Chapter 1: Another New World

In the beautiful land of Hyrule, the sun shined down upon the grassy fields . While the land of Hyrule itself had quite a large empty field, it held a beauty unlike any other, especially when the sun rises. On the field laid a single person, a small boy in green clothes. He was resting on the grass of the field enjoying the rays of the sun as he took a small nap, a small hat covering part of his face as he relaxed In the fields. This boy was Link, the Hero of Time, savior of both the lands of Hyrule and Termina. Many could not believe that a small boy such as Link could ever be a hero, but they would change their minds upon seeing his expert swordsman skills that were unmatched throughout Hyrule.

Link became the experienced sword fighter he is from facing monsters, demons, and a man with the power equal to a god and in his most recent adventure an actual demon god who could destroy the world with the moon. Link still remembered the battle he had with Majora in Termina an alternate world that was similar to Hyrule. It had been two weeks since Links adventures in Termina and while he would miss the friends he had made in that world he was on a quest that he promised that he would complete until the very end.

Suddenly a purple ball of light with wings popped out of his hat and floated above his face.

"Come on Link we have been resting here for hours." The small purple light said. "Don't tell me you're going to be sleeping here all day. What if some monsters decide to ambush us while you're asleep, then what are we going to do."

"Tael it's only been half an hour and don't worry we're going to be fine." Link said with a wave of his hand. "Besides what's the worse that could happen, monsters don't attack you during the day unless you provoke them."

"I guess you're right Link." Tael said as he floated around Link head. "I mean leaving Termina to actually see a whole new world and with you seemed so exciting. Now that I'm here I'm so nervous. I've never been anywhere without my sister and spending time alone with the skull kid when he was possessed was really scary and painful. I mean look at me a small fairy in a whole new world and all I can do is be nervous."

Link tilted his hat back to show his blue eyes, which were then covered by part of his yellow hair. "I know it's scary being in a entirely new place trust me I was the same. I was never allowed to leave the Kokiri forest but when I did leave it felt so different from what I'm use to all these places and things I never seen before. Though after awhile I got used to it and I was amazed at how much different it was from the forest. Trust me Tael you'll get used to it soon." Link told the fairy.

Tael sighed and sat on top of Links head. "I guess you're right Link there is no need for me to be so nervous. Thanks for the advice Link I really needed that."

Link smiled and lay back down and put his hat back over his eyes. "No problem Tael, what are friends for."

As Link and Tael rested on the field Link could have sworn he heard something behind him. Link quickly sat up and gripped his swords handle with his left hand as he looked around wondering if someone or something was there.

"Link what's wrong." Tael asked, wondering why Link got up suddenly.

"I thought I heard something." Link said as he continued to survey the area. "Just making sure nothing decides to sneak up on us."

When he didn't hear anything else Link sat down on the field. This was one of the many problems Link had to face while he traveled through Hyrule. While the land of Hyrule was a beautiful place, it was plagued with monsters that would kill any ordinary person luckily Link was far from normal he was a powerful swordsmen who defeated many monsters at his current age.

Suddenly Link heard the noise again he quickly drew his sword and stood up to survey the area. Link saw that nothing was in the area until he felt the ground rumbling under him. He then looked down to see cracks were forming right, he quickly jumped back to avoid whatever it was from landing a surprise attack on him. Soon a monster popped out of the ground, it was a giant yellow worm that had beady orange eyes and black pupils.

"Tael what is that thing!?" Link asked as he stepped back from the humongous beast.

"Link that's a Moldorm." Tael said as he floated next to Link. "Though this one is bigger than the normal ones there are and it looks like it has something on its back." Link quickly looked on the creatures back and saw that there were four other beings on it. These creatures looked a lot like lizards however unlike normal lizards they much larger were wearing armor on the top of their chests loin clothes and a sword on their side and acting as if they were human. The monsters that link recognized sitting on the Moldorms back were known as Lizalfos.

"Here I was thinking today might just be a relaxing day." Link said, as he got ready to fight. "Well better kill these things before they kill of us. Tael can you fly up and find its weak point." Tael nodded with his entire body and then flew up to get a better view.

Soon the four Lizalfos on the Moldorm back screeched which was the signal for the worm to charge at Link. Link quickly pulled out a pair of bunny ears and placed them on his head. As the Moldorm was about to reach Link he ran to the left leaving behind a cloud of dirt. The Moldorm turned to the right to see Link standing a few feet away. It charged at him again but like before link easily dodged and caused it to miss again. The Moldorm raised half of its body then went straight down and began digging before it disappeared underground.

Link surveyed the area wondering where it would appear next when he felt the ground shaking under him. He quickly ran forward just in time for the Moldorm to come out of the ground. In its many arms it held a giant boulder, which he threw at Link who easily dodged it.

"Link!" Link turned his head to the side to see Tael was floating next to him. "The Moldorm weak point is the end of its tail strike there but be careful the more you strike it the angrier and tougher it gets." Link nodded glad to have that information and turned his attention back to the Moldorm.

Link seeing that the Moldorm was coming out of its hole he made a dash for where its tail was going to pop out. Once Link saw the end of the tail he did a quick horizontal slash. The Moldorm screeched in pain it quickly turned around and saw Link with his sword out. The Moldorm became furious and charged at Link again. Link waited till the Moldorm came close enough for him to do his next move. Link then began running straight at the Moldorm once he was the right distance he jumped up into the air and landed on its head. He then jumped again right over the Lizalfos as he was coming down he saw that tail was in the right spot for his next attack he brought his sword in downward stab motion and managed to stab the Moldorm in its tail.

The Moldorm once again screeched and Link noticed that it's body was now a dark red color. This meant two things, one the creature had to be near death and two it was a lot angrier and stronger. The Moldorm soon screeched and four lumps came off its body. The bumps started moving and were revealed to be mini versions of Moldorm. Soon the mini variations charged at Link who with his quick reflexes pulled out his bow and already had one arrow loaded and fired it at one of the Mini Moldorms killing it instantly.

The other two were quickly shot dead from Links arrows and as the last one was about to attack Link he stabbed it with his gilded sword. The monsters then were covered in blue flame as their bodies were burned to ash. Link pulled his sword out and swung it to get rid of the green blood that was on it. He however was too distracted with the tiny monsters to see the Moldorm came up from behind him and crashed into him. Link felt some of his ribs crack as the monster crashed into him it was like a goron ramming into him half force. He then felt something tightening around his stomach Link looked down to see that it grew legs and they were holding onto him. Link tried to pry them off with his arms but they weren't budging, they then began digging deep into his skin causing some blood to seep out. Soon a massive boulder came into view, the Moldorm was planning to crash Link into it.

Link reached for his item pouch and felt around it till he found what he was looking for. He then pulled out a mask that resembled a brown face with its mouth in a neutral look with its cheek puffed out with some hair on the top and blue beady eyes. Link quickly put on the mask and soon felt his body changing. Every bone in his body was shifting to become bigger and some new bones were growing inside, he was transforming and every time he did this it would always be painful. He tried his very hardest but the pain was too much for Link he let out a loud scream soon a light covered him and caused the Moldorm to be temporarily blinded.

When the light was gone a new creature stood in the spot Link was in. In his place was a large brown creature that had white hair, blue eyes, a necklace and on its side was a mark of a strange symbol and was wearing a green hat and a kilt covering his front. This creature was a Goron one of the tribes that lived in Hyrule and it was one of Links transformations. The Moldorm did not expect for the sudden increase in size and weight, which made it drop Link who rolled away as soon he fell to the ground. The Moldorm however was too distracted and didn't notice that it was still charging into the large boulder. It soon crashed into it shattering the boulder and became dizzy from the pain

Link while still rolling made a quick u turn and charged at the Moldorm and began charging his magic. As he got close to Moldorm tail spikes emerged from his body. As Link came close to the Moldorm he turned left as soon as he felt one of his spikes latch onto the tail. Link continued to roll but was stuck in place as he was still stuck to the tail. He continued rolling going faster and looking at the Moldorm one could see the bottom half of its body was beginning to rip off. It tried to escape from Links grasp but he was moving too fast for the Moldorm to escape. Then it happened Link began rolling with the bottom half of Moldorm rolling with him, he stopped rolling and stood up and removed the torn body from his back.

Link looked back at Moldorm to see it going crazy as green blood was pouring out of its ripped body, soon it stopped and began exploding one body part at a time. The four Lizalfos fell to the ground in a daze since their monster they were controlling was defeated and exploded. Link then put both hands to the side of his face and a light once again formed around him. Link was now back to normal, luckily removing the mask wasn't as painful as putting it on. Link drew his sword and shield then got in a battle stance ready to fight. The Lizalfos got up and drew their short swords ready to do battle with the hero.

What both sides weren't expecting was a portal to suddenly appear between them and for it to suck them in. The monsters tried there hardest to not be sucked in but since they were idiots it was very easy for them to be sucked in. Link managed to dig his feet into the ground and managed not to be pulled in

"Link help." Link suddenly looked to his left to see that Tael was being sucked into the portal. Link seeing that his friend was being pulled in quickly dashed towards him before he was sucked in. Once Link was close enough he removed his cap and caught Tael in it. He quickly realized his error as he placed his hat back on his head. He wasn't holding onto anything, which caused him to be sucked into portal.

As Link went through the portal he felt his body was changing almost like when he used his transformation masks. Link then noticed something else; all of his items were flying out. He panicked and quickly tried to grab them but for some reason couldn't move inside the portal. Link desperately tried to reach out to stop his items from falling out but he couldn't do anything about it. He suddenly felt something hit his head and knock him out.

"Now Twi ya sure this spell is safe?" Applejack asked as she looked at the lavender alicorns horn, which was shining brighter then, normal when she usually did a spell.

"Don't worry Applejack I triple checked it and this spell won't have any negative effects on us." Twilight said confidently as she focused on the spell.

"Why did you even bring us out here Twilight?" Rainbow said as she floated next to Applejack with a bored look on her face. "I mean you just brought us all out here and told us you found a new spell which you didn't even say what it does."

"Well I found this spell in a book which I didn't even know I had. The thing about it was in a weird language, which no matter what spell I used, it couldn't be translated; luckily there were instructions on how to do the spell. Besides isn't in exciting to learn about something totally new."

"Yeah exciting." Rainbow said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.

"Well whatever it does lets hope nothing too terrible might happen." Rarity said as light soon began to gather around in one spot.

"I hope nothing scary comes out of there." Fluttershy said as she looked at the light nervously.

"Yeah can you imagine a giant monster coming out from there or maybe a huge dragon breathing fire on meanie ponies or how about a weird creature comes out from there and is stuck here until we can find some way to send him back but in the end he ends up staying with us because he really likes it here." Pinkie blurted out.

The mares stared at Pinkie wondering where all that came from but then realized who they were talking about and shook their heads. Soon the light had become one large orb and was shining even brighter. The mares all looked at the light in awe as it grew in size. Suddenly the light shifted as four creatures came out from it. The mares were surprised to see something come out from the light. They looked at the creatures curiously wondering what they were and why they looked so alike and strange. Suddenly the light was shifting again when something else came out of the orb. It was a yellow furred colt wearing strange green clothes and landed dead center of the four other creatures.

The Lizalfos stood up and looked at each other before looking at the small colt whom they recognized as Link. One of them screeched and raised their sword ready to bring it down on Link. Rainbow quickly seeing the danger the colt was in flew straight at one of Lizalfos and rammed into it. Applejack was next to respond she ran up and bucked the monster in the gut sending it back a few feet.

Twilight stopped the spell and quickly stood up. "Fluttershy Rarity Pinkie get that colt out of here we'll take care of these things before they can hurt him." Twilight said as she charged her horn ready to help fight. Fluttershy and Rarity nodded while Pinkie saluted. Pinkie quickly grabbed Link and put him on her back. She then began running away from the monsters with Fluttershy and Rarity right behind her.

Twilight fired a beam of magic at one of the Lizalfos which struck its chest and made in fall to the ground in pain then was knocked out . Twilight was about to fire again when she noticed another Lizalfos was about swing at her, she quickly raised a shield and protected herself from its attack. The Lizalfos kept attacking the shield but it wouldn't break. Before it could swing again a hoof slammed into its side and launched it towards the ground. Applejack quickly bucked the Lizalfos in the head knocking it out; Twilight lowered her shield and nodded her head in thanks before grabbing the two fallen Lizalfos in her aura. Rainbow dash was in the air dodging the fireballs the Lizalfos tried to hit her with. Once she saw that it was panting very hard and she immediately dive bombed it and delivered a swift hook to the side of its head knocking it out. Twilight got the Lizalfos Rainbow knocked and brought it over to the other two.

"Wouldn't have any negative effects on us my flank." Rainbow said. "Just what the hay are these things and why are they trying to hurt that colt."

"I don't know rainbow but whatever they are they've been taken care of. Wait a second wasn't there a fourth one where is it." Twilight asked looking around for the fourth monster.

"Applejack didn't you have that one what happened to it." Rainbow questioned her friend.

"I was sure I knocked it out but I didn't check since Twilight needed my help at ta moment." Applejack replied.

"This is not good." Twilight said with a grimace. "We need to find that fourth one and quick."

"Pinkie dear be careful with that colt you might drop him." Rarity said as she saw how close Link was falling off the party pony’s back as she slowly bounced with each step they took. "We don't want anything to happen to him now do we, after all those ghastly monsters were trying to hurt him."

"Don't you worry Rarity he's in good hooves you can count on that." Pinkie said as she continued to bounce. "Besides doesn't he look like he's having fun? "

Rarity looked at Link who even though was knocked out didn't look too well with the entire bouncing Pinkie was doing. Rarity sighed knowing she couldn't reason with her and decided to continue walking with her.

That's when one of the monsters from before landed in front of the trio. The Lizalfos stood and yelp at the three and slowly walked toward them. Rarity looked at the other two, Fluttershy was too scared of the monster to move and Pinkie was slowly walking back with nervous smile. Rarity wanted to do something but she didn't know what to do with a monster like this. She quickly looked around to find something to use against it.

The Lizalfos then jumped aiming for Pinkie who quickly threw the colt to Rarity and she manages to catch him with her magic and moved out of the way of the monsters attack. The Lizalfos screeched and went to slash at her but found that she wasn't there. Suddenly it felt itself being blasted away from behind.

"I never leave home without my party cannon." Pinkie said as she held her party cannon in front of her. The Lizalfos turned around a shot a fireball at the Pinkie who ducked under it. Once she looked back she saw the Lizalfos was not in front of her. She heard a yelp and looked behind her to see the Lizalfos landing behind her and raised it sword to strike. She simply turned her party cannon around and fired it directly into its face blinding it. Before it had a chance to recover it was hit in the head by something hard.

The Lizalfos turned around to see that a large stone was being held in a blue aura when the stone went in for another attack the Lizalfos opened its mouth and chomped down on it breaking it into small pieces. The Lizalfos turned toward Rarity seeing that she had many stones in her magical aura and the colt on her back.

"I won't let a ruffian like you hurt my friends." She said throwing another stone at the Lizalfos who chomped down on it again. It then leaped forward ready to his Rarity with a jump strike but was knocked out of the air. It fell to the ground with a thud but got back up. The Lizalfos was getting angry every time they got in his way.

He opened his mouth and shot a stream of fire into the ground as the fire burned it jumped up in the air and slammed it into the ground. Rocks covered in flames were sent flying towards the two ponies and they were moving too fast for Rarity to catch with her magic luckily they were all poorly aimed and missed the two intended targets. Some rocks however managed to hit Link on his back burning through his clothes and burning his skin and fur. Link yelled in pain as the hot rocks burning his skin.

Rarity gasped and quickly grabbed the rocks and threw them off Link before they could do anymore damage. The Lizalfos then began running towards Rarity now that she was distracted but was suddenly stopped by two blue colored eyes stopping it in its tracks.

"How dare you." Fluttershy said as she stared at Lizalfos who backed away in fear. "You crossed the line trying to hurt my friends but now that you hurt a poor defenseless colt I won't let you get away with that. "

Lizalfos couldn't look away as it kept staring at her it felt large amounts of fear building up inside. It then fell over and was knocked out. Once she was finished giving the Lizalfos the stare she flew over to Rarity to check on Link.

"Rarity let me see him he must be really hurt." Fluttershy asked wanting to check on Links injuries. Rarity nodded and gave Link to Fluttershy. She then checking herself making sure her coat wasn't ruined. As Fluttershy checked on Link she heard the sounds of hooves, she turned her head to see Twilight, Rainbow and Applejack were running towards them with the other three Lizalfos held by Twilights magic

"Girls are you alright, when we saw that one of these things weren't with the rest we were afraid they came after you" Twilight asked checking if anything was wrong.

"We're fine Twilight and that ghastly beast is right over there." Rarity said pointing toward the knocked out Lizalfos. "Good thing Fluttershy used the stare when we needed it."

"Um girls I hate to be a bother but I think we really need to get this colt some medical attention." Fluttershy said showing the burns on Links back and also the small stab marks he received from his fight with the Moldorm.

"Yeah Fluttershy's right you five go take him to the hospital and try to find out anything about him, while I take these things and find out what they are." Twilight suggested. The girls nodded and they went their separate ways.

As the girls took Link to the hospital Tael looked out from underneath Links hat. He gulped as he looked at his new surrounding and Link current condition. "I don't think we're in Hyrule or Termina." Tael said before ducking back inside.

Chapter 2: The Colt who Survived it All

As Twilight left the field she and her friends were, she was slowly coming up to the town of Ponyville. As she entered the town and started running through the town some ponies watched as their princess ran through the town with the Lizalfos being carried with her magic. They wondered what was going on and what those things their princess had in her magic but decided to ignore it, after all a lot of strange things happened in Ponyville and this just happened to be another one.

As Twilight ran she wondered what she was going to do with these monsters. She had never seen these things before and she didn't know where she pulled them. She was glad she did though; from the looks of it these monsters were about to kill that colt. Even though she wanted to learn more about these creatures she couldn't keep them in Ponyville they were too dangerous.

She was lucky Princess Celestia had already sent a whole group of royal guards to the castle but even with them these monsters were to dangerous to keep in Ponyville and she knew if she did the situation might get worse. One thing for sure, they wanted that colt dead and the farther away they were from him the better.

Twilight was slowly approaching her castle with the monsters held in her in her aura. As she approached the front entrance she saw the two guards that were standing in front of the castle doors. When the guards noticed their princess they stared wide-eyed at the sight of the monsters being held in her magic. They shook their heads and quickly opened the doors to the castle for the princess; if she was the one who take care of those things they weren't much of a threat.

The guards nodded and went back to their original position knowing the princess can handle the situation by herself, though they were still cautious. As Twilight entered her castle she still needed to figure out a place to hold these creatures. She tried to remember if there were any significant rooms that came with her castle that came to mind. That's when she remembered that there was a room that came with some jail cells.

She wondered why she even needed a room like that in her castle since Ponyville barely had any crime. She was planning on having the cells removed and converted into something else but she was glad she kept them the way they are. Twilight then made her way toward the room, which she luckily remembered where it was,

After a few minutes traversing the castle Twilight had found where the room was. She opened the door to the room and looked around the interior. It was quite a large room with a total of twenty-one cells seven on the left and right side with the other seven in the front. Thick crystal bars heavily protected each cell and the only thing in each cell was a cot. Twilight also noticed a desk in the corner of the room next to the door. It was currently empty but she had a feeling she would need to assign somepony now.

As Twilight made her way to the desk she searched around for the keys she went behind it and saw that it had a couple of drawers she opened up one of them and found the keys to the cells. She then made her way towards the one of the cells and opened it up and tossed the still knocked out monsters inside. Once inside Twilight locked the door and for extra security she placed a enchantment on the door shocking the monster back into unconscious if they tried to escape.

Once she had successfully secured the monsters inside the cell Twilight took a step back and wondered what to do next. She needed to send them back where they were from but having no idea where she brought these from she needed somepony who might have a better idea.

Twilight then made her way towards her room. If she needed a expert who knew about Equestria and the outside lands then she knew the pony for the job. Twilight reached the door to her room and pulled the doors then entered.

Twilight's room was actually quite small then what other ponies would expect one of their own princesses to have. It was a simple squared shaped room with a double sized bed with the headboard sporting a small version of her castle on top there were two windows one on the left and right side of the bed. On the left side was a bookshelf filled to the brim with books with many different topics and on the right side was a desk where she did all of her studying or paper work with the very book she learned that spell that brought those monsters.

Quickly looking towards her desk she pulled one of the drawers with her magic and pulled out a blank scroll and quill. She dipped the quill in ink and began writing.

