Fluttershy has a nightmare that Discord hated her.
Fluttershy thought the dream was real, so she gives Discord the silent treatment the next day. Discord feels so bad that he gives Fluttershy the silent treatment, too. Fluttershy and Discord are now officially ex-best friends.
It isn't until Discord rescues Fluttershy that Fluttershy realizes that Discord is still her best friend and that dreams aren't real.
It is nighttime in Ponyville. The moon is out and the stars are shining bright. Fluttershy is running through the Everfree Forest, panting heavily. She is in a panic as somepony has been chasing her for a while now. She looks back and is extremely terrified, fearing for her safety and, most importantly, her life. She keeps running until she finally stops at a dead end deep in the woods. She turns around to see an evil-looking Discord approaching her slowly with a sly grin and a crazed look in his eyes.
"Discord! What are you doing?! Discord! Discord, you're scaring me!", says Fluttershy.
"Hey, missy! I do not like you!", Discord said in an extremely mean tone. Fluttershy is devastated that Discord dare say such a thing to her. She could have sworn he had liked her this whole time, ever since that day when she first showed him kindness and the true meaning of friendship. After all those times they spent together with each other, such as having Tuesday tea parties with him or just simply hanging out with him in general, how could he of all people say such bad, horrible, mean things to her? Not to mention right straight at her face and before her very eyes without any kind of hesitation at all?
"What? How could you say that? You're my best friend!", Fluttershy exclaimed.
"No, I am not! I fibbed!" Discord grins evilly in sadistic glee that he is now telling off Fluttershy and hurting her feelings. Fluttershy is severely crushed by these words, having always thought of Discord as her true and loyal best friend, albeit his mischievous nature and love of chaos.
"Oh, Discord! Please! You like me! We're friends!", Fluttershy tells him, insisting that Discord does not hate her. It was undoubtedly the worst possible thing Fluttershy had ever heard in her entire life, especially from the very draconequus that she had befriended years ago. Just then, Discord begins to grow larger and larger, frightening Fluttershy and all the while grinning widely with malice.
"Fluttercry," he sadistically called her, "I never, ever liked you! Never! It was all just a big trick!". Fluttershy becomes shocked, completely saddened, devastated, and horrified. "What?!" Tears start welling up inside of her eyes as flashes of her friendship with him and all of those times with each other flash before her very eyes, remembering Discord from the day they had first met (when Discord was technically not exactly their friend yet at the time) to when she and her best friends turned him to stone to punish him for his chaotic ruin to Equestria, to releasing him from his stone imprisonment less than a couple years later, to trying to get him to behave himself after he had revealed that he heard Celestia talking about making him behave through stone as being frozen in the state did not make him lack hearing or seeing, to trying to get her best friends to trust him and listen to him and to give him a chance, to introducing him to the true meaning of friendship and love, to having their usual activities of having tea parties, playing, and talking, to pretty much everything about him. She had always fun with him, following his realization of being a much better person. So according to what Discord is saying now, all of those times have really meant nothing at all in the very end? She guesses that since he is saying this to her now, he probably never really was affected by friendship and love in general after all as she had previously thought. Were her best friends right about Discord being an unchangeable jerk monster who would rather relish in mischief, chaos, and destruction rather than accept her as his only, first, real best friend?
"I do not like playing with you or even coming to your house! It is boring! You are just a pathetic, stupid crybaby of a pony!", Discord insulted her. Fluttershy is immensely hurt by Discord's words and could not believe he had just called her a crybaby of a pony.
Discord continues his rant at Fluttershy, "Why would a chaotic being like me even bother to want to be best friends with a pony?!" Fluttershy begins to cry as Discord taunts her in a sing-song voice, "I do not like you! I do not like you! I DO NOT LIKE YOU!!!" Fluttershy is literally in a puddle of tears by now with tear-stained eyes as Discord is shouting at her.
Suddenly, Fluttershy is startled awake. "No!" Fluttershy begins to calm down as she looks around her room. Thankfully, the whole thing had turned out to be just a silly nightmare. Angel comes hopping into the room.
