Coming To The Castle
I walk out of my house, as the morning sun shines against my body. I wear my PJ bottoms with black and white stripes and a white shirt. I walk along the stone steps away from my home and towards the mailbox, hoping my paycheck has come. As I made it to the mailbox, I cross my fingers before opening. Once opened, my luck has come, as a small sack was taking some space for everything else that looks crammed.
"Could've done a better job with putting things in here," I said to myself, as I pull out my pay and mail.
One of the letters surprised me; it was a normal letter with a sun that looks like princess Celestia's cutie mark.
"Huh?" I said, before closing the mailbox and walking back to my house. "A letter from the princess herself? I wonder what it means."
As I walk into the confides of my house, I close the door behind myself and headed into the living room. I sit down on the couch and place the other mail and my sack of bits beside me before continuing to stare at the letter with Celestia's cutie mark.
"Is it really from her?" I asked, as I began to open the letter, ripping away the outer layer.
Once the letter is open, I put the garbage on my right before looking at what the message, which reads:
Dear Eren,
It's been a year since you've became a citizen of Equestria and are living in a comfortable life among creatures that seem alien to you. The reason to why I write this letter is because I'd like you to come to Canterlot so that we can chat and get to know each other more. When I first met you, you were pretty scared and shy, but now that you've gotten used to everything, I'd like to start over. There will be tea and cake, even though I don't know if you're into that stuff, but it'll be here waiting for the two of us to snack on once you arrive.
Hope to see you soon,
Princess Celestia
"So, my hunch was right," I said, as I put the letter on my lap. "It is from Celestia... perhaps she's right. I'd like to see her again since it's been a year since I last saw her."
Thinking back, I remember being so scared of everything around me because I had no idea where I was at. I once lived on Earth, having a peaceful life, until I somehow got here and have no idea how to get back. I eventually got a job here in Ponyville, got a home, and friends with a mare named Berry Punch, but I don't have the hots for her because she's married. The one thing that sucks for me is... well, I find it weird to been love with a talking pony because back on Earth, it would be fucked up if I banged a pony. The last time I lost my virginity was back in high school with a girl named Jessica, but she then moved far away and I never saw her again, nor did I get the time to ask for her number or Email.
My name is Eren, a twenty-five-year-old human who lives in Equestria. My hair is black, my eyes are green, and I have a little of facial hair.
"If I am to meet the princess," I said, as I get up from the couch. "I need to look good and clean."
I marched upstairs and went into my room, heading to my closet to find something good to wear. I flip through T-shirt after T-shirt, until I found a black suit, which is made from Ponyville's Rarity, along with matching shoes.
"Perfect!" I said with glee, as I grab the hanger and looked over it. "Can't go to Canterlot looking like a tourist."
I take the suit and pull it off the hanger, before tossing it onto the bed, then reaching down for the shoes and putting those beside.
"Now one more thing," I said, as I look at my sliding windows from my closet and place a hand on my face. "I gotta shave off this facial hair. I don't wanna look like a bum."
Fifteen minutes later, I walk downstairs with combed hair, shaved, clean, and prepared to go over to the castle looking fly as possible, not that I'm trying to hit on the princess or anything. As I make it to the bottom, I walk into the kitchen and pulled out a piece of bread from the cupboard before walking up to the coffee table and grabbing my small sack of bits.
"Can't forget this," I said before taking a bite into my slice of bread.
I walk towards the door and was greeted again by Celestia's sun, as it shines down above me. I lock the door behind me before walking on the stone steps and then away from my property to see ponies walking around, doing their own business.
"Good morning, Eren," said a female voice from behind me.
I turn around to see Berry Punch wearing a purple polka dotted dress with a matching purple sunhat.
"Good morning, Berry," I said, as the two of us shake hands. "Long time no see."
"You're looking quite handsome today," she said, as the two of us walk together in the same direction. "What's it for? You on a date?"
"N-no, not really," I said with an awkward chuckle. "I'm going to see princess Celestia and I wanted to look good and not make a bad impression."
"Oh, wow! You got summoned?"
"Yep. She wants us to catch up, since the last time I saw her was when I somehow got her in Equestria. Very awkward."
"I see," she said with a funny look on her face, as though she thinks I'm lying.
"What's that look for?"
"Well, I think you're gonna try and court with her."
"What?! No! She's... she's not my type."
"Yeah, sure," she said with a giggle.
"Where are you going, pray tell?"
"Going to buy my husband and myself some wine from the winery."
"How is your husband, by the way?"
"He's doing fine. He and I have the day off, so we decided to have a nice dinner and wine tonight."
