This is a story about the backround ponies. How they live their lives and what hasn't been told of them. Starting with the main backround ponies to the ones that are barely heard. Follow them all on an adventure in the very magical world of Equestria.
Wub Wub Wub Wub Wub. Octavia sat there quietly sipping tea staring into the warm fireplace. Her face though didn't look very pleasant. In fact she looked quite angry. She sipped her tea once more. This time, from all the vibrations in the house from the bass, thanks to Vinyl, she dropped her cup of tea. She sat there for a moment staring at the cup in even more anger. She quickly arose and headed down to the basement where Vinyl was practicing her music. "Will you turn that crappy music off?! I swear do I really have to tell you again? It is really hard to relax with you blaring that music. I cant even hear my records play. I haven't even been able to practice for my preformance for the royal wedding." Vinyl stopped playing the music and stood there in silence. "You know I have to practice too. Vinyl glared at her. Octavia sighed. "You've been practicing all week." Vinyl rolled her eyes. "Fine I'll go out and search for Pinkie. We are apparently supposed to preform together at the wedding. Vinyl walked up the stairs into the main room. She had a gulp of her Pinkie Party Peach Soda and headed out the door. Octavia stood in the basement alone. She began to circle Vinyls' DJ set. "How on earth can she use this thing? So complicated and electronic. Ugh." Octavia thought. She walked up the stairs into the main room. She got her violen from the side of the fireplace leaning against the rough stone. She sat down quietly and began to play at a beautiful, peaceful tune. Many hours later she took a break and placed her violen in its rightful spot. She smiled. Peace and quiet. Seemed impossible with Vinyl in the house. Octavia trotted to the kitchen to get one of those healthy oat bars. She opened the cupboard. Suddenly, her eyes widened at th sight she saw. Chips, candy, choclate, dip, every unhealthy thing you could think of. Octavia violantly began looking back and forth for healthy food. Then she noticed them... in the trash. "WHAT?! THOSE BARS COST 25 BITS FOR A PACK OF SIX!" She stoped her hooves on the ground. "VINYL!!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. All of Equestria could hear her. Vinyl lowered her ears back as she heard the scream. "Uh oh. Looks like I have to go. Bye Pinkie." Vinyl said as she walked back towards the house. "Bye!! You better get ready to PAARRRTTTAAAYY!" Pinkie said as she jumped around in circles.
Vinyl walked down the cobble stone road to the house. "Great. What am I in trouble for this time. I didn't mean to break the music stand. Nor did I mean to catch some of her music on fire. By the way she screamed, it must be pretty bad. I mean we are best friends but we are so different. Sometimes I just think I should move out. Eh, I'll move out later when I get married." She thought. Suddenly she stopped and stared at the ground. She looked up at the sky with pegasi flying around. A small tear fell from her face. "If only I could find someone who appreciates my music." She sighed and continued to walk down the road with her head hung low. She passed the park hearing little fillies play. More tears ran down her face. When she was a filly she didn't have many friends. They to didn't like her music or understand it one bit. "Alright time to work on my music." Said a girl sitting in the middle of the park sitting in the grass. Vinyls' ears perked up. "New music?" She thought. She trotted over to the pony. "Hey what music are you making?" Vinyl asked the pony. It was Lyra Heartstrings. "Oh, I'm just practicing my harp for the wedding." She replied. Vinyl looked down, Still only classical music. Vinyl stormed out of the park in anger. "Tell Octavia I said hi!" Lyra called out to her. Lyra sat there there and began to strum her harp. The tune sounded like Octavias' just a bit higher and more majestic. Lyra, Octavia, and a couple of other ponies were preforming at the wedding when the princess walked down the isle. Moments later Bon Bon walked up to her. "What are you doing laying in the middle of the grass?" She said as she moved her head to the side. "Oh, hi Bon Bon. I'm just practicing for the Wedding." Lyra said with a smile. "In the grass? Come on lets sit on that bench over." Bon Bon began to walk towards the bench. Lyra got up and trailed behind her. They both sat down and began to talk about how excited they were about the wedding. Bon Bon looked at her. "Why do you sit like that? In that odd position? Doesn't that hurt?" Lyra looked over at her. "What do you mean? The way I sit is perfectly normal. It doesn't hurt at all." Lyra replied as she picked up her harp. "Well ok then. I have to go shoppng to get some apples and a dress. I'll see you later. Bye!" Bon Bon quickly got up and trotted off. Lyra shrugged and began to play her harp For hours and hours she continued to play.
