Nova seems like your ordinary unicorn but his magic reserves say otherwise.
Nova Core has been travelling across equestria looking for anwsers. Who is he and why has he so much magical energy inside him. He fears what he can do and what he has done. His journey brings him to ponyville will this just be another stop for him or something a lot more.
This is the first story I have ever written. Best case scenario it makes sense and the only problems are grammatical, Worst case scenario only I know whats happening. Please give feedback it would be greatly appreciated.
Sitting alone in the class room was a young unicorn colt he had a golden coat, an orange and red mane with matching tail and bright red eyes. He was always early, it was the only time in school he enjoyed well that and leaving it. There was no one to make fun of him, no one to tease him. He hoped today that the other colts wouldn’t be to mean to him as he had another one of his headaches that had been plaguing him recently.
“Why do you even come to class Nova you fail at everything” said the first of the colt to walk through the door.
“I bet his horn is fake” said another.
“What’s it now a month into school and he can’t use any magic” the last of the group said.
What they didn’t know was that Nova could use magic, he just chose not to. Every time he had tried to use it somepony would get hurt or the object he was trying to levitate would be crushed or thrown through a wall. It was easier for him to pretend he couldn’t than risk seriously hurting somepony.
Soon the class had filled up and the teacher had started with her lessons, he wasn’t paying much attention as his headache took another opportunity to flare up again, he started to feel really hot as a dull pain spread across his body.
“I bet Nova could levitate it” was said mockingly from one of the other colts.
Suddenly a bit more alert to the class after hearing his name.
“Would you like to give it a try nova” the teacher said reassuringly.
He liked this teacher, always patient and kind with him; he wondered why as all he did was act as he was the worst magic user in a school for unicorns. “Go on just take your time, concentrate on the book” she said trying to encourage him further. It’s been a few weeks since the last time he tried to use his magic and his dazed state for some reason thought it would be different this time.
A large golden aura could be briefly seen as the book erupted into flames.
Just as he released his magic the headache began to throb again and again, the pain began to be unbearable he felt like he was burning. A shocked stare meanwhile was on the faces of everypony else in the room as a golden glow began to emit from Nova.
“AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhH!!!!!!!!” Nova screamed at the top of his lungs. A powerful shockwave launched in all directions from Nova, the wall behind him collapsed, everypony was slammed against the remaining walls. He passed out.
“What happened” Nova stuttered slowly gaining consciousness.
“It’s all right son, your safe now daddy’s here” the stallion said stirring from his chair at the bedside.
“Where am I, the last thing I remember was the book... I set it on fire and then..?” No it happened again but I never went to sleep afterwards he thought to himself.
“From what I’ve been told you caused a small explosion, no one was badly hurt so don’t worry” he would leave it at that; his son did not need to hear about the injuries he had involuntarily inflicted on the other colts and fillies. “We are currently in the hospital; you seem to have come out without a scratch on you.” Nova’s dad continued.
“I.... I... thought it would be different this time that I wouldn’t hurt any pony but it’s even worse” Nova said starting to cry.
“It might not have to anymore Nova, the doctor that examined you believes he has found the problem, and will be coming back with some test results soon” he said trying to comfort his son, he hated not being able to help him, not understanding why his magic was so out of control, he had no experience with magic being an earth pony.
“Mr Olive Core, we have the test results back, with some quite surprising results” the doctor said approaching the father and son. “Well it appears your son has the same magical energy as a mature unicorn if not more”. “Is that bad doctor” Olive replied.
“No far from it, it’s not unheard of for colts to have exceptional magical energy though I myself have never seen this much in one so young, your son is gifted Mr Olive Core, very gifted”.
“But what about the explosion how can we prevent that from happening again”.
“Oh that, a simple spell, well more of a technique will allow your son to contain his energy until his body is mature enough to handle the excess energy” A smile slowly appeared across Nova’s face as he heard this. He wouldn’t hurt anypony again or so he thought.
10 Years ago
“But I thought you were supposed to be an exceptional unicorn” the dark blue coated Pegasus with the silvery mane said jokingly, he knew full well Nova was exceptional.
“Well yes but I don’t know any of those fancy spells, though you have seen me levitate objects no normal unicorn can lift” Nova replied. His magical energy had been kept at the same level it had been four years previous with any extra energy Nova mentally locking away inside himself. Unlike other gifted unicorns he hadn’t been sent to a specialist school as was recommended, his father just couldn’t afford to do so.
The two colts were trotting through a forest just outside fillydelphia looking to cause a little trouble as young colts do. They had become inseparable over the past four years, Night Wing was the first colt that talked to him after he moved from his old school after the incident. He was his first true friend.
“Nova I’ve always wondered what the largest thing you could levitate is” Night said curiously. Nova thought to himself for a few seconds before replying “You find it I’ll move it” thinking it would be very unlikely to find something that he couldn’t move.
“If I find something you can’t move you have to call me Captain Night Wing all week in school”.
“Ok well I win you will call me The Great and Powerful Nova”.
“You know Trixie will get annoyed at you for stealing her self-imposed nick name if I called you that but alright” and with a hoof bump the deal was made.
Night wing thought he had won already he knew something that Nova would never move but he would have fun with the bet before he would get to that.
Over the next 30 minutes Night Wing made Nova lift rocks trees even a house though only moving it slightly as he didn’t want to damage it. “All right that was awesome but can you move me” Night Wing said almost triumphantly knowing Nova’s weakness.
“I should have guessed you would stoop this low” he always refused to move ponies directly remembering how damaging his magic could be, sure he hadn’t destroyed anything in years but to know his magic could possibly do that to a pony scared him.
“Come on what you waiting for, or do you really want to call me Commander Night Wing that badly” He knew it was a win-win situation, on one hand he could help his friend get over an irrational fear of his or he’d win the bet.
“But you know how I feel about using magic on ponies”.
“Come on all you got to do is move me, I know you won’t hurt me”
“Alright alright just move you” Nova said with a creeping smile, he wasn’t ready to use his magic on others though that didn’t mean he couldn’t move him using other methods. He slowly lifted a large rock that was lying behind night and slowly started moving it towards him.
“It’s a stupid fear you have, you can do it” Night said as he noticed his friend’s horn glowing. He started to feel like he was being pushed from behind, it must be the magic he thought for just a moment as he had never been in another unicorns hold. “Wait... no that doesn’t count your cheating” Night said as he finally noticed he was being pushed by a rock. “Well you said all I had to do was move you”
“You knew I meant with your magic”.
“Your exact words were “Come on all you got to do is move me” and I moved you” .
“Whatever...” Night said reluctantly accepting the technicality.
“Does that mean I win, I must say the Great and Powerful Nova does have a nice ring to it.”
“No!” he wasn’t about to lose on a technicality and he knew Nova wouldn’t allow him to specify another pony, he had to think of something fast.
“Well it looks like you are out of ideas; I’ll give you two minutes to come up with another one or I win”
Maybe the statue in the park, no he moved the house so easily earlier. What about the large tree in the forest that could be challenging no this would be my last chance it has to be something he can’t even budge. Nothing else came to his mind, he sighed just about to give up when something caught his eye. A large grin appeared on Night’s face as he said the next two words. “The Sun”.
