A abused filly finds friendship and is lead to a new life.

Banana Cream is a filly who has a dark secret. Her parents send her to school very late, when she is 8 because they got sick of her. Banana ends up meeting 3 fillies who change her life for the better.

Nyx isn't my oc, she belongs to Penstroke and her portrayal is from the story Past Sins, which you should definitely read. All I claim ownership on is Banana and Silver.

The new filly

It was the first day of the summer term at the Ponyville School. Fillies from Ponyville gathered at the schoolhouse and would play on the beautiful fields and equipment, waiting for the school bell to ring to announce the start of the lessons. A group of 3 unicorn fillies were playing on the see-saw. Sitting on one side was a periwinkle colored unicorn with straw blonde hair and silky gold eyes. She looked down from her high place, as her friend kicked her back hooves up to push the see-saw up. The other filly was a soft pink unicorn with pink hair of 2 different shades and lime green eyes.

Sat on the grassy ground next to them was a pale blue-turquoise filly with purple hair and eyes, she was watching the see-saw jumped up and down as her friends played on it. They had a idea to switch between each other, since their was 3 of them and only 2 seats on the see-saw, at this moment the purple haired unicorn was the one, who had to sit out but she was getting bored. She frowned angrily, ears drooping a little as she muttered, getting louder as her continued to speak in a annoyed tone. ''Girls, can I go on now. Dinky, you been on for 5 minutes already. Switch with me!''

The periwinkle filly looked down at her friend, as she hop off the see-saw. She didn't give much warning to the pink unicorn, who had been at the top side. The see-saw shot downwards, as the unicorn cried off, holding tightly to the safety bar. She panted when her side hit the ground harshly, her flanks hurt severely as she glared at Dinky, who chuckled nervously. The unicorn snarled, as she almost rolled her eyes at her two friends. ''Din~ky. Never do that again without warning! You could have hurt me more then you d-'' She suddenly stopped as her eyes seemed to widen.

The other two blinked, glancing at each other, before looking to where their pink friend was looking. Coming through the gate of the playground was another filly, who was shaking abnormally. The filly's ears were drooped against her skull, as she looked around as if she was terrified of something about to happen. That 'something' was evident to happen when a aggressive looking colt walked towards the poor skittish filly.

''Ruby.....'' whispered Dinky, as she watched her pink friend sneak closer to the upcoming incident. She and her other friend followed close behind Ruby. Dinky's ears flared up as sounds of shaking hooves filled them. ''Tootsie, Ruby. Lets just watch for a second, we don't know if this will actually be bad.'' The other two nodded as they sat down in the nearby sandpit, watching and listening in to what happened between the 2 foals.

The colt stood in front of the young filly, his silver coat and gray mane giving him a rather dull look. Yet he stood there so smug, as his jade eyes stared down at the shaking unicorn. He was bigger then her in stature and height, so he loomed over her, casting a long shadow. ''So, what do we have here. Don't you know that new fillies aren't allowed in here! This is a playground for foals that have been here since day one, not you, who only came in last week. Oh, that reminds me, your introduction gave away that you were weak instantly.'' He somehow managed to crack his hooves as he walked even closer to her, as she whimpered back. ''Now, does the wittle bwaby fwilly want her mommy.'' The word 'mommy' seemed to make the filly jump more.

She whimpered, tears filling her eyes as she attempted to move back, only to fall over her back hooves. She sat on the floor, shivering and shaking at the sight of the colt. ''Foals like you piss me off.'' He raised his hoof, quickly swinging it back down. He contacted with her cheek, as the dam finally broke down and she began to sob openly, the hoof print on her face turning her cheek bright red. Her orange coat deeply contrasting with the reddening bruise. Her messy mint green hair hung in front of her eyes, as tears rolled from the glimmering gold orbs and down her cheeks, before splashing into the ground.

The colt attempted to punch the foal again, but a golden glow wrapped around his hoof; forcing it to stay still. He looked behind him, seeing that Dinky had gotten out of the sandpit, and was glaring at him, while her periwinkle horn was glowing in the same gold aura that his hoof was covered in. ''I will not allow you to hurt her anymore. The poor thing is terrified, can't you see that Silver Specter.'' She refused to turn out her magic as her two friends stood up, and walked over to the shivering filly; who had her eyes closed tight and didn't understand why the punch hadn't made contact.

