Blurriness entered my vision, fighting for focus. Muffled yelling slipped into my ears, blocking out everything of unimportance. The smell of burnt flesh blew through my nasal passages, reeking like a dead animal. A rough, copper taste was finding it`s way up my throat and out my mouth. Tubes, connected to machines, dug deep into my hooves, filling me with blood and other fluids. A plastic mask buried my muzzle in oxygen, sending my soul to the ethereal realm of dreams...

Smoke hissed through my teeth and muzzle, finding freedom in the air. I inhaled again, my cigarette glowing faintly at the tip. The smoke entered my lungs and was exited via the same way. Ever since my Mom started smoking, I was exposed to second hand smoke and got addicted.

Oh yeah, My name is Brisk. My mother`s name is Lipton. Father died in the on-going war, sacrificing his life for the cause. Life`s been rough, barely scraping by, day-and-day. When the war started, Trottingham`s economy went down quick. Ponies were living off of unemployment, and you would run into ponies begging for change in the streets. Most would, just pass by... Not me.

When the Ministry of Peace was formed, I took after their leader: Fluttershy. 'Do better, Be kind' is what she says, and I will stay true to those words until I die. Their the Ministry who helps out in the battlefield, medical wise. They even help out the enemy! For me, Fluttershy could not do anything wrong. She was one out of six Ministries, though.

But that`s another story for another time. I need to get my great grandpa`s house. His name is Raspberry Tea, if you`re wondering. He`s the one who always kept telling us everything would be fine. I sure hope so, this war is getting out of hoof. After Father died, I didn`t have much respect for the war anymore.

It all started over coal. Coal. Thousands of ponies died over a mineral, including my Dad. Apparently, we were being unfair to the Zebras with our deals and we didn`t do anything, so... yeah you know what happens next.

I turned the corner, smelling smoke. My cigarette isn`t lit. I looked up to see my Grandpa`s house burning down, smoke pouring out of windows. Instinct took over and I ran head-first into the house. After fighting through the smoke, I saw my Grandpa on the ground, laying limp. I rushed over, my hoof getting caught on a piece of burning wood.

I screamed at the pain, The burning sensation melted away my fur, soon singing off flesh. I reached with my free hoof at my Grandpa, inches away from his own hoof. More smoke poured out, the fires growing bigger-and-bigger. I coughed, the smoke filling my lungs, blocking out fresh air. As oxygen left my body, growing weaker and weaker, I could only think of what my Father said to me once:

"You`re destined to do great things, those things are up to you..."

Chapter One: Discovery

View Online

Two Hundred Years Later...

My labored breathing came into earshot. I slowly opened my eyes, dust automatically seen flying around the room. I reached a hoof up to my eyes, wiping them thoroughly. My silver coat was glistening in the light, tubes connected to my hooves; blood flowing through them and into my body. The lights flickered, barely emanating any light.

The machines beeped furiously, detecting radiation. Radiation? Probably used to heal me, or something. "Doctor? Doctor, Hello?" I called out. No response. Fine, I`ll just get him myself. I pulled the tubes out, blood pouring out of them. I ripped the blanket off of me, sliding out of the hospital bed.

As soon as I stepped off the bed, I slipped; falling on the ground. "Nurse! Nurse!" I yelled out, my voice raspy and I overall was dead. I took my time, one hoof at a time. After a couple minutes, I found myself standing again. My steps felt like I was walking down stairs and I missed a step. I walked slow, pushing open the door.

More lights flickered, papers everywhere, and there was Nopony around. I looked side-to-side, glancing down the hall. I decided on going right, maybe finding somepony. I spotted a desk, no lights at all covering it. I walked up, looking over it. Nopony. Where is everypony? I walked around, pulling open a cabinet. Inside was a weird looking watch. It was Giant! I picked it up with my hooves. Thank Celestia for Earth pony magic!

Written on the side was Pipbuck 3000. I slipped it over my left hoof, the cushion inside it making it comfortable. The screen flickered on, displaying all sorts of information. Running diagnostics, Stand by... Diagnostics complete, Rebooting, Stand by... Reboot successful, Running S.A.T.S., Stand by... S.A.T.S. at full capacity. After all that happened, it stated my name and all my vitals.