"Angel! Oh, my goodness. That was so scary," she said, letting out a sigh. Fluttershy is relieved that Angel is by her side to comfort her during a time like this. "But at least it was all just a dream."
Relieved, Fluttershy lays back down on her bed. She is so glad the entire ordeal is over and done with. Now she knows that Discord would never be rude or mean to her in any way, shape, or form as she is his very best friend, no matter what anypony in the entire universe says, whether it be her best friends, her parents, her brother, or anypony in general at all. However, she soon opens her eyes and begins to wonder if Discord being her best friend is actually a fact.
"But... what if part of it was true?", Fluttershy asks herself out loud, beginning to have her doubts. "What if Discord really doesn't like me like I thought he did?"
Horrified and believing Discord not liking her to be true after all, Fluttershy begins to cry as Angel hops up onto the bed to comfort Fluttershy. As she continues to cry, she wraps her hooves around Angel into a big hug as Angel calmly pats Fluttershy on her hooves.
The sun begins to rise in Ponyville. Fluttershy, who is with Pinkie Pie, is feeding Angel.
"Angel's just so cute, isn't he?", said Pinkie.
"Yeah. He sure is. I even taught him some new tricks," said Fluttershy.
"Really?", asked Pinkie, amazed.
"Mm-hmm. You can watch."
"Okay!"
"Angel, fetch!" Fluttershy throws a carrot and Angel runs after it and brings it back to Fluttershy.
"Cool!", said Pinkie.
"Angel, sit!", Fluttershy commanded and Angel sits down. "Roll over!", she commands and Angel rolls over. "Play dead!", she commands and Angel plays dead.
"Wow! So cool! He can act like a dog!", said Pinkie.
"Indeed."
Meanwhile, Applejack is setting up a ladder on her farm when Discord arrives.
"Hey, what is the ladder for, Applejack?", he asks her.
"Oh, I thought I'd paint around the windows here, just to fix it up a notch," said Applejack.
"May I help you? I can paint quite fantastically!", Discord offered.
"Well, I don't know."
"Come on!", Discord insisted.
"Well, I'll need to give this some thought."
"Come on! Give me a chance!"
Finally, Applejack said, "Well, all right. I don't see why not."
"Thank you," said Discord.
"You're welcome. But, uh, just not the windows. It's dangerous to climb this ladder. So only around the farm only. I'll handle the windows personally. Okay?"
"Okay! Deal!", agreed Discord.
"All right," said Applejack. Suddenly, Pinkie Pie jumps out of nowhere.
"Hey!", Pinkie shouts as Applejack and Discord become startled. "Whoa!", they both exclaim in unison.
"I heard you guys are gonna be painting? Mind if I help, too?", said Pinkie.
"Sure," said Discord.
"Oh, okay. But like I told Discord, not the windows. Those, I'll do," Applejack informed Pinkie.
"Okey dokey!" And with that, Pinkie Pie immediately zooms off.
"Well, that was, um... random," said Discord.
"Tell me about it," Applejack agrees.
Pinkie zooms up to Fluttershy and says, "Fluttershy! Applejack just said she was gonna let me paint the barn for her!"
"Really? Oh. Well, that's good," came Fluttershy's response.
"Come on! I'll show ya!", said Pinkie and she grabs Fluttershy and zooms off with her to Sweet Apple Acres.
"See, all this is what Applejack told me to paint. Except the windows 'cause it means climbing the ladder, which is dangerous," Pinkie instructs.
"I see," said Fluttershy.
"So I was just thinking, maybe we could do some painting!", said Pinkie. Before Fluttershy can answer, she notices Discord cheering to himself.
"Whoo-hoo! Oh, this is going to be great!", said Discord.
Immediately, Fluttershy says, "No."
Pinkie asks, "How come?" and Fluttershy says, "I just don't want to."
"Fluttershy, is something bothering you?", Pinkie asks her. It is quite unusual to see Fluttershy in an unenthusiastic mood.