Ruby helped the filly up, as she keep an eye on Dinky and Silver. She whispered into the unicorn's ear. ''It's gonna be alright.'' She gently attempted to straighten up the filly's violet and silver vest, only causing the orange filly to flinch away from her. Ruby attempted to say her apology. ''Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you.'' But it only resulted in the filly whimpered, and more tears seemed to leak from her golden eyes. ''Shh shh, it's alright. I'm really sorry, I'm not trying to hurt you.''

The filly simply whimpered, as she finally let Ruby and Tootsie come closer. The turquoise filly smiled as she gently patted the filly's head as Ruby hugged her, much to the filly's obvious discomfort. Tootsie attempted to smile and lighten up the mood, but saying. ''Your name is Banana Cream, right. The new student, who joined us last week?'' All she got was a weak nod, as Banana sank more into Ruby, seeming to trust the filly a lot; oddly.

Back with Dinky, who was still glaring at Silver. She was now stood protectively in front of her friends, her eyes shimmering with annoyance and anger. ''I suggest you leave us alone, Silver. Banana doesn't wish for you to talk to her. Now, leave. I actually think your girlfriend is calling you.'' Her eyes suddenly flashed with mischief as she saw a filly call Silver's name. He groaned, almost rolling her eyes, as he walked out, snarling at the still shaky Banana, who dug her teary face in Ruby's chest. Dinky walked back over to them, frowning at the filly. ''Is she alright, Ruby?''

''I don't know....I really don't know.'' said the pink unicorn, as she stroked the teary eyed filly's green hair. It was confusing, but Banana wasn't liable to give answers in the state she was currently in. ''Girls, lets just take her back inside. We'll ask her what happened when she calms down.'' The other two unicorns nodded, as they simply continue to listen to the tears that dribbled onto their pink friend's coat and eventually splattered onto the ground below.

Comforting

Banana shivered, as she sat behind a black alicorn filly. She kept shooting glances at Ruby Pinch and her friends, blushing and hiding behind her class book every time they spotted her. She whimpered softly, as she tried to stay focused on the lessons. But, it was almost impossible, as she felt a harsh glare on her vest-covered back. She teared up, almost crying but knew she couldn't. She looked behind her, unshed tears evident in her eyes, spotting the colt who had been bullying her earlier; Silver Specter. Her eyes widened as she turned back around, gripping her book tighter.

Ruby blinked, watching the filly from her location on the other side of the room. She tapped Dinky, who sat in front of her. The periwinkle filly looked up, as Ruby pointed to Banana and then at Silver. Dinky nodded, levitating a small piece of paper and wrote on it, in disappearing ink so that Miss Cheerilee didn't see it. 'What do we do.' She wrote, before tossing it behind her to Ruby.

'Not sure.' Ruby wrote back, before thinking for a second. She glanced at the clock that sat above the blackboard. 'It's only 5 minutes until the bell rings for break time. He won't get her, we can protect her then and even ask for help from the CMC, I've seen Nyx smile at her after all.'' As she passed it back to her straw maned friend, she frowned. Motioning her eyes to the clock, she frowned. She couldn't wait for the bell to go, just so she could keep Banana safe.

She blinked, a second later, to see that the piece of paper was back on her desk. She read the message as quickly as her eyes would let her, before she almost growled, but managed to restrain herself. 'I understand, but how do u plan on keeping that mean colt away from her? He obviously hates her.'

She frowned again but before she could reply, her eyes caught sight of Silver Specter shooting rubbers at the poor filly, who only seemed to shrink more. She snarled, almost about the get out of her seat to smack the life out of the colt. But before her hooves controlled her moves, Dinky took hold of the pink unicorn's hoof, another message on the paper. 'Keep calm, you can't get in trouble. He may be a horrible colt, but she'll be fine soon and you know that.' Ruby frowned, looking at and reading the message over and over, trying to stay as calm as her body would allow her.