“You got to be kidding me, the sun, No that doesn’t count” .
“Why you scared you can’t do it”.
“Of course I can’t do it”.
“The stories said that unicorns used to move the sun and the moon before Celestia did and I have yet to see or hear of a unicorn more powerful than you” Night said knowing he would now try.
“Alright I’ll try” Knowing that now if he failed the bet was lost; Night had a valid point unicorns used to move the sun so why couldn’t he do it now.
Pointing his horn towards the sun his horn glowed brightly as he put more and more magic into moving the sun.
I can almost feel it, I’m close now.
He was now using all his available magic into his attempt. He felt as though the sun was calling to him he had to reach it. If only I had more magic, it’s just a bit further. I’m four years older now my body can handle more magic. I must reach the sun. He looked inside himself and undid the lock on his magic container and the magic from the container became his again. Night Wing looked on in awe as the light around Nova’s horn began to glow more and more, he was slightly scared but began to think he could actually do it.
More and more of his magic was becoming available to him and he could feel the distance between his magic and the sun become nothing. Not long after he reached the sun, the heat was extreme but it felt pleasant to him almost like it belonged to him, he just wanted to stay like this connected to this Celestial object. “You can do it” he faintly heard as his friend Night was cheering him on. He then remembered the bet he had to move it, the bet was meaningless now but it felt like the sun was asking him to be moved. So he started to move the sun, he didn’t know were or why he just did. He felt happy and contempt connected with the sun until he felt another presence, it seemed to awaken him from his trance like state somepony else also connected to the sun. Celestia I moved her sun. He quickly broke the connection.
“You did it you moved the sun, I admit defeat oh Great and Powerful Nova”
Nova didn’t hear this, Why did I have to move the sun; I’m probably a wanted pony now. He got lost in thought about what might happen to him.
“NOVA, what’s going on” he shouted as he wasn’t getting any response.
“Celestia , she sensed me on the sun” he said with panic in his voice.
“Don’t worry about it, she probably doesn’t know who you are and even if she did no harm came of it, look the suns back in its position before you moved it” he said trying to comfort his friend hoping what he said would turn out to be true.
“Your right thanks Night, you’re a good frie... Arrgh” he was cut off as the most painful headache he had felt in his life began to throb.
“Nova are you alright?” Night said as he raised a concerned hoof to his friend, just to withdraw it immediately in pain as it touched his coat. It was like his coat was as an oven. “Is it Celestia is she punishing you?”.
Is it Celestia doing this to me, is it a side-effect of touching the sun, No this is to familiar. The container it’s still open. Over the past few minutes the magic container inside Nova has been continually releasing magic to him, it was now flowing into him at an alarming rate with no sign of slowing down. He tried to lock the container again but the headache and rising temperature of his body made it extremely hard to concentrate. He remembered the damage he caused four years ago, but the magic he had now was easily 3-4x, he wouldn’t lose control again. I have to control it.
Night Wing could tell his friend was in pain and wanted to help him, he entered the large ever expanding golden sphere glowing around his friend and began trying to cool him down by creating wind with his wings. Try as he might he could feel the area getting hotter and hotter, he knew it was all emitting from Nova. “Ra...... Night” he heard his friend mutter he got closer to try and hear what it was. “Run Night”.
“No what can I do to help you I won’t leave you like this”.
“RUN!!!!!!!!” he screamed.
Night turned to flee and began flying to the edge of the sphere.
A large light could be seen as bright as the sun for miles around, it disappeared as quickly as it came. In the epicentre of the source was a lone colt unicorn unconscious in the middle of a very large crater.
“Another drink please” slurred Nova at the bartender, trying his best to sound a lot more drunk than he was.
The bar was one of the more unsavoury ones, everypony there seemed to find his presence unwelcome he was too lively for the place and he knew it. He had made sure that most of bar had seen him and heard him almost every time he ordered a drink. Making sure to show of the extra bits he carried around while doing so, it was all part of his game. By this point any normal pony would be on the floor with the amount of alcohol consumed but Nova was far from ordinary.
“Who’s up for a magic tussle” Nova shouted.
Looking around the room he saw everypony staring him down. He in turn quickly observed them, picking up on the magical strength of the unicorns in the room, the ability to sense magic was in all unicorns though most never aware of it or not even strong enough to sense others, every pony gives off at least a small aura but much more prominent in unicorns that the other races. Nova however had mastered this ability and quickly worked out who was the weakest and who was the strongest. He eyed a slightly older grey stallion in the corner and approached him he was the weakest he would be the lucky one.
“10 bits to the winner you up for it?” Nova said making sure to keep up his drunken charade. The other stallion just nodded in agreement.
Nova sat down opposite him and got ready to put on a show. Magic tussle is a simple enough game two competitors one object, move the object to your side of the table with your magic and you win. An empty glass sat on the table between them now in a golden aura from Nova and a grey aura from the other stallion. I hate this bit Nova thought to himself as he knew what he had to do.
“Pay up colt” The older stallion said to Nova, as the glass moved to his side of the table.
“Eh double or nothing I didn’t grab it right” The grey stallion just nodded again and reset the glass.
He made sure this time there was more of a struggle but still let the other stallion win it would pay off in the long run it always did. He paid the stallion the bits and looked around, “You are too strong for me though I want to win my bits back, 50 bits who wants a go”. The Pegasus and earth ponys in the room that had been paying attention now looked slightly annoyed knowing full well that only unicorn’s would be able to make a quick and easy profit from this young stallion. A large unicorn with a dark black coat and green mane sat down in front of Nova, Nova could tell he had slightly higher than average magic.
“How about we make it 100” the black coated unicorn said with confidence.
“100 that sounds fine with me” 100 well I didn’t expect to be getting that high just yet, Looks like he will be my one and only customer.
The glass was reset and the tussle began again, Nova let himself lose outright with very little resistance. “Once more I know I do better than that”
“Well the next one is gona be 300 bits if you want a chance to win your money back” The black stallion said thinking he can extract more value from this drunk pony.
“300... bits... fine, let’s go” Nova stammered keeping up his show, too many times had he dropped his charade too early and lost his nights work.
The glass was reset, both the golden aura and the black aura covering it. “3 2 1” Nova heard one of the onlookers shout. A smirk appeared across Nova’s face as the black coated unicorn strained as he tried to move the glass from the starting position not being able to budge it at all.
“Can I start now?” Nova asked mockingly. Slowly he started moving the glass to his edge not wanting to completely embarrass the unicorn.
“You, you tricked me”
“Well a bit, but I believe we agreed on 300 bits” The black coated stallion looked around him, he has stayed in the bar late after his friends had left, he wasn’t going to get in a fight without any backup.
“Fine this is all I got on me, but I’ll get you for this” he set a bag of bits on the table which Nova then magically counted.
“273, well I suppose it will have to do, well you have a good night now” Nova said as he got up and went to leave the bar. Up around 250 bits not a bad night.
Leaving the bar he slowly trotted down the street, keeping an eye on the front of the bar he knew from past experiences that his antics could attract the more undesirable kind of ponies especially in the rougher establishments. Please don’t follow me just a few more seconds and I’ll be in the clear.
