Twilight and Spike get to take a little trip to the Crystal Empire.
Cadence and Shining have invited Twilight and Spike to come stay with them at the Crystal Empire. One is to see the cute ponified and foalified Spike, another is to help Twilight relax her mind from the recent events that have taken place. Then something happens Twilight didn't expect. Sequel/Sidequel to Always Calm is Flutters Mom and A Miscalculation Gone Cute and prequel/sidequel to Pinkie Pie Cake. Rated Teen to be safe.

Twilight was packing up her things after receiving a letter from her BBBFF and Cadence. She had sent word to them about the incident with Rainbow and Lightning and the one with Fluttershy. Both were cases that were causing her a headache so Cadence told her it might be a good idea to take a break from her studies and the worry she was presenting. In all honesty, Twilight felt worn out after trying to find whatever she might have missed on trying to get them back to normal, so a vacation to see her royal relatives sounded nice and seemed to be a great opportunity to catch up on old times. Plus she could show them how cute Spike was now, being now he was a unicorn foal after his incident with a potion or two. At this point he was asleep in a carrier she had bought for him, but now the funny thing was he was calling her sister instead of mama like he did the day before.
After going over her check list for a fourth time to make sure she had packed everything and that she had already sent Owluicious to stay with Kind Heart, she made her way out the door with her luggage being towed by her magic. Thankfully Cadence had already payed for a train ticket to the Crystal Empire for her and sent it to her via magic. She locked the door to the library and left a note hanging on the door that she was to be gone for a while and that the library would be closed until further notice. She already let Mayor Mare know she was on her way out of town and said to have somepony manage the library in case she was gone longer then she had planned. Now all that was left was getting to the train station. Everypony she passed on the way there cooed at the site of Spike sleeping. "*snore* Check, check, check, check, check, check, check. *snore.*" Spike said as he talked in his sleep swining his little hoof.
Twilight giggled. At least some of his personality was still there, but she didn't know how much longer, for he believed he had always been pony and that she is his sister. Thankfully, she didn't need to send letters via fire anymore with the new teleportation spell she could use to transport them and not herself, but that was beside the point. The only pony she didn't see out and about at this time was Rarity. She knew Pinkie would be busy with the sweets shop today, and Applejack with the apple farm, but Rarity was usually on her way to the spa around this time. She guess she must have trotted over there early, so she thought nothing of it. Once she was at the train station, she was met by an unexpected site.
"Well howdy there Twilight, fancy bumpin into you here. Where ya headin with tiny Spike?" Applejack asked.
"Oh, my brother and Princess Cadence asked me to come visit so they could see baby Spike and have me relax my brain a little. I don't see why I need to, but all the same it will be nice to see them. How about you? I thought you would be back at the farm right now, what's going on?" Twilight asked.
"Well who'd a thunk it, Princess Luna asked me to meet her in the Crystal Empire as well, said that she found something inportant and asked me of all ponies to come take a look," Applejack said.
"That's odd, Princess Luna usually never asks anypony to help her with something," Twilight said.
"All aboard last call for the Crystal Empire," the conductor said.
"Oh, we better get on," Twilight said, pulling her's and Applejack's luggage toward the train.
"Tickets please your highness," the conductor requested.
Twilight hoofs him her tickets. "Thank you your majesty," the conductor said before bowing in respect.
She got on board and Applejack joined her soon after. Once they found a good spot to settle in, they began chatting after Spike wakes from his nap as the Luna's newly developed Friendship Express speed train took off. "Well, I don't know why Luna would be so eager to send for you. Maybe it's something important to you in particular. Anyways, getting on the subject of apples, I thought that the 'Apple Tree of Youth' was nothing more than a myth. Look's like Fluttershy proved me cutely wrong this time," Twilight said as she kept Spike between her forlegs and nuzzled him.
"Yeah, it's crazy how Spike, Dash, Dusty, and Fluttershy all turned into foals. What's next, Pinkie Pie endin up in Mrs. Cakes tummy as a foal?" Applejack asked.
The two mares have a laugh, leaving Spike to tilt his head barely understanding the conversation as it was with his foal mind taking over. "I think that's highly unlikely to happen, but then again, anything is possible when it comes to Pinkie Pie. I just hope if it happens, she won't remember anything, matter a fact, if that happened to any of us, I hope our foal minds would not let us remember any of it," Twilight said.
"I agree. Ya think the Crystal Empire might have something, or at least some information to help our foalified friends out?" Applejack asked.
"I don't know, they have a larger library then the one in Ponyville so, it's possible, but I think I'll hold off on that thought for a while. My brother wouldn't let me near that place until I was done with vacation time anyways. How about you, how long are you staying?" Twilight asked.