"If Discord's going to paint, I don't want to," stated Fluttershy.
"Oh. Well, what do you wanna do?", asks Pinkie.
"Um..." Fluttershy gets an idea. "How about we wash the pig?"
"Great idea!", said Pinkie and she and Fluttershy walk over to the pig.
"This might be fun!", said Fluttershy, to which Pinkie responds, "Trust me, it will be!"
Just then, Discord approaches Fluttershy and Pinkie.
"Can I help, too?", he asks. Immediately, Fluttershy becomes angry once she hears Discord's voice and lets out a stern, "No!" Pinkie and Discord are shocked by this and they say in unison, "No?!". "Mm-mmm," said Fluttershy.
Discord is confused. He asks, "But why?" Fluttershy responds, "I just don't want you to."
"But what did I do?", asks Discord. Fluttershy says, "I can't tell you because I won't be talking to you."
"Fluttershy? What is the matter?", Discord asks Fluttershy, who turns away from Discord. "Come on, Fluttershy! Tell me what is wrong!"
"Discord, I think Fluttershy already made it clear that she's not talking to you," said Pinkie.
"Exactly! I won't ever talk to him, play with him, or have Tuesday teas with him ever again! And I don't like him anymore! Hmph!"
Both Pinkie and Discord gasp in shock. Discord is immensely hurt by this and walks off, feeling completely hurt and lonely. Pinkie sadly watches him. "Oh, Discord..."
"Liar. He's all, "Oh, what did I do? What is the matter?" He knows what he did," said Fluttershy.
Discord walks into Applejack's house. Applejack is washing dishes when she notices Discord. "Discord? What's the matter?"
"I have just lost my best friend. Fluttershy told me she does not like me and will never talk to me or have..." Discord begins to tear up. "...Tuesday teas with me again!" Discord begins to cry into his arms. Applejack goes to comfort him.
"There, there, sugarcube. Did you do anything[sic] to make Fluttershy angry?", asks Applejack.
"I do not think so."
"You sure?"
"Uh-huh. Well, if she does not like me, so be it. I will not like her either!", Discord finalizes, crossing his arms, feeling angry and hurt.
"Oh, well, maybe this is all just misunderstood. Fluttershy's your best friend," Applejack tells him.
"Well, she was."
"I suggest you go ask Fluttershy again one last time, just to see if it works out," Applejack suggests.
"Well, okay. I shall try again," said Discord.
"Good," said Applejack. Discord leaves Applejack's house and begins to approach Fluttershy and Pinkie.
"Fluttershy? Tell me, why are you--", Discord began, only to be interrupted by Fluttershy talking to Pinkie over him.
"How long do you think washing this pig will take?"
"Beats me," said Pinkie.
"Fluttershy, I am begging you to tell me why you are mad at me," Discord insists. But Fluttershy sighs, turns her back towards him, and once again talks to Pinkie.
"Because I thought it'd take about 5 minutes."
Discord is becoming angry and says, "Okay. Very well. If you will not talk to me, I shall do the same!"
"Well, fine!", said Fluttershy.
"And if you do not want to play or have tea with me, neither do I! Hmph!"
"Fine! Hmph!", said Fluttershy as Discord walks back into Applejack's house and slams the door shut.
"Now I am really angry!", shouted Discord.
"About what?", asks Applejack.
"That Fluttershy!"
"What happened?"
"I attempted to talk to her and I now know she will never talk to me again!"
"Oh, gosh. This is serious. Let's go see Fluttershy."
"Fine!", said Discord. He and Applejack walk out of the house and approach Fluttershy.
"Fluttershy? Discord tells me that you two aren't gonna talk or anything[sic]."
"That's right. This is all his fault," said Fluttershy.
"But what did he do?", Applejack asks.
"Yes!", said Discord.
"He told me he doesn't like me," said Fluttershy.
"That is not true!", said Discord.
"You're the one who told me you never liked me and that you think it's boring to have tea with me and that you don't like me or coming to my house!"
"Fluttershy, don't ya think you've made him feel bad?", said Applejack.