“Buck” Nova mumbled under his breath as he heard the bar door open and close again. Turning around he saw two unicorns one had a blue coat with green mane the other a forest green coat and dark almost black mane. They both looked towards Nova locking eyes with him, Nova knew what was going to happen so decided to find an alleyway that could hide the inevitable event. Seeing a turn off on the street he galloped off into it knowing the other unicorns would be quickly following.
“Looks like you took a wrong turn” the green unicorn said upon entering the alleyway.
“I always offer thugs like you one chance to walk away before they get hurt, are you two going to be the first to take it?” Nova said with a little smile.
“You think I’m going to walk away, you see my cutie mark I got it from my first mugging” the green unicorn showed of his flank revealing a horseshoe with some drops of blood of it.
“Trying to act tough, you don’t even have a cutie mark, a blank flank at your age, and your giving us the chance to walk away bucking hilarious.” Nova would normally wait for them to make the first move but if anyone made fun of his lack of cutie mark that changed things.
“Wrong move making fun of...” Nova was abruptly interrupted by two hoofs to the face. Nova dropped to the floor bucking Pegasus should have checked the skies.
The quiet unicorn searched Nova with his magic and pulled out his bag of bits levitating it into the air in front of him. “That’s the first time I’ve been hit in a long time that actually hurt, I’ll be taking that back now” Nova said trying to shake off the pain in his head. He took a quick glance around at the now much closer unicorns and the now brown Pegasus standing behind him. Pegasus first, Nova picked up a stone on the ground with his magic and flung it at the Pegasus’s head quickly knocking him to the ground. He could feel the other two now trying to lift him directly with their magic though having no effect.
“Having trouble there?” Hearing and seeing it was having no effect, they changed tact and attempted to throw any objects at him. Any object that was lifted into the air by them was quickly taken over my Nova’s magic. “Remember when I told you to walk away before you got hurt well it’s to late now” Nova said as he threw all the objects knocking both the unicorns out while giving them some other minor injuries.
Nova picked up the bag of bits of the ground and trotted away from the scene of three unconscious ponies. He finally trotted of towards the ponyville inn for a well deserved nights sleep.

Nova sat on a hill just on the outskirts of town, waiting for the return of the sun. He could see it peeking over the horizon and as the light washed over him he felt refreshed and revitalized. I want that feeling again; I’m meant to be connected to you though I don’t know why. Every day he would go through these thoughts he couldn’t forget how he felt when connected to the sun all those years ago, he never dared risking the connection again not after what had happened but he could never shake the temptation it was always there always calling to him getting stronger and stronger the more time that past.
He sat on the hill until the sun had completely risen past the horizon, deciding to go back into the town he would be spending the next few nights in, he would also need to scope out a new bar the same trick never works twice in the place.
What a friendly town, much nicer than the cities Nova thought as he traversed the streets of ponyville. He wasn’t used to other ponies acknowledging each other as they went about their daily life, in the cities every pony was just a number but that didn’t seem to be the case here. He had now made it to the town market. About time for breakfast Nova thought to himself looking around the market for something to eat. He spotted an orange mare selling’s apples in the market and started approaching her when something very pink covered his vision. “Hello I’m Pinkie Pie what’s your name I haven’t seen you before”.
“Well hello Pinkie Pie my names Nova and yes I just got into town last night” Nova said slightly startled as he took a few steps back to get a better look at the mare in front of him. I’ve never sensed any magic like this from any pony and she’s an earth pony Nova thought as Pinkie started bouncing around him singing some song, he was too interested in the aura she was giving off, it was rare for Pegasus ponies but much rarer for Earth ponies to give off anything noticeable. “New best friend” Nova caught at the end of Pinkie’s song.
“Best friend?”
“I’m your new best friend I’m best friends with everypony in town so what’s your favourite colour what about food why don’t you have a cutie mark oh sorry my favourite colour is pink you should come down to sugar cube corner you can get cupcakes and muffins”
“Calm down, one question at a time”
“Oh would you look at the time I got to go you should come down to sugar cube corner around noon I’ll get you a free cupcake” pinkie said disappearing as soon as she finished the sentence.
Well that was strange encounter, but a free cupcake would be nice. I’ll look for this sugarcube corner later. He looked towards the stand where he thought the mare selling apples would still be but was surprised to find she wasn’t there. “I see you met Pinkie Pie” said the orange mare suddenly at his side.
“What is it with this town and sneaking up on ponies” Nova said as he turned to greet the mare. The first thing he noticed about here was she had a very similar magic to Pinkie Pie. Two earth ponies in a row something strange is going on this town.
“Well shucks I’m sorry bout that, I’ve never seen you before and I know how excited Pinkie can be meeting new ponies”
“Ye she had a lot of energy, I’m Nova by the way, I was actually on my way to buy one of your apples before I got interrupted”
“Applejack’s tha name”
“You wouldn’t be one of the apple family?”
“Yes, why’d ya ask”
“I have been travelling for a while now and it’s quite a big family, I do appreciate the product as well”
“Lets get you some apples then, how many do you want” applejack said trotting back towards her stand.
“Two will do me fine thanks, how much is will that be”
“2 bits will do just fine, by the way what did Pinkie say to you”
“Oh she just welcomed me, asked me some questions and offered me a free cupcake if I came to her shop at noon today” Nova said as he levitated some bits to Applejack.
“It’s was nice to meet you Nova, I’ve got to get back to work but I’ve a feeling we will be meeting again soon” Applejack said as she noticed two customers queuing up behind Nova.
“Ok then goodbye” Nova said as he walked away wondering about that last comment, probably just being friendly well back to exploring, I want to check if other ponies have magic like these two and I still got to find a bar for tonight.
Nova spent the rest of the morning exploring the town he found a few possible bars that he could hit tonight, he even saw a building made out of what seemed to be a hollowed tree. Well it was definitely an interesting town now to get my free cupcake. He made his way to sugarcube corner which he had found in his exploration of the town. “SURPRISE” was all he heard as he walked through the door.
“Sorry I think you’ve got the wrong pony” Nova said quite startled by the surprise slowly backing towards the door again.
“Don’t be silly ITSYOURSUPERDUPERWELCOMETOPONYVILLESUPRISEPARTY were you surprised because you looked surprised sometimes ponies find out about surprise parties before they are surprised and aren’t surprised but you didn’t find out did you?” Pinkie Pie said while moving Nova in to the crowd away from the door.
Nova just stared at the pony trying to make sense of what she said “So this party is for me”
“Of course silly I don’t know any other ponies that came to Ponyville yesterday unless you do then I have to throw a party for them do you know if any more ponies came?” Pinkie said bouncing around him.
“No… I don’t sorry, do you throw parties for everypony visiting and I’m only here for a few days”
“You’re so silly you’re the main character and everything happens in Ponyville …”
“Don’t you worry bout her, she’s just being Pinkie Pie you will get used to her” Applejack interrupted after seeing a very confused look on Nova’s face. “Come on I’ll introduce to you to a few ponies” she continued. Being the only one to have met this pony other than Pinkie she took it upon herself to introduce him to the others.
Nova took a glance around the room for the first time, there did seem to be a lot of work put into the event, many ponies had turned up there was lots of decorations and food and drink seemed to be provided in abundance. Why would anypony go to all this work for me? I will have to thank that crazy mare after.
