New Feelings

Scootaloo sat in class only paying the slightest bit of attention to what Miss Cheerilee was talking about. Scootaloo always took to writing in her notebook ideas on what she and her friends could get their Cutie Marks in. Her idea of an efficient use of class time. Today was a history lesson about how Princess Celestia and her sister Princess Luna came to power over Equestria. History, so uncool. At least in science class there's a chance things could explode... Scootaloo's thoughts trailed off as she went back to her list of new things for the Crusaders to try. She had three things written down, and she was trying to think of another when her thoughts were rudely interrupted by a loud clanging noise. Lunch already? Nice! Scootaloo stood up, stretched, then smiled to herself. She considered this to be a productive morning; three crusading ideas before lunch.

"Scoots!" Apple Bloom called out to her. "Let's eat outside today."

"Okay, sure," Scootaloo replied. She picked up her saddlebags and joined Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle. "Were any of you paying attention? I sure wasn't, I hope we don't get any homework on this." Scootaloo yawned as the three of them made their way to the playground.

"I thought it was very interesting," Sweetie Belle said thoughtfully. Scootaloo rolled her eyes.

Of course she paid attention.

"Ah tried but it got so confusing. All that royal duties stuff n royal this and that," Apple Bloom said annoyed.

"I came up with some awesome ideas for us to try after school," Scootaloo said excitedly with her wings fluttering. "We can try bungie jumping or hang gliding or—"

"Those sound a bit dangerous," Interrupted a concerned sounding Sweetie Belle.

"Yeah but that's the fun part!" Scootaloo said excitedly. She and her friends sat on the grass next to the playground, and took their lunches from their saddle bags.

"Ah don't know I mean after Cutie Mark Crusaders Trapeze Artists, Ah think we should try things that don't involve our hooves leaving the ground." Apple Bloom pointed out, and Scootaloo had to admit she had a fair point. After all they did spend a couple weeks recovering from all the sprains and bruises.

"I guess you're right; we should do some less, um, extreme stuff," Scootaloo said, admitting defeat. "Any of you got something?" They looked around as if an idea might spring out in front of them.

Scootaloo looked around trying to extract ideas from ordinary objects. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle seemed to be doing the same. Her eyes rested on Sweetie Belle for a moment as she thought. Their eyes met. She stared into her big green eyes like she had never seen them before, and they stared right back. Scootaloo felt her heart do a little flutter, and her face grew warm.

"Golly, ah can't think of anything right now. Sweetie Belle?" Apple Bloom said, finally breaking the silence. Sweetie Belle looked away from Scootaloo and shook her head. "Well ah guess we can think of something at the club house." Apple Bloom suggested. There was a silent agreement and the conversation died out all together. They ate their lunches in silence.

Scootaloo watched the other colts and fillies play on the playground while eating. She tried to think of something less dangerous but still cool for them to try, but she couldn't get what just happened out of her head. She had trouble grasping it, but she could feel something deep within her changing. A warm feeling came over her body as she thought about Sweetie Belle's eyes; those big beautiful green eyes. Scootaloo blushed again, but thankfully Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom weren't looking.

Scootaloo and Apple Bloom turned their heads to Sweetie Belle as she started humming. Sweetie Belle was staring at the ground tracing a circular pattern on the grass with her hoof, and unaware that she had gained a small audience.

Scootaloo couldn't help but wonder if she had crush on her friend. She blushed at that thought, and watched Sweetie Belle hum to herself. Sweetie Belle looked up at Scootaloo and smiled nervously. Scootaloo's heart fluttered, and her cheeks turned a deeper shade of red. Everything except Sweetie Belle vanished from her vision. Scootaloo smiled as she listened to Sweetie Belle's tune, and Sweetie Belle smiled back blushing slightly. Scootaloo felt a sharp burning pain in her chest as her breathing becoming shallow.

"Um, Scootaloo?" Apple Bloom said noticing Scootaloo's vacant stare and mouth hanging slightly open. She didn't seem to have heard her. "Scootaloo!" Apple Bloom said a little louder. Scootaloo shook her head and looked at Apple Bloom. Sweetie Belle stopped humming and looked at her too. "Are you okay?"

"Ye- um yeah I'm -I'm fine." Scootaloo stammered trying to organize her thoughts. What just happened? I've never felt that before... Is this what a crush feels like? "I was just trying to think of something for us to try crusading after school today," Scootaloo said, surprising herself. Nice save. Now what the hay was that feeling, and why do I still feel it? My head feels all funny and-guh I can barely think! Come on Scoots think! I can't, I'm all light headed, my heart is pounding. Am I blushing? Oh no! Sweetie Belle probably think I'm totally weird. Scootaloo's mind was in deep debate with its self, her feeling have betrayed her. She couldn't help but stare at the white unicorn. She never noticed how nice her pearly white coat was or how cute her curly pink and purple mane was. Cute! No! Yes, well duh everypony thinks Sweetie Belle is cute, but why do I? I don't know what's going on, maybe I'm getting sick or something, yeah that's totally it. But I feel fine it's just when I look at her...

"Are ya sure you're okay?" Apple Bloom said as both her and Sweetie Belle looked at her with concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine, nothing wrong here, one hundred percent okay!" Scootaloo said trying to sound normal but instantly knew she over did it. And why is Sweetie looking at me like that?

"Well, the bell just rang and you've been staring into space not movin' n all." Apple Bloom said.

"The bell?" Scootaloo frowned. Sweetie Belle. "Of course, the bell to go back to class, I must have been thinking about crusading so much that I just didn't hear it," Scootaloo said nervously. Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom exchanged confused looks. "Well, we don't want to be late now." Scootaloo jumped to her feet, grabbed her saddle bags, and broke into a gallop toward the school leaving a dumbfounded Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle behind.

"What in tarnation was that? Since when was she ever in a hurry to get to class?" Apple Bloom asked.

"I don't know but something is bothering her. Come one we're going to be late. We can ask her after school." Sweetie Belle got to her feet and started walking toward the school with Apple Bloom following close behind.

Scootaloo hardly noticed her friends, or anypony else, enter the classroom, or that Miss Cheerilee started teaching again. Her mind was racing with thoughts and emotions. She couldn't possibly focus on anything else, even if she wanted to. Scootaloo turned her head slightly and looked at Sweetie Belle, who was taking notes on whatever Miss Cheerilee was talking about. Her heart began to beat faster, her whole body felt warm. Why is it when I look at her I get these feelings? Is this what it feels like to be in love with somepony? No way! I can't be in love with my friend can I? Wait, what's love? Hmmm, she's a filly... and I'm a filly. Is that even a thing? Am I just going insane? Scootaloo wrestled with the ebb and flow of emotions she felt. Her mind constantly rambling away at top speed, trying to make since of everything. Okay, say I do like her, is that bad? What will Sweetie Belle think? And Apple Bloom? Would I scare them away? Maybe. Would they think I'm weird for liking another filly? Maybe. I need to know more but I don't want to ask anypony. That would be like totally embarrassing. I could try and find something helpful in Twilight's library... yeah she has lots of books in there. I bet there's something in there that will help. Scootaloo decided she would have to put crusading on hold for the day. She doubted her ability to focus on her number one goal of getting her Cutie Mark at the moment anyways. Ditching my friends to go to the library? I really must be losing it. She thought hopelessly as her stomach turned. She didn't like the idea but she figured it the best course of action.

The bell rang, and school was finally out. Everypony gathered their things and rushed to the door. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle made their way to Scootaloo, who was slowly gathering her saddle bags. "Y'all ready?" Apple Bloom asked with a smile on her face. "Ah got something we can try. Cutie Mark Crusaders Fence Builders!" Apple Bloom said enthusiastically. "Applejack wants to build a new corral for the sheep. We could do that, and get our Cutie Marks!"

"Doesn't sound too dangerous or interesting, but a fence building Cutie Mark is better than no Cutie Mark." Sweetie Belle sighed. " Are you in Scoots?"

Scootaloo didn't answer right away. "Huh? Oh, um, sure building fences sounds- um, oh—wait, I can't. I just remembered I'm meeting Rainbow Dash after school today," Scootaloo said, feeling guilty. Apple Bloom just frowned, and Sweetie Belle looked confused.

