I get the shock of my life when my favourite rainbow comes to town

I used to think that life was boring. Same routine everyday. Get up, go to school, learn, go home, go to bed. But when everyone's favourite rainbow comes to town and follows me home, things get magical!

I put the comedy tag on because of the random bits of comedy.

Chapter One: A Surprise Like No Other

View Online

I don't know where to begin so I'll begin at the beginning.

I got woken up with a pillow in the face. Not a pleasant way to wake up. I got up, still wearing my pyjamas, and started walking to the wardrobe when my brother rugby-tackled me to the floor. Again, not a pleasant experience. I got back up, got dressed and walked to the bus for school.

I got on the bus, talked to my one mate. Jack. We talked about all kinds of things. But whenever I mention the words brony, pony, MLP or anything related, he just changes the subject or calls me weird for liking it.

I got off the bus and went to reg where I got 3 rulers and about 6 pens in the face or head. That's a new record actually. Did my lessons, went to break, went back, did more lessons and went home.

Here's where it gets interesting. When I was crossing the school courtyard, I saw a small cyan dot fly across the sky followed by a faint rainbow that disappeared quickly. Dismissing my obviously pony-related thoughts, I continued my jolly way to the bus home. I got on it after a 5 minute argument with the bus driver. Then I saw it again. I thought there is no way that the same hallucination can happen twice. So I kept my eye on the sky. About half way through the long journey, I saw the one and only Rainbow Dash flying just outside the bus window. She saw me. Or, more importantly, she saw I wasn't a pony. She stared at me like I was an animal in a zoo. By this point, I could have sworn I was high. I decided to just play along and hope for the best. I mouthed the words "Follow me." She gave me a uneasy stare. This time, I mouthed "Trust me." She just flew upward.
The bus stopped at the stop where I was to get off. I called softly. "Rainbow Dash." I saw her poke her head over the side of the bus and soon after she jumped down. I couldn't believe my eyes. I told her to follow me home. Again, an uneasy stare. But I managed to convince her I ment no harm.

"So how did you get here?" I couldn't hold the curiosity any longer.

She was reluctant to speak.

"It's ok, I won't hurt you."

"Failed spell." She said quietly.

"What spell was it?"

"It was supposed to teleport us to Phillydelphia."

"Why didn't you just take the train?"

"Too expensive." Rainbow stopped in her tracks. She glanced at me with confusion. "Wait, how did you know we had a train where I live?"

"Long story, I'll tell you when we get home."

_______________________________________

I walked through my front door. I had told Rainbow Dash to wait for me to open the window so my parents didn't see her. Sure enough, I opened the window and she flew in.

Rainbow was getting impatient. "Ok, we're home. Now tell me that 'long story'."

"Well, in a nutshell, you're on a show called My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and I enjoy watching it."

"Come again?"

"Ugh. I'll just show you."

I got out my laptop and loaded up one of the episodes.

_______________________________________

Rainbow was confused. "So, you're telling me that every day of my life is on the internet?"

"Well, not just your life. And it's actually every week. Not every day. You see, every week, there is a new episode. Sometimes it's based around you, sometimes it's based around the others. For example, the latest was based on Twilight and how she tried to stop a disaster by: Observing everything, doing nothing and breaking into the Canterlot Archives."

"So you know all about me?"

"Well, not all about you. But I do know a fair amount."

"What competition did I win?"

"Best Young Fliers."

"What did I do to win it?"

"A sonic rainboom and you saved Rarity and the Wonerbolts from certain death."

"Ok you win."

We shared a moment of awkward silence. Until I broke it like an idiot. "Gay baby."

"What?"

"Oh, every time there is an awkward silence, I shout that out to break it. I've always hated awkward silences."

"Couldn't you have said something different?"

"Probably, but it's an old habit of mine."

"Ok then. No more silence around you."

We laughed. "So how are you going to get home?"

"Odds are Twilight will do a spell to bring herself where I am and bring me back."

"You look tired."

"Well being teleported to Celestia-knows where will do that to you."

It was then that I noticed we were both sitting on the floor. I got up and sat on the bed. I signalled for her to jump up. "Come on, you need some sleep." She came up and curled up in a little ball. I started to stroke her mane. She mumbled something.

"What was that?"

"You hoof feels nice."

"It's called a hand here. But for you, it would still be a hoof."

"Could you massage my back? Aloe and Lotus never do it good for me. Plus my wings hurt from flying around scared out of my mind."

"Yeah sure." I started to rub my hands around her neck and upper back. Digging the fingers in a little. She moaned, signalling that she liked it.

"Wow. You should come back to Ponyville and become a massager."

"I probably should." I started to get a little lower on the back, remembering she said her wings we sore. I started to massage the base. "Could you lay your wings flat on the bed?"

She let them droop to the mattress. I worked my way up to the middle. I started to put more pressure on. She gave a heavy moan of relaxation. She stretched out so she was now laying flat on her stomach. I continued to massage until she was asleep. She was so cute when she was asleep.

"We got a big day tomorrow."

Author Note. I kinda just put this in here to reach the 1000 word minimum for uploading a story. But anyway, as always, criticism is not only welcome but encouraged. Let me know if I misspelt something for put it in the wrong context or any other error. Remember to like if you like it! :)

Chapter Two: The Big Day

View Online

I woke up the next day to see Dash curled up, perfectly fitting into the curve of my belly. I slowly lifted my watch so as not to wake her. It was 5:00 am. I figured I would get up since I was due to do so in an hour anyway. I pondered on how to get off the bed without waking the sleeping pegasus. Eventually I decided to just slip down and off the bed. I slowly started to slide down. "So far so good." I whispered. My feet touched something. How could I have been so stupid as to forget that I had a bookshelf at the end of my bed! I mentally barraged myself with questions on how I could forget such an obvious thing. Then I noticed something. From where I was, I could duck down and slide below her. I just hoped she didn't buck in her sleep. I slowly stared to crouch down. I heard Rainbow mutter something in her sleep. "Wonderbolts..... Yeah." I froze in place. I was so still that people would have thought I had a staring contest with a Cockatrice. Oh wait, we don't have Cockatrices here. Nevermind. Anyway, Rainbow started to roll over. She threw her front leg over where I was mere seconds ago. I blushed softly at the image of waking up like that. I finally finished my slither off of the bed at 5:05. These things should not take five minutes! I walked over to the wardrobe to get changed and realised. I'm still in my school uniform. There was no need to get changed. I decided to wake Dash up. She would need to be awake before I went to school, anyway. I gave her a little nudge. "Rainbow Dash?" She started to mumble something about dresses and 20% cooler. I gave her another nudge. "Rainbow Dash? You need to get up."

"Mum, go away ."

I giggled a little. "Rainbow, this isn't your mum."

"Go away Dad."

"Wrong again."

She turned over slightly and turned her head to face me. She half opened one eye to get a look at me. As soon as she grasped reality, she started to stand up. She stretched out her wings and her legs. As soon as she was finished, she collapsed on the bed. "Five more minutes."

"Fine. But once the five minutes are up, you get up. Ok?"

"Yeah whatever."

___________Five minutes later___________

"Come on sleepy head! Time to get up!" I started pushing her. "Get up!"

"Go away!"

"You said you would get up in five minutes. It's been five minutes!"

"Ok fine, ten minutes!"

"We had an agreement."

"Oh for Celestia's sake fine. I'll get up." Rainbow Dash started to get up. "So, why am I awake before mid-day?"

"Firstly, I have school and you can't stay here while I'm there. So I either need to hide you or take you with me. Secondly, you need to learn to get up early in the morning 'cause when you're in my home on a weekday, this will happen every morning. Sorry but education isn't a choice."

"I can see this is going to be fun." She said. Obviously being sarcastic.

"In the five minutes you where dozing, I was choosing whether or not to take you to school with me. I chose yes."

"Won't everypony wonder what I am?"

"Firstly, here it is everybody. Secondly, not if you stay out of sight. Now I have exams today so I will need you to be patient."

"I don't do patient." She jumped off the bed and started to walk around.

"I know. But I still need you to do something to occupy yourself without straying too far from the school."

"K. Where can I take a wiz?"

"Depends on if you have the same toilets as us."

"I'll just do it outside."

"Come straight back up here when you're done."

"K."
She's more sarcastic and annoying than I am...

_________________________

we were walking to the bus stop. Or rather, I was walking. She was trotting. Before we got to the stop, I told her to fly above the bus. She flew up and perched herself on top of a building and waited for the bus.