“Well these are some of my friends” Applejack said as we walked to a group of four mares. “This is Rainbow Dash”
A cyan coloured mare with multicoloured mane stepped forward. “I’m Rainbow fasted flyer in Equestria pleased to meet you”
“Just Nova Core, I don’t think I have any title to match yours” He didn’t like ponies knowing that he thought he was the most powerful unicorn in Equestira. Though the thing that intrigued him was that could sense another strange magic from this Pegasus but before he could investigate further he was introduced to the next one of the group.
“And this is Twilight” Applejack said introducing Nova to another of her friends.
The lavender unicorn now in front of him just stared at him, when his eyes met hers that’s all he could do as well he had never sensed anything like it. So much power, she’s like me she must be, how did I not sense this when I walked into the room. Nova was entranced in her magical power it was many many times larger than that of an average unicorn, sure he had met exceptional unicorns before but this was different, this mare in front of him was on a different level all together she might actually have power to match him he could only hope. He hadn’t released his inhibitor in years and still didn’t know how much he had grown in power but just maybe she was the same. Did she live the same as me, face the same hardships maybe she knows why we are so powerful.
When the golden coated stallion walked through the door she forgot to yell surprise, instead it was her who was surprised. This new unicorn had enormous magical power only rivaled by that of the Princesses, enemies such as Discord and the Changeling Queen and just maybe herself. Thinking about enemies having such power made he slightly suspicious of him, she would have to find out about his intentions here. Before she knew it the new unicorn is was right in front of her at this range she could tell he was more powerful than her. I am the element of magic how can this random unicorn have more m magic than me. She had never thought she would mind if there was a unicorn more powerful than her that she would become jealous but she had never met one. The more she thought about it the more annoyed she got all her friends had a skill they were amazing at maybe even the best in Equestria but she felt her spot had just been taken away.
She must be sensing me as well maybe I should say something. “And this is Rarity” Applejack said pushing Nova away from Twilight, thinking it would be best to break what seemed to be a silent staring contest between the two.
“Nice to meet you darling, I am Rarity” she said hoping not to the same stare down she just witnessed between him and her friend.
“Yes ye… I am Nova Core pleased to meet you to” Nova said as the introduction waked him from this train of thought while taking a quick glance back at the lavender unicorn. This is a party I’ll have time to talk to her later, let’s get the rest of these introductions done first. He turned back to the white unicorn noticing the strange magical presence again. He had looked around town before the party not noticing any irregularities but these friends were different everyone of them intrigued him. I bet the next one has the weird magic as well.
He moved over to meet the next mare; she seemed to shy away when he approached her. As I guessed she also has the strange magic, I wonder what it is. “Hi my name is Nova pleasure to meet you”
“…”
“Sorry I didn’t hear you there”
“… ff shy” was all he could make out.
“Her names Fluttershy, she’s a bit shy but she’ll warm to you eventually” Applejack said coming to the rescue again. With the introductions over the other mares dispersed to mingle with the other ponies at the party, Nova was finding it strange that the ponies he was introduced to all had strange magical properties especially the Lavender pony. He wanted to know more about this pony but could not seem to see her at the party so approached Applejack. “Applejack can I ask you about one of your friends”
“You want to know about Twilight?”
“Ye, how did you know” Nova responded finally knowing the name of the lavender pony, he knew it was said before but completely missed it when he became entranced by her.
“That little stare down you two had was a tad weird sugarcube, it was quite hard to miss”
“I was going to talk to her about that but I can’t seem to find her”
“She had to leave something about book delivery”
“Book delivery?”
“Ye she runs the town library though I haven’t known her to leave in the middle of one of Pinkies Parties, it wasn’t anything to do with you was it”
“Possibly, I don’t know” Applejack looked like she was about to respond but was cut off by Pinkie Pie jumping in front her.
“Hey Nova gave you tried one of the cupcakes here try this one” Pinkie handed a rainbow coloured cupcake to him.
“Sure sounds good I’ll finally get that cupcake you promised me” He grabbed the cupcake with his magic and ate it in one go. “That’s a good cupcake pinkie thanks”
“What how did you eat that without any reaction it’s meant to be super duper hot”
“Heat doesn’t really bother me, never has I don’t know why” with a few exceptions.
“Wow that was so cool you didn’t even flinch when you ate it” Rainbow said joining the conversation after watching the potential prank from afar. The party was just getting started and it was the first one he had been to in well he couldn’t remember I’ll catch up to Twilight afterwards.
Nova thought the party was awesome, he chatted with lots of different ponies especially Applejack and her friends. He talked about his travels and meetings with distance relatives of Applejack. Rarity wouldn’t stop talking about his coat and mane and how she wanted to create him a suit after he apologized for what he thought was a rude introduction on his part. Rainbow Dash wanted to know more about his resistance to heat and what he could with it, she was also the only one to comment on his lack of cutie mark though he ignored it. Pinkie would get him to play games and he eventually got around to thanking the mare for the party. Eventually Fluttershy came around and he found out about her animals and how caring she was. He enjoyed the pranks throughout the afternoon and he even went up and danced. But throughout the day he couldn’t stop thinking about Twilight he couldn’t wait to talk to her.
The party had lasted longer than he thought, upon leaving the party he noticed the sun was setting soon. He looked up at the sun for its last visible minutes reflecting back on his day in Ponyville he couldn’t help but feel happy about it, happier than he’d been in a long time. As the sun set he felt a slight fatigue wash over him, it was a lot worse when he was a colt but now he was used to the feeling and could function just fine during the night.
He had decided that he would give his bar con a miss tonight there was much more important things on his mind. Before he knew it he found himself outside the hollow tree which he found out at the party was the library. He stood at the door for what seemed like an age before building up the courage to knock the door. I hope she didn’t run from the party because of me, maybe by not talking I insulted her, what if she doesn’t want to talk to me, calm down Nova your over thinking things.
He watched the door open preparing himself to greet Twilight but was surprised to see something different all together. There in front of him was what appeared to be a small dragon what is it with this town I’ve been all over Equestria and in one day this place has more strange things than everywhere else put together.
“Erm hi there, is Twilight here I would really like to talk to her.”
“Are you Nova?”
“Ye I am, why?”
“Twilight seems to be a bit annoyed and it seems it’s because of you.”
“Oh right I don’t know why but maybe I can help.”
“All right but I’m watching you.”
Nova entered the building thinking about how he had annoyed Twilight. “Just wait here and I’ll get her” the little dragon said. Taking the chance he looked around the bookshelves as the dragon walked into another room. Walking up to a desk he looked at some of the books lying on it advanced magics, Daring Do and the temple of fire well that’s a big contrast in reading material. Turning around he noticed Twilight had entered the room and was suddenly taken back again by her presence snap out of it can’t stare at her all day. “So… hi I’m Nova, sorry I didn’t introduce myself at the party” he said approaching her.
“It was as much my fault if not more; I should be apologizing to you leaving your party like that it.”
“It was something to do with me though wasn’t it.”
Twilight took her time to reluctantly say “Yes.”
Noticing the reluctance in her voice he decided not to press it any further, there was silence for a few moments before Nova spoke up again. “I’ve never met a pony like you before in all my travels around Equestira no pony has had magic any were near mine but you, your different it’s almost if magic flows through you.”
