Twilight sat down at her desk, waiting for the teacher to begin talking about the subject of matter density. She was very excited, for they had been studying for todays test for weeks now, and Twilight would finally be able to show her knowledge on the subject.

She just wanted class to start, which everypony could see by how she looked at the clock every few seconds.

Twilight, though, seemed to be the only pony excited for the test. All the others seemed glum and gloomy, more so than usual, today. This left Twilight confused 'how could they not be excited?' She thought to herself.

Finally the teacher walked up to the front of the class and begun speaking about the subject at hand. Before his speech was over, the purple unicorn had already thought of five different questions.

The teacher sighed as she began blasting them at him, which he could only answer to the best of his ability, since he's a teacher and its his job obviously.

All the other students moaned, one she heard calling her a egghead, so Twilight sunk down into her desk from embarrassment. and allowed the teacher to pass out the tests. After each student got one, Twilight started writing down answers lightning quick.

She finished a good half hour before all the other students, but when she walked up front to turn it in, another had already been placed in the turn in basket.

Confused, Twilight snuck a peak at the test and saw only two answers had been written. Twilight face-hooved and sat back down, embarrassed for whoever the idiotic pony who turned that in was.

Eventually all the other students turned their test in, and Twilight had finished two books while waiting. The teacher dismissed class, and before Twilight could ask him seven other questions she thought of, he was already mysteriously gone. 'Almost like hes trying to avoid me' she thought.

Twilight now proceded to exit the room and started down the hallway, where she noticed a Rainbow maned mare flirting with a another group of mares just outside the room. This mare seemed to do the same thing with a different group each night, usually to the same result.

Just as Twilight looked over, the Rainbow maned pony got turned down and the group proceded to laugh at her. Twilight hated seeing bullies even more than books in a trashcan.

She huffed over and stood between the Rainbow maned pony and the group "I can understand you turning her down, but do you really need to laugh? Thats just rude and mean!"

Twilight felt proud for telling them off, but the white unicorn who seemed to be leading them laughed it off, and the group dispersed.

The Rainbow mane pony looked over at Twilight "Ummm, yeah, thanks for having my back back there. My names Rainbow Dash." She put her hoof out to brohoof, but Twilight returned with to Rainbows surprise a hoof shake.

"Names Twilight Sparkle." She then noticed the clock said 8:00, almost bedtime, so without another word Twilight hurried off to her apartment building.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rainbow Dash just stood there for a moment, very surprised at what just happened. Not only had somepony she never met stood up for her, but it was a pony she teased behind her back.
Twilight always was way too smart for her own good, but how she had helped out Rainbow....it was heroic.
But then she hurried off before Rainbow could properly thank her, leaving Rainbow alone in a now dark hallway, watching the trail Twilight had taken.
Rainbow made her way outside and took off into the night sky with a burst of speed.. So she had struck out with Rarity, oh well, wasn't much special about her anyways. Just some silly fashionista. Rainbow will probably hit the club tonight, find someone there after a few drinks. Then she can play some video games with her roomate, yeah, that sounds fun.
That friend Rairty had with her...Fluttershy?.....She seemed cute. Maybe Rainbow'll try her out. Maybe not thought, seemed too innocent to be caught up in all of this anyways.
And Rainbow thought she remembered her from flight school, so it would just be awakward if it turned out they knew each other.
'Or maybe I'll just sleep, that feeling is kicking in again. That incredibly lonely feeling that only flirting can fill. And thats only for a short time.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As Twilight turned her lights on to her apartment, for some reason she expected somepony to be waiting for her.

That feeling had kicked her full force tonight. She hadn't figured out what it meant yet, it just made her stomcach feel....lonely.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was now morning, and Fluttershy sat waiting at a table at Cafe de Pony. It was a bit too fancy for her taste, but her best friend Rarity seemed to enjoy it, so Flutter'd give it a chance.
As she waited, she enjoyed the sensation of sun against her skin, spring was just wonderful. Something about animals running about and a clear sky just made Flutter want to sing.
She spotted Rarity walk through the front door, but something was wrong. Rarity's purse was ripped, her hair all tangled, and it seemed dirt splotched her face.
Flutter ran over quickly to check over her friend "Rarity!? What happened!?"
"I was....jumped by Rainbow...." Was all Rarity could mutter before she fell to the ground.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`

That night Rainbow sat alone at a corner table in the closest bar to her house. The lights were dimmed and she was boozed up, so she was highly surprised she hadn't fallen asleep yet.

