two cups of tea ready for the mares. Twilight used her magic to levitate the cup, taking a slight sip.

“It’s delicious, thanks Dusk.” She said with a smile.

“My pleasure, Pri… Twilight.” Dusk said with a giggle, wrapping her hoof around her cup and makes her way out to the porch as Twilight followed. Both mares took in their seats and placing their cups down. “I saw you were carrying books with you.” Dusk said, looking at the three books that were placed on the step of the porch.

“Oh, those.” Twilight said, levitating the books with her magic, bringing them closer. “They’re just some basic magic books that I’m taking back to my castle’s library.” She said as she set them down next to the chair she was sitting on.

“Interesting. But you’re an alicorn. It doesn’t seem that you need to learn anything more about magic, you have all the magic you need, don’t you?” Dusk asked as she looked at the purple Princess. Twilight looked at Luna’s disguised self for a brief moment before clearing her throat.

“I do but studying different types of magic is still useful, given the right situation.” Twilight protested slightly, mellowly waving her hoof.

“I see.” Dusk nodded, lifting her cup to take a sip and set it back down again, looking at the books. “Would you mind if I borrowed the books for a while? I do enjoy studying magic, although I can’t cast magical spells officially like unicorns or alicorns can.” She said as she stroked where a unicorn’s horn should usually be, making the excuse to actually study more magic.

Twilight looked at the mare sitting across from her, slightly puzzled. “Uhhh.. Sure, just be sure to drop it off at my castle when you had finished reading them.”

Dush nodded at Twilight’s reply. “Thank you Twilight.” She smiled as she looked up at the alicorn. A long time had passed since Dusk’s (Luna) request to borrow the books. The two mares exchanging interesting conversations between each other, giggling every now and then before they both saw the Wonderbolt, Thunderwing land a few yards away from the porch. “Took you long enough!” Luna’s disguised self, said to him with a playful wave of her hoof, with a jokingly angry voicetone before giggling.

Twilight giggled as well. Thunderwing’s eyes widened as he saw Twilight in the seat and bowed. “Princess.” He said.

“No need for such formality, Thunderwing.” Twilight said with a smile. “I was actually just walking by to my castle to put my books away that I had with me and Dusk greeted me and offered to host me for a while. I must admit, she is quite charming and she seems to be a really good friend to you.” She said, looking from him to Luna’s disguised Pegasus form.

Thunderwing looked up at the alicorn and the white mare that is Luna. “She is a very good friend, we bumped into each other a few days ago, so I she’s staying here with me for a while.” He said with a smile, standing upright.

He walked towards Dusk and set his saddlebag down and opened it. “As I promised.” He said with a smile as he took out a necklace. Dusk gasped as she saw the beautiful crystal necklace that Thunderwing took out.

“Wow, it looks amazing!” she said.

“I did make a promise to spoil somepony today.” He said as he hooked it around around her neck, the gems making it glisten in the fading light on her white coat.

“Thank you Thunder.” Dusk said with a smile and hugged him.

“It looks like Rarity’s work.” Twilight said, examining the accessory around Dusk’s neck.

“Indeed it is.” Thunderwing replied, turning to face the Princess.

“She’s the pony to ask for a ‘fabulous’ item.” Thunderwing said, trying to imitate Rarity’s voice and accent when he said ‘fabulous’. Both the mares giggled at his attempt of imitation.

“So, Luna. What do you think of….” Thunderwing’s eyes widened as he heard what he had said, covering his mouth with a hoof.

Dusk’s eyes widened as well and both the stallion and disguised mare look at the alicorn. “I beg your pardon, but could you repeat what you said?” Twilight asked as she looked at the Pegasus stallion. Dusk sighed,

“Well, guess it’s no use in trying to keep the secret anymore.” She said before she was engulfed in dark blue smoke once again.

Royal Surprise

As the large puff of smoke fades away, exposing another alicorn where the previous Pegasus stood. Twilight’s eyes widened as she saw Luna sit in the chair in front of her. “P-Princess!” twilight said with a nervous voice. “Pardon me, I-I didn’t know it was you” she said softly, her ears splayed back. Luna giggled softly at how nervous the Princess of friendship is.

“Calm down Twilight, no need for such formalty when speaking to me.” She smiled “I do have to make a favour to ask of you to do for me” Luna said as she looked at Twilight. “Could you perhaps not tell anypony about my visit here at Thunderwing? I’m going to go to the castle tomorrow to tell my sister that I’ll be here for quite some time but I’ll still tend to my royal duties to Equestria.”

Twilight nodded “of course Princess, nopony will know that you’re here.” She smiled. Luna and Thunderwing both nodded before Thunderwing went inside.

“Thank you for being so trustworthy, Twilight. It is much appreciated.” Lina said with a slight tap of her hoof on the wooden floor.

“It’s my pleasure, Princess.” Twilight smiled. “I have to beg my leave, I have a lot of work to do in the library and then make a few other arrangements to help Fizzlepop Berrytwist (Tempest) to get settled down in Ponyville. She seems to enjoy it here more than the luxury of Canterlot.” Twilight said as she tapped her chin with a hoof in thought. Luna nodded,

“Alright, hope everything works out.” She smiled.