"Sounds nice," I said, she and I began going separate directions. "See you around, Eren. Perhaps my husband and I can come over some day and have dinner at your place."
"I wouldn't mind your company," I said, as I wave to her. "Have a good day."
"You too," she said before the two of us look away from one another.
"A dinner party? I'm down with that."
I sit on the bench, waiting for the train to come. As I waited, I read through Canterlot Times and read through some articles. There were many things going on; statue made in a high school stands in front of said high school, Sassy Saddles making bank at one of Rarity's stores, and Yaks coming from the Yak kingdom to see princess Twilight yet again.
"Newspapers here are different than the one's from back home on Earth," I said, as I folded the newspaper and placed it beside me for the next pony who finds it.
I stand up and gave out a stretch before hearing the train coming in and slowly stopping until a loud hiss is heard. The doors open, as a small crowd of ponies exit the compartments. As soon as they exit, the conductor from the front of the train yells out his usual 'All aboard', making some ponies, including myself, go into our compartments, which are said on our tickets. I walk up to compartment C and stepped in, taking a seat two seats away from the door.
"Now off to Canterlot," I thought, as I made myself comfortable on my seat.
Forty-five minutes have passed, as I walk around Canterlot seeing ponies looking fancy and some looking as though they own a mansion or possibly do. There are couples smoking out of fancy pipes and a few outside restaurants with ponies eating fancy food that I can't even afford.
"Damn," I thought to myself, as I walk around the sidewalk. "I feel so out-of-character here. I wish I was rich."
As I make a left turn, there it was, about five miles away up on aside a mountain stood Canterlot castle. I stand there with my mouth gaped wide open, as I look at it and all of its glory. It's been a year since I've seen that castle and never have I remembered it looking this amazing. I guess the shock I had made me not realize it.
"Excuse me, Sir," said a fancy-like male voice from behind.
I turn around to see a unicorn wearing a black suit and a monocle around one of his eyes. Beside him stood a woman wearing a white and pink dress.
"Do mind if you move aside," he said, as though he were royalty.
"Well, excuse me, your highness," I said with a roll of my eyes, as I move out of his way.
"Thank you, good Sir," he said, as he walks past me.
As I step back on the sidewalk, I watch him with his woman beside him and sticked out my tongue.
"Ass," I mumbled to myself before walking forward.
I walk for five miles and yet, it felt as though I'm never gonna make it to the castle on foot. I walk over to a bench and took a rest.
"Phew," I said, as I waved my hand in front of my face. "Getting tired of this walk. It's too far for me to walk on foot."
As I look around, I see four guards across from where I was, at a bar having a drink with a large carriage parked in front of the building on the left. The carriage was large enough to fit in four people (at least that's my guess), has Celestia's cutie mark on the door, gold outlines, and a thing in front for the soldiers to push.
"So where is this human?" asked one of the guards before taking a sip of his drink.
"The princess that he would be here at this spot," said another, "as though she foretold his coming."
"Freaky."
Since they said they were looking for a human, they must mean me, right? I got up from the bench and walk across to where the guards are, as they continue to drink.
"Um, excuse me," I said, getting their attention. "Hi. Are you guys, looking for me?"
"So, you're the human?" asked a guard on the further left stool.
"Yeah," I replied.
"Well, boys, looks like we found him."
"Care to join us for a drink?" asked the guard in front of me. "It'll be on us."
"Wow, thanks," I said, as I sit at the last stool to the right. "I walked five miles and feeling exhausted."
"If you were planning on walking all the castle," said the guard on my left with a scar on his left eye. "It's another ten miles."
"You serious?!"
"Yep. We walked that far with this carriage to escort you. But please, have a drink."
The bartender slides over a small glass of ale, as I catch it with my right hand. I took a large swig and place it back down.
"Damn, this tastes good than the ale in Ponyville," I said.
"You sure have come a long way," said the guard with a scar.
"Doesn't seem like it."
"Why're you here?"
"Because princess Celestials summoned me to hang out with me."
"Really?"
"I haven't seen her since I first got here."
"I know."
"Huh?" I said, cocking a brow. "How do you know?"
"I was there when you got here, all scared and confused. Don't worry, buddy, we won't hurt or make fun of you because you're different."
"Thanks," I said with a smile. "The name's Eren. Yours?"
"Just call me Scar. It's a nickname."
"Sure thing, Scar," I said before taking another sip of my ale.
"Once you're done, we'll get going."
"Got it."
An hour has passed, as I sit in the carriage, as soldiers push in front towards the castle. I stick my head out the side and awed at the castle, as it looks back at me as a welcome.
"Wow," I said softly. "Amazing."
