What would you do if you would fall out of your world right into another? Panic? Going on a rampage?Probably. It seems legit doesn´t it? Well, what I did was a little bit different.
"I was normal once. Yes! I was, don´t give me that look. Its just that the...circumstances changed, so I had to change as well."
A normal, well not so normal, but still at least a little bit normal, boy named Kyle was about to go on a costume party and on the way he ran into a certain merchant who just happens to have the last little thing that completed his Cosplay. What that merchant forgot to say though was that he would be sucked into another dimension full of cheerfull magical ponies as soon as he´d touched it. A common story right? Well, this story is a little bit different.
Pain. The first thing I felt that day was pain. But that was good, that meant I was still alive, well, at least so much I could feel pain. The second thing I felt though was wetness , my leg was wet. I certainly didn't like that feeling, so I tried to move away from the source of the wetness. That proved to be quite difficult, because there was still the pain in every single inch of my body. So I had to remain lying there, until the pain faded away and I could remove my face from the dirt it was resting in before.
I moved my upper body-half a little in the air and looked around me. I was in a forest. After acknowledging that fact, I went back to my original intent and crawled a little bit away from the place where my legs were lying. As I turned my head to that specific area I saw finally where the wetness came from. It was a lake, or at least I fought it was one, it could have been the ocean, but I just fell down pretty deep and was still quite shaken.
So, the next thing I did was trying to stand up. It was pretty easy to be honest. Though a little bit shaky, I stood. Then I walked a little bit to see if I still could. To my surprise had I apperently not broken my legs and could walk very good for a person that had just fallen out of the sky. But wait, maybe my face was damaged. Quickly I got to the edge of the lake and looked in the water. Now that I think about it, looked isn't quite the right word. I mean I did "looked" in the lake, just as much as I am "looking" now at everything, but it's hard to explain. Let's just say I was really really surprised when I encountered that my eyes were closed, I seem to be somehow able to look through my closed eyelids.
Yes I know, sounds crazy right? Well it was, cause I could and can see just as good as every other being with functional eyes. However, as soon as I was finished trying to undertsand and comprehend it, the fact that I couldn't seem to open my eyes didn't helped very much, I "looked" in the lake again and noticested some other features wich I did not feel noticed before. I wore a somewhat creepy smile. And the fact that I hadn't just felt it before was, that it seem to be my normal, no, not even that, it was almost my only facial expression I seemed to be capable of.
I was again so close before panicking, which others, if they had watched, wouldn't have been able to conclude based on my face, but I saved myself the trouble of loosing my mind, by noticing that I still could indeed show emotions, but they all came along together with the smile, which, I had to admit, looked pretty cool and damn cold, just the way I liked it.
The next thing my obviously new body had to surprise me with was my hair. I had another haircut and my hair were now grey-silver coloured, again, something I didn't think of as a particulary bad thing, it played along with the rest of my face pretty nicely. Though I couldn't help it, in total my face looked kinda reminded me on that of a snake.
That was when they hit me. The memories. Somehow that had triggered it. I could remember it. I was about to go on the costume party of a friend of mine, Jeremy, that was his name, I was dressed as...Gin Ichimaru from the anime bleach I liked so much, the only thing that were missing, was an accurate sword, I just wasn´t able to find one with the right size. And then, on the way to the party I ran into him. That merchant guy, I spottet the sword amidiatly, it was perfekt, the perfekt size, shape and it was even made of steel and he saw that I basiacly drooled at the sight. He asked me approvingly if I wanted to have it, he would make a good deal. And hell, he made one. If he wouldn't have made the price himself, I would've actually felt bad. But liked that, I finally had my Shinsou and I was happy.That was until I was sucked into that dark Void place and then spit out here, a miracle that I survived that fall.
I would kick that merchant asshat in the face, that was what I swore myself right there, at the edge of the lake.
After the little flashback episode I rose up and examine my clothes. I was still wearing my costume, though it seemed now it where not made out cheap marerials but from rather good made, thick silk and cotton. My Zanpakuto was tagged to my left side, it felt good there, kinda...natural.
