Three mares, gifted with a mysterious power, will begin their adventure in Equestria
It was just a normal day for Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia. But when they are gathered because of an exciting find, they got a surprise that the find will grant them the powers of anypony ever realize.

It was normal day for Equestria. No trouble, no pain, and no chaos. It was just plain and simple but unimaginable peace and harmony, with prosperity on the land. But there was something before that, something unbelievable that it will grant anypony the power to balance life and death.
The Power of a Soul Reaper.
It was then three ponies were gifted with this power, and were protecting Equestria from harm, using the ponies called Zanpakuto, granting them even more power. It all started in that fateful day. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey Spike! Will you hurry up will you?!" A lavender alicorn shouted at her number one assistant.
"Will you just wait Twilight?! I'm still busy preparing myself and your ordering me in a hurry!" Spike shouted back.
"Whoops. Sorry, I didn't know it. It's just that being a princess that gave me too much stress." Twilight, the new alicorn princess of Equestria, said.
"Don't you mention it Twilight. I heard all ponies in Ponyville and Canterlot will go to see that spectacular find. Even Pinkie and a cellist known as Octavia will go there too!" Twilight knew those two well. Pinkie, or Pinkamena Diane Pie, was one of her best friend and the holder of the Element of Laughter, and Octavia to her was one of the best cellist in her opinion.
"Okay Spike. Well, are you done?"
"Well yes. Let's go!" Spike said, getting a smile from Twilight and the two are now going towards Canterlot, but not before stopping to Sugarcube Corner to fetch Pinkie Pie. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Are you sure Pinkie? Are you sure you could handle yourself alone towards Canterlot?" Ms. Cake asked the pink maned earth pony.
"I'm very very sure Ms. Cake! I'm pretty sure that I will be fine from there one." Pinkie Pie replied.
"If you say so Pinkie." When Mr. Cake finished his sentence, the door flew open, revealing the bodies of Twilight and Spike.
"Come on Pinkie. We can't be late for the show you know." Twilight said.
"Okay Twilight. Bye Mr. and Ms. Cake! See you later!" Pinkie said, waving her hoof at the couple.
"Bye Pinkie!" The couple replied, waving also their hooves at the party pooper. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh come on Octy! Can I join with you?!" A white with blue maned unicorn said.
"No Vinyl! For the last time!" A grey maned earth pony shouted.
"Oh come on! It's not even fair!"
"Don't worry Vinyl. Someday, you will." Octavia said with a grin in her face. Before Vinyl could protest, the door opened, getting the bodies of two ponies and one peculiar one.
"Hello Octavia. Care to join to us?" Twilight asked.
"Of course Twilight. Bye Vinyl." Octavia said, making Vinyl jealous for it. The three ponies and dragon moved towards Canterlot to spectate the unveiling of a new find.
-Canterlot, Minutes Later-
The ponies gathered in the Royal Gardens of Equestria's capital, Canterlot. The gardens were magnificently laid out years ago, and still awed some ponies today. The two Royal Princesses, Celestia and Luna, awaits in heavy breath because of the huge crowd of ponies present.
"Are you ready sister?" Luna asked.
"Not yet Lulu. I'm nervous because of this." Celestia replied.
"Don't you worry Tia. Everything will be just fine. Being nervous is not gonna help you."
"Your right. Thank you Lulu." Celestia said, readying herself for the big event in Equestrian history. Now in front of her beloved subjects, she addressed:
"Citizens of Equestria! I'm here to pronounce a very glorious event in Equestrian history! As of now, we have found mysterious stones carved with strange symbols, possibly from our ancestors, has been discovered right in this very garden. Now, in your delight, I will now show you....The Royal Canterlot Garden Stone Runes!"
She pointed her hoof at the curtain, and when it was lifted, it revealed the stone runes what Celestia was talking about. On it was, also corrected by Celestia, was strange symbols. The ponies thundered in whistles, cries and tears of joy began, and they knew it will have a special place in Equestrian history, not to mention also for Twilight Sparkle, who was with Princess Luna, Octavia and Pinkie Pie.
'Well it's not that bad.' Celestia though in happiness, but that happiness will be soon erased when she detects a large magic signal on the runes. When she turned her head, she couldn't believe it. (
A large swirl of magic began to form on top of the runs, creating distraught and confusion among the ponies present. Even the princesses were afraid that something will bad happen. Suddenly, three beams of magic energy shot out of circle, and moments later, it hit Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia all of the same time.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Celestia shouted as the beam disappeared, leaving the bodies of the three mares.
"Somepony! Anypony! Call the doctor!" Celestia shouted, and all of the ponies got panicked to who they will call. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the mist of darkness with white fog comes forth Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia. They are now dazed of what happened, and have no clue where they are now now.
"Hey Twilight? Where are we?" Pinkie asked, getting in the air of despair.
"Hello there. I suppose you want questions." An anonymous voice said, getting the mares to turn their heads to see who was that. After futile searching, they saw a skeleton pony, wielding a sword.
"Who are you?" Octavia asked.
"I have many names, but my name does not matter."
"Then why are we here?" Twilight asked.
"Do you remember when you are struck by that mysterious beam of magic?" After thinking about it, they do remember.
"But what is it about?" Pinkie asked.
"That my dear, is a magic beam that will grant you non-pony powers. However, it will be difficult to master without swords."
"But why swords?"