When the bus arrived, I gave a quick nod to Dash. I got on the bus and went through the boring ticket thing again. Just like yesterday. I took a seat in the same place as ever. Talked to Jack. Mentioned ponies. Awkward silence. Got off the bus and went straight to the sports hall for the exam. I gave a noticeable but subtle thumbs up to Rainbow Dash. She flew up and sat on the roof of the sports hall and waited for me to come out. I mentioned to her before-hand that I wouldn't come out when the others came out. I would be coming out 5 minutes before they did.

The exam was boring to say the least. 1 hour for science. 1 hour for maths. 1 hour for english. Then the end of school. It was a half day because of the exams. After I was dismissed, I walked at a casual speed as not to attract un-wanted attention. Again, I gave a noticeable thumbs up to Dash. I heard her take off as I walked to somewhere I knew we wouldn't be seen.

As I walked through the door of the afore mentioned place of the meeting, I stood somewhere warm and waited for Dash. Sure enough, a few seconds later, she came trotting through the door.

"So when do you think Twilight is going to come and find you?"

"Soon I hope. Not that I don't like it here, but I'd rather be home. Tank is probably so worried."

"Do you think I might be able to come with you?"

"I hope so."

"Wait a second."

"What is it?"

"Shh. Do you hear that?"

"Hear what?" Rainbow adjusted her ears in all directions possible. She stopped. "Hoofsteps."

"I'll correct you later. We need to go. Quick, up the stairs."

Rainbow Dash started to hover up the stairs. She turned her head to see I was still standing there. "Aren't you coming?"

"No, I will be up in a few minutes once I know they're gone."

"Ok, just don't get yourself hurt." She continued up the stairs. She turned the corner just before the door opened.

A feeling of relief flooded over me as I saw who it was. "Oh, hi Neeky."

"Hi Josh! How are you?"

I should probably tell you who Neeky is. Neeky is Jack's sister.

"Well, I'm ok. You?"

"I'm ok. These exams are really hard!"

"I know. I need to show you something. Wait here."

I went up-stairs to fetch Dash. What I found was far from what I needed to see. Dash was cornered by the nastiest kids in school. And something else. Rainbow was crying and she had a bruise on her side, a cut on her lip and a black eye.

"What do you want from me?"

"We want to know what you are, where you come from and why you can talk!"

"I told you that already!"

"Yeah, like we're going to believe that you're a pony from Equestria." The kid in the middle gave Dash a kick to the stomach.

I couldn't stand to see this go on any longer. I had to do something but what? If I went in there, they would beat me up. The only thing that seemed logical was to run. But then again, I just met a magical talking pony from Equestria yesterday. What logic that was left in this world was already gone. While thinking about what I was going to do, I heard Dash scream in pain. I turned my head just in time to see the kid on the left pull his hands away from Dash's wing. I couldn't stand it anymore. I grabbed the nearest object, which happened to be a long stick, and tripped up the guy on the right. I then proceeded to smack the guy in the middle in the stomach and the other guy in the family jewels. Since they were taking care of, I turned my attention to Dash.

"Are you ok?"

"They broke my wing!"

"Shh, it's ok. We'll fix that. Right now, we need to get you home."

I picked her up and she wrapped her arms around my neck. She clung tightly as to assure that she wouldn't fall. I made sure as not to touch her broken wing. I carried the bruised and battered Rainbow Dash downstairs to Neeky. I forgot she was down there. But I was glad she was. Her mum was picking her up from school today. As she came into view, I started to explain what had happened. Luckily, I didn't need to explain Rainbow Dash because she was a pegasister.

"So I need a lift home. I need to draw the least amount of attention as possible."

"Sure. We need to wait for the kids in the courtyard to go first." She peeked out the window. "Just a few left."

My shoulder was getting wet from the tears of the battered and bruised pegasus I was holding.

A few minutes later, Neeky gave the all clear for the courtyard. We slowly made our way to her Mother's car. When we got their, the questions came flooding in. I said I would explain on the way.

She started up the car and we headed home.

___________________________

As we pulled up to the drive-in of my home, I noticed my parents car wasn't there. Luckily, today was the shopping day. I didn't expect them to be back until about 9. I carried Rainbow Dash, who had now fallen asleep after leaving a sizeable puddle on me shoulder, upstairs to my room. Neeky followed shortly after.

"So how are we going to fix her?" Neeky was looking over Rainbow.

I thought for a while and performed a diagnosis in my head. "Various cuts and bruises, a broken wing and a black eye..... Go get some vodka from my dads alcohol cupboard and then get me some bandages."

"Ok." She walked off to get the item I asked for.

Rainbow Dash was starting to stir. "Rainbow? Do you feel any better?"

"No." She looked over at her wing. "How am I going to fix this in this place?"

"Don't worry. I used to look after birds at the local vet. They said they needed small, nimble hands to bandage such little creatures."

"In case you hadn't noticed, I'm not a bird."

"I know, but your wing structure is the same. On the journey here, I had a look at your good wing. A birds wing is very similar."

Just then, Neeky walked in with the items.

"Now Rainbow, this is probably going to hurt a lot. But I need to do this to stop the risk of infection."

"Yeah, yeah just get on with it."

I lifted up one of Dash's legs. This one was the worst when it came to the scratches. If I hadn't of known better I would have thought they had a knife. I started to drop on some of the vodka. She inhaled through clenched teeth. I could tell she hated it and wanted me to stop but it had to be done.

Many cuts and even more bucks to the chest later, I was done. She laid there, half crying and half cheering because it was over.

"And now it's time to bandage the wing."

"Oh no."

I started to bandage her wing. I had to make her close it so I could bandage it easier. I wrapped the bandage over her damaged wing and under the other. I did this about 5 or 6 times and then finally tied a knot to stop it from coming free.

"Well that was hell and back. Sorry about hitting you. It's kind of a reflex."

"It's ok. I've done that loads of times before." I looked up at the clock. "Oh no. It's 9:00. My parents will be back any second now!"

"I gotta go under the bed again don't I?"

"Sadly, yes. If my parents see you here they'll probably throw you out on the streets."

"That's harsh."

"I know."

"Come on, under the bed."

I lifted up the bed enough for her to crawl under. Just as I was lowering it, my parents walked into the room.

"Why is she here?" My dad was pissed. He doesn't like it when I have friends over when no one's around.

"Oh, ummmm." I needed to think of an excuse and fast! "She.. uh...."

"He needed help fixing up a bird. We just let her go." Thanks Neeky. You saved my butt.

"Ummm yeah, that. Let's go with that."

He stared at me for a while. I am a terrible liar. Worse than Applejack. I was smiling like an idiot and could feel a bead of sweat forming on my forehead. I was just about to break when he said.

"Ok then. She should get home now. Her parents will be wondering where she went."

"Yeah, ok."

"And you can go to bed."

"Can I watch a film?"

"Fine. As long as it's none of that pony stuff." He walked out of the door asking himself why I watch ponies. To be honest, I don't know myself. I just do. I waited until he was downstairs before I lifted up the bed for Dash to climb out from under it.

"What does he have against ponies?"

"He thinks they're for girls."

"Come to think of it, there are more mares than stallions in ponyville......"

"Really?"

"Yeah. Last Pony Census proved it."

"Oh well, bed time."

"Seriously?"

"Yes seriously. Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man wealthy, healthy and wise. Or in this case, mare."

"Fine."

Chapter three: The Weekend

View Online

I woke up with a heavy weight on my chest. I began to slowly open my eyes to see what it was. Rainbow Dash was laying on top of me. She had her head resting on my chest with her tongue drooled out over her lips. Her entire body length was on top of me. You wouldn't believe how heavy she was. I could hardly breathe with her massive weight bearing on my chest and stomach. I needed to get her off of me. Since it was a weekend, I decided to let her wake up on her own. I slid her off of my chest slowly. One bit at a time. Then I slid the rest of her off my stomach. I stood up from the bed and looked down at her. Believe it or not, ponies can curl up in a rather small ball compared to their normal height. She was about waist height when standing on her four legs. Maybe a bit smaller. I noticed her move a little. She was shivering slightly. I realised I had slept with the window open. I took the blanket and pulled it over her. With that problem solved, I needed to solve another. I stunk. I had slept in my clothes for 2 days and hadn't changed either. Time for a shower. I quickly wrote down a note for Rainbow in-case she woke up when I was gone and headed to the bathroom for a shower. Just as I was about to walk in to the bathroom, my idiot of an older brother tugged my shirt back, throwing me to the ground, and ran in.

"Too late!" He shouted from the other side of the door.