Her hooves shaking with fury, she looked up at the clock multiple times, waiting and waiting for the bell to ring. When it finally did, it was almost like the weight of the world was taken off her. She walked to the other side of the classroom, but she was quickly stopped by Diamond Tiara, who had a grim frown on her face. She whispered, as her eyes trailed to the poor orange filly, who was still whimpering softly. ''Ruby Pinch, I know we aren't on good terms after my bullying of your group and the CMC, but I have happened to notice that colt bullying the new filly. Protect her. My daddy often comes late to pick me up, and she's always still there, I don't think her family pick her up. I'm not sure if she's on good terms with them.''

''I will.'' said Ruby, nodding her head affirmatively. All Diamond offered in response as a grim smile and a 'good luck'. Ruby closed her eyes softly before turning around to see that Banana was crying as the black alicorn filly, who sat in front of her, attempted to comfort her. She gasped, getting closer to the filly and hugging her. ''Hey now, it's alright, it's alright. Banana, he isn't going to hurt you anymore. Not if I have my way about it.'' As she felt the orange unicorn relax in her comforting hug, Ruby turned to the alicorn filly and smiled softly. ''Thanks, Nyx. I think she'll be okay now, so you should be getting back to Apple Bloom and the others, I think they're waiting for you.''

The alicorn filly closed her dragon-like eyes before nodding. ''Okay, Ruby Pinch. Keep her safe, there's a aura of sadness around her and I fear it's only going to get worse. Be there for her.'' The alicorn filly then turned, her wings suddenly unreeling in a gust of black feathers, as she seemed to glide out of the schoolhouse, perhaps just to make a dramatic exit but who knew.

Ruby simply frowned, not liking anything she was hearing about the filly she was cuddling. Banana had seemed to freeze in her embrace, but it didn't last long as she started to shake and cry again. ''Oh, shh. It's okay.'' She stroked the filly's mane. ''I'm not going to let anypony hurt you, alright.'' She didn't get a reply, just a whimper and a snuffled and teary nod. Ruby deepened her hug, continuing to stroke the filly's mane as she tried to relax her. ''What's going on, Banana. Your so quiet and it's like your going through some trauma.''

Banana whimpered softly, before she whispered. Her voice was like bells in Ruby's ears, but it was strained and teary. ''....I'm f-fine.'' The orange filly whimpered softly, before looking down. She was clearly lying, but Ruby decided not to forced it on her. ''Miss Pinch....'' Banana continued. ''W-why are you looking out....for me.......'' She stopped for a second, before crying again. She pushed the pink unicorn away from her, her eyes redden from crying as she looked into Ruby's green eyes. ''Y-you don't know me......'' She hiccuped, as she strained to speak through her tears.

Ruby closed her eyes, almost sighing. She reopened them and softly smiled, wiping the tears from the orange unicorn's eyes. ''I don't need to know you, to want to be your friend. Your a sweet, beautiful and vulnerable filly, who anypony would love to protect. Basically, to sum it, I just wish to protect you from harm and be your friend.'' She looked down, smiling. There's was a evident blush on the green-maned filly's face, but it didn't distract Ruby. ''So, Banana. I just want to know that you are happy, and not suffering. Silver, me and my friends can handle, but I get the feeling that your sadness doesn't originate from him, does it.''

Once again, Banana froze. Her body shuddered, as a rip formed on the very back of her vest that didn't go unnoticed by Ruby. But, before the pink filly could question what was causing the rip, Banana ran off out of the schoolhouse, terrified. Ruby gasped, reaching her hoof out in a attempt to stop the filly. But she was too late, Banana was already gone. She punched the white and green wall beside her, splinters getting into her hoof; causing blood to roll down her hoof. The pain rippled through her nerves, but she ignored it. Biting her lip a bit, she glanced at the door. Her eyes widen when she saw Nyx standing there, her purple vest no longer on with her wings spread. ''What happened? I got a bit shocked when I suddenly saw Banana run out, crying. She ran behind the building and into the news press room.''

''I was trying to calmly ask her what was upsetting her.......''

''Ruby. You know as well as I that she isn't going to reveal what's going on in her life quickly. Be patient with her and I'm sure she'll reveal what's going on.'' She closed her eyes, before stepping in. Her turquoise magic closed the door behind her. ''I did see something that I hope nobody else did. But, her vest ripped off and surprisingly, she was revealed to be a alicorn. I have the idea that she isn't a pure alicorn like me and the 2 royal sisters, but a mortal alicorn like my mom, aunt and cousin.''

