Dark Frost, and his fellow navy bronies, are given a chance to live in Equestria, but what they will find will put them all to the test.

Chase, or Dark Frost as his squad calls him, has an unusual power. He can control water, but it turns black whenever he does, and when struck by lightning, can turn into an energy that he has no control over.
During one of the training excersises at the naval base in oregon, a thunderstorm rolls in, so come and read about what happens to Chase, and his fellow bronies from Pony Company.

“Get moving Dark Frost!” The Drill sergeant yells at me. I growl, and start running faster.

I didn’t choose my nick name. It was the soldiers in my squad that did, and that became my tag name.

I pulled ahead of my squad mates, and slowed to their pace.

We were running around the track at the American Navy base in Oregon.

I slow to a walk as I cross the finish line of the track for the twentieth time today, and the last lap for this exercise.

I walk over to sergeant.

“What’s next sir?” I ask.

“Honestly Dark Frost, I’m going to let you all rest until tomorrow’s combat exercise. I’ve been working you guys pretty hard, and thought I might as well give you some relaxing time before the big test.” He tells me.

“Please stop calling me Dark Frost sir.” I ask him with a grimace at my tag name.

“Sorry, can’t do that after what you did to my tea lieutenant. I still don’t understand how you made the ice black.” He says with a stern look.

“I already told you how I did it sir, it is just if you believe it or not.” I reply in my defense.

“I’ll believe it when I see it.” He replies.

“Give me a chunk of ice, and I’ll show you.” I tell him.

The rest of my squad finish there last lap, and come over to Sarge and me panting as they walked.

“What’s happening next Frost?” Ask Delta Shot. Delta was the squad sniper. He even set a new record in the base for longest distance hit with a single round.

“Sarge is giving us all the rest of the night, so you know what that means guys?” I ask with a huge grin.

“Are you telling us all the truth?” Steel Skull asks. He got his name for getting hit in the head with brass knuckles with a Spartan punch, and having his skull intact.

“Yes boys.” I say as we ready our signature shout for when we get a night off.

“BRONY NIGHT OUT!!!” We all shout as we head for the showers.

We all burst into laughter as we hear other squads groan at our Bronyism.

We were all in our barrack that we all slowly upgraded over the months that we were here. There were six of us. I was there at the back of the group preparing the blue-ray DVD of the, My little Pony: Friendship is Magic series that came out a year ago. Steel Skull was getting our patches that we had custom made.

These patches were our make shift Cutie Marks.

Delta Shot’s was a rifle with a mile marker behind it. Steel Skull’s was a steel skull with a gold tooth. Sharp Thought had a brain with a lightning bolt coming from it. Flame Scepter had a scepter that looked a lot like Loki’s from the Avengers movie that came out a year ago, and was on fire.

Night Terror had a dream bubble, with a demon’s face on it.

Lastly there was mine that I had foolishly aloud my brony bro to buy. It was a perfect cube of ice that had a black base that made wisps of black curling up through the ice cube.

Steel Skull handed out the patches, and we all pinned them on our uniforms.

We were nick named the Pony Company at the base because we all forgot to take our patches off one time. It didn’t bother us one bit. We just did what a pony would, and tolerated the shit out of them.

“Night, what episode are we on?” I ask the African American soldier.

“Season three, episode eight. How do you manage to forget shit so fast?” He asks.

“Shut it or I won’t change your drink.” I reply. This shuts him up.

“So what flavor do you think your darkness will give us this time?” asks Sharp Thought. Sharp is an Asian guy with the fastest train of thought ever. His quick mind pulled our asses out of the fire on multiple missions.

I guess now would be a good time as any to explain my ability.

I was born in sub zero temperatures, and was rushed into the ICU (Intensive care unit) as soon as I was out of my mom. The doctors put me under a sun lamp for a few days to get me to return to a regular color instead of black. I regained my skin color after a few days, and was returned to my mother soon afterwards. My grandfather says there was magic being used when I was born.

