Shining Armor and Princess Cadence's daughter is sent into hiding after Queen Chrysalis vows to get revenge.
Cadence and Shining Armor have a beautiful little Filly named Sketch. But after Queen Chrysalis hears about it she wants her revenge, so for the safety of Sketch, they send her to Ponyville to live with her aunt Twilight and the other elements of harmony. But, she is disguised as a Pegasus, who always wears a big hat that covers her horn. Her name was also changed to Paint.
Shining Armor walked into the nursery in the castle. He walked around, making sure that no pony had been in there since the last guard left the nursery.
When he thought everything looked fine he went to the crib and smiled at the little filly in it. His beautiful daughter, Sketch was sleeping. He picked up her sleeping form and sat in a chair, while rocking her gently. He looked at her mane, it was wavy and was pink and dark blue. Her coat was a creme color.
Suddenly the baby filly's eyes opened, her eyes were a color that combined blue and purple, and she smiled at her father. Shining's heart melted as he saw his daughter's smile, she was so adorable and tiny.
And helpless.
He put the baby back in the crib and started pacing the room checking every nook and corner. Suddenly he heard a terrible laugh from a mare. He ran back to the crib and grabbed Sketch.
As he ran out of the nursery, he looked at his daughter with tears in his eyes. He was already losing her. He already had to send her away.
"I love you, okay Sketch. You'll always be my little girl."
He ran into Cadence's room and he looked at her, while nodding. Her face dropped and they put her in the basket they were using to transport her. They both started to cast a spell as the changelings were trying to get in. When the changelings came in, the child was gone.
"Where is your little brat?!" Chrysalis yelled.
"You'll never find her. She is nowhere near here." Shining Armor looked at the queen.
"Oh yes I will, and when I do, she won't escape my wrath!" The changelings left.
Luckily Sketch was sent to a relative and would be sent a letter through her assistant.
Twilight was with her friends in the throne room of their castle, when suddenly a basket was teleported in front of Fluttershy.
"Oh my, what's this?" Fluttershy said in her calm voice.
She bent down and opened the basket to see a foal.
"She's adorable!" Fluttershy picked her up.
Suddenly Spike burped up a letter.
"Who sent it Spike?" Twilight asked.
"Your brother!"
Fluttershy looked up and smiled. "I think I know why he sent a letter."
"Why, sugarcube?" AJ asked.
"This baby filly right here is his daughter."
The other ponies finally realized that the baby had a horn and wings.
"She's so cute! Can I hold her?! CAN I?! CAN I?!" Pinkie yelled.
Sketch smiled at Pinkie and laughed.
"Ahh." Rarity and AJ said.
"Oh no, the baby is too cute. I'm going to die!" Rainbow yelled.
"What is going on your majesty?" Flash Sentry came in.
"Oh nothing is wrong Flash, you can continue what you were doing." Twilight replied, looking at him with a light blush.
Flash left with a blush on his cheeks and another guard saw him.
"Looks like someone has a crush on the princess."
"Shut up."

"Looks like we have to raise her girls." Twilight said.
"How is she going to go to school with a horn and wings?" Rainbow asked.
"Oh, I know! I know! We can put a baggy hat on her and she'll look like a Pegasus!"
"That is actually a great idea Pinkie Pie." Rarity said.
"Thank you."
"We should change her name too." Fluttershy suggested. "How about, Paint?"
"Ah' like it." AJ said.
"Me too." Spike said.
"It's cool." Rainbow nodded.
"So it's settled, Sketch is only Sketch here. But at school she is a Pegasus named Paint." Twilight declared.
"Yep." The other ponies agreed.
"Well, let's get a room made into a nursery." Fluttershy said.
"Yay! I'll go get some buckets of paint and get an artist to come and paint designs on the walls! Ooo, we can gat them to paint her mom and dad on the walls to!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"I'll get a crib made just for her with some curtains for the window, I'll make her clothes too." Rarity smiled.
"Okay everypony, let's get to work." AJ said.
They all went in different directions and Fluttershy took Sketch to her cottage until the nursery was finished.
"What's that you're holding, my dear?" Discord asked.
"Twilight's niece." Fluttershy replied. "She's only staying for today, don't worry."
"Oh it's fine. How about we let her play with Screwball?" He suggested.
"Oh that's a great idea, they are the same age. What about Star Sky?"
"He's sleeping in his crib."
"We'll maybe next time she can play with him."
"Maybe, now I gotta go, I guess Queen Chrysalis is back. Bye." The draconeques kissed his wife and left.