"You will know soon. Wake up my little ponies, wake up." And with that, the black mist and fog disappeared, and they snapped their eyes wide opened with ponies greeting them.
Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia opened there eyes, oblivious to the fact that they are now in a hospital. What took them off-guard was the huge ponies gathered around to greet them, after their collapse when the beam of energy struck them.
"Okay my little ponies, please give them space for them." A familiar voice commanded, and after they gave space, the Royal Sisters where in sight.
"P...Princess C...Celestia-" Twilight began, but her mouth was shut by a gentle hoof.
"Rest easy my student. You have been a lot for today. Rest first. Okay my little ponies, leave this room for them to have a rest." Celestia commanded, and by doing so, the ponies began to disperse, including the princesses when they need to attend royal matters.
"It's very weird now dears. Just watching what would be the greatest event in Equestrian history becomes almost a nightmare." Octavia said.
"Your right, an it's not fun being in here." Pinkie said.
"Now now girls. Let us rest first before we could go out and have fresh air again." Twilight said. But before Octavia or Pinkie could answer, an anonymous voice called out in their heads, saying:
"After you gotten out of that place, go to the Everfree Forest and go into a hidden cavern. It is there you three would understand."
"I don't get it. In fact, where is this hidden cavern?" Octavia asked.
"Let us just look for it later." Twilight answered.
"Are you crazy Twilight? The Everfree Forest is dangerous, but if you insist, then go ahead." Pinkie said. Just then, Nurse Redheart appeared before them, but they prey that she never heard their conversation.
"Hello Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia. The manager said you three could go out for some time because you three, they said, need fresh air."
"Thank you." And with that, they exited the hospital, glad that Nurse Redheart didn't heard them.
"Okay, what now?" Pinkie asked.
"What do you think?" With Twilight's reply, Pinkie and Octavia got a shiver in their spine, but when Twilight started walking towards the forest, they immediately without any second thoughts to follow Twilight in their dangerous track.
-Everfree Forest-
"Hey Twilight, when we would see that mysterious cave the voice spoke of?" Pinkie asked her friend.
"I don't know, but the chances are slim because we have no idea where it is." Twilight replied.
"Twilight here is right. Although it is very slim to see that cave, it will be luck that we found it." Octavia said. But before neither got to say anything, the voice returned in their heads, saying:
"Don't worry. You will not be lost in this damn forest. The spirits will guide you to it." After they recovered from that nasty voice, they could white flames trailing in front of them.
"A..Are those the spirits?" Octavia asked.
"I think so." Twilight replied as they followed the trail of spirits, and in a few minutes, they could see the entrance of the cave. When they got inside of the cave, their jaws got to a position wherein it's hanging in awe. In the cave where swords, sticking out from stones.
'What kind of swords are this?' Twilight asked in her mind. As a cue, the voice come back, saying:
"Take the sword, and you will experience something like no other." The three ponies got back to their senses, but their initial curiosity became a drive as they come closer and closer. When they got very near to the swords, their minds tells them to take it. With a grin on their faces, they gripped the swords with their hooves, and slid the swords out of the stones.
'Well, it wasn't that bad, is it?' Twilight said in relief. But that relief would no longer last. Out of the blue three columns of magic engulfs them, getting them scared. However, this was not the case. When they got hit, they have been gifted with knowledge they don't know about, and powers that is now implanted on their minds. The column of magic suddenly stops, leaving the three mares confused.
"Well that was weird." Twilight said.
"Woah what happened to you Twilight?!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"Huh?" Twilight looked at herself and could see the difference. She was now wearing clothes, a feature in which ordinary ponies can't do. The only ponies who could do this are the Canterlot ponies. But her clothes were different. It was a white and black robe kind of clothe, complete with a sheated sword, the one she got out of the stone. Looking back, she could also see Octavia's and Pinkie's difference.
"You girls also." Looking also at themselves, Octavia and Pinkie was also in shock as they were wearing clothes, the same as Twilight has, with their respective swords sheated.
"Well that is weird. We are now wearing clothes out of nowhere." Octavia said.
"It is weird. But I'm also having a feeling that those knowledge and power in our heads are meant for us." Pinkie said flatly.
"What do you mean?" Twilight asked.
"It means you have something nopony has." An anonymous voice said. They spun their heads around until they could see an old stallion, holding a stick and having the same clothing as they were.
"Come, I will tell you what you need to know about what was implanted on your mind."
"Who are you?" Twilight simply asked the old stallion.
"My name is not of your concern, Captain." At the mention of the word 'Captain', Twilight, Octavia and Pinkie wide-eyed in shock. He just called Twilight 'Captain'.
"But why did you call me Captain?" Twilight asked.
"It will be discussed later. You two are also Captains, so listen up." The stallion said, and with a nod, they come closer to the old stallion and he began his lecture to them.
"Okay you know right about that column of magic that envelops you and have this robes?" The stallion asked the three mares, which they nodded.
"Those aren't any type of magic columns you will find here in Equestria. They actually gave you knowledge and powers of something fictional, sompony that is a Soul Reaper." At the mention of the name Soul Reaper, the mares got a shiver in their spines.
"Of course, you will not end somponies life by that. Soul Reapers actually maintain the balance of the living and the dead. When one of these are disrupted, the Soul Reapers will come to their aid and will kill the one who disrupted it." The mares sighed in relief, knowing that these 'Reapers' are actually the good ponies, but shivered by the word 'kill'.
