Chapter One: Awakening Letters

View Online

Tulip's P.O.V
I awoke, my eyes fluttering open, and my hooves moving to wipe the sleep from my eyes.
I don't remember having hooves...But I really tend to just roll with things like this. It gets super strange sometimes, but
panicking would just make things so much worse, now wouldn't it? Then where would I end up?
Nowhere, I guess.
Guessing things, that's new as well. No need for panicking. See, it's all good!
I arose from the flowerbed that I seemed to have been sleeping in, it was oddly comfortable, mind you.
...I wouldn't mind sleeping in a flowerbed once in awhile...
Anyways, I looked up. On estimate, it would be about 7:38 in the morning...If I'm correct.
I looked around. It seemed like the main form in this dimension would be an equine, more specifically,
a pony... I appear to be of a young age at the moment, around the age of a filly. My mane is...
sort of a....mustard...yellow color....My coat is green....And....My eyes...Uhmm...Uh...
I looked into a window, scrunching my face up to see my reflection.
An orange type of color, I suppose...I think I'll call myself...
"Tulip Moss..."
I groaned at the absolutely terrible choice of a name. But it's not as if I can call myself 'Dew of the Blinding Snows',
now can I? Especially with this green coat, the name wouldn't fit my color scheme. I saw a few ponies with wings,
some with a horn, some with neither. I appear to be one with neither.
Strange things happen when you have no idea who you are...
But you get used to it....
I saw a letter, attached to some sort of bottle. I suppose it has some milk in it,
because it has a cow on the front of the wrapper.
I slapped myself with a hoof. Uh, dur it has milk in it! It says MILK on the label!
Wait, yes, the letter. Guess I'll...read it now...yeah...here it goes...
The letter read:

To wake without a clue, is to be stuck like glue.
To stay in three is to find the key, do please enter the library.
The milk is free, please drink it if you please...

"It'd be my pleasure, mysterious paper!" I exclaimed, pouring the contents of the bottle down my throat in many amazing
gulps. It was like taking a little bit of heaven and pouring it's contents into this small, wonderful bottle.
It tasted like chocolate. I wonder if chocolate milk had ever tasted so good?
...The only option now is to find that library the paper told me about...
I wonder what it means by 'To stay in three is to find the key'.....What key?
And the key to what, exactly...
Maybe some kind of treasure chest..Or an old box...Oh! Oh! Wait a second...Wait.
Nope, I don't know...

Violet's P.O.V
My eyes fluttered open. It was still dark, but I felt my eyelashes brush against something that felt like....Paper...
I raised my head, finding that my head had been resting atop a large, wide-open book. Great pillow, oh destiny chooser!
....The one time fate decides to use a book as a pillow....
My long, supposedly purple hair was dangling in my face, and I arose from my seat. A mirror was conveniently placed across the room. Heh. Lucky, lucky me.
I walked over, or crawled over...Considering I was walking on all fours. I gasped slightly at the fact that in my place, or where I should have been in the mirror, was a medium-dark purple horse, or...pony...unicorn filly, with bright, obviously yellow eyes, and the same color mane and tail like my hair was. Or what I think my hair is. I never can be sure. I lifted a arm, and gave my head a tilt. The filly raised it's hoof, and tilted her head in the same manner. I stumbled back, and she did the same. It took me awhile to say that I was indeed the pony in the mirror, and was indeed a unicorn. Not as bad as I thought. I'll call myself...Violet Spark.
On the mirror, there was a little purple sticky
note on the left side. I took the not in my hoof, somehow, and read the note.

Wait for blue, ignore the sheen. Time is waiting to be seen.
Wait for Time in the library, three is needed to receive the key.

Strange note...I guess the next stop is the library....
.......Sounds fun? I guess...
What does it mean by 'Wait for blue, ignore the sheen. Time is waiting to be seen.'? It was as if it was saying 'Time' was a thing and not just a sense of what time you have to fall asleep and when you have to wake up...

Foggy Skies's P.O.V

I groaned, waking up from my amazing nap. My wings shifted into a more comfortable position.
I still have no idea how I got into this cloud. Still, makes a good bed if you think about it.
I sat up, brushing my tomboyish, commonly styled, dark greenish-gray mane away from my face,
with a blow of air out of my mouth. I guess my name could be Foggy...But I'll just call myself 'Fog' ponies don't being
to call me 'Froggy'. 'Cause that would stink, man. I felt something land on my wings. a strange bit of paper snugly placed between the bits of feathers on my left wing. I unlatched the strange, and might I say, annoying, paper out of my feathers and read:

Hours go by, the search goes on,

waiting until the dusk turns dawn.....
Find the library, small grey-green filly.

Library, huh? Meh, it's gotta be more fun than sleeping...
...Guess I gotta go...
.....Stupid mysterious paper....
......Bossy paper....
........Bossy, annoying, itchy paper that tries to squirm it's way into your business...