I whispered multiple curses at him as I headed back to my room. I walked in to find Rainbow awake. I guessed the sound of my back slamming against the floor woke her.

"What was that?"

"My stupid brother being nasty. Again."

"Bring him here. I'll show him a thing or two." She jumped up on her hind legs and started punching the air in front of her.

"No can do Dash. No one can see you."

Rainbow landed back on her front hooves. She looked at me with a sideways expression."Why not?"

I didn't have an answer. I had to make something up. "Because..... Well, you know what those guys did to you in school?"

She pulled her hoof over to her bandaged wing "Can't forget quite yet."

"Well, what if other people want to do that to you?"

"I doubt others will be so mean."

"Maybe not, but you're not from this world. They might call the police and you'll be taken somewhere for scientific examination."

"Your world doesn't sound like a nice one."

"Well, that's life here. Nothing is good unless your rich. Even then, people just use you for your money."

"Wow. My world is so much nicer. Sure, there are stuck up snobs like Prince Blueblood. But we don't get ponies like the people you have here."

"Well I have to deal with it and so will you for the duration you're here. I'm afraid we don't have a choice."

"You should come and live in Ponyville with me and my friends."

"I might just do that. Giving that my parents don't care about me and my brother uses me as his stress relieving punching bag."

Just then, an explosion of white light blinded me. I heard lots of wind and sparks. This reminded me of something. Another explosion of light and then it stopped. My eyes adjusted to the darker light. I went to lean up but quickly found myself pinned down. I heard several faint voices. Once the ringing in my ears had stopped, I could hear what they were saying. And I recognised the voices to.

"Rainbow, we were so worried." Pinkie Pie said in her usual fast way.

"I'm so sorry about the spell. Next time we'll just pay for tickets." Twilight was too busy apologising to notice me.

Rarity wasn't. "Applejack! That is no way to treat a foreign species. Get off of him at once!"

"Guys, Calm down. I'm fine. He took care of me." Rainbow pointed to me.

Applejack was the first to notice the cuts and the bandage. "Looks more like he beat ya!"

"No, I-" I tried to explain but was quickly met with a hoof stuffed in my mouth that stopped me from proceeding

"Shut up!" Applejack shouted

"Applejack, let him go." Twilight said.

"But-"

Rainbow interrupted. "Let him go."

Applejack proceeded to stand up. Twilight picked me up with her magic and put me on the bed so I was sitting.

Just then, the last thing I wanted to happen, happened.

"NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN."

All the heads darted to face me. "How is he talking without moving his mouth?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"Oh. That's my phone." I pulled out my blackberry to check who it was. It was Neeky. "Sorry, this will only take a minute."

I answered the phone. "Hey Neeky."

"Hey, How's Rainbow Dash doing?"

"She's doing fine. The rest of them aren't."

"Rest of them?"

"They're all here."

"I'll be there in a minute."

"Please hurry."

I hung up and turned to face the five ponies. Wait. Five? Shouldn't there be six? I counted them all in my head.

"Where's Fluttershy?" I asked. They all looked around and found that Fluttershy wasn't there. I knew where she was. It's obvious she would be hiding. I checked behind my TV and sure enough, there's Fluttershy with her hooves covering her head. "Found her."

They all came to me and looked where I was looking.

Twilight spoke first. "Fluttershy, what are you doing behind there?"

"H-h-h-hiding."

I did my best to console the terrified pagasus. "It's ok Fluttershy, I wont hurt you. Rainbow Dash can vouch for me there."

"Yeah. He took me in when I was flying around frighte- I mean practising my tricks!" She looked around to see if anyone had caught her out.

For a brief moment, she looked up. She peered around at the ponies looking at her. Then she saw me. She jumped up at me from behind the television and tackled me to the floor.

"A human! I know about you! Are we on earth? How did Twilight's spell fail that badly?"

Twilight gave Fluttershy a 'you'll pay for that later' look.

"Everyone be quiet a second." I trained my ears to a noise. Footsteps. The noise had woken my dad "Oh no, it's my dad! Everyone out the window!"

I opened the window for the ponies to crawl out of. Just as I was closing the window, I heard the door handle turn. I quickly shut the window and turned around. As I saw who it was, I let out a breath that I hadn't realised I was holding. "Oh hey Neeky."

"Hey. Where are they?"

"Right now, on the roof 'cause I thought you were dad."

"Hahahaha. Let them in."

I opened the window and beckoned for them to come back in. As the each crawled in, I counted them to be sure they were all there. Six ponies. Perfect.

"Everypony, I would like you to meet Neeky."

They all muttered their greetings. Except for Twilight. She was busy mumbling different scientific equations and telling herself that this wasn't possible.

"Twilight? Hello?" I waved my hand in front of the unicorn. She responded by jumping back. A few seconds later, she realised it wasn't a hoof and started to look around at it.

"What are you doing?"

"That hoof.... What is it?"

"That can wait. Right now, we need to get everyone back to Ponyville." Rainbow Dash said. Then she pointed at me. "And he's coming with us."

"Can I come?" Neeky said with excitement.

Twilight was still in a trance with my hand. "Yeah... Sure...."

"Ok then, let's go."

"Wait, I need a shower first. And a few changes of clothing." I hurried off to the shower. Just as my brother was walking out of it. I slipped past him, closed and locked the door, and got a shower.

Chapter Four: Back To Equestria

View Online

Satisfied that I know smelled decent for inter-dimensional travel, I started the long, tiring 5 meter walk to my room. I Had brought a change of clothes with me to the shower so I didn't have to change in-front of 6 ponies. Plus a human girl. I walked into the room and saw something very strange and slightly disturbing. Twilight was doing scientific experiments on Neeky's hand.

"So you must be some kind of primate then?" Twilight asked.

Neeky pondered for a moment "I guess you could say that. Charles Darwin said that we evolved from primates."

"I have to study your race more back in Ponyville."

I decided to chip in. "Well, we can do that when we're actually in Ponyville."

Twilight turned her head toward me. "Oh yes, about that. I wont be able to teleport you all at the same time. I'll have to do two of you at a time. First, Applejack and Rarity. Then Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. Then you and your friend. Then me and Rainbow."

"I think you should swap Rarity and Rainbow."

"Why?"

"Because Rarity is another unicorn, she can help you in teleporting. Reduce some of the load of of yourself."

Rarity didn't like the sound of exerting so much pressure onto herself, but she did like the idea of helping her friend. "Well, as much as I hate teleporting, I agree with our human friend here. Even for such a powerful unicorn like yourself, teleporting 6 ponies and two humans through a different dimension is too much to handle."

"Well, I suppose. Come on Rarity, the sooner this is done, the sooner we can sleep."

I hadn't noticed how tired they all looked. It must have been days since they last slept.

The two unicorns took position and got ready to take us all across a dimension. Their horns started to glow an intense mix of purple and blue. The room filled up with light. Then it happened. I heard a scream from the direction of the two unicorns. It sounded like Twilight. Before I could move, the whole world disappeared in a flash. I knew I was still conscious because I could hear a wind rustling the leaves. I lifted my head to examine what happened. All six ponies were out cold. I scanned the environment. We were in a forest. There were no forests where I lived. So either Twilight's spell had failed and created a forest, she teleported us across the world and into a random forest or, and the worst of all, we were in the Everfree Forest. I got up from my resting place on the cold, muddy floor of the forest. Needless to say my shower was pointless. I noticed that Neeky hadn't been teleported with us. However, my thoughts were quickly hushed as I heard a growl from behind. I quickly spun my head to the source. I saw a pair of red eyes scurrying toward me. I stood still, petrified. I tried to will my limbs to move but they refused. I saw the eyes get lower. So low that they almost touched the floor. I looked directly at the eyes. They moved out of the shadows to reveal a small bunny. I let out a large exhale from the breath I had been holding. It was then that I recognised five other pars of eyes. Each hurrying to the bunny. As they each stepped out of the shade, saw what they were. An owl, a cat, a dog, a Tortoise and an alligator. My head going a million miles a minute, quickly put the pieces together. These were the pets of the ponies! So we were in the Everfree forest. I heard the ponies start to wake up behind me. I turned around to aid them. Twilight was the first to get up. Also the first to notice the pets.

"Owlawicious?"

"Hoo!" Owlawicious flew over to Twilight.

Once they were all up and re-united with their pets, I asked Owlawicious to help us get out of the Everfree forest. He led the way back to Ponyville.

On the way back, Twilight had pointed out multiple times that I'd be staying with her. One of her reasons was: "So I don't need to call for you so I can examine you." This was one that I wasn't so happy about. However the vast amount of other reasons made me ok about it.

