The Promise

It was a warm summers night. The air was full of the sounds of ponies trotting along the sidewalks below. It was a peaceful night in Manehattan. Well that was the case for most ponies. On the rooftop look-out over the busy city sat Wind Charm and Babs Seed. The two had been friends since they were foals, and were always together. They knew almost everything about each other.

Babs Could tell there was something wrong with her friend as she watched him stare blankly at the night sky, his long silver mane flowing in the wind. His green eyes didn't have the shimmer that they normally had. Instead she could see a tear forming in his eye.

Babs was not used to seeing him like this. Normally he was so full of life and energy. But tonight he seemed so distant. She knew she had to get to the bottom of this. She hated to see her best friend hurt.

She scooted in close to him and put a hoof around him. His gaze broke from the sky and turned towards her, tears now flowing from his eyes.

“Hey what’s wrong, Wind Charm?” Babs asked, concerned for her friend.

He then turned his head down towards the roof they were sitting on, tears trickling off his tiny muzzle.

“Babs, I have something very important to tell you.” He said in an unsteady tone. “But, you have to promise me you will still be my friend after I tell you this.” He said looking back at her with a distressed look on his face.

Babs placed her hoof on his cheek. “Nothing you could tell me would make me think any less of you,” she said with a smile on her face.

Wind Charm took a deep breath and looked back out at the city, finding it hard to look at Babs, feeling kind of ashamed of what he was fixing to say.

“Babs,” he said with a pause. “I am a filly trapped in a colts body”

Babs was a bit taken aback by this. If it were not for the tears now rolling from her friends eyes she would have thought that he was pulling her leg. But the fact remained that he was telling her the truth.

He continued on, “I have always known I was like this and I have tried to hide it.

“But I can't do it any more,” he said, slamming his hoof down on the roof below.

Then it hit Babs. Memories started to flood her head. She could remember him drifting towards things that only fillies would like and then turning his back as if he was trying to avoid it... It all clicked at once.

Babs quickly pulled him into an embrace. “It's okay Charm. I accept you for who you are and I always will,” she said looking into his eyes. “I will always be by your side and promise to protect you from those who may try to hurt you.”

She watched as the sparkle returned to his eyes, as he hugged her tightly. “I am so lucky to have a friend like you,” he said with a smile on his face. But that then faded again.

“That's why I need your help Babs,” he said, looking her dead in the face, his tone now more serious. And his body began to shake.

“Babs I need you come with me tonight, and be there for me while I tell my parents,” tears once again pouring from his eyes. Babs even found herself starting to tear up. And she was normally the tougher of the two!

“I'll be there for you if you need me. And I'll be your barrier if things start to go south,” she said with a smile. But behind that smile was the knowledge of what his parents were like.

His father was one the heads of the royal guard, and was feared by most. He had a nasty reputation for beating ponies that showed any signs of weakness—Wind Charm being on the receiving end a couple of times—and his mother worked for the Mayor of Manehatten, and was a well known public figure.

She was brought back to her senses by Wind Charm hugging her tightly. She felt a tear roll down her cheek. She was so happy she could be there for him in his time of need. She would do anything for him. Even jump off the roof if it meant saving his life.

They soon broke from their hold. “Let’s just stay up here a bit longer, Babs,” said Wind Charm as he laid back and stared at the night sky.

“Okay” Babs said as she rested her head on his belly.

…..................................................................................................................................................................

Soon the moon was high in the sky, and the city below was starting to calm down. This was always the best time to be outside because the city would begin to shut down. And with that, the lights down below would dim and the night sky would become ever more visible.

Babs felt Wind Charm move and sat up. Wind Charm Stood up and stretched and looked at the door leading down into the lower apartments. Babs got up and put a hoof around his neck. “I am ready any time you are,” she said with a slight nuzzle.

“I'm ready.” said Wind Charm as he started walking towards the door. Babs following close behind.

Before they knew it, they were standing at the door of Wind Charm’s apartment. Babs looked over at Wind Charm. “If this goes bad. I want you to promise me you will do something for me. No matter what,” Babs said with a concerned look on her face.

“Sure, anything Babs. What do you want me to do?” Wind Charm asked.

“If this goes bad, I want you to run from here and head towards Ponyville. I have family down there and they will take good care of ya. They won’t judge you for being the way you are. Just look for Sweet Apple Acres. There you will find Applejack and my cousin Apple Bloom. You can trust them I promise.” Charm could see the serious look on Babs face and knew she meant business.

“I promise, Babs,” he said in an unsteady voice.

“Good. I promise I won’t let you get hurt. So, if I tell you to run, you got to promise me you will run and not look back. PROMISE ME!” she said with tears in her eyes.

“I promise,” said charm.

Wind Charm and Babs stood in front of Charms Apartment. Wind Charm hesitating to open the door. He could feel every part of him self shaking. He could hear his own heart beat. Never had he been so nervous in his life.

Babs watched as her friend just stared at the door. His expression said it all. She watched as his lips quivered and tears slowly formed in his eyes. “He is not going to be able to do this. If I don't help.” she thought to her self.

Babs slowly brought her hoof up and wiped the tear off his cheek. This must have startled him. Cause he jumped back with his eyes wide. His breathing was heavy. She needed to to something to calm him down. And quick.

“What do I do?” she thought to her self. Looking at her friend. Desperately looking for a way to break the tension in the air. Then the idea hit her. “I never thought I would do this at such a odd time, But I guess now is a better time than any.” Babs said as she slowly came towards Charm.

Her pulse quickened. She found her self starting to shake. But not with fear, but with nervousness. Facing him she placed her hoof on his cheek and slowly moved her muzzle in closer and closer.

Charm was to busy having a complete meltdown. That he didn't even notice what his friend was doing. “I can't do this. I can't do this.” he thought to him self. “Why me..........” His thought cut of by the feeling of Bab's lips pressing against his. He started to pull away, but found that he couldn't.

This was a feeling he had never felt before. So many emotions began rushing around in his head. Only to met with confusion and a sense of peace.

Falling back onto his hind quarters he closed his eyes and began to return the kiss. He never thought he would be kissing his best friend in the whole world. He didn't even know he had those kind of feeling for her.

He began to enjoy himself. Then Babs pulled away. His eyes opened slowly to see Babs staring back at him. Blushing bright red. Almost matching the color of her mane. Her eyes started looking off to the side. “I had to do something to calm you down. You were starting to scare me.”

Charm got back on his hoofs and walked over to Babs, and drew her into a hug. This time taking Babs by shock. The two stood there for a moment. In each others embrace, before letting go. “Thanks Babs. I needed that.” Charm said before turning his attention back towards the door.

Walking up to the door. Charm found him self determined to see this through. There was no way he was going to back down now. He placed his hoof on the door handle and pulled it downward, causing the door to open.