"Ya didn't say anything about that before! Besides you were thinking so hard about crusading all day," Apple Bloom said with an annoyed tone. "Then ya started actin all funny like! And now ya say ya can't hang out with us? What's goin' on?" Apple Bloom demanded sounding annoyed.

"I want to, it's just that I um forgot until just now," Scootaloo said rather lamely while trying her best not to look at Sweetie Belle.

"You forgot you were hanging out with your adopted big sister? The pony you idolize?" Sweetie Belle asked, not believing her friend one bit. "Last time you were about to hang out with her, you wouldn't stop talking about it. Scoots, are you feeling okay?"

"I'm fine. Look, I just got a lot of things on my mind, and I forgot, but I promise we can crusade tomorrow." Scootaloo's guilt level was nearly exploding out of her stomach. She could see that Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle were not convinced, but it seemed they have given up in questioning her.

"All right fine! Ah guess we can do it tomorrow!" Apple Bloom responded in a annoyed tone before storming out of the classroom.

"See you tomorrow Scoots," Sweetie Belle said softly to her. Scootaloo blushed as she said that; however, Sweetie Belle didn't see it.

Scootaloo felt her heart rate slow as she watched Sweetie Belle leave the classroom. "Now to the library!" she said to the empty classroom.

Shocking Revelations

Scootaloo knocked on Twilight's door. She jumped a little as the door swung open to reveal a lavender alicorn standing in the threshold.

"Oh, hello Scootaloo. Why don't you come in?" Twilight said taking note of Scootaloo's over all tense look. She offered the filly a warm smile.

"Thanks Twilight." Sootaloo responded automatically. She stepped into the large circular room of the library and surveyed the book selfs and the thousands of books on them. Oh wow, I've never paid attention to how many books are actually in here.

"And what do I owe the pleasure?" Twilight asked.

"It's just, um, I was - well I was wondering if I could look for some books..." Scootaloo trailed off rather lamely. I'm in a library! Look for books, really?

"Okay sure, is there anything in particular you are looking for? A Daring Doo book? Rainbow Dash loves those books." Twilight said enthusiastically.

"Yeah. I- I m-mean no. I was just hoping to browse through them; you know, see if there's something interesting - um, to me." Scootaloo said nervously.

"Well, everything is sorted alphabetically by category. Just put everything back where you found it." Twilight said a little confused. "Where are your friends?

"Oh, yeah they had - um - um, chores to do, yeah ." Scootaloo said nervously. She looked at all the shelves again. Wow, maybe I should tell her what I'm looking for, there are so many books. Scootaloo considered it for a second but decided against it. I don't even know what I'm looking for. I don't want to explain my situation to her.

"Well if you need anything I'll be upstairs and Spike will be home in a little while, I sent him out for supplies." Twilight said then climbed the stairs to her bedroom.

Scootaloo scanned the categories of books and paused on the romance section, considering it. Maybe there's something in there. She pulled a book out at random and read the back. "Blue Thread, a famous scarf maker is a shy mare that can't help but notice how "big" her neighbor stallion Gambler is. She lusts for the rough n' tough "bad" pony but does he even notice her?" -Oh come on! This just sounds dirty and I'm not even sure what it means! Scootaloo shoved the book back in its spot. She pulled out another book at random "Loving Sunshine" Hmm... She flipped the book over. "Famous writer Ruby Novel has written about love countless times; however, love was something she was never actually interested in. Romance sold, it supported her lavish lifestyle.... Everything changes though when a young and beautiful mare, Sunshine, moves into the mansion next door". "Hmmm?" Scootaloo didn't expect to find a book like that. This doesn't sound bad and it's about two mares - what's the worst that can happen? She opened the book to a random section in the middle. "Their eyes met, Sunshine pulled Ruby into a passionate kiss. Their tongues exploring each other's mouths. Sunshine pushed Ruby on the bed falling on top of her not breaking the kiss. Their lips parted and she kissed Ruby's neck. Ruby moaned softly. Sunshine knew she wanted more; she kissed her lower and lower-" Scootaloo slammed the book shut and shoved it back in the self her heart pounding, her face felt hot. Wow! That was um... just wow. I'm afraid to see what else is in this section, worst idea ever! Scootaloo vowed to never mention what she just read to anypony, ever. She was about to give up when the words "Pony Psych" caught her attention. Maybe... She looked though the books in the section; most of the books were about understanding the brain and psychological development, whatever that was. Too sciencey. At the end of the shelf she spotted a small book called "10 Ways to Tell if You Are Falling in Love" Perfect! she pulled it off the shelf eagerly and opened it. "That special somepony."

Twilight sat her book down and gazed out her window. She thought it peculiar that Scootaloo was in her library to actually read books. She seemed awfully tense, strange for such an outgoing filly. Maybe she's just nervous about being seen in a library. Twilight giggled at that thought. Still, something could be bothering her, it's unusual of her to be here alone. Maybe I should check on her. Twilight left her room and spotted Scootaloo laying on the floor under the pony psych section reading a small book with a worried expression on her face. Twilight recognized the book instantly, she had read it several times herself. Oh, well that explains a lot. Twilight smiled. "Hey Scootaloo, I'm just-" Twilight was cut off as the Scootaloo jumped to her feet, her eyes bulging in shock. "Checking on you." Twilight finished her sentence. "Sorry I didn't mean to startle you." She said softly. Scootaloo just stood there with wide eyes unsure how to proceed. "Why don't you come in the kitchen for a cup of tea and we can talk." Twilight said with a friendly smile. Scootaloo didn't budge. "Come on, I think I can help you more than that book." She offered.

"You know, wh-what thi-this book is?" Scootaloo stammered.

"Of course I know what it is, it's my library. I know all the books in here." Twilight smiled. "Now come on." She's got it bad. Twilight entered the kitchen and used her magic to heat up some water. The kitchen door swung open a few minutes later as a reluctant Scootaloo entered and sat at the table avoiding Twilight's eyes. Twilight levitated the tea over. "Looks like you got crush on somepony." Twilight stated, smiling at Scootaloo.

"No!" Scootaloo said a little too quickly.

"Oh, it's obvious you are quite taken by somepony. Why else would you be so jumpy and be in here reading a book called "10 Ways to Tell if You Are Falling in Love?" Twilight asked.

"It's not a crush!" Scootaloo exclaimed. Relax, play it cool.. "It's something more." Why did I say that?

"Oh? Why do you say that?" Twilight asked. "I'm guessing he doesn't know how you feel."

"No, um - this pony doesn't even know. It's complicated." Scootaloo said trying her best not to reveal too much. Twilight offered a sympathetic smile as Scootaloo's lips began to quiver. She could feel the tears begin to build up behind her eyes. It took all her concentration to hold them back.

"I'm no expert with this stuff but I've read all about it. Sometimes just talking about it will help you feel better."

"Okay, but please don't tell anypony." Scootaloo said with desperation, her heart pounding.

"I promise I won't say anything." Twilight answered in a reassuring tone.

Scootaloo drank some tea and sighed. Might as well tell her, she'll figure it out anyway she's like super smart. "Okay, the thing is well - it's not how you would think. I mean - I don't know what I mean..." Scootaloo teared up a little. Twilight looked at her a little concerned. Okay relax. Don't cry! Just say it!. "I'm trying to say it's not a colt." Scootaloo blurted out. She lowered her head in shame, the tears began to flow.

"Oh, I see-" Twilight was cut off by the loud sobs from the filly. Twilight felt her heart sink. Aw poor thing, she is really in love with somepony close to her. A filly too...hmmm perhaps Sweetie Belle? Twilight wrapped her forelegs around Scootaloo, pulling her into a tight embrace. "It's okay, there's nothing wrong with that. Some mares like other mares and some stallions like other stallions, it happens quite often. Is that what you are worried about?" Twilight asked while doing her best to comfort a distraught Scootaloo.

"Re-really? I thought - I thought something was wr- wrong-" Scootaloo tried to talk between sobs. Twilight's embrace was comforting to her; it told her everything was going to be all right. Her sobbing reduced to sniffles. Come on Scoots, this is no time to fall apart! Look at me, I'm a complete mess. Talking to Twilight of all ponies about all this. Who knew she'd be the first one I'd come out to?