Radiation detected, suggesting leaving the area immediately. Blood pressure is vital, suggesting immediate medical attention. Okay, so listen to the fancy watch. I looked up, seeing a barred door. I started walking over to it, my steps starting to ease up. I reached the door, wooden barriers blocking it. I looked to my sides, noticing that the left side was locked. Guess it`s the right we`re going!

I brushed my teal mane out of my eyes. I seriously need to cut it. My Pipbuck beeped, making me look down at it. Enemies near by, it read. When I looked up, there was a compass and red bars glowing on it. Okay, whoever has this thing, is the luckiest pony ever! Wait, enemies? I squinted, trying to spot the 'enemies'. Down the hall was a roughed up pony, clothing with blood stains covering it; worst of all: It has a gun... and aimed at me.

A bullet flew past me, striking the wall behind me. I took cover behind a hospital bed, after I flipped it, of course. Another shot ringed in my ears, the bullet hitting the bed I was currently residing behind. I looked around, searching for something to defend myself with. I glanced to my left, to see a switchblade. Who carries a switchblade in a hospital. No time for logic! I scooped it up with earth pony accuracy, pulling the switch. The blade winged open, shining under the light hanging above me.

I peeked over the bed, almost getting shot in the process. I slumped back down, thinking for a way to approach this. Maybe? I extended my backlegs back, my forelegs up against the bed. I pushed as hard as I could, the blankets getting filled with lead. I glanced over quickly, to see the 'pony' getting closer-and-closer. Finally, I slammed the bed into it, the pony getting knocked down. I jumped over the bed, readying my knife. Let`s try S.A.T.S, shall we? I clicked S.A.T.S, time slowing almost to a halt.

I noticed I could target 'it'. I planted three hits on the pony, and hit enter. Time resumed to it`s original pace, and I sliced the pony. The roughed up raider`s, I`ll call it, neck gushed blood out. Blood spurt out, flying all over my hospital gown. I...Killed somepony. I killed somepony! I backed up, leaving the limp body to rest. My back hit a wall, I slid down to the ground.

Even if they tried to kill me, they were still a pony! Wait, why did it have a gun? Guns aren`t permitted in Trottingham, and why did it have blood stains all over it? I stood up, walking over to the now-dead pony. Laying there on the ground was a sawed-off shotgun, my Pipbuck told me. I picked it up, holding it in my hooves. I might need this, in-case I run into another raider. I pulled back the trigger, the gun blasting back; and a bullet flying out the barrel.

I slipped it into my Patient gown pocket. I searched the body for ammo. Though I did gag when doing so. I also slipped that into my pocket. I held up my switchblade. I`ll call it 'Brisk`s Toothpick'! I held that in my mouth, after all, you can`t walk and hold a knife. I wish. I continued down the hall, watching my E.F.S, I found it was called. I think it really meant 'Eyes Forward Sparkle'. This Pipbuck is awesome and I`ll never get rid of it!

I walked down the dark hall way, searching for a way out. This hospital is big! They need to make a law, where you can`t make a building this big. It`s just unfair. I stumbled upon a pair of saddlebags, the leather still intact. I ditched my hospital gown and slipped the saddlebags on, my gun and ammo making it`s new home in it. After that, I turned the corner. Three red bars entered my E.F.S, and I pulled out the shotgun.

They were zombies! In light of this info, I immediately started aiming and shot. The bulled whizzed past it, hitting the door behind it. Yes, a door! I aimed down the sight, exhaled and shot. The shot was successful, resulting in the zombie`s head exploding into messy brain matter. The other two screeched loudly, and charged. I did the same thing again, the same result: a dead zombie. Rinse. Repeat. After four shots, lay three dead zombies.

I searched the dead zombies, (It actually did make me vomit). I was surprised to see them carrying bottlecaps. Now that I remember, the raider was holding them as well. Maybe they`re important or something. I dumped them into my saddlebags, my Pipbuck sorting and organizing them. That`s a cool feature. After scavenging around for something useful, I exited the hall. And into a office. So much for an exit. Sitting behind the desk was a skeleton, quite immediately I noticed it was wearing a doctor`s coat.