"Doesn't matter because he's not my best friend."
"But I want to be!", said Discord.
"You can't because you don't like me."
"But that is not true!"
"You told me you didn't ever like me! I know you said it!"
"I never said that! It... was probably another Discord!"
"Oh, no. I know it was you," said Fluttershy sternly.
"None of that is true! However, if you would rather think that, then fine! We are not friends!" Feeling hurt, Discord flies off, crying.
"Ooh. Brutal," said Pinkie as she watches Discord flying off.
"Fluttershy! That was very harsh of you to say that to him!", Applejack scolded.
"He deserved it. He's no friend. He's a monster, a traitor, and a liar," said Fluttershy.
Applejack and Pinkie are shocked by Fluttershy's words. Fluttershy and Pinkie continue to wash the pig. Suddenly, Applejack gets an idea.
"I have an idea!", she said as she runs off to the Golden Oak Library, knocking on the door, to which Twilight opens.
"Oh. Hi, Applejack."
"Hi, Twilight. Listen, uh, I need to tell you this."
"Okay. What is it?", asks Twilight.
"For some reason, Fluttershy's mad at Discord and doesn't wanna talk to him."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Will you come and see what's the matter?"
"Of course. Come on, Spike."
"Comin'!", said Spike as he and Twilight follow Applejack back to Sweet Apple Acres.
Twilight, Applejack, and Spike arrive at Sweet Apple Acres. By now, Fluttershy and Pinkie are finished washing the pig.
"Hey. I see you two are done," Applejack points out.
Pinkie says, "Yep! We did a great job, didn't we?"
"Ya sure did," said Applejack.
"But not as good as when I did it that one time!", Spike added, proud of that achievement.
"Spike, stop it!", Twilight scolds him.
"Yeah, that was with Apple Bloom. And stop with your arrogance," Applejack reprimands Spike.
"Sorry," said Spike.
"So what's the trouble?", Twilight asks Applejack.
"Yeah," said Spike.
"Hi, Twilight! Hi, Spike!", exclaims Pinkie in a joyful manner while Fluttershy says in a deadpan tone, "Hello."
"Fluttershy, Applejack tells me that you and Discord aren't getting along today," says Twilight.
"You're right," says Fluttershy.
"Did he do anything to hurt you?", asks Spike and Fluttershy says, "Of course."
"So why aren't you guys getting along?", asks Twilight.
"Because he told me he doesn't like me," said Fluttershy.
"Are you sure this is true?", asks Twilight, raising her eyebrow in a confused manner, knowing that Fluttershy and Discord are normally best friends.
"I'm positive. Why don't you ask Angel? He should know," said Fluttershy.
"Oh. All right then," said Twilight. So her, Applejack, and Spike run to Fluttershy's house and approach Angel.
"Angel! There you are! Tell us, why does Fluttershy think Discord doesn't like her anymore?", Twilight asks Angel. He mimes Fluttershy being asleep.
"Fluttershy was asleep and what else?", asks Twilight. Angel mimes a roaring monster and a bout of crying and screaming and then standing straight up with his eyes wide open.
"Discord was chasing after Fluttershy, who started crying and screaming and then Fluttershy woke up?", Twilight guesses. Angel nods, confirming Twilight correct. "Ah. So that's why Fluttershy's mad at Discord. Fluttershy thought the dream was for real," concludes Twilight.
"Ohh! Now we get it!", said Applejack and Spike in unison.
"Well, we have to prove to Fluttershy that it was just a dream and nothin' happened!", said Spike.
"But how?", asks Twilight.
Applejack realizes something and says, "Hey! I remember Discord and Pinkie wanted to help me paint the farm! Maybe we could have them do that together!"
Twilight and Spike's faces brighten up. "Hey! Good idea! If we have Fluttershy and Discord do something fun together, Fluttershy will realize that it's not true Discord doesn't like her!", said Twilight.
"Hey, yeah! Let's do that!", Spike agrees, already liking this idea.
"Righto! Let's go!", said Twilight.