Ruby's eyes widen more, as she gasped. ''She's afraid of her alicorn status? That would explain the vest she wears, but why is she scared of her alicorn status and how is she an alicorn!? Your story is understandable.....with you being a....'' She quietened down before saying her next word, as to not offend the alicorn before her. ''Reincarnation.'' She then became louder, frowning. ''Your mother hid your wings to protect you. However; I get the feeling that with the case of Banana, it's different......''

Her mouth became wide. ''Diamond Tiara said something about Banana's family not being nice to her! Maybe they don't like her alicorn status and so are telling her to hide it?'' She didn't make it clear what she was implying, but she didn't like the concept of it either. ''Please tell me this isn't the case.......'' Tears rolled down her eyes as she ran past Nyx and to where Banana would be.

Walking through the dark room that was slotted under the schoolhouse wasn't easy, until Ruby was finally able to find the light switch. She blinked as the light flickered on, lighting up the room. She looked around, her eyes adjusting to the bright light. Eventually she found what she was looking for; the orange filly who was crying in the corner of the room, her head in her forehooves. Ruby frowned as she looked at the wings that were evident on Banana's side, they were clearly broken and deformed.

Stepping forward, the pink filly got closer to the sobbing alicorn before her. The sound of the hoofsteps caused the filly to look up, terror written in her eyes. This took Ruby back, as she watched the filly try to hide her wings only to hear the cracks in the already fragile and broken bone. ''Hey, stop. Your gonna hurt them even more!'' She cried, not wishing the pain that she knew the filly before her was suffering.

Tears leaked out of Banana's eyes, as she finally stopped moving frantically. She was still shivering however. ''N-now you know this.....do you hate me, R-Ruby?.....'' She seemed to whimper more as she got to the last part of what she said. She looked away, tears splattering on the floor below her. ''.....I bet you do.....I'm horrible...shouldn't even exist....''

''Don't say that!'' Ruby shouted, causing the other filly to jump. She sighed, relaxing her voice. ''I'm sorry for yelling, but you aren't horrible and you deserve to exist. Who told you this, please I just want to help?'' She stepped forward, gently hugging the filly before her. Her hooves being careful around the broken wings. She took a look at the wings whilst she had a chance, one of the them was clearly in worse state then the other; being that it was hanging limp at the side of her body, whilst the other was tuck up like it should be.

''....I-I....'' whimpered Banana, as she tried to start. However, regardless on whether she wanted to or not, her fears sealed her lips as she cried more. She simply kept hold of Ruby, like her life depended on it. Perhaps it did. As Ruby started to get stroke her mane, she managed to calm herself down and whisper. ''P-please don't tell anypony......b-but.....my family isn't the nicest........they h-hurt me....'' She whimpered, as she tried to stay calm. ''When I was born....this horn were evident straight away....'' She gently tapped her horn. ''I'm not sure but apparently, there is unicorn blood in my family.......i-it caused my pony type to morph into a a-alicorn.....I may be a mortal alicorn, but I'm a alicorn regardless....''

''So, they abuse you because of your alicorn status. That isn't right, Banana. We have to tell somepony about this!'' cried Ruby, understandably shocked at the fact that the filly was abused for her horn only. ''And why hide your wings, when you could hide your horn?''

''T-they hid my wings, because it was easier too....'' Banana whimpered, before the first part clicked to her. She rapidly shocked her head, until she almost fainted from the dizziness. ''I-I can't, Ruby.......! THEY'LL KILL ME!'' She cried as the fear built up in her heart, causing her to rapidly shake. ''I just can't......please, just forget I exist......it'll be better for the both of us!''

Ruby sighed, knowing that she needed to calm the filly down. She continued to stroke the filly's mane, being wary of any protenial bruises or cuts that Banana's parents had caused. ''Is it just your parents, 'Nana?'' Banana nearly froze at the nickname, looking up at Ruby again before nodding her head to the question. ''So, do you have any other family members that could help you?''

''I have a younger brother....but he's only 2 years old; Ice Howl isn't old enough to help me.......and I fear that my p-parents......will corrupt him too...'' She shivered at the thought alone, but she was beginning to know that she could trust the filly in front of her with her secrets. ''I want to be a normal filly......a unicorn, not this alicorn with crippled wings....'' She began to tear up once more, crying into Ruby's shoulder.

