What happens when The Rookie from Ghostbusters The Video Game gets sent to Equestria by accident? Chaos.
When The Ghostbusters defeated Shandor by crossing the streams, a blast sent them all flying back to their world except for one, The Rookie. Now The Rookie, real name Bryan Welsh, has been sent to a year before the summer sun's celebration. Alone and on his own, Bryan must find a way back to the other busters and fast for if he takes too long, there's a chance he could be stuck there forever.

"Cross the streams!" Egon shouted as the busters crossed their proton streams together
Shandor shouted like a madman as it gave him pain, he couldn't express it though 'cause he was destroyed. The five then stopped their fire and was pushed back, when they stopped they were no longer in the ghost world, but back in the place where they found Alyssa and Peck.
"We eat gods for breakfast?" Ray asked confused at Egon's comment
"Hey, where'd the caddy go?" Peter said as he got off the ground realized they were missing a member
"Damn he must not have made it through!" Winston shouted
"Wrong he did." Egon said as he saw the PKE Metter flash his location "Oh no."
"What, what happened to him?" Winston asked
"He's in another dimension." Egon said, "And it's not ghost world."
"Oh no indeed!" Ray stated
The Rookie woke up from the push and found himself in some kind of forest. He thought for a moment and realized when he entered through the portal he wasn't in a forest.
"Great... I defeat a god and now I'm seperated from the others. Not like as if I didn't expect this though considering it ain't the first tme." The Rookie/Bryan Welsh sighed as he looked at his new enviornment
In the distance, he could see what looked to be a town.
"Well time to go explore like I always do." he sighed to himself as he turned off his proton stream and put it back on his one-man army of a proton pack
He felt like a war veteran every time he looked at it, with its arsenal of a Proton Stream, Boson Darts, Shock Blast, Stasis Stream, Slime Blower, Slime Tether, Meson Collider, and Overload Pulse, all fully upgraded he felt like a one-man army.
All of a sudden he saw a rainbow run across the top of the city and headed for the town to see if they were in trouble. Since he was a Ghostbuster now he had to see and check for all paranormal, he then equipped his PKE Meter, which in turn, plopped the Ecto goggles down over his eyes, since they were linked together, but quickly noticed he had a flat.
"That's strange... I mean rainbows aren't, but I know they don't do what it just did. That HAD to have been the work of a ghost." Bryan said to himself, "Probably an illusion ghost. Wouldn't be the weirdest thing I ever fought, that's for sure."
He kept it up in case it spiked either Red, Green, or Blue, and he remembered which ones represented which, Red signified a hidden ghost, Green indicated an environmental paranormal anomaly, and Blue meant an active sample.
"Then again it's not really that hard to remember. ...... I really need to stop talking to myself."
As he walked down the trail to the town he noticed that he was getting some spikes on the meter, but the wings didn't come up so they weren't any danger to him yet. However, when he hit the tip of the town it changed to Red and the wings came up a bit.
"Gotcha. ...... I've got a VERY bad feeling all of a sudden."
As the ponies of Ponyville were enjoying their day Rainbow Dash was busy clearing away some clouds because of it being her job as Ponyville weather manager.
"Ugh, why do I always get stuck with this. Can't those weather ponies get someone else to-"
Just then she was cut off from a boom sound that went across Ponyville.
The citizens below also heard it as well as did Bryan, who just made it a few inches into town. When they looked in the direction of the sound they saw an Ursa Minor was on a rampage, Bryan scanned it upon seeing the spikes and wings reach its peak and it showed this information:
Bryan then put away the PKE Meter, that then pulled the goggles back up, and pulled out the proton stream switching it on where he switched to the shock blast and the overlay showed red on the Ursa meaning it was destroyable. Bryan gave a smirk at this and used the stassis stream function which slowed down the minor, he missed a shot however and had to move to the side alot to avoid the claws of doom, meanwhile Rainbow Dash as well as the rest of Ponyville saw the blue stream and the ursa going crazy in that one are and decided to investigate, when they got there they saw a wired creature battleing it with some kind of device, the scientist ponies stared in awe at the invention but soon snapped back as The Rookie hit another stassis on it, this time freezing it completly.
"You're too slow!" Bryan taunted as he fired, only managing to get chunks off of it before it unfroze, "Uh oh..."
The Ursa Minor roared at him and sent him flying into a house. He was able to get back up, but the green bar was REALLY low.
"Come on Bryan, think, think, think!" he went, "Aha! I've got a plan now!"