As she let the techno music burst into her ear drums, and the alchohol burn up her stomach, the feeling returned. This time much stronger, she felt like she wished somepony had came to the bar with her.

Then she noticed two colts walk in, they would be easy prey.

Rainbow strutted over, promptly sitting down at the same table as the colts, making sure she swayed her flank properly.

"Why, hello there boys." She said, in as sexy a voice as she could manage in her drunken state, which most likely wasn't too impressive.

The colts responded, but everything just sounded like a ringing, and her vision was fuzzy, so Rainbow just assumed they took her bait and continued.

"So, want me to give you the grand tour?" This time the colts got up and walked off, Rainbow thought she heard the front door open and close.

"Party shitters" She muttered under her breath.

Then she saw her, Twilight, the unicorn from last night just walk in. Twilight sat at a counter seat and order a shot, so Rainbow made her way over.

"Hey you, I never got to properly thank you for last night." Something was wrong, Twilights face looked different.

Out of surprise Rainbow stumbled back, landing on her flank and knocking over a table and a few drinks. The alchohol was playing tricks, for Rainbow could now see this was not Twilight. But why had it shown her Twilight? Made no sense.

Just then five colts burst through the door, they had police unforms on. Rainbow tried to get off the floor, but her legs had became jelly.

The cops made their war to Rainbow and hand cuffed her. They proceded to lift her onto their backs.

One said "Rainbow Dash, you are under arrest for assualt and robery."

Since the requests have been coming in daily for another chapter I was able to sneak onto a working computer to update this chapter. I hope you all enjoy, and if you don't please do tell why

CHAPTER 1:

Rainbow had now been sitting in the police station for at least two hours, and the cops had yet to even begin questioning her. The boredom was killing her, as she sat on a old wooden bench in a concrete cell, listening to water drip off from the roof.

They were treating her like a criminal! She hadn't done anything wrong! How could they do this!? Surely if the Wonderbolts hear of this there will be no chance for Rainbow to make the team.

As these thoughts continued to pester her, she could just barely make out the sound of a door creaking open. Hopping up from her wooden bench and quickly making her way to the iron bars, a old mustachioed cop made his way to into her line of view.

"Ms. Rainbow Dash, we would like you to come with me to questioning." He said, his gruff voice making his mustache bob as he talked. Rainbow could make out the name on his page "Gold Star".

"Yes! Anything! Just let me out of this freaking cell! Its so stinkin boring in here!" The cop opened u the cage as Rainbow thankfully exited the cell.

As they made their way to the interrogation room Gold Star made sure to keep a close eye on Rainbow, analyzing her every move. "Jeez dude, chill. I'm not gonna try to escape or anything." Rainbow said a bit irritated.

"Thats exactly what you would say if you were going to try to escape. Now keep moving." Gold's eyes flashed a glare at Rainbow, giving her the feeling this pony held something personal against her.

The interrogation room hardly looked different from her cell. It was a square concrete room with a glass window on the left side and a table and chairs in the middle.

Rainbow sat in the closest chair as Gold took the one across. "Now, first of all, we require to know why you committed the crime you did." Gold read of a clip board sitting on the table in front of him.

"Well you see, thats a interesting question because I DIDN"T BUCKING DO ANYTHING!" Rainbow had fought to keep her anger in since she entered this building, but that question sent her over the edge.

"I must ask you to lower your voice or else we will be forced to restrain you. Trust me, you don't want that." A sly smile spread across Gold's face.

Rainbow returned a glare at him and forced herself to calm down. "Fine, what I meant to say is your wrong. I didn't commit this crime. I know that for a fact."

"Stop lying." Gold said flatly, his face lacking all emotion besides obvious hated for the cyan mare.

"I'm not lying...I didn't do anything and you better let me go right now!" Rainbow's temper was rising again, but this time much harder to contain. Rainbow had always been complemented on being loyal, and being called a liar was about as opposite of that as you could get.

"Fine, I guess we'll have to resort to more...violent... measures then." Gold said with a forced sigh.