The door opened to a empty hallway with a light coming from a room half way down. This was the living room. Where Charms parents spent most their time at night. Charm normally just walked right past it and went strait for his room at the end of the hall. But tonight he had a mission.

Babs followed close behind Charm as he started to walk down the hall way. She could feel her gut tighten. She had a very uneasy feeling about what was fixing to happen. She about ran back out the door. When she heard his dad start yelling about something he was reading in the news paper.

Charm rounded the corner with Babs right behind him. Both his mom and dad. Were too preoccupied reading and talking to each other to even pay any attention to their son that had just walked into the room.

“Mom, Dad, can I talk to you?” Charm said in a shaky voice. Both of them didn't even bother looking up from what they were reading. “Mom, Dad, I need to talk to you.” This time almost screaming while saying it.

Charms parents looked up. Both with a hint of anger in their eyes.

“What in the name of Celestia do you want now shrimp?” His dad said. Sounding very agitated. His mom not really one for words just stared at him like he was a worthless dog. Babs could tell that there was no love in this house. It felt very cold and she had felt kind sick since she first set hoof in the door way.

“I....I....I.....” Charm said before getting interrupted by his father. “Well out with it already. Before I beat you for wasting my time.” His father said in a cruel raspy voice.

“I'M A FILLY IN A COLTS BODY!!!” Charmed screamed with tears in his eyes.

The room went silent. Both his parents just looked at each other in shock for a moment. His father then raised his hoof high in the air. Then slammed it down on the table in front of him. Breaking it in two. Pieces of wood flying all over the room..

“You mean to tell me I have been raising a bucking sissy all this time.” Said his father. His eyes wide open and slobber starting to come out the mouth. Looking like a rabid pony. “I am going to beat the sissy right of you. You little sissy.” He said starting to charge his son. While his mother just watched this go down.

The ground shook beneath them as the big stallion raced across the room. Wind Charms face was now white. And he was shacking in fear. Getting ready to receive the beating of his life.

Just as his father was fixing to hit him. Babs pushed in aside. Taking the full blow of his head in her chest. Sending her tumbling back and hitting the wall behind her. She want to get up and felt a sharp pain were she had just been hit.

But she was quick to forget about that as she saw his father take his hoof and smack Charm across the face. Send him flying against the same wall right next to Babs. Babs was quick to inspect her friend. Charm sat there holding the side of his head. You could see blood running down his cheek.

Babs heard Charms father taking another run towards them. She instantly pushed him as hard as she could out of the way of his ram. Again taking the full blow of his head. Charm watched as Babs slid down the wall. And landed on the floor.

Holding her side she looked over at Wind Charm, “RUN!!!! I will hold him back.” Babs screamed.

Staying true to his word he bolted out the door. Trying to put as much distance between him and his father as possible.

His vision impaired by the blood running into his eyes. And his head hurting feeling like somepony had hit him with a hammer. But all he could think of was getting out of that building. He had made a promise to Babs. And he was not going to let her down. He was going to make it to Ponville. Were he could be safe. While hoping that Babs would make it out of there in one piece.

Back at the apartment. Babs was trying her best to hold off Charms father. Every time she would get knocked down. She would stagger to her hoofs again and charge Charms father. That was until he made on final lunge at her. Hitting her in the chest again. She heard a loud crack and a very sharp pain then everything went dark.

Finding My True Self

Wind Charm was running as fast as his little legs would take him. His head was clouded with the memories of the events that just took place. Charm couldn't help but worry about Babs. “I hope she is ok. She was getting pretty beat up when she told me to run” he thought to himself, as tears began to form.

His vision was becoming blurry. A mix of blood and tears in his eyes made it very hard to see. He stopped to try to wipe his eyes clean. After a few rubs with his hoof he took a look around to see where he was.

He found himself on a dirt path on the outskirts of the big city. He could see the city lights behind him. Bright enough to block out the stars in the night sky. Looking forward he spotted a old tree. Beneath it the ground was full of lush green grass. And a bench with three hearts carved into the back of it.

“I better rest for a few minutes.” He thought to himself. As he approached the bench he heard what sound like thunder rolling down the path. Looking towards the city. He saw a huge figure running his was. “Im going to kill you, you little shit” A voice said echoing through the air. The voice made his churn, and his bones ache. His father had found him.

Charm turned to run, he felt a sharp pain in his ankle. And collapsed to the cold hard ground beneath him. He watched as his father got ever closer with each passing moment. Charm managed to make it to his hooves. Only being able to limp slowly towards the tree.

Charm could hear his father getting ever closer. He turned his head to see how close his father was. Only to be met by a hoof in his face. Sending him into the ground. His head scraped against the dirt and rock below. He could feel the blood trickle down the side of his head, as he tried to get back up.

As soon as he was upright again. He was met with a sharp kick to his side. The kick sent him into the large old tree. Removing the bark where he hit. Charm laid there gasping for air and coughing up blood. His vision became blurry, and there was a loud ringing in his ears.

“This is it.” Charm thought to himself as he watched a blurry image of his father walk ever closer.

“Say goodbye you little shit!” Charms father said as he lifted up for one last blow.

The sky lit up with lightning, and a loud voice rained down from above. “Stop right there Brute Force!” Yelled the voice. Brute Force stopped and turned to see Princess Luna coming out of the clouds and landing just a few feet from him.

“I shall not let you take the life of this innocent filly!” Luna said, with a thundering voice. “Mind your own business princess!” He said with a evil tone. “I will not raise such a sissy little colt. He is weak and deserves to die.” His eyes now glazed over in rage.

Luna’s eyes turned pure white as her horn lit up. The winds picked up, and the clouds above began to form a vortex. “You have made a grave mistake Brute Force. You have harmed not one, but two of my children of the night. I shall see to it that you never see the light of my sisters sun ever again!”

Brute Force found himself trapped in a magical field. His body unable to more. The more he tried to move the grip of the magic tightened around him. “You will pay for this you stupid bitch.” Brute Force said, as he was being lifted into the sky.

“No Brute Force, it is you who shall pay!” Said Luna as her voice grew louder. “Say hello to Cerberus for me.” She said with a grin on her face, as she lifted Brute Force into the vortex above.

Wind Charm watched as Luna lifted his father high into the clouds. His vision blurry from the blood that was running down his face. From the cuts and scrapes on his head. The sky flashed with a bright light. And his father was gone.

Wind Charm coughed and blood covered the ground in front of him. He began to feel dizzy. Then he felt a sudden warmth come over him, as he felt himself being lifted into the air.

Luna brought him up to her. Her once rage filled eyes, now showing the look of concern as she brought him ever closer. “Dear Wind Charm I wish i could have made here a little bit sooner.” A single tear fell from her face. “I can help with the major injuries, but the minor ones must heal on their own,” she said as her horn lit up with a light blue glow.

Charm watch as Luna placed her horn to his chest. He felt as all the pain that was coming from his insides slowly faded away. A feeling of warmth and calmness fell over him as everything turned black.