He switched to the Meson Collider and painted the Minor with it before switching to the Overload Pulse and going ham with it.... for a few seconds before the pack overheated and shorted out.
"D'OH! That's the ONE disadvantage of this mode!" Bryan cursed as he moved out of the way of the minor's charge attack
Bryan then made a desperate move for the Stasis Stream again as he noticed the minor's health was at one point. It was now or never. The Minor charged for Bryan again and with careful timing managed to freeze the Ursa completely before quickly switching over to the Proton Stream and using the Boson Dart to completely obliterate the Minor. Bryan then gave a sigh of relief after the battle. It sort of reminded him of Azethlor's patterns mixed in the Golems so he did what he did in the Azethlor and Golem battles and kept dodging all his attacks. Oh, how he wished the other busters could see him now. Just then he heard someone speak up.
"That. Was. AWESOME!" Rainbow shouted in glee as the rest followed
"Ah've never seen something take down an Ursa before!" Applejack stated
Bryan then put his hand behind his head in confusion before turning off his proton stream and putting it back on the pack.
"Uh, no need to thank me. I'm just doing my job." Bryan went
Oh boy this is gonna be interesting..... Bryan groaned in annoyance, Bryan Welsh just what have you gotten yourself into this time.....
As Bryan was walking through the town to City Hall a few ponies kept asking questions like; "What are you?" "How did you do all that?" etc.
There are times when I like big crowds, and there are times when I don't. This is one of the later moments. Bryan thought, being rather uncomfortable, And I thought I had a zillion questions going through my head during the Shandor Saga, these ponies have got more questions than a beginner mother trying to find a babysitter!
Eventually, he made it and gave a sigh of relief as he was finally away from the crazy ponies.
"Not that I don't mind the attention and would love to answer their questions I NEED to speak to the town mayor right now. I've got a few questions of my own I'd like answered." Bryan said to himself
Bryan turned around to find himself in front of Mayor Mare.
"GAHHHH!!!!" Bryan screamed, "Jesus you scared me!"
"My apologies. I intended to speak to you as soon as you came in but you looked to be talking to yourself so I didn't want to interrupt. I'm Mayor Mare. The leader of this town."
"I'm Bryan Welsh, and as you can guess I'm not from this world."
"You aren't?"
"I'm actually from another world. My colleagues I and just got through dealing with a ghost god that was threatening to destroy our world, but during the blast back to our world I got separated from them."
"I see."
"You seem to be pretty calm despite talking to someone who isn't from this world."
"I've had to deal with a lot in my lifetime Mr. Welsh. Things rarely surprise me anymore."
"I can see that... Why were you going to speak to me anyway?"
"The Town Hall might be far, but I could see everything going on from outside my office."
"Oh... I see."
"I was going to host a celebration for you for saving our town from the Ursa before it could do any real harm, but.... it looks like that might be a bit of a bad idea."
"Ever since I defeated that Minor they've been asking me all kinds of questions and just won't leave me alone."
"They tend to do that when they come in contact with the unknown. It's just natural instinct after all."
"I know but the bombardment is just making me so uncomfortable. If they wanna ask me questions, I'm happy to answer them, but I'd much prefer it to be in a more organized manner than this."
"I could arrange a town meeting for you to do so."
"That would be nice."
I will admit this is not what I was expecting, but then again this is a new world I'm in. For all, I know it could run by a completely new set of rules. If it does? Oh boy, the studying's gonna be more of a killer than it was back in college... At least the idea of the town meeting shouldn't scare me. College pretty much killed me of stage fright. Plus, I'm a Ghostbuster, I can't let myself be scared easily, that just sends off a bad sign to the franchise as a whole! Bryan thought, If possible though I probably should open up a branch here so that I can keep track of my equipment better and make a little cash on the side to work on finding a way back. The other Busters would kill me for doing it if they found out, but right now I've not really got that much of a choice. I need to find a way back, and it looks like that might be my only option if I wanna get closer to home. I'm not really qualified in any sort of other job and this one is the only one I know to do..... mostly. I just hope things don't go too badly here. The last thing I wanna do is become a ghost myself in this world.
"I'll arrange the town meeting for tomorrow morning. For now, you can rest in the Town Hall since it's getting rather late. Don't worry. Town Hall is the safest place you could be."
Usually when people say that bad things happen. I'm willing to bet my proton pack that there's a ghost here in this building. There's just something off about this place that gives me the creeps too much to let this thought slide. I'll need to check when she's gone through and the night's befallen onto the building. The last thing I need is for suspicion to be thrown at me after everything that's happened.