Twilight only gave a soft smile before she took off, trotting home. Luna looked at Twilight for a while, hoping that the Princess will keep the secret before heading inside and close the door. As she looked around, she saw Thunderwing on the couch with a cup of coffee next to him and a newspaper in his hooves.

Luna walked closer, looking over Thunderwing’s shoulder and spotted a certain article that said there are many more changeling hives with queens like Chrysalis who wants to take over everything for love and power over all that lives in the land. Luna shook her head seeing that.

“After Chrysalis was killed, we suddenly find more changeling hives outside Equestria? It seems that all the changeling queens are also linked to eachother and now that Chrysalis is no more, they surely thought of it as a threat to their race, it seems.” She said as she walked around the couch and sat down on it, leaning back against the soft cussion, stretching her wings before yawning softly.

“So it seems. But I personally don’t think they will be much of a bother since Chrysalis gave herself the cahllenge of taking on the ponies, failed in taking over Equestria and died in the process of revenge on Kuno and Warden. So they will most likely think before attempting to take us on again.” Thunderwing said as he looked up at Luna from the newspaper befeor he started reading gain, reading through prestigious articles of the royal guard and Wonderbolts to see how everything is going.

A few hours had passed, the light starting to fade, a few candles gently illuminating the living room, Luna sitting outside where nopony can see her as she helps raising the moon for the night to take over. She then went inside after the ordeal was done, slouching down on the couch.

“Thunder” she said tiredly.

“Yes Luna?” Thunderwing asked, looking up at her, raising his brows.

“Can you go make me some coffee, please?” Luna asked tiredly, giving him a faint smile. Thunderwing simply chuckled at Luna’s attempt of charm and got up, setting the newspaper down and makes his way to the kitchen. “Thank you.” Luna said, looking over at him before laying her head down on the armrest of the cofortable couch.

Thunderwing brought Luna the coffee that he had prepared for her. She takes it with a soft smile and takes a small sip. “Thanks Thunder.” She said softly before yawning again.

“No problem Lulu.” He said with a warm grin, trotting over to the couch he was sitting on previously. Thunderwing stretched slightly after he had sat down on.

“Comfy?” Luna asked with a tired giggle as she took another sip of her warm tea, licking the rest of the brewed liquid from her lips. Thunderwing nodded, looking at the alicorn splayed out on the couch in front of him.

“Very” he smiled. “And I could honestly go for a hot bath now.” He said as he got up again, making his way to the bathroom that was down the hallway to the master bedroom.

“That sounds wonderful right now.” Luna said as she got up to prepare something for the two ponies to eat for the night. Thunderwing started running a bath with warm water that’s just perfect before pouring soap into the water for a bubble bath. He took his time getting into the water, laying down on his back and soaking. He let out a soft sigh of enjoyment as he relaxed, the waterlevel just coming up to right underneath his chin. There was a soft knock on the door after a few minutes. “Yes?” he answered.

“I’m making dinner, what would you like to eat tonight?” Luna asked from the other side of the enclosed bathroom.

“I could go for some stew for tonight, if that won’t be too much trouble to prepare.” He replied to the alicorn outside the door.

“Sure thing Thunder.” Luna said before trotting down the hallway to the kitchen. Thunderwing didn’t own a very big house but it was big enough to be used as a two-hoof guesthouse if there were any effort to turn it into a guesthouse. Thunderwing kept soaking in the delightfully warm water, getting rid of the stress that had built up in him the past few days.

Luna was in the kitchen, preparing hay stew for the night’s dinner. She was humming a melody to herself as she put everything together into the stew being cooked on the stove. She gently stirred the mixture with a spoon that was placed into the pot.
She decides to take a little break while waiting for the mixture to set and cook thuroughly.

Thunderwing came out a few minutes after Luna took a break. “Enjoy yourself?” Luna asked as she loked over to him.

“Mhm” Thunderwng nodded in response, trotting over to his friend’s side. “You can go take a bath if you want to, I’ll make sure the food doesn’t burn or anything. You can take your time thoug, I’ll make sure everything stays warm.” He said as he turned his head to look at the mare next to him.

“Isuppose I could take a bath, I felt like really relaxing for a while now but couldn’t get to it today since I saw Twilight and got caught up in a conversation.” She said softly, rolling her eyes and dismisses it all with a wave of her hoof before turning and walk to the bathroom. She suddenly stops and looks back at the stallion in the kitchen. “By the way, hanks for letting me stay here with you for the time being, Thunder, I really appreciate it.” She said before continuing down the hallway.

"No problem Luna. It's the least I could do for you after not seeing you for such a long time." The stallion called out in reply.

As Luna went into the batheroom, there was a neatly folded towel placed on the floor for her to use. She started running a warm tub and immediately got in while the water poured into the big, round bathtub. She layed back, soaking her coat in the nice water and let out a sigh of enjoyment, resting her hooves on the side of the bath tub. She rested in it for quite some time, closing her eyes and slightly doses off only to be awoken by a knock on the door.

“Mmm!” Luna replied to the disturbeance and Thunderwing opened the door.