Out of the darkness came a light. And from that light came Princess Luna. Charm watched in awe. As the princess approached him. “How do you feel Wind Charm?” She asked. Her voice showing signs of concern for him. “I feel good.” Replied Wind Charm. “But where are we?” He asked.

“We are in my realm. The land of dreams.” Said the princess. “The land of dreams?” Said Charm in a puzzled tone. “So that must mean that I'm asleep” Princess luna smiled. “ Yes my child you are sleeping. I had to put you to sleep so my magic could heal your broken bones.”

Charm looked down. “Thank princess for saving me, but I really wish i could helped out my friend. She fought off my father so I could run away.” Tears were now rolling down his face.

“Ah yes your friend. Said Luna. “You need not worry about her my little filly. For it was her that alerted me to what was happening.” Charm looked up at the princess. “So Babs is ok? He asked. “Her body was badly beaten, but she will be ok.” Luna pulled Charm into a hug.

Charm pulled away, and looked at the princess in a puzzled look. “Wait did you call me a filly?” Luna let out a laugh. “Why yes I did young one. You are a filly, are you not?” Charm looked down. “I wish I was, but my body is a colts body. I feel like a filly on the inside. If only my outside matched.”

Luna placed her hoof on Charms chin. Charm looked up to look her in the face. “Now now young one. You still have much to learn. You say you have a colts body but you feel like a filly.” Luna turned away from Charm and looked up. “You need to stop viewing yourself as what you're not, but view yourself as what you are.”

“I don’t understand Luna.” Charm said. “What do you mean by viewing myself as what I am.”

Luna let out another giggle, and her horn glowed. A mirror the appeared in front of Charm. “Look into the mirror and tell me what you see.” Charm looked into the mirror and dropped his head. “Luna all I see is a Colt looking back at me. I don’t see a cute little filly, like iI would like to.” Luna got down beside him, and looked into the mirror as well. “You are looking at it all wrong. Because what I see is a very cute and very pretty little filly.”

Charm looked at Luna in confusion. “Close your eyes and listen to your heart, not your mind. If you block out what your heart is telling you. You will only see a colt. But if you listen to your heart. You will see the Cute little filly that I am looking at, And so will everypony else.”

Charm looked back at the mirror. The little colt looking back at him. Seemed to be mocking him. “That is not me.” He thought to himself. Charm then closed his eyes. “In order to truly listen to your heart, you must clear your mind. And you will find the way.” Luna said while watching Charm. She hoped that he could see the little filly that she was looking at. “He must find the path on his own. I can not interfere now.” She thought to herself.

Charm sat there. His mind was racing. “I have to calm down.” he thought. He took a deep breath. Then another, then another, and continued to do this until he found himself at peace. It was a feeling he had never felt before.

“Okay. She told me to listen to my heart. But how?” He thought to himself. He sat there. Not a single thought in his head. He concentrated on listening. He did not know what he was going to hear. But he was determined to hear something.

A few moments passed. Charm was starting to give up hope. Then he heard it. A faint little voice coming from behind him. He turned to see a small figure in the distance waving at him. “Charm.” The voice called. He started walking towards the figure. With every step he could hear the voice getting louder. He started to run, wanting to see the figure this voice was coming from. “Hurry Charm, I want you to meet me.” The voice said.

The figure seemed to get bigger as he got closer and closer. It was almost his size now. He was getting excited. He was almost there. Just then a door appeared in from of him. The door was a bright purple in color. There was butterfly's and flowers decorating it.

He could hear the voice calling to him from the other side. “Open the door and play with me.” the voice said. Charm raised his hoof up to the door and gave a small push. The door slowly opened and a bright white light flashed before him. Charm could not see a thing.

His vision slowly started coming back to him. A figure in the shape of a pony started to
come into view. It was just a shadow at first. Then he saw color start to appear. Then the ponies features. What he saw before him, was a little filly with a long silver flowing mane, a light grey coat that shown in the light, and big purple eyes with a hint of pink. Then the little filly spoke.

“You finally found me. It’s about time.” She said with a giggle. Charm looked at her in shock. “Who are you?” he asked. She giggled again. “Why I’m you, you silly little goose.” She said with a smile. “You can’t be. I’m just a ugly little colt.” She laughed again. “ I have no idea what you are talking about. Here look for yourself.” She said as a mirror appeared in front of him.

He looked in the mirror, and could not believe what he was seeing. He saw the same little filly looking back at him. Every move he made the little filly mimicked him. He turned his head to look at his body. His body was just the same as the filly’s. Charm looked back in front of himself to see that the mirror had vanished and the filly was standing there instead.

“Are you ready to play with me now?” Asked the filly. Charm looked at her. “I am ready to play.” He said as he reached is hoof out to her. She raised her hoof and the met midway. When they touched, the filly shown a bright white. “Yay I’m glad, I have been waiting a long time to play with you.” She said as her body seemed to turn transparent and enter his own.

Charm felt warm, he felt like there was no longer something missing. Everything started getting bright again. Then charm felt a hoof resting on his shoulder. He turned to see Princess Luna standing over him. “Did you find yourself?” she asked. Charm looked forward into the mirror, and saw that he was still that little filly. He was now a she. A smile came across Charms face. “I did princess. I did find myself.”

“That is good my little filly. But I must warn you. When you awaken your body will still be that of a colt. But you will be able to see yourself as a filly and so will everypony around you.” Luna then put her hoof on Charms head. “You must continue to believe in yourself.” And one day you may have the body you desire. But only when the time is right.”

“Thank you princess for showing me, what I needed to see.” said Charm. Luna Smiled. One more thing young one. When you awake. Your body is still quite injured but you are close to your destination. Make it there and they shall take care of the rest.” Said Luna as she began to fade away. “Goodbye my child.” Good bye princess” said Charm as everything became dark.

Charms Eyes fluttered open as she awoke from her slumber. She was not where she was attacked last night. She was on a bench next to a archway. Charm looked up and saw a sign. It read. *Sweet Apple Acres* A smile came over her face. Luna had left her right where Bab’s was telling her to go.

She took a step off of the bench, and felt a pain come from her hoof. She was still injured. But not as bad as she was last night. Charm made her way off the bench and started down the pathway into Sweet Apple Acres. Every step she took hurt. She found she could only just limp. “I guess Luna just healed the major Injuries.” she thought to herself. Taking note of the pain that still lingered throughout her small body.

She was becoming very tired. But was determined to make it to the farm as she walked over a hilltop. Spotting the farm in the distance. She could smell the scent of fresh Apples. The scent flooded her nose. She could even taste it. She continued to limp her way towards the farm.

A pony with a orange coat and a yellow mane, wearing a cowgirl hat caught her eye in the distance. The pony spotted her and started walking her way. “Hey little filly are ya lost?” yelled the farm pony. Charm tried to say something but she didn’t have the energy and collapsed. The last thing she heard was the pony screaming. “Big Mac, Apple Bloom, get out here quick. This little filly needs help.