"Aw, it's okay, see. It's actually quite common." Twilight released her embrace and smiled. "It's Sweetie Belle, isn't it?" Twilight asked knowingly. Scootaloo blushed, her cheeks were almost the same shade as her mane, she avoided Twilight's eyes.

How did she do that? "H- how...how?" Was all she could manage to say. Twilight beamed back at her.

"Just a logical guess. From your behavior I could tell you have strong feeling for somepony really close to you and Sweetie Belle's sensitive and caring temperament completes your more outgoing and adventurous nature." Twilight said factually as if reciting one of her pony psych books. She smiled then added, "and she's really cute." Scootaloo blushed again. Aw, so cute.

Scootaloo in spite of herself did feel better now that she was able to talk to somepony about it. She was also relieved to find out that liking other fillies wasn't as unusual as she thought. "How do I tell her and not scare her away? What if she doesn't like fillies and rejects me and never wants to see me again?" Scootaloo asked speaking quickly.

"She's your closest friend. If there's one thing I learned about friendship, it's your best friends will always be there for you. Just find a way to tell her how you feel."

"But what if she - I mean do you think she likes fillies?" Scootaloo asked with a hint of desperation in her voice. Twilight giggled a little at the question.

"I don't know Scootaloo, she's your friend." Twilight said smiling at the filly.

"How do I tell her without scaring her away?"

"If it were me, I'd speak to her when she's alone and tell her how I feel, I suppose. I've - err never actually done that." She sighed. "Tell her in your own way when you are ready." Twilight said giggling a little. Scooaloo smiled.

"Thanks Twilight, I do feel a little better." Scootaloo felt a huge burden lift off her back; she felt normal again. She reacher over the table and hugged Twilight. Now I have to figure out how to tell her...One problem at a time Scoots, one problem at a time.

"No problem, glad I could help." She winked at the orange filly. They sat in comfortable silence drinking their tea for a while. Twilight wondered how things might work out for Scootaloo, she hoped they would turn out for the better. She only wished she could've been more helpful. A loud slam broke the silence, Twilight and Scootaloo jumped. "I think Spike is back." No sooner had she said that when the kitchen door swung open and a disgruntled Spike stormed in.

"Twilight, don't be mad at me! I went to three different shops, everypony is out of five foot scrolls!" Spike exclaimed exasperated. "They all said you bought their entire stock two weeks ago."

"Oh no! Now my checklist for next month's checklist will have to be written on two or three smaller scrolls." Twilight said with a hint of worry in her voice.

Next month's checklist has a checklist? Huh? Scootaloo shook her head.

"I looked in every shop that sold scrolls and other paper supplies." Spike explained looking annoyed.

"It's okay, I'm not mad at you Spike." Twilight said trying to calm him down. "We'll just have to ask one of the shops to special order them for us in bulk." Spike just nodded then took notice of Scootaloo sitting at the table.

"Oh hi, Scootaloo. Sorry about that. Where're Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle?" He asked trying to hide his embarrassment, realizing Scootaloo had witnessed the whole thing.

"Hi Spike, yep just me. They are at home." Scootaloo said blushing slightly at hearing Sweetie's Belle's name.

"I was just helping her with some homework." Twilight said smoothly. Scootaloo smiled glad she covered up her real reason for her visit so easily.

"I should get home, thanks Twilight, I think I know what to do now." Scootaloo hugged Twilight one more time before leaving. She got on her scooter and rode home slowly. Twilight had calmed many of Scootaloo's anxieties but had given her many new things to think about. She sighed, "Oh Sweetie Belle, I'm totally crazy for you."

Apple Bloom made her way out of the school house with Sweetie Belle. "We are talking to Scoots first thing tomorrow!" Apple Bloom said not holding back how annoyed she was.

"Yeah she was acting so strange. I hope she's okay." Sweetie Belle said sounding concerned.

"We will get an answer from her tomorrow for sure. Ah will see you tomorrow Sweetie." Apple Bloom said as they went their separate ways. Apple Bloom walked toward the outskirts of town, toward Sweet Apple Acres. She seemed fine before lunch but maybe something is really wrong. Apple Bloom continued to muse over what could be bothering her friend as she approached the apple orchard. She could see her older sister Applejack by barn stacking barrels. Apple Bloom walked up to the barn.

"Heya sis how was school today?" Applejack asked when she saw Apple Bloom walking up to the barn.

"All right I guess." Apple Bloom said unenthusiastically.

"Oh, now school ain't all that bad." Applejack said. She turned her head to barn. "Big Mac! These barrels are ready to go, take them to the cart, I will empty the rest tomorrow." Applejack called over her shoulder. A big red stallion came out of the barn.

"Eyup." Was all he said as he began lifting empty barrels into a nearby cart.

"Been bucking lots of apples today, it's almost cider season." Applejack said stretching her hind legs. "Ah thought you were going to be with your friends today?"

"We were until Scootaloo had to start acting all funny like." Apple Bloom said still with an annoyed tone in her voice. Applejack frowned.

"Funny like how?"

"Ah don't know, at lunch she kept spacing out and seemed distracted. She kept blushing like a lot then she said she forgot she was hanging out with Rainbow Dash today after school and ditched us. Sweetie Belle thinks something is wrong, Ah'm just annoyed 'cause she won't tell us what's really goin' on!" Apple Bloom explained and to her annoyance her sister just chuckled at her story.

"Ah think I know what that is. She's got it bad." Applejack laughed out loud.

"Got what? Got what? What's bad?" Apple Bloom asked excited. "I mean is it bad?" She asked in a serious tone.

"It sounds like Scootaloo has a serious crush on somepony." Applejack said still chuckling.

"She WHAT?" Apple Bloom exclaimed. "She likes somepony?"

"Oh yes, by the way you describe it, she is quite taken by somepony. Always distracted or daydreaming and blushing. It's nothing to worry about. She's just fallen for somepony big time."

"Ah wonder which colt she likes?" Apple Bloom wonder out loud.

"Colt? I thought she was a fillyfooler." Applejack said under breath but Apple Bloom heard it.

"A filly what?" Apple Bloom asked.

Applejack sighed. I shouldn't have said that now Ah gotta go 'splainin things."Fillyfooler means she likes fillies instead of colts." Applejack said. Apple Bloom looked confused. Dang it. "Look, some ponies are attracted to the same gender, it's just the way they are made."

"Ah see, so you think Scootaloo likes fillies?" Apple Bloom asked still thinking about what her sister said. Ah've head of this, I think...Don't ah have that one cousin who likes other colts? Hmmm I'll have to ask Applejack sometime.

"It's possible but I was joking, something Rainbow Dash and I were - never mind. If she likes fillies it's no big deal. Some of ma friends like other mares." Applejack said still regretting her comment. Me and my mouth, now ah got her thinking something about her friend that may not be true.

"So she might like a colt or a filly. Hmmm ah can't think of who. What if she likes both?" Apple Bloom asked.

"Well, some ponies are attracted to both. Look don't go making a big deal 'bout all this. Scootaloo will tell you who she likes when she feels ready." Applejack said sternly.

"But Ah can help her. I don't care if she likes fillies or colts or dragons or whatever. Cutie Mark Crusaders Love Doctors!"

"Dragons?" Applejack eyed her sister suspiciously. Applejack has long suspected her sister had a little crush on Spike. "Look Apple Bloom it's best not to interfere with these things. This is something Scootaloo needs to workout for herself. If she wants to confide in you then she will. Yes, she might be a little shy about it. Just give her time. You wouldn't like if Ah tried to set you up on dates with some colts or Spike." Applejack added that little bit with a smile. Apple Bloom blushed. Ha, knew it!

"Okay ah won't get in the way but ah need her to focus! We got crusading to do!" Apple Bloom demanded. Applejack just chuckled again.

"She'll come around, just give her a little bit of time to come to her senses. Now run a long, dinner will be ready soon."

Ah guess Scootaloo could like fillies. Maybe she likes me! Na, that would be strange. Ah don't think Ah like Fillies like that. Maybe Sweetie Belle? She was staring at her a lot. They would be cute together. Apple Bloom continued to ponder who Scootaloo could like while she made her way to the house. She knew one thing, she wasn't going to wait around for Scootaloo to tell her anything. She was determined to figure it out. Apple Bloom smiled to herself as a plan began to form in her mind. This will be the best Cutie Mark Crusader idea ever!