Dear Princess Celestia,

I am sending you this letter on a matter I need your help with. Recently I have discovered a book that I had not seen before in my previous library, which leaves me guessing it came with the castle. The book was written in a language I had never seen before. I tried to decipher it but was only able to decipher a small portion of it. That portion contained a spell, which I memorized on how to perform. I practiced using it outside of Ponyville as to assure nothing terrible would happen to the town if the spell ended up being a danger to anypony. The spell had been successful in creating a portal however what I did not expect was for four strange identically looking creatures and a small colt to pop out from it. I wondered what these creatures and why a colt sprung out from them but didn't have time to question when one of these creatures had gotten up and once it saw the colt it immediately went to attack it with a small sword. Me and the other girls managed to stop it and the other monsters before they could hurt him. I was planning on sending them both back however I do not know where the portal pulled them from and have no way of sending the colt back without endangering his life. I would like to send you the book containing the spell hoping you would know a solution to this and figure out what the language is. I would also like for you to send somepony to come and pick up these monsters to figure out what they are and to send them back where they came from.

Once Twilight finished the letter she rolled it up and tied it she then grabbed the book with her magic. She then made her way out of her room and began walking towards Spikes. Once she had arrived she pulled open the door and saw Spike lying in his bed reading a comic. Spike looked up from his comic and saw that Twilight was at his door.

"Twilight you're back." Spike said in a cheerful tone. He placed the comic book down and got up from his basket to walk over to her. "So how did it go, did the spell work?"

"It worked spike but some unexpected things happened during the test." Twilight said with sigh. "Anyways I need you to send both this letter and the book I found to princess Celestia." Twilight brought the two mentioned items forward.

"Uh sure." Spike said grabbing the two items out of her magic. He then burned them with his magical breath, which turned to smoke and floated off towards Canterlot. "What exactly happened Twilight, what did the spell do."

Twilight sighed and shook her head. "Well you see Spike the spell ended up creating a portal. At first it seemed nothing could go wrong but it ended up bringing a colt a four creatures that look alike. I wondered what they are but didn't have a chance when they immediately got up and tried to kill that colt. "

"Whoa is he alright and where are the others are they ok." Spike asked.

"Don't worry Spike they're alright we took care of those creatures and they went to take him to the hospital he had some injuries that could end up being a problem if they aren't taken care of. Twilight replied. I brought those creatures here and I have them kept in the cells in the castle. Princess Celestia is hopefully going to send somepony to come and pick them up. Send some guards to keep watch until they come and get them I have to go to the hospital and check up on that colt. "

"Don't worry Twilight you can count on me." Spike said with a salute.

Twilight nodded and left Spikes room. She then began walking out of her castle and towards the hospital. Twilight began thinking of what happened when she used that spell.

'I still wonder what those creatures are, they resemble lizards but last I check lizards don't walk on two legs or breath fire. Twilight thought to herself. And why did they try to kill that colt are they just feral animals. No that can't be it they showed some forms of intelligence albeit very little so they attacked him for a purpose but what was it. I still don't understand where that colt came from. He must live somewhere where those lizard creatures inhabit but why would he live somewhere there. It doesn't matter now when I find out where he lives I'll send him back his parents must be worried sick.'

Twilight then realized she had already reached the hospital, she was so lost in her thoughts she didn't notice she had already arrived. Twilight entered the hospital and was greeted with the sight of the empty lobby the only pony here was nurse Snowheart who was currently doing paper work behind here desk.

Snowheart looked up and saw Twilight was walking inside. Oh Twilight what a surprise, how can I help you. She asked politely.

"Hello Nurse Snowheart I was wondering if my friends came here with a colt." Twilight asked the nurse.

"Oh yes they did we couldn't believe a colt that young was hurt like that we immediately sent him to a room to get better. He is currently staying in room 201 on the east wing of the hospital. Your friends should be over there as well."

Twilight thanked her and immediately began making her way toward the room the colt was currently being kept. As soon as Twilight reached the second floor she was tackled to the ground by a pink blur.

"Ohmygosh Twilight your okay I thought for sure those mean monsters would wake up and her hurt you." Pinkie said hugging Twilight very hard.

"Pinkie I'm fine now could you please let go." Twilight asked as she felt her breath being taken away from how tight she was hugging her.

"Ok." Pinkie simply said and stood back up.

Twilight stood up as well and took a deep breath before looking to see that all her friends were sitting on a couple chairs outside a room. Rainbow currently had her head on her hoof with a bored look on her face while both Rarity and Fluttershy were calmly sitting down and Applejack was standing in the middle of the hall.

"Hey Twilight you're back." Rainbow said. "So you took care of those lizards things."

"Yes Rainbow I did Princess Celestia should be sending somepony to pick those things up. Hopefully she can figure out where they came from and send them back." Twilight informed them all. "So how is the colt was it anything to serious."

"Nah the doc said those burns weren't anything too serious and those stab wounds on his chests weren't too deep." Applejack replied. "They jus' using a healing spell on him to fix him right as rain."

"Phew that's good, though I still wonder what that colt was doing with those creatures." Twilight mused.

"And as to where he got those clothes from I never seen anything like them before." Rarity added in. "They just seem so foreign."

"Geez Rarity a colt comes out of nowhere and is almost killed and you only care about what he's wearing." Rainbow said.

"Now Dash I was concerned for his safety as well but once those ghastly creatures were taken care I couldn't help but admire his clothing. I must ask where he got it from." Rarity said.

Dash simply rolled her eyes. Suddenly the door to the colt’s room opened up. The Doctor came out along with Nurse Redheart. The mares looked at the two and took noticed of the grim looks on their face. The six immediately tensed up upon seeing the look on their faces.

"Doctor is everything alright, is he ok?” Fluttershy asked.

The doctor sighed and shook his head and looked at the group of mares. Before I tell you what happened can somepony tell me where they found this colt.

The mares looked at each other wondering what was wrong. Twilight stepped up to explain where they found him. "Well you see Doctor I was practicing a new spell I found and it opened up a portal and it brought this colt. Don't worry I'll find a way to send him back."

"DON'T." The Doctor suddenly shouted causing the mares to jump slightly. Seeing what he did he cleared his throat and took a deep breath. "I'm sorry for that it was very unprofessional of me, but Princess I must ask you to not send that colt back from where he came."

The mares were surprised at what the doctor was asking.

"Now doc in all due respect, why would ya not want that colt to go back his family must be worried sick." Applejack asked.

"Yeah and won't his friends be wondering where he is right now." Pinkie asked as well.

Doctor Horse and Nurse Redheart looked at each other.

“We should tell them we couldn’t just hide it. Nurse Redheart suggested.

The Doctor sighed he then looked back at the mares.

"The reason I am asking you of this is because when I was using my magic to heal him I did a scan on his body to see if he had any injuries from the past that we should be careful about while operating on him. What we found was horrifying." The doctor said with a trembling voice.

We have found multiple signs of stab and cut wounds, bite marks, his bones have signs of being broken many times either from being crushed or hitting the ground from a high altitude. He has also been burned electrocuted and signs of excess amounts of water in his lungs shows signs of him drowning and even frostbite. We have also found signs of magic being used on him to either burn or freeze and signs of poison. All these wounds didn't happen just once or twice all these injuries that have been sustained happened so many times that we don't know the exact amount."

Once the Doctor finished explaining all of Link injuries all the mares had faces of complete horror on their faces. Pinkies mane and tail went flat and she had tears brimming her eyes, Fluttershy and Rarity both had their hooves to there mouths in horror, While Rainbow Applejack and Twilight stared wide eyed and there mouth were open in shock.

"These injuries cover his entire except his wings which show signs of no damage at all, how his wings remained damage is quite strange." The Doctor finished his explanation

"Y-You're kidding right, he's just a colt what could possibly cause him to have so many injuries." Rainbow yelled outraged that somepony young could have been so injured,

"We don't know it could be from parents who find joy in hurting their son like this or possibly from where he lived. Princess Twilight with all due respect do not send this colt back. We'll keep him here in the hospital and run a few tests on him see if there is anything else wrong with him. After we are done we'll send him to a orphanage and hope he can find a better home."

"C-Can we s-s-see him." Fluttershy asked barely able to get her words out.

The Doctor nodded. "Yes you may but please try not to wake him. He needs all the rest he can get."

The mares nodded and went inside the room very quietly as both the doctor and nurse left. As the mares entered the room they saw him laying on the bed with bandage covering his chest and his clothes except for his hat were on the small table next to his bed. The mares stood around his bed and looked down at him. They just couldn't believe it, here was a colt that went through pain that would have killed so many ponies yet he slept peacefully on the bed as if nothing happened.

"It just ain't right how could this colts parents let this happen to him." Applejack said looking down at him.

"I swear if I ever find this kids parents I'm gonna give them a piece of my mind." Rainbow said as she threw a few punches at the air.

"Wherever this young colt lived it must have been quite terrible." Rarity said with a shake of her head.

Pinkie pulled out three balloons, two were just standard ones while the third read get well soon she took the balloons and tied them to his bed. "Don't you worry when you wake up I'm going to throw you the biggest welcome to Ponyville and get well soon party ever." Pinkie said in a whisper tone.

"Come on girls let's let him rest it's been a long day." Twilight said making her way outside with the others following her. Fluttershy then stopped and looked back at the small colt for a bit. She sighed and left the room with the others. Twilight's magic then grasped the door handle and slowly closed it.

The room was quite until a there was rustling sound. On Links head Tael popped out from Links hat he floated above Link and looked down at him.

"Oh this is not good Link is unconscious I don't know where we are and he's a pony." Tael said to himself as he paced back and forth in the air. “Ok Tael calm down from what Tatl said Link could just play the song of healing and turn back to normal. Let me just go find his ocarina."

Tael then flew over to where Links tunic was and searched for his adventure pouch. Tael found it and opened it up but when he looked inside all of Links items were gone.

"Oh no oh no oh no." Tael said becoming more stressed out. "Ok just calm down Tatl also said that Link can change into his other forms even if he was already in one. I'll just need to get a mask and put it on him." Tatl then opened Links mask pouch but when he looked inside he was horrified to find that all of Links masks were gone.

"Ok this just went from bad to worst." Tael said becoming even more stressed. "Ok Link in a new body he doesn't have his weapons or masks and we are completely different world how could this get any worse." That's when Tael saw something at the window. It was a bit strange it was purple shaped ball thing that had green eyes on a small mouth and wings. Tael chuckled a bit seeing how it almost looked like a fairy. Tael then realized something whenever he moved the creature followed him exactly. He then made some faces that are copied perfectly by the creature in front of him. That's when Tael realized he was looking at his own reflection.

Tael did the only thing he could do, he blacked out.

Chapter 3: Who What Where Am I

Those were the only sounds that echoed across the castle of the two sisters. It was one of the few things that made a sound in the abandoned castle. The source of this noise sat upon the throne that once belonged to Celestia, a large cloak covered his whole body. The only visible features were his yellow eyes and clawed hand. He took a deep breath and sighed.

"Jeez it sure is boring around here." He said as he stretched. "I didn't realize making a complicated plan to make sure that my enemies would have a slow and painful death but waiting for the right time to do it is just exhausting."

The figure then snapped his claws and arising from the ground was another cloak figure but this one had bright green eyes instead. He drew a large dagger from under his cloak and stabbed it to the ground as he knelled down and bowed.

"How can I serve you master." The assassin kneeling on the ground asked.

"Aw quit the formalities we're friends here." The cloak figure asked. "Come on tell me your name and I'll tell you mine." He said with a wave with his clawed hand.

"You know the rules of the Garo master." The Garo said.

"Yes yes of course." He then raised his hand, which was balled up in a fist. "The Garo cannot reveal their identities, to kill without leaving a trace, and of course your biggest rule to die without leaving a corpse behind." He listed each rule as he raised three fingers. "Fine and here I thought you wanted to be friends."

"Master I ask of you again why have you summoned me." The Garo asked with a bit of irritation hidden in his voice.

"Oh right I have a job for you." The cloaked figure said as he materialized a picture of a colt on it, he tossed it at the Garo who stabbed it with his dagger. He looked at the picture and saw a small yellow colt in green clothes. "I need you to kill that little colt, you see we have different opinions. He wanted to live and I didn't"

"Very well I'll make his death is quick and painful." The Garo said putting the picture

"Now wait a minute." The cloaked figure said as he raised his finger. "You see while I enjoy a slow painful death after he deserves what's coming to him. Kid is tougher than he looks it's going to take something extreme to kill him. I suggest you cut right through his neck." He said as he drew a line on his neck with this finger. "Don't do it too deep I want him to feel every bit of pain as he slowly dies from blood lose, it'll be hilarious."

"I see, very well master I will make his death a painful one." The Garo said.

"Good that's what I like to hear. Oh and by the way if you fail." The cloaked figure then snapped his fingers, which caused two strings to appear on the Garos arm. Then with a flick of his wrist he made the Garo pull out both of his daggers and point at his neck from under his cloak. "I'll show you what happens to those who fail me, they don't call me the puppet master for no reason you know." He said in threatening voice that made the Garo shake in fear.

"I-I s-shall not fail you my master." The Garo said with a stutter.

"Really good well so long now." The cloaked figure then snapped his claws making the Garo disappear.

The cloaked figured then began chuckling. "Wow those guys are merciless, I thought he would question why he wanted that kid dead but I guess no mercy for no one. He then materialized another picture of the colt. You won't be getting in my way kid and even if you somehow survive I won't stop till your dead." He then burned the photo and threw it's ashes into the air. He then turned his head in a random direction looking in no particular direction.

"No one is going to get in my way. Not him, the goddesses, or the princesses of this land will be able to stop what I have planned. Now to take care of a little lizard problem." The cloak figure said before disappearing in a flash.

As Tael felt consciousness returning to him, he slowly began to open his eyes. He instantly closed them as bright light hit his eyes hard. He slowly opened his eyes and got used to the light in the room. He began flapping his wings and rose into the air again. When he saw his reflection in the mirror again. He started at the reflection for a few seconds, he moved side to side to see that if followed his movements exactly. He sighed and shook his head, and by head it was his entire body.

"Well this is just great. First we get attack by a giant Moldorm and some Lizalfos, then a portal opened up out of nowhere pulling the both of us in and now we're stuck in entirely different world in different forms no way to change back because Link lost all his items." Tael yelled in frustration. Realizing he lost his temper like his sister he quickly calmed down now wasn't the time to get angry. He just had to wake Link get him out of this place and find all his stuff before finding a way back to Hyrule.

Tael then looked up to see the sun' position from the looks of it a day had gone by indicated by the location of the sun. Good they still had time before any of Links items could get stolen. He could only imagine if someone found the transformation masks and the ocarina. That is if he wasn't knocked out for a couple days and not one.

Tael then floated over and looked over Link's injuries. He was surprised those ponies healed his wounds from the Moldorm and Lizalfos so quickly. Though even if they hadn't healed them Link would have been all right, he could get slashed across the chest by a giant axe and fight two Ironknuckles as if nothing happened.

Tael looked at Link and did a small tackle to his forehead. This causes Link's face to scrunch up but doesn't wake him up.

"Come on Link wake up." Tael said as he floated over the hero's head. "You can't just sleep when all of your stuff is gone and you turned into a pony." Tael then slammed down harder on Links face, which made the hero's eye slowly opened. Tael flew back as the hero began to sit up and rubbed his eyes. Once he finished rubbing his eyes he opened them fully and began to look around where he was.

"Link you ok, that portal may have changed your body again but don't worry we can fix this." Tael assured the young pony in front of him. "We just need to find your ocarina since we lost that with the rest of your stuff." Tael explained to the hero and waited for him to freak out at the fact that he lost all his stuff especially his ocarina but after a few seconds he didn't react.

"Uh Link stuff gone, precious ocarina that you got from a friend that you care deeply about and went through a lot of trouble to get back. Link simply blinked. "You know the very same one that can control weather, the sun and moon, and time itself." Link just blinked again. "THE VERY SAME ONE THAT HELPED YOU SAVE THE LAND OF TERMINA FROM A EVIL CHAOTIC MASK GOD THAT WAS BENT ON DESTROYING THE ENTIRE WORLD BECAUSE HE THOUGHT IT WAS A GAME." Tael practically screamed, the only response he got was Link tilting his head.

"LINK HOW ARE YOU NOT FREAKED OUT BY THIS SOMEONE OUT THERE COULD FIND THE OCARINA OR MASKS AND SOMETHING TERRIBLE COULD HAPPEN IF THEY FALL INTO THE WRONG HANDS." Tael said as he began hyperventilating.

What Link said next shocked Tael and made him even more nervous.

"Who are you exactly?" Link asked with a tilt of his head.

"H-he doesn’t know who I am." Tael asked nervously.

Suddenly Tael heard something behind him he turned and was shocked to find something he thought he would never see here. A member of the Garo was standing on the other side of the room. It seems I have been detected, no matter this won't take long. Two daggers then slipped out from his cloak into his hands, he then sped towards Link ready to cut him in half.

Tael gasped and quickly slammed into Link pushing him off the bed. The Garo slashed down at the bed cutting it in half. He stood up and walked over the bed and looked down at Link.

"Link run get out of here." Tael yelled hoping he would understand the situation they were in. Link thankfully got up and ran away only for the Garo to grab him by the tail and lift him up. Link struggled to get out of the grip until the Garo punched him straight in the stomach.

"Do not try to resist." The Garo said as he brought the dagger to Links throat. "Death is a sentence no one can escape no matter how hard they try. Now you die."

"Let me go." Link said as he continued to struggle against his hold but no matter what he couldn't escape from his grip. Tael rammed into the Garo head hoping that he would let him go. The Garo annoyed by Tael raised his arm away from Links throat and slammed Tael into the ground hard. Once he was done he brought the dagger back to Links throat.

"Say goodbye to life boy for this will be the last you shall see it." The Garo said, and then brought the dagger across Links throat. A large gash was then present on his throat and started to leak blood, which dripped on the ground. The Garo then went towards the window ready to leave with the body. He opened it and prepared to jump out but not before conjuring up some flames in his open hand then threw it towards the trail of dripping blood. Once it made contact the blood was gone and the flames disappeared without leaving a scorch mark. As he was about to jump out he heard something he couldn't believe, he looked down and saw that Link was coughing trying once again to get out of his grip. He coughed hard making him wince in pain as he held his throat with his hooves..

"Impossible that cut I gave to your throat should have killed you, how are you still alive. It seems that you are no ordinary child I'll make sure your dead for good this time." The Garo pulled out his dagger and brought it back ready to pierce his heart. Suddenly on Links left hoof three golden triangles appeared which shined a bright gold light blinding the Garo. The Garo dropped Link as he covered his eyes hissing in pain. He stepped back as he rubbed his eyes trying to regain his sight. Tael seeing that the Garo was nears the open window. He flew above the floor and charged at the Garo as fast as he could and slammed into his chest hard enough causing him to tumble back. The Garo fell through the window and landed hard on the ground.

Tael looked down to see the Garo wasn't moving. That was until he pulled out a round blue object. The rope on the top of the object started to burn.

"To die without out leaving a corpse, that is the way of the Garo." He said before the bomb exploded causing a large red cloud to appear. When it blew away nothing was left behind not a scorch mark indicating the blast was there or a body. Tael looked outside and was surprised no one was around to see what had just happened.

Tael sighed before realizing what happened to Link. He flew over and was surprised to see the wound on Links neck was quickly beginning to heal by a golden light, when the light disappeared the wound was completely healed. Link then stood up and stretched his legs and rubbed his throat.

"I swear Link that Triforce of courage makes you near immortal with how you can survive the most life threatening situations. Well at least the goddesses are still watching over you." Tael noted as the Triforce on his hoof stopped glowing.

Link looked at his hoof in confused as to what just happened. 'What was that and who was that. And most importantly how am I still alive' Link thought to himself as he touched his neck where he had his throat cut.

"Oh yeah you don't remember who you are I guess it's up to me to jog your memory. Even though we only been travelling together for a week I still don't know much aside from what Tatl has told me about you and that's still not much. And I'm pretty sure you didn't have wings." Tael noted as he looked at the golden colored wings that were now on Link.

Link simply shook his head. Tael sighed and shook his body. "Alright Link let's get out of here and look for your stuff and hope they can jog your memory. Come on let's g-”. Tael didn't have time to finish when the door opened and nurse Redheart walked in. Nurse Redheart gasped when she saw Link standing next to his bed, which was still cut in half.

"Are you ok." Nurse Redheart said as she ran up to check up on Link. "What happened here." She looked at the bed, which was completely destroyed. That's when she noticed Tael floating next to Link. She stared wide-eyed at him and slowly stood up and backed up. Once she reached one of the drawers she opened it and pulled out a bottle.

Tael wondered what the nurse was doing, that's when she quickly swipe a bottle at him trapping him inside. She quickly placed the lid back on the top of the bottle preventing him from escaping.

"Phew that was close Ponyville doesn't need another Parasprite infestation. I'll take you to Pinkie later but first let's get you into the other bed." She said to Link as she placed the bottle on top of the drawer and lead him to the other bed. She grabbed Link and placed him on top of the bed.

