Vile's Journal

Despite Equestria's reputation as one of the best countries to live in, very very little immigration happens there. One immigrant intends to find out why aside from it also being one of the stillest countries in the world. She is Vile Soil.

Vile Soil is immigrating to the newly founded Equestria to find a very stable place to live. Barely anypony else has dared to go there. It may've become one of the sturdiest countries to live in, but there may be some secrets behind it that has caused such scarcity in immigration. What if two events combined over sixteen thousand years ago was happening in Equestria?

That is it! Either there hast to be some cloud cover coming within little time or I will leave Coltan. We just hath two major jolts in just one day. The sun have not even cometh close to setting. Usually, one jolt a day was enough for me to stay suspended on air for many of hour out of fear another jolt may come within the same day; today, oh today, that fear cometh true.

My fellow ponies, I must leave thee to go someplace where jolts shall hit less than once a day, at the most frequent as once every three days' passing. The earth here hast become too unstable for my landings.

Vile Soil cries loudly when she finds the perfect altitude so that no one can hear her. There are no clouds nearby that she could lay on. She'd lost all hope in landing on the ground. Her powers as a pegasus have already taken a beating from the quakes she's experienced from loss of balance on clouds to sore wings to loss of aerial coordination. On this day, two quakes have ravaged through Coltan entirely in only one half of an afternoon. Vile already lost her home now to the quakes that happened.

"It cannot be. It simply cannot be. My home destroyed from unstable foundations."

Suddenly, Vile sees something blowing in the thin breeze.

"A paper?!? I shall see that!"

Vile takes the paper out of the wind and reads very slowly, coming across unpronounceable vocabulary.

"'Come to the newly founded Equestria, where everything lives in harmony.' Equestria? What kind of a lodging shall this be?"

Suddenly it clicks. Vile always read the paper in the morning before those nasty quakes came about to read the news all over the world. Ever since last winter, a new holiday came to pass for the first year. Currently, there's no knowledge in most other parts of the world who the ruler of Equestria is. That place hasn't experienced any quakes ever since it came to be.

"I shall move to this place seeing how now I hast not a home."

And off starts the voyage to Equestria.

May it be that day of the week again, when I smile at the thought of and talk to a figure that sayeth goodbye near exactly 17000 years within the past. I may be the last of my kind who hast the belief in this figure. 'tis already too late to get onto soil because all that is below me and a cloud I taketh below is a vast body of a universal solvent. Why every sunday I stop my flight is to go through exactly what this figure and his subjects hath gone through. If it is for that purpose alone that I stay unsuspended, I will be more than willing to sacrifice my magical abilities as a pegasus.

Something still burns in the back of my mind, howe'er. I hath eaten not since the time I leaveth for Equestria. The vocabulary on the flier was simply wider than even out I hath gone of my lengths to learn. Moreover, my vocabulary hath been passed on to as an offspring to the last couple in belief of the figure I shall believe in. And now, shall I talk to the very influence of my role as a pegasus.

Vile Soil sets her only quill onto the journal, which she closes before putting her hooves together and closing her eyes.

"I am reaching a new land in search of new hope and new mercy and new grace. I ask now that you guide me here in Equestria and keep the ponies back in Coltan safe. I thank you deeply in advance."

Vile slouches on the cloud waiting to sleep now that twilight has set in. She can't write any more on her journal now. Might as well lay there and rest her starving body. That's when she realized she never packed any food. There might as well be tomorrow the next meal comes.

At last! I hath made the whole trip over to Equestria! My excitement hath been too high for me to wait, but now, I do not have to. For I hath arrived!

Right away, I see differences between my land and Equestria. Ponies here seemest to be quite the welcoming ones. I talketh with one of them whilst getting to know every place over here, ne'er to mention that she telleth me that I can stand on the earth without quiver. May I believe that her name was Life Seal. Another was with her, however. Both of them hath wider vocabulary than I hath ever witnessed. May I believe that the other name was Polly Spot. What had brought soft jolts to my body was how much more unkempt their bodies were comparing mine, and apparently I hath been through more jolts. What had worry to my body though was how much more unkempt their bodies were comparing mine because this land is apparently the sturdiest land to be. I intended to find out whether or not there is a contained trait of Equestria, which was the worst of choices I hath ever made.

Two ponies stand in before of Vile Soil, looking more disheveled than her. "Hey there! Welcome to Equestria! We barely get any immigrants here. So, what brings you here?"

Vile Soil only understands the welcome and the question that she answers. "Jolts."

"What?"

"Jolts."

"Um, Life Seal, what are Jolts?"

"Not sure."

"Jolt is the term used in my land for a motion that prevents the magic of a pony from working properly whilst that pony is grounded."

Life Seal's eyes shoot open. "Oh, you mean a quake right?"