I walked behind the desk, practically tearing it apart. After pulling the coat of the skeleton, a note hit the ground. Or some kind of metal square thing. I picked it up, scanning it. Soon after, I heard bleep from Pipbuck, indicating that it downloaded to it. Cool. I searched around on the fancy watch, until I found what I was looking for: Notes. I pressed that, bringing me to the recently acquired note. I clicked 'view' and it popped up.

Dear Doctor Flameheart,
Your recent medical research is going over budget. We suggest you stop your pursuing and give up. The results from it are already catastrophic, making more sick patients. We are ceasing your funding shortly. Sorry, you failed us.

Sincerely,
Crazz.

Crazz? Medical Research? I violently searched the room, looking for notes or something, regarding Crazz and Flameheart`s medical research. Nothing. I exited the room, leaving it to decay in peace. What is going on? Is this going on because of the 'medical research'. The zombies? The Raider? I settled on my haunches, trying to comprehend this. I started to notice every window was closed. Weird.

I rubbed the back of my teal mane, it was itching furiously. What year is it anyway? I looked down at my Pipbuck, hoping it has a date function. After switching through files and looking, I finally found it.

8/27/77

It`s been two-hundred years? How am I still alive? I was in a coma all that time? Everypony I ever knew is dead, Mom, Grandpa. Does that mean the war ended? Has it finally ended? Everything can finally go back to normal, once I make it out of here.

I don`t have time to think everything over, I need to get out of here. I pushed myself up, brushing myself off. My silver coat was getting covered in dust, and it itched. As I started looking around for an exit, I thought. What happened while I was in my coma? What could possibly happen in two hundred years? If I remember correctly from the radio reports, the zebras tried to assassinate Princess Celestia, but the war hero Big Macintosh blocked the shot.

The Ministry of Arcane Sciences took over Splendid Valley, making it a mass production gem facility. Or was it a factory? Or a Mine? Anyway, the Diamond Dogs got kicked out because of the M.A.S. gem factories. After that...Wait. I can`t remember it. Pain entered my head as memories of the war started popping up in my head. Images of balefire bombs dropping in Manehattan and Ponyville alike, Cloudsdale being destroyed. Bombs dropping in Canterlot, the Princessess dying. Ponies burning, and dying, the kill count in the millions. The world ended...

The pain ended and so did the memories. What happened? Bombs...dropped? Wait that means...

I pushed open a door, the label of exit above it peeling away. The light blinded my eyes, burning them. I lifted my hoof up to cover them, blocking out the light to the best of my abilities. After a couple minutes, I lowered my hoof; my eyes adjusting to the brightness. My Pipbuck beeped faster and faster by the minute as I stood there and stared out in the distance. The world really did end...and I survived it...

Chapter Two: Wasteland

View Online

As I stared out at the destroyed land in front of me, I could only think of one thing: Why? What happened in the war, to make them blow up the world? My knees gave out from under me, making me tumble down a hill. My hooves scraped and slashed up against pieces of shrapnel and scrap metal, creating new wounds. When I reached the bottom, I just laid there. Blood slowly rushed out of my cuts, finding the ground.

Everypony I ever knew...is dead. Gone. Without a trace, their remains probably laying somewhere in the wasteland bestowed before me. Tears streamed from my eyes, and down my face; dropping onto the ground. I`m alone. Alone, in this forgotten land, where thousands of ponies died in balefire. Why me? How come I`m the one to survive? Why me? Salty tears ran down my face, wetting my fur.

As I laid there, minutes became hours. It got darker-and-darker, until eventually the moon was hanging in the sky. My Pipbuck clicked, a small light replacing the screen. The light surrounded me, covering me in a bright circle. I curled up into a tight ball for warmth. The Pipbuck beeped faster-and-faster, stating temperature levels are too low. Frost took over my body, making me shiver; my teeth chattered in my mouth.

Soon, music came into earshot; emanating polka or something. I looked up to see a bloatsprite, except it was a robot. It hovered above me, playing music. The music stopped, and a metallic voice played out. "What are you doing out in the cold?" It`s voice showed care, which was weird considering it was a robot. "You can freeze to death."

"What`s the point? Everypony I ever knew is dead." I said, my teeth chattering to the bone.

"That`s not an excuse for dying." It said, it`s voice still...not robotic somehow.

"I woke up from a coma, I apparently was in for two hundred years. Found out the world blew up, and here I am." I said, gesturing to myself with my hooves. "Who are you, anyway?"