“You’re surely taking your sweet time with taking a bath.” He chuckled softly, not looking directly at Luna who still had her eyes closed whilst still in the bathtub. “If you’re not going to be quick, I’m literally going to jump into the bath.” He said with a smug smile, tapping his hoof on the floor.

Luna opened an eye slightly, looking at the stallion that was in the bathroom with her but he wasn’t looking at her. “Don’t you dare. I will zap you to sleep.” She groaned out in annoyance, still looking at him through a half lidded eye. Thunderwing let out a snicker as he decided to look at Luna as he slowly walked closer.

Luna’s horn lit up slightly as she looked at him fully with botheyes. “Don’t you dare do it, I’m serious Thunder. I will zap you.” She said with a rough voicetone, her horn lighting up further, glowing brighter and brighter as her friend got closer and closer.

Thunder brushed her threat aside and took another step before launching himself into the air towards the bath full of water. Luna let out a gasp as she was suddenly splashed with water, shutting her eyes to prevent water from getting into her eyes.

When she opened them, Thunderwing was sitting on his haunches in front of her, laughing, as his mane was soaked and drooping over half of his face. Luna let out a low growl, narrowing her eyes in anger.

Suddenly a bolt came flying from her horn, hitting the stallion right in the face and he jerked as he was struck. The magic quickly disappeared and her horn stopped glowing in the process as she looked at her friend. Thunderwing had a small puff of steam coming off of his forehead before shaking his head, blinking rapidly.

He looked at Luna, his brows furrowed. “You’re so mean! You didn’t even put me to sleep, you just shocked me.” He said as he rubbed his forehead and frowned. Luna simply giggled as she looked at the white Pegasus in front of her.

“Well, I did warn you that I was going to zap you. I just changed my mind and literally zapped you.” She snickered, placing a hoof over her lips, trying to keep in a laugh.

“HA HA HA.” Thundewing let out annoyed as he stared blankly at the alicorn and flipping his back to get his mane out of his face. Luna got out of the bath. “You’re mean.” Thunderwing mumbled as he looked away.

“You should’ve known that I was going to zap you. I did warn you more than once.” She said as she looked back at him before using her magic to wrap the towel around herself. “I’m a mare of my word, Thunder. You out of all ponies should know that by now.” She giggled.

Thunderwing simply got out of the bath with a groan, wrapping his damp towel around himself. He twisted his long mane between his forehooves to get as much water out as he could. “But you always knew that I was playful and liked making jokes. You out of all ponies should know that by now.” He argued with a chuckle as he looked at the alicorn.

“You have a point.” Luna said as she tapped her chin with a hoof. Thunderwing simplpy nodded his head as he prooved his point.

“Anyway, the food is ready on the stove.” He said as he flipped his mane back and took the towel off. He hung his towel up before walking out. Luna followed after him shortly. Both of the ponies sat down in the chairs outside on the porch after Luna transformed into the white Pegasus named Dusk.

They both enjoyed the view in brief silence. “Have you ever thought of having a family?” Thunderwing asked as he stared at the setting sun.

Luna looked at him for a bit. "What do you mean?” She replied with a frown. Thunderwing looked at the alicorn before he sighed softly.

“I’m serious Thunder. What do you mean by theat?” Luna frowned. “I already have a family. I have my sister and she is my family. So yes, I already have one.” She said as she looked at her Pegasus friend.

Thunderwing sighed and dropped his head down. “You don’t understand what I mean Dusk.” He said as he gently shook his head slightly.

“Then tell me what you meant by it?!” Luna (Dusk) exclaimed at Thunderwing, her brows furrowed in annoyance and anger as she slightly had a hoof pointed out at him.

Thunderwing just sat in silence, his ears splayed back at Dusk’s sentence. He looked down down at his hooves which were between his hindlegs for balance on the chair.

Dusk retracted her hoof, starting to frown and her ears splayed back as she realized in what tone she just used to speak to her friend. “I-I’m sorry Thunder. I didn’t mean to use that tone with you.” She said with a sigh as she looked at the Pegasus stallion sitting across her. Thunderwing still sat in silence, looking down at his hooves.

Dusk slowly stood up from the chair and walked inside into the house. Thunderwing looked at his friend in silence as she went inside and reached out to her to grab her attention as she had walked past. He decided not to disturb her and give her sime space.

Dusk went into the room that her friend lended her and shut the door. She lied down on the bed, curling up as her body were yet agin consumed by blue smoke, turning back into the alicorn she rightfully is. She lied on the bed in silence, ponderwiong the thought of how she spoke to her friend as she did.

And hour or so had already passed. Thunderwing was sitting on the couch as he waited for Luna to meet with him again, but to no avail, she hadn’t come out. It had already been a few weeks since they met eachother again after so many years that had past after the trouble with the Storm King in Canterlot.

After another hour had passed, Thunderwing decided to check in on his Alicorn friend. He opened the door of her bedroom after knocking. As the door swung open, Luna was nowhere to be found with the window of the bedroom left open. Thndering sighed before he had spotted a piece of paper on the bed that had a quill resting on top of it.