It really seems that I somehow transformed into Gin Ichimaru from Bleach. I couldn't help but squee in joy about that, until I remembered that that wasn't a thing Gin would do, so I forcefully calmed myself down and began to think. I am stranded in a strange world I knew nothing about, torn away from my family and friends, with no hope of returning so far. That was the downside. The upside was that I transformed into Gin Ichimaru! And if I had gained all of his powers too, nothing in this world could ever dream of harming me. But I first had to find out if and how, so I drew my Sword and pointed at at a nearby tree. "Shoot to kill, Shinsou." The Blade expandet emediatly and impaled the tree. I almost jumped in glee and then tried to pull the sword out of the tree or rather make the sword to retract. That I could not do. So I pulled and concentrated at and on the sword like an idiot and sat down in front of it after an hour or so.
"Well shit."
And I sat there for the next ten minutes, thinking about ways I could retreat my sword from that darn tree. But than I just gave up and graped the sword again in order to at least pull it out of that tree. The sword retreatet to it's original form as soon as I touched it. I looked in disbelief until I put it back in its sheave and decided to investigate the forest a little bit. It couldn't hurt right? So I walked right into the bushes. Which turned out to be a mistake, as I found absolutely nothing for the next two hours, or at least I think it were two hours, it could have been ten minutes or something like that. And then, finally, I came out of that cursed forest and the first thing I saw was a...ponie. A colorfull, cute little ponie with a picture on it's flank. And it had gigantic eyes. I looked at it in shock, and it stared back, with the same expression on it's face. Of course, my expression were a mix of shoked looking eyebrows and a big creepy smile. So I think I may have frighten it a little bit more than it me.
It let out a very feminish scream, turned and ran off, to what it seems was a little village. I was stunned to say the least. I was still trying to process what I had just encounterd. An almost cartoonish looking little ponie, that could scream like a woman in an old horror movie?
And there I thought this day couldn't get any crazier.
I followed the mare, I assumed that that was her gender after the feminin scream, until I arrived in the little town. One hand on my Znapakuto I walked trough the village, I know little ponies probably won't pose any threat to me but, better to much paranoid then less. I succeded in ignoring all the screaming mares and stallions around me, which began screaming and running as soon as they got sight of me, and walked straight forward, I just smiled, this time intendedly creepy, in every direction, they were just so annoying, I couldn't hold back. But then someone shouted at me."Hey you!" In front of me stood an lavenender coloured ponie, with a purple mane, with one pink streak in it, a horn on her forhead, wings and six stars on her flank, unlike the other ponie which had three carrots on hers, with the one in the middle being by far the biggest. Wait a second, a horn and wings? On my way through town I had saw quite some different ponies already, some with wings, pegasi, some with horns, unicorns, and some normal ones, boring. So how should I name her? Unasus? pegahorn? Meh, I'll figure something out later.
I just raised an eyebrow on her and continued to silently smile. While I was at it, I succesfully surpresed the fact that she probably were the one that had shouted at me. Than she opened her mouth."Who are you? And why are you frightening the citizens?" To the outside, I kept my cool, smiled and layed my head a little bit to the side. On the inside however, I basically freaked out. A talking ponie? A TALKING PONIE? I was okay with being thrown into another World, I was okay with being transormed into my favourite anime charakter, I was even okay with a little ponie who could scream like a women, but a talking ponie? No thanks. But I had to respond, so I said the first thing that came to my mind. "Could you tell me your name first?"
She seemed to be a little bit releaved at the sight of me speaking and let the angry face drop a little. "My name is Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship and Ponyville, what's your name?" I paused for a second, what name should I give myself? But then I fought, when I'm going to play this role, than I'm going to play it to the end.
