"Sugar Sweets! Are you finished packing yet? We are going in half an hour!"

"Almost, mom!"

Sugar Sweets was the spitting image of her mother, Pinkie Pie. With a pale pink coat and a poofy pink mane, she was your ideal daughter. She was always ready to help her friends, at no cost. One day, she would take her mothers place as the elemant of laughter, and anypony could see that. Her PFF's were Pixel, Aria and Gemstone Shimmer, and she was never seen without her Cutie-mark Crusader cape. It was a simple cape, red with gold lining and the Cutie-mark Crusader emblem, but it was stitched with love.

Sugar Sweets lived with her mom and dad in Sugarcube Corner with Mr and Mrs Cake, and their two foals, Pumpkin Cake and Pound Cake. On the weekend, Sugar Sweets would help her mom in the kitchen of the store, and with Pinkie close by, Sugar was slowly becoming an excellent baker.

Sugar Sweets was a very intelligent filly, even with her disability. On her last report card from Miss Cherilee, she had gotten straight A's from English to Maths. Sugar Sweets simply love going to school, although, there were some problems. First, and the biggest problem, were Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoons daughters. Ugh. Sugar Sweets barley said their name. Next, was sigh. Him. Sugar Sweets had a little school pony crush on the most dreamy, handsome, kind gentle colt in the world. Whenever Sugar saw him, she would turn beetroot red, and just stare at him. It was so embarrassing, especially when her friends teased her about it.

Now, Sugar Sweets had a secret, which nopony but her knew. It was a terrible, wicked secret, but Sugar Sweets could not fight it. She preferred the night to the day. This is why Sugar Sweets was so interested in astronomy, and she often went to see Princess Twilight Sparkle, for lessons, all about the different stars. Twilight was very skilled at astronomy. In two weeks, there was going to be a once in a life time meteor shower. Sugar Sweets could not wait.

Today, Sugar Sweets and her family were traveling to Canterlot, for Orion's birthday. Orion was the son of Princess Twilight Sparkle and her husband, Flash Century. The party was being held in the castle, and her father, Cheese Sandwich, had gone on the earlier train to make some last minute adjustments.

Finally, her saddlebags were packed, and it was time to go. She trotted down the stairs, to see her mom and her brother using a checklist. She smiled at this. Never, in her whole entire life(which actually wasn't that long)had she ever seen her mom use a checklist. Sugar Sweets thought that it was only Aunt Twilight who used checklists. Hmm. Guess she was wrong.

"Cupcakes?"

"Check."

"Balloons?"

"Check."

"Party Cannons?"

"Check."

"Well, that's it. We have everything we need, now we can go to the train station. I can't wait to see dad again. I mean, I know we only saw him yesterday, but, its been a long time since yesterday, and, in a long time, you can forget somepony's name, so what if dad doesn't remember our names? What if he doesn't remember who we are? What i-"

"Cheese Whiz! Get a hold of yourself!"

Pinkie herself had done this plenty if times, so she knew exactly how to stop it.

"Of course dad will remember you. You're his Whiz. Anyway, we really need to go now. We're late enough as it is."

Cheese Whiz let out a muffled,"OK" as his mothers hoof was still in his mouth. She slowly eased it out. The three ponies made their way to the train station, where they met Rarity, Trenderhoof, and the kids.

"Hey Gemstone Shimmer! How ya doing!"

"Oh, fine thank you, Sugar. You?"

"Just fine. I can't wait for the party! Especially since mom and dad planned it!"

"I'll take your word for it!"

"So," began Rarity, "How are you doing, Pinkie? The kids haven't been to much trouble?"

"Oh, I'm just fine and dandy, Rare Bear. The kids are my little angels. How 'bout you and Trend?"

"All aboard for Canterlot!"

A shrill voice echoed the message to the ponies. They looked at each other.

"Well, I guess its time time for our departure. Let's go! I can't wait to see Twilight and Cheese again!"

As usual, Pinkie and Whiz bounced onto the train, while the others followed.

Sugar Sweets didn't have a care in the world. She was with her friends, her family... what could go wrong? Everything was just fine and dandy, like her mother had said. Little did she know, that everything, was about to go horribly, horribly wrong.

"Oohhhh!! We're getting close now!"

"I can't wait to see Canterlot again. Its been simply ages since we've been, hasn't it Trend? Things at the shop have been hectic, and I've made enough dresses for the whole of Canterlot!"

"I can't wait, can you, Whiz?"

"Nope! I'm just so excited to see dad again!"

"Oh, by the way everypony. After the party, me and Cheese have something very special to tell you."

"Ooh! What is it? Are we moving house? Are you having another foal? Oh, are you and dad getting a divorce?! Oh wait, that wouldn't be very special. Are you getting a divorce mom? Please say your not getting a divorce!"

Rarity rolled her eyes at this. Cheese Whiz was getting a bit over excited now.

"Of course me and dad aren't getting a divorce, Whiz. Me and Cheese both love each other very much."

Sugar Sweets looked at Gemstone Shimmer, and Gemstone Shimmer looked at Sugar Sweets.