He slowly walked up to the bed to inspect the small page. He didn’t want it look at it at first but after a few brief minutes, he mustered up the courage to read it. “Dear Thunder. I am so sorry for the way that I talked to you. It was not right of me to do so and I had felt so bad afterwards, I couln’t bring myself to face you and look you in the eyes about it. I couln’t bring myself to talk to you in person about it, so I had decided that I had to leave. I have to say that I’m sorry for leaving without saying goodbye and I’m sorry for talking to you the way that I did. I hope that everything goes well and I promise to attend every airshow that you participate in, but you won’t know where I am or whom I might be. Thank you so much for hosting me and letting me live here with you.”

Thunderwing wiped a few tears from his eyes as he finished reading the message that Luna had left him. He took the note into his mouth and left the room, heading to his own room.

He placed the note inside the drawer of his bedside table as a keepsake and most likely as a memory that he won’t see his friend again. Thunderwing went on with his everyday routine. He would wake up; brush his mane, coat and tail to get out the knots from the previous night’s sleep. He would then prepare a hot cup of coffee along with breakfast, which consisted mainly of cabbage, carrots and an apple or two.

He tossed the cabbage and carrots together into a pot of broth-like stew inside a big pot so that he could warm it up again and have the rest for dinner. After having breakfast, he didn’t have mugh time left, so he quickly got into his Wonderbolts fatigues and locked his house before leaving.

He was recently promoted to train the new Pegasi who joined and to train the rookies who were in the academy. He got home late every night but they started paying him more for his efforts, which he was happy with. He finally had a little bit more money that he could spend on his home for decorations.

Lonely Again

It had been almost a month since Luna had left, not to be seen again. Thunderwing woke up in his bed, holding a pillow close that was a unusual thing of him to do. He slowly opened his eyes with a sudden desire that hit him harder than Applejack bucking a tree for the apple harvest. He pushed the pillow away with a sigh as he got up out of bed. He headed out of his room to the kitchen for a cup of coffee and breakfast.

After breakfast, he got ready for the day, brushing a few spots of his coat that were standing up and getting his mane ready so that he doesn’t look like some crazed pony that escaped the mental asylum. After that, he went to sit on the porch for a while to enjoy the sun and to wake up completely.

As he opened his front door and walked out, he felt something underneath his hoof that didn’t have the usual wooden texture of the floor that the porch was made of. He looked down to his hoof, only to fins a piece of paper underneath it. He picked it up and started to read.

“Dear Thunderwing. I knew I said that you’d never know where I am but I cann’t just leave without a fight for what I care for. I want you to come see me later this evening at midnight in the old royal castle in the Everfree Forrest. I can’t have anypony spot me with anyone late at night otherwise rumours might spread. The laws stricly forbids love between a citizen and royalty. The love that Cadence and Shining Armour share was accepted under heavy consideration. To the point I was heading to. I will be waiting for you in the throne room. I have to see you. Love Luna”

Thunderwing went inside immediately to place the note in his bedside table. He then went out to attend to his regular routine of the day. He sat in a chair thich was placed on the porch for a while before heading in to get ready to head to the Wonderbolt Training Academy to attend to supervise the recruit’s training to make sure that nothing went wrong. He then went to practice his formations and to train his wings for specefic aireal stunts that was required of him to preform at the next show if one of the other ‘bolts weren’t able to make it.

As soon as he got home, it was already late night. He took a quick bath since the practicing and exercise had gotten him slightly sweaty. He got ready as fast as he could and had an hour to spare, so he had decided to make a cup of coffe before he took off on a flight to the old calstle ruins to which was nothing more than half an hour’s flight away to meet with his friend.

He took his time with his coffee as he had the time. He brushed his teeth before flying off so that he wouldn’t have a milky coffee breath. He tried to be as formal as possible for his friend since he will be meeting with official royalty and not with a friend, so it was just proper of him to do so.

After his attempts to improve his appearance, he set off on the journey into the Everfree Forrest where the castle ruins were. It took him less than a half an hour to arrive, which spared him a few minutes. He landed in the throne room as arranged and waited, looking around at the broken pillars and walls. Tapestries that hung from the walls were torn, dusty and mouldy from the years of neglectance after Princess Celestia had left after the fight against Nightmare Moon.

He walked around as he inspeced everything. The enviroment had a chilling feeling to it and so did he as he felt that something was watching him since he had arrived but he was unable to find out what it was that gave him the shudder and chills down his spine along with uncomfortablility. As he walked forth, he arrived at two thrones that belonged to the two Princesses while they stayed there.

The two thrones were both in bad shape but the one throne, which was Luna’s that she sat on back then hadn’t shown as much decay as the one next to it. The other throne was full of long cracks and chips. It seemed that it would be extremely uncomfortable if somepony were to sit in it now. He kept on examining the thrones where Princess Celestia had her battle against Nightmare Moon before she was forced to use the Elements of Harmony aginst her sister’s evil counterpart that had consumed Luna because of her jealousy she had for her sister, having the ponies being awake during the day whilst they shunned and slept during the night.