A Mothers Love

Charm awoke to the sounds of hooves trotting around on a wood floor. She looked over and saw a old green pony asleep on a chair, beside the bed she was on. Looking back at the ceiling she tried to recall how she ended up here. All she could remember was seeing the farm in the distance, then all turning black.

Charm tried to sit up in the bed, but a pain shot through her that caused her to yelp in pain. The old green pony woke up and looked at her. “Be still there youngin. You're hurt and shouldn't be moving.” Said the old pony. Charm looked away from the old pony. The only thing she could think of was Babs. The last time she saw her. She was getting beat to death by her dad.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of hooves racing up the stairs. She turned quickly to see a young filly running into the room, and a voice coming from below. “Apple Bloom I told you not to run up the stairs. You might wake out guest.” Apple Bloom turned around and poked her head out the door. “I didn’t wake her, she is already awake.”

Charm then heard a second set of hooves making their way up the stairs. It was the farm pony she saw right before she blacked out. “Well i’ll be. Looks like you’re awake.” said the farm pony as she came closer.

“Ya really gave us a scare back there.” she said putting a hoof on Charms shoulder.”i
know ya must be wonderin where you are at.” The farm pony paused and took a few steps towards the window. “You are at Sweet Apple Acres, and I’m Apple Jack. This pony over on the rocker is Granny Smith, And this little filly here is Apple Bloom.”

Charm’s eyes got wide. She had made it, she was safe. A smile came across her face as a small tear rolled down her cheek. “I made it,” Charm said in a slight whisper. “What was that now? Apple Jack asked while looking at her.

“I made it, I made it here, Charm said again. This time loud enough for Apple Jack to hear. Apple Jack looked down at Charm, puzzled as to why she said what she did. “Wait a minute what do you mean by, you made it here.”

The reality of the situation struck Charm like a brick in the face. These ponies had no clue why she was here. And why she was in the condition that she was in. Charm turned her head back to the side and took a deep breath. She felt a slight pain in her chest, But ignored it.

“I’m sorry to intrude on you like this. But my friend Babs said this was the place I should go to.” Charm said with tears now rolling out her eyes. “You know Babs?” Apple Bloom said from the corner of the bed. Her eyes were wide with excitement. Somehow ignoring the fact that Charm was crying.

Charm took yet another deep breath, before continuing. She looked at Apple Bloom. Her lips beginning to quiver. “She saved my life, and told me to come here.” Charm looked away from Apple Bloom and back towards Apple Jack. “She protected me from my father, and is hurt really bad.” Charms voice got louder and she found herself yelling. “She told me to run, and not look back. She made me promise not to look back!!!” Charm was now sobbing uncontrollably.

Apple Jack was quick to race to her side and hold her tightly. “It’s alright Sugar Cube. Your
safe, Ain't nopony gonna hurt you here.” Apple Jack said, trying to calm her. “Babs is hurt and its all my fault.” Charm said in between sobs.

Apple Jack looked Charm in the face, Her face took on a serious expression. “Now wait just a minute. I don’t want you to go blamin yourself for this. Babs was protecting you, and if she knew you was blaming yourself. She would feel down right terrible.” Apple Jacks eyes then gave a comforting look. “Babs will be alright, trust me.” Something about the way Apple Jack said that. Made Charm feel a warmth inside her. That she had not felt in a long time.

Apple Jack held charm for awhile, until she noticed that the young filly had fell asleep. Slowly she lowered charm back down onto the bed and covered her up. She kissed charm on the forehead and turned towards Apple Bloom.

“I know you are probably worried about Babs, but I need you to stay strong right now.
Charm needs a friend that will be there for her, and one that she can trust. Can you do that for me Apple Bloom?” asked Apple Jack.

Apple Bloom looked at her sis. A few tears had formed in her eyes, and she was on the brink of crying herself. She took her hoof and wiped away the tears. She nodded her head. “I can do that for ya sis. She will feel like family in no time.” Apple Bloom Said with a smile now beaming across her face.

Apple Jack looked down upon Charm as she slept. Charm was now resting peacefully. She could tell that the little filly felt safe here. “I reckon we have a new member of the family, but I can't help to wonder what made her father beat her like that.” Apple Jack thought to herself before turning to leave the room. “Apple Bloom, I want you to watch her for awhile. I think she would feel better if somepony was here when she woke up.”

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………

3 days had now passed and Charm was starting to get restless in her bed. It had almost became a prison for her. If it had not been for Apple Bloom and her friends and trips to the bathroom, she would have went insane by now.

Charm was looking out the window at the apple orchard in distance. It looked so beautiful, and when the winds would shift in her favor, she could smell it. The aroma was intoxicating. She longed to be able to walk through the orchard. A bird could be heard outside chirping away. It sounded so happy. Then something else caught her attention. The voice of somepony singing along with it. It was heaven in her ears. The amazing part was, is that the two seemed to be doing a sort of duet.

Charm smiled and put her hooves over her head and stretched. She began to hum along with her the best she could. She was lost in her own little world, only to be snapped out of it by Apple Bloom barging into the room with breakfast.

“Does this filly only know one pace.” Charm thought to herself.

“Good morning Charm. How are you today?” said Apple Bloom placing the breakfast on Charms lap. “I’m ok, I was just listening to somepony singing outside. Her voice was amazing.” Charm said with a grin on her face.

“Oh that was Fluttershy. She came by with some medicine for you.” Said Apple Bloom.
Charm looked at her with a grimace. She shuttered at the thought of having to take more medicine. “Do I really have to take more of that yucky stuff?” Charm asked while sticking her tongue out in disgust.

“Apple Jack says you have to take your medicine. If you don’t then it will take longer for you to heal.” said Apple Bloom. Charm looked down, and gave a heavy sigh. “I guess you’re right. i’m so tired of being in this bed. If I don’t get out soon. I’m going to climb the walls!!!” Charm said throwing her hooves up in aggravation.” Don’t worry, you will out of that bed before you know it.” Apple Bloom said with a wink as she turned to leave the room.

Charm just sat there for awhile and ate her breakfast. Apple pancakes with oat meal. “If there is one thing these ponies can do, it’s cook.” She thought to herself. Then a sound of hooves coming up the stairs caught her attention. These were not the hooves she was used to hearing. This pony stepped with caring and grace.

This was somepony she had yet to meet. She listened as the hoof steps got closer and
closer. Until she saw a yellow pony with a long pink mane slowly bring her head around the corner. Charm looked at her for a moment.

“Oh my goodness!!! You poor poor filly.” Said the yellow pony now darting over to her. Charm did not have time to react before she was pulled into a hug. Charm was in a slight state of shock. She was not used to this kind of attention. The yellow pony pulled away and started looking her over.

