Twilight opened her eyes to find herself in a rather elegant bedroom. It was very similar to that of Rarity and the alicorn could only wonder if her friend had purposely designed her room after it or if it was just a coincidence. Speaking of Rarity, she notice her standing right there in front of her...Wait, since when was Rarity so tall? "Jamboree, dearest, I have the most exiting new..." The unicorn saw her and blinked, surprised. "Twilight? What are you doing here? Where´s Jamboree?" "I don´t know or care where or even who is Jamboree." Twilight exclaimed. "Rarity, I´m here to..." "...I know, darling.I´m...That is to say we´re....Trapped in a book.In order to get out, we must follow the script." Rarity interrupted. "How did you...?" "Twilight, darling,what do you take me for? Even a foal could figure that out." "So you´ll tell me the story?" Twilight grinned as her friend nodded. "I´m playing Sugar Plum,a famous and gifted Canterlot musician; you´re playing Jamboree, Sugar´s prepubescent daughter." That expalined her height.Rarity continued. "I was just about to tell you that you´ve been accepted to magic school, where you´ll meet and fall for a colt named Dusty.He´ll love you back but then you´ll both find out a terribly horrifying secret." Twilight nodded and motioned for her to go on. "Being your mother, of course I´ll get involved and in the process, fall for Dusty´s father, Megablue." Rarity let out a love struck sigh and a matching giggle, giving the young princess the idea that that part of the story was already taken care of. "It will all end on a bittersweet note at my wedding with him." "Okay then let´s do it!" She was just about to go out the door when another question popped into her head. "Um, what´s the book called?" "It´s called The one thing we have in Common shall Keep us Apart." She did a dramatic pose for emphasis. Twilight sighed, even the tittle was sappy.It was going to be a long day.
So far, the book wasn´t so bad, it wasn´t even that boring.Unlike she had expected, she hadn´t actually fallen for Dusty, she had instead pretended to be in love with him by lying.Cadance would´ve been furious. "The stars sure are beautiful tonight, aren´t they?" She asked, staring at the night blue sky. The equally blue unicorn colt sitting beside her chuckled. "Not as beautiful as your eyes." Gee, how original. She thougth. But it´s nice to get a compliment every once in a while, tho...Sweet Celestia, Cadance is going to turn me into crystal and feed me to Spike!! Dusty raised an eyebrow. "Something on your mind, Jammy?" Twilight forced a smile. "Only you." He chuckled once again and leaned forward with the intention of closing the small gap between them.Twilight blushed, not only did she not want to kiss him, she´d been told she was a very bad kisser. Luckily, Rarity had told her she da to interrupt the kiss with a question: "Wait, are you sure?" "What?" "I mean...I like you, I just don´t know you well enough yet." She was glad that finally something she said matched her real thoughts and feelings. "Okay then, let´s talk families." He suggested. "My father´s a single father who raised me on his own because Celestia knows where my mother is." Twilight´s jaw hit the floor...Or the grass, Whatever.She really felt sorry for him. "I´m so sorry.You don´t know anything about her?" "I know her name, Sugar Plum." The mare turned filly gasped and ran away before Dusty could keep talking.
She found Rarity not far away, conversing with a pegasus she figured to be Megablue, he certainly looked the part. "RARI-I mean-MOM!!! I need to speak with you RIGHT NOW!" "Sweety, mama is in an appointment right now." She answered, clearly annoyed. But Rarity´s annoyance was nothing compared to hers. "But both our lives are at risk right now!!" Megablue raised an eyebrow at her while Rarity scowled.Twilight pouted, it had became a staring contest. Finally, the stallion broke it all. "Look, Sugar, I´m just gonna go wait for you at the bar.You´ll come when you´re done sorting this out." Rarity sighed. "Very well, darling." The pegasus flew away and Rarity instantly grabbed Twilight. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! This is not part of the story, you´re suppoused to be with Dusty!!" She put her down on the ground again. "Besides, you ruined a perfectly good moment between us." "BUT YOU´VE ALREADY HAD ONE!!" Rarity raised an eyebrow. "What?" "You´re Dusty´s mother.Meaning him and I are half-siblings AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME THAT?!" "I never told you for two reasons." She raised one hoof for emphasis. "One. I know you, darling, I knew you would´ve been hesitant if I told you.Two." She raised another hoof. "It would´ve been a spoiler.I was NOT going to ruin the big twist for you." The mini-alicorn facehoofed herself. "Great, now I have to be with my brother." Rarity cringed. "Heavens, no, that´ll be much uncivilized.Now, if you don´t mind me spoiling, darling...." "RARITY!!" Twilight´s stare could shatter mountains. "SPOIL THE WHOLE THING FOR ALL I CARE!!!" Rarity tried hard to glare back but failed miserably. "You know, I´m technically your mother, dear." She coughed into her hoof and proceeded."Anyways, that´s what makes the story so tragic; I end up with my colt, you don´t." "Hey, Sugar," they heard Blue´s voice coming from far away. "You and the kid almost done." Rarity smirked as she returned to her place. "Speaking of which." Twilight groaned.