There was a soft draft that flowed over Thunderwing’s coat as he stood in front of the shrines, chills yet again flowing down his spine that made him shudder. The light made the inner walls of the castle have a soft, sinister glow to it that started having it’s toll on the young Wonderbolt. Something didn’t feel right. He felt as if something was watching him the moment he had arrived and the enviroment wasn’t helping him shake that feeling off at all. He spun around the moment he heard something close behind him. His eyes widened at what he saw. The infamous and once controled Nightmare Moon was standing tall behind him with a sly, evil smile that send chills down his spine yet again along with fear in his eyes. He couldn’t muster the strength to try and escape, completely frozen by fear as the evil counterpart Alicorn stood mere feet away from the fearstruck Pegasus.

“So kind of you to respond to my note that I had left you. All spruced up for the occasion too, I see. Absolutely delightful.” The Alicorn said. “You will never leave here.” She said in a mellow tone as if she’s afraid that someone might hear her. The moment she was finished talking, the floor underneath Thunderwing started shaking before collapsing completely. As Thunderwing fell down underneath the ground, the mare followed with flight before the trapfall doors slowly slammed shut behind her.

Thunderwing recovered and flapped his wings to land softly on the floor below, panting from adrenaline that was surging through his body as the evil Princess landed behind him. “If I can’t have you, then nobody can!” The terrifying alicorn exclaimed.

“So you turned into Nightmare Moon just because I didn’t feel the same?” thunderwing asked as he turned to face her, lifting a brow.
“Not just that. Luna hurt you unintentionally and I ceased the opportunity to take hold of her again. This time, there will be nobody that will help her come back again.” The Alicorn said before bursting out with a sinister laugh.

“Give her back. Please Nightmare Moon.” Thunderwing said with a frown as he gazed upon the Alicorn in front of him.

He was replied with a brief moment of silence before Nightmare Moon looked down at him. “Why? Only I am strong enough to stand for what she couldn’t achieve. She couldn’t have your love after she had confessed her emotions she had for you for so long. I will have what she could never get.” The fierce mare said to him.

“How could you ever expect me to love you? You sent a note on behalf of my best friend to meet them here and then you trap me in this place. I won’t be happy here. I won’t be happy with you forcing me into anything.” Thundewing said before he sighed in dispair, still frowning unapprovingly of the evil Alicorn standing in front of him.

Nightmare Moon stood there in silence as if she was pondering over the Pegasus’ question and statement. She dismisses it completely with a wave of her hoof before turning away. “It does not matter to me at all. I have gotten you here and that is enough for me.”

“So you’re just going to keep me prisoner here forever?” Thunderwing asked.

“That was plan B which is going to be put to action since you didn’t feel the same way that Luna felt for you.” The evil mare said as she turned back to face him. Thunderwing kep quier, his ears splayed back as he lied down and curled into a ball.

“I wish the real Luna was here.” He said to himself softly. Nightmare Moon walked to him and lied down close to him, gently resting her head on his neck, nuzzling him gently. “At least you have somepony more powerful that loves you. I might be evil but I still have some aspects of Luna’s personality that was carried over to me when I took over.” She said softly as she closed her eyes. Thunderwing whimpered softly as he heard that, wishing that it were his friend and not the one who threatened Equestria so many years ago.

Both of them lied there for a while, Nightmare Moon trying to share affetion, Thunderwing fearing for his life as a captive in the Princess’ evil counterpart’s grasp. Thunderwing managed to fall asleep as soon as he saw a single beam of sunlight seaping trhough one of the cracks to the floor underneath where he was being held by the Alicorn who stood up a bit ago to lower the moon so that there was no reason for Luna’s sister to have any sort of suspision that something had gone wrong. After that, she took up her posision against the white Pegasus who pretended to be asleep on the hard floor of the underground before she had slowly started to dose off herself.

Thunderwing woke up after a few hours, guessing that it was about noon that he had woken up, judging by the angle that the light was coming in from the crack. The Alicorn was still sound asleep with her head gently resting on his neck for a bit of warmth as she slept. “Wow… With all that power, she would throw away her comfortablility to make sure that I was warm, or that I wasn’t trying to escape.” He thought as he slowly shifted, placing a hoof underneath her head so that she wouldn’t wake up with a neck spasm when shewoke up.

Thunderwing knew that deep down that Luna had forced Nightmare Moon to sleep next to him so that he would have a bit of warmth since the underground area was extremely cold, where there is no access point for any sunlight or heat to enter except for the crack. He walked to the small-lit area and sat down, shivering slightly from the cold, trying to attain some sunlight and heat. He slowly shifted after the small-lightened area as the day went on before the mare woke up. She lifted her head, searching for the Pegasus, as he was moving up a bit so that the light would be in the center of his chest as she shivered slightly.

“Cold?” She asked as she wiped her eyes. Thunderwing jumped a bit at the sudden sound of her voice, looking at her with his ears immediately splayed back. He shivered again as he had left the small area of light. Nightmare Moon seemed troubled. “Are you going to try to escape when I let you out for a bit?” She asked as she sat back into her haunches as she examined his actions. Thunderwing slowly shook his head.

“N-No, I just want.. Some heat.. To warm up.” He said during shivers as he sat there, his wings slightly extended.