The Plan

View Online

Scootaloo woke with a startle. She lifted her head a little to look at her alarm clock. Six-thirty am! Damn, too early. Why can’t I just sleep until it’s time for school? Why? Sweetie Belle, that’s why. Scootaloo rolled over in her bed trying to go back to sleep but found it to be impossible. Sweetie Belle was the only thing on her mind. Annoyed she got out of bed and decided to take a shower to try and clear her head. She stumbled into the bathroom and stared at herself in the mirror for a couple seconds before remembering why she was there. At least it’s Friday. She thought in the shower just letting the hot water pour over her. How do I tell her? I can’t today, Apple Bloom will be there and that will make it awkward. Maybe after we are done crusading today I can walk her home then tell her… no that’s stupid. She stepped out of the sower and dried off. She spent extra time combing her mane, trying different styles but in the end decided they all looked stupid and just shook her head back and forth until her mane fell into its usual style. Scootaloo made her way downstairs and grabbed an apple fritter for breakfast before going out to get her scooter.

The drive to school was uneventful and scootaloo drove slower than usual. Her usual speed, of course, was as fast as possible. Okay, so I’ll act normal, won’t look at her, and I’ll tell them I was distracted because I was thinking about flying…yeah I think they’ll buy that. The school came into her view and she could see Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle standing around where she usually parks her scooter. Okay, just stay cool. Don’t look at - why did I look at her? My mane probably looks stupid. She felt her heart start to pound and her face get warm. She parked her scooter and took off her helmet. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. “Good morning.” She smiled brightly at her friends.

“Good morning Scoots.” Sweetie Belle said cheerfully.

“Morning.” Apple Bloom said with a sinister smile.

Uh-oh, why does she have that evil “I know something” grin. “Hey, look, sorry about yesterday. I was really distracted-“

“Oh, Ah know. It’s okay. Ah know you got a crush on somepony.” Apple Bloom said with a grin.

Scootaloo felt her heart stop, her face got hot. She knew her face was bright red. That’s why she was grinning like that. How did she find out?

“You have a crush on somepony? Who?” Sweetie Belle asked eagerly. “Is that why you were acting so strange? Why didn't you tell us?"

“I-I yeah - um - no that’s not it.”

“Of course it is. Applejack said so.” Apple Bloom said smiling. “So who is it? You have to tell us Scoots, this is so exciting.” Apple Bloom was jumping up and down.

“I’d um rather not say anything - err not yet.” Scootaloo said blushing like crazy.

“Oh okay, but it would be fun to know who he is.” Sweetie Belle said a little disappointed. "We won't laugh."

“Yeah, who is he or, um, she?” Apple Bloom asked still jumping.

“She?” Sweetie Belle asked, blushing slightly.

“Yeah, Applejack said some ponies like the same gender, she said it’s common. She said some of her friends like other mares.” Apple Bloom stopped jumping and started to skip in a circle around Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle chanting. "Scootaloo's got a crush on somepony. Scootaloo's got a crush on somepony. Scoota-" She stopped as both Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were staring at her with raised eyebrows.

“Oh, wow, I see... I guess that makes sense. That’s really cool Scoots. I wish somepony had a crush on me.” Sweetie Belle said blushing slightly.

“I’m sure lots of ponies have a crush on you, Sweetie Belle. You’re really pretty.” Scootaloo reassured her. Oh stupid me, why did I have to say that? I’m doomed. One of them will figure it out, probably Apple Bloom. It's uncanny how she figures these things out. Uncanny is a word right? What was I thinking about? Sweetie Belle looked at her and smiled. Oh Celestia, that smile, those eyes…

“You really think so?” Sweetie Belle asked. Scootaloo nodded, blushing. "Thank you Scoots."

Scootaloo felt Sweetie Belle’s foreleg wrap around her neck pulling her into an embrace. Her heart skipped a beat, her knees went weak and began to wobble slightly, and her face if possible turned a darker shade of red. Her heart was pounding so hard she through it might explode out of her chest. Oh wow, her coat is so soft. Scootaloo barley had time to process all the sensations before Sweetie Belle released her embrace.

Scootaloo’s behaviour didn’t go unnoticed by Apple Bloom who just grinned like her birthday had come early. Ah knew it! Ah knew it! Ah wonder if Sweetie Belle likes her too, that would be so cute! Maybe Ah can get them together and get my Cutie Mark! But how? Hmmm. The bell interrupted Apple Bloom’s thoughts. “Dang it, time for school.” Apple Bloom said. Sweetie Belle was already heading into the school house. Scootaloo looked like she was frozen. Apple Bloom grinned as she walked up to a petrified Scootaloo. “She’s cute, isn’t she?” Apple Bloom asked slyly. Scootaloo jumped.

“Yeh - no - wha-“ Scootaloo fumbled with her words being caught off guard. Since Sweetie Belle had hugged her she had lost track of her surroundings. Apple Bloom leaned in and nudged her shoulder with a knowing smile. No! She figured it out! I guess I was a bit obvious. No point hiding it from her now. Scootaloo in spite of her self grinned.

“Ah knew it! So cute! When are you going to ask her out? Apple Bloom asked excitedly.

Ugh, now I’m screwed. “I – I don’t know.” Scootaloo said nervously. “Please don’t tell her.” Scootaloo pleaded.

“Of course Ah won’t tell her... yet. Ah got the perfect way for you to tell her. Ah will tell you after class at the club house.” Apple Bloom said with excitement.

“Just don’t do what we did for Miss Cheerilee and Big Mac.” Scootaloo said nervously remembering the love poison they mixed up.

“Trust me, this is like way better.” Apple Bloom said.

Not sure if I should be excited or scared. Both... Yes, definitely both.

School had let out, it was officially the weekend and Scootaloo couldn’t be happier. The whole day passed by at a snail’s pace. Scootaloo forced herself to pay attention in class to get her mind off Sweetie Belle. I actually paid attention in math? Being in love is making me uncool! Now it's time to find out what scheme Apple Bloom has cooked up. She didn’t know what it was but she figured if it involved her and Sweetie Belle it probably wasn’t anything good.

“Are we going to build that fence thing today?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“Nope, Applejack said no power tools.” Apple Bloom responded smiling.

“Okay, good. Who would want a picture of a fence post on their flank anyway?”

“Ah got something even better. This will get us our Cutie Marks for sure.” Apple Bloom said bouncing up and down.

“What is it?” Scootaloo asked in spite of her self. She had a nasty suspicion Apple Bloom was cooking up some scheme that got her and Sweetie Belle alone in some kind of romantic setting.

“Ah will tell you when we get to the clubhouse.” Apple Bloom grinned at Scootaloo.

Yep, just as I feared. Ugh why did I have to be so obvious? Why?

“Ah can’t tell y'all here. This is a top secret Cutie Mark Crusader’s mission.” Apple Bloom said eagerly.

“Top Secret? What are we, secret agents?” Sweetie Belle asked confused.

“Trust me, you’re gonna love it!” Apple Bloom winked at Scootaloo.

“Okay Apple Bloom, what is this top secret mission?” Sweetie Belle asked exasperated, sitting on her haunches. Scootaloo sat down next to her.

“This is the big one, the one that is a Cutie Mark guarantee-“

“Will you just tell us!” Sweetie Belle shrieked.

“We are going to host a big dance!” Apple Bloom said with a big grin.

“Dance? Like the Grand Galloping Gala?” Sweetie Belle asked confused.

“Err - yeah but not quite as big or fancy.”

“Okay…where are we going to have this and who would want to come to it?” Scootaloo asked as if this was the most obvious flaw in the plan.

“That’s easy, we host it here at Sweet Apple Acres in the barn. Next Friday is a day off and the start of cider season. Instead of selling Friday morning we make cider all day then sell it all at the dance. Ponies will come for the cider and the party. It will be the Sweet Apple Acres Cider Gala” Apple Bloom was bouncing up and down with excitement.

“Genius! I like this idea.” Sweetie Belle said excitedly. "We will get our Cutie Marks as party planners!"