Fluttershy flew over to the play pen with Sketch in her arms and put her down next to Screwball. Screwball looked at Sketch and became curious. Why did she have both a unicorn horn and wings? Screwball had only seen 1 other pony like that, and that was her Godmother Twilight Sparkle.
Screwball crawled towards the other foal and conjoured up a baggy hat, that was purple, and used her magic to put it on Sketch's head.
Sketch looked at it and smiled at Screwball with a tiny laugh. Screwball smiled and laughed a bit too.
Suddenly Fluttershy heard Screwball's twin brother, Star Sky, cry and wake up.
"I'll be right back girls." Fluttershy flew up stairs.
Sketch took this as an opportunity to get a closer look at her friend. Screwball had very interesting eyes that were purple spirals. Her mane was light purple and white, her coat was a light pink color. What Sketch liked the most though was her green and white propeller hat, it was cute and cool.

Soon Rainbow had come to get Sketch so she could sleep in the new nursery, but when she got there she saw something so adorable she had forgotten why she went there in the first place.
Sketch, Screwball, and Star Sky had all cuddled up after playing for a long time. Star Sky was in the middle and Sketch was on his right, hugging him like he was a teddy bear.
"That is so cute." Rainbow said.
"I know." Fluttershy replied. "I've never seen the twins sleep so soundly before."
"Oh, um, I came to bring Sk- I mean Paint home."
"Oh, of course." Fluttershy gently picked the alicorn up.
Sketch began to struggle so Fluttershy gave her a stuffed bunny that used to be hers. Sketch settled down in the mare's arms and smiled in her sleep. Fluttershy looked at Rainbow and handed her the foal.
"Are you sure you want me to hold her, b-because I d-don't want to drop her?"
"You'll be fine."
Fluttershy sent them on their way and saw Star Sky was up and started to cry as Sketch left.
"Oh, dear." Fluttershy went to comfort the little colt.
Everyday Paint would play with Star Sky and Screwball. They would go to the castle or the treehouse, which the CMC passed down.
When they were 5 they went to school to be taught by Mrs. Apple, aka Miss Cherilee. There they met many other fillies and colts their age. Not all of them were as nice as others. The three made friends with Dinky Doo, Key Lime, and Ice Rose.
Dinky was Derpy's daughter, but instead of being a Pegasus, she was a unicorn. Her coat was a very light purple and, her mane was the same color as her mother's, yellow. Her eyes were a beautiful gold color and were always bright with happiness. Screwball made friends with her very quickly. They were great friends.
Key Lime was a young colt. He was the son of a beautiful Earth pony named, Fruit Tart, who worked at Sugarcube corner with Pinkie Pie. His eyes were a light green. His coat was green, not like the grass, but not like mint, it was like a key lime pie's filling. His mane was like Doctor Whooves' but a very light brown like the crust on a pie. He was a very light hearted colt and smiled often. He was very kind and loved to be with his friends.
Ice Rose was a beautiful young mare, she was a Pegasus and loved to hang out with Paint and the other girls. Her mane was a dark blood red and curly. Her fur was a light blue color that looked like ice. Her eyes were a shocking electric blue.
The 6 friends went through everything together. They even knew Sketch's secret. Whenever one of them got bullied they would stand up for each other. One day at school it was Family appreciation day. Each pony brought a family member.
Sketch had not taken anyone that was blood-related. She had taken Rainbow Dash, because it looked the most normal explanation. Besides Sketch thought of Rainbow Dash, like a big sister.
Back to the Present Day....
Cherry Cheesecake raised her hand.
"Yes, Cherry?" Mrs. Apple asked the mare.
"How many Alicorn Princesses are there? I've only heard of 3 but my big brother said there are more than that."
"Well there are 5. Princess Celestia, who raises the sun and her sister Princess Luna, who raises the moon. Princess Twilight Sentry, who lives here in Ponyville, she is the princess of Friendship. Then there is the princess of The Crystal Empire, Princess Cadence. Also Princess Cadence's Daughter named Sketch, who was sent away so the queen of the changelings couldn't get her. She is actually supposed to turn 10 on Friday."
Everypony started to chat amongst themselves, when the bell rang.
"Remember tomorrow is your English practice test!" Mrs. Apple yelled over the young ponies.
Sketch led everyone to the castle to study and do their homework. They ran into the library and helped each other.
"Hey Sketch what's the answer to question #6?" Star Sky asked.
"I finished in school, but let me see."
Sketch walked over and looked at the colts packet. She didn't even notice how nervous he was with her that close to him.