So there I stood, in front of me a pony with wings and a horn, named Twilight Sparkle, which is a ridiculous name by the way, lying about me being Gin Ichimaru, while being in his body. To say the situatuion was wierd was an understatement. Apperently to Twilight though, it was not. Or at least not nearly as wierd as it was to me."So Gin, what are you doing here and why are you scaring my fellow ponies?" I really didn't had an answer to those questions. Well ok, I was scaring the ponies because they were annoying and it was a little bit funny. But I couldn't tell her that. And for the first question I didn't knew it myself. What was I doing here? I said the first thing that came to my mind."I'm on vacation, and I don't know why the ponies are scared of me, I just walked through town and they started screaming and running."
From judging by her face alone, even though she was kind of a pony, I could tell she didn't buy it. Great, now I looked even more suspicious. I mean, if one could look even more suspicious than Gin-suspicious with this face. Before she could tell me to spit out the truth I asked her a question that poked me in the back of my head since she stood before me."What exactly are you?" That seemed to stop her in her tracks, as she took obvious offence in my question." I mean, the other ponies here I can recognize, pegasi, unicorns and, well ponies. But you have wings as well as a horn, so what are you?" I actually wanted to ask quite some other questions too.
For example: Where the hell am I? What happened to me? Where are all the humans? Why can you talk, etc, etc. But something told me I should be more considerate on that one. She looked at me as if I were an alien. Which I kind of was, but that's beside the point."You must be from the other side of Equis to not know what I am." Equis? Was that the planets name? Seriously? Okay that was just stupid, it's like we had named our planet Homoria instead of Earth, but again, besides the point." I am an alicorn, we're known for incredibly strong magic, ageless bodies and our few numbers." It was fascinating how she could speak of herself as of an endangered species. But wait a second, ageless bodies? I looked in utter disbelief at the creature before me, if that was true, how old was that pony then? I know it's not accurate to call a lady, especially a royal one, old but, I just couldn't help myself.
"So you're actually hundreds of years old?" She reacted just like I expected a woman to do, when asked a question like this." No! I just recently got became an alicorn!" That confused me, so a unicorn or a pegasus could just be turned into an alicorn? Then why weren't there only alicorns? But before I could asked any other question, she lifted one hoof to silence me."I think it would be best if we continue this conversation in the privacy of my castle, so the ponies here can come out of their houses."
How naive, what if I were a spy or a assasin?
I heard that thought in the back of my head and asked myself where that did come from. Usually I don't think of stuff like that. But I quickly shrugged it off as me being a little paranoid after being thrown into another world. So I just nodded at Twilights proposal and her horn lit up. I could only lift an eyebrow before we both were engulfed in light and than we stood before an crystal made treehouse-castle. At this ridiculous I had a really hard time not to laugh my lungs out, for the second time today I thought my constant smile to be a good thing. Twilight lost no time and oppened the ridiculous big golden doors with her magic and I stepped in. We then proceeded to walk up some stairs and then in the end went inside something I could only descripe as a thron room, except that there were six chairs. As she closed the doors of the thrown room, I could almost feel the change in her additude. It seemed that, out there, she kept the facade of the concerned ruler as good as she could, probalby because she wanted to give her subjects a feeling of protection and safety, but in here, where we were all alone, she exploded with questions." Why are your eyelids closed all the time? Can you see through them? Why do you smile constantly? You're a human right? "
"Yes, it's natural, because I'm a happy man and yes, wait, there are other humans on Equis?" I felt really dumb using this word. She however, shook her head."No thats why I really like to know how you got here, the only humans I ever met, were on the other side of a portal, but you seem to be quite different from them." A portal that let to another world, with humans but who where different from me? I was more confused than ever before in my life.
And then a little purple dragon with green spikes came into the room. He looked at me and I, of course, smiled my creepy smile, and he, just as Twilight, didn't screamed or shrieked, he didn't even run away. No, he looked at me with a surprised look on his face I assumed I would've made in that moment if I could stop smiling and open my eyes."A human? How can a human be here? Twilight?" He turned to the alicorn and looked at her with an curiosity that almost leveld Twilights."I'm trying to figure this out myself rigtht now Spike." Than she looked at me. Even though the only evidence for my surprise were my eyebrows and my slightly altered smile, she figuered out what was going on in my head and which questions I wanted to ask."Gin, I want to introduce you to my number one assistant Spike." She made a waving gesture with her hoof in the direction of Spike, who seemed to be very proud of the fact that he had this position.