Twilight was surprised at the compliment at least she knew now she wasn’t lower than 2nd in terms of magic. “Thanks though I seem to be so small compared to you.”
“What do you mean?”
Twilight was shocked this stallion in front of her did not know his on strength “I mean the magic locked inside you nearly rivals that of the princess’s its enormous.”
“Oh” was all he could say, he knew he had power but to be near that of the princess’s he would never have though. “Wait how you do know the princess’s power?”
“I am Celestias’ personal student” she said proudly.
A fear crept upon Nova; he didn’t want Celestia to know about him everything about the event 10 years ago scared including the moment when Celestia sensed him. The logical part of him thought that nothing would become of it but most fears aren’t rational. “Could you please not inform Celestia about me?”
Twilight noticed the change in speech, he seems almost afraid why would he be afraid of Celestia maybe he’s a criminal. “Why shouldn’t I do you have something to hide?”
“It’s kind of personal.”
“Well your acting very suspicious right not, I think you should tell me about it or I will contact Celestia. Actually better yet show me.”
He had never shared this story with anyone but it was either that or have Celestia find out about him. “What you mean show you.”
“Just a new spell I’ve been working on, it allows me to view other ponies’ memory” Twilight said excitedly.
“Ok let’s get it over with”
Twilight started the spell touching horns with Nova, “Now just think of the memory in question”. As the magics of both unicorns combined a strange sensation washed over them both they were once again both entranced with each other. Though as quickly as the sensation appeared it disappeared as the memory of Night Wing and Nova played through her mind. She saw them play their game, Night Wing challenging Nova to move the sun and doing it there is no way a colt should be able to move the sun I’ll have to investigate him further. She saw the connection with Celestia and were the fear of her originated from though it seemed silly he would be so scared of her just because of this. She thought the memory would end there but was instead shocked to see Nova’s magic go out of control and the end of Night Wing. She was thrown back by a large surge of magic as the explosion in the memory went off. It was then she noticed a sobbing stallion collapsed on the floor, unknown to her the spell has made Nova relive the memory in life like detail. How could I put another pony through something like that? Twilight approached Nova and lay down beside him trying to comfort the hurt stallion no words were exchanged there was nothing she could say, eventually they both drifted of to sleep.
Unknown to the two unicorns the surge of magic did more than just knock them back, it spread throughout the entire library encountering a strange tiara. The tiara began to shake violently for minutes after, almost as if a struggle was going on inside of it. Eventually what seemed to be a mist emerged from the gem on the tiara. Free at last, though I will not last long without a new host.
The mist quickly scanned around looking for a suitable host finding a two sleeping unicorns. Twilight sparkle her magic repulse’s me but this unicorn has such amazing power he will be perfect thought the mist as it disappeared into Nova’s body.

The Nightmare looked through the memories of his new host trying to learn all about him. The Nightmare had been at it hours many of the memories would be useless though every now and then there was an interesting event that the Nightmare knew would be useful later in getting control of the host. This looks like it could be another interesting memory the Nightmare thought as he saw Nova approach a sickly looking earth pony in a hospital bed.
“Dad… is there anything I can get you; I can call the doctor if you want”
“No, now that you’re here there’s nothing I need” Olive Core said weakly to his son.
“Do you want anything for the pain?”
“Just stay with me, I don’t think it will be long now” Nova grabbed his fathers hoof and held it tightly.
The Nightmare searched the recent memories before this event, it seemed that a sickness had been claiming ponies throughout the town, there seemed to be no cure and nopony knew the cause of it. Strangely though Nova showed no signs of the sickness at all, his dad though had caught it two weeks ago most ponies didn’t last longer than that.
“Don’t say that, you can’t leave me alone. It’s always been me and you together, I need you Dad” the teenage colt said unsuccessfully trying to hold back tears.
“Nova I remember when I found you as a little foal outside my door, it had been three weeks since Emerald died and I had been living in depression the entire time. That was until I saw you son, as soon as my eyes met yours I knew I would spend the rest of my live looking after you, I just knew you were meant for me."
Nova knew all this it was a story his father liked to tell him but he could tell this time was going to be the last he heard it told. “Dad please save your strength I’ll find a way to help you.”
“Nova you saved my life that night, I would have drunk myself to death in my depression but you give me 14 years of happiness, I got to watch you grow into a kind and caring stallion. You are stronger than you think Nova and I’m not just talking about your magic, I know you will be able to control it properly”
“Dad I’m not as strong as you think I am what… what if I kill another pony again”
“How many times do I have to tell you this, you are not a killer it was out of your control but it doesn’t have to be, you’re stronger than it” The older stallion recoiled a bit as the pain wrecked through his body again. “I’ve always known you are special Nova, not just because you’re my son I just feel you are destined for great things. Promise me you will never give up though no matter how hard things get.”
Nova sat there in silence for a moment before speaking “I promise dad I… I promise.” A small smile appeared on the sick stallion knowing the end would be coming soon. The father and son just sat in silence after this for what seemed like eternity for the young stallion.
“I love you Nova…” he said with his last breaths.
“I love you too dad” Nova responded tears dripping down his face, he looked up to his fathers face as he saw his eyes close and the grip from the older stallion loosen. Nova knew at that moment his father was gone, the only pony that had always been there for him, the only pony who could ever understand him. He heard the monitors that had been connected to him make a loud beep and was soon moved out of the way as ponies wearing masks tried to revive his father though he knew it was pointless he was gone.
The next few days Nova was extremely depressed everything he done reminded him of his father and there was nopony that could comfort him, sure some friends of the family had tried they had been gathering for the funeral but none of them could relate to what Nova was going through. Ever since Night Wing died he couldn’t bring himself to make new friends the only pony he could talk to or be around was his father and now he was alone.
The funeral finished without any problems, Nova had to get away from all the pretenders that had shown up. He started walking away from the funeral lost in thought not looking back; he walked what seemed like hours finally stopping as the sun was setting. “Why did you leave me dad, I can’t do this I know you said I could but I can’t” he said staring up to the ever darkening sky. He sat there thinking about all the happy times with his father, all the times he was in trouble due to his magic and he sorted everything out. He always helped me why couldn’t I help him this time, Maybe I could have, the sickness didn’t effect me. My magic protects me from it there must have been a way I could have used it. I could have helped him why didn’t I try; I’m just a useless foal. This new train of thought continued inside him for a long time instead of being sad he felt a rage build up inside him. The rage built up to a boiling point he had never felt like before, he felt his magic inhibitor break from the emotion but unlike the previous times he didn’t care. He felt the magic flow through him it felt amazing to him as it grew stronger and stronger, it was the first thing that had made him feel alive since the sickness took hold of his father. Then he hit the limit his body couldn’t take any more it started to burn up and the headaches started flaring, the pain continued to build until he couldn’t take anymore. “AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!” the area erupted with light as bright as the sun incinerating everything in an explosion that could take out a small town.
The Nightmare finished with the memory in awe at the potential destructive force that it could control. Anger can break his seal as well, interesting this will definitely be useful it thought as it continued to look through the rest of Nova’s memories.

