A story from Rainbow Dash finding a filly, to that same orange filly turning into a grown mare.

It was a normal afternoon for a tired Dash. That was... Until crying came from a box. Inside, was a filly. This filly was known as Scootaloo. This story follows her aging from weak, and whimpering filly... To strong, and grown mare. Follow Dash as she shows Scootaloo the ins and outs of life.

How Dash Met Scootaloo

Rainbow Dash was tired. It had been a long day of work. She just wanted to go home, relax in bed, and watch T.V. She wasn't flying like she normally would, but was still trotting along at a normal pace. Rainbow Dash could see her home in the distance, causing a smile to go along her muzzle. She was SO close to relaxation... "Na-ba! Waaaah! Nyaba! Gyaaa!".

Dash wondered what in the land of Cloudsdale she'd just heard. It sounded like muffled crying. Dash took a glance around to look for a source of the sound. 'Ah-ha!' thought Dash, as she spotted a box. The crying became louder as she got closer. She saw more features of the box, like how beaten up it was. Dash opened it up, and gasped. Inside... Was a foal Scootaloo!

Dash noticed a note on the side: 'This little shit named Scootaloo is here to be worthless. If you find her here, don't help her. The only thing you should do is beat her, laugh at her, throw stuff at her. Just make her existance feel even more worthless than as it started out.'. Dash was horrified! An abused foal was something Dash never thought could've happened in her life.

Dash knew she only had one choice. She had to take her, or she'd just die. Dash picked up the shaking and crying foal. The foal squirmed, trying to escape Dash's grasp. "Sh-sh-sh-shhh. It's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you." Dash said in a motherly voice. The foal still struggled as she pushed on Dash's face, and almost fell off her wings. Dash held the foal, and tried to fly to her home. Dash was tired, but this mattered more than sleep.

Dash got home, and placed the foal on a chair in her dining room. "Now... What do foal's eat?" Dash pondered. An 'Ah-ha!' Moment went off in her head as she went to go get milk. Dash remembered drinking warm milk as a foal, so she heated the milk up. She took the milk out of the microwave and felt it. Perfect! She walked over to the foal, whom had stopped crying, and gave held her in her wing.

The little foal grabbed the bottle, and began taking giant swigs from it. "Woah... Slow down, Scoots." Dash said. When the foal finished, she took the bottle and dropped it. Scootaloo began to giggle, but stopped when she felt a pain in her stomach. Scootaloo began crying.

This is what Dash didn't want to happen. "It's okay, Scootaloo. You've just given yourself a tummy ache." Dash said, cradling the crying foal in her wings. Scootaloo stopped crying after about 3 minutes. Her tears still in her eyes. Dash wiped them away, causing Scootaloo to flinch and sat at Dash's hooves. Poor thing. She thought Dash was trying to strike her.

Dash brought the foal over to her bed, and set her down. Dash lied down next to her, and pulled the blanket over her. Scootaloo needed rest... Bad.

The Next Day, And The Next Day After

Dash woke up the next morning. It was cold. Dash lifted the blanket to find the foal from yesterday missing. Dash began to panic. Did she escape? Did someone kidnap her? No... No one could have without waking Dash. Dash snapped into reality when she heard a whimper come from the side of the bed. Then she heard a sniffle. Then crying. Dash peered over the bed, and saw a sobbing Scootaloo.

Dash wondered why she was cryin-... Dash saw why. Her fore legs were scraped up. She must've fallen off of the bed and scraped her knees. This was the only explanation why Scootaloo was hurt. Dash scooped her up, put some bandages on her knees, and kissed them. Scootaloo had a smile on her face, and Dash did, too.

"Hey Scootaloo! Peek-aboo! Peek-aboo! Peek-aboo!" Dash continued to the foal, who continued to giggle and laugh. Dash put Scootaloo on the floor and let her roam around for a bit. Dash glanced around for something to do while Scoots played. Dash felt a tug on her leg. When Dash looked down, Scootaloo had her fore legs in front of her head.

"P-Pek-Achoo!" Scootaloo said. Dash sat there a-gasp. Scootaloo paused, cocked her head, and frowned with sad eyes. Scootaloo patted Dash on the left fore leg.

"M-mama? I hungwy." Scoots said. Dash looked even more surprised. Her first ACTUAL words. Dash nodded slowly, and went to get her bottle. She warmed her milk, and fed Scootaloo. Dash just sat on her couch, while Scootaloo watched the kids show: Stewart The Stallion. Scootaloo giggled, and clapped her hooves together occasionally. Dash couldn't handle it... Her first words!