"I'm just gonna go there, do what's needed of me for however long is and then head back. I got so much to take care of back at Sweet Apple Acres with the 'Feast of Friends' comin up this summer," Applejack replied.
"I see. You and Big Mac really got your work cut out for you. I'll help you however I can when I am done in the empire. Hey just to ask, did you recommend Granny to eat one of the apples off that Apple Tree of Youth at all?" Twilight asked.
"No actually, though I think she'll be a might stubborn. Besides, I don't know if I can handle Granny bein younger then me after what happened ta Flutters," Applejack said.
"You do realize Kind Heart was affected too and she's not a foal," Twilight said.
"Get out. Ol Brave Heart was affected too?" Applejack asked in disbelief.
Twilight nodded. "I thought it was just a family trait of keeping a young look," Applejack said.
"Well, they do have that trait, but my age scan spell shows she is only twenty three now, and it never misses an age," Twilight said.
"Well, I could try and convince Granny to eat one and take a few years off her body to be younger again. It'll keep her from payin ol pony death a visit," Applejack said.
"Crystal Empire Station three miles," called the conductor.
"Well, just let her know, when you get back," Twilight said.
"Yeah, lets do what we need ta and worry later," Applejack said.
Twilight nodded and soon the two mares got off the train with Spike in his foal carrier and the luggage being dragged by the guards. "A carriage is awaiting the two, er three of you to take you to the palace your highness. Princess Cadence's orders," Said a crystal guard.
"Thank you very much," Twilight said.
"Guess being royal or a friend of a royal has it's perks," Applejack said.
"Indeed," Twilight said.
As they exited the station, the light reflecting off the palace was too much for Spike's new baby pony eyes and Twilight covered him with her wing to provide shade. Soon, all the luggage was on the carriage and the crystal guards pull it towards the city to the palace. Upon arrival, Twilight and Applejack were escorted in while the other guards took care of their belongings. As they entered the throne room, they were greeted by Cadence sitting at her throne.
"Cadence!" Twilight burst.
Cadence gasped happily, "There's the mare I've been waiting for."
She soon came galloped over to them as Twilight set little Spike down. "Sunshine, sunshine, ladybugs awake. Clap your hooves and do a little shake," Twilight and Cadence chanted before hugging each other and Spike clapped his little hooves at the entertainment.
"Oh, and hello to you Applejack. I hope Granny Smith is in her better mood back home," Cadence said.
"Hmhm, she has her good and bad days, today she was in a good mood before I took off. Thanks for the concern your highness," Applejack said.
"Well, Luna should be here in a bit. She was pulled away by some fillies who wanted to get to know her. Cute little ones, they were," Cadence said.
"Well, we'll see her in ten years," Applejack joked, getting a laugh from the Princesses in the room.
After a while of chatting, Luna showed up to talk to Applejack about what she found and led her away to go see it. "Anything I should worry about?" Twilight asked.
"No, it's just something that will interest Applejack a lot, I don't think she'll wanna pass it up," Cadence said.
"Is that so?" Twilight asked rhetorically.
"Well, I see our cute little Spike got his hooves, hello there little Spikey," Cadence said as she lifted him out and started tickling him as she held him.
"Hehehehehehehe, Mama," Spike said.
Twilight and Cadence were frozen on the spot by his comment. "Are my ears going, or did he just call you Mama?" Twilight asked.
"I think he just called me Mama," Cadence said.
"Well, I understand Spike calling me his sister, but you his Mama, that's a new one," Twilight said.
"Well, let's just be sure. Spikey, who is that," Cadence pointed to Twilight.
"Sissthy," Spike said.
"And who am I?" Cadence asked as she pointed to herself.
"Mama," Spike said as he hugged her muzzle.
Cadence smiled at his cuteness then heard a door open. Spike turned around to see who it was. They see Shining had walked into the room and then said, "Hey it's little sis and little ponified Spike."
"Dada!" Spike yelled joyfully waving his little baby hooves.
"D-did he just call me Dada?" Shining asked out of shock.
"He did. But I think I know why. After he regressed further, much of his mind start to regress to. some of his memories remain but for how long I don't know. since your the First Stallion that greeted him warmly, he must have classified you as his dad. Now the case of calling me sissy and Cadence his Mama, it must be due to size, I'm guessing after the picture I showed him of you guys, he narrowed it down to that," Twilight said.
"Well, I guess we can play along since his mind is so young I don't wanna confuse the little guy," Shining said as he ruffled Spikes mane.
Spike giggled trying to grab Shining's hoof. "Awww, he wants to play," Cadence said.