Just then another cop burst through the door. "Mr. Star! A, uhh, Ms. Twilight Sparkle is here. She said she has proof as to Rainbows innocence."

Rainbow could make out a quiet curse before Gold responded "Fine...bring her in."

The second cop exited the room and returned a few minutes later with Twilight, the purple mare looking a bit tired, most likely due to the lateness of the night.

She cleared her throat and spoke "If I may, Rainbow is innocent of whatever crime you have accused her of. I have proof if I may..."

Gold cut her off quickly "So you don't even know what the crime is, yet you say shes innocent? How can you possible..."

This time Twilight cut HIM off "As I was going to say, If I may show you my proof I believe you will understand.: Twilight pulled out a small notepad and bean reading off it "First of all, the time you drug Rainbow off hear was exactly 9:01 PM. If she left college classes and went straight to the bar, according to a normal pegasi's speed she would have arrived at 9:08, giving her very little time to commit a crime and arrive there when she did."

Rainbow silently chuckled when Twilight said "a normal pegasi's speed". Rainbow knew she was much faster than a normal pegasi, but luckily neither Twi nor the cops did.

"My second piece of evidence is what I've gathered from spending a year in the same class as her. I have observed that Rainbow would not mentally be able to commit a crime and not yet admit to it. Rainbow has on multiple occasions in class done something rude or offensive to somepony but always soon tried to make up, or on rare occasions apologize for it. With her feeling guilty for such juvenile things, the weight of committing a crime would have forced her, personality and mentally wise, to admit to said crime."

Rainbows jaw dropped a bit. She had never before heard a pony say something so intelligent that was not a teacher. That and the fact that Twilight would've had to put so much thought into this, just to help out Rainbow, who hardly knew Twilight. She was impressed, and although it was hard to admit, a bit flattered.

"Now what makes you think your so intelligent as to know how this criminals mind works." Gold was trying to hold in his annoyance, but was doing a terrible job of doing so.

"Because I did the calculations and I can say definitely that I am at least 31% more intelligent than anypony in this room." Twilights words were confident but then her eyes widened "Oh my, I'm sorry! I didn't realize, that sounded like I was boasting didn't it? I didn't mean it that way, I promise!"

Rainbow chuckled about how much Twilight could worry about sounding boastful, she had witnessed this on multiple occasions before.

Gold and the second cop whispered something to each other. Gold spoke up "Then answer us this Ms. Sparkle. What is two plus two, minus two, times two, divided by two."

"Thats easy, two." Twilight instantly responded.

Gold groaned. "Well it seems all of Ms. Sparkles evidence is pointing to Ms. Rainbow being innocent. Of course she will still have to go to a court hearing."

This made Dash's heart sink. After all of that she was still suspected. Maybe Twi could be her lawyer...

A few days passed until the court hearing occured. Until then Dash could not stop worrying about if they came up with some kind of evidence against her.

Luckily the hearing came and passed and she was proven innocent, without any evidence against her. As Rainbow exited the building she saw a happy surprise.

There stood Twilight, transfixed in some book as always. Dash made her way over and tapped the studious Unicorn on the shoulder "Hey Twi!"

Twilight jumped from surprise a bit, not having realized Rainbow was behind her. "Oh hey Rainbow! How did the hearing go? Are you innocent?"

Twilight quickly abandoned the book, obviously excited to hear about Rainbow's hearing. This surprised Dash, for she knew Twilight usually enjoyed books more than reality.

"Yep, I got a clean slate. They had nothing against me." The cyan pegasus said happily.

"Thats great Rainbow!" Twilight hugged Rainbow, which caught her off gaurd, but Dash hugged back. The feeling of Twilights warm body against hers felt...weird, but in a good way...she felt so ...nice.

Rainbows eyes widened as she realized what she was thinking. She quickly ended the hug and took a step back to refocus her mind. "Yeah, it is." Rainbow smiled, her thoughts giving her a embarrassed expression.

"Well, see you around then?" A look of hope was in Twilights eyes, at least Dash thought so.

"Yeah...I'd enjoy that." She smiled at Twi who returned it then turned and began to walk off, her book tucked safely away in her book bag.