"Very well, don’t betray my trust and this will never happen again.” The mare said as she teleported them both above the ground from where Thunderwing had fallen.

The light and heat immediately made contact with his coat; he gave off a few violent shivers as he started to relax in the sun. He closed his eyes as he sat in the sun on his haunches, his eyes closed as he let out a soft hum of content as the warm, delightful rays of the midday sun reached his skin. Thunderwing slowly sunk down to lie in the warmer shade of light, resting his head on his forehooves. The evil mare simply looked at him as she waited, soflty tapping her hoof on the ground in impatience.

“You done yet?” She asked. Thunderwing gently shook his head in disapproval.

“Just a little longer?” He asked as he opened his eyes and turned his head to look at Nightmare Moon. The mare sighed at his reply.

“Fine.” She said before she stood up and joined him in the sun as she was starting to feel a bit cold aswell. “Delightful, isn’t it?” The Pegasus asked calmly as he gave the Alicorn a soft smile.

“I guess.” She said as she looked to the side a bit at his statement, having a battle againt Luna to keep control of the Princess’ body. Both of them closed their eyes for a brief time to let the warmth seap in. “I suppose that you are hungry.” Nightmare Moon said after a solid ten minutes of basking in the sun.

Thunderwing simply nodded after the Alicorn’s statement. She got up “follow me,” she said before turning and started walking to a doorway that was located in the gathering hall where the two sister’s thrones were.

Thunderwing followed the tall mare to where she was walking. They both ended up in the dining hallway. Everything was completely different from the gathering hall. Everything still seemed to be new, but old at the same time. It didn’t give off the same chilling feel that the other room had given off. The enviroment was a lot calmer than the last, tapestries hung from the walls, in way better condition that the Pegasus had seen from the previous hall.

He went to sit down in one of the chairs near the table. The cussion was a lot softer than he had expected, it felt brand new from what the stores were selling. The table was clean as he looked at it and saw his own reflection, his long mane covering one half of his face as he looked down. When he looked up, the alicorn was nowhere in sight, before she suddenly reappeared with two plates stocked with food were floating beside her. She sat down across the white Pegasus stallion before one of the plates were set down in front of him, the other plate gently resting down onto the table in front of her. Thunderwing started eating immediately as his stomach growled, trying to stop the slight hunger pain as soon as it had started.

The Alicron looked at him for a little bit before she started eating, herself. Thunderwing was finished within a few minutes after starting. “That was delicious, thank you, Nightmare.” He said with a soft smile as he continued to sit, waiting for her to finish. I really do appreciate you trying to take care of me. Trying to keep me warm and comfortable and feed me.” He said as he looked at the mare that sat across of him.

Nightmare Moon ignored him completely as she ate, staring down at her plate. She yet again fought to keep control, just able to keep her grasp as the good inside of her fought furiously against her evil restraints, which lie within, tied around her to keep her down.

Thunderwing got up and walked around, Nightmare Moon keeping a close eye on him as she examined his actions. The Pegasus stopped to gaze at a tapestry that hung gloriously from the hall between two pillars, examining at the multiple colours for a brief while before he continued on. He walked all the way around in the hall before he sat down in his chair again, looking up at the roof, it had a few cracks in it and a few chunks were missing as well.

Nightmare Moon got up from her chair after she had finished eating. “Come, time to go back.” She said firmly, her horn glowing faintly as she prepared to subdue the stallion if he tried to escape. The pony let out a sigh of despair as he turned to the doorway to return to the area where he was held captive, followed closely by the evil Alicorn behind him, ready for anything he could possibly use to get away.

The two doors opened once more to allow passage between them. Thnderwing jumped down, extending his wings to slowly glide down to the bottom where he had first fallen onto the hard, cold stone floor.

As he landed, the Alicorn landed behind him and the two doors shut again. “Why are you so cheerful?” She asked with a puzzled look on her face.

“Because I have hope that I will get out, it might not be today or in a week or anything, but I will get out.” He said as he turned to face the Princess’ evil counterpart, standing tall with courage to speak out like that at his own will.

The Alicorn simply laughed sinisterly at his statement and hope that he displayed, making the enviroment feel colder and darker than it already is. “And how do you plan to get out of here when I am keeping an eye on you at all times?” She asked with a raised brow with a smirk that gave the Pegasus slight chills.

Thunderwing regained his composure, staring the Alicorn Princess dead in the eyes. “Because I know deep down that Lulu is trying to break free. You couldn’t take her head on, so you took advantage of her weakest point to gain control of her. She will come back and I know it.” He said as bravely as he possibly could, standing as tall as he could at the same time as he gave the Alicorn the same smirk that was passed unto him from her.

Nightmare Moon gave off a soft growl at his gesture. “She will never return! She doesn’t have the power to stand up against me now, I am so much stronger than last time.” She offered, giving a smile that shoved her sharp teeth that seemed to be able to rip and tear through any flesh and would certainly be able to tear the meat from his bones if it were nessecary for her to use her canines if he tried to escape from his captivity from her.

Unexpected Appearance

View Online

The mare stood in front of him in silence for a while, taking the stallion’s silence as submission to her, giving her the confidence that he won’t do anything stupid for his own sake. The Pegasus sat down on his haunches as he had fallen silent after Nightmare Moon growled at him. Both sat in complete silence for the better part of an hour before Thunderwing lied down on the floor once again.