''Tonight.....'' Ruby started, as she made sure Banana was listening. ''Get your brother and escape, by whatever means. Meet me here and I'll take you to Dinky's. I would take you to mine, but I don't think it'd be a good idea for my mother to know about this.....''

''You'll have to tell Dinky?...'' whispered Banana, as she considered the idea in her mind. The only problem would be if she was caught, the punishment would be even worse then anything she had experienced before, and yep that included the time her wings were broken. She gently moved the completely damaged wing, unsure on if it could be ever healed, as she manged to slot it back into the location it should be on the side of her body.

''I will......but I'm sure that she won't tell anypony that we don't want told. Obviously, her mom and big sister are going to have to know, but I believe that's it.'' Feeling the orange filly nod, she relaxed. ''Now, just make sure that you escape by whatever means. Even if you can't bring Ice with you, just get out of there. I don't want to see you hurt anymore, alright?''

''O-okay, I got it, Ruby...'' She shivered, unsure on how she was going to be able to pull this off and feared the results. Her wings even shivered along with her, knowing that the target wouldn't be the wings this time. Her eyes briefly glanced up at her horn as she whimpered softly. ''I hope this works.....''

''Me too...'' whispered Ruby. ''Come on, we need to get back to class. I'll inform Miss Cheerilee about Silver, so he cannot bully you again.'' She got Banana to look at her, and smiled when she finally saw the orange filly's sweet and beautiful smile. 'She's so beautiful.....why does this have to happen to her?.....'

Escape

As Banana walked through the Ponyville streets; she shivered and grimaced as the skies above her cracked. Pulling her torn vest more over her back, so that the rip wasn't evident. She teared up as she looked at the sky. ''It's gonna rain......'' She muttered, frowning. Looking around her, she sighed. ''Not gonna get back...there in time......'' She looked down at her hooves, noticing some cuts that obvious Ruby hadn't spotted during their chat earlier. They seemed to start bleeding on notice alone, she sighed. Pulling a bit of the vest fabric, she formed a bandage to put around it, which she secured with magic.

Coming towards the outskirts of Ponyville, Banana finally relaxed a little. Well, she did until the rain finally decided to fall down. Her green mane began to stick to her face like creepy green worms. She sighed, forcing her hooves to run so she could get to shelter. As much as she hated her 'home', she also hated rain as it always meant something bad was gonna happen. She teared up a bit, as she began to think of her parents' reactions to her broken vest. ''How am I gonna hide it......'' She whimpered, as the image of Ruby Pinch popped in her mind. ''Ruby, help......''

Eventually the sight of her house came into view, the 2 story building loomed over her. As she stepped closer, noise from the inside reached her ears. The sounds included her younger brother's laughing and her father typing away on his computer. Banana always knew she had strong hearing, even though she was weak in many over things. She walked up to the door, shivering. She pushed open the door a notch and looked into the room. She breathed in relief when she saw that nopony was around. She gently walked inside, staying as quiet as possible. She looked around before slowly darting up at the staircase. She sneaked into her bedroom, grabbing the key that she had stolen a couple of weeks before and locked the door. Whilst she knew that her parents rarely came into her room, she rather be on the safe side whilst she sorted out how she was going to get her and Ice Howl out of this hell-hole of a home.

She glanced down at the key after she placed it back on her dresser. The key had been used lots of times to lock her in her bedroom, but obviously the key and lock weren't magic-proof because her parents didn't know she could use magic. With a lot of effort, she managed to use her magic to teleport the key and lock into her room, without unlocking the door at the same time. Of course, she'd place them back when her parents planned to lock her up so they wouldn't notice that she had stolen them.

''Now.....how...?'' She whispered. She then glanced at her bedroom window and then at her wings. ''Maybe, if I have enough strength.....'' She got onto her bed and jumped, making sure not to make any noise that would arouse her parents. Opening her wings was a problem, but eventually she glided to the ground without any pain or noise. ''Okay, that works.....just gotta be careful when carrying Ice...'' She grabbed a piece of paper with her magic and jotted down some ideas. ''Probably should steal mother's baby carrier.''