"You okay in there?" asked one of the guards in front.
"Sure," I replied. "Can't wait to see the princess again."
We then stop in front of a moat with the drawbridge up. One guard is spotted using his telescope just for safety reasons.
"Who goes there?!" shouted the soldier with the telescope.
"It's Scar!" called out Scar. "We have the human! Open the gates!"
The soldier disappears, as the drawbridge slowly goes down. Once it falls down completely, the soldiers push the carriage, as my heart beaten quickly with excitement. On the other side, the drawbridge closes, as we step into the royal front yard. The drawbridge goes back up, as I exit the carriage and look around at the flowers.
"Well, we're here," said Scar, as he walks up to me. "Just go through those large doors and she'll be on her throne."
"Thanks, Scar," I said, as I pull out four bits and gave one of them to him. "Here's my token of gratitude."
"Thanks," he said.
"And hand these to the fellas," I said, as I place three more bits onto his hand.
I walk past him and walk up towards the big doors, that stand tall and mighty. One side has princess Celestia holding up a sun and the other is Luna holding up a moon.
"Oh, boy," I said, as I nervously straighten out my suit. "Here I go."
I place a hand on the left side that has Celestia and gently push it open, as a low rumble is made. Once I pushed a little for my whole body to walk in, I stick my head into the throne room and up ahead is princess Celestia sitting on her throne. I walk in and close the door behind me before looking back at Celestia from afar.
"Come forth," said Celestia in a calming voice from afar.
I walk along the red carpet from where I step on and look to my left and right to see stain glass of old memories of Equestria's history, including Luna's banishment, which is a little hard to look at because that's her sister. Once I got close, I can get a better image of Celestia, as she sits on her throne wearing a white dress that shows some bosom and her thighs. She wears a gold collar that has a sun dangling above her breasts, her usual crown with a large purple embedded in the middle, and wears white high heels. Her wings are spread out, as though she were an angel from heaven that has come down to help lead ponies and such. My favorite trait about her is her hair and tail; I love the way they flow like a calming lake glistening under the sun.
"Good afternoon, Eren," said Celestia in a friendly tone.
"H-hi," I stuttered. "H-how's your day b-been?"
"Is everything okay? You seem nervous."
"I am," I said, as I scratched the back on my head. "I j-just wanted to m-make a good impression and not ruin anything f-for our meeting."
"No need to worry," she said with a giggle. "You are doing fine."
"It's just... well, it was a coincidence that I get to meet one of Equestria's royals in the flesh again and inside of her beautiful castle."
"Well thank you, Eren. It's been a year since you came here, hasn't it?"
"Yes, your majesty."
Celestia stands up from her throne and walks down, making a clack with each step. Once she stood in front of me, my heart felt like it was gonna burst. I was nearly gonna throw up over the pressure, so I immediately took a knee and bowed.
"What are you doing, Eren?"
"B-bowing," I replied.
"Are you that nervous?" asked Celestia, as she places a hand on my left shoulder, making me give out a jolt.
"Y-y-yes," I said, as I swing back up. "I've never hang out with royalty before. It's like meeting the president or-"
I get cut off, as Celestia slaps her hands onto my cheeks and holds me still.
"Calm down, Eren," she said in a soothing voice. "You don't need to feel pressured. Just please... calm down. Take a deep breath with me."
She inhales, making me do the same, then exhaled. We did this three more times, before my heart beat began to slow down. She slowly takes her soft hands away from my face, as my body began to feel as calm as ever.
"Better?" she asks.
"I do," I said with a surprise.
"Good," she said with a smile. "Now come with me. I'd like us to talk in the garden."
"You got another garden?" I asked, as the two of pass the throne to the right.
"I love flowers and plants," said Celestia, as she looks down at me with a tender smile. "I loved them since I was a child."
"My mother use to garden a lot when it was sunny," I said, thinking back on my childhood. "I was a kid who loved getting dirty and would be the one who gets dirtier the most."
"What is her favorite type of flower?"
"They were... posies! That's it! She always loved those."
"My favorites are tulips."
"And mine are... roses. Always thought those flowers look beautiful and elegant."
"Those really are a good choice," said Celestia, as she and I made it to a door.
Celestia opens it and outside, are many types of flowers that are on the balcony with a view of the waterfall half a mile away. At the end is a table for four, which is where I guess Celestia and I are gonna talk. On the table is a pot of warm tea and two wrapped up pieces of cake. I walk out and notice red and blue roses, that bloom beautifully under the sun. Her height is taller than mine; I'd say I'm like up to her shoulders.
"Looks like you have roses," I said, as I took a knee to get a better look at them. "They're pretty healthy, too."