“Oh my. Apple Jack said you were hurt. But she didn’t tell me how bad it was. You poor little dear.” She said patting Charm’s head. She then put her hoof under Charms chin. “Don’t you worry Fluttershy is here to make you all better.” Fluttershy said staring deeply into Charms eyes.

Charm felt a warmth in her chest, as she looked into Fluttershy’s eyes. She could see that
she really did care for her. Even though she only just met her. She felt like she could really trust her. A small smile formed on Charms face.

Fluttershy brought her back into a hug. Charm could feel her soft fur against her head. She could hear her breath, and hear the beautiful rhythm of her heart. She felt safe and secure. Almost like she was a tiny foal being held by her mother. “Now tell me what happened to you.” Fluttershy said. She could feel Charms grip tighten. She could tell this was not going to be a pleasant story.

Charm let out a heavy sigh. Fluttershy could feel her fur getting a little damp. Charm was softly crying when she began to speak through the sobs.

“I always felt like I was different. I knew something was not right. I figured it out a few
years ago, but was afraid to tell anypony.” Charm said as she pulled away, wiping the tears from her eyes. “I felt like a filly. Even though I have a colts body. I knew I was really a filly on the inside.” Charm turned her head towards the open window letting a small breeze hit her in the face. It felt so calming. And allowed her to think strait.

“A few days ago. I told my friend Babs about me. She told me she would be there for me no matter what. Then I told her I was going to tell my parents. Even though I was scared.” Charm turned back towards Fluttershy a few tears still rolling from her eyes. But this time there was a small smile on her face.

“She told me. She would protect me if my parents flipped out.” Her smile faded again, as she began to hug Fluttershy again. “She saved me from my father. By throwing herself at him over and over again.” She was now sobbing heavily into Fluttershy’s chest. “She told me to run and I did. She was only able to hold him off long enough for me to get out of Manehatten. My father caught up to me, and started beating me badly.” Charm pulled away from Fluttershy again.

“If Princess Luna hadn’t shown up. I would be dead. He was going to kill me.” Charm
Looked down and put her hooves over her eyes. “My own father was going to kill me. My own father.

Fluttershy found herself starting to cry as well. She pulled Charm back into a deep embrace and started to stroke her mane. “Don’t worry, No pony is going to hurt you now.” Fluttershy said as she began to rock back and forth. She then began to hum softly. This had a calming effect on Charm. She felt like a hole that was inside her was just filled. “So this is what its like to have a real mom.” She thought to herself.

Charm looked up at Fluttershy with big tear filled eyes. Fluttershy met her gaze. “Can I
ask you something?” Charm asked. Fluttershy smiled. “Of course you can.” Charm looked at her for only a moment more before asking. “Would you be my mommy?”

Fluttershy was taken back by the little fillies question, but was now about to upset her. Fluttershy squeezed Charm tightly. “Yes I will, I will be your mommy. Fluttershy said as the two shared and long embrace. Not knowing that Apple Jack and Apple Bloom both were on the other side of the wall crying their eyes out. After listening to the conversation.

New found family

The days all seemed to be running together now. Charm had lost track of how long she had been in the bed. All she knew is that she could not take much more of it. Every attempt she had made at getting out of the bed on her own, Had been met with Apple Jack scalding her.

“Now don’t you fret youngin, you will be up and about in no time.” Apple Jack said every time she started to get restless.

She had found a sense of comfort would come, when Fluttershy would come up for her daily visits. It felt nice to be held, and snuggle up to her warm chest and listen to Fluttershy’s heart beat. Something she never got to do with her actual mother.

Apple Bloom had brought her a newspaper up a few days ago. The paper contained a article on her parents. It stated that her mother and father were both imprisoned for foal abuse and neglect. Also they were awaiting a trial that Princess Celestia was going to oversee her self. Thinking of the events that happened that night would always make her body ache.

Babs on the other hoof was also still bedridden. Her injuries far greater than Charm’s. Apple Bloom and Big Mac had been up to visit her. They told Charm that she was still in rough shape, but was in good spirits knowing her best friend was safe. Also told her, that she would be coming down to see her as soon as she was released from the hospital. Charm couldn't help but feel as though she was responsible for what happened to Bab’s. In a roundabout way she kinda was, she thought.

She was about to start crying again, when she heard hoof steps coming up the stairs. She quickly wiped the wetness from her eyes and stared at the door. Apple Bloom came through the door with a big smile plastered on her face. Followed by Apple Jack. “I got a surprise for ya Charm” Apple Jack said, then motioned to Apple Bloom. Apple Bloom then jumped up onto the bed and grabbed the sheets in her mouth and yanked them off Charm. “ You're getting out of bed today.” She yelled while a Big Bang and a cloud of confetti come bursting through the door. Scaring the life out of every pony.

“Getting out of bed party!!!” A pink pony with a big pink fluffy mane yelled, as she came running into the room. “Pinkie Pie, what in tarnation are you doing?” Apple Jack yelled. Pinkie Pie took in a large breath of air. “Well I am here to throw Charm a getting out of bed party, cause she has been stuck in bed for sooooo long and has been soooo bored. That she was starting to get sad. And I am really good at making sad ponies happy. So I thought what better way to make her happy, than to throw her a getting out of bed party. Since I have never did one of those before.” All of them just stared at Pinkie. Then Apple Jack spoke up. “Just how did you know that she was getting out of bed today?” Asked Apple Jack with a confused look on her face. Knowing she didn't mention this to Pinkie Pie for this exact reason.

“Just a hunch.” She replied while bouncing around the room. Apple Jack slammed her hoof onto her face. “Pinkie there will be no party today. Charm here, is not ready for that yet.” Pinkie stopped while still in the air, her hair went flat and she slowly drifted back to the ground. “Oh ok Apple Jack I won't throw a party.” She said as she turned towards the door with her ears laid back and her head down.

Apple Jack sighed. “Ok Pinkie you can throw her a party next week.” Pinkies hair suddenly popped back into shape, and she let out a excited yell. “Okie Dokie Lokie, I will throw her the best getting out of bed party ever.” Said Pinkie as she walked out of the room humming a tune. “I swear that pony always shows up and the strangest times.” Said Apple Jack with a chuckle while rolling her eyes.

“Ok then, how about we get you out of that bed and onto your own hooves.” Said Apple Jack with a smile. Charm looked at Apple Bloom. “Sounds like fun, but Apple Bloom could you get off my tail first?” Apple Bloom quickly jumped back and scratched her head. “Hehe. Sorry about that.” She said with a slight blush.

Charm sat up in her bed and started inching towards the edge of the bed. She felt so excited to finally be able to leave this bed. But she was also kinda nervous. It had been weeks since she had really set hoof on solid ground. Other than the times she was took to the bathroom by Apple Jack to do her buisness and take a bath. And then she was practically carried there. So she was not sure how her legs would hold up order her.