Scootaloo knew the real motive behind this plan and it had little to do with planning a party or selling cider but she was okay with that. It really was the perfect opportunity to ask Sweetie Belle out. “I would normally think dances are totally lame but this sounds like a good idea. I’m in!”

“Great! Step one, run this by Applejack. Step two, make posters to get the word out. Step three, ask Rarity to make us something for the dance because we have to look nice if we are going to be hosts. Step four, get dates-“

“Dates?” Sweetie Belle asked blushing.

“Well, of course. It’s a dance and we are the hosts, we have to set the standard.” Apple Bloom explained as if it were obvious.

“Okay, but I don’t think anypony will ask me.” Sweetie Belle looked down.

“Ah wouldn’t say that. Ah think somepony will ask you.” Apple Bloom said glancing at Scootaloo who was staring at the floor with cheeks that matched the setting sun.

“Really? Who?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“Ah just got a feelin.” Apple Bloom said not meeting her eyes.

“You mean you know somepony that likes me?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“She means you are really pretty and somepony will definitely ask you.” Scootaloo said. I hope I ask her first and don’t chicken out.

“Oh I don't know colts are like annoying.” Sweetie Belle said. "I mean I guess they're all right, I've just never met any that interest me." Sweetie Belle said bashfully.

“Wait, do you like fillies?” Apple Bloom asked glancing at Scootaloo. Sweetie Belle blushed and looked down.

Oh I hope she does, I will ask her out on the spot if she says yes. Okay probably not but...soon.

“I don’t know, maybe. I never thought about it until after what you said this morning.” Sweetie Belle said blushing still staring at the floor.

Oh Celstia! She said maybe, that’s probably a yes! I mean she isn’t sure but the fact that she’s questioning it!

“Oh, well…that is very interesting. Maybe a certain filly will ask you." Apple Bloom winked at Scootaloo.

Scootaloo Glared at Apple Bloom. Really Apple Bloom? Really?

"Oh, I don't know Apple Bloom. It would be easier if we all went as friends." Sweetie Belle said.

"Na come on, dates won't be that bad. Ah think I’m going to ask Spike to be my-

“Spike?” Sweetie Belle asked as Scootaloo fell to the floor laughing.

“What? He’s always been nice to me and he’s kinda cute.” Apple Bloom said without any hint of embarrassment.

She has a lot more confidence than I do.

“You know he’s like in love with my sister, right?” Sweetie Belle said.

“Ah know, but I’m still going to ask. It doesn’t mean he has to be my very special, um, somedragon?” Apple Bloom said a little unsure.

“Scoots you should ask that special somepony of yours.” Apple Bloom said grinning. Scootaloo responded by blushing.

“Ugh! This is driving me crazy. Who is this mystery pony of yours Scoots?” Sweetie Belle asked with frustration. "And why do I get the feeling you know who this pony is, Apple Bloom?" Sweetie Belle demanded.

Scootaloo looked from an annoyed Sweetie Belle to Apple Bloom who shifted her eyes and pretended not to hear her. Sweetie Belle's eyes were focused on Apple Bloom her nose scrunched up a little. Cute. “Look you guys that’s not important right now. We have a party to plan.” Scootaloo said trying to steer the conversation in another direction.

“So you aren’t going to tell us?” Sweetie Belle asked with disappointment.

“Scootaloo is right y’all. We need to talk to Applejack and see if this is a go.” Apple Bloom said.

Apple Bloom is having way too much fun with this. At least she hasn’t told her even though she might as well have... dropping hints like that.

“All right, fine. You have to tell me though. I won’t leave you alone until you do.” Sweetie Belle said stubbornly.

“Ya better tell her soon, could get interesting.” Apple Bloom grinned at Scootaloo.

Ugh, you have got to be kidding me! I can’t believe she said that. At least Sweetie hasn’t pieced it together…yet. I better tell her soon. This is just getting ridiculous.

Scootaloo wondered when was the right moment to tell her as the three of them left the clubhouse to find Applejack. It didn’t take long; they found her by the barn getting things ready for cider season. She hung back and watched an excited Apple Bloom bounce around her sister explaining her plan. Even if this dance is a bust, I’m still going to tell her. Apple Bloom continued to bounce around her sister and Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle noticed Scootaloo hanging back and waved her hoof beckoning her to join them. She moved up to hear Applejack speaking.

“It sounds like you three really thought this one through, lets give it a go.” Applejack said.

“Wooohooo! Apple Bloom cheered. She looked at her two friends and smiled then as if on queue all three of them shouted.

“Cutie Mark Crusaders Party Planners! Yay!”

“All right y’all. We got lots of planning to do. You three better get busy.” Applejack said.

“All right, let's make the posters and get them out before night time!” Apple Bloom said excitedly. “Come on.” She called over her shoulder as she began to trot back to the clubhouse.

Scootaloo got back to the clubhouse only minutes after Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle did but she found them already starting on the posters. Scootaloo sat down close to Sweetie Belle, her heart started pounding. Apple Bloom smiled at Scootaloo before handing her some supplies.

"We each make one then hang it up in a different part of Ponyville." Apple Bloom said. "Make sure to have the date n' time." Apple Bloom said looking over at Sweetie Belle's poster. "Dang it we are all out of - um, markers. Yeah out of markers. Ah better go get some more from the house. It might take a while because Ah don’t feel like runnin.” Apple Bloom said slowly. Then she left the clubhouse before Sweetie Belle or Scootaloo could point out there was a box right behind her.

“That was strange.” Sweetie Belle said before shrugging and going back to making her poster.

“Yeah.” Scootaloo said dumbly. Stupid me! Ugh, why couldn’t I say something funny or smart? Now’s the chance, that’s why she acting like that, trying to give me a hint. Scootaloo’s heart pounded harder her face turned red. Okay here it goes…

“Hey Sweetie Belle…” Scootaloo said with confidence. Sweetie Belle turned her head and looked Scootaloo in the eyes. All her confidence vanished. She began to shake a little. Why did she look at me? Those eyes make me crazy; gosh they are lovely.

“Yes?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“Um, would you, um…pass the blue marker.” Scootaloo said blushing, her whole body shaking. Sweetie Belle frowned.

“You have one right there.” Sweetie replied pointing to a blue marker on the floor next to Scootaloo’s hoof.

"Oh, yeah...did - didn't see that one." Scootaloo said sadly then returned to her poster.

“Are you okay? Ever since you got this crush on this somepony you’ve been acting so weird. Why won’t you tell me who it is?” Sweetie Belle demanded.

“Don’t worry, I will tell you - um, both who it is but not right now. When the moment is right.” Scootaloo said staring at the floor. Her heart sank, she could feel a knot in her chest. I can’t do it. I just can’t.

The clubhouse door opened and a grinning Apple Bloom walked in. “Ah guess we have all the makers already in here.” Apple Bloom said taking note of Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo sitting close together. “So, anything interesting happen while I was gone?”

“Scootaloo is acting like a weirdo and won’t tell us who she has such a big crush on.” Sweetie Belle said annoyed. “My poster is ready to be hung up. I will hang it up at the school.” Sweetie Belle said “Meet me at the Carousel Boutique when you are done.” Sweetie Belle said then walked out the door.

“Why didn’t you ask her? That’s the whole reason Ah left.”

“I-I tried but couldn’t get the words out. This is so hard.” Scootaloo said with a sad tone.

“No it ain’t, just gotta say it. You can do all kinds of dangerous stunts on your scooter and you aren’t afraid but you can’t ask your friend out?” Apple Bloom said.

“When you put it that way…I don’t know. Every time she looks at me…” Scootaloo trailed off blushing.

“Aww.” Apple Bloom teased. “Okay here’s the plan: we meet Sweetie Belle at the Boutique then we go up to her room. Ah will leave her room to talk to Rarity about dresses and you will tell her or Ah will when Ah come back to her room.” Apple Bloom said glaring at Scootaloo.

“Okay, okay. I just got to mare up and do it.” Scootaloo said with confidence. Apple Bloom smiled in response.

"Let's finish our posters so we can hang them up, so you can tell Sweetie Belle how you feel." Apple Bloom teased.

"You are having way too much fun with this."

"It's only gonna get worse unless you ask her tonight." Apple Bloom said elbowing Scootaloo's shoulder. Apple Bloom laughed and shook her head.