After nighttime hit and Bryan made sure everyone was gone he began his investigation of the Town Hall. He searched room after room but the green spikes kept fluctuating.
"Just like the Spider Queen, it's coming from everywhere and nowhere. Impossible to tell where it's coming from, but there's DEFINITELY a ghost here."
And once again he searched and searched until he found the basement and saw an open black slime portal driving the PKE Meter crazy. He quickly put it out with the Slime Blower Mk II but quickly pulled the PKE Meter back up and found the wings going up slightly and the spikes changing from green to red.
"There you are." Bryan smirked
Bryan quickly followed the trail leading him straight into the Mayor's office.
"What the? Why's the trail going down again? Wait a minute..."
The rookie then went over to an odd looking book in one of the bookshelves and pulled it out, only for it to make a click and go sideways to reveal a hidden staircase.
"Oh boy. It's the library all over again." Bryan went, "Let's just hope there are no Paper Construct ghosts down there."
As he descended the stairs he kept noticing more and more nighttime imagery on the walls and even the stairs themselves. Soon enough when he reached the bottom he found what looked to be a shrine with the words "NIGHT TIME ETERNAL WILL REIGN ONCE AGAIN" over it.
"Someone's lost their tiny little mind..." Bryan groaned
But, he quickly noticed something on the shrine. A book. .... Wait.... book?
"Ray I'm not entirely convinced that this is the best course of action....." went Egon
"Hey! I'll bet you this is a trap!" Ray quickly realized
"Welcome back Ray." Egon commented
That better not be what I think it is...
Bryan went up to the book and breathed a sigh of relief when it didn't spring to life on him. The less he needed to deal with the better. But despite that, he couldn't make heads or tales of what the book was. It was written in weird hieroglyphs, but the illustrations seemed to tell the story of two ponies. One who controlled the sun, and one who controlled the moon. Probably sisters given their physical appearance and joint themes. The sun sister looked to be worshiped by many, but the moon sister was shunned and not given the same love as the ponies slept through the night. The sun sister tried to reason with the moon sister, but let darkness befell her heart and transform into a creature of darkness and vowed to reign eternal night upon the ponies. The sun sister managed to defeat her with the use of six magical gems and banished the moon sister to the moon where the sun sister took up her sister's duties and controlled both the moon and sun for years to come.
"That's an..... interesting story." Bryan went, "But what does it have to do with anything?"
The PKE meter started going crazy!
"What the?!" Bryan went as he looked around with it.
"W-WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!"
Something was coming from the walls. Something black.
"NOOOO GOD! NO GOD PLEASE NO, NOT AGAIN!" Bryan cursed
But, it wasn't black slime. Instead, it looked to be a shadow version of the Moon Sister from the story. Doing a quick scan showed these statistics:
Shadow Nightmare
Class: Class VI Transformed Composite
Weakness: Shock Blast, Stasis Stream
Attack: Melee, Charge
Special: Can teleport
Oh boy...... Bryan thought meekly as he put away the PKE and pulled out the proton stream and switched it on where he switched it to the shock blast and the overlay showed red, That's a good reassurance... I think.
The Shadow Nightmare then made a charge and Bryan braced himself as he used the stasis stream.
For those who were following this story, you may have noticed that big ugly canceled. I didn't want to, but unfortunately, I've been left with no choice. In fact, as of today I'm no longer writing stories on FIMFiction anymore.
I've just been losing interest in writing on here for years now. I've just not been happy with what I've been producing, not to mention as the show goes on, the more I'm beginning to LOSE interest in it and leaned more towards Equestria Girls.
I've been getting more and more into things like Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, Metal Gear, Bioshock, Call of Duty, things like that. I've even been going through some personal changes of my own. One of which is becoming a transgender. It's been taking its toll on the people around me and since then I've been changing so much in my own personality and how I'm seen in my family since I come from a heavily Christian centered family.
I still write stories, but only on Archive Of Our Own now as I've got more creative freedom and can work to my heart's desire on anything I want without worrying about site rules banging at my front door. It's been one of the better changes to have come into my life.
And ever since I began watching Lily Peet, and effectively becoming one of her YouTube Subscribers, I've been getting more and more critical with how I think and do as well as begun striving to make my writing better with her occasional writing lessons in the videos she's done, and because of this I can't look at my old writings on here and not "cringe" as it were at the awful writing and characters I made.
I wanna be better, but I'm not gonna get better if I stay here. I'm gonna still be here to use the account to comment and like and favorite stories I like, but that's all this account's ever gonna be used for. I just can't take it anymore.