Chapter Two: The Library

Foggy's P.O.V
I had just began walking to the library, wherever it is I would expect it to be in the town I found nearby,
and I had already began to grow tired. My hooves began to hurt, and it wasn't pleasant. I glanced at my wings for a brief moment.
No, it might hurt even more. They look too small to support my weight anyways...
But isn't it worth a try?
You could hurt yourself.
OH SHUT UP! TRY OR NEVER KNOW! AND STOP TALKING TO YOURSELF FOR GOODNESS SAKE!
Good point...
I opened my wings, examining them. I gave them a little flap. They seemed to make me feel lightweight when I flapped them.
I flapped my wings harder, and I felt myself lift off the ground about an inch or two.
I leaned forward. My wings took me forward. It was like a skateboard of some sort. This is actually kind of fun!
I slowly, but none the less happy that my hooves were off the ground, flew toward the civilization.
Time to land....
I panicked. How am I supposed to stop these things! Freaking wings, STOP MOVING!
They stopped, and I was relieved for a moment. Then I realized I was suspended over a pit of mud.
"....Just freaking brilliant.."
I let out a shriek as I plummeted into the pit, my hoof suddenly being entangled on...something.
I lifted my head out of the mud, supported by the thing.
"You okay?" I looked up to see the purple pony, no , a purple unicorn that had lifted me out of the pit.
"Yeah...I'll be fine.." I wiped the rest of the mud off my face, smiling.
"The name's Fog...." I smirked, blowing my nearly-soaked mane out of my face.
"...I'm Violet, nice to meet you." We shook hooves. My, shaking hooves. that's really new.
The purple filly smiled.
"So, where were you headed?"
"The library, wherever that is."
"Oh! I found a map earlier, and that's were I'm headed too! Maybe we could walk there together!"
"Sounds fun!" I exclaimed, bouncing after Violet, my wings folded neatly against my sides.

Unknown P.O.V.
"They are almost ready, sir. But they need to be in a group of three. Why haven't they found the third?"
"Do not fret, my pet. They will find each other. Then the seals will begin to break."
"But when? What if they don't make it to the library? What if they fall and break something? What if-"
"What if you stop saying what if?!"
"Yes sir..."
"Now, be patient...They will find the other filly....Soon..."

Violet's P.O.V
I stuck out my tongue comically, the map in one hoof and the other hooves struggling to keep me upright and moving.
Being a pony is hard...
I looked over at the grayish-colored filly, blinking. How was it possible that we had both been going to the same place? She doesn't
look like she would read books... Probably checking out a comic or something...
"What?"
I shook my head. I had been staring...
"Oh, nothing.."
"Oh, okay."
I lifted an eyebrow when the 'Library' came into view. It looked like a massive tree, with doors and all. Though I'm sure this is the place.
"We're here!" Fog exclaimed. I looked at her. Somebody must of had too much sugar..
Or....Is it some 'pony'? I'm not sure...
"Well, I guess we'll have to see what's in there." I pushed open the door. And saw the one thing I had expected.
Books.
I went in without hesitating, walking p to the desk and ringing the small, golden bell on the counter.
It let out a soft, melodic ding as my hoof pressed the smooth surface of the bell.
I looked around. No one had come to the counter yet, so I rang the bell again.
Eventually, I had rung the bell about seven times before a dark-purple unicorn mare had walked into the room.
Another filly had came into the room on the fourth time I rang the bell, and they had been examining a bit of paper
for about five minutes....
"What can I do for you, girls?" I looked up. The purple mare had addressed us as 'girls' and not 'fillies'.
Guess they wouldn't call us that, anyway. It would be weird.
"Oh, I was just wondering if you knew anything about this paper..." Me, the filly, and Fog said in sync.
We all had set our papers on the desk.
"Wait, you got one too?"
"Yeah, and it told me to go.."
"...To the Library...." We all said.
"Wait! Let's put them together! Like a puzzle! Erm....What's your name?" I looked at the other filly.
"Tulip."
"Okay, Tulip, you go first. Ignore the part where it mentions something significant to the current moment, okay?"
"Okay."
"Then I'll go, then Fog!"
"Let's get started, then!"
"To wake without a clue, is to be stuck like glue. To stay in three is to find the key, please do enter the library."
"Wait for blue, ignore the sheen. Time is waiting to be seen."
"Hours go by, the search goes on. Waiting until the dusk turns dawn..."
"Now that we put them together, it kinda makes sense!" I smiled.

Unknown P.O.V
"It's opening, sir! It's opening!"
"Shut UP! I can see that it is opening! I'm not an idiot! ....But I sure know one..."
"Oh! Who is it?"
"You, you pathetic moron.."
"Oh..."

Violet's P.O.V
A whirring noise and a raging wind came with the ending of the poem.
My mane whipped behind me, and I felt like I went blind for a moment.
"What's going on?!?!"
"I don't know!!!"
"Then why did you respond?!?"
"Both of you, be quiet!!!"