"You stay right here alright, I'll get the doctor and have him do a check up on you." She said as she began to walk away. Link lay on the bed wondering where he was. Link had to admit to himself he was a bit scared waking up in a place he didn't recognize and didn't even know who he was.

'Why can't I remember anything it feels like I should but all I can remember is that my name is Link.' He thought to himself. 'I wonder what that bug was saying, it looked like it was yelling at me. Well I guess it doesn't matter.' Link looked at Tael who was hitting the bottle cork trying to escape. 'He did save my life I guess I could help him.' Link reached over to the bottle and picked it up between his hooves.

Link grabbed the lid with his mouth and removed it quite easily. Tael quickly flew out of the bottle as soon as it opened.

"Oh thank the giants I got out of there, I am not a bottle fairy." Tael said as he breathed in and out. Tael looked back at Link and sighed. "Thanks Link now let's get out of here." Tael quickly flew over to the destroyed bed and quickly found Links hat. He flew into and picked it off the ground.

Tael flew over and placed it over Links head and flew out. Alright hat back on now all we need is the tunic. Tael flew over to the other beds nightstand to pick up both of Link pouches, which were still on his belt. Tael flew back and Quickly fastened them around Links waist.

"Alright that's everything except your tunic which I can't find, but we can worry about that later now come on let's go." Tael said flying towards the window.

"Ok we aren't too far from the ground, Link should be fine if he jumped but with how he is now I can't and might risk drawing too much attention." Tael then flew over to the door and saw that it was open a bit. "Alright looks like we're going to have to leave the old fashion way."

"Come on Link we have to get out of here." Tael said as he nudged the door trying to open it. "Why is it so hard for fairies to open doors." Tael says as he tried opening the door.

Link stared at Tael wondering why he hadn't flown out the window, but he felt as though he wanted him to follow. "Something tells me that bug knows who I am, if putting this hat and pouches on me were any indication. I better make sure nothing happens to him, he might just give the answers I need." Link jumped off the bed and walked over and opened the door, Tael quickly flew out with Link close behind. "I just hope I can figure out what it's saying because all I'm hearing are chirps."

All right now where is the exit. Tael looked left and right and saw a staircase going down. Come on Link this way. Tael said as he flew over the staircase and made his way down. Link followed him still wondering what he was saying. 'I wonder if it realizes that it's only chirping at me.' Link thought to himself as he followed Tael down the stairs. Tael reached the bottom of the stairs with Link close behind, while looking around he saw that the hallway split again. Quickly flying over there he looked down both halls and saw the exit leading outside.

"Link I found the exit, let's go." Tael quickly flew towards the exit. Link quickly ran after him but was suddenly hit in the head making him stop. Link rubbed his head as he glared at the floating bug above him. "Sorry I have to check if someone is there." Tael looked at the desk and saw that there wasn't a single pony in sight. Quickly flying to the door Tael floated next to it waiting for Link.

Link looked at Tael wondering what the bug had planned. 'Maybe he knows where we are. It looks like he knows what he's doing. I better not get left behind though'

Link steeled himself and quickly moved towards the door opening and followed Tael outside. Tael floated and looked around the area, the past seemed to lead straight into the town.

'If we head into the town we may figure out where we are, though I thinks it's best if we find a library. And maybe if we went back to where that portal was we can find a clue to where the masks and other stuff are.' Tael thought to himself. "All right Link I have a pla-" Tael looked back at Link or where Link was suppose to be.

Tael noticed that Link was already walking into town. "W-wait up Link." Tael yelled as he flew after the small pony.

Link and Tael walked through the town though not many ponies were out, the ones that were out were opening up their shops or were setting up their stalls, none however paid any mind to Link or Tael. Link looked around the town admiring everything he saw.

Since he didn't have his memory it seemed even the littlest of things amused him. Tael didn't care too much about the town he was preoccupied with other thoughts.

'Oh I wish sis was here, I could really use her help. With Link's memory gone he won't recognize any of his items and I hate myself for not memorizing everything he lost, he just had so many things I thought I would be fine without needing to memorize them. I bet sis didn't have to deal with this all she had to deal with were monsters, curses, and the moon falling destroying the entire world.' Tael thought to himself. 'Ok I just need to calm down and remember the stuff he did have. That might just get his memory back'

Tael quickly looked back at Link and saw that he staring at something. Tael quickly flew back and turned to see what he was looking at. Tael then stared wide-eyed at the giant house made of gingerbread. Link started to walk towards it before he heard something.

"Look out." Link turned towards the voice and was hit by something moving fast. Both Link and whatever hit him fell to the ground. Link groaned in pain as he stood back up rubbing his right foreleg in pain. Tael flew over to Link seeing if he was okay. Link however ignored Tael as he looked at what hit him.

He saw a blue scooter laying on the ground and an orange pony lying on the ground. She groaned as she sat and rub her head. Ow ok probably not my best ride. Scootaloo said, Scootaloo eyes widened as she realized she hit somepony. "Oh man did I hit them too hard where are they, please tell me I didn't hurt them too bad." Scootaloo turned and saw that Link was staring at her.

"Are you okay?" Link asked as he looked at her in confusion.

"Huh oh yeah I'm fine, wait aren't you the pony I hit?" Scootaloo questioned which Link answered with a nod. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry, I was doing a trick on my scooter and I sort of messed up, anyways I lost control and ended up crashing into you. You're not hurt are you?" Scootaloo asked hoping she didn't hurt Link too bad.

Link looked down at the scrap on his arm it actually didn't hurt him too much, he'll probably be fine. "Not the worse injury I had all day. Didn't hurt like the other one though." Link said rubbing his neck.

"Yeah if you say so, so you new to Ponyville I haven't seen you around before. The name's Scootaloo second coolest pony in all of Ponyville. So what's your name?” Scootaloo asks as she picks up her scooter from the ground.

"It's Link, I think." Link mumbled the last part under his breath.

"Well it was nice meeting you but I got to go, see ya around. Scootaloo said before hopping back on her scooter and riding off. Link watched the pony leave before he felt his hat move." Tael flew out and flew in front of Links face. "Good to see you're okay Link, looks like we got some information on this, we're in a place called Ponyville but in what country or world we still got nothing on that."

"Anyways let's head inside, I doubt anything bad will happen in there." Tael flew towards the entrance of the bakery shop and waited for Link. Link quickly ran inside remembering the smell of the store Tael quickly flew inside wanting some treats as well.

The cloaked figure walked through the halls admiring the halls of Princess Twilight's castle. "This castle sucks, I can't figure out where anything is. I swear this is the first thing I'm going to destroy when I commence my plan. And quit ignoring me." The cloaked figure yelled at the two guards that just walked past him, forgetting that he was currently invisible. He then stood up straight and pulled the collar of his cloak. "Jeez what's it take to get some attention around here."

The cloaked figure slowly looked around and smiled as he saw two armed guards standing by a locked and chained door. "Looks like they made some extra security measures. Well doesn't matter I'll just head right on in." The cloaked figure walked towards the door passing through one of the guards causing him to shiver and then the door.

"Lets see where those little pests are." The cloaked figure looked at each cell and finally found what he was looking for. "Jeez don't I feel like idiot it was the first one. Oh well time to greet the prisoners, hello boys fancy meeting you here." The cloaked figure said as he stared at the cowering Lizalfos on the floor.

"You know, when I sent you all with a massive Moldorm to kill a kid I thought it would work, but nooooo. You just had to let the Moldorm die you just had to get sucked into a portal and then you have the nerve to get your FUCKING ASSES KICKED BY FUCKING PONIES." The cloaked figure yelled at the cowering Lizalfos." I AM SO ANGRY AT YOU STUPID FUCKING LIZARDS; I GAVE YOU ALL ONE TASK. He raised a single clawed finger. ONE SIMPLE TASK AND IT WAS TO KILL A KID. NOW GUESS WHAT YOU MADE ME ANGRY AND I NEED SOMETHING TO VENT ON, SO YOU STUPID ASS LIZARDS WILL JUST HAVE TO DO." With a wave of his clawed hand he opened the cell door and walked in.so let's have some fun. He whispered menacingly.

Five minutes later

The cloaked figure stepped out of the cell as he wiped the blood onto his cloak. "Phew thanks for the help you guys have fun and this blood will be a keeper that's for sure." The cloak figure said before looking up. "Oh and mister narrator, I'm getting real tired being called cloaked figure it sounds retarded, and I doubt anyone that hasn't played my game or heard of me will know who I am, my name isn't cloaked figure." His yellow eyes glowed under his hood.

Chapter 4: He Doesn't Even Eat

Twilight paced back and forth by the entrance of her castle. She was finally going to get rid of those monsters that she's been holding onto for the past three days. They had been a nuisance and annoyance, many times she has tried to communicate with them but all they did was yell at her and tried to shoot her with fire. She was glad they were finally going away, she barely got any sleep with their constant yelling.

Soon the doors to the castle opened, standing at the door was Princess Luna and her two guards who stood by her side.

"Greetings Princess Twilight, I assume you are well." Luna said walking in with a smile. "And I do apologize for my sister not being able to come here on this important matter, she had business to take care of in Saddle Arabia."

"It's all alright Princess Luna, I understand why Princess Celestia couldn't make it, and if it's alright with you can you just call me Twilight." She had a sheepish smile, while she had been princess for a long time and finally got a castle it was still a bit off for her being called Princess

"I shall stop when you do" she said with a small laugh, before getting a serious look. That's enough messing around, care to show me these creatures you spoke of in your letter.

Twilight nodded. "If you would be kind to follow me I can show you them" she then turned and began to walk towards the room where she kept them, Princess Luna and her guards following right behind her. "Now I should warn you these creatures aren't very intelligent.” She said looking behind her at Luna.

"Just how dumb could these creatures be?” Luna asked, which Twilight looked to the side with a sheepish look?

“They're dumber than a pack of the dumbest diamond dogs, is what Rainbow said and I kind of have to agree with her.” Luna looked a bit surprised.

"I think this will be interesting to see for myself." She said with a less serious tone than before. Soon the small group arrived at the room keeping the monsters. The guards standing guard bowed to the princesses and moved away from the door. Twilight activated her horn and soon a glow came from the door until an unlocking sound was heard. "They should be in here." Twilight said opening the door and walking inside, Luna and her guards followed her while the other two went back to their previous positions.

Twilight went to the cell the Lizalfos were being kept in and saw the cell was dark. "Grrr that's the 7th time that light bulb was destroyed hold on princess. She activated her horn again as the cell was lit up by a light bulb. "There that shoul- Twilight stopped talking as she and the others gasped at the sight before them.

The Lizalfos were piled up on each other as they each had a stab wound on their stomachs. "In the name of me I have never seen anything like this in over a thousand years" Luna said staring at the cell with a horrified look but not as much as Twilight and her guards. "What sort of evil could have caused this" Luna opened the cell door with her magic and walked in stepping on the small puddle of blood which made Twilight gag some more "I can sense the magical residue of the one who caused this, whoever they were they must be highly skilled in magic to get passed by your enchantments. I shall try and locate the source now."

Luna closed her eyes as she began to focus her magic, she gathered the magic from the room and began to locate the source she felt herself nearing the source until it suddenly stopped. Before she could an image appeared in her mind, and it looked disturbing. It was of a blonde haired creature of some sort, its eyes were completely white as blood fell from the corner of its eyes, and suddenly a box appeared

Luna wondered what the image was until it suddenly jumped out at her and bit her neck. Luna eyes widened as she felt her neck being bitten. She gasped and canceled out the spell, she held her neck where she felt something flowing out, and she took large breaths.

"Princess Luna!" Twilight said running into the cell, she didn't care if she was stepping in blood she needed to see what was wrong. "Is everything alright, what happened?" She asked worried.

Princess Luna shook her head "I'm sorry I worried you, but it seems our culprit has made a spell preventing us from tracking him, we need to talk to our sister about this when she returns. Luna then sighed and looked at twilight with a very serious look "Princess Twilight I believe we are facing a threat much worse then Tirek."

Twilight eyes widen 'Somepony worse then Tirek, he was the most powerful threat we faced who could be worse then him and can we stop them?' She thought growing nervous at the thought of somepony being worse then the magic stealing centaur himself. She then shook her head 'No me and my friends have faced plenty of threats we'll beat this new one as well.' She said growing a bit more confident, she then felt her stomach contents coming up as she realized she was standing in the blood and felt a bit of flesh on her hoof she quickly ran out of the room to dispose of her lunch.

Luna looked at the Lizalfos piled up corpses "Who could be the cause of this, what reason would they have for doing this." She said to herself before leaving the room her guards following her. As the door closed a small laugh could be heard echoing the room.

As Link and Tael walked into Sugar Cube Corner their noses were blasted with the sweet and delicious aroma of the sweets "Whoa Link I don't think I ever smelled anything so good, man if I could eat I would" Link walked up to the glass container holding different types of sweets, Link drooled as he looked at the many different sweets.

Tael looked around and noticed that the ponies were staring at him, Tael looked a bit nervous as he hit the back of Link head lightly "Link I think everyone is staring at us" He whispered, Link turned around and gave him a look "I think we should le-" Tael yelped when he was suddenly trapped inside a glass bottle. "Oh come on again" He yelled inside the bottle "Now I know how others feel like."

"I got him you guys, I got him." Pinkie said holding up the bottle over her head, Link could have sworn he heard music play when she held it up, the ponies gave a sigh of relief. "Mrs. Cake I'm gonna go interrogate this parasprite to see if any of his friends are hiding somewhere." She then dashed up the stairs without getting a reply.

Link had a confused look but his eyes widen as he realized that his guide had just been kidnapped he quickly ran after the pink pony. Link looked around the hallway and saw a door open slightly with only a small bit of light, he walked over to it and peeked inside to see Pinkie flashing a lamp light at Tael.

"Ok parasprite talk where are your other little friends?" Pinkie said as she looked Tael while wearing a cop hat.

Tael blinked "Ok one what's a parasprite and two I'm alone no one else is with me besides my friend Link." he said trying to explain the situation.

Pinkie rubbed her chin "Man I wish I understood what you said, oh well if you don't talk then I'm gonna have to give my partner a shot at you and you seriously don't want to mess with him." She then pulled in a alligator wearing a badge that said bad cop "Calm down partner you'll get a shot at him if he doesn't start talking" Gummy attempted to bite her hoof but couldn't without his teeth. "Oh he is getting ready for you, so talk or els- a ding suddenly went off "oh muffins are done." She took off her badge and bounced out of the room while Gummy licked one of his glass eyes, Link quickly hid as she left and went downstairs. Link quickly ran into her room and picked up the bottle Tael was in.

"She couldn't understand me, does that mean you haven't understood a word I said since you woke up have I just been talking to myself like some sort of crazy person" Link didn't say anything as he removed the cork and let him out "Let's go" Link said, he turned to leave but he hit something pink. He looked up to see blue eyes staring at his own they blinked.

"Hi" Pinkie said, Link yelps In surprise and jumped back. "I really surprised ya didn't I" She giggled for a bit then gasped "Oh my gosh you're the pony that came from Twilights portal, I'm so glad you're okay" She then hugged him hard causing Link eyes to widen as he soon had trouble breathing.

'Why does this feel familiar to something else and why does it make me feel scared' Link thought to himself. Once she stopped hugging him, he took a deep breath.

"I can finally throw you a party, you're welcome to Ponyville and I'm glad you're feeling better now Party" she grinned "It's going to be so much fun." She then gasped dramatically noticing Tael was free "oh did you let the parasprite out that's not good." She shook her head and pulled out another bottle "Well I better trap him again so he doesn't cause another infestation" Tael yelled and quickly hid under Links hat, Link stepped back and shook his head "Come on please" Link shook his head again and ran out of the room "oh are we playing chase I love that game" She then began to hop after him at a steady pace.

Link ran downstairs and out the bakery, he looked back to see if she was following him, he then suddenly was scooped up in a hug "gotcha." Pinkie said holding Link in a hug. Link was blushing for some reason when his face was pulled into her chest 'why am I blushing' Link looked up at Pinkie.

"That was fun but I'm gonna need that parasprite back." Link shook his head as he held his hat. "Oh come on please." She gave him a puppy dog look but Link shook his head as he held onto his hat even more.

"No he's my friend and I need his help" Link said 'where did that come from I just met him today'

"Your friend." She said with a surprise face "You mean this parasprite is your friend, oh I'm so sorry, I didn't realize I was tearing two friends apart from each other." She hugged him again, though not as tight. Link looked a bit awkward as he was hugged but he soon rubbed her back

"It's alright." He was then put down as Pinkie smiled "So what's your friends name?" Link then had a nervous look on his face, Tael gulped

'If he doesn't tell her my name she'll think he was lying to save me, oh I wish I could do something.' He thought to himself, then remembered something 'Oh please work.' Tael then began using his magic something he wasn't skilled with to tell Link his name.

Link suddenly felt something appear in his mind "Tael his name is Tael." Link said looking up at Pinkie. "And we've been friends for a while." He smiled 'I don't know why but I feel as though we been through a bit even if we did just meet today, besides he did help with that guy who tried to kill me.'

"Oh that's sweet speaking of sweet you sure he won't start eating all the food and or Ponyville itself causing a mass infestation" She asked, Link shook his head, Tael then used the last of his magic to give Link one last piece of Info

"He'll be fine he doesn't even eat food or other things" He said with a smile. Pinkie then got a grin on her face.

"That's great now I need to go I got a party to Plan see ya." She then ran off Link looked confused and was even more confused when he saw a cupcake on a paper plate on the floor, he picked it up and took a bite his eyes widen "This is the best thing I ever had, I think." Link said before shrugging and eating the rest of it, he lifted his hat and Tael fell from his head onto the ground panting heavily, Link looked at him concerned he was about to help but he flew off the ground although a bit wobbly

"Alright now that's outta the way let's see if we can find someplace to get some information and I don't know why I'm talking you can't understand me." He sighed as he landed on Links head and closed his eyes to rest. Link smiled as he placed his hat back over him and began walking around town.

Twilight sighed as sat in her room, she was taking a break right now after the scene with Princess Luna and those creatures she needed one. She still felt a bit traumatized from seeing the piled bodies and blood and she had to admit the details of the dead bodies from the historical books and fictions she read were nothing compared to seeing the actual thing, she could still smell them too causing her to gag a bit. Her ears flicked at the sound of her door being opened she turned around to see Spike coming in with some tea.

Spike placed the teacup and began pouring her tea "You seemed kind of stressed out so I hope this tea helps." He said as he finished pouring and added a couple cubes of sugar and mixed them with a spoon. Twilight smiled as she picked up the tea with her magic and took a sip.

"Thank you Spike I really needed that its been a very stressful morning as you can tell." She said then took another sip "With that colt those monsters and what happened this morning, its shaping up to be another day in Ponyville but much worse then usual."

"Speaking of which, what happened when Princess Luna came to check on those monsters?" Spike asked curiously. Twilight shook her head the teacup shaking a bit in her levitation.

"Spike I know I say this a lot but trust me you really don't want to know." She said her body shivering a bit, Spike noticed her discomfort and decided not to engage any further. Before Spike could change the subject they heard a knock on the door. "Come in" Twilight yelled loud enough for the person outside to hear.

The door opened as a Royal guard walked in and bowed. "Greeting Princess Twilight, I'm here to report on the guards morning patrol." Twilight nodded and motioned him to go on. "We found nothing out of place or any clues on who caused that scene in the cell but we did receive some reports on a noise found near the hospital." Twilight looked concerned a bit at that piece of information.

"Did you figure out what it was." Twilight asked to which the guard nodded

"Yes apparently any ponies near the noise describe it as a explosion, when we went to investigate though we couldn't find any trace of a explosion in a 5 mile radius of the hospital. However we received some troubling news from the hospital staff, the colt that was staying there that you and the other elements have found has disappeared from the hospital" Twilights eyes widen at this piece of news "We have already began a search on him." Twilight sighed a bit in relief but was still worried, she had brought the colt here and it was her responsibility to look after him until she could find him a new family to be with.

"Thank you, you are dismissed." The guard nodded and left the room, Twilight placed her tea cup down and stood up "Spike I'm gonna go look at the cell where the monsters used to be I need to track down whoever caused that before they can do anything worse." She then left before Spike could say anything

"Ok see ya then." He sighed as he began picking up her teacup and was about to leave. That's when he saw a flash in the corner of his eye; he turned to the flash of light and saw something strange on Twilight bed. "What is that?" He placed the teacup and kettle on a small table and walked over to the object, when he got over there he saw that it was a mask. It looked rather strange, it looked like it was made of wood, the top of the mask had three leaves while it's mouth was in the shape of a hole sticking out the most notable thing about it was its eyes. He didn't know why but when Spike stared into its eyes he could feel himself feel sad for it, almost as if something terrible happened to it "I don't know if I should take this it could be dangerous." The more he stared into the eyes he felt sadder for it "Aw the heck with it, I don't know why but it looks like you need a friend." He placed the mask under his right arm and grabbed the tea cup and kettle and left with the mask it's eyes glowing a bit.