Apple Jack moved to one side of her while Apple Bloom got the other side. Charm decided it would be best if she backed off, instead of going forward. “I would rather fall on my rump than my face.” She thought to herself. Apple Jack watched as Charm lowered her back legs towards the ground. Standing ready just in case she had to catch Charm.

Her hooves touched ground and she slowly let her weight come down oh them. She found herself a bit unstable, But Apple Jack was quick to lend a hoof. She stayed like that for a moment until she felt she had her bearings again. Slowly she started bringing her front hooves towards the ground. Apple Jack had placed her leg under her to help support her weight. Once both hooves were on the ground she stood there. Her legs were unsteady, and shaking a bit. Her breathing got heavy. She was afraid her legs would give at any moment.

Apple Bloom took notice of this and decided she needed to get her attention away from her legs. “So Charm what is the first thing you want to do to try to get your cutie mark?” Apple Bloom asked. Charm looked over at Apple Bloom. “I don’t know. I have never really been good at anything.” Charm said as her ears lowered. “Well then, I guess I will have to help you.” Apple Bloom said with a big smile. “Apple Bloom I don’t think now is the time for th……..” Apple Jack was cut off by Charm quickly turning to face Apple Bloom. “Really!!! You would help me find something I am good at” Charm said. Forgetting that she was scared to death just a few seconds prior. “Why of course I would Charm. What are friends for?” Charm started to tear up then quickly lept to give Apple Bloom a hug. “Thank you thank you thank you.” Charm said cheerfully while hugging Apple Bloom. Apple Jack just stood there with her mouth open, only to see Apple Bloom give a wink. “Well I guess that was all she needed.” Apple Jack thought to herself, while giving a slight chuckle.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The day continued on with Apple Jack and Apple Bloom helping charm out around the house. Making sure that she could get around on her own. The only issue she had was getting down the stairs. “Okay Charm just one hoof in front of the other. Don’t worry we won't let you fall.” Said Apple Jack as she was using her body to brace Charm. The few weeks in bed had took it toll on her leg muscles. They were weak and wobbly. Apple Jack would be sure to fix that with some chores around the farm. But that could wait a few more days. At least till Charm could get up and down the stairs on her own.

The sun was getting low in the sky, and Charm and Apple Bloom was sitting on the porch of the farmhouse. You could hear the birds off in the distance singing, and the crickets were starting to chirp. This was the first time she has been outside to hear it since she arrived here. She sat there with a relaxed smile on her face. This was something that she couldn't enjoy back in the city. The thoughts of the city brought terrible memories flooding back into her mind. She could still hear. The cries of Babs as she got beat by her dad. She felt a small tear roll down her cheek.

Apple Bloom was quick to pull her into a hug, and sat there while she cried into her chest. She knew she could never understand the pain that charm was feeling, but she made a promise to herself to be there for her whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on. She felt a warmth in her heart that she had never felt before. It was kinda weird, but she liked it. The two sat there until the sun disappeared over the horizon. “Ok girls it's time to come inside and grab a bite to eat.” Yelled Apple Jack from the kitchen. Charm had fallen asleep on Apple Bloom. She hated to wake her, but knew that Apple Jack was not known for her patience.

Apple Bloom gently nudged Charm, causing her to jump a little while waking from her short slumber. “What's going on?” Charm asked while rubbing the sleep from her eyes. “We had better go inside. Apple Jack just called us for dinner, and she don't like waiting.” Said Apple Bloom with a smirk. Charm slowly got up from her spot on the porch. Apple Bloom was right there making sure she didn't fall back down. Charm began to stretch, and a series of pops could be heard going down her spine. This made Apple Bloom cringe a bit. “I recon that felt pretty good, huh Charm.” Apple Jack said causing both the fillies to jump.

“Apple Jack you scared the life out of me.” Said Apple Bloom holding her hoof to her chest. “Hehe.” Apple Jack chuckled. “Sorry about that, but I heard your back popping all the way in the kitchen and just wanted to make sure you were ok.” Charm smiled. “I am ok Apple Jack. I guess my back and everything is just a bit sore from moving around all day.” Apple Jack chuckled again. “Well once you have dinner and get up stairs. I will bring you some of my special cider. Just don't tell Granny Smith, or she will have all of our hides. She might be old. But she can still put a hurtin on ya.” Said Apple Jack with a wink. “Hey what about me?” Apple Bloom asked. Her bottom lip just slightly pooched out. “Don’t ya worry Apple Bloom I got you covered too.” Apple Jack said before turning towards the house with the others in tow.

Dinner seemed to come and go for the two fillies. This was the first time they had really been able to enjoy each other's company, since Charm had arrived a few weeks ago. They shared stories back and forth. Even Apple Jack got in on the story telling. Even told some embarrassing ones on Apple Bloom. You would have thought Apple Bloom was going to turn into a Apple. With how red she got. Charm couldn't help but laugh. This was the most fun she’d had in forever.

Now they were sitting upstairs in Apple Bloom’s room waiting on Apple Jack to come up with the cider. They knew they were still too young to drink it. But Apple Jack was known let a glass or two slip by every now and then.

Soon the two heard hoof steps coming up the stairs towards the room. “I though that woman would never go to sleep.” Said Apple Jack while walking into the room with a tray with three glasses of cider balancing on her back. Apple Bloom looked at the cider. Charm could see her mouth drooling over it. “Is this stuff really that good?” She thought to herself. Apple Jack managed to slide the tray onto the nightstand beside Apple Bloom’s bed. The golden liquid inside swishing back and forth in the glasses creating a small foam. Charm was getting excited. This was the first time she was going to be allowed to partake in alcohol. Her mouth soon began to water as well.

All three gathered around the nightstand, taking the glasses in their hooves. Charm watched as the other two took a big gulp from their glasses. They then looked at her, as if to say. “Go ahead and drink up.” Charm did not want to upset them in any way. So she slowly brought the glass up to her mouth and began to pour the golden liquid into her mouth. She was hit with a taste like she has never tasted before. It tasted like fresh picked Apples with a hint of cinnamon, with a slight bitter taste. She then swallowed and felt a very slight burn as it slid down her throat.

Her eyes widened as she found she enjoyed this new found taste and couldn’t wait to drink more. She started to turn it up, and Apple Jack stopped her. “Whoa there youngin. You don’t want to drink this stuff fast, or you will wake up feeling worse than you did before you went to bed.” Charm blushed slightly and began taking small sips of the drink. “I had better listen to her.” She thought to herself.

They all sat there in the room enjoying each other's company. A new warmth formed in Charms heart, and she was certain it was not the cider. “Is this what it's like to have a family that cares about you?” She thought before taking another sip. Her glass now half gone, and her head starting to feel somewhat numb. Apple Jack decided that Charm and Apple Bloom should start rooming together. She saw no reason why the two couldn't stay together. She had caught Apple Bloom getting up to check on Charm quite often since she came here, and could tell she cared a lot about her.