"My name is Watcher." It said.

"You watch stuff?"

"No, that`s just my name."

"Brisk. Nice to know that not everything is trying to kill me." I said sarcastically.

"Little advice: If you want to survive, you may want to get out of the cold. Also, make some friends." Watcher said. Friends? I didn`t know you can make friends in the apocalypse. I stood up, brushing off dirt. I swatted my mane out of my eyes, brushing it to the side. "And lastly: Find your virtue." I went to question him, but the music switched back on, and he flew into the distance.

Virtue? Friends? Since I don`t know what my virtue is, I`ll just try to find friends. Friendship is Magic. I looked at my compass, it notifying me of different locations. I`ll...pick...this one! I started off in the direction of the randomly chosen location and smiled; despite the situation...

I dodged to the left, seconds away from getting a knife in the face. I reared up to the wall, pushing off it with my hindlegs; slamming into the pony. Grabbing him as we hit the ground, I pulled his hoof outward; an audible cracking sound could be heard. He screamed in agony, pushing me off him with his uninjured hoof. I landed on my back, dust flying around me. I stood up, pulling out my 'toothpick'. I slowly walked up to him, my switchblade held tightly in my teeth`s grasp. I crouched down, my face inches away from his. "Why?"

When he didn`t respond, I punched him in the muzzle; blood spitting out his mouth. I brushed myself off, and stood up. As I walked away from him, I smiled. I feel good! I pushed the manor`s doors open, sunlight blasting me in the face immediately. I shot a glance at my Pipbuck for locations. There`s one close to here, exactly a couple miles. Yeah, 'close'. I pulled out my sawed off shotgun, cocking it and slipped it back in. I have the urge to drink alcohol for some reason, and cuss like a sailor. Weird.

I wonder if there`s a radio station. I slowed down, looking at my Pipbuck. After shifting through several sections of my fancy watch, I found 'Radioactive Radio' Funny. I clicked on it and was greeted with a rough stallion voice. "Now for ponies out in Trottingham, watch out for Raiders. They seem to love the old highway. Until somepony clears them out, stay away from there. This is Redbelt with Radioactive Radio."

Okay, then. I looked up to see a broken down highway. Oh, luck. You fucked me over too many times! A bullet hit the ground next to me, prompting me to get out of there! I galloped over to a rusted wagon, it`s wheels missing and half of it`s front is destroyed. Great cover. I rushed pulling out my shotgun, making me drop it. Maybe S.A.T.S can help? I activated it, but it denied, returning me to regular time. "Oh come on!" I screamed, all while I was getting shot at.

I peeked over, shot, and slipped back down. Seconds later, I heard a scream. Welp, that was lucky. For once. My E.F.S indicated seven red dots, all of them clustered up together. Oh Wonderful! Wind blew past me, my mane and tail swaying around in it. Maybe I can run to the left, shoot, and flank? Let`s try! I reloaded real quick, my shells flying out and my new ones popping in and finding their position. I exhaled, my mind running million miles-a-second. I ran to the far left, dodging bullets and returning them with more accuracy than I knew I had. Both shells were shot, and by the time that was, I was fighting hoof-to-knife combat with a raider.

He was wearing brass-hooves, both glistening copper and well crafted. They were both to be used against me. I pulled out my switchblade, it`s silver blade shining in the radioactive sun. He raised his hoof up, striking me in the face with it. A painful sensation entered, and it would not leave. I sliced the hoof he hit me with, his fur getting cut off. Bliss was in my body as soon as I realized Luck was in my favor. I grabbed him by the neck, furiously slitting his throat. Blood spurt out the gash, covering me in his life juice. I dropped him, his limp body hitting the ground with a thump. I glanced up, a raider aiming it`s gun at me. I quickly threw my knife at her, it`s blade sinking into her face. She landed, her gun carried to her grave.

I retrieved my switchblade, and snatched the gun as well. Thick blood covered the blade, staining the silver material. I dumped it in my saddlebags and decided on using my new toy. I pulled back the bolt, the gun clicking afterwards. I trotted torwards three other red dots, still standing in the same position. I grinned and hurried up, anticipating my arrival. Once up, I was immediately shot at. I returned a few shots, two of them chipping off blocks of concrete behind them. The remaining shots struck one of them in the chest, the bullet puncturing his skins and maybe one of his ribs. I cocked it and shot, striking another raider in the head. The last one took off, his hooves carrying him away from me. I smiled and pursued after him.