"Now, in order for you to combat the things that would normally disrupt the balance, I would teach you three to become proper Captains in the bloodlines of Soul Reapers." The old stallion, getting nervous nods from the three.
"You already knew that you could see spirits right?" The mares nodded. "Good. That's one of the traits of a Soul Reaper. Another trait is that Soul Reapers have an ability known as Flash Step."
"Excuse me, but what is Flash Step?" Twilight asked in sheer curiosity.
"Flash Step is a special ability wherein ponies would go one distance to another, much like a teleportation spell, but without any magic." The mares looked at him like they didn't believe him. An ability wherein they could go from one point to another without any magic is almost impossible.
"Don't believe me? Well then, I will demonstrate." The stallion said, and in a few seconds, using Flash Step, he disappeared like thin air. The mares got their jaw opened in shock, but then an all too familiar voice said:
"I'm right over here." They turned around and saw the same stallion behind them.
"That..Was...Awesome! We you teach us that?!" Pinkie asked in a happy voice tone.
"Alright if you say so. Now, in order to perfect Flash Step, you need to be calm, and your brain must not be overloaded with thoughts. Also, focus your mind that you must go to another point." He said. Pointing his hoof at Pinkie, he said:
"Since your the first one who requested to learn about Flash Step, go in an give it a try. A tip: try to stand in a bipedal way. It will be much more easier to combat foes in that way."
"Okie Dokie Loki!" Pinkie said, and with the 'keeping in mind' instinct kicks in, she stands like a bipedal creature, and in a few moments later, she vanished, leaving the stallion impressed by her first try. Octavia and Twilight were also mightily impressed, seeing that actually boosted their confidence of mastering the simple ability. Pinkie reappeared, holding a cupcake in her hoof.
"Where did you get that?" The stallion asked.
"It's just Pinkie being Pinkie." With that in mind, the stallion pointed his hoof at Octavia, signalling her to begin. With a deep calming breath of air, she begins her mind to do Flash Step. Within seconds, she did it like Pinkie, disappearing and reappearing in front of the stallion.
"Mightily impressive." The stallion said, and with a point of his hoof at Twilight, she began to do the ability. After some time, she got it, disappearing and reappearing again in a matter of short notice.
"Now that was impressive. Now, for the final one, all Soul Reapers have Zanpakuto's."
"What is a Zanpakuto?" Octavia asked.
"Zanpakuto is a very powerful trait. Soul Reapers have them in order to become more powerful if the situation is dire."
"Could you demonstrate us?" Pinkie pleaded, and with a sigh, the old stallion said:
"Fear, Akumu." In an instant, there was a blinding flash, temporarily blinding the mares with it's flash. Moments later, they could now open there eyes, and what is in front of them astonished them. In front of them was the same old stallion, but he has a different robe, and has a sickle as a weapon.
"When using your Zanpakuto, your strength will be enhance. Now, what's your name?" He asked, pointing his hoof at Octavia.
"My name is Octavia Melody, Equestria's renowned cellist."
"Now, try to use your hidden Zanpakuto." With a nod, Octavia begins her work. She searched her mind for anything that could help her, but there was none. Suddenly, a voice got into her, saying her Zanpakuto, and with a deep breath, she said:
"Melody, Yugana Gakki." Like the old stallion, she was surrounded by a white flash. When the flash dispersed, Pinkie and Twilight could see Octavia's difference. Her robe is different, with some shoulder armor. What was striking is that her sword, when she unsheated it, it is now more or less a bow-like sword.
"I like myself even better." Octavia said smirking. With that, the stallion now pointed his hoof at Twilight, who also unsheated her sword. Like Octavia, she searches her mind and the voice said her Zanapkuto. With a heavy breath, she said:
"Light, Maho no Shokuin Boredo." Twilight was now engulfed in a bright flash, and moments later, the flash disappeared, leaving Twilight's new form. Her form has a new robe, much like Octavia's, but the main difference is that she has shoulder and knee armor, and her weapon is a staff blade.
"Impressive." The old stallion said, and with a pointed hoof, Pinkie now performs her own Zanpakuto. Like the other two, she searches her mind, and the voice also said her Zanpakuto.
"Unpredictable, Ima made no buki o henkō suru" Like the others, she was engulfed in a white flash, and when it dispersed, they could see Pinkie's new form. First of all, her mane is now flat, unlike the random mane she has, and she had the same robes as they have. However, she has no armor, and her weapon is a stick.
"Why is my weapon is a stick?" Pinkie asked the old stallion.
"Because you said 'Pinkie as Pinkie', your randomness would give you a large potential over your enemy. Also, your stick would become any kind of weapon that your mind chooses." The stallion replied.
"Oh." The three mares said in unison.
"Are there any other abilities of a Soul Reaper?" Twilight asked.
"It will be tomorrow. Now, go back to your houses, it going to be nighttime." The old stallion, and using his Flash Step, he vanished.
The new Soul Reapers, Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia, when they got to their old forms, stopped near the edge of Ponyville itself.
"So what are we gonna do again?" Pinkie asked Twilight.
"Because we can't risk of anypony being suspicious about us, we need to be swift just for them not to see us." Twilight replied.
"So that means we need to use our Flash Steps." Octavia added.
"Exactly. Now, let us go home." Twilight said as she, Pinkie and Octavia uses their Flash Steps to go back home. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight, the new crowned princess of Equestria, returned home after that encounter. But she was worried that Spike would see her in her new Captain robes.