Sorry for the short chapter, I've been very busy the past few days so couldn't get much done.
Nova woke up the next day to find Twilight lying next to him; he couldn’t help but feel happy that some pony had shown him some affection. He lay there listening to the mare breathe in and out content to stay this way for the foreseeable future. He couldn’t deny that there he felt a connection with this mare I am falling for her. He looked over the mare looking past the glow of her magic she is definitely beautiful from the shine of her coat, her lovely mane and those eyes I can’t stop thinking about them.
He stayed in the same position for what seemed like hours, content to be near this mare until she began to stir. Waking up with a stallion beside her seemed to me a bit more of a shock to her Nova noticed as her eyes opened, this shock quickly passed as she remembered what had happened the previous night.
After the initial shock of waking up beside Nova she felt a strange comfort in being so close to another pony, she had never done anything like this before and she had found herself enjoying the heat of another body beside her. She lay there for a few more minutes, neither of the ponies bringing up the courage to say anything. Twilight finally started to move after hearing a noise from upstairs knowing that it was probably just Spike moving in his sleep.
“Twilight can I show you something, it won’t take too long” Nova said finally breaking the silence. He started walking to the door as he awaited her response.
She looked back to the stairs thinking about what Spike would think if he awoke to an empty house, looking outside to check how early it was only to find out it was still dark, confident that she had plenty of time she moved towards the door to follow Nova. “Sure Nova.”
She wondered where they were heading to as they left the town behind, Nova has only been in town for 2 days I wonder what he wants to show me out here, maybe he’s going to try and get rid of me I know he killed a pony, no it can’t be that I don’t think he wants to hurt anypony. These thoughts continued to cycle through her mind as the journey continued, though all she really knew about this pony was one event in his life she couldn’t help but feel safe in his presence. “Is it much further?”
“We just need to get to that hill up a head” Nova pointed.
Twilight saw Nova sit down on the top of the hill he seemed to be beckoning her to sit beside him. Twilight confused at trotting all this way for a Hill reluctantly sat down. “What is it you wanted to show me is it this hill?”
“You will see soon.” Nova said looking towards the horizon.
Twilight was getting a bit fed up waiting and broke the silence again. “You know it wasn’t your fault, Night Wing I mean. It was out of your control.”
“Thanks Twilight but I know that’s not true, I released my magic if I didn’t then he would still be alive. I killed my friend and I have to live with it.”
“I saw your memory, you had no idea what would happen. No pony could have controlled that it was not your fault.” Silence fell on the group again as they continued to wait.
She soon saw what she was waiting for as she observed the sun slowly peek above the horizon; the spot that Nova had chosen had placed the sun in a perfect position above a small lake. The sight of the golden orb creeping above the line filled the sky with a multitude of colors further enhanced by the reflections of the sun on the lake. The sky erupted with yellows and reds as the orb continued to rise, it’s beautiful. Twilight had never seen a sunrise like it and she had been around Celestia as she controlled it rise. Twilight knew that Nova must have used his link to the sun to find this spot, she wondered what he would do if he could control it.
For the first time since the sunrise had started Twilight turned to look at Nova and noticed a golden glow around him similar in color to that of the sun, she also felt his magic grow though only slightly in comparison to his overall power. “Thank you for showing me this I haven’t seen a sunrise like it.”
He had almost forgotten that Twilight was there as he felt the suns effect wash over him as it did every day. “Ponies always ask me why I don’t have a cutie mark, I know what it is, I think I always have I just can’t build up the courage to take it. I sit here every day thinking about reaching out to the sun again but that event haunts me every time, each day the need to reach out gets stronger. I know one day I won’t be able to resist and I can’t wait for it but it also scares me more than anything.”
“There’s no reason to be afraid I’m sure Celestia would understand what happened with the sun all those years ago.” Though once finishing the sentence she remembered how scared she had been of her mentor on a number of occasions for minor problems.
“Do you know of any other pony that could move the sun or has power like mine, she might consider me dangerous. Are you 100% sure she would react friendly to me.”
The question hung in the air for a long time “No I’m not 100% sure.”
“You will not inform her about me then?”
“If you don’t want her to know I see no reason why I should inform her, though she may know why you are connected to the sun. If anyone knows about the sun it’s her.”
“Maybe one day Twilight.” Nova had never brought anyone else with him when he observed the sunrises; he had enjoyed sharing this experience with Twilight, someone else to see the beauty that he admired.
“I try to never miss a sunrise; I think it’s the most stunning thing on this planet well that was until I saw you.” Nova noticed a slight blush forming on the mare taking it as a good sign.
Twilight didn’t know how to respond she had never been complimented in this way “… thanks” she replied quietly. “Oh would you look at the time Spike is probably wondering where I am now, come by later though we got a lot to talk more to talk about.” She said as she ran off back to ponyville though stopping once or twice to look back at Nova.
What happened there, she did want to talk to me again though that’s a plus and she turn around a few times while fleeing though. Nova continued to think over the recent event a few more times before deciding it was mostly positive, though he would have to get to the bottom of it maybe one of her friends can shed some light on the situation. Deciding that he got along quite well with Applejack at the party and already knowing she was an early riser he started making his was to Sweet Apple Acres.
Nova continued to think over the past day realizing that he potentially made 6 new friends, one of which could potentially be a lot more. He had not been this close to anypony like these for a long time, he had even shared some of his secrets and it felt good to get them out in the open. He hadn’t been this happy in a long time. They will leave you like the otherswhere did that thought come from? But that thought lingered there for a while he remembered that everyone he had gotten close to had got hurt or worse. I won’t let anything happen this time I won’t.
Finally he reached the farm; he looked around admiring the orchards planted around the farmhouse, in doing so he noticed an orange mare in the distance. Realizing that it was probably Applejack he started making his way towards her. “Hey Applejack how’s you this fine morning?”
“Morin’ Nova just doing my chores.”
“Do you need a hoof?”
“I've learned not to say no to a helping hoof.”
“What do you need done then?”
“We need to collect the apples from these two rows of trees.” Nova looked up at the trees and expanded his magic to encompass all the trees grabbing hold of all the apples on them with his magic and placing them in the baskets on the ground. “Ah didn’t know you were that skilled in magic, even Twilight has trouble doing that many.”
“Well levitation is one of the only things I can do with it so I wouldn’t say I’m that skilled.”
“Ya’ll just being modest now, that was some feat! Many thanks to you sugarcube. Now why did you come over here at this time?”
“I actually wanted to ask you another question about Twilight, you see I kind of told her I think she’s beautiful and she ran off.”
“Oh you like her do yah, well don’t take it too harshly I don’t think she’s had much stallion attention so it’s quite new to her, she’s probably back in the library reading a book about what you said” Applejack said with a slight chuckle.
“Thanks Applejack that takes a load off my mind.”
“Can you pick up as many baskets as you can and follow me back to the barn?”
“Can take them all” as Nova picked up the two saddled over Applejack and started following her towards the farmhouse with the rest in tow.
“Are yah thinkin’ of staying in Ponyville then?”
“I’m definitely thinking about the idea, so far Ponyville has been a very welcoming town.”
“I think you’d fit right in here.”
The barn quickly appeared in front of him and quickly set down all the baskets into it. “You don’t even look out of breath; you carried all them quite a distance there.”