Chapter Five: What The Hell Is Going On.

View Online

We reached Twilight's library in haste. By now I was calmly panicking about the location of my friend. Twilight opened the door with her magic and was greeted by spike curled up in a corner muttering to himself. Upon noticing her, Spike jumped up and hugged her leg.

"Oh Twilight, it was horrible! This strange creature that res... Resem...."

"Spike, don't use long words if you don't know how to say them properly."

"Right, sorry. Anyway, this thing looked like an ape without fur! Except it had hair on it's head."

I peeped my head from behind Twilight. Spike looked up, noticed me and ran back screaming.

"Spike, calm down. These creatures mean no harm." She gestured to me. "This one actually helped Rainbow Dash when I..... Messed up."

Upon realising that the other creature might have been my friend, I asked spike where it was.

"D-downstairs in the basement." He said, still frightened of me. I walked past him and through the door to the basement. I heard giggling from the room ahead. I continued to walk down until I could see what was happening without being noticed. I saw what looked like the Cutie Mark Crusaders playing with my friend.

"Now that we've caught a monster for real, maybe now we can be Cutie Mark Crusader Creature Catchers." Said Scootaloo.

"Yeah!" Applebloom and Sweetie Belle said in unison. Sweetie Belle squeaking a little.

I clasped my hands over my ears ready for what was to happen.

"CUTIE MARK CRUSADER CREATURE CATCHERS! YEAH!"

The three of them grabbed a rope from a nearby table and threw it around my friend. They proceeded to run around her in circles, each circle tying her up in another layer of rope. When they ran out, they tied a bow and jumped up at her. The force of three fillies jumped at her at once caused her to fall over onto a chair. The four of them laughed together.

"I see you four are having fun." I said, finished my walk down the stairs.

"Josh!" Neeky said. "These three fillies are just one big ball of energy. I can't seem to get them to stand still!"

"That's the Cutie Mark Crusaders for you." I walked over to Neeky to untie her.

"YOU WHAT?!?!"

I looked up to where the shouting had come from. The five of us ran up there as fast as we could. We charged through the open door to find spike on his knees and Twilight standing over him. The other five where as far back as they could get.

"I'm sorry! It freaked me out! I didn't know what else to do!" Spike pleaded.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Spike sent a letter to Princess Celestia just before we arrived. She'll be here any second!"

As if on cue, the front door slammed open and Me and Neeky were enveloped in a yellow aura of magic. I watched as the six ponies spoke with Princess Celestia. It was all inaudible because the magic aura was soundproof. Without warning, the whole library disappeared in a flash. The next thing I new, I was in a prison. With six ponies. Plus Celestia. Looking at me through iron bars.

this isn't going to end well. Last time I read a Fic with prison, humans and a very pissed Celesita, it ended with interrogation. And that had a lot of pain involved. I thought to myself. Thinking never helped me ease my mind. It always made it worse. That's why I never think.

"What planet do you come from?" Celestia asked.

Straight to the business. "Earth.

"I have dealt with your species before. Albeit they were more primal. But the same species. Tell me, how did you master inter-dimensional travel?"

"We haven't yet."

"Then how did you get here?"

"You're going to make me explain every little detail aren't you. Well, if you must know..........."

_________________________

I explained all of what happened from the moment Dash came, to here.

"You don't have to go back if you don't want to." Said Celestia. "From what you have said, your life will be better here."

"I didn't want to go back." It was true. Although I will miss my friends, I would rather live a good life than a bad life with very few friends.

"Sister, What is all the noise?"

"My dear Luna., come down here and meet the new additions to our kingdom."

"But why do we need humans in our kingdom?"

"We do not need them. But they wish to stay so I have granted them that privilege. I have recommended that they stay in the castle until they find a residence in which they can stay. Twilight, could you release them?"

"Yes Princess." A purple beam of light shot toward the lock on the door. It seeped into it and unlocked the door. We both walked out and thanked the Princesses.

"You shall be staying in either mine or Luna's rooms. I'm afraid the guest rooms are filled."

"Thank you Princess."

"Twilight will also be staying."

Twilight looked up at the Princess and politely said. "What?"

Princess Celestia giggled lightly. "Oh Twilight. I believe that this could be a wonderful opportunity for you to study these magnificent creatures."

"Oh. Ok then. Will I be staying in my old tower?"

"Oh but of course! That tower shall remain forever yours my faithful student."

"Thank you princess."

__________________________

I chose to stay in Luna's room. I do think Luna is the best princess. I didn't tell Celestia that. I just made a joke on how I don't like to sleep with the light on. Yeah, it didn't go so well. I was left there looking like an idiot. Luna showed me around her room. The one thing I didn't like was the sleeping arrangement. I would be sleeping in the bed WITH Luna. She was almost twice my size. And that's not counting the horn. I feared that if she were to roll over, I would be crushed. Or if she stabbed me with her horn. But me being to chicken to speak up, I obeyed. That, and the only other option was to sleep on the floor. I crawled into bed and hoped to be asleep before Luna returned from lowering the moon. Thankfully, I was just about asleep when I heard the door creak open. After that, it was all dreams.

Chapter Six: A New Place To Stay

View Online

I woke up to a pair of unblinking magenta eyes. I yelped and rolled out of the bed in a large pile of blankets and pillows. I surveyed my surroundings and found that I was still in Princess Luna's bedroom. But Rainbow Dash was enjoying the bed. Not me. She was rolling around on it having a laughing fit.

"Hey. What gives?"

Rainbow stopped laughing long enough for her to form a sentence. "I was waiting for you to wake up."

"And you thought it was a good idea to stare at me."

"What? You're cute when you're sleeping." Rainbow mentally scolded herself for the choice of words and hoped I didn't notice.

"Did you just say cute?"

Hopes misplaced. "Um no. I said funny."

"Whatever. Why were you waiting for me to wake up?"

"Because I have some great news! I asked the Princess if you could stay at my house and she said yes!" She started jumping around like a school filly who just got an A.

I probably would have given a half-hearted 'yay', but I was too tired to care. I just looked at her with tired, droopy eyes. "Give me a few minutes to 'freshen up' and then we'll go." I was also too tired to think about how I would live in a house made of clouds.

______________________________

After heading to Twilight's Library, Or as she nicknamed it, Sparkle Library, to get a cloud walking spell cast on me, we headed up to Dash's cloud home.

I walked in the door and instantly felt at home. It was a pig sty. It looked like a hurricane had torn through it. It reminded me of my room back home. And then I noticed something. My feet sunk into the cloud up to my ankle.

"Wow. Clouds are really soft. But it really feels like I'm sinking in them."

"That happens. You'll get used to it." Rainbow then proceeded to belly flop on the sofa. She closed her eyes. Seemingly trying to nap.

Something green caught my eye. It was next to the T.V. I walked over to it. I picked it up and looked at it. It was a case. A case for a game on PBox 360. I'm guessing the 'P' meant 'Pony'. It was Dance Evolution on Kinect.

"I take it you like to dance."

Rainbow's eyes shot open She darted toward me and attempted to snatch the case from my hands. She grabbed it and held it against her chest.

"I've already seen it Dash."

Rainbow gave a defeated sigh and slumped down on the floor. "Yeah. It's a sort of hobby."

"Why react like that? Who knows. I might like it too."

"Do you?"

"Maybe. Let's just say I have the high score on 5 songs and created my own."

"I bet you five bits I can beat you."

"You're on!"

______________________________

After playing for about five hours, we both lay on the bed. Fatigued and tired. Both of us were quite happy to just fall asleep right there and then. But a knock on the door interrupted us.

"I'll get it." Rainbow said. Obviously unhappy about getting up. She trotted over to the door and opened it to see a certain purple unicorn on the other side.

"How did you get up here?"

"Irrelevant. Is he here?"

"Yes. Why?"

"I figured out a way to make him.... What's the word..... 'Fit in'."

"In what way?"

"In the way that he becomes a pony! Any kind of pony he wants. Unicorn, Pegasus or Earth Pony."

"Wait here. I'll go get him."

It would be an understatement to say I was happy about this news. I was happy times eight-hundred! After a short journey to the Library, the happiness was gone. Replaced by nerve-racking worry. I'm that kind of person. I can't do anything without thinking about what could go wrong. What if I get turned into a combination of a pony and a human? A human with hooves and fur! I sat still, waiting for inevitable doom. The room illuminated. This is it. I'm going to die. Or be alienated from everyone. That would be worse than dying. I thought. Just then I noticed that my thoughts wander from topic to topic. Before I knew it I was thinking about cake. How did I get from certain death to cake? My thoughts were quickly dismissed as a purple beam tore through the air and lodged itself into the middle of my chest. It kept going in. The beam stopped being produced from the source and the start came rushing to meet me. After that, it went black.