She looked out of the window and at the rainy skies. ''I can't wait to get out of here.....'' She whispered, tearing up. She smiled through her tears and nodded, finally giving a true smile. ''Just gotta wait, it won't be too long. I'm sure.'' She hopped away from the window, hid the sketched out notes and quickly unlocked the door, placing the key and lock back in it's original location. She sat down on the bed, leaning her head on the headboard. A loud group of hoofsteps filled her ears, as her eyes widened. The door quickly slammed open, causing her to jump and shiver.

Her father was standing there, looking absolutely mad. ''What have I told you about not noticing us about you arriving! I told you this morning that you are required in the kitchen! NOW GET DOWN THERE!!'' Banana nodded rapidly, before running past her father. Tears were formed in her eyes, but she refused to let him see them. She wiped her eyes quickly before she got downstairs. Her mother was in the kitchen, making dinner and she looked as angry as her husband. Sat in a highchair was Ice Howl, his blue hair and coat were quite bland and simple but his golden eyes were just as stunning as his sister's, if only her parents realized that.

Her mother, Ice Heart, looked back at her. She snarled. ''Get to work, you ungrateful brat!!'' The orange filly nodded, with teary eyes. She walked past her brother, who looked up at her confused. ''Ice Howl, don't even talk to her.'' This only caused more tears to form in Banana's eyes, but she quickly wiped them before getting to work with her jobs.

Thankfully, she was sent upstairs after finishing all her jobs. She stayed up in her room till the night fell. She leaned against the walls of her room, listening in until she heard the sounds of snoring. She opened the door, making sure that nobody was awake that she hadn't realized when listening in. She sighed weakly, before sneaking out of her bedroom. She made sure that the door didn't slam close with her magic, before she sneaked into the nursery. She moved over to the toddler bed, where her brother was sleeping. She gently tapped him, causing the toddler to stir and look up at her curiously.

''Hey there, little one....'' She whispered, picking up the toddler. He giggled at her and tapped her nose with his hoof. She giggled gently as she picked up her mother's baby carrier. She gently laid it on her back. It was big but with her magic, she was able to secure it. She slotted the giggly toddler in the carrier, as she smiled. She looked at the window before running to it and jumped out. She looked at her brother, who looked both terrified and interested in the gliding. She landed on the ground, folding her wings in carefully to keep her brother snug. She then began to run towards the school, shivering from the night air.

As the school came into view, she smiled. But it only grew when she saw Ruby and Dinky waiting for her at the gates. She ran closer and closer, until she finally managed to hug Ruby, tearing up. ''I got out......I got out...'' She whimpered, as Ruby, whilst at first surprised, rubbed her back. ''Thanks, Ruby......'' Dinky smiled at the filly, which caused Banana to smile back. Ruby smiled at the smile, knowing it was a true one, and smiled more at the words Banana spoke. ''And you two, Dinky.....''

Ruby smiled, as Banana finally stopped hugging her. ''Did you get your brother out with you?'' The orange filly nodded, as she painfully lifted her wings to show the toddler, who giggled at the sight of the two new fillies. Ruby and Dinky awwed and giggled with the colt, who babbled and stumbled some cute words, only causing more awws. Ruby then looked up. ''You alright; don't think I can't see the bandages around your hooves?''

Banana looked down. ''I didn't get attacked tonight....b-but, these are from a a-attack from before. They just started bleeding on the way home earlier, so I wrapped them up.....'' Ruby nodded and asked if she could check the wounds. ''O-okay...'' The alicorn whispered, as she removed the bandages. Ruby's eyes scanned over the cuts, checking how deep they were and the blood lost levels. She sighed, looking up at the nervous green-maned filly.

She closed her eyes, before gently placing a hoof on the filly's shoulder. ''Banana, I can tell that they are just cut marks.........did you actually attempt suicide?....'' She spoke softly, frowning. She looked up at Banana, who whimpered and shivered. ''Come on, please don't lie to me, sweetie.'' All she got in reply as a jumbled mess of tears and mutters; she grimaced and hugged the filly. ''Relax, sweetie. Lets get to Dinky's, you can calm down on the way and then you can explain this. Okay?'' She got a teary nod. She smiled gently and gently stroked the filly's hair. ''Just calm down, alright?''