Star Sky had started acting weird around her, but she was oblivious to the fact. His dark blue fur would get all sweaty, along with his black mane. His yellow eyes, which were like a normal pony's, would get nervous and his cheeks would flush.
"Oh now I remember, it's complex." She said, smiling.
Suddenly Sketch's aunt, Twilight came in.
"How's the studying going?" Twilight asked.
"It's going great, Mrs. Sentry." Ice Rose said, smiling.
"Great." Twilight turned to Sketch. "May I talk to you, Sketch?"
"Ok." Sketch replied.
The filly ran out behind her aunt.
"That was so not obvious, Star Sky." Key Lime said sarcastically.
"Well she didn't notice, so shut up." Sky replied.
"She'll figure out soon, Sky." Screwball said to her twin brother.
"I'd have to agree with Screwball. She's not stupid." Ice Rose agreed.
"She doesn't even notice. Besides, who would like me? Discord's son."
Sketch entered the library to see everyone still doing homework.
"You guys should be done by now." Sketch said.
"Well we were talking." Dinky replied.
"About what?"
"About our crushes." Key Lime said.
Sketch's eyes looked at Sky but she looked back at Lime. "Who's your crush, Lime?"
"I'd rather not say." His face was red.
"C'mon, who's the special mare?"
"None of your business!"
"But you told them, why not tell me?"
Lime couldn't get out of it now.
"Fine! I have a crush on Notebook."
Sketch's eyes widened. Lime liked her cousin?
Notebook was a year younger then them. Her hair was light blue and purple. Her coat was a light orange color just like her father's, Flash Sentry. She had wings, and a unicorn horn. She already got her cutie mark, but only a few days ago, it was a stack of books. Her talent was researching.
Suddenly, the filly came in and grabbed some books.
"Hey guys. Sorry to interrupt, but I needed some new books to read. I'm doing some research about some fairy tale writers."
Notebook walked out carrying about 10 books in her saddle bags.
"You better watch out for her dad. He is really overprotective. Sorta like my dad." Sketch said.
Star Sky gulped nervously at this. He didn't want to be hurt by the captain of the royal guard.
"Anyways." Ice Rose said. "Are you guys excited for Sketch's birthday party?"
"It's gonna be so awesome. Pinkie Pie and her husband, Cheese Sandwich are planning it. I'm so excited!" Sketch exclaimed.
"Those two are the best party planners in all of Equestria! Your so lucky." Dinky said.
"Well it's double digits. Very special." Lime replied.
"Remember Ice Rose's 6th birthday party? That was pretty awesome." Screwball recalled.
"Especially when Rarity showed up with your birthday dress. You freaked out, because she complimented how your mane was styled." Sketch said, smiling.
After they were done with homework,everyone went home and had dinner. If only they had known that this birthday wouldn't be as great as they thought.
Twilight sat on her throne, listening to the friendship problems between a light purple unicorn and a green pegasus.
"So Mint Chip here, suddenly pops up at my house, saying 'I need to stay here for a while. Is that okay?' I say it's fine, but she keeps messing with my stuff. I go to my art desk and I can't find any of my paintbrushes. So I thought she was just borrowing them, and I decide to go to my room where my typewriter is, so I can finish a chapter of my book, but Mint was in there typing on it!! I had to retype a whole chapter!!" The unicorn complains.
"Well I was borrowing your paintbrushes, Noble Quill. And I thought I could try and help you with your new chapter!! Excuse me for trying to help." Mint Chip fires back.
"GIRLS!!" Twilight interrupts.
The two mares looked up at the princess.
"Mint Chip, if your staying at anypony's house you have to ask before you touch their stuff. Noble Quill, you shouldn't be so mad at her for trying to help with your book and try hiding your typewriter if you don't want anypony to touch it."
The two smile at Twilight, then turn to each other.
"I'm sorry for touching your stuff." Mint said, looking at the ground.
"I'm sorry that I was so mad at you." Noble Quill replied.
The two hugged each other and turned to Twilight.
"Thanks, Twilight."
They walked out of the room as if nothing had happened. Twilight smiled. She had known those two when she was in Canterlot. Noble Quill was in Celestia's school and Mint would always come visit her from their hometown, Ponyville.
Suddenly a letter appeared for Twilight. It looked like it was from Princess Celestia. Twilight opened it with her magic.
Dear Princess Twilight,
I hate to inform you that Cadence and Shining Armor have gone missing. We do not know what has happened to them, but I believe that it is time to take Sketch to her real home.
The guards will make sure that Chrysalis and the changelings won't get her. I regretfully say that you mustn't come with her. Instead you must send her friends, because I have learned that they will be the new elements of harmony. I do believe I know which Elements they all are too.