But as Rainbow watched the purple unicorn walk away, she got a nagging feeling. Like something was pulling her heart forward, it felt good, a happy feeling. Rainbow couldn't help but smile...then realized she didn't want Twilight to leave.

She hurried over to Twilight, she now knew what this feeling was. She for sure had a crush on Twilight. The way Twi stood up for her, how friendly she was to Dash, and that hug...

She knew what she had to do, she needed to know how Twi felt. Even if it was a stupid little crush that would pass over a few days, or if it wasn't a crush on Twilight, but on what she did, she felt the need to know how Twi felt.

But...what if it would pass? What if she got into a relationship she really didn't want? Something in her heart told her it wouldn't pass so easy.

As Dash caught up to Twilight and looked her in the eyes, the words slipped out "Would you like to go on a date sometime?"

Twilight looked back, obviously surprised, and responded with a simple:

*Authors note: Sorry to leave everyone waiting so long, but heres your long awaited chapter.*

The moon was shining down brightly as Rainbow walked home that night, "What have I gotten myself into?" She thought to herself.

Surely she'd done hundreds of stunts, some even life endangering, but nothing has frightened her as much as this. A date with Twilight.

She wasn't even sure WHY she was afraid, Twilight was geeky and all, but...something about her filled Rainbows stomach with butterflies. Ever since that night Twilight stood up for her.

And now, just a few days later, Rainbow was anticipating a date with her! What if she did something wrong? What if Twilight was obsessed with table manners and grammar (which Rainbow had little of), or what if they got attacked by giant marshmallows?

As she unlocked and opened up the door to her apartment, Rainbow took one last look over the night sky, the starts beginning to appear one by one in the crimson sky. "Maybe I could take her for a fly?" Wasn't too bad of a idea.

"No! Too much could go wrong! She could fall, or worse." Rainbow facehooved, now realizing she was thinking out loud.

Rainbows house was in horrible condition, clothes and random little items were scattered all over, food wrappers on the couch and table, the TV just static due to the lack of paying for cable.

Rainbow death marched through it all into her room, instantly belly flopping upon her bed, burying her cyan face into her pillow.

"This is going to go just horrible, I know it."

Twilight

"You look like trash Twilight." Thats what she though, staring at herself in the mirror, soaking wet from the apparently random rainstorm outside, mud splashed here and there as well.

Cleansing her body, and drying out her mane, thoughts flooded Twilights mind. "Why are you doing this Twilight? Rainbow is arrogant, rude, and frankly not all that intellectual.

But at the sound of Rainbows name, or the image of the Pegasus mare in her head, all the blood rushed into Twilights face, her legs weakening a little, and although she'd never admit it, her horn hardened a bit.