Soon it was time for the girls to go to bed. Charm was fighting sleep. The effects of the cider taking it toll on her. Apple Jack stayed in the room until the girls were tucked in and well on there way to dream land. Apple Jack slowly walked out of the room and closed the door behind her. “Luna be with them in their dreams.” Apple Jack said to herself as she entered her room across the hall. She made her way to her bed and laid down, her mind finally at rest. “I think tomorrow I am going to go down to the court house and start the adoption papers, she will make a fine Apple.

Aunt Bloom

It was early morning and Apple Jack stood in line at the Court house waiting to fill out some forms for Charms adoption. She had made sure to be up and out of the house before the two fillies woke up. She did not want them to know what she had planned to do today. She had even kept it a secret from Apple Bloom. Though she had been talking to Twilight about it.

Thought there was going to be one compilation that she was worried about. The fact that Charm was still infact a colt. And knew that the official records would state just that. “All this happened just because she wanted to be who she really was. What a shame, no child should ever have to go through so much pain. And I couldn't imagine what it would be like to not have parents that love you no matter what. Sure my parents died when me and Apple Bloom was still young, but they love us none the less.” Apple Jack thought to herself.

She must have been completely lost in her own little world. She didn't even notice that it was her turn in line. “Mrs. Apple Jack, Mrs. Apple Jack, the pony behind the desk called out to her. Apple Jack snapped out of her daze, and quickly trotted up to the desk. “How can I help you today Mrs. Jack?” Asked the mare behind the desk.

Apple Jack looked at the mare for a moment. “I wish they would quit with the Mrs. Stuff.” She thought to herself. “Um yes I am here to fill out some adoption papers for the little filly that has been living with me for the last few weeks.”

“If I could just have the name of the little one Mrs. Jack and we can get things started.” The mare said in a snooty manner.

Apple Jack cringed at her tone. “Yes ma'am her name is Wind Charm.”

The mare then turned around to a massive shelve with tons of books lining it. Apple Jack watched as her horn glowed a bright yellow and a book came down in front of her, and opened to a specific page in the book. Her eyes got wide as she turned the book towards Apple Jack. “Mrs. Jack is this the pony in question?” She asked with a eye raised.

Apple Jack looked at the book. “Yes ma'am that is her.” Apple Jack said with a confident smile.

The mare cleared her throat. “Mrs. Jack I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but that so called filly is a colt.”

Apple Jacks face went red in anger and her eyes narrowed. She had only known Charm for a short time, but was not about to let that stuck up mare behind the desk tell her if Charm was a colt or filly. Although she knew that Charm was biologically a colt. “Now you listen here.” Apple Jack said in a firm tone. “You will not tell me that Charm is a colt. If she says she is a filly than she is a filly.” Apple Jack said in a very firm tone.

The mare laughed. “I think you need to put that little colt in a mental hospital. There is obviously something wrong with him. I mean what kinda colt would go around presenting himself as a filly. It is absolutely ludicrous.” The mare said laughing so hard she couldn't breathe.

Something in Apple Jack snapped. A anger that she had never felt before took over her body. Apple Jack raised up and her hind legs and slammed down on the mares desk. Destroying it, and sending shards of wood all over the floor.

The mare was now scrambling to get away from Apple Jack. She knew she had made a big mistake and was going to pay the price. She found herself against the wall. Cowering like a little puppy. While Apple Jack stood over her looking like she was getting ready to trample the mare.

Apple Jack raised a hoof to strike at the mare, and found it impossible to strike. She tried with all her might, but still found she couldn't move it. It was not until she saw the purple glow around her hoof that she realized what was happening. She turned her head and saw Twighlight standing there with her horn glowing, and tears in her eyes.

Twilight stood there couldn't believe what she was witnessing. Her best friend and most honest pony in Equestria was about to beat another pony. With her eyes watering she spoke. Apple Jack I can't believe what I am seeing. What in the name of Celestia are you doing? Why would you want to hurt this pony.” Tears were now flowing down her face.

Apple Jack then realized what she was doing. The anger had took control of her, she found herself confused, and upset with herself. Her ears lowered as she looked at Twilight in the face. She felt nothing but shame now. “I…. I'm sorry Twilight I don't know what came over me.” Apple Jack turned to look back at the other pony, that was now a nervous wreck on the floor. Apple Jack took a deep breath. “You see Twilight, she kept calling charm a colt, and it was upsetting me. She wouldn't listen to me, when I told her that Charm was a filly. I guess she just pushed me over the edge.” Apple Jack sat down and hung her head low.

Twilight just looked upon both ponies, and at this point. Both of them were in the wrong in some way or form. Twilights horn lit up again and the desk that was shattered was now once again standing in one piece. She gave a sigh.

“I am so disappointed in both you girls.” Twilight said with her head down. She then looked up and looked at Apple Jack. “I will have a long talk with you later, but right now there are more important matters at hand.” Twilight said looking at the other mare. “Sundrop Swirl I thought you were better than this. I can't believe, even after you were informs of Charms situation. That you would cause such a ruckus.” Sundrop backed away and her horn began to glow.

“But Twilight, it clearly shows that charm is a colt in the documents.” Sundrop said, as she levitated a open but towards Twilight.

Twilight took the book in her magic and began to look over it. Her eyerbrow raised as she scanned over its contents. Twilight glanced up and gave Apple Jack a wink. “I don't know what you are talking about Sundrop, It clearly says right here. That Wind Charm is a filly.” Twilight said as she levitated the book back to Sundrop.

Sundrop looked at the book, and her face turned red in anger. “You changed it, you donkey with wings!” Sundrop said, as she let out a large snort. “And you called yourself a bucking princess. HA! Don't make me laugh. You are so stuck up Celestia’s ass that you eat her crap for breakfast.”

The feeling in the room changed as a strang wind started to circle around Twilight. Her eyes were glowing white. Sundrop was then teleported in front of Twilight, an overwhelming fear came over Sundrop. She could feel her heart beating in her head.

“Don't you ever insult Princess Celestia!!! She has been around for thousands of years, and has seen countless battles. She has known more heartache than any other pony alive. And you have the nerve to tell me that I have my nose stuck up her ass. I want you to know something.” Twilight flew up and looked down. “If it was not for me and my friends, one of which you just insulted. We would be living underneath the rule of nightmare moon, and living in eternal darkness.”

Sundrop was now laying on the ground, her hooves covering her head. “Please forgive me princess!!!” She screamed. Twilight’s eyes then returned to normal, as she watched Sundrop. Who was now a sobbing mess on the floor. Twilight slowly drifted back down to the ground and stepped towards Sundrop.

Twilight took a deep breath and placed a hoof on Sundrop’s back, and gave a small yet comforting smile. “I forgive you.” Twilight said while stroking the mare’s back. Sundrop looked up at Twilight.