He was immediately greeted by the cold that penetrated through his flesh, almost like the same cold feeling that sent shivers down his spine when he had first arrived. The cold went down all the way from his neck, down his spinal cord and to the base of his tail that made him wince, reminding him of the danger that he was in if he wasn’t careful.

The mare hadn’t taken her sight off of him for a second, inspecting him curiously and cautiously, to subdue him at any time he were to try to escape in any way. Thnderwing turned his head away before closing his eyes to try and fall asleep. Hours had passed as he attempted to fall asleep, to no avail. Thunderwing merely pretended to be asleep for a few hours, shifting around, as he got uncomfortable in his previous positions, keeping his eyes closed to trick the evil mare to think that he’s still asleep.

“I know you’re not asleep.” Nightmare moon said in a low toned voice. Thunderwing ignored her, staying silent. “It’s futile, Thunderwing. I know when a pony is sleeping.” She said as she walked over to him slowly.

She placed a hoof on him, rolling him over and pressed her hoof down on his chest. Thunderwing immediately reacted, hitting her hoof away from off of his chest and jumped up. He lunged forward and drew a hoof across her face, making her stumble back with a loud groan, slightly dazed.

As her vision slowly gained focus again, Thunderwing was out of sight. Nightmare Moon looked around, her horn being taken over by a faint glow to light up the surrounding area a bit more, she was knocked down to the ground.

Thunderwing was silently hovering above her, far away enough so that she wouldn’t feel the wind, his wingbeats gave off before he dove down onto her, connecting a hindleg to the back of her head which sent her slamming to the ground, that made light dust from the old floor shoot up as she hit the hard surface.

She staggered slightly as she stood up, stumbling from side to side as she was dazed yet again after the Pegasus struck her a few seconds earlier, a slight dribble of blood coming out from within her nose. She growled in anger as she spun around, scanning the area in front of her to find him. She was suddenly struck again from the side by a strong blow to her ribs. She grunted loudly from the pain and impact that sent her staggering a few feet to the side.

Her eyes started glowing faintly and ascended into the air with one swift beat of her wings. She suddenly let out a loud yell that echoed though the cold, empty area as a pulse of energy was released from her form. Thunderwing was as about to attack again before he was forced back by the powerful gust of magic, sending him plowing into the far wall.

He was unconcious as his head had hit the wall along with his back, his wings splayed out as he hit the surface before he limply plummited to the ground. He was gently caught by the mare and set down. “Hmph!” She sounded as she looked down at him, wiping the trickle of blood from her nose as she walked back a bit and sat down on her haunches before she opassed out, feeling dizzy after being struck with Thunderwing’s hooves.

Nightmare Moon woke up a few hours later, letting out a faint groan as she rubbed her head with a hoof. “Ugh, he hits hard for a pony of his stature.” She said softly as she looks at him. Thunderwing was still out cold, lying completely still. The alicorn stood up and walked closer and let out a sigh of relief as she saw his chest heave out as he breathed, reassured that he’s not dead.

“Good, he’s still breathing.” She said with a soft smile before shaking her head furiously as to clear her thoughts before turning away and sat back down on her haunches.

She sat up straight as her horn started to glow, closing her eyes. Thunderwing shuffled slightly before lifting himself up with his forehooves, groaning softly, clenching on his teeth as he felt his head pounding from the sudden blood preassure rushing to his head from the motion he made.

He silently looked up to Nightmare Moon through squinted eyes. After a few long seconds, the mare turned her head back to him, finding him looking at her before giving him an evilish grin. “Morning Thunder.” She said.

The stallion stayed quiet, not saying a single word, not even an iota of a word to the darkened mare sitting a bit away from him. “It’s rude not to reply when spoken to.” She said as she turned to him, giving him a straight-faced stare.

“I don’t have to answer to a bitch.” He said with a low growl. The mare lunged forward, throwing him onto his back, resting a hoof firmly on his chest to keep him down. She leaned her head down to the side of his head.

“What did you just call me?” She asked him in a threatening tone, kneading her hoof into his chest. Thunderwing let out a breathless grunt as the air is forced out of his lungs from the sudden praessure and slight pain. He gently tapped her hoof as he saw his vision starting to go dark from the outside, inwards.

Nightmare Moon eased off of his chest a bit before there was a sudden explosion. Dust consumed the two ponies as they both flinched and covered their eyes.

Attempted Rescue

As the dense dust covered area cleared out a bit, both Thunderwing and Nightmare Moon took their hooves away from in front of their eyes to see what had happened. They could make out a blurry form of a tall figure with seven smaller figures by the larger figure’s form.

The dust still had to set and deminish completely as a loud, empowered voice called out from the large blurry figure’s direction. “Nightmare Moon!” It called out.

The evil counterpart of Princess Luna took her hoof off of Thunderwing’s chest as she took up a tall, firm stance with her chest pushed out. “Well, well, well. Look who decided to show up to try and save a small, defenceless Pegasus.” Nightmare Moon said aloud, a grim smile creeping across her face. “How long has it been, Celestia?” She asked with a sinister laugh.

