SCP: Ponyville Containment Breach

by Basil Crowcross

First published

Ponyville on the outside looked like a happy place, but in "The Warehouse", there are some dark secrets. Those secrets are monsters under containment, in a place known as SCP Containment Site Number 53...

"The Warehouse" holds many SCPs, including 173, and 682. The Class D personnel are to test the SCPs, lethal or not. They are allowed to keep audio logs, and some tell the tale of Rainbow Dash, the only Class D to survive a Containment Breach.

My name is Rainbow Dash, otherwise known as "Subject 25". Why could they just use regular criminals, prisoners, or threats, NOT A LOTTERY FOR GUARDS?! Great... I'm starting to get ahead of myself... Maybe I get a Safe level SCP. Please... Ooh, my results came through my door! Let me see here... Oh Celestia... Not 173... I'VE HEARD THE STUFF ABOUT THIS, THIS, THING!! DON'T MAKE IT TRUE, DON'T MAKE IT TRUE... wait... Oh thank Celestia... wrong name. Supposed to go to...Night Rain?!... May Celestia guide her, cause she's going to die...

I got my true results. My SCP is 682... whatever THAT is, but at least I don't have 173. The guards who didn't get picked for this dirty "lottery" are taking us to our respective SCP. I'm going to make a prayer for Night Rain, hopefully I don't lose my only friend in this place...

I found out what SCP-682 is. Dear Celestia, I may be fearless, my name, Rainbow Dash, if you didn't know that, might be synonymous with loyalty, but if one of my friends, excluding Night Rain, of course, gets trapped with 682 and I can save them, I'm running from that thing. It hates everything, even other SCPs. I wonder, also, if it can even DIE. I was instructed to pour liquid nitrogen on it, and set 5 mines to blow the thing up. It kept coming to me. The soldiers are pouring radiation onto 682. Hopefully it dies.

Night Rain survived her experiment, and I am really glad about that. I can't lose my only friend here, and I have a secret that I can't bring my self to say...

I might as well end this recording, it's time to sleep, and you get a "special gift" if you don't. I don't want to know what it is.

The Beginning of the Containment Breach

View Online

After Rainbow Dash ended her second recording, and she woke up the next day, something was amiss. Mainly an alarm and a pre-recorded message saying to get out. As she opened her cell, she noticed a dead pony. It looked like a scientist, as it had a pistol, and a key card. As Rainbow looted the important things off the scientist, she wished the best for Night Rain, and anypony else still in the facility. A door protected the cells, and required the key card Rainbow Dash had. When Rainbow opened the door, she found a long, empty, dark hallway. This wasn't the time for second guessing, so Rainbow went into the hallway. Suddenly, a door opened to the right of Rainbow Dash, and she had wondered what just happened, but went into the room. Inside was a radio. A voice suddenly came over the radio. "Subject 25, I don't have much time to explain who I am. I need you to get to Gate E, the lab entrance.", the mysterious voice said. Rainbow, even wondering who that voice was and if she was getting led into a trap, decided to get to Gate E...

Meanwhile, in tech security, section D-4....

"Night Rain, Rainbow is coming. Get ready," said her new useful ally, a tech engineer named Basil Crowcross,"because I'm opening Gate E for her, and we might get exposed to any of the freed SCPs." Night Rain responded with "Like 173? I can't see that... Monster... anymore... and Rainbow wanted to tell me something too, and I can't die until I know what Rainbow wanted to say..." Rainbow would soon get to Gate E, where a secret would be told...

So, I'm at Gate E, and nothing is opening or, for that matter, happening. Maybe the key card... Great. Rejected.

I was right. This was a trap. Gate E won't open, I'll get shot or strangled by 173 eventually, and Night Rain is probably dead by now....

(Sound of Gate E opening)

Holy....

Drones. Everywhere. I'm still dead. Those lights are red, so that CAN'T be good. Their guns are ready, and so am I. Ready to get shot-

Now the lights are green. Hmm. If that's good, I'm in the clear.

Rainbow Dash dropped the recorders on the ground, staring at the shadowy figures past the drones. Rainbow thought "Maybe I'm supposed to walk... or fly, I can be fast if I want, everypony is dead, towards those ponies...?" As she slowly flew over, a voice that Rainbow only knew as Night Rain cried out "Hey, Rainbow! Is that you?" When she heard that sentence, Rainbow instantly flew over with caution, but also glee, as that was Night Rain. But Rainbow wanted to tell Night Rain, it was the perfect opportunity to say three words. The lights in the entrance lit up, and visible was Night Rain, and, unbeknownst to Rainbow Dash, Basil Crowcross. As she shook hooves with Basil, he actually introduced himself, saying "Hi, Subject 25, may I call you Rainbow? I'm Basil Crowcross, leader of these drones, kinda." Rainbow also introduced herself, but she was in a hurry to tell Night Rain what was concerning Rainbow herself. After their conversation, Rainbow turned to Night Rain, and began speaking. "Night Rain, I have to tell you something. Stay silent until I'm done. As you know, we are best friends. But... I kind of feel embarrassed thinking about this without saying it, so here goes. I... love you. Night Rain, you alive?" Night Rain was in shock hearing, to her, the best thing ever, responding with "You... do? Well, I have to say, love you too." With those words, the couple had their first hug, and it was amazing. Basil hacked into the door leading to the labs. He responded with "Whenever you two are ready, let's go into the labs, and Gate D. After a few more seconds, the trio descended into the labs, unbeknownst of 682...

The Lab Chase

View Online

With Gate E behind the trio of Rainbow, Night Rain, and Basil, the only thing in the way to Gate D and the electrical systems was the maze of 2 pony labs, and then the microwave hall, which, thankfully, was not active at the time. Basil tried to lighten the dark and creepy atmosphere by saying "Well, at least there isn't dark... tall... things with no faces?" It didn't help, as Night Rain and Rainbow were still, reluctantly, walking along. Suddenly, a noise had scared the trio a bit, and Basil, still being a guard, armor, goggles and all, pulled out a revolver out of his holster, and only hoped that noise was not an SCP, and just some insane pony who had to be put down, for the safety of any other escapees. As Basil turned his head to peak out of a corner, he came up with a plan. Basil explained his plan, which was "to split up, and find the microwave hall, then meet up there". Rainbow and Night Rain agreed, and Rainbow went her separate way of everypony. Close to the microwave hall, Rainbow rounded a corner, and found SCP 682. Rainbow shrieked out, and screamed "Holy.... DEAR CELESTIA NO. GET AWAY!". If only Basil and Night Rain had not heard Rainbow, she would have gotten mauled. But about five seconds after the encounter, Rainbow heard an explosion, looked to her left, and saw a hole in the wall, thanks to handy propane tanks combined with Basil. Mix two and two together, and Rainbow went through the hole, everypony trying not to get lost. Pretty soon, the Microwave hall was slowly activating, doors closing, and 682 getting closer. Rainbow did something that was risky, but needed, nonetheless. Rainbow picked up Night Rain and Basil, and slid them under the first door, and got under herself. As soon as that happened, she quickly flew over to the other door, holding it open for Basil and Night Rain to get under, and got slight burn marks, but the kind that doesn't hurt as much. Unflinching, Rainbow closed the door, and in good time, as 682 was starting to become rare, and not the uncommon kind. Gate D, and also a huge threat, was ahead of the trio. Unfortunately, they didn't know a treat was about to uncover itself...