It was the day after Scootaloo's first words. Dash now pushed it down, and came to accept it. Her Scootaloo was growing up. Dash lifted the blanket, and saw a shaking foal with a purple mane, and orange coat. Dash smiled, and woke up the foal. "M-Mammy... Cowd... Need cov-ees!" Said the shaking foal. Dash used her other wing to cover the foal. Tomorrow was going to be Scootaloo's first Hearths Warming. Even though it was cold, the snow was supposed to fall tomorrow. Perfect timing!

First Day Of Snow

"Happy Hearths Warming Day, Scootaloo." Dash said to the shaking foal under the blanket. Scootaloo woke up slowly, rubbed her eyes, and motioned for the 'feathery blanket' as Scootaloo called it. Dash covered her foal, and they both went back to sleep.

When they were both awake, Dash made her breakfast. Dash flew the both of them to the couch, and sat down. She turned on the T.V, and changed it to Stewart The Stallion. Dash always loved watching weather, so she bought a grounded house a few years back. Perfect timing... Again... Dash Lifted the blinds, and saw the snow covering the ground. It was beautiful. Scootaloo seemed interested, and stood on her adoptive mother. "M-mama. Why white on gwound outfide?" Said Scoots. Dash decided to show her, rather than explain.

Dash found her winter coat and hat from when SHE was a foal, and put them on Scootaloo. Scootaloo tried to remove them, but was stopped by Dash. "No, no Scoots. You need these on for outside." Dash said with a strong, yet soft voice. Dash opened the door, as cold entered the house. Scootaloo 'ran' as fast as she could out the door.

Scootaloo put her hoof in the snow for the first time, and retracted a bit. "Mama... It cowd!" Scootaloo said, with sad eyes to Dash. Dash nodded, and motioned for her to step off of the step. Scootaloo retracted multiple times, before stepping off. Scootaloo began stepping on the soft snow. Scootaloo giggled, and looked at Dash.

Scootaloo was jumping/stumbling around in the snow. Applejack walked by smiling, with foal Applebloom at her side. Applebloom was almost the exact age as Scootaloo. Applejack looked, as she passed Rainbow Dash. "Hey, Dash? What'cha doin' here at your ground home?" She said, in her southern flair.

"Well... You know... Wanted Scoots to get used to snow." Dash motioned to Scootaloo, who was rolling around in the snow. Scootaloo's wings began to flutter, and she lifted about an inch off of the ground. She landed back down when her wings stopped, the snow catching her. Scootaloo looked back at her wings, and then at Dash and AJ, who both had their mouths gaping open.

"Got'cha!" Dash said, throwing a snowball at AJ's mouth. AJ giggled, and threw one back. The 2 fillies then tried to make snowballs, and threw them. They didn't go far, but they did go somewhere. This turned into an all out snowball fight between Dash/Scootaloo and AJ/Applebloom. The fight went on for 5 minutes, until AJ threw a snowball which hit Scootaloo right in the face.

Scootaloo whined a bit, and then began crying. AJ gasped, and ran over. "Ah'm so sorry, Sugarcube! Ah didn't mean it!" AJ said, trying to pick up the sobbing foal, who just swatted AJ's hooves away, and stumbled over to Dash. Dash just scooped up Scootaloo.

AJ walked over to Dash, and began to talk, but was interupted. "I know, AJ. You didn't mean it, but she's a foal! She doesn't know that. You might want to go." Dash said, motioning behind AJ. AJ nodded, and went off with Applebloom. Dash cradled the scared foal until she calmed down.

"I know you've suffered before. I can tell from those eyes. I've seen the same eyes in different stallions and mares." Dash said, and took the foal inside. She heated a fire, and closed it off with a glass cover. She slid the foal over to the fire, and sat next her. Dash covered the foal with her wing, and they sat there until bedtime.

5 Years Later

It had been 5 years since Dash brought Scootaloo home. Dash remembered her first steps, first words, first real food, and other things among that nature. Scootaloo could speak, and sort of read and write. Dash had been teaching her to fly, even though she knew Scoot wouldn't be able to at 5 years old. "Scootaloo? Where are you? There's something I need to tell you." Dash said, calling to Scootaloo upstairs. Scoots wasn't ready for being told about being adopted... But Dash was talking about school.

Scootaloo came downstairs, and sat across from Dash, her head down. "Don't worry. You're not in trouble." Scootaloo moved her head up, with a sort of sighing in relief look on her face.

"There comes a time where any pony must go somewhere... For a small amount of time 5 times a week. Now, don't be sad about it, because I'm not leaving you forever. This place is called school. You'll learn things there. You'll learn how to read and write better. Eventually, you could be like me!" That statement made Scootaloo perk right up, a big grin on her face. Scoots always wanted to be like Dash.