"How could this date possibly go well? Either Rainbow is going to do something completely embarrassing, of your gonna make an idiot of yourself, correcting her grammar or something." Twilight took one last look out her window, before closing the blinds. "I wonder if somewhere else, Rainbow is looking into the sky too."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The light was almost blinding at first, the vast array of colors, all swirling into a whirlpool in the middle of Twi's apartment. As the light died a bit, revealing a familiar face, Twi's eyes finally got their vision back.
Twi had asked her brother for advice on her upcoming date, and being the great stallion he was, he had set up a holo-chat up the next morning.
For all those who don't have the knowledge of a holo-chat, its a telepathic connection set up between two unicorns, creating a energy hole in the middle, letting one see the other through it.
The purple unicorns face lit up with happiness at the sight of her brother, she hardly got to see him due to his job as a Royal Gaurd up at Canterlot Castle.
"Hey Twily!" He seemed to be equally as happy, having been very close to his sister in their youth.
"Hi Shining, thank you sooo much for calling so soon."
"Its no trouble at all, Twi! I'm on break anyways. So whos the lucky stallion who gets to go on a date with you?"
All the color suddenly flushed from Twilights face. Somehow in her letter, she had somehow left out the detail of her date being of the same gender. How would Shining react? Would he even approve? "Well um, actually, my dates another mare."
Much to her relief, Shining seem to be unfazed by this. "Well then, whos the lucky mare?"
"Her names Rainbow Dash, one of my fellow classmates."
"Rainbow Dash, huh? That name seems strikingly familiar..." Shinings face showed he was obviously going into deep thought, getting that far away look.
"How would you have heard of her? Shes not famous or anything right?"
"I heard her name on the news once..." This surprised Twi, how had her dates name gotten into the news all the way up in Canterlot? Only the big important news was aired up there.
"Well she would always talk about some crazy stunt of hers, maybe they were filming one of them?"
"Yeah...probably just that" Shining shook that thoughts out of his head, the brightness returning to his face. "So anyways, you wanted some advice right?"
"Oh, yes please! You know I've never been on a date before, how do I act? What do I wear?" It felt like a huge weight was lifted off her shoulders, knowing someone could finally answer these questions, since she had no actual friends to confide in.
"Twi, thats simple. You act yourself, don't try to fake anything about you. Voice your honest opinions, bring up things you enjoy, and wear a dress that YOU think is nice. Simple as that, be you."
Just like that the weight was back on. How was that supposed to help? What if Rainbow didn't like who she was? What if she picked a ugly dress? What if she thought of boring topics or said something rude? Now she just had more questions.
"Sorry Twi, but my breaks just about over, I gotta be heading off. Good luck!" He flashed one more smile, as his image began to fade.
"But, Shining Wa--" He was gone.
Rainbow
Tonight was the night! The night of the date! Rainbows of course has had tons of dates before, but not a real one. More just...short ones. Ones where she didn't have to try to impress anypony, or one she actually cared about her date.
Frankly, she was scared out of her mind.
The butterflies in her stomach had transformed into a maelstrom of moths, no long just anxiety, not it was full out terror.
She had picked out a dress, a simple one the color of her eyes. She heard Rarity say once that a good dress should compliment your eyes. Rainbow wasn't sure what that meant, since dresses can't make compliments due to their inability to speak, but she thought the dress went well with her eyes.
She took one more glance into her mirror, thinking over the events of the past week. How Twilight had saved her, the night she got these feelings for Twi. How she'd been arrested and brought to court, only to have Twilight save her. How she asked out Twi right after, and how she almost jumped out of her skin with excitement when she said yes.
The arrest was what bothered her mind the most, she could hardly sleep without that flooding back into her head. "Why HAD she been arrested? Why was the sheriff so angry with her?"
"No! This is not the night to think of that! This is a night for you and Twilight." She kept telling herself that as she rinsed off her silky coat, shampooed her rainbow mane, and slipping on the first dress shes ever bought.
She took a step out her door, when a sudden realization hit her. "You can do this. Why are you afraid? You already know Twi wanted to go on this date with you, so why are you afraid?"
A smile flickered across Rainbows face, as she continued outside.
Twilight
Her dress was beautiful. Twi hated boasting more than anything, but even she knew that her dress was great. It was a simple styled purple dress, with small yellow stars flickered across it. It brought out the highlights in her hair, and went just with her eyes as Rarity once said it should.
A blush went across her face, wondering what Rainbow would wear. But instead of worry this time when she thought of the upcoming date, she got a smile. A smile, excited smile.
"Maybe Shining was right, I don't have anything to be afraid of. This date will be fun, and Rainbow will be charming."
She straightened her mane one last time, as she started the short trek into town. Luckily this time it was rather dry out, was the weather patrol looking out for her? The thought made her chuckle.
It was truly a beautiful night, the moon was full and al the stars had already came out in the dark purple night sky.
Tonight would be amazing, nothing could go wrong.
Shining Armor
He ran into his room at the highest speed the whit stallion could manage, rummaging through all his stuff until he finally found it. The news article he remembered seeing Rainbow on.
It was only about a week old, so he still had it laying upon his work table. "I knew I'd seen her!" He congratulated himself.
Finally when he reread the article, his face flushed whiter than it had before. He had to warn Twilight!
As he tossed aside the news paper, he thought he heard someone outside his bedroom door, but pushed the thought away. He tried to contact Twi, but failed. She wasn't picking up. "Buck! She must already be on her date! I have to go find her RIGHT NOW!"
Shining turned and began to run out his door, but was stopped by a familiar figure. Rainbow stood in front of him.
"Where do you think you're going Shining? Twilight doesn't need to anything, just yet. My lords would be rather upset if the surprise got spoiled so soon." A look of menace flashed across her eyes as she began to near him. "Now, I believe, its time for you to take a nap."