Dirt kicked up, practically soaking me with it. "I`m sorry! I was just kidding!" He screamed in front of me, still a couple feet away from me. He tripped, his hooves getting caught in a barrage of rocks. As he struggled for escape, I approached; smiling like a filly on Heart`s Warming Eve. He looked up, his pupils shrinking a mass amount. That made me smile even more. He rushed, his hooves trying to quickly escape from the cluster of rocks.

"Maybe... you shouldn`t have shot at me." I said as I sat next to him, reloading my gun.

"Please! I have a filly at home! And a wife! And a dog!" He pleaded, tears streaking down his face. I continued reloading, still concentrating on my rifle of death. Something cold and hard pressed up against my head, pushing through mane and onto the back of my head. I frowned. I never been in this situation before.

"Let him go." Came a calm, soft voice. I seriously couldn`t tell if it was a mare or stallion. The raider nodded and pulled out his hooves out, after struggling a couple times. How come he couldn`t do that while I was reloading? He stood up and ran, tripping along the way. Some things never change I guess. The gun was pulled from my head, then I was wacked in the head with it. I hit the ground, my eyes slowly closing. As blackness entered from the corners of my eyes, a mare with an orange coat and autumn mane came into view. Blackness consumed my eyes, and I fell unconscious...

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.

Pain entered from my head, I felt like there was a second heart in my head. I reached up to my head to rub it, feeling a thick, warm liquid sliding down my face. It took me a couple seconds to adjust, to realize I was hanging upside down; both of my hindlegs tied up and connected to a raptor on the ceiling. Fantastic. It`s times like these when I wish I had a Snickers Bar. I wonder if there is any left? Right, back to the matter at hoof. I reached up with my hooves, inches away from the rope. I slumped back down, blood still sliding down my face and onto the floor.

"Good. You`re awake." Came that same calm, sweet voice. It sounded like if it was a liquid, it would taste like syrup. The lights flashed on, temporarily blinding me. I raised my hoof up to cover my eyes, the brightness burning my retinas. After a moment, I got used to it and looked forward. Standing there was a mare, a sun orange coat and an autumn green mane. She looked at me, her eyes staring into me; almost if she can read my thoughts. She looked down at my cutie mark with interest. My cutie mark was a tree. It`s leaves consisting of all the colors: Green, brown, orange, red, and yellow. It meant my fascination for the environment. Something that`s gone in this world, sadly.

"What do you want?" I asked, still struggling with the restraints.

"You were going to kill that stallion. I saved his life." She said, not missing a single beat.

"He tried to kill me. He was shooting at me and it was justice."

"Sometimes, not everything has to resort to violence. He was trapped and would not escape."

"Well, now he`s going to go kill more people." I said, throwing up my hooves up in protest.

"You don`t know that." She said, looking at me with those emotionless eyes.

"I... Um... Well." She has a point. Not everypony in the world is trying to kill me. Watcher didn`t try to kill me, and if she wanted to; I would`ve been dead by now. "Still, what do you want from me?" I refrained from struggling, making her think I trust her.

"I need your help."

"My help? I woke up yesterday from a coma, what possibly could you need help with when you`re asking me?" I desperately asked.

"There`s something I need. And I can`t do it alone. You will get paid, but you can walk away now." She proceeded to cut me down, which resulted in me falling down and getting hurt. Yay! More Pain! I rubbed my back, trying to relieve the pain.

"What do you need help with?" I asked, slowly making my way off the ground.

"In due time. As for right now, you need some better gear." She said, pointing to my stuff in the corner.

"What`s wrong with my gear?"

"Everything. Welcome to the Wasteland."

Chapter Three: Forgotten

View Online

I slipped my scarf up, covering my mouth in warm cloth. I crouched down, my sawed off shotgun practically welded into my teeth. My desperado hat sat atop my head, coating my teal mane. I slowly approached the raider, completely oblivious to my presence. I reared up behind her, snapping her neck in one quick moment. Her limp body hit the ground, flies buzzing around it. I scrounged up whatever I could find from her and moved on. I glanced around the abandoned and destroyed shopping mall, shops and stands littered about. It makes me sad, knowing I once shopped here, and here it stands: forgotten by time.