'I do hope Spike didn't see me like this.' Twilight said in her mind with a growing nature of uncertainty. But when checks on Spike's room, he was fast asleep. Twilight sighed in relief, and she began to trot towards her room. Once there, her eyes began to shut and she is now in a deep sleep.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pinkie got to her home, the Sugarcube Corner. She looked around, trying to be cautious not to alert the Cake couples and their foals. She began to trot towards their room, and she could see them sleeping well.
'Well that's a start.' Pinkie thought as she trotted towards her room. Once there, she goes into her bed and sleep quickly overcomes her. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Octavia got to her house pretty quick, thanks to her new ability, Flash Step. However, she was also mindful that she must not get Vinyl know her secret, so she checks on her room, just to find Vinyl sleeping.
'Well that's a good sign. She will never know my secret.' Octavia thought as she trotted towards her own room, and after a quick check, she falls down to deep slumber
-Next Day-
Twilight woke up with jolted start. She got used to sleep with her new robes, although at first it was very deeply uncomfortable.
'Well the first thing to do: eat breakfast and meet with the old stallion.' She thought in her head as she trotted down from the stairs. When she trotted down, she was greeted by breakfast, made by Spike himself.
"Hello Twi-Whoa! Where did you get that cool robe?"
"It's a long story, and I don't want to talk about it." Twilight replied. "Come now. Let's eat breakfast before I would go somewhere else." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pinkie woke up with a smile on her face, knowing now that she could totally hurt the bad guys with her new powers. She got up from bed, and fixed it up.
'Today is a brand new day.' She happily thought as she trotted down to eat her breakfast. But when she is downstairs, she is greeted by the Cake couple.
"Hello Pink-What happened to you?" Mrs. Cake asked.
"I don't want to talk about it. Anyways, let's eat!." Pinkie said in joy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Octavia woke up, like Twilight, in a jolt. She stand up from her bed and fixed it nice and tighty. Speaking of which, she was starving. She goes out of her room, and trotted towards the kitchen, and finds Vinyl awake, making breakfast.
'What am I suppose to do now?' Octavia thought as she got into her chair, with Vinyl going into her seat, with the breakfast already finished.
"Hello Tavi. I could see you have new clothing right there." Vinyl said.
"Why thank you. But if you ask me where did I get it, I will not tell you, even though you will force me to. Now, let us just eat our breakfast." Octavia replied. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After eating their respective meals, Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia meet up in front of Twilight's home.
"Now what are we gonna do? Although we didn't even divulge any information, we are now having suspicious eyes from anypony." Twilight said.
"What are we gonna do?" Pinkie asked.
"Let's just get out of here." Octavia suggested. With a nod of approval, they used Flash Step and pray that their friends didn't see that.
-Cave-
The mares got into the cave, the same cave which they trained first-hoof their Zanpakuto's. Greeting them was the same old stallion.
"Greetings. I do hope you didn't have anything to worry about, do you?"
"Excuse me Mr., but our friends are having an eye of suspicion at us because of our robes. What are we gonna do now?" Twilight asked the stallion.
"Hm...I will think about it later. Right now, I will teach you some Soul Reapers do, using kido spells." He replied.
"What are kido spells?" Pinkie asked.
"These kinds of spells are very unique, because they don't require normal unicorn horns. Also, they could be use against an enemy."
"How do they work?" Octavia asked in curiosity.
"Here let me demonstrate." The stallion said, bringing up a life-sized pony doll, in which the mares shiver in fear. The stallion performed first a triangular-shape pattern with his hoof, and said:
"Shitotsu Sansen." In an instant, the triangular shape light attacked the pony doll, and it was pinned to the cave wall.
"That was awesome! Could you do it again?!" An anonymous voice said. They turned around and could see Rainbow Dash in the cave entrance.
'Oh buck you Rainbow Dash.' Twilight cursed in her head.
"Rainbow Dash?! What are you doing here?!" Twilight asked the cyan pegasus.
"Well I was just having my normal routine, and was having my flying low routine, when I saw you guys appearing out of nowhere. I tried to spy on you girls when I saw that guys doing something so awesome." Rainbow Dash replied.
"You know it's rude your just barge in spying on us." Octavia said.
"Awww...It was awesome anyways. I must tell everypony!" The mares wide-eyed in shock, and in desperation to stop Rainbow Dash from spreading the word, they draw out their swords.
"Whoa there. Why do you have swords?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"It doesn't matter Dashie. Now, just sit tight or face the consequences of spreading this kind of information." Pinkie said in a threatening voice.
"And if I don't?" Rainbow was asking, but her question was like mock. In an instant, Pinkie uses her Flash Step to get behind Rainbow Dash, who was surprised of what happened. Pinkie got her sword, mere inches away from Dash's throat.
"I will make sure you will not live that long." Pinkie replied. Her reply was plain and cold, and this brought shivers down Rainbow Dash's spine.
"O...Okay. I will not leak out any information about this." Rainbow Dash said.
"Pinkie Promise?" Pinkie asked.
"Pinkie Promise." And with that two-word reply, Pinkie let go of Rainbow Dash, who was still traumatized of what happened.
"What are we gonna do with her?" Octavia asked.