_________________________________

I woke up with my face buried in the floor. I pulled it off of the floor and looked up to see two ponies. A unicorn looking at me with a giant smile that threatened to rip her face in two. And a pegasus looking at me with her jaw hitting the floor. Not literally, of course.

"Did it work?" I say.

The two ponies gave a subtle nod. Each still with the same facial expression.

I pulled my arm up to my face and I saw something different. It wasn't a hand. It was an orange hoof. I looked all over. Orange. Everywhere. I reached up to my head to see what colour my mane was. It was black. Not jet black, but still black. It sort of drooped over my face. Like those kids who have really long hair that covers half of their face.

I felt something unfamiliar on my back. New muscles. I had never experienced anything like this before. It felt so strange. I tried to use the muscles and found a pair of majestic orange wings flare out from my sides. Then I noticed I still hadn't stood up. I planted the bottom of my front hooves on the ground and pushed up. I brought my back hooves in and planted them on the ground. I was now standing. Looking at the two ponies. We were the same size. But I noticed something different about Dash. She no longer looked like just a pony. She looked beautiful. The silky cyan coat flowing gently in the breeze. Her rainbow coloured mane seemed more full with colour. Her magenta eyes seemed to sparkle in the light. My thought train was stopped abruptly by Twilight.

"Now, you may see us differently. You have pony eyes now so you should see us like that show does."

"Yeah. I do."

Rainbow Dash blushed under my gaze. She tried to hide her face. "Stop staring at me." She said with a slight giggle.

"Right. Sorry." I turned my attention to Twilight. "So, how do I learn to fly like a normal pegasus?"

"I'm sure Rainbow Dash would teach you. She is the greatest flier to ever come out of Cloudsdale."

Rainbow blushed even more. It seemed that Twilight noticed it the first time and made it her objective to make it even more intense.

"Yeah. I'll teach you. Come on. I know this awesome place on the outskirts of Ponyville."

Chapter Seven: Flight Training

View Online

"This is it? It's just a barren wasteland!" I said.

"That is to an untrained eye. When you've been flying as long as I have then you see every cactus as an obstacle. See that V shaped one over there? I used that to help me gain precision and timing."

"Well, we can try precision and timing when I can actually get more than an inch off the ground for more than two seconds."

"Right. First, wing exercises. Give me ten wing push-ups!"

I drop down on my belly and brace my new wings by my sides. I place them against the floor and push with all my might..... Nothing.

"Yeah that's not going to happen any time soon. Got anything else?"

"Just flaps. Flap for as long as you can without taking off. My record is ten minutes."

"Doesn't seem that hard."

"Trust me, after three, you'll feel like they're going to fall off."

_______________________________

After doing the flaps for about 4 and a half minutes, I was knackered. I was still going though. I wasn't going to let Rainbow beat me. She was doing them right next to me.

Another minute passed. I started to sweat. My wings felt like they were going to fall off at any second.

Another half a minute. 6 minutes and I started going faster. My wings now used to the up and down motion. I actually began to feel lighter for a second.

One more minute. The only thing going through my mind was Just three more minutes of agonizing pain!

Two more minutes passed. I saw Rainbow start to get tired. She had a sweat breaking out on her forehead. Dampening the coat a little.

Ten more seconds. Then I would win. I began to count them in my head. As soon as I reached zero, I collapsed on the floor. I couldn't take it any-more. I needed to stop.

"Come on. Get up."

"In about an hour."

"No. The soreness is good. The wings are getting used to being used. You should at least be able to hover now."

"Fine." I got up and spread my wings. As they reached full stretch a shot of pain went straight from the tip of my left wing and spread all through my body. I yelped and instantly retracted them. "What was that?" I asked while rubbing my wing with my hoof."

"Probably a wing cramp. I think you overdid it a bit. I have some cream for it at home. Come on. That's enough training for today anyway."

_________________________________________

As Rainbow was rubbing the cream into my wing, I took the time to admire her multicoloured mane. I don't know what happened but ever since I got turned into a pony, I have had this attraction toward her. My heart desires her. I don't know what to do or how to tell her but I know that I must have her. I decided to go for the stupid, yet subtle approach of complimenting her mane.

"You know, your mane is really amazing."

Rainbow hid her face. Presumably from blushing. "Thank you."

"What's the probability that a pony would be born with a mane like yours?"

Rainbow started to pack away the cream. "Unless you're from the Dash family then it's pretty much zero. Our family has a gene mixture that allows more than two colours in our hair. My granny says that we derive from Princess Celestia. But I doubt it's true."

"Who knows. Anything could happen."

"True. But still. It's unlikely."

She sat down next to me on the bed. I rested my hoof on her back.

"Thanks Dash."

"For what?"

"For everything. From the moment you came into my life to right now you've been supportive. Mostly in convincing me I'm not insane but some of it is physical support. Like today."

"Well, it's what I do. Element of Loyalty and all that."

She slumped down a bit and brushed my hoof off her back.

"What's wrong?"

"It doesn't matter. Come one. We need to rest up. I want you hovering by tomorrow."

______________________________________________

By three in the morning, I accepted the fact that I wouldn't be sleeping. I climbed out of bed and headed for the kitchen. As I walked down the stairs, I saw the slight flicker of a candle in the kitchen. I carefully approached the open door. I peeped my head around and what I saw I couldn't comprehend. Rainbow Dash. Hunched over the table. Head cradled in her arms. Weeping. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Rainbow Dash never cries.

"Dash?"

I knew she heard me but she didn't respond.

"Dash? Are you all-right?"

"Go away." She said. Voice muffled by her arms.

"I'm not going to leave my friend in this state without trying to help." I walked over to the chair next to her. I sat down and laid my arm around her.

"Sounds like you should be the element of loyalty."

"Nope. That's your job. I'm just helping a friend in need." I puller her into a hug. She warmly accepted it and she buried her muzzle into my chest.

"So what happened that got you so upset?"

"Just some family issues that I have. Talking about family last night made me remember what I had been pushing out for so long."

"What was it?"

"I abandoned them when they needed me the most. My obsession with The Wonderbolts caused my fathers death. You might not think so by looking at me now but I used to be a farmer. There was really strong winds on the farm. And The Wonderbolts thought it would be a great test to get more people. I'm guessing to test bravery. But my family needed me to help secure the trees and stop them from falling. We got into a big fight and I went off to the audition. When I came back, there was an ambulance. A tree had fallen on my father. His last words were to me. He said 'Reach for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll still touch stars. Work to achieve your goals. Stun The Wonderbolts. Make me proud.' And then he passed away in my arms. I said I would do my best. After that, I left my family and moved here. To Ponyville. A nice quiet town with flight tracks. Ever since that day I have been going to ever Wonderbolts audition and failed every single one."

By that moment we were both in tears. However my eyes were just tearing a little. Rainbow was still crying. Not as much as she was, but still crying. I gently kissed her forehead.

"Don't worry. You'll get there." I stroke her mane. This seems to have a calming affect on her.

"I really like you. Ever since you got turned into a pony, I've seen you differently. You are the most beautiful stallion I have ever seen."

"Like-wise. When I became this, the only thing I could focus on was the silky smoothness of your coat. And the way your mane radiates light. You're the rainbow I see on a rainy day."

"Nice play on words."

"It's my speciality."

"Come one. Let's go to bed." She stood up from her chair and started walking toward the stairs. Then I noticed something. She was walking differently. She seemed to sway more into her steps. And I swear she flicked her tail at me. She turned around and gave me a gaze I will never forget. She had her eyes half closed and a small smile. She batted her eye-lashes and said, "Are you coming?"

I slowly stood up and walking toward her. It was like she was hypnotizing me with that look. I followed her to her room and we both laid down on the bed. I turned on my side and threw my arm over her. She crossed her legs into her chest and scooted in closer. We lay there, in each others embrace, until we both fall asleep.

A/N - I know the relationship starts rather quickly but I didn't want to drag it out for loads of chapters and then get stuck and re-write the chapters. I do that a lot. I make up my mind and then change it. Besides, I needed to do it like this so it fits into the next chapter. And I'm no good at developing things like that.

Chapter Eight. Am I Seriously Going Out With Rainbow Dash?