"What?" Scootaloo asked confused.

"Oh, you. You're such a mess, Scoots. You are supposed to be the cool filly." Apple Bloom said laughing. Scootaloo smiled and shook her head.

"Yeah, love is crazy." She said blushing.

They sat in silence as they finished their posters. Scootaloo thought her's turned out all right, she made the lettering catchy and it had the time and date. She made sure the word "cider" was extra visible. She glanced over at Apple Bloom's, to her annoyance Apple Bloom's was much better. Apple Bloom had drawn a picture of Sweet Apple Acres. Whatever.

"Ya ready?" Apple Bloom asked looking up from her poster.

"Yeah. I'll hang mine up at Sugarcube Corner."

"Ah will hang mine at the town hall. Meet you at the Boutique." Apple Bloom said smiling. Scootaloo smiled, her wings fluttered.

"Yep, I will see you there." Scootaloo replied then left the clubhouse. I hope she says yes.

Scootaloo was the last one to meet up at the Carousel Boutique after hanging her poster. Rarity had let her in and she found her friends in Sweetie Belle's room exchanging dance moves. Apple Bloom has like zero coordination. Spike is in for a surprise if he goes with her. Scootaloo just shook her head as Apple Bloom toppled over after trying to show case her "ballerina" skills to Sweetie Belle who was on the floor laughing. I think we should get back on track here.

"Oh hiya Scoots, you finally made it. Ah was just practicing my dance moves. Ah think Spike will be mighty impressed." Apple Bloom said giggling.

"The only thing that's impressive is your lack of balance." Sweetie Belle said, still laying on the floor laughing.

"What are you, a dance critic?" Apple Bloom asked in mock annoyance.

“Okay, so what do we – err need now?” Scootaloo asked looking from Apple Bloom to Sweetie Belle, trying to get them to focus. She was so nervous, she knew what she had to do and it made her tremble. It was worse when Apple Bloom looked over at her and smiled. Any moment Apple Bloom was going to use some cheap ploy to leave them alone again.

“Now we need a list of decorations and other party things!” Apple Bloom said jumping up and down. “Sweetie Belle, start making a list.”

“Okay.” Sweetie Belle pulled a piece of paper out of her desk and started to write. Her chin resting on one of her forehooves and her lips pursed as she tried to think of things.

Is there ever a time when she's not cute!

"Ah’m goin downstairs to talk to Rarity about dresses. I will probably be down there for a while…” Apple Bloom spoke slowly then trailed off. She looked at Scootaloo and smiled.

“Ooh, we should all go. My sister can get carried away when it comes to fashion and parties.” Sweetie Belle said.

“Na, I’ll be alright. Just make that list with Scootaloo, I’ll be back, um sometime soon - ish” Apple Bloom said as she turned to leave she moved close to Scootaloo and hissed in her ear, “Tell her or Ah will.” She nudged Scootaloo with her shoulder then left the room.

“Now she’s acting strange. Is there something in the water?” Sweetie Belle asked annoyed returning to her list.

All right Scoots don’t be a scardy-pony. Just say it. Just simple words, that’s all. Silly words, that’s all. “Um, Sweetie Belle?” Scootaloo said softly.

“Yeah?” She said not looking up from her list.

“I was wondering if you, um, would want to-to g-go to the dance with me?” Scootaloo said holding her breath, her heart pounding. Oh Celestai! What have I done?

“Like with you, with you?” Sweetie Belle asked looking up from her list at a blushing Scootaloo.

“Y-yes.” Oh gosh, breath! Scootaloo felt slightly sick to her stomach.

“I thought you were going to ask that special somepony you’re obsessing over?” Sweetie Belle asked slightly confused.

“Well, the thing is…I, um, just did.” Scootaloo said lowering her head. There, the truth is out. Her whole body was shaking half terrified she might be rejected, half excited she might say yes. I just told her. I just told. I just..ummm, breath Scoots. I just told her and she hasn't gone running for the door.

“Huh? The pony you have a crush on is me?” Sweetie Belle asked. Scootaloo could see she was blushing.

“Yes.” Scootaloo said turning her head to look Sweetie Belle in the eyes. She is beautiful. “I’m sorry Sweetie I don’t want things to be weird but I had to tell you, it was making me crazy and Apple Bloom was going to tell you if I didn’t”

“Apple Bloom knows?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“Yeah... I guess I was a little too obvious.” Scootaloo said forcing herself to laugh. “Listen I really like you Sweetie Belle, I don’t know how it happened. One day I just realized that I felt differently about you.” Scootaloo took a step toward Sweetie Belle, she didn’t back away. “I can’t get you out of my head, you make my heart beat fast, you make my knees weak, you are irresistibly cute, your eyes are breath taking and when you look me in the eyes... I lose my mind.” Scootaloo said moving closer to her. Sweetie Belle blushed and looked away shyly. “I guess what I’m trying to say is, I love you, Sweetie Belle.” She moved closer. They were nose to nose. Scootaloo closed her eyes and leaned in closer, her lips connected with SweetieBelle's. Sweetie Belle jumped a little, surprised, but didn’t resist or move away. Scootaloo broke the kiss and backed away from Sweetie Belle. “I’m – I’m sorry.” Scootaloo said and she lowered her head. "I'll just go." Scootaloo said. She had lost herself in the moment, poured her heart out to Sweetie Belle and acted out of lust. She was sure her friendship with Sweetie Belle was over. Why couldn't I control my self? Why?

“No wait!" Sweetie Belle said desperately. Scootaloo turned and looked at her with a sad expression. "That was my fist kiss you know?"

"Mine too." Scootaloo admitted. Sweetie Belle blushed as she stared into Scootaloo's eyes. What is she doing?

"I liked it." Sweetie Belle said simply. "I - I like you too Scootaloo and I’d love to go to the dance with you.” Sweetie Belle smiled bashfully. She reached out with her forelegs and brought Scootaloo into an embrace. She leaned in and kissed her on the lips. Scootaloo closed her eyes, wrapped her forelegs around Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle pulled her head back. “You know, I think I’ve always kinda liked you. I never knew what it really was but sometimes when I looked at you I would get these feelings…” Sweetie Belle trailed off and kissed Scootaloo on the lips quickly.

“Really?” Scootaloo asked tightening her embrace on Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle responded by tightening her embrace as well.

“Remember when we met under that table at Diamond Tierra’s cute-ceañera?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“Of course I do.” Scootaloo responded then kissed Sweetie Belle on the cheek. Is this really happening? If this is a dream...never wake me up!

“I remember thinking you were the coolest pony ever, like a mini Rainbow Dash. I didn’t realize it then but thinking back, I definitely had a crush on you there. My heart would race every time I watched you do those stunts on your scooter.” Sweetie Belle said softly looking into Scootaloo’s eyes.

“I think I always liked you too but two days ago, I fell for you hard. I love it when you sing.” Scootaloo said and Sweetie Belle kissed her on the cheek. “No more talking Sweetie, just hold me like this forever.” Scootaloo said softly as she moved her mouth closer to Sweetie Belle’s. Their lips locked in a passionate kiss. Scootaloo pushed her tongue forward into Sweetie Belle's mouth. Sweetie Belle was shocked at first but only for a second; she relaxed and pushed he tongue into Scootaloo's. They broke apart after what could have been a few minutes or an eternity, to Scootaloo time had no meaning anymore. Only Sweetie Belle mattered.

"Oh my gosh, Scootaloo. I had no idea... I feel so tingly so -" Scootaloo interrupted her by kissing her on the lips again. Scootaloo began to rub her forelegs up and down Sweetie Belle's sides. "Oh!" She squeaked. Scootaloo nuzzled her then kissed her neck. "Oh Scootaloo, I love you." Sweetie Belle whispered. Their lips met again. Sweetie Belle pushed he tongue forward, meeting Scootaloo's.

“Wow! Ah see you told her.” Apple Bloom said feeling a little awkward having walked in on them. Guess they were a little too busy to hear me come in. Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle jumped and broke their kiss. They were still holding each other as they looked at Apple Bloom. Blushing, they awkwardly grinned at her.

“Oh, yeah we-err got a little distracted…” Scootaloo said. “We didn’t hear you come in.” She kissed Sweetie Belle on the cheek.