Later on Lyra was finished practicing and ran off to find Bon Bon. On the other side of the park where three ponies. One pegasus, one unicorn, and one land pony. It was the Hooves family. Derpy, Dr, Hooves, and Dinky. Dr. Hooves and Derpy were sitting on a blanket in the grass eating banana muffins while Dinky was off playing with some fillies. "So um, how has work been?" Derpy said as she took a bit of her muffin, Dinky and her had made them early that day. "Great. Traveling the world of Equestria is quite enjoyable my dear. I was thinking you, me, and Dinky could go travel for the summer. How has work in the clouds gone? He replied with a smile on his face. "Oh um, ok, I mean lately I've been making it storm." She replied. "Oh that's great we have been needing some rain lately." He said as he ate some of his own muffin. "Well ya but, I kind of accidentally electrocuted Rainbow Dashs' butt." Derpy got all quiet and looked down dragging her hoof against the blanket. "Oh. Well that's ok dear you didn't mean to. So are you excited about the wedding?" Derpy smiled at the thought. "Do you think Rarity could make a muffin dress? Oh I'm so excited. I still think our wedding is the best wedding ever though." Dr. Hooves blushed as she said that and leaned in to give her a small kiss. As soon as he was about to kiss her he heard a familiar voice. "Mommy! Daddy! What are you doing? I have to ask you something." Dinky and her friend Amethyst Star stood there awkwardly. "Oh U-um hi little one." He backed up a bit from Derpy, blushing even more from embarrassment. "What do you need?" He asked with one of those 'I wasn't doing anything' looks. "Dinky and Amethyst Star started to jump around in circles. "Can me and Amethyst go back to the house and make muffins and hang out? Please?" Dr. Hooves looked over at Derpy for approval. Derpy nodded with a smile and got up. They all began to pick up their stuff. Derpy placed the blanket and the basket on Dr. Hooves back. They all trotted out of the house and headed to the house. Once they were there Dr. Hooves went off to study and Derpy, Amethyst , and Dinky made chocolate muffins. After that they talked about errands they all had to run tomorrow before the royal wedding. After that Amethyst and Dinky started to Role play. She stayed for a aleep over and had an insane pillow fight, After that they fell fast asleep. Later that night Derpy walked into Dr. Hooves office. "Sweet Heart you should get to bed. We have errands to run tomorrow. Dr. Hooves turned around with a smile. He got up and walked out with Derpy. They both got into bed and fell fast asleep.