Just then a loud rumble came from his belly. "Oh, he's hungry, let me get his..." Twilight was cut off as Cadence took the bag and zipped it shut.
"You haven't been feeding him formula have you Twily?" Cadence asked in a worried tone.
"That yucky unhealthy stuff? No, I was getting his pacifier to keep him occupied till I was ready. I need to take a pill to start nursing him," Twilight said.
"Oh, let me take care of the feeding Twi. He did call me Mama after all right?" Cadence pointed out.
"Well I... are you sure?" Twilight asked.
"Of course I am. Besides I have been thinking about being a mother. This a great way to start letting me experience it," Cadence said.
"Well, okay, but maybe somewhere more private then the throne room," Twilight suggested.
"Not a problem," Cadence said.
Before they even knew what happened, they were in Cadence's and Shining's bedroom."Ok Spike, sweetie time for Mama to give you some nice warm milk," Cadence said. She used her magic and guided him to her breasts after using magic to help her produce milk. She placed a wing over him and soon he started nursing. As he did the three talked about all that had happened since they're last get together.
"So anyways, that's how Fluttershy and her mom look how they are now. Kind Heart is certain there is no way to reverse the effects, but I want to hope she's wrong," Twilight said.
"Well, I know you want your friend back Twilight, but have you ever thought that maybe this might be good for both of them?" Cadence asked as Spike was still nursing.
"What are you suggesting Cadence?" Twilight asked curiously.
"Well, just think about it. Kind Heart has been traveling all over the land. She barely got any time to spend with her daughter, even while she was growing up. Sometimes it can be hard for both a mother and her child to be apart for so long at a time. Now that Kind Heart is done going across the land and is settling down, with more then enough money to hold her and Fluttershy over 100 years or more, this would be a great chance for them to live the life they never got, and they get to start from Fluttershy's foalhood," Cadnce pointed out.
"Same could be said for Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust. They were very young and lost their folks. At the age they were before regressing, that can be a devastating blow. Now granted they were able to hold themselves strong. But they never got the chance to show their parents all they had accomplished. To be taken in and brought back to the age of foalhood, it gives them a family once more, and this time, they get a big sister as well. All the same, I don't want to separate your friends age from your own," Cadence continued.
"I guess I never thought about it like that. But what if I can't change them back? What if while their foals, we come under attack? What if they never age again and stay foals forever? What if...." Twilight was cut short from her meltdown as Cadence put a hoof on her mouth.
"Remember the breathing technique," Cadence said.
Twilight nodded and used the breathing technique. "Hmhm, you were acting like a little filly again. Oh, how I miss those days," Cadence said as she began to burp baby Spike.
"Well I definitely don't miss the one time she took a sip of my latte and was all over the place," Shining Armor butted in.
"Hey, I thought it was hot chocolate, and you shouldn't have left it where I was able to reach it," Twilight said.
"She does have a point honey," Cadence.
"Oh, come on. Is it gang up on the Captain of the Royal Guard day again?" Shining asked.
"Yes," the mares say in unison.
"Flash, care to join us?" Twilight suggested to her one time crush who was standing on one side of the doors to the bedroom.
"Flash Sentry, you stay right where you are, or I will demote you in rank," Shining Armor commanded with a bit of attitude.
Flash gulped. He didn't want to disobey either side, for he was Shining's second in command. "Come on Flash, you can't disobey a Princess of Equestria, even if the Captain tells you to. Come join us," Cadence said.
"Hey, I have prince status since we are married, and he has to obey his Prince," Shining fought back.
"Not when two princesses outweigh a prince in a decision," Twilight said.
"Actually your highnesses, I politely decline. I need to make sure crazy ponies, like those fog crystal ponies, don't break in to the room," Flash said.
Shining motioned his lips to say thank you. "Oh, fog crystal ponies are nothing but an old crystal pony's tale, but all the same you're right to stand guard, but I think it we are good for now with guards standing watch outside the castle, you two may take your leave. Look's like your off the hook with him this time my Shining Armor," Cadence said, as Flash Sentry and his fellow guard trotted off to turn in for the night and Cadence shuts the door.
"So, where were we?" Twilight asked right before she heard Spike burp.
"About to put this little one to bed," Cadence said as she showed him rubbing his tired eyes.
"Aw, he's so sweepy he can't even keep his wittle eyes open," Twilight cooed.
Spike buried his face in his hooves trying to block out the noise. Cadence used her magic to make a cute and comfy crib appear and after getting him in a new diaper, she gently placed Spike in the crib. Cadence kissed his forehead and said, "Sweet dreams my little Spike."
