Just like her mother, Rara's daughter Shining Star is a singer. Rara just hopes her daughter doesn't go down the same wrong path that she did. Luckily for both of them and Spotlight, Svengallop is long gone and their new manager Lime Light is one who will willingly listen to little Shining Star.

It’s a new day as Rara finally agrees to take Shining Star into the recording studio for the first time. There, they are greeted by Rara’s husband Spotlight and a pale green mare with a lime green mane and tail named Lime Light. “Hello,” says the mare bending down to be on Shining Star’s level, “what’s your name little one?”

“Shining Star,” responds the filly. “And I wanna be a singer.”

“Yeah, she takes after her momma,” responds Spotlight.

“She sure does,” agrees Rara, “and I’m so proud of her too. Can we let her have a go at recording an album? She wrote some original songs on her guitar recently.”

“Sure,” responds Lime Light. “Let’s get her in the booth.” Rara nods and Spotlight helps their daughter into the recording booth. Rara then hands the filly a guitar and she begins to sing.

“This first one,” says Shining Star, “is one my mama taught. Enjoy as I perform for you, my rendition of “Equestria The Land I Love.”” She begins to sing. “Equestria, the Land I love. A land of harmony. Our flag does wave from high above for ponykind to see. Equestria a land of friends where ponykind do roam. Equestria my home.” She then transitions into her original songs. “This next song is titled “A Simple Country Life”. Please enjoy.” “I was born and raised, upon a country farm. Cows and hays for acres and miles, where animals freely roam. Waking up with the sun, going to bed as it sets. Oh the joy and happiness, no need for more quite yet. Naive, young, not full of it, a simple country girl. What can I say? That was my entire world. Baling hay, milking cows, bucking apples to my hearts content. Spending time with friends and family, what more could I ever want? Why would I ever ask for more? A country filly living her very best simple country life. What more could I ever want? This is the perfect life! What more could I ever want? This is the perfect life!”

Shining Star goes on to sing another five songs before finishing off the album. Over the following days, it is reviewed over by her father, by Lime Light, and by her mother as well as by the owner of the studio. Three months later, it is cleaned up and released. It is titled A Simple Country Filly. Over the following weeks, it makes its way up the country music charts and soon sticks at number two before after another five weeks jumping to number one. Needless to say, the entire family is thrilled. Rara and Spotlight are so proud of their little girl. She’s on her way to being a country star.

A few weeks later, Shining Star comes into the studio for another time and records another album as well as her first single. A week after recording the single titled “Starlight” is released and a year later, the album titled the same is released. Rara is thrilled. She’s so proud of her daughter. “Sing it for me darling,” says Rara with a smile. “That song is so pretty. Your voice is soft like that of an angel’s.”

“But I’ve already sang it three times for you and dad, mommy,” responds Shining Star.

“Please,” responds Rara.

“Okay, what harm is there in one more time?” Sighs Shining Star. She begins to sing. “Starlight, star-bright, first Star I see tonight, I see you fall then rise back up. Starlight, you light up the world. Your courage it shows. You make everyone believe in you and the Magic you hold. Starlight, star-bright, first Star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight. Wishing upon stars, I used to think it foolish, now I think there’s something to it. All my dreams when I wish, they tend to come true. Little Star, there’s more to you and I know it. See the starlight. See it glow. It holds each wish, now you know. It holds each wish, it’s true, I believe. It holds each wish, I told you so. What more do you need to know? Starlight, Star-bright, you shine the brightest light. You give a hope to all in need. Here I am, starlight, and I believe. Here I am, starlight, and I believe.”

“Beautiful,” says Rara her eyes watering. “So beautiful.”

“Thanks mom,” says Shining Star blushing. “I get to perform it at the Cider Barrel Bar in town in a few weeks. I’m so excited. Do you think you and dad can make it?”

“Yes, we wouldn’t miss it for the world,” respond Shining Star’s parents. “We’re so proud of you, our darling girl.” They go over and give her a great big hug. The family then heads out into town for dinner. As they walk, they see shooting stars overhead. As Rara sees them, she lets out a sigh as she thinks of AJ.

“What’s wrong, momma?” Asks Shining Star.

“Yeah, what’s wrong, honey dearest?” Inquires Spotlight.

“The stars just remind of AJ and her parents, I was out of town when they died,” sighs Rara. “She says each time a set of shooting stars fly by it’s the spirits of her parents.”

“Well, they’re looking out for you as much as they are her,” responds Spotlight. “Now let’s go enjoy dinner.” Rara nods and they continue on their way to a small little diner called the Wagon Wheel Shack. There, they enjoy dinner and milkshakes. As they are sitting there enjoying their meal, the family is approached by two little fillies.

“Hello, are you Shining Star?” Ask the fillies.

“Yes.”

“We just wanted to say we love your music! Your new single is amazing!” Respond the fillies.

“Well, thank you,” blushes Shining Star. She happily takes a picture with and signs autographs for the pair of fillies. The two trot off and Shining Star gets back to eating dinner with her family.

“Is that what you used to get a lot of, momma?” Asks Shining Star.

“Oh yes, and I still do from time to time,” responds Rara with a giggle, “but don’t worry you get used to it, way too used to it to the point it becomes normal.” She sips on her chocolate shake. Shining Star stops asking questions and does the same. After another hour, the family returns home and they head off to bed. It’s going to be a long day tomorrow and over these upcoming weeks. That’s for sure.

Over the following weeks, Rara helps Shining Star write some new music and lyrics. As she’s helping her daughter, Rara suddenly feels faint and weak. “What’s wrong, momma?” Inquires a worried Shining Star.

“I don’t know but please go call the doctor,” responds Rara as she lies down on the couch. Shining Star nods and heads off to call the doctor. A few minutes later, the doctor arrives. He is let in and led over to Rara by a worried Shining Star.

Not long after the doctor arrives at the house, Spotlight returns home and soon rushes to his wife’s side. “What’s the news, doctor?” Asks a worried Spotlight.

“Your wife is fine,” responds the doctor, “just pregnant. Congratulations.” Rara reached up and grabs Spotlight’s hoof.

“We’re gonna be parents again,” says Rara to Spotlight weakly.

“I know,” responds Spotlight, “I’m just glad you’re okay.” The two share a kiss before turning to face their daughter.

“Shining Star, honey, you’re gonna be a big sister!” Upon hearing this, the filly giddily squeals with excitement before prancing around the room chanting “I’m gonna be a big sister! I’m gonna be a big sister!” She runs over and embraces her parents in a great big hug. She truly can’t wait to be a big sister at long last!!!