Key Lime is the element of honesty. Dinky Doo is the element of magic. Screwball is the element of laughter. Star Sky, the element of kindness. Ice Rose, the element of generosity. And finally Sketch is the element of loyalty.
If you must send an adult with them, send any of your friends, I suggest Fluttershy, for she was the element of kindness but she is also firm.

Twilight re-read the letter. Looks like she had to take the kids to the tree of harmony. Now.

Cherilee looked out the window to see Princess Twilight Sparkle.
"Class, silent read until I get back. I have to talk to somepony."
The students all got out a book to read as their teacher walked out of the schoolhouse.
"What is it Twilight?" Cherilee asked.
"I need Star Sky, Sketch, Screwball, Key Lime, Ice Rose, and Dinky Doo. They will have to be taken out of school for a while."
Twilight frowned at the teacher and showed her the letter.
"Oh my. That's such a big responsibility for such young fillies and colts. It's terrible. I'll get them."
The students looked up as they heard the door open. Cherilee was back but not as happy as before.
"Sketch, Star Sky, Screwball, Key Lime, Ice Rose, and Dinky Doo you're leaving early today."
The 6 ponies grabbed their stuff and walked out the door to see Twilight.
"What are we doing, aunt Twilight?" Sketch asked.
"We're going to the tree of harmony. To get the elements back." Twilight replied.
"The elements? But I thought you guys put them back so the tree would be strong." Star Sky said.
"Well, the princess has told me we need them. Besides it's been about 17 years since we put them back."
"Okay then." Key Lime said.
"How are we supposed to get them?" Dinky asked, "Aren't you, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity the bearers of the elements?"
"Well, there are new bearers of the elements." Twilight replied.
"Who?" Screwball questioned.
"I'll tell you when we get there."
"Hey, aunt Twilight, guess what."
"What?"
"I got something at school today."
"An A+?"
"Other then that, my cutie mark!"
Sketch got in front of her aunt to show her. On her flank was a pencil and a paintbrush crossed like swords. There were the signature sparkles around them too.
"Oh my goodness, that's wonderful." Twilight smiled.
She noticed each pony had gotten their cutie mark. She hadn't been able to pay attention for a while, because of her royal duties.
Star Sky's was a telescope with stars above it. They had all been studying about Astronomy in class, and he learned that he knew all of the constellations and positions.
Key Lime had three pieces of key lime pie. In home ec. he got an A+ for making the best key lime pie.
Screwball had gotten hers after school yesterday, when her family went to a baseball game. It was a screw and a baseball.
Dinky Doo's was three golden sparkles. She had done very powerful magic in class.
Ice rose's was interesting. A Rose but it was made out of ice. Her special talent was creating unique beautiful things.
Suddenly there was a growling noise. It sounded like-
"Timber Wolves!" Ice Rose screamed.
Sketch flew in front of her friends and aunt.
"Stay away from my friends." She snarled at them.
They started running towards her and her horn started glowing a dark purple color, like her eyes. She blasted the wolves and yelled at her friends, ordering them to go. Dinky, Star Sky, and Screwball helped her by using their magic.
The timber wolves kept reforming and hitting the 4 ponies. They finally were down so the ponies were about to leave, when one of the wolves reformed, unnoticed, and bit Sketch's wing.
"Sketch!" Star Sky yelled. He flew over, then looked at the wolf with fury.
"NOPONY HURTS MY FRIENDS!!"
His eyes started glowing white and he fired magic at all the wolves and watched as they turned to ash. As his eyes went back to their golden yellow, he looked down at Sketch who layed in his hooves. Her eyes were wide with shock, just like the other ponies.
"Sky, you saved me." Sketch said with awe.
"Why wouldn't I?"
Sketch jumped on him, giving him a hug.
Sky's face had a pink tint on his cheeks and his ears. Twilight noticed this and smiled. Young love.
"Sketch, come here." Twilight said, "I brought bandages."
This would be an interesting journey.

Sketch walked by Ice Rose and Dinky. They were helping her, just in case she passed out from blood loss. Her wing looked horrible. It was torn a bit, you could see her bone a bit. Blood leaked out of the tear.
"Girls, I'm fine." Sketch said.
"No you aren't." Star Sky said, "Hop onto my back."
He got down in front of her and pointed to his back.
"Sky I ca-"
"Now."
Sketch finally agreed and climbed onto his back.
"Thanks." Sketch whispered. She kissed his head.
"Don't worry about it."