“Ah noticed... So ‘m guessing you two didn’t get much party planning done? The list…remember?” Apple Bloom said trying to get the two of them to stop holding each other and back to planning for the party.

“Oh, um yeah, well I started a list but got kinda sidetracked.” Sweetie Belle said blushing. Apple Bloom just rolled her eyes. “Instead of a list why don’t we just borrow Pinkie Pie’s party cannon? I mean, it probably has everything we need in it.”

“That’s a great idea! Why didn’t Ah think of that!” Apple Bloom shouted. Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle laughed. Scootaloo kissed Sweetie Belle on the cheek. “Look, Ah don’t mind ya kissin in all but come on! Do you two have to be so mushy and lovey dovey?” Apple Bloom asked smiling.

“Well, it’s just so nice holding her and the way she is holding me…” Scootaloo trailed off embarrassed. Apple Bloom is supportive but I don't think she wants to know... “Anyway, how did your talk with Rarity go?”

“She really likes the idea, she's gonna make us the dresses. Then she spoke to me for like ever about fashion.” Apple Bloom said annoyed. “Then Ah come up here to find you two, um enjoying each other's company." Apple Bloom smiled. "You two are really cute together. I'll just leave you two alone so you two can get back to what you were doing. We can do more planning tomorrow."

"Thanks, Apple Bloom. You really are a good friend." Scootaloo said. I gotta thank her for forcing my hoof and planning this dance. I don't know what I would've done without her.

"Thanks. Y'all have fun now." She winked at them then left the room.

"Now, where were we?" Scootaloo said turning her attention back to the pony who's hooves were wrapped around her neck, back to her lover, Sweetie Belle.

"I think we were somewhere right around here..." Sweetie Belle leaned in and kissed Scootaloo on the neck making her shiver. She kissed her on the cheek then full on the lips, their tongues meeting in the middle.

Scootaloo was lost in the moment. Nothing else mattered to her except Sweetie Belle. She could feel the warmth of her body against hers, the passion in each kiss, the shivers each touch send down her spine and the aching in her heart as she longed for more. She wanted Sweetie Belle, more than anything, and now she was hers. She had more than she ever dreamed of, she had her forelegs wrapped around it and she never wanted to let go.

They had taken a break from kissing for the moment and just held each other. Scootaloo rubbed her nose against Sweetie Belle's. Sweetie Belle smiled then rested her head on Scootaloo's shoulder. "I love you Sweetie." She said softly. "I always thought falling in love would be uncool and lame but that was before I fell for you." She nuzzled Sweetie Belle. Sweetie tightened her grip on Scootaloo in response.

"I love too. I love the way you hold me." Sweetie Belle whispered softly. "I could fall asleep in your hooves. Spend the night?" Sweetie Belle asked. Scootaloo nodded and Sweetie Belle smiled. She broke out of their embrace and made her way to the bed. She laid down and Scootaloo laid next to her. She snuggled up against Scootaloo and Scootaloo put a foreleg over her pulling her in closer then she fell asleep.

Scootaloo pulled the covers over them and looked at Sweetie Belle snuggled against her fast asleep. She is even cute when she's asleep. She kissed her on the cheek before closing her eyes and falling asleep too.

Sweet Apple Acres Cider Gala

The week passed in a blur for Scootaloo. Between class, crusading and planning for the dance, she had lost track of the days. She didn't get much alone time with Sweetie Belle although sometimes at lunch they would hide in the bushes or an empty classroom and make out. In fact, Scootaloo had only one full day alone with Sweetie Belle, the day before the dance. She and Sweetie Belle were in the middle of a very passionate kiss, rubbing each other's flanks when Rarity walked in with their dresses. She nearly fainted at the sight of them lip locked and passionately caressing each other.

"Sweetie Belle! What in Equestria are you doing?" Rarity said in shock as Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo both jumped taking hooves off each other. Both of their faces turing a bright shade of red.

"Um, we were just - um..."

"Sweetie Belle do you realize what you were doing? Do you have feelings for Scootaloo?"

"Yes, Rarity. She's my fillyfriend." Sweetie Belle said looking at the floor.

"Your fillyfried? Why Sweetie Belle! Why didn't you tell me?" Rarity said cheerfully.

"I don't know. I thought you wouldn't approve I guess..."

"Darling who you love is who you love. It's not my place to tell you who to love. I will always approve as long as that pony truly loves you and isn't hurting you. I'm sorry I freaked out but it was quite the shock."

"Oh... I'm sorry I didn't tell you Rarity. I really do love Scootaloo." Sweetie Belle put her foreleg around Scootaloo's neck pulling her into an embrace.

"Aw so cute! My little sister is in love!"Rarity sang out cheerfully then cleared her throat changing back to a serious demeanor. "Now, seeing as you two were a little, um, frisky, and things looked a little heated I think it's time for the talk."

"The talk?" Scootaloo asked deciding to join the conversation seeing that Rarity wasn't angry at her.

"Yes dears, the talk. This is something I can't really put a stop to nor would I try, I can only make sure you get the right information. After all your first time is supposed to be a special moment." Rarity said feeling a little embarrassed.

Scootaloo was ready to bolt. She wanted to be anywhere else in Equestria as she realized what Rarity was about to talk about. Oh no, no, no, this isn't happening... from Rarity?

"You see... when a mare loves a stallion or um, mare... very very much..." Rarity blushed. "Now it's nothing to be ashamed of. It's part of life and you two should understand some things before you decide to - Well let me just tell you how everything works first."

Scootaloo glanced at her clock as she had done many times before. Three o'clock, guess I should get ready, this thing starts in three hours. She decided she should shower first as she hasn't had one yet. In the shower she spent extra time cleaning her hooves and shampooing her mane and tail. She got out and fussed with combing her mane so it looked just right. I'm doing this for you Sweetie... She made her way back to her room and took her dress from her closet, the one Rarity had given her the previous day. It was dark maroon that glittered in the light. It was sleek and simple but elegant. It's not too bad I guess, could be worse. She donned the gown and admired herself in the mirror. I kinda dig it actually and it matches my mane. She reached in her closet and extracted matching shoes and put them on. She looked at her clock annoyed, she only managed to waste an hour of time. Now, to pick up Sweetie.

Scootaloo knocked on the door to the Carousel Boutique. It opened revealing Rarity standing in the doorway and Twilight standing behind her.

"Oh my! You look fabulous dear!" Rarity beamed at her. "Come in, Sweetie Belle is upstairs getting ready, she'll be down soon."

"Wow Scootaloo, you look nice." Twilight said smiling at her.

"Um, thanks."

"Rarity tells me you and Sweetie Belle are together now. Did you take my advice?" Twilight asked.

"Yes and it worked. Thank you, thank you!" Scootaloo said excitedly.

"It's cute but they needn't to get so, um carried away." Rarity said as Scootaloo bowed her head blushing. "We had to have a little talk yesterday but at least we don't have to worry about either one getting pregnant." Rarity sighed. "Still if I tried to stop them I know they'd do it anyway. I know I did- " Rarity put a hoof over her mouth but it was too late she had already said too much out loud.

Scootaloo's eyes went wide at Rarity's comment and avoided her eyes. Wow. Umm t.m.i.

"You didn't hear that... As Sweetie's big sister I don't think it's my place to interfere with her life." Rarity looked at Scootaloo, "if you hurt her in anyway, I will beat your flank 'till it's black and blue." Scootaloo gulped and lowered her head, cowering under Rarity's glare.

"I - I would never hurt her..."

"I know dear you have my blessing. Now, where is that date of yours." Rarity said smiling down at Scootaloo.

"This is so exciting! I can't believe you three pulled this off! I can't wait to tell the princess all -" Twilight broke off, distracted by a small figure coming down the stairs.

Scootaloo spun around and looked at the stairs. She felt her heard skip a beat and her jaw drop as she noticed Sweetie Belle standing there in the most gorgeous gown she had ever seen. Sweetie Belle had a dark blue satin dress with silver embroidering. She was wearing a silver necklace with a blue heart shaped jade. Her shoes were light blue that sparkled in the light with dark blue bows at the top. Her mane was tied up in a bun with a matching blue ribbon.