The cragadile entire body shattered, as Majora stood in front of it "Too fragile." He said dusting his hand of dust he then walked toward the pack of timber wolves "nah too cliché" He then fire a beam at them setting them on all on fire, he looked toward the Manticore "No that yellow pony would manage to calm you down." He threw a dagger stabbing into its head "Come on I need a monster that can take down that boy and I haven't found anything worth while I thought this forest had dangerous beasts that I could use but nothing is here" Suddenly he heard a noise behind him, he turned around and noticed something walking towards him. He raised an eyebrow when he saw three heads emerge, this then caused him to grin "Just right" He said bringing a hand up to the creature as it pounced at him.

Link walked around Ponyville looking around the town, he had no idea but this placed seemed familiar as if he saw it from somewhere else. Link soon entered the market area of Ponyville; he walked around the walking ponies as to not trouble them. Link looked at the different stalls selling fruits vegetables or any other food that's when his stomach growled. "Guess it's been awhile since I ate, well before I had that cupcake, though I'm not sure when that was." He said rubbing his stomach, he sighed and began walking it sucked not having any money to buy any food. Where was he supposed to get some anyway and what even was the money they used here.

Link was pulled out of his thoughts when he bumped into someone. Link took a step back and looked at whom he bumped into "oh sorry I wasn't looking where I was going." He said to the yellow pony in front of him, the pony turned to look at him and gasped.

"Oh my it's you." The pony said looking down at Link. Before he could do anything he was scooped up in a hug "Oh I'm so glad you're okay, we were so worried you weren't going to wake up." Link blushed as the pony hugged him. "Oh where are my manner I'm Fluttershy."

"I'm Link and do you know me?" He asked hoping she was someone who had a clue on who he was. Sadly he shook her head, which caused Link to look down disappointed. "Well guess I better keep trying." He was about to leave but his stomach growled, he blushed in embarrassment while Fluttershy smiled a bit.

"Seems somepony is a bit hungry, come on I'll get you something to eat at my friend Rarity house, t-that is if you want to." She asked him, Link looked a bit nervous going with somepony he didn't know but he was hungry and she was offering so might as well follow what his stomach was saying, he nodded. "Ok follow me it's not that far from here." She began walking with Link walking next to her. Meanwhile near the Everfree forest something stepped out from there and it was looking for somepony.

Chapter 5: It's Dangerous to go in a Group

Steel Blade yawned as he walked through the town of Ponyville "Didn't get enough sleep again Steel." His partner Storm Guard asked as he looked at him. Steel nodded as he rubbed his face with his hoof "You really should stop taking midnight snacks and by midnight I mean one, two, and three in the morning." He said with a small chuckle.

"I know but those sweets that Pinkie Pie make are so good, I can't stop thinking about how delicious they are." He said drooling a bit, he then yawned. “And besides they help keep me up so I can play with my JoyBoy." He chuckled a bit, causing Storm to shake his head.

Steel Blade was a earth pony who had a pale silver color coat along with an yellow colored mane and tail and sky blue eyes. His partner and best friend Storm Guard had an azure coat and wings he also had a brown colored mane and tail his eyes were a forest green color.

"You're in the royal guards and you still play with a JoyBoy that is beyond sad.” He said laughing a bit only to receive a punch to his shoulder from Steel

"Shut it that joke lost its touch after the twentieth, now come on we still need to find that colt." Steel shook his head. "Seriously how he managed to sneak out of a hospital without anyone seeing him will always be a mystery." He said shaking his head again trying to stay awake. "I swear I wonder how ponies in this town are allowed to let stuff like this happen."

"Well we aren't any better Steel." Storm said with a sigh "You've heard what ponies have said about us royal guards, how we're practically useless whenever a threat or some other small thing comes by." Storm said "We're only seen as boring statues who are just there for aesthetic."

"I know we aren't really seen in a positive light by ponies, heck I still don't know why Princess Celestia sent us guards here, the Princess and her friends can handle any threat that comes along we just get in the way." Storm said with a sigh Steel then punched his shoulder again. "Quit hitting me." He said getting annoyed.

"Come on Storm we can't let what ponies say about us keep us down. Besides we have a chance to change what they think about us, make them see we can help and are able to handle any trouble that comes up." Steel said "We'll be the royal guards who will change the image we are seen as and show them we are capable of great things. He said with zeal.

"And how exactly do you suppose we do that, If a threat pops up I don't think we can handle it that well." Storm said only to get another punch to his shoulder "I am going to break you." He said his eye twitching

Steel rolled his eyes "Well my good chum we'll just have to be there when they aren't." He said, then got a mischievous smile on his face"And last I checked, you asked Celestia to send you along and I'm the only one who really knows why." Storm kept a stoic face but his face had a blush on it. "So always remember the bright side of things not like anything bad can happen while we're looking for a co-. Steel was cut off by the sound of screaming coming from nearby, the two looked at each other before running towards the screaming. When they arrived they were surprised to see a chimera roaring and trying to attack anypony nearby.

"What's a chimera doing here, those things don't even live in the Everfree. Steel said looking at the beast he then shook his head "It Doesn't mater we need to get that thing away from the townsfolk. I'll distract it and you help any civilians get away from it."

Storm looked at him and nodded "Don't get yourself killed." He said as he flew around helping civilians

Steel chuckled "No promises my buddy pal." He then ran towards the chimera "Hey you three headed ugly beast!"

The chimera stopped in place as the snake head turned to Steel "What did you call ussss." The snake head said its entire body turning to glare at Steel. Steel gulped but didn't lost all his confidence

"I'm sorry ugly wasn't the right word, absolutely hideous seems to be right." The tiger head growled, the goat bleated while the snake hissed.

"How dare you." The Tiger head said glaring at him. "You dare mock our beauty.” The goat head said. "You'll pay for that you little pesssst.” the snakehead said. Steel took a step back a bit of sweat rolling down his forehead.

"Sorry can't pay you now, can I just give you a I.O.U." Steel said with a small smile having lost most of his confidence. The Chimera heads growled as they pounced at him, Steel quickly ran under barely dodging its claw and the snakehead trying to bite him. The Chimera turned around but was bucked causing the tiger head to be dizzy, it shook its head and growled at Steel who quickly ran. "You'll pay for that" They began running after him.

'Have to keep them away from the town folk.' He thought to himself, he heard the chimera roar as it pounced at him. 'Idiot idea number 342 please work.' He stopped and bucked at the chimera again hitting its goat head this time making it lose momentum and fall back 'Alright!' He then felt the snake head coil around his left rear leg 'Oh No!' The chimera landed on its feet the snake head then slammed Steel onto the ground on his back, he tried to escape only for its paw to slam down on top of his chest.

"You'll make for a tasty treat." The goat head said, as all three of the heads opened their mouths to bite off a part of Steel, before they could, Storm crashed into the chimera's side causing it to fall to its side and losing the hold they had on Steel.

"Thanks bud." Steel said as he stood up. Storm nodded as he stood next to him ready for the chimera next move. The chimera growled as they got up and glared at the duo.

"We're wasting time, we need to find that colt that masked guy asked us to find and quick." The Tiger head said as the other two nodded, the chimera turned around and ran away. Steel and Storm eyes went wide they looked at each other before they began chasing after it.

"Go find any nearby guards and tell them about the chimera, and get everypony to safety. Steel said to Storm who nodded and flew off to search for any nearby guards. "What the heck is this Chimera even after." Steel said to himself

Link walked into the building with Fluttershy, he looked around the inside seeing some strange looking things. They looked like ponies but were completely white and were not moving, they made him a bit nervous so he chooses to avoid them. Suddenly he heard the sound of hoof steps coming from a set of stairs, he looked up and saw a white pony coming down the stairs

"Oh Fluttershy, good afternoon I'm glad you were able to make it. Rarity said as she stood in front of her friend and then noticed Link standing next to her and gasped. "Isn't that the little colt we helped the other day?” Fluttershy smiled and nodded. "Well I have to say it's so great to finally meet you, allow me to introduce myself, I am Rarity owner of the Carousel Boutique and I must say its a great to finally meet you pony to pony."

Link nodded "I'm Link and why is it great to meet me." He asked a bit confused.

"Well Link, I, of course along with my friends, were extremely worried about you, after all being chased by those savages and what you went through, it's great to see you feeling all better and I'm glad you're out of the hospital now, speaking of which how did you leave the hospital, were you the one who got him out Fluttershy?”

"No I was going to visit him after I came here to get what you wanted to give me." She said, and then looked down at Link.

"How did you get out of the hospital did one of our other friends get you out?" Link shook his head no then looked down at the floor.

"I kind of snuck out of the hospital, if that's what it's called." Link said looking a bit ashamed.

"Oh Link you shouldn't have snuck off, the ponies at the hospital must be worried sick about you." Fluttershy said, to which Rarity nodded.

"Besides what reason did you have for sneaking off?" Rarity asked him, this made Link scratched near his hat.

"Well a friend I guess wanted me to follow him I don't know why but he seemed to know me. Besides he did save my life so I kind of owed him a bit." He said with a small shrug, this caused Fluttershy and Rarity to look at him confused.

"Link what do you mean save your lif- Fluttershy was suddenly cut off when a loud crash was heard outside. The trio looked outside to see a chimera standing outside the shop, it's three heads looking around. "I-Is that a chimera." Fluttershy said looking at the massive beast with fear.

Link looked at chimera afraid and confused, he was confused why the creature had three heads and scared at how menacing it looked. The creature’s tiger, and goat, were growling except for the snakehead, which was staring inside the boutique specifically at Link.

"Grrr these stupid ponies are getting annoying. The tiger head said glaring at the group of guards in front of it, instead of the two there were now 20 guards they weren't sure if they could handle this many. “We need to find the colt and bring it back to that guy.” The goat head said

“No need to my ssssisssterssss, it seems we found him.” The snakehead said the tiger and goat turned to her and saw what she meant.

“Oh this is perfect let us take care of these guards and then take that colt.” They were about to pounce until they heard a familiar tune play, the snakehead then fell asleep.

“What the, not again.” They looked up and growled when they saw a familiar pony with the guards playing a flute.

Steel looked at Applejack with a smile. “Good thing you had a snake charming flute with you, this makes things a bit easier for us.”

Applejack nodded as she put the flute under her hat. “You wouldn't believe the trouble I have sellin’ pies especially with a chimera wanting some.”

Storm nodded “I don’t doubt that but we still need to get this chimera out of town.” The other two nodded as the chimera growled and charged at them the snakehead being dragged behind it; it then pounced at the group. Before the chimera could get close to them it was suddenly hit with a lavender beam; its eyes closed as it fell to the ground asleep

“That was easy and anti climatic.” Steel said looking at the chimera that was now asleep. He then looked over to see Twilight, who was running towards the group.

“Is everypony alright? I came as soon as I heard there was a Chimera in Ponyville?” She asked the guards who all nodded

“Don’t worry princess we’re fine” Steel said before coughing into his hoof a bit of blood coming out “Except me the snake did slam me on the ground a bit hard might have broke something.” Storm then hit the back of Steel's helmet.

“You were injured and you still came along.” Storm said through his teeth. Steel could only chuckle at how angry his friend was.

“Hey I didn't want to miss the action but seeing as it's over, I’ll head to the doc and get myself fixed.” He began walking away two guards following him in case he decided to try and run away like the other times he was injured, he never did like the doctor.

“Well, now that’s taken care of princess Twilight I thank you for the help you gave us the same to you Applejack.” He gave a bow to Twilight who groaned a bit.

“Storm Guard you don’t have to bow you can still treat me like anypony.” Storm stood up straight.

“Sorry regulations require it, but not when I’m off duty” He said with an apologetic smile. The door to the Carousel Boutique opened as Rarity, Fluttershy, and Link walked out.

“Oh Twilight it’s a good thing that you made it, I can't tell you how horrified I was to see that chimera standing outside my window." Rairty said, who had almost used her fainting couch upon seeing it. "It's a good thing we were inside when that beast came along."

Twilight smiled and nodded then she noticed the colt looking at the chimera being taken away, she then realized this was the same colt that she brought to Ponyville, the same one that had all those unbelievable injuries from wherever she brought him from. She knew she would have to talk to him but wasn’t sure what to say, she never met a colt with a situation like his, but she had to do her best. Rarity looked at what Twilight was staring at and knew what her friend was planning.

“You’re going to go talk to him aren’t you” She asked her friend who nodded. “I see, do be careful dear he seems a bit scared and nervous, I think it has to do with him being here instead of that ghastly place he used to live in wherever that place might be.”

Twilight nodded. “I still never heard a place in Equestria that could cause all those injuries but I’m sure we’ll help him find a better home.” She looked to Rarity. “Did you happen to learn his name?” She asked her friend who nodded.

“It’s Link dear quite a lovely name, now you go talk with him, while I go get his clothes.” She walked into her store while Twilight looked back at Link who was now looking at the guards.

She began to walk over to Link her mind set on helping him through his situation. Link turned to Twilight hearing her coming towards him. He looked up at her curiously wondering who she was.

“Hello Link it’s very wonderful that I can finally talk to you. I am Princess Twilight Sparkle but please just call me Twilight.”

Link nodded for some reason the word princess made him think of someone else but he couldn't figure out who. “Hi Twilight.” He said with a bow, he looked up to see Twilight laughing nervously.

“You don’t have to do that Link, please you and I are friends.” She said with a smile. Link nodded and stood up straight.

“Now Link I am sure you are confused as to where you are now.” He nodded again, after waking up in the hospital and walking around he had no clue, the place did not feel familiar to him, it felt strange though. “Well Link I would like to welcome you to Ponyville.” She said with a smile.

Link smiled a bit. He felt a bit better, he may not know where he is or who he was but he was glad he was getting somewhere and making some friends along the way as well. “Thank you Twilight.”

Twilight wanted to say more until she heard the sound of armored hooves hitting the ground behind her. She turned around to see Storm bowing for a moment before standing straight. “Princess Twilight, we received word that Princess Luna has called for you and asked that you meet her in your castle.” He said, Twilight sighed she wanted to speak to Link about his previous home and life but she was needed elsewhere.

"Alright I'll be heading back, Storm take the other guards with you to make sure no civilians were hurt." She ordered, Storm gave a salute and gave the orders to his fellow guards they all nodded and went their separate ways. "I'll see you girls later, something tells me Princess Luna may have something important to tell me." She then flew back towards her castle.

Link watched her fly off before looking around; the guards had all left the only ones left were Fluttershy who was currently talking with an orange pony. Link walked towards the two wondering what they were talking about.

“Applejack are you completely sure that chimera was after you and Apple Bloom.” Fluttershy asked her friend.

“Trust me Fluttershy I’m sure of it, that chimera didn't just come here to terrorize Ponyville, it was looking of somepony and considering that one recognized me could only mean it was after me and sis.” She said before sighing. “Thing is while it was terrorizing everypony it didn't attack of any of them until Steel up and bucked its head and provoked it. It should have attacked everything that it considered a meal.”

Fluttershy looked a bit surprised at the explanation she received from her friend. “Wow Applejack I never knew you had so much information on how chimeras act.

Applejack smiled a bit “Well when you’re tricking the monster that keeps falling for the same tricks you tend to learn a few things.” She chuckled a bit before noticing that Link was standing next to Fluttershy. “Hey ain’t that the colt we helped a few days ago?” She asked looking at Link with a somewhat surprised look.

Fluttershy looked down to see Link standing next to her looking a bit shy. “Oh yes, Link this is my friend Applejack.” She introduced the colt to her friend.

Applejack grinned as she reached a hoof out for him to shake. “Howdy there Link, name's Applejack.”

Link looked at the hoof before bringing his own, the moment they both touched he immediately felt his body move up and down. After a few seconds Link looked a bit dizzy but shook his head to clear up any dizziness.

“Sorry 'bout that keep forgettin to tone down my greetings.” She gave Link a smile. “Glad to see you’re okay after what happened a few days ago, I gotta say most foals your age wouldn’t come back from injuries like that so quick you’re made with some pretty tough stuff.” She complimented. Link wasn't sure what she meant but decided to nod and pretend like he did.

“He bumped into me at the market and being in the hospital for three days made him hungry.” Fluttershy said, then looked back at Link. “And Link you still haven’t explained this friend of yours who saved your life.” Applejack looked at her friend curiously

“When did this happen?” She asked “And what the heck kinda saving did this friend of yours do?”

Link looked at the ground not sure what to say but he didn’t want to lie to them they have been very nice to him and he didn’t want to repay them by lying. He also did not want to remember what had happened only a few hours ago.

“What happened was when I woke up in the hospital, there was this person, I didn’t get a good look because of the hood but the next thing I knew he tried to kill me.” He said earning gasps of surprise from the mares. “I got away from the first strike but he grabbed me by my tail lifted me up and he” Link had trouble saying the next part, rubbing his throat. The two mares however got the message and both had faces in shock. “I don’t know how I survived but there was a blinding light making the person drop me, the next thing I know he was gone and my friend was there and the one trying to kill me not.” He finished looking back at the two mares who had faces of shock on their face

“He ain’t lying.” Applejack said “And that’s the part that makes me sick.” She shook her head. “You’re just a colt and somepony is out to get you.”

“H-H-Has it always been like this for you Link.” Fluttershy asked the colt, she did not want to believe it but conformation from Applejack was one thing to make her believe his story. And if it had always been like this for him then it was going to be even worse.

“I don’t know” He replied. “I don’t remember anything besides my name and what happened today.” He answered wishing he could remember more.

“That ain’t good.” Applejack said. “Maybe we should take ya back to the doctor.”

“Maybe Twilight can use a spell to regain his memory. Fluttershy said wanting to know what else happened to him if it was just as grim as him almost dying in the hospital she wanted to help him as best she could. “Though maybe we shouldn’t bother her, she may be busy with what princess Luna wanted.”

“Well I’m sure she wouldn’t mind. Come on Link we’ll take ya to Twilight she’ll know what to do.” She said with a smile before making her way to Twilights castle. Link smiled and nodded maybe these ponies would help him figure out just where he is. He began following them with Fluttershy waking next to him.

“Wait just a minute.” The group stopped and looked back to see Rarity walking towards them a set of green clothes being held in her magic. “Here you are Link.” She said putting the floating clothes in front of him. “It took me a while to fix your clothes due to the material it used, it was a kind I have never seen but luckily I was able to recreate it.

Link looked at the tunic, which seemed familiar to him. He took the shirt and tried to put it on but was having trouble considering his hooves couldn’t grip it very well. Rarity giggled at Link attempt to put the clothes on. “Here let me help you.” She said helping him into his tunic, once they were on the girls all smiled at him.

“I have to say seeing these clothes on you while you’re up and about seems right. Almost like you aren’t the same pony without them.”

“Yeah something tells me those clothes fit only you just right. Specially that hat of yours.”

Fluttershy simply smiled as she looked at Link. “We should really be getting to Twilight.” She reminded her friends in case they forgot though she doubt they did.

“Yeah we’re burning daylight.” She said as the group began walking towards Twilights castle.

When Twilight entered her castle she was wondering what Princess Luna had wanted with her, after that scene earlier today she hoped that they might have a lead on the one responsible for that scene. One of her guards had met up with her and led her back to the room where the Lizalfos were killed. She didn’t want to see that scene again but she couldn’t ignore the Princess request. Once they arrived in the room she saw Princess Luna looking into the cell. She did the breathing technique she learned from Cadence and walked over to her fellow princess.

“Princess Twilight we are glad you are feeling well now.” She said looking at her from the corner of her eye before looking back into the cell. “We have learned some interesting facts about the one who infiltrated your castle and mercilessly killed these prisoners. After analyzing the magic used it has been quite unsettling to find out that both chaos and dark magic are at work.”

Twilight’s eyes widen, she had dealt with villains who used chaos and dark magic, if Sombra and Discord were anything to go by both who were a serious threat in the past, to find out somepony was using both types of magic was already unsettling. “Princess Luna do you think the elements will be enough to handle him?”

“This being who possess these magics could be very dangerous, I know you and your friends have always defeated many great foes but I fear this may have to be entrusted into somepony else’s hooves.” She said turning to Twilight “Whether they are mine or my sisters or even Discord we must make sure this threat does not become too much of a danger to Equestria.” She then turned her head looking outside. “We should be leaving soon, we must warn our sister, keep an eye out for anymore of these appearances of dark or chaos magic.” Twilight nodded and with that Princess Luna left along with her guards. Twilight sighed; who knew so much could happen in such a short amount of time, with her pulling Link and those monsters from the portal, Link almost dying then learning how horrible of a life he had if all those injuries meant something and a new threat she had a lot on her hooves.