“You really forgive me?” Sundrop asked in a shaky tone.

“I do, but let this be a lesson to you. Just because a paper says that a pony is a colt, does not mean that that is the case. Some ponies identify with the opposite gender than they were born with. And this can make life very difficult for them. Some think it is a choice, but I can assure you it is not.”

Sundrop dove into Twilight’s hooves, and Twilight held her close. “Thank you princess, thank you so much.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Charm was Sitting on the porch of the farm house watching the weather ponies move in clouds for a rain shower later that day. The birds were chirping of in the distance. A sweet melody that they only sung right before a rain. A voice In the distance could be heard harmonizing with birds, coming up the dirt path that connected the farm to Ponyville. Charm was excited, it had been days since she last saw Fluttershy.

The voice became more clear as it got closer, only for another to join. This was the first time that Charm had heard anypony sing with Fluttershy, Charm sat there and tried her best to figure out who it could be. Soon though her question was answered, as she sat there and looking off in the distance at the hill. She saw Fluttershy and Apple Jack top the hill.

Charm made her way off the porch and proceeded to walk towards Flutttershy and AppleJack. She wanted to run but knew she was still unable to do so. The closer she got the more beautiful their singing sounded. She couldn't help but notice that Fluttershy was leaning against Apple Jack as they walked.

Charm stopped in front of the two. They both looked down at Charm and stopped singing.

“Mommy!!!” Charmed yelled as she jumped towards Fluttershy and began to hug her. Fluttershy returned the hug, and gave Charm a kiss on the forehead. Charm continued to nuzzle Fluttershy. Apple Jack gave a slight chuckle and nudged Charm on the side.

Charm looked up at AppleJack with a puzzled look on her face.

“Charm why don’t you go find Apple Bloom and come back to the house. Fluttershy and I have somethin we would like to talk to you two about.” Apple Jack said with a wink, and then looked at Fluttershy who have a confirming nod.

“Ok” Charm said as she turned and walked away as quickly as she could to find Apple Bloom. Apple Jack watched as the little filly walked away. Charm looked back at them and the turned back to the task of finding Apple Bloom. Apple Jack couldn't help but give a slight chuckle. Then she felt a slight peck on the cheek as Fluttershy gave her a kiss. Apple Jack looked over at Fluttershy and saw a big blush on her face.

“Do ya think Apple Bloom will like having a niece?” Apple Jack asked.

Fluttershy gave a slight giggle. “I am sure that she will love it.” Fluttershy said, as she continued to walk towards the farm house.

“I hope your right Fluttershy, I hope your right.” Apple Jack whispered to herself, as she followed Fluttershy.

Charm walked for what seemed like hours to her, but was only about 30 minutes. Before she finally found Apple Bloom. She was tending to the south field. Charm watched Apple Bloom for a few moments. She admired how easily she made bucking apples look. Every kick landing with a solid thud against the tree. Making all the apples fall perfectly into the baskets below.

Apple Bloom was about to start on another tree when she looked over and saw Charm standing off in the distance. She could tell that Charm was eager to talk to her. Wiping the sweat off her forehead, she motioned for Charm to come on over.

“What's up Charm?” Apple Bloom asked as she leaned up against a tree to rest herself.

“Apple Jack and Fluttershy want us to come to the farm house. They have something they want to talk to us about.” She said. You could hear the eagerness in her voice as she spoke.

Apple Bloom looked at Charm. Her gaze was one of confusion, as she was trying to figure out what in the name of Equestria would Apple Jack , and Fluttershy want to talk to the two of them about. She looked back at the tree she was fixing to buck. “Oh ok let's go see what those two want.” Apple Bloom said, sounding a bit annoyed.

Apple Jack, and Fluttershy sat at the table sipping on some mugs of hard cider, enjoying each other's company. Apple Jack had drug out the cider to celebrate, and to try to calm Fluttershy’s nerves. The pony was just not good with pressure, and Apple Jack figured that the cider would help her relax just enough.

The sound of hooves trotting up the stairs on the porch broke the silence. Apple Jack turned towards the door to watch Charm and her sister come through it. Charm was out of breath. The walk had took its toll on her. She still needed some time to get back in shape. Apple Bloom was acting like a crutch for Charm to lean on. Apple Bloom guided Charm towards a chair at the kitchen table where her sister and Fluttershy sat waiting.

Apple Jack looked over at Charm and could see that she was in a bit of pain from the walk. She felt bad for making her walk so far. But knew it would be worth in the long run. Apple Jack slid her half full mug of hard cider towards Charm. “Here drink the rest of this. It looks like you need it.” Apple Jack said with a wink.

Apple Bloom looked at her sister with a eyebrow raised. Apple Jack gave a slight chuckle. “Ok Apple Bloom you can have some too. Just half a mug though, it's the strong stuff.”

Apple Jack watched as charm took a drink of the cider. Charms eyes shot wide open as she sat the mug down on the table and shook her head back and forth. “That is stronger than the stuff you gave me last time.” Charm said licking her lips. Only for Apple Jack to laugh again.

Fluttershy just giggled a bit, The cider clearly having an effect on her. There was just a slight red tint on her cheeks. Apple Jack checked her mug. It was almost empty. “Are you ok Fluttershy?” Apple Jack.

“I am just *hickup* peachy” she replied with a small grin on her face. Apple Jack put a hoof to her head, and just shook her head back and forth.

“Ok some pony tell me why we are here and drinking cider.” Apple Bloom said as she plopped down beside Charm who was just sipping away at the sweet nectar in front of her.

“Well Apple Bloom I am very glad you asked that.” Apple Jack said, crossing her hooves and using them like a prop for her head. “As of this morning, Charm here is officially an Apple.”

“What!!!” Apple Bloom, and Charm screamed.

“And me and Fluttershy here are engaged.” Apple Jack said with a proud smile as she put her arm around Fluttershy and gave her a kiss.

Apple Bloom, and Charm sat across from Apple Jack, and Fluttershy dumbfounded. Both of them still trying to process what had just happened. Apple Bloom looked over at Charm. She could not tell if her expression was a look of happiness or shock.

“So you mean to tell me that Charm is my sist…..”

“Your really adopted me!!!” Charm screamed, interrupting Apple Bloom in excitement.

“Yup we did. Me and Fluttershy are officially your new moms.” Apple Jack said.

Charm then moved faster than she had in weeks, as she quickly moved between both of her new mothers and gave them both a big hug. She began crying the happiest tears she has ever cried.

“Wait a minute!!!” Apple Bloom screamed. All of them starred at her in confusion. “So you mean to tell me that Charm is my sister now.”

“Um actually she is your niece.” Fluttershy said softly.

Apple Bloom sat there again in silence. A small tear could be seen making a trail down her cheek. Followed by a smile as she got up to join them in the hug. She then hugged them and Screamed. “I’m a aunt!!!”