Vinyl opened her eyes slowly. The sun was heavily shining on her through the window. She blinked a couple of time and got up. She brushed her mane and grabbed her glasses. She headed down the stairs slowly and a little wobbly to the main room. She noticed Octavia practicing her cello again. Octavia noticed Vinyl walk down the stairs. "Well there you are sleepy head. You woke up pretty late." Vinyl moved her head to the side. She glanced at the clock over the fire place. "Late? Its 10:00. How the hay is that late?" Vinyl said in a low tired voice. She trotted over to the kitchen and got some orange juice and took a sip of it. "Well late to me. I woke up at six." Vinyls' eyes widened and spit orange juice on the floor. "Six?! Are you serious? That's insane." Octavia glared at her and looked at the mess she made. "Oh sorry about that. I'll clean that up." Vinyl grabbed a mop and wiped up the mess. "Come on vinyl let's go we got errands to run before the wedding!" Octavia started to walk out the door."Coming!" Vinyl called as she followed her out the door. She shut the door behind them and headed off to Mare Mall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lyra sat outside of her house in the grass quietly strumming her harp. She was practining again for the wedding tomorrow. She was so excited to preform at such a special occasion. Bon Bon was still at home getting ready. She was going to meet her here and they were going to go to the Mare Mall. Then after they went shopping, Bon Bon was going to go to Sugar Cube Corner and help Pinkie Pie make treats for tomorrow. Lyra looked up to the sky and began to think. "Oh the princess is so lucky. Getting married to somepony who is literally a knight in shining armor. They are just so cute. If only I could find a special somepony." She placed her harp on the grass and layed down and continued to think. She was like many mares. She was fond of lovey dovey things and dreamed of getting married. A couple of hours passed from thinking. "Lyra, what is with you and being in the grass? Have you heard of chairs?" Bon Bon said as she trotted towards her. Lyra stood up and glared at her. "Yep. Remember? You always judge the way I sit." Bon Bon looked at silently for a moment. "Ugh come on we have to go shopping. They both trotted off to the Mare Mall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"Wake up Dinky. We have to get going. We need to go get some stuff at the mall." Doctor Hooves said as he shook Dinky out of bed. Dinky blinked a couple of times in confusion. "Why so early? Me and Amethyst going to sleep in." Doctor Hooves looked around the room. The room had become a mess because of the sleep over. Amethyst was slowing beginning to wake up from hearing them talk. "We want to get there early so we can get all the good things before they are gone. Oh and Dinky, You better clean this room up when we get back. Now get up and get ready. Doctor Hooves said as he trotted out the room door into the living room with Derpy. The two young fillies got ready while Derpy and Doctor Hooves were talking. "I need more muffin mix and a dress. I think we should go talk to Rarity about it. I bet she could make it. Derpy said as she finished her banana muffin. Doctor Hooves nodded his head in agreement. "I also need a tux and Dinky needs a dress." As soon as Doctor Hooves was finished speaking the door bell rang. He got up and opened the door. It was Amethyst mom. Then, all of a sudden Dinky and Amethyst came running down stairs. "Thanks for letting me stay." Amethyst said as her and her mom walked off. A moment later Dinky, Derpy, and Doctor Hooves walked out the door also. But, to the mall.
Octavia and Vinyl both quickly ran into the mall. After that they both split up and went on there separate ways. The first store Vinyl was heading for was the music store. Even though she had practiced many times and already knew what she was playing, some fresh mixes live never hurt. She began looking through the stacks of CDs, looking for an upbeat tune to mix to Octavias Cello playing she secretly recorded while she was practicing. Vinyl thought maybe if she mixed some of her music with Octavias more people would like it. As she continued to look through the CDs out of the corner of her eye she saw the perfect CD. She reached her hoof out to grab it. Suddenly another hoof appeared on the CD. At first Vinyl was a bit angered. Then she noticed something. This is hardcore DJ music. Why would a pony want this. Last time I checked all the ponies hated this stuff. She lifted her eyes up to a very handsome looking stallion who had headphones around his neck. "Oh hi there. I'm Neon Lights." The stallion said as he moved his hoof back. Vinyl smiled. "Hi I'm Vinyl Scratch. Are you a DJ also? Or did you just grab this CD so you could buy it then smash it on the ground?" Vinyls emotions changed to a straight and serious face. Neon looked at her with a bit of confusion. "Yeah I'm a Dj. I love this kind of music. I would never break it. But, millions of others would disagree." He said with a small chuckle. Vinyl smiled. "Awesome. I thought I would never find a pony like you. We should hang out sometime." Neon looked at her with a big smile. "Totally i'd love to hang out with a beautiful mare like you. Oh and this is yours." Neon said as he moved the CD towards her. Vinyl grabbed it and began to blush immensely. "Th-thanks." She studderd a bit. Neon walked out of the store off to get his tux for the wedding. Vinyl stood there staring at him with a smile. Wow... a pony who is like me. She thought as she clutched the CD in her hooves. She walked to the register and checked out. As she walked out of the store Octavia came running up to her. "Come on Vinyl we have to get our dresses. I already got my Cello fixed up so come on." Octavia grabbed Vinyls hoof and trotted off into the mall with her.