“I just hope nothing worse can happen.” She said with a shake of her head before leaving the room.

Majora growled as he looked through the crystal in his claws, these ponies were already infuriating but for that one with the moon on her ass to find out where he was it had made him angry. “Great a pony to remind me of greatest failure at a hands of a kid and a fairy, all because I gave him that stupid mask." He sighed shaking his head. "The chimera failed, I'll have to take care of that thing later on but now I have to start thinking, I haven't regained my full powers and those ponies can handle themselves better than I thought, if those princesses or this so called spirit of chaos find me then I have no chance, I have to throw them off my trail so I can take care of them at a later date." He leaned back on the throne and closed his eyes. "And if I'm gonna get rid of that kid then I have to think of a better plan, those six ponies are gonna be tough to deal with considering what few options I have till I regain full power. Now to check up on something else."

He raised two fingers up summoning crystals that showed different areas in each one. "Hmm seems that little drake found the Deku mask I was hoping that princess would find it but oh well it won't matter. The rests of the masks seem to have stayed in their same plac-" He stopped when he noticed a mask displayed on one of the crystals was shown being picked up. "Gonna remember that one for later." He grabbed the crystal and chuckled.

Chapter 6: Closed Minded and New Living

Tael slowly began to wake up, seeing the green stiches of the hat over him. He floated up and sighed, “Who knew that using magic is so tiring, I managed to fix some of Links memories but if I did that I might not survive.” He moved over to the edge of his cap and moved it up a bit to see where they were now.

His eyes widen when he saw they were approaching a castle made entirely of what looked like crystal. “Whoa that is nothing like the one Tatl told me about when she and Link went to Ikana Canyon.” He said to himself. He looked around from his small spot and was surprised to find the same ponies that had helped them a few days ago.

“Wonder what Link is doing with them.” He said to himself looking at the group. The orange and white one were talking to each other and the yellow one was walking silently next to Link “Must have missed something important.” He placed his body on Links hair and began to think.

‘Link must have gotten some progress on where we are but why is he going to that castle with these three ponies?’ He then heard the sound of the two large doors opening; he looked out from under the hat and was surprised to see they were in the castle. ‘Whoa this castle is not as destroyed as the one Tatl mentioned in Ikana Canyon, it’s really nice’ He thought to himself.

Link looked around the castle with wide eyes; he had never seen a castle like this especially one made out of crystal. He looked left and right wondering what the castle may hold, he felt like he’s been in a couple castles but he wasn’t sure why. He continued to follow the mares going up the stairs of the castle.

As Link continued to look around the castle he looked at the others wondering how special they were to enter the castle without any trouble. Soon the group entered a room, which held seven thrones inside it. Link looked at the thrones and the table that surrounded it. He wondered what this place was and why it required seven thrones but he guessed he’d find out sooner or later.

“Twilight should be here soon so we may as well wait till she does” Applejack said sitting on one of the thrones, this caused Link to look at her curiously but then noticed that the mark on the chair was the same one she had.

Rarity nodded sitting on another throne and sighed, “That chimera coming to Ponyville has to have been the worst thing that happened here in the past three days but at least it was taken care of swiftly.”

Fluttershy nodded as she sat on her throne “Well I just hope that mean old chimera learned his lesson.”

Link looked at each of them, it seemed they were part of something important but he wasn’t sure what. He looked at each of them before walking over to Fluttershy. He sat next to her throne seeing as she was the one he knew most so far, even if it was a little bit. He looked at Rarity and Applejack who continued their conversation then at Fluttershy. He still wondered why they were being nice to a complete stranger like him but it was understandable he was a kid in some unknown place he’s never seen or heard of before and for seem reason he didn’t feel like he should be a pony, even if he was.

‘All of this is strange to me. I should be a pony, right? Then why do I feel as though this isn’t right, that I’m suppose to be something else. This is just so confusing and I can’t understand why.’ Link then realized that Fluttershy was talking to him, he shook his head “Sorry Fluttershy I was thinking on something, what did you say?”

Fluttershy gave him a concerned look “I-I was asking if you’re going to be a-alright, it must be scary being in a new place, and y-you know, almost getting killed twice.” She said.

Link looked down and sighed “I-it’s a bit tough, I don’t really know where exactly I am and yeah almost getting killed wasn’t fun b-but I’m sure I’ll be fine.” He then looked down “Oh who am I kidding I can’t remember anything, I don’t know where I am or how I got here, I’ve been nearly killed multiple times or have been tried to and I don’t even know what I’m going to do for a place to live.” He said, his entire body shaking, Link suddenly felt himself being pulled into a hug. He looked up at Fluttershy, who had her forelegs wrapped around him she gently rubbed his back.

“I know you’re afraid Link but we promise that we’ll help you through this as best we can we’re your friends” Fluttershy said, she pulled away and gave him a smile. Link smiled and nodded, thankful she calmed him down, she was right he had friends here and they would help him get back his memory and maybe back home.

“She’s right Link.” Link turned to the Rarity who had a smile on her face “We would be glad to help you through whatever troubles you.”

“And don’t you worry about you know almost dyin’, we’ll make sure nothin’ like that happen’ to ya.” Applejack said giving Link a reassuring nod.

Link sighed in relief, though was still a bit nervous, he had friends who would help him and this made him feel a lot better. "Thanks all of you, I-I was worried about the murder attempts, and waking up in a town I never seen or heard of before with no memory of myself and my past, but to know that I have all of you to help, it really reassures me." He said with a smile, however he still wondered if Twilight could really help him remember who he was, and if she could really help him what would he do next. Link then looked towards the door and saw Twilight walk in.

Twilight had a surprised look on her face when she saw her friends along with Link in the room. “Hey girls, I didn’t know you were coming over, and with Link too” She said giving the group a smile, She walked over and sat on her throne

“So what brings you girls here so soon, I thought you would have all gone home by now?” She asked

“Well ya’ see Twilight, Link here he’s having some memory trouble, and we were wonderin’ if you could use that memory spell of yours to help him remember who he was.” Applejack answered

Twilight looked at Link, before back at Applejack “What kind of memory trouble, because the spell can only do so much for a single ponies memory.”

This is where the trio looked at each other before looking back at Twilight, Fluttershy decided to tell her “Well the only thing he remembers is his name, he doesn’t know about Equestria or where he came from or what his life was like before coming here or why a bunch of meany monsters are trying to hurt him.” She explained looking at Link concerned, who had an unsure look on his face.

Twilight looked at Link a worried look on her face, she sighed and shook her head “I don’t know if I can get everything back.” she said, the group looking a bit disappointed that the spell couldn’t help fully restore Link's memory. “But I that doesn't mean I can’t give it a try.” she said giving them a bit of hope.

Twilight walked towards Link and her horn glowed. Link stared up at Twilight’s horn a bit nervous on what may happen not sure if her magic might do something unpleasant to him.

Twilight closed her eyes in concentration and began the spell, She pressed her horn against Link forehead softly and began to search for his lost memories. Not even a minute in her magic suddenly stopped, she opened her eyes and brought her head up, she was bewildered at the fact her magic suddenly stopped. She frowned and started the spell again pressing her horn against his forehead only for it to suddenly stop again.

Twilight brought her head up and stepped back. Link looked up at her confused, did she regain his memories, he didn't feel any different and doesn't feel anything he forgot coming back to him.

"Twi what happen' did the spell work?" Applejack asked her friend looking at Link for any indication if it did.

Twilight sighed "No it did not Applejack, something is blocking me out from getting his memories back, It seems to be magic but I have never seen a spell like this before." She said looking down at him with a sadden expression "I'm sorry I couldn't be more help Link."

Link was a bit disappointed but he shook his head "It's alright, I'm sure I can remember who I am sooner or later." He said with a smile trying to convince both her and himself.

Twilight smiled then looked at the girls "Well now that he's out of the hospital, we should find you a foster family to stay with." She said with a smile.

"Twi I don't think we can have Link stay with just any family." Applejack said looking serious

"And why is that Applejack? I'm sure that any family that's looking to take care of a foal will do a fine job with Link." Twilight said, "After all I'm sure Link isn't a trouble maker, he seems like a well behaved colt." She said wondering why Applejack said that.

"It's because of certain things that have happened since Link here got to Ponyville. He's been attacked Twilight, those lizards that came with him, the chimera was at Rarity's boutique the exact moment he was there with Rarity and Fluttershy. Heck he told us he almost got killed earlier today." She told her friend "And now for some reason he doesn't remember who he is or why we can't get his memories back with your magic." Twilight stared at her friend wide eyed a bit, surprised that she didn't realize the events that happened since Link got here and the fact that he was almost killed

"I see what you mean Applejack. I just didn't see it sooner especially with what happened to those lizards." Twilight said feeling a bit sick from what happened

"W-what did happen to those Lizards Twilight?" Fluttershy asked, while they were monsters they were still part animal so she had to wonder what happened to those creatures that came with Link.

"Well they're." She stopped "It's complicated Fluttershy and I don't think you want to hear it, but back to the matter at hand, Applejack is right we need to find him a home to stay in, somewhere close by so we can keep a eye on him in case more events like the Chimera happen again." She said "Though this may be tough, there aren't many ponies in Ponyville that can adopt a foal, and due to Ponyville not having an Orphanage we can leave him at one." She said trying to figure something out

"Well why don't we let him stay with one of us, after all we could keep a very close eye on him?" Rarity suggested, "Though I don't think I would be able to, with the boutique and Sweetie Belle it may be a bit too tough to handle another foal." She said

"While it sounds like a good idea, going back to what you said I don't think any of us can take care of him, I have princess duties, Fluttershy has her animals, Applejack her farm, Rainbow spends a lot of her time doing stunts when she's not working weather and I don't think she wants to stop her training for the wonderbolts, and Pinkie she's great with ponies foals especially but with her helping with sugar cube corner and the planning a bunch of parties well it doesn't seem like a good idea." She said pacing back and forth

The three mares looked at each other then back at Twilight, she was right after all. It would be very difficult taking care of Link while they had their own things to do. What could they do with the colt that seemed to have quite the terrible luck. "Well I was thinking Twilight." Rarity started "With how many guards are here in this castle and how many empty rooms there are why doesn't he stay in the castle?" Rarity said

"I told you Rarity I can't." Twilight said

"I know that darling but I'm not saying you take care of him specifically, I'm sure some of these guards here could be best suited to take care of Link here and they could also protect him from any dangers popping up." Rarity said

Twilight thought for a moment "That could work but I don't think some of these guards will be happy doing foal sitting. Although I think I know a few who would like to do that." She said "Alright I'll have Link stay here and assign him a couple guards to watch over him." She said with a nod "That is if Link is fine with it." The group looked at Link who was staring at the ground

Link blinked he didn't know why but for the some reason the thought of living with somepony and having them take care of you made him happy. He couldn't tell why but he felt it was like something he wanted more than anything. "I-I think I like that idea." He said with a nod and smile

"Alright I'll show you to your room in just a bit and we'll find you two guards to keep watch." She said with a smile

"Alright." He said then looked at the mares who brought him here "Thank you, I don't know what would have happened without your help but I'm glad you could bring me here." He said in gratitude

"It was no problem Link we are just happy to help." Rarity said while the other two gave a nod "Though I think this was a long enough break for the three of us, we should be going." She said as she got off from her throne, Fluttershy and Applejack did the same "Do take care of yourself."

"And make sure you eat plenty cause from the looks of it you ain't been eating that much." Applejack said

Fluttershy smiled and nodded "I hope you enjoy your time with Twilight." She said and with that all three of the mares left. Link smiled sad to see them go but he was sure he would see them around.

"So Link let me show you to your room." She said walking out of the room with Link following her. As they walked Link took this time to look around the castle. He wondered how something like this was made since it was made out of crystal and in the shape of a tree, it must have took a lot of hard work.

Meanwhile under his cap Tael sat in Links hair, thinking to himself 'This isn't right, I know Link and he wouldn't want to stop looking for this Navi. If he got all his memories back and sees how much time he's spent here then who knows what he will think plus how will we go back to Hyrule we don't even know how we got here.' He groaned 'Oh Tatl what would you do in this situation sis?' He sighed wishing his sister was here to help, she knew Link far more then he did heck he would even bet she knows who he was before coming to Termina he decided to close his eyes, he needed some rest still to regain his magic, after all he didn't want to disappear into nothing like most fairies do.

As Twilight walked towards where she would have Link she thought to herself 'Link just where did you come from, that spell that's blocking my magic feels like dark magic, Somepony is doing this to you and I have a safe bet they're coming after you. I brought you here to Equestria probably saving your life in the process but it doesn't mean anything if you're still in danger. I promise I'll do what's best for you until I find somepony to care for you.' She thought promising to herself and Link

Spike stared at the mask he found on Twilight's bed, why this mask was there or how it got there was a mystery but he wasn't too focused on that. What he was more focused on was the depressed feeling he got whenever he looked at the mask, it was just a mask but it looked so sad and broken almost as if it was alive. He sighed and continued to stare "It's just a mask so why do I feel so bad." He said as he closed his eyes for a moment only to hear somepony sniff. He opened his eyes and looked around he frowned and shrugged. He looked at the mask and noticed something. He looked closer and saw two tears flowing down. He wiped it off and stared at the mask

"Did you just cry?" He asked not expecting a response but he did get one in the form of the mask's orange eyes glowing briefly. Spike yelped in surprise as he fell back, he stood up "Y-you can understand me." He asked to which the mask eyes glowed briefly again "Oh wow, the mask is alive." He said staring at it "That's so cool." He said with a grin "How can you do that, oh man if Twilight saw you she would flip." He said with a excited tone.

Spike then could have sworn he heard a laugh but he shook his head "Hmm I guess you've been pretty lonely, oh glow once for yeah twice for no." He said and the mask glowed once and stopped "That's awesome how you can understand me." He said with a smile "It must have been a while since you talk with someone I'm guess." The mask eyes glowed once again before stopping "Heh it's kinda weird having to talk to a mask but the fun kind of weird you know what I mean right." He asked to which the mask glowed once again, before he could ask something else he heard a knock on his door "One sec." He whispered before going to answer

Spike opened the door to see Twilight and a colt he's never seen before. "Hey Twilight what's up?" He asked

"Spike I'm sure you remember the colt I told you about." Twilight said to which he nodded.

"Yeah the one who's been in the hospital." He said, "This is him I'm guessing."

"Yes and I was wondering if you could show him to his room, he's going to be staying with us for a while and I need to go find some guards to assign to him." She asked

"Oh sure, but what does he need guards for?" He asked

"I'll tell you later just show him to his room." She said walking away

Spike watched her go before looking at Link "So I guess you'll be living here for a while." He said causing Link to nod in confirmation "I'm Spike by the way nice to meet ya." He offered his claw to shake, which Link took with his hoof

"I'm Link nice to meet you too." He said with a smile "You're a dragon aren't you." He said looking over Spike.

"Yup that's me." He said with a nod "Ponyville's resident dragon and Princess Twilight number one assistant." He said "I guess we'll be living with each other for a while." He said with a smile "Come on I'll show you where you'll be staying." Spike said walking down the hall

Link nodded "Alright, thanks." He said following him

As the two left the mask left on Spike table glowed brighter and brighter but dimmed down once they were gone. A tear went down the mask and hit the table.

Chapter 7: And Today Was Going so Well

'Ok I know this is my first time inside a castle but, WHERE THE HECK ARE WE GOING.' Tael thought loudly to himself as Link followed Spike through the castle, Tael tried to keep track of where they were going but everywhere they went it looked exactly the same that he ended up getting confused.

Link however was enjoying the little walk to his new room, he looked around at the interior of the castle, and he never seen such a cleaner looking castle, well one he could remember and he couldn't remember if he had been to any other castle. He then decided to may as well enjoy the one he was in and not get caught up in something that small.

"So, Link was it you've been the main thing the girls have been talking about for a while, it must really suck to not have your memory." Spike said trying to start the conversation with the colt who's been quite quiet.

"Yeah it's been strange, but I'll probably get over it." He said staring at the dragon. Link didn't know why but seeing a dragon didn't really bother or surprised him that much, it was weird but this whole day so far has been strange for him.

"Well here we are." Spike said opening a door into a empty yet furnished room. Link walked into the room and looked around, it had the essentials a bed by the window, a bookshelf in the wall a couple shelves on the wall and a nightstand by the bed and a small table. Link wasted no time as he ran and jumped onto the bed and laid down.

"Yes a comfy bed, this is the best." Link said as he laid sprawled out "I feel this is all I need right now." He said with a goofy smile on his face

Spike laughed a bit at the colt's reaction "Guessing you haven't slept on good bed in a while." Spike said as he stared at him.

'Well aside from the hospital bed, Link has been sleeping on the ground for a while. One thing I know for sure Link loves to sleep but he absolutely adores sleeping on beds especially comfy ones.' Tael thought shaking his body side to side 'Can't believe one of the few thing he remembers is his love for sleeping.'

"Oh man I just want to fall asleep all day right now." Link said happily as he closed his eyes and relaxed

"Well don't stay asleep too long now, I'm sure you're hungry so I'm gonna make you a snack." Spike said, to which Link nodded absentmindedly as he slowly fell asleep. Spike seeing that Link had fallen asleep left the room quietly closing the door behind him. He sighed as he walked towards the kitchen "He'll be fine by himself." He said

After a few minutes had passed and he was sure the coast was clear Tael flew out from under Link's hat, he sighed resting his body onto the bed. He looked out the window staring out into the town. "This place is so different, sure Termina and Hyrule had some species that Hylians thought were strange, like the Gorons, Zora and heck even us fairies. The difference being that in both those worlds the horses didn't really talk back or act as sentient, they were just animals. And the way we got here, at least the portal to Termina was a long fall after you enter a log in some mystical woods, the one that brought us here to this Ponyville it just up and showed up out of nowhere and in the middle of a fight no less." He sighed "Darn it we're gonna have to stay here till Link get's everything sorted out. We're on a quest to find his friend and I promised I would help. Tatl went through a lot to save the world, I just want to repay him for all he's done."

Tael looked up into the sky "Oh sis I hope you and Skull Kid are doing fine without me, I promised I'll be back soon and I want to keep that promise." He looked at Link "I just hope it's before he gets in too deep, the last thing we need is Link staying here forever." He stared down at the town then back at Link who was comfortably asleep. Tael smiled and chuckled "At least he remembers one of things he loves most." He said slowly closing his eyes as well falling asleep by the window sill

"Look Storm I know it's bad but come on you gotta give me props, I fought a chimera with an injury and barely noticed. That has to mean something right." Steel said with a small grin on his face as he sat on his bottom bunk bed in the guard's barrack

"It means you have an even thicker head then I previously thought and that's saying something." Storm said removing his helmet "You were lucky the only thing you got from that chimera slamming you onto the ground was coughing blood, especially with how much force was used, thank goodness the doctors managed to help best they could." He said giving his partner and best friend a blank look

Steel chuckled a bit "Yeah I guess you're right, but hey at least no civilians were hurt but makes you wonder why that thing was in Ponyville of all places." Steel said rubbing his chin with his hoof "You think it was looking for something or somepony perhaps revenge." He said ominously

Storm sighed, Steel while his best friend did have a very active imagination; which is the reason he comes up with very strange conclusions "It doesn't matter now that it's gone and we shouldn't worry about it anymore it won't be coming back to bite us in the flank." Storm finished removing his armor and setting it on the top bunk over Steel's bunk "Anyway's I'm going for a walk, take some time to relax. I'll be back later." He said walking out of the barracks Steel watching as he left.

"He needs to really find something to loosen, maybe I should be the one to find out what it is. What hobby would he even like." Steel rubbed his chin with his hoof then shrugged "I'll get on that later I have more pressing matters to deal with." Steel reached into his bag and pulled out a small portable console, he turned it on and set it down "I've been waiting all day to beat this level." He muttered as he began playing.

Storm sighed as he walked along one of the roads, the sunset covering the town in orange hue, stalls were closing as were some stores. He was was staring straight ahead as he hummed a small random tune to himself as he walked, enjoying the look of the town 'Everyone is so happy here it's a bit infectious, It's pretty hard to keep a straight face while on duty with all these ponies being so happy.'

Storm stared up into the sky 'It has been a while since I really flew, maybe I should.' He opened up his wings and began flapping as he flew up into the orange sky, he stared down at the town once he was high enough 'Jeez for a town so small it sure has a lot to offer.' He thought to himself

'I guess this is another point for you dad if you hadn't told me to sign up for the guards I probably wouldn't have been able to come here.' Storm then sighed as he stared forward 'It's been a while since I've seen everyone, I hope I'm not missing too much. I wonder if Gale got any big music thing coming up wouldn't want to miss that little filly play something, is Jet still not used to working at the weather factory did he get a promotion. Mom must be relieved to have one less child to deal with.' Storm landed on a cloud and stared down

'I guess this is one of the downsides of moving out.' He laid down and stared down at the town 'Getting homesick, maybe I'll visit soon.' He yawned a bit and slowly closed his eyes to rest a bit.