"Indeed." Vile Soil nods.

"How bad were they? Surely they must've been pretty darn powerful." The other pony comes by Vile's side.

"Indeed, they were vastly powerful, but they were all too frequent."

"More than once a day?" Vile nods at Life Seal. "Oh. I would've figured that you would've looked a lot worse from those. But I guess you did have the power to fly in full force."

"No, my power was not great. I loseth the ability to stand, tireth my wings from suspension, and loseth most aerial judgement."

"So, what's your name?"

"Vile Soil. And thy names?"

"'Thy'?" The other pony is confused now.

"I think she's talking about us."

"Oh, yeah. I'm Polly Spot and this is Life Seal."

"Polly Spot... Life Seal..." Vile Soil sinks her ears in thought of how meaningful those names are compared to hers and sinks to the ground, not hesitating to land. To add on to that, tears drop from her eyes all the while. Polly Spot and Life Seal proceed to hug the crying mare. "Such beautiful names my father figure giveth you." Soon after, Vile Soil realizes that the two ponies look even worse than her. "Too bad I hath some semblance of fate in presentability."

"Nonsense. You should feel happy you managed to come over here in one piece. Traveling all the way across the Pacific is not an easy task in the slightest."

Suddenly, another pony spots them... a unicorn. "Letter for newcomer pegasi." Vile Soil takes the letter out, only for her to see the worried expressions of Life Seal and Polly Spot.

"Wait! No! Don't open that!"

"Why shall I not?"

"Polly Spot has a point! That letter is a camp invitation! That camp has already taken out half the pegasi in Equestria!"

"Must I remind you that this is just a letter?"

"It's no letter, Vile. DO NOT read it!"

"No! I hast the determination to read this letter."

"NO!!!" Life Seal and Polly Spot shout.

After Vile Soil ignores their warnings and reads the letter, she's absolutely distraught. Puddles of tears form under Vile as she hugs Life Seal and Polly Spot. "It was no wonder thou doth not wanted me to read the letter. This camp thou bringeth up was not a camp at all. My father figure shall be there for thou in the end as long as I talk with him."

"Somepony was with you?!?" Life Seal's face lights up.

"Who?" Polly Spot asks.

"Nobody. I cometh alone."

"But didn't you say..." Life Seal starts.

"I sayeth not whether or not somebody was on my travels."

Polly Spot makes half the connection. "Oh, like praying?" Vile nods. "When was this father figure of yours born?"

"Seventeen thousand years prior. He liveth only to be thirty."

Polly Spot is shocked now. "Yeah, that is WAY to young to live for that short of time."

"What happened to him?" Life Seal asks.

"Nails. I-I need not talk further about him."

"Okay. Sorry about that."

"'tis fine. I apologize that you go through such a monstrosity."

The three hug again, all of them tearing up.

I hath been stumbled on much of the vocabulary hither in Equestria until I taketh a look at it this morn. It feeleth as if it were an entirely new language. I learned not just a concept today. I shall try this once by translating.

"I've fumbled on a lot of the vocabulary here in Equestria until I took a look at it this morning. It felt like it was a different language altogether. I learned more than one thing today though. I'll do this in translation."

That was far difficult I shall say. It taketh half of sixty minutes to translate this previous line. 'twill not take that long to interpret soon. On a second hoof, many of the pegasi hither in Equestria callest this "camp" the Pegasus Khurbn. I hast no idea how the Pegasus Khurbn works, howe'er, I will within time. Life Seal and Polly Spot hath not read of what I write. They shall be pleasantly shaken by my efforts.

At the first afternoon, Vile Soil sets down her journal.

"Life Seal! Polly Spot! Come hither!"

Instantly, the two ponies appear.

"May you look at what I hath written."

Life Seal walks up to the journal opening to today.

"'I hath been stumbled'- what... how can you side with such a-"

"Take a view at the translation of that line thou hath started."

"Oh, here it is. 'I've fumbled on a lot of the vocabulary here in Equestria until I took a look at it this morning. It felt like it was a different language altogether. I learned more than one thing today though. I'll do this in translation.' Whoa! Vile! Did you actually write this?!?"

"Indeed, Life Seal."

"Wow! How long did it take you?"

"Thirty minutes."

"Oh, I see. You're getting used to our way of speaking," Polly Spot says.

"Indeed so."

"Well, it's a good thing you're learning that. I don't think anypony would understand you if you didn't, but only at worst."

"Thank you for sharing that with us. If you were actually looking into learning, you could've just come to Life Seal and I. We'd be more than happy to teach you. I actually have been looking to nailing the royal speech. Well, if you need us, we'll be down the hall."

Life Seal and Polly Spot proceed to exit Vile's room leaving her to whatever she needed to do.