"She's still awake, but still shaken. We need to get her back home before we could continue." Twilight replied. However, they knew Rainbow Dash could hear what they are saying. However, they will have to take the risk, so they decided to take her back to her home. When they took her, the stallion asked:
"What are you gonna do with her?"
"We will just bring her back home." Twilight replied. And with that, using Flash Step, they brought back Rainbow Dash to her home.
-Rainbow Dash's Home-
Rainbow Dash's home was in a cloud, wherein it's very grand in it's very own rights. Rainbow Dash opened her eyes when she slept a few minutes ago.
'What happened?' She asked herself in her thoughts as she placed a hoof at her head. Suddenly, that piece of memory plagued her mind. An old stallion doing something awesome, seeing her friends in some weird clothes, and Pinkie threatening her.
'It's....No, it's just a nightmare.' She thought.
"Good, your awake." An anonymous voice said. Rainbow Dash scanned her room, hoping to see who said that sentence. When she saw it, she was completely lost. In a corner is Twilight, and her two companions, Pinkie and Octavia.
"We we're wondering when you would wake up." Pinkie said. Rainbow Dash was uncertain what she would say, but with determination, she said:
"WHAT THE BUCK ARE YOU?!"
"Pardon?" Octavia asked.
"What happened to my friends?!"
"We are your friends Dashie. It's just that we have changed a bit." Pinkie replied.
"A bit?" Without any words, the three mares just come out of their position and revealed themselves. They were wearing black and white robes, the same ones when Dash spied on them.
"Oh."
"I'm sorry if I said threatened you Dashie. We were just scared that you will just inform everypony what you saw." Pinkie said with guilt. Come to think about it, Pinkie DID threatened her with her sword, mere inches away from her throat. She trotted towards Pinkie and said:
"I forgave you Pinkie."
"You will?"
"Yeah. I mean, it is my fault just to sneak up to you guys and just introduce myself saying.....you know, stuff." Rainbow Dash said with an assuring smile. Pinkie immediately had shove off the guilt and hug Rainbow Dash.
"Thank you Dashie." She said.
"Don't you mention it Pinkie. Now, what I saw is a....spell isn't it?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"It was a spell, but I'm not sure what kind of spell is it." Twilight replied.
"You obviously don't know it yet." An anonymous voice said. They scanned the room, finding the old stallion.
"How did you here?" Octavia asked.
"You know it." The stallion replied with a chuckle. The three mares pondered for a moment, before replying with an 'oh' to their mouths.
"Then why are you here?" Twilight asked.
"Simple, I'm just gonna visit your friend here. But, if your asking what kind of spell was that, it was a binding spell." The old stallion replied.
"What's a binding spell?" Pinkie asked.
"A binding spell is a kind of kido spell wherein you 'bind' one pony to restrict them or trap them in a single place. Now, if there are no more delays, could I teach you girls the binding spell?" The stallion asked.
"Not for the moment. Maybe sometime. Right now, Rainbow Dash must recover of what happened a while ago." Twilight replied.
"I understand that. I do hope you do something useful with your powers." The stallion said, and in an instant, he vanished, leaving the three Soul Reapers and Rainbow Dash, who was dumbfounded.
"Who was that?" Rainbow Dash asked her friends when she tries to piece up the puzzles.
"Well that was an old stallion Dashie. However, we don't know his name, but he is our mentor for our new powers." Pinkie replied.
"What kind of powers? The one he used a while ago?" Rainbow Dash asked again.
"Yes and no. That's one of our powers that we need to master. The others, we already mastered it." Twilight replied.
"What kind of powers?" Rainbow Dash asked in sheer curiosity. Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia glanced at each other nervously, before Twilight answering:
"Let us just move towards my library. Once there, we will answer that question." Rainbow Dash raised her eyebrow, but before she could gather another thought of asking, her friends disappeared, doing what the old stallion did a while ago.
'Well, it's time to stretch my wings again. I hope.' She sighed as she flew towards Twilight's home, the Golden Oaks Library.
-Later-
Rainbow Dash got to the point wherein she is now in the front door of the Golden Oaks Library.
'Well, it's better than nothing.' She thought as she entered the library. Waiting for her were the Soul Reaper Captains, Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia.
"Hello Rainbow Dash." Twilight greeted with a smile.
"Oh hi Twilight. So, what kind of powers do you three have?" Rainbow asked, repeating the same question.
"The basic one, which of course the most harmless powers, is called Flash Step." Octavia replied.
"A flash what?"
"Flash Step. It is an ability wherein the pony user will go from one place to another, without using any magic." Pinkie explained with precise accuracy. Rainbow Dash couldn't believe her ears. An ability, in which only Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia have, will teleport anypony without using magic!
"Could you show me?" Rainbow pleaded. With a sigh, Pinkie quickly vanishes, but reappearing beside Twilight. Rainbow now believes it is now true.
"Are they are any other powers you girls have?"
"Unfortunately, that's the only harmless ability we have. The rest, well you know now." Octavia replied. Rainbow Dash was depressed to know that they could only showcase the 'Flash Step'.
"Aww. Oh well, thanks for showcasing your you-know-what." Rainbow Dash said.
"It was nothing Dashie. Make sure don't spread the word okay?" Pinkie said.
"Okay Pinkie. I wont forget!" Rainbow Dash shouted, and some moments later, she flew out towards her house, still having a smile when she could see something more awesome in her life.