"I take very good care of my flowers," she said, as she walks past me.
"You really do," I said, as I look over to her, taking a seat on a chair.
"Come, Eren. Sit here with me."
I walk over and sit across from her, as she looks over to the waterfall.
"Such a nice view from here," said Celestia. "This is where I come to when things have me down. Looking at the flowers and this waterfall show me what a beautiful world Equestria can be."
"Equestria sure is wonderful, Celestia," I said, as I place my hands on my lap.
"So, tell me, Eren," said Celestia, as she looks back at me and rests her hand on top of her hands. "How are you enjoying your life here?"
"It's a big change in my life since I came here from Earth. There's no TV, not a lot of electronics in Ponyville, and it's too much for me to live in Manehattan. Besides that, I love where I live. I made friends with Berry Punch and her husband."
"It's good to make friends, isn't it?" she asks, as she grabs the teapot and began pouring tea into my teacup.
"Please, your highness," I said, as I place a hand onto the teapot. "Allow me."
"Such a gentleman," she said, as I grab the handle and began pouring tea into her teacup before mine.
"You are a princess and I believe you should be treated like one," I said, as I poured the other half of tea into my cup.
"May I ask, have you ever been married?"
"No," I said, as I put down the teapot. "Not really. I did like this one woman."
"Oh? What's her name?"
"Her name is Teresa. Nice woman. She's a few years younger than me and I had a crush on her, but I was too shy to ask her out or even say that I liked her."
"You're shy?"
"Yeah. Sadly," I said before taking a sip of tea.
"Why couldn't you make friends with her? You made friends with Berry Punch and she's female."
"I guess it was because I had some guts to talk to her. Teresa is a different deal."
"What's so different?"
"Well, she's a human and Berry is a mare. I never had feelings for Berry because she's married."
"Oh, I see."
"Plus, I don't know what love is and nor will I experience it."
"Don't say things like that, Eren! There is a perfect mare out there that will like you for who you are."
"That's the problem. You see, the ponies back on Earth are different compared to Equestria's. Back home, ponies don't talk, or fly, or do magic. Your world has true magic, but mine doesn't. Also, it's wrong for a human to love a pony because it is considered bestiality and it's... wrong."
"So, your kind has learned that it's wrong to make love to ponies?"
"And any other animals as such. So, me falling in love with a ponies Equestria, is not right to me. If I were caught making love to a pony, I would get into serious trouble and I would be considered a freak among my population. I'm sorry, your highness, but I can't make love to a pony."
"You poor thing," said Celestia with a saddened look. "If only there was a way to bring a human female here."
"If only... why do you care so much about my love life?" I asked, as I take a sip of tea.
"Because I care about you and my subjects. You are all like a family to me."
"You have a big heart, your highness," I said, making Celestia's cheeks go red.
"You're so sweet," she said, as her tails sways back and forth like a happy dog.
"You really do. A princess like yourself deserves a nice young stallion."
"You think so?"
"Why not? You're kind, caring, beautiful- I mean... kind."
Things went silent, with the exception of the waterfall.
"This tea is really good," I said, holding up my teacup and trying to change the subject. "Hehehe..."
"You think I'm beautiful?"
"Y-yes? Is this a trick question?"
"I'm being serious. Do you think I'm beautiful?"
"Well... you are a very beautiful mare," I said, feeling my cheeks go warm. "You have... beautiful hair and have a sweet personality."
Celestia's cheeks go ever redder; however, she smirks. She brings her head up and crosses her arms, tapping on her left arm.
"Looks like I caught you red-handed, Eren," she said, still holding that smirk.
"Wh-what? Did I do something bad?"
"No! You said you don't like ponies, yet you complimented me nicely and said I looked beautiful. Admit it, you like me."
"N-no!" I said, flailing my arms. "Let's forget about this! I'm sorry I brought it up!"
"Oh no, my little human," she said, shaking her head. "Admit it! You like to fall in love a mare like me, don't you?"
I know I shouldn't tell her truth, but in fact, deep down, the mares here in Equestria are quite attractive. Princess Celestia herself, is very beautiful as I said before.
"Okay! Okay! I like mares! Deep down, I like to fall in love with a mare! I just... haven't found her yet."
"Why not me?"
"Huh?! You?!"
"Of course. I feel a click between the two of us and I believe it is time I tell you the truth to why I summoned you here."
"What's the true reason to why I'm here?"
"Well... you see... I brought you here so that... I can have a husband in my life."
"What?! Why pick me out of every stallion out there?! We barely spend a lot of time to get to know one another."