"Nice to meet you Spike, but Miss Sparkle, about that portal thing, what makes the humans there so different from me?" She remembered what we were talking about and looked at me with a little sparkle in her eye, I didn't know why, but that sparkle had something creepy to it."I don't know, you just don't, how do I say this, feel like them. As if you are what they are but something different at the same time. I would love to examine you." Now I recognized that spark. It was scientific curiosity. I backed of just a step."No thanks, I'm good." I somehow felt a little bit reminded of a certain scarred doctor, and I didn't want to fall into the ha-hoofs of such an individual. She looked disapointed. "Ok, but could you at least tell us how you got here?" Spike nodded in agreement and both looked at me. I sighed."I actually don't quite know how I got here, I just touched something I wasn't supposed to and than I got sucked into a black hole in the ground. And before you ask, no I don't remember what that thing was, the memories are somewhat a little bit blurred."
Yes, I lied to them, and? I never said that I trusted them, just because she was a cute little alicorn and he a cute little dragon. And I was quite certain that, once I revealed that it was my Zanpakuto that brought me here, she would take it from me and do some magic-scientifical research on it. And I didn't want to give Shinsou away. Never! So I lied to them. Back in my own body, I never were a good lier, my face betrayed me almost every time I tried. So, the smile and the closed eyes were, again a good thing. My smile remained and grew even a little bit wider, which seem to irritate Twilight, but she didn't bring it up. Instead she frowned."Thats unfortunate, I know some portal spells that can be placed on items but..." She paused and thought about something for a moment."Does magic exist in your world?" I chuckled. "No, some may think so and some may hope so, but it doesn't."
She shook her head."Then I don't know how you end up here. Except for...no, he wouldn't do that." My ears pricked up."Who wouldn't do what?" She waved a hoof at me."Oh, don't worry about that, it was just a stupid little thought. And I think if you're planning on staying here much longer, I think you will meet him soon enough, and I can guess that he would like to introduce himself to you first." I shook my head, with every word that were spoken, everything just got more confusing. But I must say, without any boasting here, I think I took this whole situation quite well. But that could have been due to the fact that, at least I supposed so at the moment, my mind was altered in a way to imitate Gin's mind just as my body were. So,I remain calm.
"I don't really have any place to go at the moment." I said, to answer her silent question if I planned on staying here any longer. She nodded."If thats the case would you...would you like to sleep here in my castle for a night or two?" I was stunned, did I not expect such an offer. I mean she was a royal, obviously, and back in my world these tended to be not so generous."Thank you very much for your offer Miss Sparkle, I would love to spend some nights inside these halls." Yeah, yeah, I know what you're thinking, I spoke quite like an old man right? Well I can't explain it myself, it just felt accurate and it possible was. But Twilight quickly pointed out that it wasn't.
"You called me 'Miss Sparkle' twice by now, there is no need for that, Twilight is enough and there is no need to talk like an noble too. I might be a princess but I just can't stand it when ponies talk to me like that." I thought about that, it was true, since we were in her castle, she completely shrugged the princess behavior of and acted like any scientist would. I nodded. "Thank you Twilight."
"No need to thank me, I am the Princess of Friendship after all so it's kind of my duty to help others." She looked at a clock that was hanging on one of the walls."Oh, so late already? Come Gin, I'll show you your room, it should be getting dark soon and I bet you want some sleep." Dark? I looked out of one of the window, the Sun were still standing were she when I came out of the forest. Which was pretty odd given the time that passed between than and now, but I paid only little attention to that."What do you mean by that? The Sun didn't even moved a lit-..."
And than it happenend. The sun suddenly decided that it was night now and basically jumped behind the horizen and at the same moment, the moon swung into view and took the place of sun. My jaw dropped. And that was quite something, keep in mind I was still smiling. It must have been quite the hilarious image, judging by the laughter I heard from Spike. I heard Twilight hissing to him, something about that it wasn't nice to laugh about someone, but I paid almost no attantion to that. The flippin Sun just moved. And not only just moved, but moved really really fast and the Moon too. After one or two minutes, I were finally able to say something."How the...what...I...did that really just...?" Twilight looked over to me.