Spike made a cute little whimper and began sucking on his hoof. After putting up a sound barrier on his ears, Cadence suggests, "Well I don't want to leave him alone, so why don't we call in one of the castle servants to bring us some food and drinks for a nice little family dinner?"
"Sounds good to me," Twilight said.
"Me too, I'm starving," Shining said.
Twilight and Cadence laughed before calling in one of the servants to have their favorite dishes brought up. It did not take long to have the food delivered to their room and they all dug in. "So, have you met any nice stallions back in Ponyville or is Flash Sentry still at the top of the list as your boyfriend?" Shining teased.
"Shining, that's a bit of a private opinion. Besides, what if Flash is listening in and I say something that offends him?" Twilight asked.
"Seesh sis, I was only teasing," Shining admitted.
"Still, that's her private opinion," Cadence said.
"I, I just wanna make sure when my little sis decides to find some stallion to settle down with, it would be a stallion I can trust. So far the only two I trust are Flash and Big Macintosh," Shining Armor said.
"Hey, it's not like I'm gonna date that snob Prince Blueblood. *She shuddered.* That stallion gives me the creeps and frankly, he doesn't deserve me," Twilight said.
"Well there's something we agree on," Shining said.
"Well, I should be defending my cousin, but all the same, I agree with you two," Cadence added.
They all share a chuckle and soon finish their meal. "Well, it was a great talk tonight, so I guess your tired aren't you Twily?" Cadence asked.
Twilight nodded. "Well, I'll have one of our castle staff escort you to your resting quarters," Cadence said.
"Um actually, Cadence. I know this may sound a bit odd, but, could I sleep with you two tonight? You know, for old times sake, have a bit of a family cuddle?" Twilight asked, expecting the worst.
Cadence was a bit surprised but wasn't objective to the idea. She looked to Shining Armor to see what he thought. "Well, we may be a bit old to be doing this kind of thing, but I don't see why not," Shining said.
"I'm fine with it Twily, it would be nice to cuddle with the filly I loved to sit for the most and with my husband," Cadence said.
"Well, let me just grab my night gown and we'll have a family cuddle," Twilight said.
She soon took off to her living quarters and sees Cadence whisper something in Shining's ear. She brushed it off as some couples chit chat as she made her way into her room. She put on her night gown and upon looking in the mirror, it reminded her of looking like her old filly self, making her sigh, thinking about wanting to be young like her friends Rainbow and Fluttershy. She the made her way back to Shning and Cadence's room and they were waiting on the bed for her. "Okay, all ready for bed Twily? Cadence asked smiling.
"Mmhm," she replied.
She soon climbed onto the the bed and cuddled in close to Cadence and Shining kissed her before he said, "Good night little sis."
"Good night BBBFF. Good night Cadence," Twilight said.
"Good night little Twily," Cadence said.
Twilight was a little confused by her sister-in-law/foalsitter's statement, but she thought it was for old time sake. Soon she was deep in dream land as Cadence had wrapped her forelegs around her. She felt as if something washed over her, but she could care less as she slept....
Once Cadence knew Twilight was asleep, she cast a sleeping spell to make her stay asleep. "Are you ready to do this Shining?" Cadence asked.
"Are you sure we should Cadence? I mean, what if your sisters don't approve of this?" Shining asked in a worried tone.
"Actually, I had asked them a few days prior if it was okay, and they were fine with it. I didn't expect her friends to become foals. That was sort of a bonus that came out of the blue. Besides this is only for a few days sweetie. It's not like I am leaving her that way permanently. I'll bet your folks want to see their little Twily again," Cadence said.
"Hard to argue with that one, and if your sisters say it's fine, I'm okay with it too," Shining said.
"Okay, here we go," Cadence said.
She focused her magic on the spell and soon a beam of light shot onto Twilight. Her body soon started to become younger and smaller. "It's working," Cadence said.
She kept focusing on the spell when all of the sudden a bright flash engulfed the room. When they were able to see again. Twilight was nowhere to be seen. "Oh no, where is she?" Shining asked in worry.
"I-I don't know," Cadence replied, no less worried then him.
Neither of them had noticed her tummy had increased in size. "I'll do a scan for her magical presence," Shining Armor said.
When he use his horn to scan for his sister's magic, it came to rest upon Cadence's tummy. "C-Cadence, I-I think," Shining stuttered unable to finish his sentence as he looked at his wife's rounded midsection.
Cadence looked at her tummy and understood what he meant and soon pulled the book that she found the spell in off the shelf she kept it on and opened it to the page she found it on. She mumbled to herself for a bit before raising her voice saying, "What! Warning if spell is cast by a mare to use it for regression and it is not focused on a certain age, the pony the spell is cast on will be regressed to before they were born and the mare shall become the pregnant mother of said pony, in which case the spell will be irreversible once cast. Oh, horsefeathers, you would think the creator of this spell would have put that in fine, bolded print, but no, they had to leave that part in even smaller letters."