Unfortunately that lasted for a solid ten seconds before he heard a scratchy voice "Hey buddy kinda need that cloud gone if we want clear skies." Storm opened his eyes to see Rainbow Dash floating above him "You gonna move or should I just kick it out from under you." She said

"O-oh right sorry about that." Storm flew off the cloud as Rainbow bucked it making it disappear

"There all done for today's work, should go report this later." She said looking over at Storm "Hey you're one of Twilight's guards right?" She asked

"Yes I am, Storm Guard is the name, my name I mean." He answered a bit awkwardly. "And you're Rainbow Dash." He said

"That's me." She said a bit smug then looked at Storm "Hey I thought you royal guards had to be all stiff and no emotion." She said turning to face him

"That's only when we're on duty with a princess or at the castle, off duty and other times we can show that we aren't stiff as you put it and show emotion normally." He answered looking away from her. Storm didn't really feel comfortable talking to somepony so famous when he was just a simple guard. It would go like almost every encounter he had with a pony since he joined the guard who tried to strike a conversation with him. A pony would strike a conversation about him or his job when he was off duty, then after a bit they would get bored and just hoped he finished talking soon so they could leave and never bother with him. It didn't bother him much, he enjoyed his job and if others couldn't well that wasn't his problem, but this was somepony else entirely somepony famous who had saved Equestria multiple times. He had never felt this nervous before when he was having a conversation. Storm then realized Rainbow Dash was talking to him, he quickly shook his head refocusing on the mare in front of him

"I thought you were off duty and suppose to show emotion not go all stiff." She said, a joking tone in her voice

"Sorry got lost in my thoughts for a second." He chuckled blushing a bit from embarrassment "What was your question?"

"Well I was asking you how you guards can keep that straight face of yours all the time, I tried to make two guards try to break out, but they weren't budging till I got a phoenix involved."

Storm raised his brow wondering if she was talking about the Phoenix from the castle, he ignored it seeing as it wasn't important "Training and lots of it, that's the best I can tell you, you have to be training to be in the guards to understand." He said

"Really they make you guys practice to stay still and do nothing, that must have really sucked." She said with a smile "What about those weapons you guys have, you ever use them?"

"Well unless there is a major threat we don't."

She chuckled "Yeah I guess that would make sense but seeing as how peaceful Canterlot is compared to this place, but don't you worry with us around you guys won't have to worry too much." She said with a small wave of her hoof.

"Yeah you're right about that." Storm said as he stared straight ahead with a blank look.

Rainbow noticing the look she nudged him "Hey maybe when me or my friends aren't around you and the other guards can take care of things here." She said with a smile hoping that would cheer him up

He smiled a bit "Thanks." He said "I should be going back soon don't want to stay out too long." He said

Rainbow nodded in understanding "Yeah I should be going too, we should hang out soon, maybe you can tell me more about guard stuff." She said

Storm stared at her looking a bit surprised but then he nodded "Oh sure and maybe you can tell me all about your adventures and other feats."

"I was going to anyways, but I guess I'm gonna have to now that you asked." She said "I'll see ya around Storm." She then flew off, Storm watching till she disappeared into the sky, he sighed then flew down towards the ground and began walking back to the castle 'Maybe I should interact with others more.' He thought to himself.

Link slowly opened his eyes as he felt the warm sun rays on his eyes causing him to groan from the discomfit. He tried turning in his sleep to ignore the light only for him to fall off where he was sleeping. Link pushed himself up and rubbed his eyes ridding himself of any grogginess. He stood up and looked around realizing he wasn't in his new room but instead a small area with just a tree and flowing water that went through some sort of drain. There also seemed to be a frog jumping up and down occasionally croaking everytime it did .

"Wait where am I." He said as he looked at the bench where he had fallen off from, he noticed a door in one of the walls but he wasn't sure if anyone lived there. "This is weird." He walked up a hill arriving at a central part of town. He looked around watching as many ponies were working some carrying large planks of wood on their shoulder and some giving orders to them.

He walked down from where he was watching them go to work, not looking where he was going he bumped into someone "Oh sorry." Link said looking at the pony he bumped into; who was smaller then him. The pony stood up and ran away from Link who noticed a number three on the back of a shirt he was wearing. Link simply shrugged and continued walking through the main part of the town.

He smiled "Seems they're preparing for something." Link said softly to himself and he was right as he noticed many different stalls opening up while some workers were setting up fireworks. Foals were also running around some wearing masks, Link had found it quite strange but it must be normal for the place he was in heck maybe it was tradition. Link then felt something underneath his hat, reaching up with his hoof he removed it as a small creature similar to the one who saved his life came out, although this one was different instead of a purple color this one was a light yellow. It began making strange noises that sounded much like a bell but from the way it was trying to speak it seemed to be in a hurry or worried.

"What's wrong, I'm guessing something is wrong or you wouldn't really sound like it, but you mainly sound like a bell to me and well." He noticed the creature giving him an annoyed look "Oh sorry, so what's the problem?" He asked causing the creature to sigh and gesture with her eyes to look up, but all he saw was clear blue skies "There's nothing up there I don't see what the problem is." He said then noticed something on top of the clocktower. "Wait what's that?" He asked

He squinted his eyes trying to get a better look saw that it was another pony wearing a strange yet for some odd reason ominous mask. Link eyes then widen as the moon appeared just over the town and began slowing coming down, he stepped back in fear as the moon came down on the top of the tower. He looked around but no one seemed to notice or care as if they didn't believe it was there. Then in a instant he was blasted away in a fiery explosion. All Link could do was scream as he was blown away from the fire, the last thing he heard before he lost consciousness was a childish laugh that seemed to echo.

Link sat up and gasped breathing a bit heavily as he woke up from the dream he just had. He looked around seeing that he was still in the room he was given. "Just a dream." He said, beginning to calm down "It felt so real though, like I was actually there." He sat on his bed for a few minutes before falling back down on his bed. He sighed and rubbed his face with a hoof he stared out the window and saw it was starting to get dark the sun disappearing behind the horizon and the moon slowly rising. For some reason the moon he was staring at seemed much more calming then the one in his dream. As the moon shined sending a bit of a light into the room he noticed the creature that had been accompanying him was asleep. He thought of shaking the small creature awake but went against it, deciding to let him have his rest, he removed his hat and placed it over Tael. He nodded then walked out of the room.

"Just need to take a small walk, that'll clear my head." He said to himself, his stomach then growled a bit "And get something to eat when was the last time I ate." As Link walked through the halls he realized he didn't take time to think which way to go "Did I really memorize this place, shouldn't I be getting lost from all these doors and multiple paths." He sighed and shook his head "Guess I had a great memory before I forgot who I was."

As Link walked through the halls of the castle he stopped when he heard a scream "Something's wrong." Link began running towards the source, he didn't know why but he felt a certain urge for him to go and help whoever had just screamed.

Standing in the center of the room was a strange yet familiar looking creature, it's body seemed to be made entirely of wood, it had spines that were going from its back all the way to the bottom of a tail that was also made of wood they however were made of leaves instead of wood, like the rest of it's body. Then there were its eyes which were a orange color with small light green pupils and it's mouth was open in a O shape that wouldn't close.

The creature saw Link "Link, please get help." It spoke in a distorted voice that sounded familiar to him, Link then realized why this thing looked familiar to him

"S-Spike what happened to you?" He asked the transformed Spike

"I don't know." He said "All I remember was the mask attaching to my face and." Before Spike could finish what he was saying Twilight had ran in

"Spike what happe-." She stopped and gasped once she saw the condition Spike was in. She stared at him in shock for what she was seeing

"Twilight thank Celestia you're here you gotta help me please something happened." He said running up to Twilight making a strange squeaking noise as he moved. He stopped and put his wooden claws onto her "I found a mask and it turned me into this please tell me you can fix this." He said hopefully as he stared up at her

"Spike I have to figure out what this is first." She said trying to calm the wooden dragon "Tell me what happened, and from the beginning" She said stepping back to stand next to Link

Spike nodded and took a deep breath and sighed "Okay here's what happened"

Spike hummed as he walked towards the kitchen, set on giving Link something to eat. "Wonder how long its been since he went without food, might as well finish this quick and get back to my room and." Spike stopped "I left that mask out in the open better put it somewhere safe just in case." Spike turned around and began running back to his room.

When Spike arrived he saw the mask right where he left it, he walked over and picked it up holding it in front of his face "Sorry about leaving in the middle of our conversation, had to take care of something real quick." He smiled "You weren't too lonely right." He asked the mask which then responded by glowing twice

"That's good I'm sure it's weird being a mask right." He said "Speaking of which how are you able to understand me, are you alive or something?" Spike stared at the mask for a few minutes frowning at the mask being unresponsive "Hey it's alright you don't have to answer that, I shouldn't have asked anyways you going to be okay?" The mask's eyes glowed once but they were much more dimmer then before a sad atmosphere coming from it.

Spike frowned he must have hurt the masks feelings, even if it was just a sentient mask it made him feel really bad. He sighed "I'm sorry I hope you aren't too upset over what I said." The eyes glowed twice causing Spike to feel a bit better "Thanks I'll try and make it up." He said with a confident tone.

Spike looked around "Anyways I have to make Link something to eat and I need to put you somewhere safe, you don't mind me leaving you alone for a bit longer. I'll be back as soon as I can." The masks eyes glowed twice, now back to it's normal brightness causing Spike smile to grow wider by a bit

As Spike looked around for a safe spot to place the mask it had begun to glow but it was very dim which went unnoticed by Spike. It began to shake a bit in Spike's claws but he was too preoccupied to notice again. After a minute the mask glowed brightly shining most of the room in a white light. Spike noticing finally gasped as the mask floated out of his grasp, and in a instant it shoot towards Spike going for his face.

The mask turned in mid air into the hollow side and attached to his face, Spike had no time as he felt his entire body begin to change. Spike stumbled backwards his back against his small bed, he groaned as he began to feel his body changing, some of his bones grew smaller but not by much. Soon wood began growing all over his body covering his scales from the top of his head to the bottom of his tail. Spike groaned, the transformation causing him some discomfort and pain but not much since the changes were small. Soon the transformation finished causing Spike to fall back onto his bed falling unconscious from the overexertion. However just before he lost his consciousness he heard a small squeaky and distorted voice "Oh no."

"And when I woke up, this is the first thing I saw. Twilight I don' feel right please tell me you know some spell that can fix this.

Twilight sighed as she looked at Spike new body, he was pretty much a timber dragon now and wasn't sure how a mask could cause that. Right now though, she needed to help spike from this dilemma "I'll Ty and find something Spike, I never seen anything like this, just be careful." She said then walked out intent on finding a solution.

Spike looked at Link "Talk about a strange weekend huh pal." Spike said to Link then shaking his head letting out a long sigh. That action then caused a bubble to form and shoot from his mouth, it flew across the room and hit the wall leaving a sticky substance . "That's new and messy."

Link had remained silent as he stared at Spike, he just couldn't help but feel like he knew what this creature was but he was undecided if he should be cautious or sad it was so strange. "Maybe it's best to just wait things out and maybe you should stay away from fire considering your new body."

"Gee you think." Spike said with a annoyed look on his face "and why can't I close my mouth it hurts having it open like this." He said putting his wooden claws on the snout and trying to close it but failed to do so, he however manages to cause spikes to pop out his head causing him and Link to jump in surprise "whoa maybe this isn't so bad after all." He said then remembered he was made of wood and not a dragon anymore "I still hope Twilight can find a way to fix this." All Link could do to help was nod

Chapter 8: Don't Crash or Burn

After the incident with Spike had transformed, Link having no idea on how else to help decided to go back to his room. Spike still not used to his new form and a bit frightened of what other changes have happened to him. Twilight while sounding confident when she told Spike she would find a way to fix this. Not only was she faced with yet another creature she's never seen before it was also in the form of her dragon companion. She had spent all night looking through every book she had that may have a small sliver of a clue as to what Spike had turned into and how a mask had made him this way but sadly there were no such clues.

While most ponies had fallen asleep, Twilight had continued to work through the night as she usually did looking for the answer. All she got during that night was dead end after dead end. While she grew a bit more irritated she continued to search. Soon the moon had gone down and the sun rose, shining it's radiant yellow hue over Equestria waking all those who had been asleep. Even if they didn't want to be awoken.

Link groaned as he covered his head with his pillow trying to shield himself from the suns way of waking a pony up which was simply blinding them whether their eyes were open or not. Try as much as he could Link couldn't go back to sleep, covering his face with a pillow or blanket wasn't his idea of relaxing and getting up to close the blinds wasn't a journey he was willing to make. After a while Link groaned unable to go back to sleep, he got up and off the bed and shut the blinds causing him to sigh. "Dumb sun, dumb light, dumb brightness, can't I get some sleep around here without being bothered." He muttered as he grabbed his hat and placed it on, he saw that Tael was still asleep, he carefully picked up the small sprite and placed him under his hat and smiled. He walked out of the room and began searching for the kitchen.

After spending at least five minutes searching, Link had finally found the room, once he entered he saw Spike inside, making a sandwich. The now wooden dragon turned and looked at Link waving a wooden claw at the colt. Link waved a hoof back "You making breakfast?" He asked to which Spike nodded in response

"Not for me, It's Twilights, she's been up all night ever since what happened. She usually does this so I have to make sure she eats and doesn't collapse." He said "You can have anything you want, you are technically living here now." He said as he walked out of the room with the sandwich heading towards Twilight's study.

"Not feeling like food right now." He said although he did feel thirsty, he looked at the fridge "He did say I could have anything I want, may as well get a drink." He said to himself, he walked to the fridge and opened it to see a wide variety of food and drinks, he also did a double take to notice some gems inside but he decided not to dwell on it. Link spotted a carton of milk which hasn't been open yet, he grabbed the carton and closed the fridge. "Guess this will do." He noticed a empty glass cup on the table and walked over to balancing the carton on his back. He opened it and poured the milk into the glass and filled it. He chugged the milk down but tasted something strange. Still feeling thirsty he refilled the glass and drank it still finding it to taste strange.

His thirst however wasn't quenched as a solution he decided to just go for it and grabbed the carton with both his hooves and began drinking from it. He chugged the entire thing not taking a breath as he drank the entire carton till it was empty. He placed the empty carton down and wiped his muzzle of any excess milk when he felt a strange feeling in his head. His body began swaying, he teetered back and forth almost as if he was going to fall. Even though he tried his best not to, Link tripped on his own hooves falling face first into the floor

Link stared at the ground his vision began to become very fuzzy, he tried rubbing his eyes trying to make it go away but it was still there after he stopped. "Why's e-e-everyyyyything." He hiccuped in the middle of his sentence "F-f-fuzzzzy."

Tael the fairy turned parasprite having woken up from Link falling which had given the small creature to get quite a wake up. Tael floated out from under Link's hat and looked down at Link, he tackled the back of his head a few times softly of course as to not hurt the colt who laid on the floor. "Link is everything alright?" The purple parasprite asked his friend worried he was hurt.

Link looked up at Tael and chuckled "H-h-heeyyyyy weird creatttture thing, gooood m-m-morrrning." He said with a drunken slur causing him to laugh a bit as he laid on the floor with a goofy grin on his face. Tael gasped as he looked at his partner

"Oh no he's drunk, not good, definitely not good." He said noticing the carton of milk on the table "Oh sweet giants Link please don't tell me you drank all of that without a break." He went over to the carton to inspect it, when he saw the results he gulped as he remembered one of the stories his sister had told him when she was with Link in their adventure in Termina.

"Come on Link, get off that stool and let's go you've been drinking too much of the chateau romani." Tatl said floating over the drunken young adventurer who was holding another bottle in his hand as he laid his head on the bar table, his face had a drunken blush as he had a dopey smile on his face.

"A-A-Awww come on Tatllll I'll let you know when I had enough." He giggled as he drank some more of the milk "You should try it." He said pushing the bottle up to her but almost falling off the stool in the process.

Tatl groaned "No Link I'm not now stop wasting your rupees on this, you're gonna overdose and have the worst stomach ache in the morning." She said trying to convince the young hero to stop. "And we still gotta save Termina from skull kid in case you forgot

"Bahhhh I-I've dealt with worse then a stomach ache Tatl and besides I h-h-helped Cremia deal with those bandits I deserve this." He said "Plus getting that hug was a pretty great reward too." He said in a small whisper as he felt another blush that made his ears burn a bit. "Anyways you gotta stop worrying we'll be just fine. "Hey barkeep another one please." Link said after pulling out more rupees and setting them down on the counter.

Tatl noticing the amount gave a small sigh of relief "Good that isn't enough for him to get the chateau romani, maybe now we can hopefully leave." She however was suprised when she saw the barkeeper take the rupees and give Link another glass of milk "H-Hey what are you doing. That's not enough to pay for the chateau." She said getting a bit angry

"You're right little miss, but it's enough for regular milk." The bar keep said cleaning a glass in his hand. "Seems he has the chateau curse now. Any milk he drinks is now going to be alcoholic." He said as if it weren't a big deal

"WHAT." Tatl said her glow changing from yellow to red "HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK, IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE."

"You tell me about sense when you stop being a magical fairy little miss." The barkeep said in a calm voice, causing Tatl red glow to change from red to light shade of pink "Best explanation I could give you is magic, there's something in the chateau that causes the curse. It's one of the many mysteries of Termina."

"So now any milk he drinks is alcohol." She stared at Link who was paying no mind to the conversation and seemed to be day dreaming. "That can't be healthy."

"Well yes but he won't get drunk or feel any of the nasty side effects of being drunk if he drinks a normal amount, but if he drinks a whole bottle or carton full well expect him to be drunk, just tell him to slow down on the milk drinking."

Tatl stared at Link some more, this is just what she needed more reasons for Link to get in trouble, well she'll explain it when he sobers up. "Thanks we'll be on our way. Come on Link let's go."

Link groaned and finished his milk and placed the glass down and followed her his steps however were very dis-coordinated so he had trouble following her especially up the stairs. Tatl sighed and just hoped this would be over soon.

"Oh man I promised Tatl Link wouldn't get drunk off milk again, she's going to be so mad if she finds out." Tael said pacing in mid air "Ok just gotta get Link to bed and have him sleep, he'll have a hangover but he'll be fine in the end." He continued to mutter to himself not noticing Link walking towards the exit

"I-I-I neeeeed some fressssh airrrr." He said opening a door that had lead outside the castle. "Y-y-y-youuu can feel the fresh air." He said as he stepped outside and began trotting towards the town each movement nearly causing him to fall over.

"Alright Link let's get you to be-" Tael eyes widened and he quickly flew after him "Wait Link come back you need sleep, you love that right?" Tael flew after him determined not to lose the young hero. "Come on this isn't what we need right now, what we need is for you to be sober and not drunk, how does that sound. Must sound pretty appealing right now huh." Tael quickly flew in front of Link

"Heyyyy weird creature, I wassss just heading into town, g-get like a piece of fruit or something." He giggled a bit as a drunken blush made itself more apparent on his muzzle

As Spike entered the library holding the tray of food he had prepared for the princess he walked over each footstep causing that strange squeaking sound each time which was beginning to get on his nerves. He quickly placed the plate down on Twilight's work station "Twilight I know I asked to find a cure for this I didn't mean for you to forget to eat and sleep." Spike said putting his wooden claws on his hips as he stared at Twilight who was reading through a book.

"Spike I'll be well rested and taking care of myself again in no time, but first to figure out what you were turned into it first. I mean it's not like you turned into a creature that has never been seen in Equestria like those lizards but hey I'm sure there's something in one of these books just gotta keep looking." She said with a yawn as she flipped through a page. Spike merely sighed while covering his mouth to prevent another bubble from coming out his mouth.

"The least you could do is blow out the candles, no need to waste them in broad daylight." Spike said raising two wooden claws and bringing them to the flame. However due to Spike's new body gave him some new results, he would usually be protected by his scales when getting rid off the flame off a candle and they weren't flammable.

His new body had brought him some new results however "I mean seriously Twilight gotta make each candle count right." Spike then sniffed the air smelling smoke "Wait do you smell something burning I thought I turned that candle off." Spike raised his hand to shut off the flame until he realized his hand was on fire "TWILIGHT!" Spike yelled as he began waving his hand around trying to get rid of the fire which continued to spread to his arm

Twilight looking up from her book gasped seeing Spike on fire, she quickly looked around for something to douse the flames with, thankfully she found a pitcher of water next to the sandwich Spike brought. Levitating it with her magic she ran over to Spike.