"Sorry, I should have told you that, don't worry though, this is absolutely normal here, I'm going to tell you everything about it tomorrow okay?" I nodded and buried all the burning questions for now."Come with me, I'm going to show you your room now." I nodded again and followed her to a guestroom. It was quite luxorious, but what did I expect in a castle like this?
"Good night Gin, I hope you sleep well." With those words she closed the door and I fell on my bed. I didn't noticed it until now, but I were quite exhausted, not physically, this was Gin Ichimarus body after all, but mentally, all those informations, the confusion about most of them and now, the thing with the Sun and the Moon. I just wanted to sleep and wake up with new energy, so I made myself comfortable, until I noticed something.
How were I supposed to sleep when I could see through my eyelids?
In the end, I found a solution for the problem, but it was an embarrassing one and I don't wanna tell you what it was. Anyway, I finally went to sleep, and I think I slept for quite a while, until I had an really disturbing dream. I saw myself laying in the bed, or rather I saw Gin's body laying in the bed, when Twilight and Spike came in, smiling wickedly both wielding weapons, a knife and a gun, don't ask me how she got a gun, it was just a dream after all, stalking to my bed. Spike ended up standing at the right of me and Twilight on the left. She lifted the knife with her magic up and Spike hold the gun at my head and looked just ready to fire, as I stated before I was a little bit paranoid. But before one of them could make use of their weapons, or before I could try anything to stop them, they just disappeared. Faded away into thin air. I just stared at the points where they used to be and then I heard a voice behing me.
"You have quite the trust issues human." I almost jumped out of my skin and turned around, just to see another alicorn like Twilight standing before me, with a concerned look on her face. She had a dark blue colored fur, and a slightly brighter, glittery mane and horse tail, which waved like it was windy and I think it should represent the night sky or something like that. Her flank, where ink black, with the picture of a crescent on it. I didn't say anything, because I just thought she were another interpretation of Twilight from my subconcious. I mean, where should another alicorn come from so suddenly, in my dreams nonetheless, how I had just realized back then. But then I decided to play along with the game.
"And who are you?"
"We are known as Luna, Princess of the Moon and co-ruler of this land. We are responsible for our subjects dreams and, since you're here now, you're one of them too."
I don't know why, but something about this were fishy, and it was not the fact that she spoke from herself as 'We', but that didn't help either."But, aren't you any surprised at all? Twilight told me there are no humans on Equis."
She nodded."That's right, but I have seen so much in my life, that as I sensed your dream, I was surprised yes, but not that much, stranger thinks have happened here lately."
And then knew what had been odd about her."Wait wait wait, you said you were the Princess of the Moon, what does that mean?"
She looked at me surprised."Twilight didn't told you?"
"She said she would tell me tomorrow."
"Well, we are wielding the Moon, as our sister Celestia is wielding the Sun, we bring the night to the ponies of Equestria and she brings the Day."
I took a step back. That couldn't be real. This creature before we controlled the Moon? And her sister the Sun? Until that point I still believed, hoped, that she was just an imagination, a creation of my own brain. But that, something as insane as that, I could have never thought of. Granted, the sudden and extreme movement of the too celestiel bodies, was pretty insane and nonsensical too, but I...I actually didn't knew what I was expecting as an explanation from Twilight. But I am sure would have been nothing like that. She could probably erase me with that kind of power. After that thought crossed my mind, I drew my Zanpakuto and pointed it at her.
"What do you really want from me?"
She must have noticed the panic I were trying to supprese, because she gave me a soft smile, which were probably meant to calm me down.
"Do not fear us, for we wish not to harm you, we were only concerned about your wellbeing, after discovering that the nightmare you had were a really bad one."She looked at me, her expression back to concern."Do you fear Twilight and Spike really that much? We can assure you that she is one of the most trustworthy ponys you could've met."