"Now why do I have a feeling Discord had a hoof, er, claw, I mean, talon, whatever, in doing that?" Shining asked rhetorically.
"Shining, this is serious, I've become pregnant with Twilight. What are we gonna do?" Cadence panicked.
"Cadence, take a breather for a moment," Shining said, trying to keep his head level.
Cadence used her breathing technique and calmed down. "Now, in all honesty, there is nothing we can do. I know this isn't what we wanted to happen, but it has happened. Now, we're going to have to send word to your aunts and my parents to tell them Twilight has become our daughter," Shining said.
"But, are you sure your parents won't freak out?" Cadence asked.
"Where do you think I got my level headedness from honey. Certainly not my Aunt Amethyst or Uncle Smoky Quarts. Even if one of my parents break down, I know the other will see reason and calm them down after reading our explanation for this. Also, I think they may approve of it rather then shun it," Shining said.
"Why do you say that honey, oh," Cadence said as she started to feel Twilight kick her from inside.
"Honestly, my parents have always been crazy about not wanting me and my sister, well in this case daughter now, they never wanted us far from each other for long periods of time. This spoke true especially when I started my training as part of the Royal Guard and again when she started school. Thankfully, Princess Celestia was able to set it up to where I was near the castle at all times so my sister didn't get too lonely. That's also how we kind of started dating because I was so close," Shining said giving her a kiss and rubbing her tummy to keep her calm and feel Twilight kick.
"Wow, I never knew that," cadence said.
"Yeah, and when my sister was sent to Ponyville and then was given a permanent stay there, my father nearly gave himself a stroke and my mother was in a state of rage for a bit, but they cooled off. If I tell them she is our daughter now, I think this will give them a feeling of joy for three main reasons. One, Twilight will be close to us at all times. Two they get to see twilight's cuteness again, you remember when you saw her at that age," Shining said.
Cadence blushed, for that was one of the reasons she wanted to regress Twilight temporarily in the first place. "Thirdly, they finally get to claim they are grandparents and their still looking young for their age group," Shining finished.
"Are you implying they are old," Cadence scolded him.
"Well, older then me at least," Shining said, saving his flank.
"Touche', but I think we could change that a bit," Cadence said.
"You're not gonna use that spell on them are you?" Shining worried.
"No, no, I would just suggest the Apple Tree of Youth Twilight mentioned to them," Cadence said finally calmed and sort of excited to be pregnant with Twilight.
"Oh, phew. Speaking of Twily, how is she doing in there?" Shining asked.
"She's a kicker, good thing that spell regresses the mind too. I can't imagine what would happen if she had her adult mind in tact while she was in my tummy. Looks like Rainbow, Lightning and Fluttershy have a new playdate on the way," Cadence said.
"Not sure Applejack will be too pleased to hear about this," Shining Armor said.
It had been only a few of days since Cadence found out the fate of Applejack and Luna had been in total shock to learn her niece had sent Twilight into her tummy. Thankfully Luna had been level headed about it. She knew Celestia would have her own opinion, but that would be for later. Shining Armor was able to create a cover story for both the pregnancy and Twilight and he asked the Castle staff and guards to even keep the cover story of the pregnancy under rap, not even knowing of the truth about what happened. Flash had gotten a little suspicious though. The one thing that was leading his suspicion was the absence of Princess Twilight Sparkle. Shining did his best to try and keep him from catching on, but didn't know how much longer he could keep Flash away from the truth. That is, until something occurred that gave Shining something to laugh about.
Cadence was Just waking up from a nap and smiled as she watched Spike suck on his hoof as he snuggled up under her wing in his sleep. Spike had been a mischievous little foal over the time he had been with them. She could never forget what happened two days before as she was leaving court for the day.
Flashback to end of court
"Thank you for your time Miss Tanzanite. I shall be sure to have some of our best carpenters be sent to repair the damage done to the Museum of Crystal Myths after that storm that blew threw here," Cadence said.
"It is I who should thank you for being so thoughtful of all the subjects of our kingdom your majesty. And might I say that little Prince Spike looks absolutely adorable with that little crown on his head. Why, if my niece little was here, she'd probably be head over hooves at how cute he is your highness," Tanzanite said.
"I thank you for the compliment. And it's gonna be nap time for this little prince soon," Cadence said.
Spike crossed his legs and pouted in disapproval. "Hmhmhm, stubborn little prince isn't he your highness?" Tanzanite commented.