"Yee-haw!", cheers Applejack.
"Yeah, yee-haw!", Twilight agrees. She, Applejack, and Spike run off.
Later, Fluttershy is painting the farm alone. On the other side of the farm, Pinkie Pie and Discord are painting the farm together.
"Hee hee! This sure is fun, isn't it, Discord?", Pinkie Pie giggles.
"Oh, you have no idea," Discord agrees.
"Mm-hmm!", said Pinkie Pie.
Applejack arrives and notices Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Discord painting the farm and smiles gladly.
"Wow! Look at you guys! Looks like this is fun for all of you!", said Applejack.
"Oh, it sure is!", said Pinkie Pie.
"Yes. Thank you, Applejack," Discord said respectfully.
"No problem, folks. No problem," said Applejack as she walks over to Fluttershy.
"How are ya, Fluttershy?", Applejack asks her.
"Oh, good. Real good," said Fluttershy.
"Incredible. But, uh, the work would go faster if you all worked together," Applejack suggests.
"No thanks. I'd rather paint alone," said Fluttershy, still upset about Discord.
"Hmph! Me, too!", said Discord, who is still upset about Fluttershy.
Shrugging, Applejack says, "Suit yourself. Well, I'm gonna get more paint."
Applejack walks off to collect some more paint to finish the house. As soon as she is out of sight, Discord crosses his eyes and blows a raspberry at Fluttershy, who crosses her eyes and blows a raspberry back at Discord.
"I've never painted like this before in my life!", Pinkie Pie said ecstatically.
"Hmm!", Discord said, agreeing with Pinkie.
As long as they would be painting, Fluttershy was never going to speak to Discord ever again. Fluttershy looks at the ladder and the windows. She, of course, knows what Applejack had said about painting the windows, but she was already in a bad mood and she had wanted to help Applejack and simply get the whole thing over with. She becomes determined and begins to climb up the ladder. Pinkie Pie and Discord look up and notice this and are quite shocked.
"Hey! Fluttershy! What are you doing?!", said Pinkie Pie.
"I'm gonna try and paint the windows so I can help out!", Fluttershy replies as she climbs up the ladder.
"Stop! Applejack said we are not allowed to! Besides, you might fall and get hurt!", Discord warns Fluttershy. Even though he was still upset with her, Discord did not want Fluttershy to get hurt. But she simply ignores his words and replies, "Oh, what do you care?!"
Giving up, Discord shrugs and says, "All right. Go ahead. But do not say I did not warn you!"
"Whatever," Fluttershy said, brushing him off. Standing on the ladder, Fluttershy tries to paint one of the windows. However, she suddenly begins to lose her balance. She falls off the ladder, only to hang onto the windows.
"Whoa!", she shouts. Pinkie Pie and Discord gasp at the sight of Fluttershy dangling for her dear life.
"Fluttershy!", Pinkie Pie and Discord both shout in unison. Fluttershy becomes scared as she keeps dangling from the windows, looking down at the ground below her, which gives her quite a fright as Fluttershy has always been frightened of steep heights.
"Uh-oh," said Fluttershy. She is now beginning to regret ever climbing up the ladder just to paint around the windows, which is exactly what Applejack had previouly warned them all not to do in the first place. All because of her stubbornness and refusing to listen to Discord, Fluttershy is now in this scary predicament and she has no idea how she is ever going to get out of it.
Fluttershy is hanging onto the windows, scared for her life.
"Oh, I can't get down! Somepony please help me!", Fluttershy cries out.
"But Fluttershy, how?", Pinkie Pie asks.
"I don't know, but please hurry! Before Applejack gets back!"
"But Fluttershy, we don't know how!", Pinkie exclaims.
"Oh, please help me, somepony! Anypony!", Fluttershy shouts, beginning to lose her grip.
"I will help you, Fluttershy!", Discord exclaims. "Oh, Discord, be careful!", Pinkie shouts out to him. "I will!", he replies.
"I'm falling!", Fluttershy cries out.
Finally, Fluttershy slips off the windows and screams as she begins to fall.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!"