“It’s been far too early!” Celestia said boldly as she stepped forward out of the dust, acompanied by the seven members of the Royal Guard. Four of them had spears held in their hooves and the other three were carrying swords in their mouthes. “Stop this madness.” The white alicorn ordered, her horn glowing faintly to light up the area with a spell ready to cast at any sudden hostile action as well.

“First I have a question for you.” Nightmare Moon said boldly, her horn glowing faintly as well. Thunderwing stayed on the ground, shuffling away slowly, staying low to the flat surface.

“What do you need to ask?” Princess Celestia replied, her eyes narrowed, her brow furrowed in anger.

“How ever did you find out that I’m back and that me and the Pegasus were here?” The dark Alicorn asked, her head held high with a wry smile. She stood firm in her position, Thunderwing lying near the other side of the room’s wall.

“My sister came to me in a dream last night. She told me that you had returned and that you kidnapped Thunderwing, keeping him hostage.” The Princess said in a low, angered tone in her voice, lowering the stance in her forehooves, getting ready to cast an offensive spell against Nightmare Moon or a defensive spell to guard against the dark alicorn’s attack, if she were to attack first.

“It’s futile to try and save him!” Nightmare Moon exclaimed as she leapt into the air with a single beat of her wings. Her horn started glowing bright before a sudden blue beam shot from the tip of her horn to strike the white Alicorn.

The Guards were quick to react, one of them jumping in between the blue ray and Celestia, taking the hit for the Princess before being shot down directly onto the hard surface at the Alicorn’s front hooves. The rest of the Pegasi guards sprung into action, at the ready to strike Nightmare Moon with their arsenal they had at hoof.

Nightmare Moon simply let out a huff, before she extended her hindlegs and forehooves, her wings included. A shield of some sort that had a small tint of black mist surrounded her as she released some of her magic to protect herself. The ponies were caught off guard and hit the shield, hard.

All of them fell down to the ground as Nightmare Moon’s shield also had a spell mixed in it to put them to sleep. Celestia’s horn glowed as she saw the guards that had acompanied her fall to the floor. She gently set them down on the ground out of harm’s way as she is now going to fully confront her sister’s evil counterpart.

“Nightmare Moon.” Celestia said with a firm voice. “Stand down now and return Luna to us. This is your final warning.” The white Alicorn said as her eyes narrowed, staring at the evil mare that slowly descended to the ground underneath. Celestia’s horn lit up yet again to prepare her magic.

As Celestia shot a beam of magic towards the dark Alicorn, Nightmare Moon did the same. The two powerful beams of magic clashed against eachother, causing a massive explosion that sent both of the Alicorns staggering backwards. “Princess Celestia!” Thunderwing called out as he ran over to the celestial goddess.

“Stay back, Thunderwing. I don’t want you in danger.” The Princess ordered as she regained her composure from the impact that she took from the magical explosion.

“I’m completely fine, Princess. I have been here long enough to know that Princess Luna plans to regain control. There were points where Nightmare Moon lost a bit of her evilness.” The Pegasus said calmly.

“She let me out to bask in the sun for some warmth, she fed me. She even huddled close to me when I slept to make sure that I’m not cold.” Thunderwing stated as he shot a glance back at Nightmare Moon, seeing here stare at Celestia with anger in her squinted eyes.

“Luna is fighting with us against Nigtmare Moon. She’s fighting desperately and she’s so close to regaining control.” Thunderwing said.

“We just need to find a way to help Luna. She’s the only one who can truly defeat Nightmare Moon.” Thunderwing stated as he tapped his chin with a hoof.

At that moment, both the Pegasus and Alicorn heard a beam being shot off. Celestia was caught completely off guard and was hit, Thunderwing flinced hard at the sudden surprise. Celestia groaned faintly as she squirmed to get back onto her hooves.

“Awww, looks like the almighty Celestia has been struck. Pitiful. I thought you were faster and stronger than this.” Nightmare Moon said as she gave off an evil chuckle before powering another bolt of magic. Thunderwing was completely frozen with adrenalin and shock, trying to process what had just happened.

A few long seconds later, another shot was heard as yet another beam of magic blasted though the atmosphere towards the already injured Celestia. Everything went silent.

A white figure rolled back as it was struck. Thunderwing jumped in between the magic bolt and white Princess, taking the hit full onto his side, sending him flying across the icy cold floor. Princess Celestia saw Thunderwing being shot across the floor, which made her gasp as she was filled with pure dread and disappointment she felt as she was unable to save a pony from danger.

Nightmare Moon was completely still, a little bit of mist came off of her horn that the magic beam had caused. Her eyes were wide, as if she was caught by surprise at the Pegasus’ actions that caused him to get hurt. Everything was completely silent; nothing could be heard except for the occasional sound of dudt and rubble hitting the ground from the hole Celestia had made earlier. The guards were still out cold.

Both Celestia and Nightmare Moon stared at the white Pegasus as he lied in the small patch of sunlight that coursed through the hole, small pebbles hitting him and dust covering his body as they fell from cracks.