"Very stubborn," Cadence answered as she glared at her son.
"Well, I'll take my leave your highness. I am sure you don't need more stress put on you with another little royal on the way," Tazanite said.
"Thank you for your concern Tanzanite. I hope you have a good day," Cadence said.
"And you as well your highness," Tanzanite said.
Tanzanite soon made her way out of the throne room and Cadence breathed a sigh of relief. that relief was short lived as she heard an argument near by with raised voices. Soon the doors opened to reveal two certain stallions trotting aggressively in to the throne room. "Flash Centry, you cannot just walk into the throne room like you are in charge," Shining exclaimed trying to keep Flash at bay.
"Your highness, something peculiar is going on and it is my job to find out what it is, even if The Crystal Prince and Captain of the Royal Guard, and the Crystal Princess say it is nothing," Flash snapped at his Prince he served.
"Flash, you are at risk of losing your job," Shining said.
"And I am sure that all the other guards will want to serve under you when the find out you discharged me from service for risk of me exposing that you are hiding something from them your highness," Flash scolded his superior once more.
"Flash I am warning you," Shining said before Cadence interrupted.
"Stop Shining, let him speak his mind. He has a right to ask questions at the very least," Cadence said, trying to keep Spike from seeing the argument, or hearing it.
Shining did not argue with his wife and let Flash speak. "Your highness, I have no doubt that you are a fine ruler and will serve the Empire well. It has been alerting me though that Princess Twilight Sparkle has not been seen for a few days. I am not trying to cause a panic, but I have not seen anypony attending to Princess Twilight Sparkle for the illness that has befallen her and caused to remain in bed. I didn't want to disturb her chambers, but I did and came to see she was not in her guest room. I am not saying she is kidnapped or anything, but I am worried about her highness's well being your majesty," Flash stated hoping he would tell her it was something as simple as a scheduled train ride back to Ponyville that he didn't hear about.
Cadence saw Shining say in lip movements "don't tell him" but she sighed and without holding back said, "There is no need to worry about Princess Twilight Sparkle. She is safe inside my tummy, resting til she is ready to be born Flash."
Flash sighed and looked at Shining Armor and said, "There, you see your highness? Mystery solved, was it so difficult to... ! ... Wait! What?!"
Flash's expression went from relieved to one of total shock and disbelief as he just processed what Princess Cadence had told him. "Yep, now you know why I was trying to keep you from talking to my wife," Shining said as he as he made a facehoof.
Flash's left eye twitched as his mouth gaped open. "Well, somepony was gonna catch on sooner or later," Cadence said.
"You could have been a little more subtle about it honey," Shining said.
"I... but that... she can't... it... you..." Flash was unable to finish his stuttered sentence, still stationary as a statue from the initial shock.
"Maybe I should go fetch the other guards to help you to the medical room to see Nurse Ruby," Shining said.
Just as he was about to walk out to tell the guards, Cadence noticed Spike was about to sneeze. "Oh no, Shining, Shield yourself, he's gonna blow!"
Spike let out a cute little sneeze, but it was enough to send a burst of magic bouncing all over the throne room. Soon it hit something making a bright display of light. luckily, all three royal family members had their eye shielded when the magic hit a target. Soon they uncover their eyes and Cadence says, "Bless you my little Spike. Shining you okay?"
"I'm fine honey, that was a powerful burst, I would have hated if that was flames," Shining said.
Cadence looked over at Flash and upon looking at him she tried to hold back her laughter. Spike however showed no restraint.
"And what does our little Prince find so amusing?" Shining asked.
"*Snicker* Look at *snicker* Flash honey," Cadence giggled trying not to show her own amusement.
Shining nearly jumped in surprise at the sight before him, but then he was on the ground grabbing his sides as tears of laughter formed in his eyes. Flash, now recovered from his initial shock, requested, "Your majesties, may I ask what is it you find so amusing?
"Flash, look at your mane," Cadence said.
He soon when over to one of the mirrors near the entryway. Upon seeing himself, at first he was in shock and screamed in surprise, then he looked again and did something neither of the royal couple expected... he, himself broke out in laughter, all because his mane... was pink.
"I take it your not mad at little Prince Spike," Cadence pondered.
"Of course not your majesty. Oh, you should have seen what happened to my cousin when her unicorn friend caught a cold your highness," Flash said.
"I wager she looked more ridiculous then you do now," Shining said.
"Extremely, I even have a picture of it if you ever want to see it your majesties. She finds it hilarious herself, heck she got awarded for Equestria's goofiest look and it made headline news your highnesses," Flash said.