Before she can hit the ground, Discord catches her while hanging onto the ladder. "Gotcha," he says and puts her down.
"Yay! You saved her!", Pinkie Pie cheers. Discord smiles and gives a thumbs up and is about to climb off the ladder, only for Applejack to return and notice Discord.
"Huh?! What the...?!", Applejack exclaims in surprise.
Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Discord all gasp in shock.
"Discord! Get down from there right now!", Applejack yells at Discord.
"But Applejack--" Discord starts to explain, but is interrupted by Applejack.
"I said get down!", Applejack demands. Discord sighs and climbs down the ladder.
"I already told you about that!", said Applejack.
"Applejack, please listen to him!", said Fluttershy, but Applejack refuses.
"No! I made it clear nopony should climb that ladder!", said Applejack.
"But Applejack, I--", Discord begins, but is interrupted.
"No buts!", said Applejack.
"Yeah, but Discord was only--", Pinkie began, but Applejack cut in once again.
"No "yeah, buts," Pinkie!"
"Oh, come on! Just let him talk! They only climbed the ladder 'cause--", Pinkie started to explain.
"I don't want to hear a word! I told you not to!", reprimanded Applejack.
"Applejack, do not be stubborn like Fluttershy!", said Discord.
"Zip it, Discord! You didn't listen and for that, you have to pick all the apples from the trees!"
"But that is exhausting!"
"Yeah! So go do it!"
Discord pauses, then says, "But I swear, I only did it--"
"Now!", Applejack demanded. Discord sighs and walks off.
"Oh," said Fluttershy, beginning to feel guilty.
Later on, Fluttershy is sitting by herself, wondering. Applejack comes by and notices Fluttershy.
"Fluttershy? You okay?", asks Applejack.
"Oh, I'm just trying to figure something out."
"What?"
"Why did you make Discord pick the apples from the trees?", Fluttershy asks Applejack.
"Well, 'cause he disobeyed. I told him not to climb the ladder." It is here that Fluttershy had ultimately decided to tell the truth.
"But he only did it to catch me when I fell from the windows."
Applejack, shocked, gasps. "You climbed the ladder?!"
Fluttershy sighs and says, "I sure did."
"Oh!"
Fluttershy explained, "And I lost my balance and I almost fell off the ladder, so I hung onto the windows. But then I fell, so Discord was on the ladder and he caught me. Then when you came, you saw Discord on the ladder instead of me and you made him pick all the apples."
"So then you disobeyed!"
"I guess so. But why did Discord save me if he doesn't like me?"
"Well, you only dreamed he didn't like you. Think maybe Discord just proved he really likes you since he saved you?", Applejack asks Fluttershy.
"I don't know."
"Well, only one way to find out. I think you should go see Discord," Applejack told Fluttershy.
"But we're not talking."
"Yeah, only 'cause you don't wanna talk to him."
"Hmm...", said Fluttershy as she started to think about this.
Meanwhile, Discord is getting exhausted picking the apples from the trees.
"Oh, gosh. This may take forever," said Discord as he sighs. "I am feeling so sad and mopey today."
Discord begins to sing a song called "Friends."
"I am sad, so sad / Today is very bad / I have absolutely no idea what has gotten my best friend so mad / When I play pranks, I mean absolutely no disrespect or offense / After all, what fun is there in ever making sense? / I never mean to upset anyone / All I want to do is have some fun / Sometimes, I like to crack a pun / But how can I if my friendship is done? / Friends, friends / They make me glad / Pranks are not awful, they are funny and rad / Just because I am mischievous does not mean I am bad / I do not want to lose my friends because it makes me sad"
Fluttershy is walking around when she notices Discord singing alone. "Discord?" Discord continues to sing as Fluttershy secretly watches.