Dinky smiled. ''Come on. Mom and Sparkler are waiting for us to get back. Don't worry, 'Nana, all I told them was that 'I have a friend going through some issues with her family, can she stay for a bit?'. So you don't have to get mad.'' Banana nodded through her teary vision, as she looked down. Dinky frowned at the sight of the filly, as she thought. 'When Ruby told me...I couldn't believe it, but seeing her now. I very much understand that this is actually happening......the poor filly, she must have suffered for a long time.' She summoned a blanket and covered Banana with it. ''Here, you can warm up and hide your wings this way.''

''Thank you, Dinky.....'' Banana whispered, as she wrapped it around her and Ice, even if the colt was already snug. She whimpered a little as the blanket hit the more fragile parts of her wings. She didn't let the pain show too much as she walked next to Ruby, following the periwinkle unicorn. She wondered what Dinky's family was like, but at the same time she dreaded it. But only time will tell her what was to come, right?

Banana walked slowly behind the other two fillies. It was for too reasons mainly; one, she was still in pain from her wings after gliding, and two, because her brother was quite heavy and making her slow. Her mind, however, was on a rampage of thoughts to do with what Dinky's mother and sister? were like. '....I hope they're nice....' She thought slowly, trying not to let her emotions show on her face. She looked up as she realized a small cottage was coming up in a near distance. 'Guess we're here.....'

Dinky turned around, giving a small smile. ''We're here. 'Nana, time to meet my family.'' She pointed at her cottage, with a smile. Banana nodded slowly, staring at the cottage. It was small, but cozy in appearance. A mare opened the door, after she heard Dinky's voice. The unicorn filly smiled as she looked up at her mother. ''Mommy, I brought her and her younger brother like I said.''

Derpy smiled down at Banana, with her wonky golden eyes. ''Come on in, girls. I've already set out Dinky's old crib for the baby.'' Banana smiled at this, wobbly lifting her wing to look at her brother, who was already asleep. The group walked into the cottage, which seemed to be larger on the inside.

Banana looked at Dinky and asked the question on her mind, as she gently placed the blanket that had been covering her down. ''D-Dinky..why does it seem to be larger....?''

Dinky giggled to herself. ''My daddy has a love of weird technology. And his biggest invention is like a box, but it's way bigger on the inside. So he kinda crafted our home to look like this.'' She then sighed. ''I can't wait for him to come back again.'' This caused a bit of confusion to appear on Banana's face, as she put her sleeping brother down on the sofa to give herself a bit of a break. Dinky simply smiled, not answering the evident question.

Banana shrugged, deciding not to ask. She gently pulled the blanket over her brother, as she looked at Ruby. The pink unicorn had been staying relatively silent during the walk and it confused the alicorn. She slowly walked over and looked at Ruby, gently trying to get her attention. ''R-ruby?.....''

Ruby blinked into reality and sighed, looking at the young alicorn. ''It's alright. I just want an explanation for those cuts, like I ask before we started walking.''

Banana whimpered, but nodded. ''Not out in the open tho...please....'' Ruby nodded and lead Banana into the Dinky's bedroom. The orange alicorn gently placed herself on the bed, next to Ruby. The pink filly was prepared to give any sort of comfort that the alicorn needed. ''I-I m-might as well e-explain m-my entire story.....'' whispered Banana, with a shaky voice. ''..W-well.......it s-started about 9 years old.....back when I was simply a expecting foal.........that my m-mother was gonna have.......

My p-parents.......didn't e-expect......me to be a a-alicorn, of course........they t-thought that I was s-simply gonna be a p-pegasus as the s-scans suggested...but when I was born, there was a c-clear horn peeking out of my head.......s-something that the scans had missed as it was smaller then a-average, much like my d-deformed wings......being a odd mix of genes, my horn and wings just simply didn't develop to their correct sizes...'' She shivered a little, trying to continue. ''T-they hated me from the m-moment my horn was d-discovered......W-we lived in Cloudsdale at the time......M-my parents kept me l-locked in my room so nobody discovered me.....as it'd look weird if a unicorn could walk naturally on the clouds.....and according to them, trying to hide my horn was too much of a hassle.....