View Online

As per usual at the beginning of each day, I wake up. This time however, I can't sit up. A blue hoof restrains me to the bed over my chest. I turn my head to the left to see Rainbow Dash cuddled up to me like I was a teddy. Her head using my shoulder as a cushion. It felt really nice. Now for the reason I had to get up. I couldn't feel my arm. I glanced over to Rainbow Dash's clock. I noticed that it was decorated with her cutie mark in the middle and a blue rim. Must have cost quite a bit to have one custom made. Then I noticed it was 9:30.

"I think now is an appropriate time to get out of bed." I whisper to myself. I whispered too loud. Rainbow let out a rather unattractive inward snore and fluttered her eyes a little. I just started giggling like an idiot. For some reason I find it funny when beautiful people, or in this case, ponies, do unattractive things.

"What are you laughing at?" She said tiredly.

"Nevermind." I said, suppressing my laughter. "Let's go get some breakfast."

As if on cue, both our bellies growled. Loudly. "Food sounds like a good idea." She agreed.

We both headed down the stairs and into the kitchen. We got bowls and poured ourselves some PonyO's. The names ponies give these things always amazes and confuses me.

"Your gliding down yourself today."

I almost choked on my cereal. I swallowed the mouthful and spoke. "You need to have better timing with when you say stuff like that." Rainbow started giggling. "Anyway, I can't glide down. I'm kind of afraid of small heights like this."

"Small heights?"

"Yeah, I know. I'm fine with large heights, like the height of Cloudsdale, but small heights, like this, freak me out. I don't know why but they do."

Rainbow was now full on laughing.

"Are you done?" I asked.

"Yeah. Sorry. Anyway, being a pegasus, you have to get over things like that."

"Fine. But while I'm not delusional with fear, push me if I don't go. Even if I tell you not to."

"Will do."

________________________________

After a rather large shove and a very rough landing, I made it to the floor without dying. Lucky me. Now I have to do it off a very large cliff. According to Rainbow, "Hills, cliffs, Mountains and Cloudsdale." Is how you learn to glide. I replaced a hill for a house. Now for jumping off a cliff.

We reached the cliff by mid-day. (It's the same one that the carriage came down in 'Mysterious Mare-Do-Well'.) Needless to say, I was scared. I was once left dangling off a cliff by just my hands after the end gave out. That memory haunts me to this day and I have never been able to go anywhere near one since. And now I had to jump off one. At-least I had wings.

I started off at the top of the road and aimed for the drop at the end. Who designed this road? It's a deathtrap waiting to happen! Just as I was about to start my run, Rainbow called out to me. I turned my head to be met with a pair of lips meeting my own. They were so soft. Like kissing a cloud. Even though my mind objected, the kiss broke.

"For good luck." She said.

I smiled at her and turned back to the road. Rainbow counted down from five. As she said one, I galloped as fast as I could down the road and toward the end. The end came closer and closer until I finally jumped off it. My hooves spread out in front of me and my back ones stretched out behind me. I spread my wings as I glided under the sun. I thought of how awesome I must have looked from below. I glided over several building and the town hall. I braced my legs for a landing as I came above the Ponyville Park. I contacted the ground and broke into a trot. Then stopped. I looked behind me and saw Rainbow Dash flying over. I wish I could properly fly.

"Wow! That was amazing!"

"I bet you could do better."

"Yeah, I could. But you can't even fly yet. I say that's pretty awesome."

"Well, maybe I should learn how to fly."

"It's not hard. Just flap your wings and jump."

I did as she said and flapped my wings. Then I jumped. And then I flew! Well, hovered really. I kinda needed to move to fly.

"How do I move forward?"

"Just tilt your wings a little so they're flapping at a backward angle. Only slightly though. Too much and you'll lose altitude."

I angled them so they were facing slightly to the rear. And I started moving forward. I experimented by flapping my wings faster. Then I moved faster. I pretty much guessed the rest. To turn, I just tilted my body in the direction I wanted to turn. To go up, I tilted my body forward. I was flying at just about Fluttershy speed but I still enjoyed it.

"So, after we wash up, do you want to go out for dinner?"

"Sure. Come on, lets go get a shower."

We both went upstairs and after a mental battle with myself, I decided I could get over my self-consciousness for my marefriend. We both went into the bathroom and stepped into the shower. I turned it on to a hot temperature. Luckily we both like scolding hot showers. The water flowed onto us both and our manes drooped over out faces like a curtain. She looked seductive with her mane over her face. Seductive and beautiful. She reminded me of Earth. Her outside crust is hard. She's not bothered by anything. But her inside core is soft. A sensitive mare. I leaned forward, hoping for another kiss. I had been thinking about the first one all day. I closed my eyes and hoped I didn't get a sponge in the face. My lips met something. It wasn't a sponge. It was her. The feeling of pure ecstasy washed over me. The water only enhancing the effect by giving the feeling of something literally washing over me. I felt something strange push against my lips. It was her tongue. I had never kissed someone like that before. I parted my lips and let her tongue probe around my mouth for a while. Then the kiss broke. We pulled our faces away from each other and opened our eyes slowly. Then I knew it. This was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

Chapter Nine: Couldn't think of a name.

View Online

Once we were both cleaned up, we headed into different bedrooms to get ready. She wouldn't let us do it in the same room because she had a surprise for me. Since we were going somewhere fancy, I just got into a cliche, black and white tuxedo with a bow tie. I combed my mane to the right and back. I looked in the mirror and couldn't help doing a pose or two. To see if I looked half decent. Satisfied that I did, I exited the room and walked down the stairs and waited by the front door.

"I'm almost finished!" Rainbow Dash called out from her bedroom upstairs.

"Take your time!" I called back.

After waiting about five more minutes, I heard a door open. I heard the small sound of hoofsteps on clouds. Then, I saw this beautiful figure descending the stairs. She had the green, blue and purple part of her mane put in a ball at the back, whilst the front red, orange and yellow colours flowed and curled at the end. She had glistening white pearls decorating her front legs, and more on the dress, hair, wings and one as an ear ring on her left ear. The dress was a sky blue with white feathers decorating the bottom rim. She had a shining silver necklace with a glowing sapphire sitting majestically in the slot in the middle.

I just stood there with my mouth agape. Looking like an idiot I bet. But I couldn't really think straight with the picture perfect beauty standing in front of me.

"Do you like it?" She asked, with a small grin on her face.

I snapped out of my trance and managed to nod. She giggled at me.

"You're funny. Come on, let's go."

"Right."

We arrived at the preselected restaurant and sat down at a table. A waiter immediately walked toward the table and laid two menus in the center.

"Today's special is the Lemon Salad with optional Hay Fries." He said with a french accent.

After a quick glance through the menu, I decided I would just have the special. Rainbow ordered the same.

"Very good choice." He said and then walked off.

"So," Rainbow Dash begun. "I'm amazed you learned how to fly so quickly."

"I'm a fast learner. I learned how to play the piano when I was human in just about a week."

"I am lucky to be with someone so talented."

"I'm lucky to be with someone so beautiful. Did Rarity make that dress?"

"Yeah. When you got turned into a pony, the first thing I did was go to Rarity and ask her to make me a dress. She was shocked at first, but it gave her an excuse to turn a picture into a dress. Apparently, she intended it to be my gala dress but decided on something more colourful."

"And it is definitely some of my best work." We both jumped at the sound of Rarity sitting on a table behind us.

"Rarity? Were you listening to our conversation?"

"Not intentionally Rainbow. Although, now I know why you wanted the dress in the first place."

Rainbow blushed slightly. "I didn't tell you because you gossip. If I had told you, then he would have known about this before I had even brought it up."

"Oh Rainbow Dash. Have some faith. You know if you had told me to keep it secret I would have."

"Well, keep it secret." Rainbow said and turned back to me.

The waiter came back and laid our meals in front of us. We both started to dig in happily.

____________________________

After our meals, we headed home. along the way, we ran into Spike.

"Hey guys."

"Hey Spike" We both say in unison.

"Twilight wanted me to invite you to a picnic tomorrow." Spike says, pulling out the invitations.

"What time?" Rainbow asks.

"Noon"

"We'll be there."

"Bye guys." Spike called out as he left.

We continued on our journey home. When we got there, we both kicked off our shoes and laid down on the couch together. We both quietly lay there for about ten minutes. Then we heard a noise from upstairs. I lifted my head and looked toward the stairs.

"Did you hear that?" I ask.

"Yeah. Should we go check it out?"

"No. You stay here. I'll check."