The mare asked me to look around, and scavenge for whatever I could find. My hooves clopped on the cold ground, echoing throughout the entirety of the shopping center. I`m slowly getting used to the fact that the world is destroyed. I just need to get over it, there`s nothing I could have done to prevent it. I wonder why I survived, though. I mentally hit myself, back to the matter at hoof. I peeked around, looking around for anything worth any value. She said she`s really looking for tech, or anything that has anything to do with machines. Kinda hard to find stuff that works in the apocalypse.

As I looked around, I started to hear hoof steps. The clip-clopping started to make me paranoid. It got louder-and-louder, until they stopped directly outside of the shop I was in. I cocked my shotgun, ready for the threat in front of me. My E.F.S says it`s a friendly. I approached the door, my hoof reaching for the knob. I pushed it open, my gun in my mouth. Standing there was a familiar orange and green mare. "Jeez, you almost made me shoot you in the face." I loudly whispered.

"Sorry to scare you. Have you found anything?" She said, gesturing to my saddlebags. I unstrapped my saddlebags, setting them on the ground. I pulled open the flap, digging through my bags like it was Nightmare Night candy. I pulled out a flashlight, dirt and scratches scattered around on it, a peculiar looking rifle, green energy surging through it and into the tip, and lastly: A rusty old Pipbuck.

"It`s all I found. Had to kill a raider to get past, though." I said, pointing to the stash of tech laying In front of me. She stared a long awhile at the rifle though, studying it. Eventually, she scooped up the stash of tech and dumped them in her saddlebags. She blinked, scanning around our surroundings. She raised up her hoof, silently telling me to be quiet. A faint beeping came into my hearing, growing louder-and-louder. I know that sound...

I tackled her, the explosion barely missing us. Fire and shrapnel rained down, bathing us in it. Bullets started flying, striking the cold, hard shopping mall floor. I stood up, and immediately crouched down, trying not to get filled with lead. A bullet hit a speaker, triggering a song to come on. The song emanated out the speaker, almost drowning out the gunshots.

Yippie, Yay!
There`ll be no wedding bells for today!

I slid out my sawed-off shotgun, sliding in shells. The mare pulled out a hunting rifle, cocking it. I finished reloading and peeked over the railing we dove behind, firing blindly. They returned the shots, occasionally hitting the railing or the wall behind us.

I got spurs, that jingle, jangle, jingle!
As I go ridin` merrily along!
And they sing, ain`t you glad you`re single!
And that song ain`t so far from wrong!

"What`s your name?" I asked, trying desperately to hit somepony.

"Dove. Yours?" She replied over the shooting.

"Brisk."

Oh, Lillie belle!
Oh, Lillie belle!
Though I may have done some foolin`!
This is why I never fell!

Finally, a shell hit one of them, puncturing their flesh and into their heart. A raider reared up behind us, and I threw my knife; it striking him in the eye. He hit the ground, blood pouring out and around my knife. I continued firing, sometimes getting lucky hits on somepony. Dove fired slowly, striking with precision.

I got spurs, that jingle, jangle, jingle!
As I go ridin` merrily along!
And they sing, ain`t you glad you`re single!
And that song ain`t so far from wrong!

A bullet struck me in the hoof. A painful, burning sensation entered, coating my entire hoof in pure agony. I ignored it, focusing on the battle, I`m determined to win. Bullets flew back-and-forth, covering the air in heat.

I got spurs, that jingle, jangle, jingle!
I got spurs, that jingle, jangle, jingle!
As I go ridin` merrily along!
As I go ridin` merrily along!
And they sing, ain`t you glad you`re single!
And they sing, ain`t you glad you`re single!
And that song ain`t so far from wrong!
And that song ain`t so far from wrong!

I dropped my shotgun, it`s barrels bented above repair. I pulled out my assault rifle, it`s magazine shining in the light. I pulled the handle back, and let it go; it quickly sliding back into position. I aimed down the sights, the gun fixed on a raider`s head. I exhaled and fired, the raider`s head reacting violently; his brain matter splattering all over the wall behind him.