"Well, I am sure it is very amusing, but there is the matter of Princess Twilight Sparkle. Flash, can I trust that you keep this knowledge tight lipped?" Shining asked.
"Oh, yes Princess Twilight Sparkle. Now that I know the truth, I can safely say your secret is safe with me your majesty. I doubt anypony would believe me anyways even if I did tell them your highness," Flash said.
"Yeah, you do have a point," Shining said.
"Oh, um, Princess Cadence, My mane if you don't mind your highness," Flash requested.
"Of course," Cadence said as she cast a spell to give Flash his true mane color back.
End of flashback
A lot more had happened that day and with Flash now in the loop, there was a lot more that needed to be done Just as she woke up her little Spike, the doors swung open. Cadence saw Shining in the doorway and he seemed, well, one, out of breath, and two, petrified. "Cadence, a letter came in. You better read it," Shining said as he hoofed her the letter and read:
Dear Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor,
This is members of the Wonderbolts, Spitfire and Soarin, Mr. and Mrs. Cake, Kind Heart, Fancy Pants, Emerald, and the Apple Family sending you an urgent message. We have been informed of the recent event that has occurred with Princess Twilight Sparkle and have some new information you may not have known. As you well know, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust were all turned into foals. We regret to say that a few more of ponies she knows have also suffered the same cute consequence. We are on our way to get tickets to Canterlot and hope to see you there by tomorrow by request of Princess Celestia. The Princess of Day was already informed of what happened, and is awaiting every one of us in Canterlot as soon as we can spare time to arrive, which is tomorrow. We hope to see you soon your majesties. Sincerely,

Cadence and Shining wasted no time in preparing for the trip ahead the next day and were quick to get Tickets on the Crystal Express. Much was going to change when they would arrive in Canterlot.
Nothing Can Stay Secret From Everypony ·(Alternate Version)
It had been only a few of days since Cadence found out the fate of Applejack and Luna had been in total shock to learn her niece had sent Twilight into her tummy. Thankfully Luna had been level headed about it. She knew Celestia would have her own opinion, but that would be for later. Shining Armor was able to create a cover story for both the pregnancy and Twilight and he asked the Castle staff and guards to even keep the cover story of the pregnancy under rap, not even knowing of the truth about what happened.
Flash had gotten a little suspicious though. The one thing that was leading his suspicion was the absence of Princess Twilight Sparkle. Shining did his best to try and keep him from catching on, but didn't know how much longer he could keep Flash away from the truth. That is, until something occurred that gave Shining something to laugh about.
Cadence was just waking up from a nap and smiled as she she lifted one of her wings watched as Spike suck on his hoof as he snuggled up against her in his sleep. Spike had been a mischievous little foal over the time he had been with them. She could never forget what happened two days before as she was leaving court for the day.
Flashback to end of court "Thank you for your time Miss Tanzanite. I shall be sure to have some of our best carpenters be sent to repair the damage done to the Museum of Crystal Myths after that storm that blew threw here," Cadence said.
"It is I who should thank you for being so thoughtful of all the subjects of our kingdom your majesty. And might I say that little Prince Spike looks absolutely adorable with that little crown on his head. Why, if my niece little was here, she'd probably be head over hooves at how cute he is your highness," Tanzanite said.
"I thank you for the compliment. And it's gonna be nap time for this little prince soon," Cadence said.
Spike crossed his legs and pouted in disapproval. "Hmhmhm, stubborn little prince isn't he your highness?" Tanzanite commented.
"Very stubborn," Cadence answered as she glared at her son.
"Well, I'll take my leave your highness. I am sure you don't need more stress put on you with another little royal on the way," Tazanite said.
"Thank you for your concern Tanzanite. I hope you have a good day," Cadence said.
"And you as well your highness," Tanzanite said.
Tanzanite soon made her way out of the throne room and Cadence breathed a sigh of relief. There was nothing too strenuous going on, but she didn't let her guard down. She was starting to think that some of Twilight's every day fears had been transferred to her after her incident, for now she kept think about some of the most unlikely things to ever happen, such as the Changelings returning, or the Gryphon Kingdom disobeying the peace treaty they had set between the three lands of Equestira, their Kingdom and the Crystal Empire. Maybe it was maternal instincts that were making her worry about it, but she felt Twilight may have had a hoof in it, after unwillingly becoming Cadence's biological daughter currently under construction.
She was about to have her and Spike retire to their private chambers when she heard two very familiar voices. One sounded enraged, the other in a state of panic. "Flash Sentry! Please. I am asking you to stop this nonsense and get back to your duties," said the voice of her husband.
The doors soon burst open. "I can not do that sir. Princess Twilight Sparkle, your sister, is missing, and there is no pony out looking for her. I want an explanation for this," Flash Sentry snapped.