"Do you, Sugar Plum, take this stallion as your lawfully wedded husband, throught sickness and health, until death do you part?" The stallion in charge of performing the ceremony mused.Next to him, sat Twilight Sparkle or, rather, Jamboree wearing a pink and black dress and holding an empty basket that had no further than a minute ago been filled with flower petals.Next to her, stood Rarity wearing a pretty expensive and over-the-top wedding dress.The young alicorn wasn´t sure which would kill her first, if the tight belt of the dress pressing and hurting her skin or the ever-growing rage of her best friend. "I DO!!!" She said, giggling like a bashful school-filly. "Then I pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss." As the stallion said that, Twilight felt something dragging her away; she instantly knew what it was, she was getting sucked back to the real world.She smiled and looked at Rarity, who innocently leaned forwards for a kiss only for the real world to start sucking her out as well. "WHAT?!" "Rarity!! It´s over, we´re going home!!!" Twilight smiled. "WHAT?! NO!!" The unicorn reached for the groom , whose eyes ere still closed. "BLUE!!!! I´LL NEVER FORGET YOOOOU!!!"
The unicorn and alicorn woke up and they were at the castle library.Mountains and mountains of books sorrounded them, three ponies laying on the cold shiny glass floor; if their chests weren´t moving up and down, they would´ve swore they were dead. Flying on top of them and loococking an eyebrow was the only other awake pony in the room. "Well, you look like a mess" Rainbow Dash joked as she extended a hooof to help Rarity get up. She didn´t look like she could get up herself. Rarity sniffed, and took her hoof gratefully.Her make-up coming undone as she did so and she shot a glare of pure anger and betrayal at Twilight. "You´re gonna thank me later." The princess groaned as she moved towards the yellow pegasus. Her horn started glowing. "Make sure she doesn´t destroy the portal in the name of revenge, would ya, Dash?" "Rarity Babysitting Duty, you got it!!" Rainbow saluted, earning herself the same glare she´d shot to Twilight. "EXcuse me?! I´m pretty sure I´m older than you." Oh, Celestia.Here we go. As they descended to a cascade of insults and bikering, Twilight rolled her eyes and proceeded to close them.She REALLY hoped Fluttershy´s book would be easier to deal with.
She opened her eyes and found herself in a forest full of cutesy animals looking at her with their cutesy eyes. "Of course." She smiled a little annoyed smile but still had a little affection behind it. This WAS Fluttershy´s book, wasn´t it? Little, pure hearted pure soulded Fluttershy, how bad could it be? "Twilight?" She heard the pegasus´ voice right behind her and turned around to see her wearing possibly the weirdest outfit she´d ever thought she´ll see somepony wear. And she was good friends with PINKIE mind you so the bar was set pretty high on that regard. Anyway, the outfit in question consisted on golden hairclips all over her mane and tail; white gloves that were actually too big to fit on the poor dear´s hooves; a white vest with a giant, shiny, green bow on the center that actually looked big enough to be getting on the way of her breathing and a skirt that was the same color as the bow and a little too short for Fluttershy´s dignity. It doesn't even cover anything. You're lucky we're both ponies.And mares.Whatever,doesn´t matter, I´ll do what I have to do. I´m not getting stuck in here. She thought as she approached her. "Fluttershy! Don't worry, I'll get you out of this in no-time! You just need to tell me what this book is about." "Um..." She blushed. "It's not exactly a book and it's a teensy little bit hard to follow." "Oh, come on, it can't be that hard." Twilight put a hoof on Fluttershy's shoulder to realize she was wearing the exact same outfit but night sky blue instead of green. "I'm your friend, Fluttershy, we have each other's back no matter what." "You won't want to be my friend anymore after this." Fluttershy blushed harder and bit her lip to keep the tears from falling because they both knew, once Fluttershy started crying, it was hard to get her to stop.She´d gotten better over the years but she would always be Fluttershy. "We've been friends for two years and we've been through crazy thing after crazy thing." Twilight smiled a reassuring smile. "Whatever is in this book, it'll never change that, I promise." "Pinkie Promise?" "Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." She looked rather silly doing the gesture with the glves on but that didn´t matter right now. "Thank you, Twilight, you really are a good friend." They hugged. Fluttershy was the first to let go. "Now, it's better we get this over with quickly."
"HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO FIGHT MONSTERS WEARING THESE THINGS?! I DON'T DARE CALL THEM CLOTHES; RARITY WOULDN'T!!" Twilight enraged at her friend as the giant aligator-dragon-thing in front of them growled. PLEASE tell me it doesn´t breathe fire too. "Don´t get angry just yet, I have not finished telling you." "Well, it can´t get any worse." "I wouldn´t jinx it, Twi."