“Not a problem Applejack anytime” he turned to leave and began to head back to Ponyville.
“Oh before I forget sugarcube, Rarity still wants to make you that suit I think you should go see her soon.” “I’ll make that my next port of call then.”
Twilight sat at her study desk obviously flustered, a large pile of books lay behind. “None of these books are any help, all the advice is to general.”
“He obviously likes you Twilight; the only thing that matters is do you like him.” Spike had gotten the story out of her as soon as she had returned. He had thought that Nova had hurt her and that’s why she was so unresponsive, only Spikes threat of going out to hunt down Nova prompted Twilight to tell him what had happened.
“I think so; I’ve never felt like this before. I’ve never had a coltfriend before I don’t know how this works. What if I messed it up by running away this morning.”
“Don’t worry about it Twilight I’m sure you didn’t mess up” as he dodged a book being flung backwards by Twilight. “Will you stop with those books I don’t think you’re going to find much?”
“But if not books then what.”
“Why don’t you ask one of the girls they probably know more?”
“That’s a brilliant idea spike I bet Rarity has lots of advice.” Twilight started walking to the door intent on heading to Rarity’s.
“Maybe you should wash up first Twilight; you look like a bit of a mess.”
“Ye alright…” Twilight turned to look in the mirror “that’s a good idea.”
“Oh it’s you Nova, how are you darling?”
“Good I think and you?”
“Terrific I’m just finishing my work on the girls’ dresses.” Nova looked over to the workstation where Rarity had just been and saw five dresses each with their own distinctive style, he knew immediately they were all meant for the group friends.
“From the look of those dresses I can tell who they are for, are they your own designs?”
“Yes yes it’s what I do. They are for the Grand Galloping Gala; it’s only over a week away. I was actually surprised we were invited back. Last time we attended we caused quite a ruckus.” Nova knew that the gala was one of the most prestigious events in Equestria and was surprised to find out they were all going. Must be due to Twilight’s link with The Princess.
“Well they look fantastic.”
“Now will you come over here, I’ve got to measure you for that suit a promised you. I can see it now you will look so stylish.” Nova noticed a tape measure floating around him.
“You don’t have to go to all this trouble; I actually came here to tell you there was no need for you to make one for me.”
“Oh it’s no trouble at all, I insist it’s not often I get to design a suit. So how has your morning been dear?”
Realizing that resisting Rarity would be pointless, he let himself get measured for the suit. He then continued to explain to her how his morning had gone.
“I wouldn’t worry, I’m with Applejack on this one she’s probably trying to read up on it as we speak.”
“I’m glad you’re both saying the same thing.”
“If you work things out we might need to see about getting another Gala ticket. I should have your suit done in time.”
“One thing at a time.”
“That should be it done! Now you’re free to go.”
“Thanks for all this Rarity; to be honest I’ve never had a suit and kind of looking forward to it now, later.” Nova headed towards the door to exit but was suddenly face to face with a stunning purple mare.

Hey everyone, I am terribly sorry this chapter has come so late and its so small as well. I thought this month I would be quite free to work on this though I was very wrong, I got a new girlfriend and have been spending a lot of time with her and then I also had a bereavement in the family. Just saying this story is not dead and will aim to do a small chapter every week. Now back to the story enjoy.
“Oh… Nova, I didn’t expect to see you here.”
“I was just getting measured for the suit that Rarity generously offered to make for me, what about you Twilight.”
Twilight tried to think of a reason quickly not wanting to tell him that he was there to talk to rarity about him, nothing came to mind that was until Rarity lifted up a dress out of Nova’s line of sight. “Was just checking up on the dress for the Gala” she finally said.
“I saw it earlier; I think you will look great in it.”
“Thanks, Rarity always does a good job” she said blushing slightly.
“Oh sorry Twilight I just remembered I have some errands to do around town I can show you the dress later today.” Rarity quickly left leaving the other two alone outside the shop.
“Well if you got nothing else to do Twilight would you mind walking with me a bit?”
Twilight nodded and walked through town with Nova. “About earlier Twilight, I didn’t mean to cha…”
“It’s not your fault Nova, I over reacted, I just didn’t expect you to come out with something like that, I mean nopony has ever said anything like that to me.” Twilight said interrupting Nova mid sentence. “You did mean what you said didn’t you?”
Nova thought over what to say not wanting to scare her off again, she will flee again, no she seems to be opening up a bit more it should be ok. “Of course I meant it; you are the most beautiful mare I have ever seen.” Nova hoped that Twilight wouldn’t run away again after the compliment but was glad to see the mare still walking beside him with a smile on her face that wasn’t there a second a go.
Twilight was over the moon she was afraid it may have been a one off thing or just something in the moment due to the sunrise but she felt much better now hearing that this pony was really interested in her. It was then she realized she didn’t know much about Nova apart from his link with the sun, his amazing magic and that one memory she had been a part off. Her research mode immediately kicked in she needed to know everything about him. First things first magic “So tell me more about your magic what spells can you do, I bet you can do all different kinds.” Twilight said excitedly.
Nova could see that Twilight really like magic she seemed to bounce in her steps as soon as she mentioned the word. “Sorry to disappoint you the only thing I can really do is levitate and move objects, though I don’t think anypony can move as much or as far as I can.” A large number of rocks and other objects started moving around Nova. “That’s a small example of what I can do, weight is not a problem either, and if I really wanted to I could probably move a good portion of Ponyville all at once.”
Twilight was taken back with the amount of objects orbiting Nova, “That’s amazing Nova though why have you not learned any other spells, you clearly have the magic and concentration for it.”
“I was never taught any spells, when I was young it was just me and my dad and he couldn’t afford to send me to one of those fancy unicorn schools, he was also a earth pony so he didn’t know much about magic. My own fear of myself also stopped me from experimenting with magic on my own.”
“Well it’s too much of a waste of talent for you not to know any spells, I’ll teach you some.” Twilight has always wondered what it would be like on the other end of the student teacher conjunction and this would be the perfect opportunity, it would also be a good excuse to spend more time with Nova.
She only wants you for your magic, no that can’t be right she just wants’ to help. Nova shook off the first though again “If you think it’s a good idea, you know what I’m capable off.”
“Oh don’t worry about that, I will be there with you every step of the way. Don’t you want to do this?” Twilight instantly disappeared from Nova’s side only to appear on the other side of him.
“Wow was that a teleport spell, only some of the greatest unicorns ever have been able to do that.” “Yes it was” happy that she had impressed Nova.
“Twilight I’ve been meaning to ask you, I noticed that all your friends and you have a strange magic with them it’s almost as if there is two separate sources of magic.”
“That’s because we are the elements of harmony.” She said as if it meant nothing.
“The ELEMENTS!” Nova shouted more surprised than he ever thought. He had heard rumours that the elements of harmony were all mares but never expected to come across any of them. The more he thought about it the more sense it made though. six mares with strange magics with them, one incredibly powerful, Twilight is obviously magic and Pinkie Pie most likely laughter I wonder what the others are. “So you stopped Discord and help save Canterlot during the wedding?”
“Yes among other things.” Most ponies knew about the Changeling attack and Discord but the Nightmare moon event was kept under wraps to help Luna with her readjustment.