I think she really ment what she said, but still, I didn't trust her, I didn't trusted anyone here, and I told her just that.
"Yes, I fear her, I fear her dragon and I fear you! I just came here, recently, not by my own free will but rather by some kind of force, now I have a new body I'm not used to, I don't know how I could ever come back and here, in this World nothing is like back in my world." I were still smiling, even in my dreams I had no choice, but I were sure my eyebrows looked just as furrius as I hopped."Magic, pegasi, immortal alicorns who wield the Moon and Sun and can enter dreams, dragons and giant crystal castle-tree things! I think I'm going to either become insane or just die from an brain aneurysm!"
Now she looked at me with great concern and seem to realize something just yet, probably that it had been a bad idea to enter my dreams and overwhelming me with such great information. The whole time I had swung Shinsou in all directions, as I gestured to my words, now I pointed it at her again, my voice went calm again and my smile looked a little bit more disturbing than usuall.
"So, I suggest you take your leave now, I bet there are other subjects of yours with terrible nightmares."
My words were polite, but she understood the hidden threat, even though I didn't think I could harm her, I still wanted her to leave and threats were the only thing I had to make her. She nodded slowly.
"Yes, we will leave, but we will meet later in the real world, please believe us, we were only concerned about your wellbeing."
With that she disapeared and I were finally alone again.
When I finally awoke, I immedeatly got out of the bed and looked around me. No one was there."What was I thinking?" I tried to calm myself, as I got in the bathroom and looked in a mirror, just to look at my new face again, maybe this was all nothing but a big dream after all. The same smile, the same closed eyes, the same snakelike face. I smashed the mirror with my bear fist. I didn't want to look like this! Don't get me wrong, I think Gin was still the best character I could have become. I just didn't want to be in this situation. Succesfully suppressing the pain in my hand and ignoring the blood dripping from my fingers, I walked out of the bathroom and towards the door, I needed to talk to Twilight again, I just had to know more about the world I was now living in, even if it would blow my mind. But when I opened the door, instead of an empty halllway, I found a pink pony with a canon, which were pointing right at me, the trigger right in the ponys hoof.
My Body moved faster than I could think at the moment. With one, fluid motion, which I would have never tought I could pull off, I drew Shinsou and cut the thing in half. The two canon pieces fell to the ground and I pointed my sword right at the pink mares face.
"I think the next time you're trying to assasinate someone, you should be more stealthy. And bring a smaller weapon."
I think at that point I impersonated Gin quite well, I smilled a little bit wilder, as I lifted my weapon up above my head to kill this pony. She could only stare at me, in what I assumed was shock and fear. Probably because I was able to foil her plan this quick.
However, just at the moment I wanted to bring my sword down, I were stopped. My whole body where engulfed in an purple aura and I couldn't even move a little bit anymore. My eyes however, could still move under my eyelids. So I looked around for a certain lavender alicorn and there she was, at the end of the hallway, staring at me in confusion and disbelief.
"W-what are you doing, Gin?!"
As it seemed I could still speak."What are you doing? That pink thing just wanted to kill me. I'm only returning the favor."
The mare, who didn't said anything until then, looked at the canon, which I only now realized hadn't loaded a canonball, but confetti which really confused me, looked at the broken canon and finally spoke.
"You broke my party-canon!"
Confusion seemed to be the only state I were allowed to be in in this world."What?"
Twilight came down the hallway."Pinkie would never hurt anyone, that was her party-canon you just sliced up"
That didn't helped me at all. Twilight walked over to Pinkie, while I were released of the magic.
"Don't worry Pinkie, we will get you a new one."
But suddenly she just smiled widly, not like me, it was a joyfull, honest smile.
"Good that I brought an extra one!"
And then, out of nowhere, she just pulled a second one of these 'Party-canons'. Believe me, I saw it with my own closed eyes! She pulled the trigger and a bunch of confetti came out of the opening.
It engulfed both Twilight and me. While Twilight just snickered and began to shrug the confetti off, I just stood there.