"EEWWWW!!!"

Chapter One: The Party

"Wow Sugar Sweets! Your parents have really out done themselves! Best party ever!"

"Thanks Gem! Your right, I wish that today will never end!"

"If only it could. Oh, this is my favorite song! Let's dance!"

As Marelor Swifts new single was played, Sugar Sweets and Gemstone Shimmer hit the dancefloor. There were flashing lights, and most of the other ponies were on the dancefloor, but none were dancing quite like Sugar Sweets and Gemstone Shimmer. By the time the final note ended, both of the fillies were exhausted.

"I'm gonna go get some punch, coming?"

"Of course! All this dancing has made me super thirsty! Then I'm gonna see Orion, you know, and give him his present."

"You haven't already?"

"No, at first I couldn't get to him, then I couldn't find him. C'mon, let's go!"

With that, the two friends trotted off in search for the punch table. Else where in the hall, Pinkie was giving Cheese an almighty squeeze.

"I missed you so mu-u-uch! Please say you haven't forgotten me! I mean, I know its really easy to forget somepony, but-"

"Pinkie, you know I wouldn't forget you. In fairness, who could? You aren't exactly an easy pony to forget."

"I knew you wouldn't!"

Cheese smiled fondly at his wife. Her eccentric personality and overall happiness was what most ponies would find quite irritating, but Cheese Sandwich loved it. He also was very, very proud of his two amazing foals, Cheese Whiz who looked like his father in all but size , and his little Sugar Sweets, who, even though she was partly disabled, was the apple of his eye.

Meanwhile, in the outskirts of Canterlot, a dark shadow passed through the streets in the direction of the castle. It had a goal, a mission, and it was not going to fail. As the shadow slowly edged to the castle, everypony who was before sleeping peacefully, were now tossing and turning, faces a look of pure fear. Through a normal pony's eyes, it wouldn't be seen, but, if somepony were special, as an alicorn, or an element of harmany, then that was an entirely different matter.

Suddenly, Pinkie felt something, so did Cheese. The kids were passing by, and they called them over, their faces a bit more than worried.

"Kids, did you feel that?"

"I did mom. It was pinchy knee. What was that again?"

"Something scary, Whiz. I also feel a doozy coming on."

"Mom, I'm scared. What's going to happen?"

"Oh, I'm sure its nothing Sugar. A doozy can sometimes be good, right Cheese?"

"Sorry Pinks, but all the doozy's I've encountered have always been quite dire circumstances. Tonight, let's all stick together. Right kids?"

"OK dad."

"O-ok."

"Oh, don't be scared sweetie pie. If we all stay together, the big old doozy don't come."

"Really?

" Really. "

Even with her reassuring words, Sugar Sweets was still a bit scared. She looked outside fearfully, and spied a pony outside. Now, just a regular pony would be unusual, but this pony wasn't a pony. It was a batpony!

"Umm, mom, I'm gonna go get some air. I'll be back in a few minutes OK?"

"OK sweetie. Please be very careful though, OK?"

"OK mom."

Sugar Sweets, being the curious pony she was, simply had to check out the batpony. She went outside, and the cool air hit her. She hasn't really noticed how hot it was in the hall. Suddenly, the batpony saw her, and took to the skies.

"No, wait! Please! I won't hurt you! Come back!"

Sugar Sweets decided to run after it. There were no clouds in the night sky, and the moon was nice and bright. She made a mental note to thank Luna later. "Wait!"

Sugar Sweets positively galloped in hot pursuit of the pony, making sure that she never let it out of her sight, not even for a second. Suddenly, Sugar Sweets found herself out of the castle grounds, and in a dark alleyway. There was no trace of the batpony.

"Hello? Anypony there?"

She heard rustling in the bushes, and a shadow passed over her.

Then, Sugar Sweets felt a twitching in her tail.

"Twitchy tail? Oh, what was twitchy tail again?"

She wished mom was here, or dad, or even Whiz so they could tell her what twitchy tail was. She wished they were here anyway.

A loud 'thump' came from behind her. Hesitantly, she turned around.

A giant batpony stood behind her. Its fur was black as night, its wings open side, a menacing smile on its face. It had some sort of armour on it, and was now edging towards her. Sugar Sweets crept back, until she could not go any further, because her back was pressed up to a wall.

'I guess twitchy tail means that something is going to fall.' Sugar Sweets thought.

A piercing scream then came out of Sugar's mouth.

Back in the castle, the party was wrapping up.

"OK everypony, I hope you have enjoyed tonight. Before we wrap up, I would like to thank Rainbow Dash and Soarin for their spectacular air show, and it warms my heart to know that my son has such good friends. Now, before we go, we have a special announcement from Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich."

A cheer rippled through the crowd as said ponies stepped onto the stage.

"Are you ready Pinkie?"

"As ready as I'll ever be."

"Would you like to do do the honors?"

"No, I think we should go it together."

"One..."

"...Two..."

"...Three..."

"We're having another foal."

Just then, a piercing scream flooded the castle.