“So you are magic right and if I had to guess Pinkie is laughter… what were the other elements again.”
“Both correct, c’mon try and get the others generosity, kindness, honesty and loyalty.”
“I’ve only met some of your friends once but I’m not one to back down from a challenge.” He thought back to what he knew about the others. Rarity seems to be going out of her way to make me a suit that could be either kindness or generosity. “Rarity is generosity?”
“Correct only 3 more.”
Hmm Applejack, everything we talked about I could just sense was the truth, I feel like I already trust her. “Applejack is Honesty?”
“Right again.”
The two I know the least about, Rainbow is kindness and Fluttershy is loyalty. “Rainbow is kindness and that leaves Fluttershy as loyalty?” What I didn’t even think that through and I just blurted it out.
“Awwh you almost had you got the last two mixed up. Four out of six isn’t bad though.”
“I’m still amazed that I’m talking with the element of magic you’re a hero Twilight.”
Nova was very interested in some of the other adventures that had occurred, and Twilight was more than happy to retell them though she left out the Nightmare moon incident.
“Twilight I have check back at the inn as I was meant to leave town today though I don’t think I will be doing that now.”
“Stop by the library again at around sunset and we can start on your lessons then.” She said happily knowing that Nova was staying in town.
“Sure thing Twilight I’ll see you there.”

This is disgusting; he seems to becoming more and more friendly with the elements, I will have to find a way to stop this, their influence on him will make it much harder to take control.
First things first I have to stop this thing between him and Twilight. “You did mean what you said didn’t you?” Twilight says to Nova. This is a good chance to end it, “She will flee again”. Darn he didn’t listen again.
Maybe I can use her interest of magic against him to break them apart. “She only wants you for your magic”, again he ignores me though he was a bit more hesitant.
I just need to know if I can influence him, he’s not to sure about this question, maybe if I put all my strength into it. “Rainbow is kindness and Fluttershy is loyalty”, yes he said it without any hesitation, I can definitely do something with this. That did take all my strength out of me though, I must be still quite weak from my awakening.
Hi all again. I know i know another short chapter after such a long time, I am sorry for that, recently got a new job and had 2 weeks holidays, seems things keep getting in the way. I will more than likely keep to a schedule similar to this but will try to give a bit more. I may be releasing a bonus scene to this chapter very soon I am still undecided. Let me know what you think.
“What happened here!” Nova said out loud as he walked into his room at the inn.
Looking around he saw the room had been trashed; many of the furnishings had been completely destroyed. The bed was turned on its side, the cabinets taken apart as if somepony was looking for something. Nova looked around trying to find some of the numerous objects he had collected over his years of travelling, many found broken beyond repair.
All my stuff, who could have done this. What about my bits they can’t have found them. Nova instantly ran to the hidden space he found beneath one of the floor boards. Thinking back at how he had earned all his money he didn’t could not imagine having to do that all again. Opening the floor board he stared with disbelieve at the empty compartment; No this can’t be happening.
Snapping himself out of his stupor he continued to look around the room for clues to whom could have done this, yet his search turned up empty. Nothing, no clues at all, maybe the reception saw somepony. Quickly he gathered what he could salvage from his belongings at made his way down to the reception.
“Hello there Mr Core, a stallion left a letter for you here earlier today, he said it was for your urgent attention” the Landlady said at the front, desk passing the sealed letter to Nova.

Nova reread the letter again a few times wondering who it could be, but a determined smile came across his face he could feel that he was going to get his bits back. The landlady doesn’t seem to know about the room yet, no need to get the police involved with this.
“I’m sorry about the damage I done to the room; I can get a bit carried away sometimes. This should cover the damage and the rent.” Nova handed over the bag of bits that he always carried on himself. Great, technically I am now broke. The mare behind the counter just looked at the bag of bits and stared wondering what had happened to the room for this stallion to hand over so many bits.
“Twilight sorry I will be a bit late tonight for the lesson something has come up that I have to take care off.” Nova said at the door of the library.
“Is it anything I can help you with” Twilight inquired noticing a change in Nova’s demeanour.
“No this is something I have to do myself; In the meantime would you mind looking after some of my belongings I got nowhere to store them at the moment.”
“Sure Nova that won’t be a problem” Nova almost threw the bag at Twilight upon her finishing the sentence.
“Thanks Twilight, see you tonight.” He shouted as he galloped off.
Twilight returned into the library and set the belongings down. What’s up with Nova he seems a bit preoccupied what could have happened that demands such hurry? Twilight looked over to the belongings again sensing some residual magic from the objects inside, curiosity got the better of her as she opened the bag and closely examined the objects. On many of the damaged objects she sensed they had been recently broken by magic but not from Nova. Had Nova been attacked? -- Nova reached the edge of the forest just as the sunset, scanning the area he could sense a number of ponies hiding in the bushes and trees. Only one was standing in the open, he was a dark coated unicorn with a green mane. The unicorn from the bar is that what this is about. This is why I never stay in one place for too long. Nova approached the unicorn “You destroyed a lot of my belongings, give me back my bits now and I might just let you go!” he said angrily.
“Let me go” the stallion said mockingly. “You made a fool of me at the bar, so now I have to teach you a lesson.” Upon finishing the sentence the ponies that he had sensed earlier jumped out of the surrounding area. “You see you are greatly out numbered here. I will be keeping your bits and will make sure you never hustle any other pony again.”
“You are greatly underestimating me what I done at the bar was only the smallest bit of strength, no matter your numbers this will end badly for you. Last chance to give me my bits and walk away.” Nova said confidently. The surrounding ponies all chuckled upon hearing Nova’s speech.
“I do realize you have talent, but there are 12 of us you really think you stand much of a chance.” The unicorns and earth ponies tightened the circle around him, getting closer and closer. “Get him!” shouted the dark coated stallion.
Nova braced himself for the fight as he began to charge his magic looking for objects to throw at the incoming attackers, he quickly found some rocks and started throwing them at the closest ones to him only to him. Winding the ponies that he hit, the other unicorns quickly caught on to this and began catching the objects out of the air before they hit their comrades.
I have never had to fight this many ponies. Using more magic he put threw larger and larger objects, and began to use large sticks as close range weapons. One earth pony managed to sneak up on him and place an inhibitor on his horn. For the briefest moment all his projectiles and weapons dropped to the ground until the ring shattered and the fight continued.
His strategy seemed to be working, none of the attackers had been seriously hurt but their efforts seemed to be futile. They would run out of energy were as he would not and then he would be able to get to the dark coated stallion uninhibited. He was about to know another earth pony down his large tree branch when he was suddenly pinned down by two Pegasus that had previously went unnoticed. How do I never see them coming. As he was about to knock the two new attackers out of the way he felt something sharp slide into his back.
He had been stabbed; the pain caused him to lose concentration. Many objects he was controlling dropped to the ground. As he felt the same pain again from another side he screamed out in agony. “Not so tough with a few knives in you”.
Using his magic he felt for the knives and pulled them from his body. The wounds began to heal over but the pain remained, Nova was angry, angrier than he ever has. He felt something stir inside him, something feed on the anger, he lost control. “YOU HAVE MADE A GRAVE MISTAKE”