"Be careful." She said as a stand up. I walk toward the stairs and ascend them slowly. I heard another noise coming from the master bedroom. As the door came into sight, I saw a green flash come from underneath. I pushed it open as slow as death and peeked in. As soon as I saw what was inside, I closed the door and gasped at the same time. Changelings! I heard a scream from downstairs and before I knew it, I was running toward the scream. As soon as I entered the living room, I saw two Rainbow Dash's. One passed out on the couch and one standing over her. She turned her head and saw me.

"Stupid Changelings." She said and started to walk toward me. She leaned in for a kiss but I put my hoof against her chest to stop any further advancement. She felt different.

"What's wrong?"

"You're not the real Rainbow Dash." I looked back to the one passed out on the couch. "What have you done to her?" I asked in an angry tone.

"I'm standing right in front of you!"

"Wrong answer."

I pushed her against the wall and saw her disguise falter. She recovered quickly but not quick enough. I had already seen her true form. And she knew. She dropped her disguise and used her rear legs to buck off of her and across the room. By the time I had recovered, it was already gone. I turned my attention to the real Rainbow Dash. She was breathing, but she didn't look so good. I tore off our wing constricting clothes and hauled her onto my back. I made sure she was secure and dove out of the window and took flight toward Twilight's library.

_______________________

I charged through the door. "Twilight!"

A groggy and tired Twilight descended the stairs. "What?"

"Something's happened to Rainbow Dash. Changelings invaded her home."

"Changelings?!" Twilight instantly awakened as if she had a shot of caffeine. She used her magic to bring forth a table, medical equipment and Dash. She laid her down on the table and started checking her over. After a physical check, she used her magic to scan for anything. Her face fell and the magic stopped.

"She's been poisoned."

"Poisoned?" I repeated in disbelief.

"I'm afraid so. Changelings use a special poison to their victims fall in love with them. With no changeling to fall in love with, the poison eats away at the vital organs. Forcing them to love the Changelings. Once there is little love, they use a spell conjured from the depths of the darkest magic to make them fall in love completely."

"Please tell me there is a cure."

"Good news and bad on that front. There is a cure, but the magic required to cast the spell is stronger than the power of the Elements. This is where the saying 'love conquers all' came from. The magic of true love is barely enough to cure the poison."

"But how? How do I do that?"

"Celestia can help with that. She can wake her up long enough for true love to flourish."

I grabbed Rainbow Dash, flung her on my back and charged out the door and took flight. Toward Canterlot.

As soon as I reached the gates, I collapsed to the floor out of exhaustion. Almost immediately, half a dozen guards came to help me. Or so I thought. What they actually did was more like seize me. However they recognized Rainbow Dash - Element of Loyalty.

"Let me go! I need to get Rainbow Dash to Princess Celestia!"

"What is the meaning of this?" All the guards snapped to attention at the royal voice coming from above.

"Princess Luna!" I called. "Princess, you have to help me. Rainbow Dash could die at any minute, I need to get her to Princess Celestia."

"Release him." She ordered. The guards released me and I instantly ran toward Rainbow. I hauled her onto my back for the third time today and walked toward the Princess.

"She's been poisoned by Changelings."

"Come. We must get her to my sister immediately." Luna took flight and I followed

We flew a short while to one of the largest towers in the castle. Princess Luna landed first and I landed after. At the moment of spotting Celestia, I ran toward her and called her.

She whipped her head around and saw the unconscious Rainbow Dash on my back. "What happened to Rainbow Dash?"

"She's been poisoned by Changelings. I need you to wake her up."

"I can do it, but it will take some time. Leave her here. I will call for you when she is ready."

I put Rainbow Dash down on the floor and left so Celestia could concentrate. Before I took flight, I turned around to see Celestia knelt down beside Rainbow with her horn glowing yellow. I turned back and took flight toward Ponyville.

By the time I got back to Ponyville, I was just about ready to die. My wings were aching and the effort of the flight took it's toll as I began to feel fatigued. But the adrenaline surging through my veins prevented me from sleep. It was almost noon so I decided I would go to the picnic. I glided off the front porch and walked the rest of the way.

By the time I had got to the picnic, everypony was already there. Twilight was reading a letter and Rarity seemed just about ready to faint.

"Hey guys. What's up?"

"Well," Twilight began. "There's a wedding in Canterlot between some ponies I don't even know, and we've all been asked to contribute."

"Oh right. Probably should have given you this one first." Spike said apologetically. He grabbed a letter out of his scale pockets and handed it to Twilight.

Twilight cleared her throat. "Princess Celestia invites you to a wedding in Canterlot between Princess Mi Amore Cadenze and." She gasped. "My brother?!"

"You're brother is getting married to a princess? Congratulations!" I said. I clapped my front hooves together and Twilight shot a look at me that was equivalent to getting stabbed in the soul. I stopped clapping and as did everypony else.

"No. Not congratulations! How could he do this!"

"Do what?" I asked.

"Invite me with a LETTER! The least he could do is tell me in person! Thanks a lot Shining Armour!"

"Oh yeah right. How selfish of him." I said. Trying not to sound confused.

Suddenly, a green flash of light appeared in front of me. I'm easily scared so naturally, I jumped up and grabbed on to a branch above me.

The green light materialized into a letter. I dropped down and flapped my wings near the bottom to prevent a hard landing. I opened the letter on the floor and read it aloud by accident.

"Go along with your friends to Canterlot and report to me immediately. Rainbow Dash is almost ready."

Obviously, Twilight was the only one who knew what I was talking about. The rest just stared at me. Their eyes asking for more information.

"Umm..... Right.... Rainbow Dash got poisoned by a changeling and she could die at any minute and Princess Celestia is keeping her alive and awake long enough so that I can save her." I said as fast as I could. Unfortunately, not fast enough. They all heard every syllable perfectly. They all started chattering in unison. Saying so many different things that I couldn't understand any of it.

"QUIET!" Twilight yelled. Everyone turned their heads to her. "Right now the best way we can help her, is to get to Canterlot and just get the wedding over with while he does his thing to save Rainbow."

"I agree." I said. "Let's go to the train station."

I landed on the balcony of the same tower I left before. I walked in and saw no one. I progressed slowly and looked around.

"You're here!" I spun around just in time to see a rainbow blur crash into me and bring me into a hug.

"Rainbow Dash! You're alright!"

"Yeah, Yeah. Boo hoo. Teary reunion and all that."

I whipped my head to the left and saw something that looked similar to a Changeling but much bigger. Instinctively, I stepped in front of Rainbow and took up a defensive stance.

"Wow. I am offended. It is me who brought back you're little marefriend."

I lifted my head a little and dropped my angry expression and it turned to a surprised one.

"Is that true?" I asked Rainbow.

"I'm afraid so. She brought me back as leverage."

I turned my attention back to the giant Changeling at the other side of the room. "What do you want you monster!"

"I want you. You need to go to the wedding between me and Shining Armour and do something."

"You? I though Mi A-whatsit Cadenze was marrying Shining Armour."

"She is." As she said this, a green pillar of flame arose around her. When it subsided, a completely different creature was standing in-front of me. It was Princess Mi Amore Cadenze

"What do you want me to do?"

"Attack Princess Celestia!"

"Never! I would never do such a thing."

"Well then. Maybe you need a little... Encouragement." Her horn glowed green and I heard a grunt from behind me. I spun my head around and saw Rainbow Dash on the floor with her hooves clutching her chest.

"Rainbow!" I knelt down beside her. I knew she was being eaten from the inside because of the normal poison. But now she wasn't unconscious. I picked up her head in my hooves. Her eyes were flooded with tears of pain. I watched as her life ebbed away in my hooves.

"I'll do it. Just let her live."

As I said these words, her eyes opened and she inhaled a lung full of air. I instantly brought her into a hug. One of which she hastily returned. We sat there with our arms around our necks for a while. The Changeling had already left but we still sat there.

"Enjoying yourselves?"

I turned my head and looked into the eyes of the Princess of the Night.

"Princess Luna. I need your help again. Princess Mi Amore Cadenze is a Changeling. She threatened to kill Rainbow Dash if I didn't attack Celestia at the wedding."

"Is this so? Well, we'll have to deal with this conundrum then. Play along until the wedding. I shall inform Celestia and we will form a plan."

"Thank you." I say in barely more than a whisper. I return my attention to the mare in my arms. She is awake, but not strong enough to talk or do anything. I pick her up and glide down to the castle floor. I navigate the labyrinth of hallways and doors until I ask a guard for directions. Now that I know where to go, I get to Rainbow Dash's room and lay her on her bed. I pulled the covers over her and sat with her. I stroked her mane with my hoof.

"I love you." She said.