"Look, I know this is a surprise, but since I last saw you, you... became part of my dreams."
"You thought about me in your dreams? Okay, that's a little too far, your highness."
"I have feelings for you, Eren! Please, give me a chance! If you live with me, I can give you a life you never knew existed."
"... This is all a lot for me to take in, your highness... Can I please think about this?"
"Take your time," said Celestia, as she rests her head back on top of her hands. "I'll be right here for your answer."
My mind is going crazy! I can't believe I get summoned here because Celestia has feelings for me, yet I am not a stallion. Why me?! There are plenty of fish out at sea and that fish just happens to be me?! Perhaps... being with her won't be so bad. If I were to live here, I would have servants, live in a great bed, see a great view like now, have a beautiful garden, and love a beautiful mare like herself. Maybe I'm overreacting; I think this is time for me to change my life style.
"I would live a life of luxury," I thought. "Hell, I too can feel a click between us. She and I happen to love gardening. Perhaps there are other things we like. If we talk more about one another, I may find something in her that reminds me of myself."
I let out a sigh and gave Celestia a smile.
"Have you come up with a decision?" she asks.
"Celestia, I would like us to be together on one condition."
"Yes?"
"Let's get to know one another more. Is that alright with you?"
"I'd love that, Eren," she said with a gentle smile that made my heart skip a beat.
"Damn, she is rather cute."
"So, tell me about yourself, Eren. I'm all ears."
"Well... you know that I live in Ponyville and that I do have a friend. Personally, when I was younger, I became a geek amongst the family. I always loved reading comics and even read literature. One of my favorites is called The Neverending Story."
"What's that about?" asked Celestia before sipping her cup of tea.
"It's about boy that finds a book that tells a story about a place called Fantasia, which is a world that is made from creativity of many people that become a creature of some sort. However, the world of Fantasia is dying, along with its princess because of the nothing. The nothing is destroying the wonderful world and a boy named Atreyu is to go and stop it and also save the princess who has some sort of link to the nothing."
"Sounds very interesting."
"If only there was a copy here. Would buy it."
"What else about you?"
"I love jogging in the morning, having ice cream at night whenever I felt hungry, and I love to garden."
"It's cute for a human to garden. I like a male who can garden."
"W-what about you? What's your story?"
"Well, I've been a princess for hundreds of years, loves to garden, takes care of her subjects and her sister."
"Speaking of, where is she?"
"She's sleeping. She stays up all night looking over Equestria for me."
"Ohhh."
"I love to sneak cake late at night when everypony is sleeping in the castle."
"You and I love to have sweets at night, huh? I see two things we got in common."
"Speaking of," said Celestia, as she grabs ahold of a slice of wrapped up cake. "Shall we?"
"I'd love some," I said, as I reach for the other slice.
The two of us unwrap our slices; my slice was that of vanilla and hers is chocolate. She takes a bite into hers, before I did.
"This cake tastes really good, your highness," I said. "Compliments to the chef."
"You can thank her now," she said with a giggle.
"You made these?"
"I did good, huh?"
"These slices are pretty good."
"Have a bite of mine," she said, sash brings her slice close to me.
"Huh?" I said, feeling shy about it.
"Say 'ah'," said Celestia, as though I were a baby.
I open my mouth before she places the cake into my mouth and making me take a bite into it. She pulls it away and giggles, as I chewed. I couldn't help but chuckle too.
"Whoop! You got some chocolate on your lips there," she said, as she walks up to my left and takes a knee, looking at me eye-to-eye. "Let me get that."
She closes her eyes and brings her lips close to mine before sticking out her tongue and flicking off the chocolate, making me flinch. MY face felt ever so warm, as she gets back up and smiles down at me.
"You look cute when you blush, Eren," she said, making me look away.
"Stop teasing me, Celestia," I said. "I never expected you to do that."
"Are you going to finish your piece?"
"You can have it, since I'm such a sweet guy," I said, handing her the piece.
"You spoil me," she said, as she gently takes the piece and eats it. "Care to walk around the castle with me? I'd like to show you around."
"Of course, your highness," I said, as I get up from my seat.
"Please, just call me Celestia."
As we walk back to the castle, I couldn't help, but hold onto her hand. Her hand feels warm and soft to the touch. I look up to her, as she looks forward with cheeks as red as cherries.
"Do you mind we hold hands?" I asked.
"I... wouldn't mind," she said.
"You know, Celestia, I think I'm starting to like you. You really are a beautiful princess."
"Can you say that I am your princess, please?"
"Celestia, you are my princess."
"Oh my," she said, as she waves her hand in her face.
"She's so cute," I thought to myself with a chuckle.