"How do I look?" Sweetie Belle asked noticing everypony staring at her.

"Divine dear, simply divine!" Rarity beamed at her.

"Really pretty." Twilight concurred.

"You look really pretty Scoots." Sweetie Belle said walking up to Scootaloo and giving her a quick peck on the lips.

"Thanks. You look so pretty, gorgeous - unbelievable!" Scootaloo said nervously trying to find the words.

"Awww. You two are just adorable. First date! This is soooo cute!." Rarity squealed. "The gala starts in an hour and a half. I have dinner ready so come in and eat. Carefully, I don't want those gowns ruined before you get there."

Scootaloo walked next to Sweetie Belle in silence as they made their way to Sweet Apple Acres. She would look over at Sweetie Belle periodically to take in her beauty. She is so pretty, I'm the luckies filly in Equestria to have her.

"You're so cute Scoots. I see you checking me out, just can't get enough can you?" Sweetie Belle teased.

"You're the cute one... and no I can't." Scootaloo kissed her on the cheek grinning. "I think you'll have to turn down your cuteness or I won't be able to keep my hooves off you."

"What if I don't want you to?" Sweetie Belle taunted swaying her hips a little bumping into Scootaloo.

Scootaloo stopped walking abruptly. Sweetie Belle stopped and looked at Scootaloo a little confused. Scootaloo smiled and wrapped her forelegs around Sweetie Belle's neck. "Your wish is my command." Scootaloo leaned in kissed her on the lips pushing her tongue into Sweetie Belle's mouth. They broke apart after a few minutes, staring into each other's eyes.

"We are going to be late..." Sweetie Belle said kissing Scootaloo on lips.

"Then stop kissing me. Gosh." Scootaloo said in mock annoyance.

"You know I can't resist you." Sweetie Belle nuzzled Scootaloo's neck causing her to shiver. "But yeah we should get moving again. We're kinda the hosts."

"Yeah we should." She kissed Sweetie Belle on the cheek then released her embrace and together they started walking to the apple orchard. "I can't wait to see Apple Bloom with Spike. I'm gonna tease her flank off." Scootaloo said cheerfully.

They arrived at the barn and Scootaloo could see lots of ponies gathered around the barn, some were dressed up nicely and others weren't dressed up at all. I can tell which ones are only here for the cider. As they entered the barn Scootaloo quickly caught sight of Apple Bloom in a nice sparkling red dress that matched her mane and tail. Next to Apple Bloom stood Spike in a sleek black tux. Spike had an arm around Apple Bloom's neck as they walked together. They are cute together...

"Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle! Wow you two look amazing!" Apple Bloom called out after noticing her friends.

"You don't look so bad your self." Scootaloo said. "That's really sweet of Spike, such a gentlecolt." Scootaloo teased. Spike and Apple Bloom instantly turned red. "Awww so cute together aren't they Sweetie?" Sweetie Belle nodded and Apple Bloom responded by sticking her tongue out. Scootaloo smiled at Spike then turned to Sweetie Belle and kissed her on the lips pushing her tongue into her mouth.

Spike's jaw dropped as he watched the two fillies make out right in from of him. "Wow, that's something..." Apple Bloom just rolled her eyes at him.

"We gotta get this thing started." Apple Bloom said. "Up here in front there are hay bails to stand on and a microphone, follow me." Apple Bloom said as she pushed her way through the crowd to the front of the barn. The four of them made their way onto the hail bail stage. "Wow, pretty good turnout." Apple Bloom said impressed by the number of ponies that filled the barn. Most eyes had fallen on them as they stood over everypony. Apple Bloom tapped the microphone causing a bit of feedback which was followed by a dead silence as everypony now diverted their eyes to the four of them on the stage. "The Cutie Mark Crusaders and the Apple family would like to present to y'all The Sweet Apple Acres Cider Gala! Hang out, dance and drink some of our amazing cider!" She said cheerfully into the microphone. She nodded at Scootaloo to turn the jukebox on. Everypony cheered as the music boomed. Apple Bloom kicked the party cannon filling the barn with lots of multicolored bits of confetti.

"Dance?" Sweetie belle said to Scootaloo.

"Love to." Scootaloo said and they jumped down from the hail bails and found a spot on the dance floor. Scootaloo did as many spins and twirls as she could in front of Sweetie Belle, doing her best to impress her. Sweetie Belle was simply rocking from one side to another to the beat of the music.

"Wow Scoots, you are such a good dancer." Sweetie giggled.

"And you are too cute." Scootaloo pulled off another spin on one hoof stopping in inches from Sweetie Belle's muzzle. She leaned forward a little and pecked her on the lips quickly putting her other legs on the ground. She put both of her forehooves on Sweetie Belle's cheeks pulling her head in. Scootaloo looked her directly in the eyes then kissed her passionately. They kissed through three songs before Sweetie Belle broke the kiss and looked around embarrassed. Scootaloo giggled bashfully. She planted a kissed on Sweetie Belle's cheek. "Cider?"

"Oh, yeah. Let's get some before it's all gone!"

Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle made their way over to the refreshment table. Scootaloo could see many ponies on the dance floor having a good time. Pinkie Pie was bouncing around cheerfully dancing with random ponies, Miss Cheerilee was dancing in a line dance with Applejack and several others. She spotted Twilight and Rarity off to the side. From the looks of it, Twilight was getting a dance lesson from her.

"Hey kid, nice party. Cute date!" Rainbow Dash appeared out of the crowd smiling. "I was only gonna show up for the cider but I couldn't leave without showing off my awesome dance moves." Rainbow Dash boasted then rushed off to join the line dance.

Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle approached the table where they saw Fluttershy standing behind the table serving everypony cider.

"Aren't you gonna dance Fluttershy?" Scootaloo asked.

"Oh, um yes I was. I'm just filling in for Applejack so she can have some fun too." Fluttershy said softly as she filled two cups of cider. "Here you go."

Scootaloo gulped down the cider smacking her lips. She scanned the dance floor until she saw Apple Bloom and Spike dancing to a slow song. Spike had his arms around Apple Bloom's neck as the slowly revolved on the spot. Scootaloo nudged Sweetie Belle and pointed them out.

"Awww."

"I bet they kiss." Scootaloo said watching them. "Right at the end of the song." She continued to watch them as the song faded and finally came to an end. Apple Bloom and Spike looked into each other's eyes, he leaned in and kissed her on the lips for a second the pulled back blushing.

"Ha! So called it!"

"Awww, that was so sweet!" Sweetie Belle squeaked. Scootaloo started to make her way over to them but came to abrupt halt as she felt something tugging her tail. She turned her head to see Sweetie Belle holding her tail in he mouth. Sweetie Belle released her, "Scoots, Apple Bloom was very sweet to leave us alone that one night..."

"Yeah, you're right... I can tease her latter." Sweetie Belle looked shot her a sharp look. "What? She teased my flank off, it's only fair I get her back."

"Oh, she was just trying to help and I'm glad she did. Things may have been different if she didn't."

"Oh come on! I would have asked you out... eventually." Scootaloo smiled and nuzzled her neck. Sweetie Belle cooed happily. "Want to go outside for some air Sweetie?"

"Sure."

It was a nice warm night without a cloud in the sky. Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle sat on the grass, she could hear the music in the distance. She sat on her haunches and looked out over the orchard enjoying the nice warm night. She turned her head to Sweetie Belle, staring into her big green eyes. She leaned in and kissed Sweetie Belle on the lips. She took a step forward pushing Sweetie Belle backwards, forcing her tongue into Sweetie Belle's mouth. She took another step forward and Sweetie Belle wrapped her forelegs around Scootaloo and pulled Scootaloo down on top of her. Scootaloo pulled her mouth off of Sweetie Belle's and kissed down her neck then back to her mouth, their tongues reconnecting. Scootaloo put her hooves on Sweetie Belle's flank rubbing her hindquarters. She pulled away again nibbling on Sweetie Belle's ear. She could hear Sweetie Belle's breathing become heavy as she left very wet kisses down her neck.

"Oh, Scootaoo, I love you so much." Sweetie Belle moaned as Scootaloo went back up to nibble her ear. "Oh, mmmm." Sweetie Belle squirmed under Scootaloo. "Oh, take me home Scootaloo. Make this my special night."