I wasn't sent to s-school due to this....and my p-parents got me doing all of their chores for them........I n-never got praised or congratulated for a-anything.......my first word, meet with a 'shut up', my first use of magic was meet with a long speech about how magic was wrong.......and my first f-flight lead my wings to be b-broken as they didn't want me to be able to fly, so t-they could h-hide my w-wings....'' Now Banana was shaking, causing Ruby to gently hug her and whisper calming things into her ear. She managed to bring herself to continue, despite a few tears leaking down her face. ''....Nothing I did pleased them in the slightest.......I wanted to please t-them so badly, make them love me. I even tried to cut my o-own horn off! B-but I couldn't do it as it felt like I was giving up part of my self........'' She was full-on crying now into Ruby's shoulder. ''I began to think what they're saying was true.....that I shouldn't exist or that I was a waste of space.........I cut my hooves in attempt to die, but I wasn't able to continue.......I lost a fair amount of blood, but n-nothing came about it........

All that ever h-happens is due to the wounds incorrectly h-healing, due to the l-lack of attention that my parent's gave to me or my i-injuries, is that they would reopen.....at the slightest of movement.....T-they may only be scars, but they are damaged s-scars due to the amount of abuse that's been on them......'' She couldn't continue, as she simply hiccuped and sobbed. ''W-why.....why couldn't I have a loving family like Dinky or you......''

Ruby frowned, it was quite heavy the toil that the alicorn had to live with. She gently rubbed the girl's back, being careful of her wings. ''Shh, it is okay. You're away from them now. We can help you get a family, who will love you.'' She continued to rub the other filly's back, trying to calm her down with little success. She simply decided to wait until Banana cried herself to sleep, which she eventually did. Ruby sighed and gently used her magic to tug the blanket up and over the sleeping alicorn. She walked over to the light switch and gently turned the lights off, taking one last look at the filly, who was still crying in her sleep. ''Poor thing.....''

She walked out of the room and was instantly greeted with Dinky's sad face. The periwinkle filly sighed and muttered. ''I overheard what Banana's said and it didn't sound good at all........'' Ruby nodded in agreement. The two fillies sat down the sofa, which had once had Icy Howl's laying, but Derpy had taken him to the crib that had been set up. ''We need to get her a loving family and soon.....the poor girl. From what I heard, she's contemplated killing herself over the fact she felt like she didn't need to exist?.....''

''Yea......we need to get her to understand she does have a right to exist and that her parents don't have the right to say that, after all they have done to her.......'' Ruby growled with frustration, her hoof visibly shaking. ''This never should have happened to her.......if I hadn't pressured her to out of there, how long would she have survived?.....Before they killed or she killed herself.....''

''Ruby. I get your upset, but you need to calm down so we can think of a plan. She isn't going back there and that's for certain. When I said to her that I hadn't told my mom the full details, it was a lie to keep her calm. I needed to know if my mom was willing to take her in. But, due to a lack of space. Me and Sparkler might as well share a room; but luckily, Sparkler tends to stay at her friends or with the fillies that she foalsits. She's foalsitting Tootsie at the moment, but Tootsie doesn't mind as she sees Sparkler as her older sister......'' She sighed, going back to her original topic. ''But as for what mom said, we can't keep her for long. Only until she finds a new family.....''

Ruby sighed. ''Thanks for trying, Dinks. We need to help her and soon. We'll get the group together tomorrow and even speak with the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I think Nyx will be able to help us as she was the first to realize Banana's status and I want to get Diamond's advice as she has a overbearing mother, so might come in handy to know what we may have to deal with.'' She looked at the bedroom door. ''She cried herself to sleep, so there is a lot of weight on her. I was to remove some of that weight and allow her to be happy. Her smiles are so beautiful after all....''

Dinky nodded gently. ''That is true....oh well, lets just sleep on it. I'll take the sofa, you take your sleeping bag and stay by her side.'' She pulled the blanket that she had given Banana earlier that night and laid down. ''See you in the morning.....'' She settled down and fell to sleep on the sofa.

Ruby sighed, walking back into the bedroom slowly and quietly. She picked up her sleeping bag and set it on the floor. She glanced at Banana, who looked a bit calmer now. She smiled and got into the sleeping bag, before letting sleep take her over. Her last thought of the night was that Banana would receive a new family.