"Spike stay still." She said to the wooden dragon who stayed in place once he realized the stop drop and roll method wasn't working. Twilight quickly tossed the water onto him getting rid of all the flames. Once all the flames were doused, Spike let out a sigh of relief and looked at Twilight, he was about to thank her but stopped seeing the horrified look on her face. He also noticed that she wasn't looking directly at him

"Twilight what's wrong." He asked looking at what she was getting so worked up at, his eyes widen as they landed on his right arm or where it used to be. Spike's entire right arm was gone the only thing that remained of it was a scorched stump. Spike stared at the stump and began to breath heavily as his body trembled.

"I CAN FIX THIS!" Twilight said and levitated several books and opened them up, she skimmed through them as quickly as she could. "I'm sure there's something here Spike, there has to be something." She frantically kept searching hoping for the solution for this problem was here in her books.

Spike who continued to stare at the stump continued to breath heavily, he felt lightheaded dizzy and was possibly on the verge of passing out from shock. He moved his only hand to the stump and began rubbing it to see if he wasn't hallucinating thinking this wasn't real, but as soon as he touched the spot his heart began to beat faster. He would have fallen unconscious if he hadn't felt something growing. He stared for a few seconds when a couple of roots had began coming out of his stump. More had came out and began merging with each other becoming one solid thing. Spike who was in shock didn't seem to realize that half of his arm had grown back; and more roots just kept coming.

"Twilight." Spike tried getting the attention of the mare but she was too focused in her books in trying to find a solution to the problem. "Twilight." Spike tried getting the mare's attention again but failed. He sighed getting annoyed, this however was a bit expected. He took a deep breath and yelled "TWILIGHT!" With that the mare jumped in place and looked at Spike a panicked look in her eyes.

"Spike what is it, what happened." She asked frantically thinking something worse has happened to the young drake. Spike's response was to simply show Twilight his arm which was just finishing up it's regeneration process, his fingers coming back into place where they belonged. Both Twilight and Spike stared at the arm both not saying anything. Spike curled and uncurled his fingers a few times seeing that they were working properly, it's as if he had never lost them or his arm. "H-How is this even possible?" She said staring at the wooden appendage in amazement having never seen anything like that before.

"I don't know but at least it's back now, I wonder if I can do that again." Spike rubbed his chin as he stared at the candle flame that was still lit. "Maybe if I just." Spike then noticed Twilight giving him a look that basically told him not to even try it. He chuckled nervously and put his hands behind his back

"So strange, I really wish I could study this some more but to just test it out, it's too dangerous and I can't risk hurting you. You're not a dragon in the normal sense so you won't be as resistant to pain, you're going to have to be extra careful Spike I don't know if you can regenerate an entire body if that were to happen."

Spike nodded as he listened to Twilight, he was lucky this time and he wasn't as eager to see if he could keep regenerating "Well I guess I won't be cooking as much as I want." He said looking up at her

"We'll figure something out Spike, now why don't you go about your day, I'll eat and get back to finding a way to turn you back." She rubbed the dragon's head and smiled as she lifted up her sandwich with her magic and took a bite. Spike while Twilight couldn't see it was smiling and left the room to let her have her privacy.

As the room became silent once more, Twilight stared down at her plate thoughts plaguing her mind on the current event that have been happening. In just a few days she has become utterly baffled, and it all started when she first brought Link through the portal, those creatures were just the start, then the chimera attacking, her magic not working on Link, and Spike's transformation which could regenerate limbs that were torn or burned off. Twilight sighed, the stress was getting to her but she knew something was wrong, all of these weren't a coincidence somepony had to be behind this but who and why. The one thing that frightened her was what could happen next.

She had to figure this all out soon or else there will be trouble. Once done with her food she continued her search for a cure for Spike and just hoped nothing wrong could happen today.

Link had a dopey grin on his face as he tumbled through Ponyville, occasionally bumping into a Pony and letting out a slurred sorry causing them to give him a weird look that he ignored. Tael who had managed to hide underneath Link's hat after he had left the castle gulped hoping no one would question why the colt was drunk or how he got drunk. He nor Link were in any position of explaining.

Link let out a hiccup as he kept walking "Wwwwhat to do. He looked through the town trying to find something that could hold his interest but couldn't find anything "I guessss I need a guide." He said and began walking again making his way into the market passing by many different stalls. Link looked back and forth between each stall, checking out what each one had to sell. He realized they weren't very diverse only selling one product at each one. He wasn't one to judge on what people sold however and kept browsing, this however caused him to crash into something

"Hey kid watch where you're going, this stuff is fragile." Link looked up to see a pony that had a wagon tied to him, he looked at what he was carrying and saw it was filled with a whole bunch of pots. "Now if you don't mind I have to deliver these things to the store." The pony then began making his way through the market area to his destination.

Link stared at pony go away, but he wasn't looking directly at him, he was looking at the items he had to deliver. Link began following him keeping his eyes on the pots. He was filled with a strange feeling, a urge, to take one of those pots and just smash it. This feeling wouldn't go away as he kept staring at the items in mention. It would just keep growing in him, now he wanted to break all of them. What would it get him though, money, love, the tools to success. He doubted he could get any of those things from doing it, but he still felt like doing it.

Tael seeing Link following the pots quickly hit him from under his hat to get him out of his trance. Link blinked and shook his head, he put a hoof onto his head and rubbed it. "Oh jeez that was weird." He looked around and sighed as he began rubbing the side of his head. He continued walking still in a bit of drunk daze. Link vision began to blur a bit, he tried shaking his head to get rid it. Though it ended up making him lose sight of where he was going causing him to run into something again.

Link groaned and looked up at what he hit this time. It was a stand this time, and it looked to filled with a wide arrange of apples. He must have stared at the apples for a while because he felt somebody shaking him. He turned to the one who got him out of his daze and saw it was a yellow pony with a red mane and large pink bow.

"Hey you okay there? You hit your head and been starin' at the apples for a while." She asked, giving him a strange look

"Yeahhh I'm fine." He said rubbing his face again "Was in a daze for a second, I'm good now." He hiccuped and stared at her "Do I have something on my face." Link rubbed his face with his hoof and looked back at her "Is it gone?"

"You're kinda actin' strange, ya sure you're alright." She said giving him a concerned look

"May have some headache's later with all the stuff I keep running into but I'm sure I'll be fine." Link gave her a smile before falling face first into the floor.

Apple Bloom jumped a bit, not expecting the colt to suddenly fall over. She stared at him growing worried when he didn't make any attempt to get up, she shook his body and saw that he had his eyes closed. He had fallen unconscious. "Oh that ain't good. Hey Big Mac." She called for her brother who walked over from the other side of the cart. "I think he needs some help." She said looking at Link with a worried expression

Big Mac simply nodded, he closed up the stand and buckled it around his waist, he picked the colt up and placed him on his back and began walking back to the farm Apple Bloom following behind.

When Link opened his eyes again, he saw that he was inside a building, he sat up and rubbed his head feeling a massive headache. He groaned and laid back down rubbing his stomach as well, he curled up a bit, his stomach in pain. "Oh that hurts, that really hurts." He groaned and looked up when he heard the door open. In came that small pony he saw earlier along with a much larger red one and an elderly green one; they must have been the one's responsible for bringing him here after he blacked out

"Hey there." The elderly one spoke first as she hobbled over to the side of the bed to look at him "ya feelin' alright, musta taken somethin' from your pa's storage to get drunk like that. I'll never understand you youngin wanting to grow up like that."

Link stared at her and was about to say something till he felt his stomach grumble and felt something coming up his throat "Big Mac, Bucket." The elder said

"Eeyup!" The large pony said grabbing a bucket and quickly moving over to the bed, Link put his head and began emptying any contents of his stomach, after a few seconds Link pulled away and panted a bit, his face had lost a bit of color but he was fine for the moment. Big Mac wrinkled a bit at the smell and quickly went to dump the waste away and clean the bucket

"You gonna be alright." Apple Bloom asked as she looked at Link who nodded "Why were you actin' so funny earlier?"

Link shrugged as he looked at her "I don't know, I just felt strange after I just had some milk this morning, everything is sorta fuzzy after that. One second I feel like breaking a bunch of pots, then I'm hungry for apples, finally I'm here in somepony else's bed. I just can't seem to get a break."

"Well that seems mighty tough for ya, now why don't you rest up here, I'll fix ya up some grub then we can talk for a bit." Granny Smith asked, Link seeing no other option nodded in agreement. "Name's Granny Smith, this here's Apple Bloom, and the large pony you saw was my grandson Big Macintosh, now you rest up, I'll have Big Mac come for ya later." She said before leaving, Apple Bloom following behind her.

Link sighed and looked out the window, it was quite away from town and was so quiet because of it. He looked at the wide arrange of apple trees and felt his mouth water a bit, he had a large craving for apples but he needed some rest first. As he looked out the window he noticed a chicken coop, he didn't know why but he made a mental note to stay away from it, the thought of just going there made him shiver.

Chapter 9: So What is it That You Do

Link arose from the bed and stretched, seems no matter where he went the sun would always make sure it would glare at his face preventing him from having the sleep he deserved. Getting out of the bed with a thud, he stood up and stretched his legs, he scratched his head and noticed his hat was missing. He looked around and saw it on a nightstand, he picked it up and looked inside. He gasped, Tael was nowhere to be seen inside the cap. He looked around the room for the parasprite, when he couldn't find him in the room he ran out and began looking for his friend.

Link ran downstairs and then into the kitchen, he panted and looked around for the sprite. He gasped as he saw Tael on the table in another glass jar with a frightened look on his face. Once Tael noticed his friend he began pounding on the glass "Please let me out, I don't like being in jar." Link grabbed the bottle and removed the top letting him out. "Ok Link once we figure out this language barrier and go back home we are gonna figure out how to take healing fairies with us without putting them in bottles. And why am I even bothering, you still can't understand me." He said as he looked at Link's smiling face. "I guess it doesn't matter." He said going back under his hat.

Link smiled and was about to go back to the room till he heard somepony clear their throat. Link turned around noticing Granny Smith along with Apple Bloom standing at the doorway. Link stared at the two and coughed into his hoof when neither parties made a move. "Mind tellin' us what you're doin' with that there parasprite."

"And why are you hidin' it?" Apple Bloom asked looking at his hat. Link unsure what to do or say as he looked at the two ponies, didn't move a single bit. "You okay or do ya need help again?"

Deciding not look like a bigger goof, he cleared his throat "Well you see, I was in this hospital, and when I woke up he was there with me. Ever since then we've been together and I guess he's my friend." He said giving her a shortened version of the whole story "Also if you don't mind can we keep him a secret, after last time and now. I can tell he's not all that welcome."

Granny Smith remained silent "You trust this little thing to not cause any trouble." She said to which Link responded with a confident nod. The matriarch of the Apple farm moved closer to Link and leaned in a bit too close as she stared him in the eyes. Link kept his eyes on her feeling a bit nervous as she analyzed him. Her frown soon turned into a smile "Well then why don't ya both get to table while I rustle you two somethin' to eat." She said walking over to the fridge to get started on the food.

Link looked at her for a moment before sighing. He looked over at Apple Bloom who was reaching for his hat. She pulled her hoof back and laughed nervously. "Sorry just wanted to see the little guy. Never seen one up close without them eating everything in sight." She said rubbing her foreleg.

"It's alright, but from the few days I've known him, he doesn't do well around others he doesn't know and vice versa." He said "Best to give him his space, which is very little considering he's in my hat." He said adjusting it a bit.

"I understand, now come on, let's get ya something to eat, I'm sure you're hungry." She said walking to help her granny.
Link stomach grumbled causing him to nod "Very." He said as he went to have a seat at the table.

Later

Link sighed and patted his stomach, having just finished eating what he could say the best meal he's had in a long while. He wiped his mouth and sighed "That was a delicious meal, thank you for the food Granny Smith." He said as he looked over at the elderly pony who had given him such a fine meal.

"Aw shucks it was nothin' just feeding a youngin' like I always do." The elderly pony said as she finished cleaning up the dirty dishes. "Can't really have our house guest be hungry, especially after he's gotten into the big pony beverage cabinet." She said looking at him "Which is why I gotta ask, what kind of irresponsible pony left a drink that youngins' like you aren't supposed to have?"

Link stayed silent for a moment "No one really, I just had milk which tasted really good, more than usual, I think. Then all of a sudden, I barely remember anything that happens after that. I'm just as confused as you are." Link sighed as he answered what had happened before his drunken walk through town.

"Hmm that is mighty strange, I suppose it's best for ya to stay off the milk for a while." She took a seat in front of him while Apple Bloom took a seat next to Link "Now Link, while I ain't too keen on lettin' ya go off on your own, you should really head back to where ya stayin' less you want to worry your caretaker."

Link nodded in agreement "Yeah I should, they probably don't know where I've been since I left." He stood up and bowed his head "Thank you for your hospitality Granny Smith, I hope I can repay it." He said causing the old mare to chuckle.

"No need to thank me youngin', or repay me, us Apples are always ready to help anypony in need." She replied to which Link nodded simply, though he still felt a need to repay them in any way he could. With that, Granny walked him to the door and opened it "Just take the path and you'll be back in town in no time." Link nodded and began walking once he gave his goodbyes to the two. Walking along the path he heard the sounds of somepony following him as he walked, he stopped to look back and saw Apple Bloom coming up behind him.

"Sorry just remembered I had somewhere to be, and thought I may as walk with ya till I get there." She said. Seeing no problem, Link agreed and kept walking with the filly. "So Link you gonna start coming to school anytime soon?" Apple Bloom asked, due to not seeing the colt in school before and thinking he may join her and the others soon.

Link raised a brow, for some reason when she mentioned this school, he didn't really seem to know the word "I don't know really, haven't been here considering I just got here. I guess I could ask about this school." He said

"Yeah here's hoping to seein' ya again real soon." The two reached the small gate separating the farm land from the town "Well I'll see you later." She said giving him a small wave as she walked off in a different direction, Link gave her a wave back and looked around "Hmm now where is that huge sparkling castle, shouldn't be too hard to find." He muttered softly and began walking in what he hoped was the right direction.

Storm was quite honestly surprised at how quickly the residents had fixed the damages caused by that chimera attack. When he had heard about Ponyvilles track record of fixing damage caused by monsters in no time he was a bit skeptical. Seeing it first hoof though made him really realize how accustomed the ponies have become of the town destruction situation.

"This town has really earned its reputation, maybe things would be interesting like Steel said. Though for his sake I hope he doesn't get into too much trouble, he may be a hard worker yet he always jumps straight into a problem without thinking of what to do first." Storm let out a small chuckle as he remembered all the high jinks his friend had gotten into, especially the times he was dragged into it; Storm while a focused and responsible guard was by no means a stiff 24/7.

As Storm continued his patrol he had noticed a familiar figure up ahead, squinting his eyes to try and get a better look he figured out who it was. It's the lost colt he and the other guards were were looking for yesterday as ordered by the princess. Though from the looks of it, he was lost in a different meaning of the term this time around. Storm wasn't really sure if he interact with the foal, from what he's heard this colt came out of nowhere and has no background information on his past, nobody knew much about him and they weren't sure if that was a good or bad thing. Some rumors had popped up between the guards some he didn't really find believable. "Maybe I should go check see if he's okay. Wouldn't want to start another search party for him already." He muttered to himself before trotting towards the yellow colt.

Link was looking around obviously stumped on where he was supposed to go now. He had been walking around for a bit though he couldn't really recognize where he was, so no using familiarity to find his way back to the castle. His ears twitched as he heard Storm walking over to him, he turned his head towards the guard with a bewildered look on his face wondering what he could want with him.

"Hey you're uh." Storm had only realized that he didn't know the colt's name, he listened to rumors but not to what name they gave him. "That kid everypony was looking for yesterday right." He finished not sure what else to say. He wasn't good around foals he didn't know, family he was but that's because he had a cheat known as his mother to help him out with that. Now though he had to wing it by himself, hopefully he didn't come off too awkward.

"Yeah, my name is Link." The colt informed the guard

Storm nodded simply, strange name for a colt but he wasn't going to judge him for it "So you seem lost, you looking for somepony or is it something else?" He asked trying to see if he could help the colt out in anyway he could.

"Uh sure, I'm sorta lost and could use the help finding my way to the castle."

Storm nodded and gestured to follow him as he began heading towards back to the castle. Link followed close behind the guard. The two walked in silence not sure what to say to the other. Link didn't want to pry into the older pony's business and Storm wasn't sure what conversation he could have with the colt. Link who wasn't really liking the awkward silence was trying to figure out something to talk about without being too much of a bother to Storm.

"So uh." Link then realized he didn't know the guards name, Storm took note of this and cursed silently to himself for being rude. "It's Storm Guard, just call me Storm." Storm said.

"Oh right gotcha." He said taking a moment to remember his name. "So Storm what's the armor you have on for?" Link asked

Storm gave a small chuckle at Link's question "It's the armor of a Royal guard. Well it's more of a uniform then armor but it's required that the royal guard ponies wear it when serving under a princess. Royal guard ponies don't ever really need to worry about wearing these for armor in case of an attack." Storm looked back at Link noticing he had a confused look on his face. "Equestria being peaceful most of time except with the occasional threats that we don't cannot handle ourselves are there to protect the princesses even if they don't need it. We royal guard ponies are also required to keep the peace among ponies and protect them as best we can from these threats though with less then positive results. " He said not really affected by the meaning of his words.

"Really then why do ponies work as a guard's pony for the princesses if it's usually peaceful?"

"Everypony has their reasons, Some wanted to guard the princesses because they are fiercely loyal to them, others thought the job was easy and simple enough for them something for them not to worry about it. Few are in it for the glory thinking they could make a big name for themselves." Steel came to mind when Storm had said that. "A lot however are doing it due to either being in debt to somepony and not really having a job to pay or their current job isn’t paying them well enough. The job of a royal guard pays very well if it’s just you or if it’s you and your family." He gave a small smile as he remembered how many ponies had lived a much healthier and happier life because of the job of serving the Princesses.

"That goes to show one of the many ways the princesses have their subjects health and well being to heart. As for myself I wasn’t going to offer much help to my old job anyways, not with better ponies working the same job but hey doesn't really bother me, would rather work as a guard then a storm adviser. Too much pressure to have ponies rely on me to make sure nothing bad goes on when making storms. I decided to go with guard instead, half my name already applies so may as well, plus I did want to be a guard when I was colt." He said with a small shrug. Sure there were a few problems, the early hours he had to be awake, the long and boring patrols, the seemingly short day offs and really no time to visit family.

Link nodded at the guard’s explanation and began thinking to himself. Did he used to have a job, was there something he was good at or was he just a talentless pony, why did the mention of princesses cause a faint image of somepony he thought he recognized but the image didn’t stay long as it slipped from his mind in an instant. With a small sigh at the brief memory and its disappearance he decided to ask another question so they wouldn’t go back to an awkward silence. “So who exactly are these princesses you’re guarding?” Link asked the guard.

Storm had continued walking a bit after hearing that question, after a minute or two he decided to respond. “You really must not live around here if don’t know the princesses.” Link looked away from pony embarrassed that he even asked the question “Hey no need to feel self-conscious it’s just not really something you hear too often from anypony really, The princesses are after all quite well known across Equestria and beyond so you don’t usually find a pony who doesn’t know them. What do they teach you foals in school nowadays?”

“I don’t really go to school either, I’m kind of new to this whole place and how it works.” Link replied as he folded his ears back a bit causing Storm to look at him

‘Maybe that’s a matter to bring up to Princess Twilight.’ Storm thought to himself and nodded “I guess I can give you the basic run down on them, it goes like this, first there’s Princess Celestia raiser of the sun and co ruler of Equestria, then Princess Luna who raises the moon and creates the stars in the sky also being the sister of Princess Celestia and co ruler alongside her, Princess Mi amore cadenza who spreads and heals love between ponies who rules the Crystal Empire up north and Princess Twilight who I’m sure you are familiar with who is the Princess of Friendship and spreads the ideals of friendship with her friends the elements of harmony across Equestria and Ponyville.” He said giving a brief description of each Princess and their duties to fulfill.

Link took in the information about the Princesses he got from Storm and began thinking some more, there were a lot of Princesses ruling the land together, this place was stranger than it looked yet he didn’t really feel all that out of place when dealing with strangeness as if he were already accustomed to it.

Storm had begun doing some thinking to Link’s education dilemma, sure the colt was young but how could no pony hear of them, they were quite possibly the most well-known beings in the world right now; their status as Alicorns had also made sure of that. Now though with Link saying he doesn’t know of them it could mean a possibility of reasons, he’s lying, he lives in a ghost of a town where almost no news is reached to the ponies or other creatures living there, or he was quite out of this world but in reality only Steel could believe that one.