"Flash Sentry, do not make me pull rank on you," Shining Armor said.
"Shining Armor! Do not say such things. Corporal Flash Sentry has a right to voice his concerns. What is it that troubles you Corporal Flash?" Cadence asked.
"Your Highness. I apologize for my sudden intrusion into the throne room, but I can not stand by and do nothing. We were given word that Princess Twilight Sparkle came down with an illness and required bed rest for a very long while. When I went to greet her highness in her chambers to see if she required anything that I could help with, I came upon the scene of an empty bedroom, and blankets and sheets neatly made, as if no pony had even touched them for days. I'm not trying to worry too much your highness, I just wish to have confirmation that Princess Twilight is alright and hasn't been kidnapped or other such nature, just for reassurance so I can breath easy if I know she just took off into the crystal city today, or maybe headed back to Ponyville for something," Flash Sentry stated.
"Well, I appreciate the concern you have for Princess Twilight. In all honesty, you're like a second big brother to her. I can assure you that Princess Twilight is fine and is resting comfortably in my tummy until she ready to be born," Cadence said.
Shining Armor hoof-slapped his face. "Well, that is good to hear. Now Prince Shining was really so hard t.....!..... Wait! What!?" Flash Sentry yelled as he just processed what Princess Cadence said.
"Way to be subtle dear," Shining Armor said.
"Well he was gonna find out sooner or later," Cadence said.
"But Twilight isn't.... How in Equest... You... I... she..." Flash was at a loss for words as he studdered.
"Perhaps we should send a note to one of the castle nurses that they may need to roll in one of the hospital beds just in case," Shining said.
Flash's right eye twitched a few times as he stood there trying to comprehend what he had just been told. "Maybe I did bring it out a bit too quickly," Cadence said.
"Well, what's done is done. Now all we need is to make sure Flash keeps a tight lip about this," Shining said.
"Who would actually believe him if he told them the truth about Twilight? I'm not even sure he's fully on board with what happened to her. He might think it's a well thought out and random prank," Cadence said.
"True, but," Shining paused as he watched his little sister's/new daughter's crush began screaming then Shining continued, "I'll send word to the nurses to come help him."
"Oh, while your at it could you," She paused as she saw Spike preparing to sneeze and bellowed, "Shining! Watch out he's gonna blow!"
As soon as Spike sneezed, a burst of magic escaped his horn. Cadence put up protecteive shield to keep the blast from hitting her and Spike while Shining used his skills as Captain of the Royal Guard to avoid being hit as the magic bounced all over the throne room. Soon there was a flash and Cadence shielded her's and Spike's eyes with her wings, and Shining shielded his own eyes and felt a gust from the impact as the magic hit it's target. Once the room was back to normal, Cadence lowered her shield. "Are you and Spike okay honey?" Shining asked.
Cadence responded, "Yes, we're fine. Bless you my little Spike."
"Powerful little guy isn't he. Get's it from his new mommy," Shining said.
"Hmhm, indeed," Cadence said.
Cadence looked over at Flash and upon looking at him she gasped and covered her mouth. Spike gave a mischievous giggle and clapped as he saw what his sneeze had caused to happen. "And what does our little troublemaker find so amusing?" Shining asked as he straightened his mane out after it had been messed up by the gust made from the magic burst.
"Shining, if you look straight ahead, you'll find a cute little answer." Cadence replied.
Shining looked back to where she was talking about and was surprised by what he saw. There sitting on the ground before them was a foal version of Flash Sentry. When Flash looked at himself. Then back at the Royal family and did the only thing he could do... he cried. Cadence, out of maternal instinct jumped to her feet and began to gallop towards him but tripped somehow as the came near him and when she stopped her eyes were spinning. Flash, upon watching this, began laughing, and Spike who was still sitting at the throne could help but do the same. Cadence came back to her senses and Shining said, "It seems we may have a trouble making duo."
"Hmhm, indeed but I think these cute little rascals need a nap, and this little flier needs to get his some protection on his cute little toushie. After that we need to find a way inform the kingdom that we adopted a pegasus into our family without having them go into a panic," Cadence said as she began to tickle Flashes tiny little belly, causing him to laugh again trying to escape his new mom's tickle attack.

Cadence lifted her other wing and to reveal the tiny little blue maned pegasus with a fluffy diaper on his bottom cuddled up against her. Now Twilight had two big brothers and she and Shining had two little sons, one with his horn and the other with his wife's wings. Cadence knew it was going to be some story to tell the subjects how the foals came to be, but she'd have to make something up until she had a plan of some sort.