"I am sad, so sad / Today is very bad / My intention is to make everyone feel happy and glad / I like not making sense / But when they accuse me of something, I speak in my own defense / I do not mean to upset anyone / All I want to do is run and play / And I want to stay that way / So I can have fun every single day / Friends, friends / They make me glad / Pranks are not awful, they are funny and rad / Just because I am mischievous does not mean I am bad / I do not want to lose my friends because it makes me sad / Friends, friends / I need them so bad / I never had any in my life, especially not my dad"
Fluttershy begins to feel bad for Discord. "Oh..."
Discord continues to sing, "Just because I am different does not mean I am not rad / I do not want to lose my friends because it / Makes / Me / Sad / Friends, friends, I need them bad"
The song ends. Then Discord hears Fluttershy approaching him. Fluttershy begins to giggle nervously.
"Hi," said Fluttershy. Discord turns his back towards Fluttershy and crosses his arms.
"Hmph."
"Do you mind if I ask you something?", asks Fluttershy.
"Why? I thought you were not talking to me," said Discord.
"Well, that was true, but now, it's not. Can I please just ask the question?"
"Fine. Go ahead."
"Um, how come you never said anything to Applejack about me being on the ladder?"
"I do not know," said Discord.
"Like, why did you save me when I fell from the windows before Applejack came?"
Discord shrugs and says, "I have no idea. Probably because... you are my best friend?"
"But why'd you do that? I thought you didn't like me."
Discord turns around and says, "That is not true! Why do you think I do not like you?"
"Well, because you said so in my dream," said Fluttershy. Shocked and confused, Discord pauses.
"You mean this entire altercation started because of something I said in your dream?"
Fluttershy pauses, then says, "Mm-hmm."
"Sweet Celestia."
Fluttershy begins to laugh, soon followed by Discord.
"Silly, huh?", said Fluttershy.
"Very!", said Discord.
"Yeah!", Fluttershy agreed.
Fluttershy and Discord continue to laugh as they hug each other. Fluttershy and Discord proceed to sing a reprise of "Friends."
"We are glad, so glad / Today is very rad / We have absolutely no idea what we were thinking when we were mad / When we have fun, we mean absolutely all fun and respect / After all, what fun is there in ever making sense? / We never mean to upset anyone / All we want to do is have some fun / Sometimes, we like to crack some puns / And now, we can since our friendship is re-done / Friends, friends / They make me glad / Pranks are not awful, they are funny and rad / Just because I am silly does not mean I am bad / I do not want to lose my friends because it makes me sad / Friends, friends, you need them bad"
The song ends. Later on, Fluttershy returns to Sweet Apple Acres and approaches Applejack.
"Applejack, guess what?", said Fluttershy.
"What?", said Applejack.
"I talked to Discord, told him about my dream, and everything worked out! We're best friends once again!" Fluttershy triumphantly laughs and performs a victory dance, saying in a sing-song voice, "We're best friends once again! We're best friends once again!"
Applejack smiles and says, "Good to know, Fluttershy. And I'm sorry I didn't listen to you when you tried to tell me Discord only climbed the ladder to save you. You see, I learned a lesson, too!"
"No problem, Applejack. Everypony makes mistakes," said Fluttershy.
"Yeah, I know. I really should've listened."
"Well, what I'm really happy about is that Discord and Fluttershy are back to being best friends!", said Twilight.
"Yeah! Fluttershy and Discord forever!", said Spike. Twilight, Applejack, and Fluttershy glare at Spike, who looks confused. "What? They're best friends."
"We were always best friends. It's just that... I sorta forgot," said Fluttershy, a bit embarrassed.
"Well, just don't ever forget again," Twilight told her.
"I promise I won't. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!", Fluttershy recited the Pinkie Promise.
"Good," said Twilight, smiling.
Applejack added, "But y'know, since you still disobeyed, you have to pick all the apples from the trees, so go on."
"Okay," said Fluttershy, accepting her punishment.
Later on, Fluttershy returns to Discord with a slightly disappointed look on her face.
"Did you get punished, too?", asks Discord.
"Mm-hmm. But it's worth it. Because now, I have my best friend back!"
"Oh, Fluttershy! Come here!" Discord hugs Fluttershy and they laugh and then smile at each other.