"WELL, AT LEAST I CAN DO MY MANE BY MY SELF AND I AM NOT A SMART-" "Twilght, Fluttershy, you´re back yay!" Rainbow Dash groaned, with every intention of changing the subject. "Why, darlings" The unicorn´s expression changed as she approached her friends and the pegasus gave a sigh of relief. " I´m so glad you´re o..." She reached for a hug with Twi but... "DON´T TOUCH ME!! I´VE SEEN THINGS!!" The alicorn shuttered and Fluttershy seemed like she was about to cry. "I´m so sorry, Twilight." "I KNOW you´re sorry, Fluttershy." "O-kay then?" Rainbow Dash put a hoof on the other pegasus´ back and gave her a look of pity. "Magical Filly?" The caretaker put her head down in shame. "Magical Filly.Thank you so much, Twilight." "Yeah, yeah, let´s just forget about it, shall we?" Rarity raised an eyebrow. She wanted to know but she wouldn´t dare to ask and nopony would dare tell her. She moved to the pink pony. Threeb down, two to go. Heaven forbid Pinkie was anything other than what she already knew.
"Pinkie Pie, I´m here to.... Pinkie Pie?" The pink pony was nowhere around, Twilight kept looking but a crowd of ponies and other random stuff kept getting in the way of both her sight and her moving path. She extended her wings and went to the sky but even then, pegasi, griffons, huge clouds and even air balloons blocked her sight. "Where ´s Pinkie?!" She shouted, frustrated. But then, she heard a giggle from behind a bush. "Rooll credits!!" She would recognize that voice anywhere. The alicorn flew down to get her. She was wearing a white shirt with red stripes and a matching popeller hat. "Hey, Twi, you found me! That was quick!" "So we´re trapped in a Where´s Wallaby? foals book?" "UM, YAAH." She nodded her head as if it would´ve been impossible for them to be trapped anywhere else. "Thank goodness." Twilight breathed, obviously relieved. Suddenly, a red crayon appeared, forming a circle around the pink pony, who giggled. "Hey, that tickles!" The crayon picked Pinkie up from the floor and carried her away. "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Twilight tried to follow but everything turned white.When she could see once again, she was in the jungle. "This is too easy." She put her front hooves around her mouth to use as a megaphone. " CROSS MY HEART AND HOPE TO FLY...!" "...STICK A CUPCAKE IN YOUR EYE!" The hyper voice came, this time, from inside a crocodile. Twilight wrestled it, opening it´s mouth and revealing Pinkie Pie inside. "You´re a blessing, Pinkie." "I DON´T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS BUT THANK YOU!" She squealed, hugging her princess friend with all of her strenght. The crayon came once again, drew a circle and picked the pony up once again. "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" This was going to be fun, as most things were when Pinkie had something to do with them.
"Okay, okay, I´m almost done here." Twilight talked to herself as she flew around the old cottages of the fake Griffonstone. Being a children´s book, it was nothing like Pinkie and Rainbow described; or the history books she´d been reading for that matter. "THERE YOU ARE!!" She called to the pink pony with the shirt and popeller hat she saw.........Just standing there...........Not moving or blinking or doing anything at all......... "Um, Pinkie?" The alicorn poked her friend´s eye with her hoof and she realized It wasn´t Pinkie!! It was a cardboard cut-out!! "Horse apples." She sighed and was about to turn around when she heard a voice. "Yes please!! All these Hide-and-Seek is making me a little hungry. Not that I´m not having fun, of course not, I´m the world champ for a reason, you know. Specially since the scenary is Griffonstone, I can´t help but think about Gilda´s mini-cakes, I could reeeeeally use one right now!" "AHA!!" Twilight called, estatic as she pulled the pink pony, the real one this time, out from under a roof. "HI AGAIN!! I hope you´re having just as much fun as I am. Hey, when this is all over, I could throw another "Thanks for Saving our Lives and Being the Bestest Friendliest Friend Ever, Princess Twilight Sparkle! Party. I kinda lost count of how many of those we´ve had lately but WHO CARES?! I want cake!!!" Before she could start yammering about food and sweets again, the crayon came again. "AND HI TO YOU!! Hey, Cray-Cray, wanna throw a Part-tay?"
Both mares opened their eyes to find Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Rarity playing cards on the floor. "Do you have rose quartz?" Rarity asked. "AUGH, COME ON, RARITY!! Just say pink rock or pink crystal or something!!!! We are not Maud Pie!!" Rainbow Dash groaned, it was clear by her tone it wasn´t the first time she´d had to say that in the past hour or so. "Augh, girls" Fluttershy muttered, facehoofing herself a little bit. "Um, girls?" Twilight coughed, trying to call attention once again. "WE´RE BACK!!" Pinkie shouted, waving her hooves around and hugging the three of them with all of her strenght, almost crushing them in the process. "I´VE MISSED YOU SOOOO MUCH!! You should´ve been there it was SO FUN! You won´t believe how good Twilight is at Hide-and-Seek, she never gave up!!" Rainbow chuckled a little, pulling away from the hug. "Tell me all about it!!" "Only if we go to the kitchen first I´M STARVING!!" Fluttershy looked around a little confused. "Which way is the kitchen again?" Their little talk soon became background noise to Twilight, who still had one more pony left to save and, then, she could go take a nice, long relaxing and much needed nap. She hoped Pinkie didn´t mind she was skipping another party again or she wouldn´t hear the end of it.