Oh, Lillie belle!
Oh, Lillie belle!
Though I may have done some foolin`!
This is why I never fell!

I strafed over to a turned over stand, it`s counter shielding me from incoming fire. I blindly returned the shots, striking the walls and if I`m lucky, a raider. As my magazine slowly emptied, Dove continued firing sharply. I swear, she has not missed on shot. Yet...

I got spurs, that jingle, jangle, jingle!
As I go ridin` merrily along!
And they sing, ain`t you glad you`re single!
And that song ain`t so far from wrong!

The song ended abruptly, leaving the mall shrouded in silence. Bodies and bullet casings lay on the ground, both empty in contents. Dove stopped firing, her hoof remaining on the trigger. I lowered my gun, the magazine empty. The clip hit the ground, the metal clunking against the ground. I let out a breath I didn`t know I was holding. "It could`ve been worse." I said, shrugging my shoulders.

"Besides the fact that we could have died." Dove replied, not missing a single beat. I glowered at her.

"We didn`t though." I said, desperately trying to lighten the mood. The little time I spent with Dove, I learned that she is one for the truth and the facts. Maybe I should stick with her...

"We still need more... stuff." She said 'stuff', like she is disgusted by the word. I mouthed 'okay', and started off to the left, find something valuable. As I walked, I stared around. Everything was forgotten, abandoned as soon as the world ended, leaving a lifeless carcass of a once great location of friendship and fellowship.

I crouched down near a dead body, the flesh rotting away slowly. I sighed annoyingly, dreading this a whole lot. I lowered my hoof, digging through the remains` saddlebags. I felt something cold and small, rounded with sharp edges. I scooped it into my hoof, holding in the underside of my hoof. I pulled my hoof out. Bottlecaps. Dove told me they`re money and to find as many as I could. Don`t understand why ponies don`t use bits anymore. I dumped it into my saddlebags and entered the remains again, searching for something else.

I gave up looking for something individual and just snatched the saddlebags, dumping the contents on the ground. A piece of paper landed silently, crumpled and burned on the corner. I reached my hoof down, grabbing it and unfolded it, straightening it out.

Dear Crazz,
We did want you wanted, the rainbow maned mare got it alright. She shouldn`t be stealing anymore supplies from us anymore. You said something about a cargo job? Anyway, the Ministry of Morale have been cracking down on us, so we`ll pay the pink mare a visit as well.

From,
Frock.

I blinked in surprise. Crazz, the same pony from the hospital note. Maybe, the Ministry of Awesome was funding Doctor Flameheart for the medical research, but he went over their funding budget an Crazz got involved. I slipped the note into my saddlebags, and looked back down at the ground. A glowing orb sat there, emanating a small white light. That wasn`t there before. I glanced around, looking for the pony who placed it there.

I picked it up, studying it. After a couple minutes of staring at it, It started hurting my eyes and I dropped it into my saddlebags. I stood up, my hooves cracking. Wow, I`ve been sitting that long. I swatted my mane out of my eyes, a few teal hairs gliding down towards the floor. I trotted around, looking for Dove; hoping she knows who Crazz is. I slowed down, shooting a glance at my Pipbuck. According to my fancy watch, she should be over here. I walked in the direction of the blue dot, keeping watch for red dots.

I felt a stinging sensation in my neck, slowly making my way down the rest of my body. Before I knew it, my body became numb and paralyzed. I dropped to the ground, my hooves incapable of moving. I desperately tried shifting my hooves, but found no prevail. Ponies in leather armor came into my vision, tying my hooves together. They talked to each other, but muffled by rusty-colored gas masks. One pony crouched down to eye level and said:

"Looks like you were forgotten, little mare."

Dear readers, I made the decision to end this story. I rushed this out too fast and I don`t like rushing my stories. But don`t worry, I will be making a new Fallout Equestria, but I will finish it before I release it. Brisk will be coming back and hopefully this chapter was a good ending... for now.

I hope you understand and it pains me to end one of my stories. Thank you for the favorites and likes, comments, etc. They help me grow as a writer and mean a lot to me. If you`re wondering, the next Fallout Equestria I`m doing will be in New Pegasus. I enjoyed New Vegas and personally think it`s a good location. Trottingham will return as a location for the protagonist to travel to. I`m sorry and Thank You.