-Rainbow Dash's House-
Rainbow Dash landed on her cloud house, which was grand, but on the inside, it was a total mess. She goes into her room, which was still the same despite the fact that Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia got there. However, she was still happy that her friends managed to showcase one of their powers to her.
'Well, at least I'm happy enough to say at least.' Rainbow Dash thought as she checks the horizon if it's day or night. Turns out, it was almost night, and she needs a good night sleep. However, a mysterious noise got her attention, from upstairs.
'Somepony is not gonna mess with me though.' She proudly thought as she goes upstairs to take a look to the mare or stallion that broke into her room. To her complete utter horror, it wasn't a normal pony. It was a very big one, and it's coat was white. The huge pony turns it's lifeless eyes towards her, and she could only do one thing.
Scream.
-Twilight's Library-
"Well, it wasn't a huge deal does it?" Twilight asked her fellow Soul Reapers.
"Well it was small actually. Getting Dashie to know one of out powers would endanger us." Pinkie said.
"She's right Twilight. It could be dangerous to tell anypony about our powers." Octavia added. But before Twilight, a familiar scream caught the Soul Reapers attention. The scream belongs no other than....
'Rainbow Dash!' Twilight screamed in her thoughts as she uses her Flash Step to go to her friends house. The two other Soul Reapers also followed Twilight, to rescue Rainbow Dash from possible danger.
-Rainbow Dash's House-
'This is bad. This is gonna be the worst day ever!' Rainbow said in her thoughts as the massive pony goes into her, like a prey, slowly but surely. The massive pony is getting closer and closer, with the intention, in RD's guess, to kill or eat her.
'Well, it's nice knowing you girls.' She said as the massive pony got closer. However, something unexpected happens. Out of the blue, three normal sized mares come out, and when they turned their heads, it revealed the faces of Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia.
"Hello Rainbow Dash. Not a moment to soon?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah. And nice timing though." Rainbow Dash replied. With a grin on her face, Twilight look back at her opponent, with Pinkie and Octavia followed suit.
"So..." Twilight began as she, with her two other companions, draws out their swords and pointed it at the massive pony. ".....what are you and what do you want?"
Rainbow Dash, in all of her life, can't believe what was happening. Twilight, her very best friend and the one who will be with her forever, is threatening for the first time to the stallion.
'What is wrong with you Twilight?' She asked in her thoughts as Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia readied themselves with their swords should their interrogation plan failed.
"Now, I will repeat my question: Who are you and what do you want?" Twilight asked the massive stallion. But it didn't even answer, just looking at them like it's was it's next dinner. Suddenly, it charged at them, prompting them to use their Flash Step, with the creature just missing them. The creature turned around, hoping to see the three Soul Reapers off-guard, but was met by a powerful and swift slash to it's shoulder.
'W..Where did that come from?!' Rainbow Dash thought as she scanned the room. As it turns out, it was Pinkie, who was blood on her sword.
'H..How could Pinkie d...do that?!' Rainbow Dash was lost for words, because one of her friends just physically hurt the stallion. For Pinkie, it was a shocker to her. Hurting a pony with her sword was hurting her too much, but since this stallion is hurting her friend, she has no other choice. Another slash, this time to the hoof, was heard and shown. Rainbow Dash scans again and saw Octavia with her sword in blood.
"How could they do that?!" Rainbow Dash thought as another slash was shown, this time to the chest of the mysterious stallion. RD scanned the room one last time, and could Twilight with her sword drawn. However, despite having slashes to his shoulder, hoof and chest, the stallion remained undeterred and soon wants to re-engage the three mares.
"Uhm girls. What should we do now?" Twilight asked her fellow Soul Reapers.
"Uhm we could try our Zanpakuto's." Pinkie suggested.
"But it would destroy your friends house here. There is no way we could use our Zanpakuto's here and to avoid damage here." Octavia warned. Twilight pondered for a moment, knowing Octavia's words are correct. However, due to the fact that these stallion is now terrorizing her friend's home, she just sighed and:
"Although you are correct Octavia, I can't just leave my friend here who is now traumatized." Twilight said. Drawing out her sword, and having it horizontally across her hooves, she declared:
"Light, Maho no Shokuin Boredo." In an instant, Twilight was engulfed in white light, blinding the stallion and Rainbow Dash altogether. When the flash had settled, Rainbow Dash opened her eyes and couldn't believe what she saw. Twilight had become much different, and although her alicorn wings are there, she had new robes, some shoulder and knee armor and a staff blade.
'W...What..." Rainbow Dash was lost for words, and she couldn't believe what she saw. After hearing Twilight's unusual words and the bright flash, her friend is now different, yet the same at the same time. Octavia, knowing that it was futile using their swords more, she declared her own Zanpakuto.
"Melody, Yugana Gakki." Another bright flash blinded the stallion, but Rainbow Dash covered her eyes with her hooves. When the flash had settled, and when she uncover her hoof, she could see Octavia in the same robe as Twilight's, only then she had only shoulder armor, and a bow-like sword.
'How is that possible?!' Rainbow Dash screamed in her head of what she saw. Twilight and Octavia, when they declare those words, became very different. She hope Pinkie didn't have that when:
"Unpredictable, Ima made no buki o henkō suru." Her fears were realized when a bright flash blinded the stallion and Rainbow Dash, and when it settled, she poke one eye and could see Pinkie's alter self. Her robe was the same with Twilight and Octavia, but without any armor and has a large stick as her weapon. Rainbow Dash is getting too much of it, fed up of why didn't they just showed it a while ago. Suddenly, the three attacked the stallion, with Pinkie's stick becoming a sickle. They landed direct blows to the huge stallion, but it didn't even budge to go down. This made the Soul Reapers desperate. But, in a bid to save her friend, Twilight got an idea.