"So... At this... 'Cool'? I'll learn new stuff for... some time?" Scoots said, as Dash nodded. Scootaloo didn't see anything wrong with this, as she loved learning new things! Why did Dash need to talk about this?

"The main reason I wanted to tell you about this... Is because of the time it takes. The time You're there for 1 day is about 6 and one half, to 7 hours." Dash said. Scootaloo seemed taken a-back. 7 hours?! Why were ponies subjected to that length away from their mommies?

First Day Of School... Things Go Wrong

Today was the day... School day. Scootaloo and Dash walked to the school, while Dash explained everything about it. When they arrived, Dash guided Scootaloo to the classroom. It was a pretty room, decorated with flowers and colors. On the outside, there was a sign which read: Mrs. Cheerilee's Kindergarten class. Dash hugged Scoot, handed her her lunch, and kissed her goodbye. Dash was almost crying when she left the building.

Dash was watching the clock the whole time. She didn't know how boring it would be without her Scootaloo. "Maybe... I could... Watch a movie or two?" Dash said, looking at the pile of movies that littered the floor. Dash popped the first one in, and relaxed a bit.

Dash woke up, and checked the time. "Crap! 1:45 PM!" Dash said, as she bolted out the door. She ran as fast as she could, which, even at her pace, took her a while to reach the school.

She arrived at 2:00. She looked through the window, and saw her little Scootaloo... In the corner. She was slumped over, and had her head in her fore legs on a desk. The rest of the class was singing, all cheerful. Dash was angry... Really angry.

Dash knocked on the door, and watched Mrs. Cheerilee walk over. Before Mrs. Cheerilee could speak, Dash erupted: "Why is Scootaloo in the corner? Answer me." Dash said, almost right in the face of Mrs. Cheerilee.

"Look... It's not MY fault you don't know how to raise a filly." Mrs. Cheerilee said, a blank look on her face. Dash gasped, and staggered back.

"How DARE you! You're supposed to be a childrens teacher! Now tell me why she's in the corner!" Dash was steaming mad.

"She beat up another filly, okay? Now calm your flank!" Mrs. Cheerilee said, backing up a bit. Dash couldn't believe it. Scoots wouldn't do that!

Dash, out of anger, swung a hoof at Mrs. Cheerilee, which caught her in the face. Mrs. Cheerilee gasped. "Y-You can't hit me! That's... Not right!" Dash didn't care. She was gonna teach a bitch to lie about a filly.

Dash began going wild on the mare in front of her, letting out one blow after another to the face of the screaming pony beneath her. The fillies in the class were screaming, including Scootaloo. The face of Mrs. Cheerilee was becoming broken.

Scootaloo knew what she had to do. She ran over to the teacher's desk, and called 911. The police arrived after 3 minutes, and quickly subdued the rainbow mare. "NO! LET ME GO! SHE'S SPREADING LIES ABOUT FILLIES!"

"Missy, calm down!" One of the officer's said, but got a buck into the gut, causing him to gag.

Dash reached for his taser, tased him. Then, the other officer drew a gun. "Requesting backup. Mare gone insane, blue coat, rainbow mane." He said into his radio. Dash charged him, and rammed into his gut.

The officer fell, and began coughing blood. Dash grabbed the gun, and pointed it at his head. "Requesting backup. One shot is all I need..." Dash said mockingly. Dash pushed the gun onto his head, and pulled the trigger. The officer's head hit the pavement, and went limp.

Police Pegasus flew down, and tased Dash. She went limp, and came back into reality in a cop car.

"Missy? You're gonna have some hard time in jail." The country officer said, dragging Dash out of the car.

The next days were followed with court, and Dash was sentenced to 15 years, with 3 accounts of assault, multiple accounts of filly endangerment, and 1 account of 2nd degree murder.

15 Years Of Prison

It was 15 years after Dash's arrest. Today was her day for release. The first thing she would do... is see Scootaloo grown up. Then finish off the lie-spreading bitch named Cheerilee.

Scootaloo had her own house, job, and boyfriend. Scootaloo was a mail pony, like Derpy. Derpy had actually become the leader of the mail industry.

Dash stepped out of the prison, getting proper sunlight after 15 long years. Dash had changed. Dash was now 37, but not the same. Dash wandered around until she found the mail house. She walked in, and saw an orange coated, purple mained mare. "Scoots. It's me." Dash said, accidentally spooking the mare.

Scootaloo turned around, and gasped. "M-Mom?" Scootaloo said, tearing up, and running at her mother. They both hugged, and Scootaloo cried for the first time Dash knew of for 18 years.

"I'm out of prison, sweetie. It's been a long time. I've missed you." Dash said, in a scratchy voice.