Storm was pulled out of his thoughts upon seeing the castle in the distance, seems he was in his thoughts for a quite a bit if they made it here already. “Alright I’m sure you can find the rest of the way to the castle from here on out, I suggest not getting lost on the way there.” Storm said with a bit of joking tone in his voice causing Link to pout a bit at the stallion’s comment. “I got to get back to patrol so you take care now.” He said patting the colt’s back before turning around and walking back with Link giving a small nod and a simple “goodbye” To him.
Link watched the guard leave for a moment before he began making his way towards the castle, making sure he doesn’t get lost on the way towards it.

Spike enjoyed his naps, they were a reward he enjoyed giving himself from a hard day of work and a much a needed recharge to his batteries. He also enjoyed what came with these naps of his, dreams that he always enjoyed taking part in. Each dream different yet still great, dreams of him doing heroic deeds that only he could accomplish, being a well-known celebrity in other places besides the crystal empire, some romantic dreams with a certain alabaster unicorn and maybe a few dreams about him growing wings and flying through the open and fresh sky. The dream he was having now though was unlike any other dream he’s had to date especially the unfamiliar location he was in.
From the looks of it he was standing in front of a Palace of some sort the outside colored red and green the colors colliding halfway vertically on a white line, the water was different from what it normally looked like, instead of a clear blue color the water here was a bit murky. Spike jumped a bit as he felt a hand on his shoulder and looked up at who or what it was.

Standing next to him was a wooden creature that could possibly be related to what he had turned into. This one was much taller than he was, on top of his head were two round bushes of leaves possibly to give the illusion of hair, he also had two long leaves on his round mouth one on each side which gave him a very nice and fancy looking mustache along with two leaves on his chest on a small stump which looked like a bowtie. He stared at the creature wondering what he could possibly want with him.

“Come now son, His majesty is waiting for us and we should not keep him waiting.” The strange tall creature said as he began walking towards the palace, leaving Spike behind with a confused look on his face; Son, was he having a dream about having a parent if so why that and why now, sure the thought of his parents had come into mind from time to time but he couldn’t care, as far as he was concerned Twilight’s parents were the closest he’s had and they were great and while Twilight was around to take care of him just as much she was more like a big sister.

Spike looked at himself, he was back to normal so at least his dreams kept him the same but that's when he noticed something strange. There was some strange water and he didn't know why but something seemed off. When he stepped closer to the water he saw what was so strange and off. Instead of finding himself in the water he instead found the reflection of another strange wooden creature, this one’s face matching the one of the mask.

What could this mean though was he having a dream related to the mask or was this the mask's dream, was the mask alive or something. Did it have a conscious of it's own or was this the creature the mask was based on? Maybe just maybe he was acting a bit crazy and this was just a weird dream he was having but he wasn't sure right now with all the weird stuff going on.

“This is so weird, why would a mask have dreams like this?” He muttered to himself and looked around, taking notice of another thing. Nothing was moving, the clouds in the sky the water or even the weird tall creature from before weren’t moving; it’s as if the world had come to a halt and he didn’t know why. Taking a step towards the creature to check if he was okay, the creature began moving again along with the rest of the world. Spike stopped in surprise and saw that everything had stopped moving yet again. “Hmmmm so everything only moves when I move huh. Let’s test that out.” Taking a few steps backwards thinking the events would reverse he was surprised to see that nothing had moved still.

"Whoa, there's nothing here. That's really weird and not something you usually see." Spike rubbed his chin in thought and looked behind him at a doorway. “I wonder.” Walking towards the doorway he was suspecting to find out more about where he was but as he walked into an empty white space. Looking left and right he realized it was an endless empty white abyss. “This is so weird, just what kinda dream is this.” He said walking back towards the taller creature, he walked closer and the world had begun moving again. Spike then figured that he must follow this strange being if he wanted to move anywhere. The two had continued walking, Spike taking in the palace looks, everything seemed to be made of wood just like the creatures walking around inside including himself. He and the taller creature soon arrived in the throne room where Spike looked around seeing more strange creatures, two had caught his eye though. In the back of the room was one larger than all the rest with a weird scepter in hand and what must be a crown made of leaves just like everything else, and next to him was one exactly his size with a dress made of leaves as well. "Man does everyone of these weird wood things use leaves for everything."

“It’s rude to call us things you know.” A voice next to Spike spoke causing the dragon to yell in surprise and jump a little, turning towards the voice he saw another creature, this one looking exactly like his reflection before

“Deku, we’re called Dekus if that helps you identify better.” The cre- deku spoke as he looked at him. This is one weird dream and how did he read his thoughts. “This isn’t a dream and I can hear them because we’re connected through the mask.”

Spike then looked at him confused for a moment before realizing who this was in front of him “Wait you’re the mask, the one I’ve been talking too!? Spike said as he stood dumbstruck at who was in front of him.

The deku laughed a bit at Spike’s reaction. “Yup that’s me, it’s nice to meet you Spike right?” The deku asked checking if he got the name right, Spike nodded in response to let them know they were right.

“This is amazing, I didn’t think somepony was actually inside this mask, sure when your eyes glowed I was bit suspicious but now this just confirms it. Oh man I have so many to questions to ask.” Spike said in an excited tone as he looked at the Deku.

"Ask away dear friend.” He said with a smile as he looked at him.

“Ok first I gotta ask what are you doing being a mask, from the looks of it you seem to have an actual body of your own.” Spike asked gesturing to him right now. “If it’s too personal I can understand if you don’t want to tell me.”

The deku nodded “it’s fine Spike, I got over this some time ago.” He said though Spike could have sworn he heard a bit of a somber tone in his voice “It was a long time ago but well when I was out visiting the clock town I encountered an imp, he wanted to play, have some fun but I was real nervous not being around different creatures before. That's when he put a curse on me, one that deformed my body and froze me into place the last thing I remembered at that moment was him laughing before everything went dark. Next thing I know I’m on the floor as a mask. I don’t know what happened between those two events at the time but it was not pretty when I did find out." He said staring at the ground for a bit.

Spike frowned as he listened to the story, it was something he really didn't expect to happen, especially someone so small and young. "So you're just a mask now, with no way going back to normal?" He asked

"None at all, my soul is embedded inside the mask never to leave ever, it get's lonely without your friends or family." Deku said as he looked at the taller deku "My dad probably doesn't even know where I am since I disappeared. I would never have the chance to race him again, those times were the best, he was the best." He said with a sad sigh "Still haven't gone over it, it's been so long since then."

Spike felt sadness for the Deku, this was quite the story he was listening to what kinda of place does this sort of thing happen. "So I'm guessing this is your dream huh." Spike said looking around

"Nope, it's a memory of me and my dad, he brought me to the palace with him, it was a fun time, the princess was really nice and the king told me stories about my dad while he worked for him. It's a day I could never forget but it's been so long now."

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that you must really miss him." Spike questioned to which he nodded Sensing they needed a change in subject Spike decided to ask another question "So do you Deku's have any special powers, I learned that you guys can grow your limbs back."

"Oh yeah we got plenty of abilities." The deku said making a complete mood switch "While our species aren't the most dangerous of foes we still are not to be messed with, for example check this out." With a small spin and twirl sharp thorns had popped out all over his body causing Spike to jump back in surprise.

"Whoa that is so awesome!" Spike said walking over and touching one, though he pulled his finger back and shook it as it caused him some pain. He sucked on his finger due to some blood to leak a bit "And sharp, I hate to be the guy to fall into those." He said with a small chuckle

The deku laughed and nodded as the thorns went back inside "Our feet are also sharp too." He dragged his foot along the ground causing a long line to appear behind it.

"Wow is any part of your body not sharp." Spike said with a small chuckle "What else you got?" He asked the deku who giggled softly.

"Also our bodies are super light, we can float with these giant twirling flowers and can even skip over water though it's kind of limited, but trust me when I say this. Skipping over water can be really fun if you don't drown." He said his tone slowly becoming more joyous. Spike smiled as he listened to the deku, learning more about him was certainly very interesting.

"Well as you know we deku's can regrow parts of our body when we lose them, but we also have this special magic we like to use to help us with certain things." He took a deep breath and began to blow a bubble slowly causing Spike to back away not wanting to be anywhere near the weird and kinda disgusting looking thing. When the bubble had grown to full size he shot it to the ground leaving a large spit puddle. "Now since you're a dragon mind breathing fire on this."

Spike while confused with the strange request did it anyways to see where this was going. When he blew a small flame to the spit spot it had caught on fire and began spreading "Us deku's can spit out either deku nuts to push back or blind foes or we can use this special magic to let loose flammable spit bubbles great when dealing with larger foes and such but very few know how to use them."

"That's pretty amazing to be honest, I always thought small stuff like us weren't all that special to be around, that we get in the way of others." Spike spoke as he sat by the flame and stared at it "So how did you end up in Twilight's room and for how long?" Spike asked the deku

"I don't really remember how we got there but I'm sure I was there for more than three days though but it's all sorta of hazy right now not much I can really remember or can remember."

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that, well if you ever do remember anything let me know, so I can help you out anyway I can." Spike said with a confident tone in his tone, one that made the deku feel at ease and calm; That just maybe everything was going to work out in the end. The tone sounded familiar too reminding him of the young blonde human that had kept him company. With that thought the deku suddenly remembered something very important.

"Spike I have to ask you something important." The deku said as he looked the dragon "One thing I remember for sure is the person that I was with before I arrived here. I can't remember all of it but I know he has blonde hair, blue eyes and pointy ears."

Spike rubbed his chin in thought, the only pony that could really fit that description so far was Link but he couldn't be the one, or could he, maybe when he figured out how to go back to normal, he could show the mask to Link maybe he would recognize it.

Spike then noticed the dream was beginning to slowly fade away, he looked at the deku before him "Guess this meeting is over for now." He said standing up and looking at him with a bit of saddened expression "It was great to meet you." He said

"I'll still be with you don't worry, the mask will connect us through our minds, It's sorta like I was your conscious and stuff like that." He said with a reassuring nod

"Well if you and I are going to be talking through minds, then I need to give you a name. You know, so I can recognize you better instead of calling you the Deku all the time." Spike said. The young Deku nodded, he never really did have a name, his species after all were identified by the wood patterns on their body, sorta like how you identified a trees age by the number of rings it had when you chopped it down "I got it, how does Timber sound." Spike suggested with a small smile.

The now named Timber stared at Spike, the name while not original for a wooden creature such as the deku it was meant for, still meant a lot to him "That sounds really good Spike." Timber said his tone oozing with joy at something he never really had before. Spike smiled at the Deku's joy and chuckled "Well here's to new friends." Spike said offering a claw for Timber to shake

Timber stared at the claw and gave an enthusiastic nod as he shook the claw. At that moment the scene slowly began to fade away the last thing Spike saw was Timber's joyful expression on his face.

Spike yawned as he slowly woke up, rubbing his face to get rid of the drowsiness in his eyes, he looked at his claw; still made of wood, guess his dreams is the only place he could go back to normal. He sighed and laid back to stare at the ceiling for a moment, he kept staring at his claw and began to concentrate. Maybe if he focused he could pop out thorns too.

'Maybe it would be easier if you just think of thorns coming out of your body instead of just trying to push them out.' A voice rung out in Spike's head causing him to yelp in surprise and look around the room before realizing who it was "And maybe not so close to your face."

"Yeah maybe you're right Timber." Moving the claw away from his face and sitting up, he just thought of a thorn popping out of it and was surprised as a thorn popped out from his palm, that was really simple and easy. "Whoa now that's cool." He said and looked at his blanket, he carefully moved his hand towards it but it was easily pierced by the thorn "And dangerous, maybe I shouldn't use this around other ponies so I don't send them to the hospital." He said drawing the thorn back in with a simple thought. Getting off his bed he looked at himself and thought for a moment "I gotta show Twilight this she's gonna flip when I tell her about what we are. Something I know that she doesn't this is gonna be fun." Standing up and getting out of his bed, Spike made his way towards the Library where Twilight was mostly likely.

"Peaceful times are a concept that many ponies strive for. It's something that can take the stress off many ponies, let them relax knowing that such a time means there will be no danger no feeling of impeding doom, they can go on with their lives with not a care of the world. Equestria after all was a prosperous land ruled by fair rulers, the kind that care about their subjects, the one who make sure that everypony had a purpose and support from friends and family and with saviors ready to tackle any threat there is. What more could such a peaceful place ask for." A sigh was heard as the sounds of old floor board squeaked withe every step taken due to how loud each squeak was from each step the house must have been very old and abandoned

"Something exciting that's what, peace is great to many but soon enough it get's boring the threats that loom over Equestria are such things that can spice up the life make everything better and not boring. Those didn't last long, however, before they were defeated, the only times Equestria can get exciting only to be thwarted a hour or two later." The squeaking had stopped as the speaker stood still in the darkness of the room, the only sounds heard were the sounds of the ponies outside.

"The mistake each one made, they happened whenever those six ponies were around. Those ponies would always be ready, always prepared to fight off a threat and when things seem to be in the villains favor they are soon defeated. "

"I couldn't afford to make the same mistakes they had done. My work had to be planned, be prepared, or else I can kiss my fun times goodbye. I had this idea going on in my head for such a long time but until now I was ready to begin what I have sought for so long. Excitement thrills exhilaration, all emotions I loved to feel but can only come in go during certain times. Those times were too few and far between. I'll however remedy that situation by making those times myself I won't let anypony get in the way of my fun, I worked too hard for this. Manehattan will be the start of my journey and from there on who knows where I'll go next but I know one thing." From the tiny bit of light in the room a small mask was the only thing noticeable in the room. It was of a simple design, a shape of a small ball with a hole in one spot easy for anyone to put their face through, on the front of the mask was a poorly drawn skull. While simple and goofy looking as if it were for a child this mask was no play thing. The one holding it gave a small grin as he stared at the item in his hand.

"With this mask with me, I can cause my fair share of fun and destruction and be able to make a quick getaway, nopony would ever be prepared for what I have got planned. Everypony in Equestria will know what my goal is and they will realize my greatness for bringing excitement into their boring plain lives. I will show them all, just for you my benevolent master."

Turning towards the other presence in the room, the only distinguishing feature that could be noticed from this figure were it's glowing yellow and red eyes. He let out a small chuckle "Do your job well, and you shall have all the glory and excitement you want to fill your life." Putting a claw hand on his shoulder, Majora grinned "And remember the more chaos and destruction the quicker my power grows to make sure you can do this forever." Majora grin grew in size as he began the steps to reclaiming his strength.

Link may have remembered anything from before he lost his memory but he felt like right now he had probably made one of his biggest mistakes, in front of him was a test with many different questions on it, he stared at the paper than looked up at the pony staring at him. Twilight was sitting patiently a clipboard and quill floating next to her covered in her magical aura. He looked back down at the paper and looked at the first question. He stared at it for what felt like an eternity and with Twilight staring it felt even longer.

Maybe asking about what a school was may have been a mistake on his part but he never expected an outcome like this to happen. After a couple minutes Link looked up at Twilight one more time and took a deep breath. "I can't read." The expression on Twilights face was unreadable to Link mostly likely due to it bearing down on his nerves, he didn't move or say anything until she responded

"This." She started, setting down the clipboard and quill "Is something I never thought I would ever encounter. A pony that can't read equestrian, doesn't know who the princesses are or even what a school is. Just where did you used to live before." She said and began thinking to herself. Link just looked at her while she was lost in thought, was this really a big deal was it not normal of him to know these facts she told him about, just where did he come from was his biggest question at the moment. Twilight soon finished thinking and looked at him with a straight face

"Link I don't know what to say, this is just unacceptable I can't have the thought of somepony not knowing these basic components of everyday walking around. You need school that I know for sure but I can't sign you now. I'm just going to have to teach you some important lessons of my own till you're ready." She said slowly starting to sound enthusiastic about teaching the young colt. Though for some reason Link felt a bit of unease, what's the worst that could happen it's just learning some stuff.

"Now then Link I think it's best if you went off to bed now, tomorrow we start a whole new day of learning, oh with the stuff Spike told me all about the deku's and now you there's so much stuff to do now." She said and began trailing off and at that point Link thought it was time to go before he was roped into anything else. Getting off of his chair Link left the room silently and sighed.

"Is it really that bad that I don't know any of the stuff Twilight questioned me on, is it really that strange." He stared at his hooves as he walked and sighed. He really felt out of place in this town but he hoped that he could better adjust maybe then things would be simpler for him. "Well if that's what it'll take for me to better adjust then I will do it." He concluded with a nod and began to walk with a bit more spring in his step, maybe this will fun for him in the end.

Tael groaned as he flew out of Link's hat "I never felt so tired from listening to someone talk." Tael said resting atop Link's head. He sighed and looked down at Link. Maybe it would be best if Link learned more about this world, in his current condition he was by no means ready to go out into their world. They had to learn all they could then they could find a way home that would be a lot more easier then walking around without any sense of direction or reason.

Link continued walking through the halls of the castle, he had recognized some bits of the hall that led him to his room but even still he was a bit lost. As he made a turn he had run into somepony else, causing him to hit his head against something hard cold and made of some type of metal. Rubbing his face Link looked up to see who he had bumped into. In front of him was a guard, one that he had recognized from the day before. Tatl seeing that he wasn't noticed yet quickly hid underneath Link's cap to hide

"Hey you okay, didn't see ya there." Steel said as he looked at Link "Hmm no noticeable damage, and nothing dizzy right?" He asked the young colt just to make sure he was alright. Link nodded to confirm that he was fine, it didn't really hurt him that much after all. "That's good wouldn't want to hurt a small colt like ya." He said as he stood up straight. taking time to take in Link's appearance a question popped into his head. "Hey aren't you that new colt everypony has been talking about lately? You know the one that appeared out of nowhere." He asked

Link nods in confirmation at what the guard said. 'Am I really that big of a deal just because I came out of nowhere?' He questioned to himself before bringing his attention back to Steel.

"Well glad to meet the colt everyone has been talking about. I'm Steel Blade nice to meet ya." He said with a small grin.

Link gave a smile "I'm Link, and it's nice to meet you too Steel."

"So Link I'm sorry but I have to ask. Are any rumors true, did you come from a portal or did you suddenly end up in the Everfree forest through unknown means?" He asked the small colt who gave him a confused look

"I don't know but give me some time to ask someone and I'll get right on answering that." He said. Steel nodded in response and understanding and decided to ease off on interrogating the colt. He didn't want to make him uncomfortable "So Steel you're one of the guards here right."

"That I am my little friend. Steel Blade of the royal guard previously serving under Princess Celestia and currently serving under Princess Twilight. A fitting name to a fitting occupation don't you think." He said with a hint of pride in his tone. Link smiled at the guard's enthusiasm

"So Steel what's it like being part of the royal guard?" Link asked feeling a bit more curious about the job. "I heard some things from Storm Guard but not much."

"Well there's not much I can really tell. If Storm already spoke to you about the job there isn't really much I could say. Although I guess I could give my version about it. Let's walk while I tell you about it." Steel began walking again with Link following by his side. "Royal guards pretty much are what you expect them to be. Guards that are there to guard the princesses of Equestria. Sure a princess may not need a guard since they can very clearly handle themselves with the vast amount of powerful magic they have but we still try our best to protect those that watch over their subjects." He smiled "While I did join to protect them from threats, I also feel like I can make a name for myself through doing this. I always read those stories about great Royal guards fighting amazing battles to protect Equestria and the Princesses they believe in. I grew up hoping one day I could be like them, have my name in stories so I could new ponies could aspire to be a great royal guardsmen." He said giving a happy sigh as he got a faraway look in his eyes. Link stayed quiet and allowed him to dream, he was really liking the conversation they were having.

"Do you really think you can do it, become a famous guard?" Link asked having high hopes for him to do so.

"Yeah I do actually, sure the other guards may think I'm a loser or dreamer or some crazy pony but I've been working hard." He smiled and gestured to his side showcasing a sword strapped to the side of his armor. "I've actually been having some practice with this and I do mean real practice. I want to be ready to fight back against the next threat Equestria comes under. I want to fight for those ponies that I want and need to protect no matter how dangerous. I shall protect my home and serve till the very end as they say in those books." Steel said with a smile. "Sure that chimera did a number on me but I'll be fine, things will work out for me in the end and I hope they do for you too." He said looking at Link with a small smile "New place you don't know where you really are or why you're here but just know this. I hear Ponyville is one of the best places to make friends so if ya feel alone go make a friend with somepony. Also if you ever feel bored, drop by when I do my sword practice, it's always good to have some support." Steel said with a smile on his face as he ruffled the colt's hair "I'll see you around Link, hope you can adjust well to life here in Ponyville, trust me you'll get real used to it soon enough." With that Steel went on his own way leaving Link behind

As Link watched him leave he smiled and started to feel better about the situation he was in. Things wouldn't be so bad and there was a much brighter side of things. He just had to make the best of it and he was going to. With a small spring in his step and a bigger smile on his face he walked back to his room ready to tackle the next day.