"Hey girls."
"Yeah?" Pinkie and Octavia said in unison.
"Step aside please. Including you Rainbow Dash." The cyan pegasus hesitated for a moment, before agreeing with Pinkie and Octavia stepping aside. Twilight raises her weapon and said:
"Light, Kasai." Suddenly, her weapon was engulfed in flames before slashing it towards the stallion. It hit the stallion, slicing it in half, before incinerating to it's final. Rainbow Dash has two things in her head. On one hoof, it was awesome to see her friends new powers to it's full, but on the other hoof it was scary for her, killing a stallion. Suddenly, the three Soul Reapers collapsed, returning back to normal. Without thinking, Rainbow Dash comes to their aid and settled them to three beds.
'I must get the girls to inform them about their current condition.' Rainbow Dash thought as she flew to get the rest of the Mane 6.
Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia woke up in a jolt again, this time their bodies felt exhausted of what happened yesterday, but it felt hazy for them. Rainbow Dash waited for them.
"Hello girls." She greeted.
"Hi Rainbow Dash. Why are you here?" Twilight asked.
"Don't you remember? You fight that stallion like it was nothing." Rainbow Dash replied. In an instant, the three Soul Reapers finally remember with crystal clear images, making them having a feeling of guilt, but they knew it was a defense for a friend.
"So Dashie?" Pinkie asked her cyan friend.
"What is it Pinkie?" Rainbow Dash asked back.
"Are you afraid of us?" This made Rainbow Dash in a very tight position. Of course she is afraid of them, since they could literally kill anypony in a matter of minutes or, if the opponent is strong enough, hours but could possibly bleed the opponent to death.
"Maybe so. But, why am I suppose to be your friend when I'm afraid of you?" For Twilight, it seems Rainbow Dash has some logic on her. It's true that if Rainbow Dash was afraid of them, she would not be their friends anymore.
"It's okay girls. At least you saved me from that....stallion." Rainbow Dash added, which made the Soul Reapers go out of their beds and hug the cyan pegasus, who in turn returned the hug as well.
"Your welcome Rainbow Dash. Now if you excuse us, can we go back to our home now?" Twilight asked.
"Sure thing girls." Rainbow Dash replied, and in an instant, the three Soul Reapers, using Flash Step, got back to their houses in a flash.
'Sometimes I don't understand them.' Rainbow Dash thought with a smirk on her face.
-Golden Oaks Library-
Twilight returned to her beloved library, only to be greeted by none other than her number one assistant, Spike.
"Hello Twilight! Where have you been? Breakfast is ready." He said.
"Oh hello Spike. Oh nothing special, but thanks anyways." She replied.
"Are you alright Twilight?" Spike asked.
"Yes Spike I'm alright. I just needed a shower first." Twilight replied, and with that, she trotted towards the bathroom.
-Sugarcube Corner-
Pinkie Pie returned to the bakery, and when she opened the door, she was surprised that the Cakes were not awake yet.
'Still sleeping? Well, that's a start.' She thought. 'Well, a nice shower would be great though.'
And with that, she trotted happily towards the shower, knowing she did good to protect her friend, even though killing the stallion that made her having a feeling of guilt.
-Octavia's House-
Octavia Melody opened the door, awaiting for the unexpected surprise from Vinyl Scratch, or DJ Pon-3, her friend. However, it didn't came. She investigated of what happened to her friend, and discovered that she is sleeping, tired by the fact that she DJ'ed too much.
'Typical Vinyl. Oh well, I think I need to go to the shower first to clean myself up.' She thought, and trotted towards the shower room.
-20 minutes Later-
The three Soul Reapers, after having a shower and having their breakfast, trotted outside to have a walk. But Twilight and Pinkie will soon notice that their friends are also wide-awake.
"I have a bad feeling about this Pinkie." Twilight said to the party-pony.
"As in how bad?" She asked.
"Really, really bad." Twilight replied. Pinkie and also Octavia didn't quiet get the idea, but since they could see their friends coming up to them, they knew if they could see their swords, they would run panic. But one question remains is that, how are they gonna suppose to hide their swords?
'Hm...Quite in a tight spot haven't you girls?' The same voice rang up in their heads.
'Quite in a spot yeah.' Twilight said in her thoughts.
'I may have a solution.' The voice said in their heads.
'And that would be?' Pinkie asked.
'Easy. Using your abilities just to escape.' The voice replied, and suddenly realization hit them. Why don't they use Flash Step before? Concentrating, they used their ability and in an instant, they were gone, unaware by their friends.
-Somewhere-
"Sir, we have detected three of our old enemies." A voice said.
"Good. Now all we need to do is to lure them." Another voice said.
"How sir?"
"By doing what they did with our Hollow." A voice said, followed by an menacing evil laugh.
The three Soul Reapers, Twilight, Pinkie and Octavia, got out of their almost dire situation, but there was one thing that still nags them to their very being. Although they have been granted with unbelievable powers, they still worry about not only themselves, but also their friends. Also, because of their display before the eyes of Rainbow Dash, they doubt she will leave up to her promise to keep their powers a secret. If they think about it, they will have fear to their very presence.