"I love you too. Get some sleep. We have a big day tomorrow."

A/N A lot of Spike lovers are going to hate me for this.

When I met Shining Armour for the first time, I remembered my agreement with Luna to keep quiet about it until she could think of a plan. He had told me that he was missing a ring bearer. So I jumped at the opportunity. And by 'jumped', I mean dropped subtle hints until he figured it out himself.

And then here I am. Bearing the rings. About to throw them at Celestia. Then run for it. I had to if it meant the love of my life living. Rainbow knew what was going to happen. She stood on the bride's side. Looking at me with sorrowful eyes. She knew I would be hunted to the edges of the earth.

I know. Don't be afraid.

That gave me a start. I looked around a little at the sudden intrusion of my thoughts. It sounded like Celestia. I looked over to her and she gave a slight nod to confirm my suspicions. I felt a lot more relaxed. Then she nodded sideways toward Cadence.

"Can the ring bearer step forward." Celestia announced.

I began to step forward. Slowly. I braced my hands around the cushion ready to catapult the contents. When suddenly.

"STOP!"

All heads turned to the door. There was the one and only, Twilight Sparkle.

"Ugh. Why does she have to be so possessive over her brother?"

Everyone looked at Cadence with confusion.

"I mean... Why does she have to ruin my big day?" She said with a fake sob.

"Because. It's not your day. It's mine!"

Didn't see that coming. The real Princess Cadence stepped in with a frayed mane and matted coat.

"What?! But how did you escape my bridesmaids?"

"I threw a bouquet."

"No matter. You are still to late!"

Her horn glowed a bright green and a pillar of green fire engulfed her. Same as the one in the tower. When it subsided, a giant Changeling took place of the fake Cadence. I still stood half way up the stairs looking like an idiot. I look like an idiot a whole lot don't I? This is probably the worst time. Because when I look stupid, I get noticed. And the last thing I wanted was to be noticed. But I was to afraid to move.

"And now that everypony knows who I am, there's no need to let a certain pony live."

Just what I was worried about. I heard a scream from Rainbow Dash's direction. But instead of running to her side, I ran to attack. I sprinted up the stairs and jumped for Queen Chrysalis. She attempted to fly away but I collided into her mid-section and took her to the ground. She landed on her back. Before I could get a punch in, she threw me off. I landed on my hooves and skidded across the floor like someone would in an action film. I once again charged for her. I instantly regretted this action as her mutated horn glowed. She pointed it toward me and the last thing I saw was green ray being shot toward me. It collided with me so hard that it sent me soaring through the air and into the wall behind me. I was stuck there until it dissipated. I fell to the floor and landed on my belly. I was in absolute agony. But I refused to give up. I slowly stumbled to my hooves and regained a battle stance. I walked toward her. Every step caused a jolt of pain. I heard the shattering of windows behind me. But I didn't turn to investigate. Instead, I saw Luna as she flew in front of me and she collided with Chrysalis. She pinned her to the ground and cast magical restraints on her. Everyone knew they would only hold her for a short while.

"Long time no see Nightmare." Everyone in the room gasped at her words.

"I am no longer a nightmare Chrysalis. You know that. And I told you to stay away from Equestria."

"Oh but there is so much love here. I have babies to feed you know."

"Not anymore."

"What have you done to them!"

"I put them somewhere they could never hurt anypony ever again."

Chrysalis hissed and broke her restraints as if they were twigs. She bucked Luna away from her and stood up. All this time, she had failed to notice Cadence and Shining Armour. Their horns were almost touching and a spark flew between them. Both of them started to glow. They floated into the air and started to radiate various colours. Each of them seemed to form a heart.

"No. No!"

The rainbow coloured heart exploded. It sent Chrysalis soaring through the roof and toward places unknown to ponykind.

I broke into the pony equivalent of a jog. I cut a straight path to Rainbow Dash. She was laying on the floor crowded by her friends. They stood aside to let me through to her. She was unconscious and the colour seemed to have faded from her mane a little. But she was breathing. I wasn't sure if she was still poisoned but I knew that without medical attention, she would die. I called for Princess Celestia and she came hastily.

"Can you do anything?"

"I'm afraid the most I can do is scan for the poison." Her horn lit up and so did Rainbow Dash's body. Then she gasped.

"She's a Changeling!" As she said this, the supposedly unconscious Rainbow Dash jumped up only to be met with a ray of magic as powerful as the sun. We all watched the smoking corpse lose it's disguise and turn into a Changeling.

"But... I don't..." I mumbled.

"Changelings come in four grades. Grade one can become a rough copy of the victim. Grade two can create a much better one but they feel very different. Grade three can make a perfect replica and feel the same but they are unable to harvest any memories or personalities. Grade four can become that pony. Same personality, memories, feel and look. She was a grade four."

"Where's the real Rainbow Dash?"

I don't know. But I can find her." Her horn lit up brightly and then dimmed. "I can perform a spell that will give me the ability to track the elements. All we have to do is follow my horn."

Our search led us back to the tower where it all began. When we reached the top, all we saw was an empty room.

"Spread out. Search every square inch." Princess Celestia instructed. Everyone walked off in a different direction. I walked toward the bookshelves. As I walked across the red carpet that stretched from one end of the room to the other, I stepped on a single floor board that caved in a tiny amount.

"Princess, is this tower solid or hollow?"

"It was originally designed to be a solid structure, but a lack of resources forced us to make it hollow."

I leaned down and grabbed the middle of the carpet with my teeth. I pulled it away and dropped it. I walked back over to the loose floor board. I put my ear against the ground and tapped the floor. It sounded hollow, but not hollow enough for it to be a whole tower. About three or four meters at most. I raised back to my hooves and looked at the ground. I raised to my back legs and leaned forward. I brought my front hooves to the ground as hard as I could. A small hole in the floor collapsed and revealed a secret room. It was dark, but that was quickly solved by Celestia brightened horn. In the middle, I saw what we had been looking for. Rainbow Dash was lying on a stone bed. Hog tied, gagged and blindfolded. I jumped down to the bottom and landed with a thud. I'm guessing Rainbow was asleep because when that thud happened, her breathing accelerated and she thrashed her head. She started to scream as best she could under the gag.

"Rainbow! It's me!"

She stopped screaming and thrashing. She was still breathing quickly though. I turned her head so I could untie the tear soaked blindfold and the gag. The second it was done, she turned her head.

"You came for me." She said with teary eyes.

"Of course I did. I would never let the mare I love suffer."

"You love me." She smiled and went to hug me. Then she remembered her hooves were still tied. She rolled over on her side and shook her hooves a little. I untied them. She jumped off of the stone bed and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"I love you too." She said. She buried her muzzle into my shoulder.

"Come on. We have a real wedding to go to." I looked up and gave Cadence and Shining armor a small wink. They both smiled and then looked at each other.

"Indeed we do." Shining armor said.

"I now pronounce you, Mare and Colt." Celestia put the rings on there horns. They both kissed and then went outside for the party.

Everyone was dancing to slow music. Including me an Rainbow. Our necks were intertwined and rested on each others shoulders.

"Let's get this party started!" Pinkie said from behind the DJ table. She pulled DJ-P0N3 out from under and started playing some more upbeat music. She tossed a mic to Twilight who started to sing Love Is In Bloom.

"Come on. I want to show you something." I whispered to Dash. We quietly sneaked away from the party to a secluded part of the gardens.

"What did you want to show me?"

I unfurled my wing and dropped a small black box into my hooves. I knelt down. By this time Rainbow already knew what came next. I opened the box and presented two rings. they both had a sapphire in the middle. The same gem that she wore on our first date. The rest was made of white gold. To signify the clouds she loved playing in.

"Rainbow Dash. Will you be my wife?"

Rainbow practically squeaked with excitement.

"Yes!" She ran toward me and embraced me in the tightest hug I had ever received. I took the two rings and slipped them over her wings and kept going until the base. I had to do a little research to find out were the ring went on a pegasus. She gave her wings a little test flap to make sure they would stay on. Satisfied, she folder her wings and gave me a kiss.

When we got back to the party, it was just wrapping up. The bride and groom had just stepped into their carriage and threw the bouquet. Of which Rarity went out of her way to catch.

We walked through together to meet up with the rest of the gang.

"Hey guys! Guess what!" Before anypony could respond, Rainbow flared out her wings to reveal the two rings around the base of her wings.

Everyone gasped and said there congratulations while I stood there with my arm around her.

When our carriage arrived, we all jumped in and headed home.

What happened after? That's a story for another time.

^^^ That's a hint that I might make a sequel.