Ice Rose smiled. It was so adorable.
"Don't worry my little ponies, we're almost there." Twilight told them.
"So, who are the new elements of harmony?" Screwball asked.
"I'll tell you once we're th-"
"We're here." Key Lime said.
"Fine. This will be shocking, but you are the new elements."
"I KNEW IT!" Dinky yelled.
"Huh?" Sketch asked.
"The way your aunt was acting made me realize we were the elements. She took us out of school, leading us to the elements without her friends. It's obvious."
"You surprise me sometimes." Key Lime stated.
"Thanks."
"How are we supposed to get the elements away from the tree?" Sketch asked.
"Dinky will use her magic to get them off." Twilight replied.
"Me?" Dinky asked. "Why not Sketch?"
"She's not the element of magic, you are."
"Are you sure?" Dinky asked.
"I am absolutely sure."

The tree of harmony shone in the light of the sun. It was beautiful and in each spot was a different shaped jewel. In the center was a pink six pointed star and on the five branches were a orange apple, a blue balloon, a red lightning bolt, a pink butterfly and a purple diamond.
"They are beautiful." Sketch said in awe.
"Yeah." Star replied.
"How do I do it?" Dinky asked.
"Concentrate on the elements and focus on getting them down. Then you'll know which elements everyone are." Twilight replied.
A gold sparkly aura appeared around Dinky's horn and the elements. As she brought them down they changed shapes. The lightning bolt turned into a pencil, the apple turned into a lime, the butterfly into a star, the diamond turned into a rose, the balloon turned into a baseball and the six pointed star turned into a four pointed sparkle.
Dinky fell onto the ground as the elements went onto each pony as bright lights flashed from them. The jewels were now on golden necklaces.
"I'm the element of loyalty. Star is the element of kindness. Lime is honesty. Rose is genorosity. And Screwball is laughter." Sketch realized.
"Take the bandage off Sketch." Twilight ordered.
"Okay."
Sketch used her magic to unwrap the bandage on her wing. There was no longer a tear! It had healed because, of the elements.
"My Celestia, that's amazing." Dinky said.
"Yeah! I get to fly again." Sketch smiled. "Thanks for carrying me Sky."
"Why wouldn't I? We're friends."
"Yeah, friends. I would've done the same thing for you."
"Well, let's go kids, or you'll be late for the train." Twilight said.
"Train?" The children asked.

"Here is your crown, don't let anyone see it. And keep your element in your bag." Flash gave Sketch her saddle bag.
"Don't worry uncle Flash, I got it." Sketch replied, "Besides Fluttershy, Discord, Rainbow Dash, and Soarin are coming with us."
"I know it's just that, Discord has a bad past."
"He's been reformed for like 16 years."
"I'll send a letter each week."
"All aboard, for the Crystal Empire!" A stallion yelled.
"Bye." Sketch said.
She hugged her uncle then ran onto the train.
The kids and the adults shared their own car together.
"Sketch, are you okay?" Dinky asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It just feels wrong to leave Ponyville, I've never even been to the empire."
"Really? But you were born there."
"Yeah, but Twilight never let me go. She thought it would be too dangerous."
"At least she was concerned for your well fair."
"Yeah, you're right. But I've always wanted to see the ponies there, and the castle where I was born. I've heard so much about it and it's history."
"Hey. Stop frowning, squirt." Rainbow said. "At least you'll finally see everything today. Besides we'll be staying there and you won't need to hide your horn anymore."
"Yeah, that's right. Plus Pinkie and Cheese said they'll come for your birthday tomorrow." Soarin encouraged along with his wife.
"See Sketch. There is nothing to be sad about." Fluttershy agreed.
"Here." Discord said.
He conjured up some apple cider and gave it to the filly. Just like Rainbow Dash, Sketch loved apple cider.
"Thanks Discord." Sketch smiled at the draconeques.
As they got to the empire, many guards stood waiting for Sketch and the others. The other ponies were confused about all the guards being there. It was a huge line of them, for some reason it reminded Sketch of the story Spike told her when she was at the farm being babysat by him and his wife, Applejack.
"Let's go children." Discord lead the children outside of the train.
The guards led them all to the palace.
"In 2 hours you will introduce yourself to the crystal ponies." A guard said.
"Great. Where are my parents?" Sketch replied.
Fluttershy looked nervous for a second but Discord calmed her down.
"Your parents are on a mission in Saddle Arabia, they said it may take years to finish." The guard answered.
"Oh."
"It's okay Sketch, I'm sure it won't take a really long time for them to finish their work." Rainbow reassured.