"Hey girls, do you still have that fear?" Twilight asked her other companions.
"What kind of fear?" Pinkie asked back.
"The fear of our powers being shown in public." Twilight replied, which made a lot sense for the other Soul Reapers. If they used their powers in public, what will the ponies react? Will they treat them still as friends or as freaks? Thousands of potential thoughts were in their heads, that it gave them a monstrous headache. However, a noise startled them, and they were in defensive stances. However, when they saw Angel Bunny, they sighed in relief.
"Angel! Where are you?" That voice got them freezing. It was the unmistakable voice of their friend Fluttershy. But one question still remained in their heads, what was Angel doing here? What was the bunny doing? Whatever it was doing, it was stupid. They just hid, hoping that Fluttershy will just mind the bunny.
"Oh there you are Angel!" Fluttershy squealed in joy as she found her pet rabbit. However,Fluttershy could see her pet's rabbit expression quite a bit, making her concern.
"What is it Angel?" She asked. For the hiding Soul Reapers, it's the ringing bell in their heads. Maybe Angel with give Fluttershy what it saw. Thousands of possibilities just showed up that it's almost getting them a gigantic headache, but they refuse to utter a single word. Fortunately for them, however, Angel didn't even showed Fluttershy where they are right now.
"Oh it's probably nothing. Come on Angel, let's go back." Fluttershy said, prompting the white, fluffy bunny to follow the timid pegasus. The Soul Reapers breath a sigh of relief. However, because Fluttershy was their best friend, they decided to watch her as a silent body guards. However, knowing the consequences of doing it, they would go into the shadows just to observe their friend.
-Fluttershy's Cottage-
Fluttershy, the Elemental Bearer of Kindness, got home as she fetched her beloved pet bunny, Angel, from the Everfree Forest, but not that far.
'Why would dear Angel bunny would go there? The Everfree Forest is the most dangerous place in Equestria!' She thought in her head. However, a rustling noise startled her, and she thought that it was a lost animal, so she go outside. However, what she saw will change her life forever. It was very huge, very huge in fact that in her eyes, it was a Manticore, a very big one. She froze in fear, doesn't want to do something stupid. But when the Manticore roared, she do one thing when in a situation like this.
She screamed. She screamed in the top of her lungs, that the Manticore was covering it's ears with it's paws. When the Fluttershy stopped screaming, the Manticore roared again, but before it could do anything, three pony figures in robes with swords leaped out of nowhere, making Fluttershy wondering:
'Who are these ponies?' The three ponies just stood there, in ready-to-battle mode, ready to take anything at the cost of it's own safety. Fluttershy stared at them at a few moments, wondering what will they do next. But she is afraid of these ponies, because they wield a very dangerous weapon, normally perfected by the Royal Guards and some warriors. But she was also curious of why they were standing in biped style, like her friend, the Spirit of Chaos, Discord. Suddenly, one of them spoke, making Fluttershy wide-eyed in realization.
"I don't know what your doing here, but you will not hurt our friend."
Fluttershy, now in a state of fear and confusion, was having a very bad mood today. If she hears it right, then it's none other than Twilight Sparkle, the Element of Magic and Personal Protege of Princess Celestia herself. She was now having a difficult time to understand why Twilight and the two other ponies with her are trying to protect her, with a very dangerous weapon that only professionals know how to use it.
'What could Twilight be here with a sword?' She thought in her head perfectly, with any broken lines or something, and really surprised her as well. That doesn't matter now in her mind. The only thing that matters now is that why Twilight wields a very dangerous sword, more so afraid and yet at the same time curious to study with, but she's an animal caretaker, not a scientist. But her curiosity about it is becoming stronger and stronger when she thinks about it, but she's fighting the urge about making an examination with it. Suddenly, the Manticore roared, with Fluttershy cowering in fear. However, a voice was heard, the unmistakable voice of Pinkie Pie.
"Oh come Manty! Why do you always roar like that always?" Fluttershy was now having a mixed feeling of relief, confusion, and fear. On one hoof, she would be protected by her friends. On the other hoof, she is now wondering why her friends have dangerous weapons, and is cowering if what happened to her if she is their enemy. She is know looking at the most unexpected confrontation with her very own eyes in this instant, not knowing that it will change her life forever. The Manticore suddenly lunged at the trio, and with a matter of millisecond, they were gone, leaving both the Manticore and Fluttershy confused of what happened before them. Suddenly, a sudden slash in the Manticore's wings and Fluttershy's mind wanted to force Fluttershy to move, but she couldn't. She was frozen in fear, absolute fear. Not in fear because of the Manticore, but because of her friends. From caring to killers, it was a nightmarish hell.
'H-How could t-they?! How could they hurt an innocent Manticore!' She screamed mentally in fury as she watched the scene. In her mind, she wanted to intervene the scene, averting a killing scene right before her eyes. But in her heart, she couldn't because of pure terror. She knows that if one of them should try to hurt the Manticore, and she jumped in, she will be the one who will be hurt, not the Manticore. Death is inevitable.
'Oh what should I do??! If I jumped in, I will be dead! If I don't do anything, the poor Manticore is dead! What should I do?!" Fluttershy mentally asked in panic as another slash of one of her friend's sword get a contact with the Manticore, starting a roar of pain. Fluttershy is now rushing in her mind of what do, but what could she do?