My mother told me that the first time I used my darkness, as everyone calls it, was when she put me in the tub for a bath. As soon as I touched the water it turned to ice, and was the darkest black you have ever seen. This ability doesn’t just affect water however. I can do this to all liquid substances.

After my childhood ended I was moving out of my mom’s place, and going to boot camp for the navy, was when I figured out that I could turn blood black, and keep it as a liquid.

The second I got in my car I cut my skin over my bicep and the blood turned black after a few seconds after oozing out of my arm.

Now Sharp Thought was the one to get me to change his drink. We were at a bar, and I was almost drunk, not slurred speech, and stumble all over the place drunk, but enough that I was open to some pretty crazy shit.

So I made Sharp’s drink black, and he slammed the drink down after he chugged it. He completely fell to the floor passed out, and got a good week of clean up duty for being late to the base.

I was waiting for him to complain about his hangover, but he never did. Later on he told us that he didn’t have one, and was thankful, but said it was my ‘Darkness’ that did it.

And true enough the next time we went out I turned all of our drinks, and we didn’t have even the smallest of hangovers in the morning. We also found out that my darkness can make any drink alcoholic.

“I don’t know Sharp, but I hope it will be good this time.” I reply.

“If it turns out like last time, I will never drink your shit again.” Flame Scepter tells me. Now Flame was a Caucasian like me, but he was raised by a black family, so he acts like a black guy.

“Remember how we never get a same taste each time?” I ask him.

“I’m still sticking to what I said.” He replies with a huff.

I got the DVD ready, and we all sat down, stretched out, and watched a few episodes of season three.

“Alright guys, we need our sleep if we’re going to kick ass tomorrow.” I tell the boys. I get some form of agreement from them all.

“Hey Dark, did you check the weather for tomorrow?” asks Delta Shot.

“A large chance of rain tomorrow, and it should start right around the beginning of our test, so we have my ability to help us.” I reply.

“Wait guys, we forgot our prayer to the alicorns.” Night reminds us.

“Right, gather to a circle, and we will do it.” I tell the others. Our prayer was basically asking the ascended alicorns, namely Celestia’s mother, and father, to send us to Equestria.

We were in our circle, so I started the prayer.

“Ascended alicorns please listen to our plea…” I started.

“We ask a favor of you for a ticket…” Delta continued.

“A ticket to the land of peace, and happiness…” Flame said.

“A way to live in a war free world…” said Steel.

“A chance to protect what we hold precious…” Sharp continued.

“We all ask for a way to Equestria…” Night says as we near the end of our prayer.

“To live a better life in the best world there is, and be protectors of its inhabitants.” I say as we come to the final line of our prayer.

“Please grant us this favor King and Queen of Equestria.” We all said in unison for the last line.

After this we stayed silent for a few moments before we all stood from our kneeling position, and go to beds in our barrack.

I woke from sleep an hour before dawn, and made my way out to the track to do morning stretches before Sarge came and woke us up.

I was eventually joined by the rest of Pony Company, and we all did the same stretches together as I led them through the sunrise warm up.

Once the sun was a millimeter into the sky we were finished, and Sarge came to give us orders.

“Company, fall in!” Sarge orders us. We all made our formation, and waited at attention for more orders to be given.

“At ease!” Sarge tells us. We move into the proper position, and wait once more.

“Alright boys you have a test today. You are going to do a combat exercise with Fox Trot Company today, and I do not want to be shown up by them again.” Sarge tells us.

“Night that means no flash bangs you got it?” Sarge asks Night.

“Sir, yes sir.” Night replies.

“Good, now I hope you boys don’t make me order you to run the fun park twenty times tomorrow by losing this war game.” Sarge starts, “The objective is simple. You are to retrieve three files from the opposing force, and return to base safely. You will all be using rubber dummy rounds for the game. You won’t die from them, but they will sting you shitless.” Sarge tells us.

“Any questions?” He asks us.

“Sir, will I be able to use my rifle, sir?” Delta Shot asks. Sarge face palms with an irritated sigh.

“You can all use your custom weapons as long as their loaded with the dummy bullets and you will be aloud to carry your preferred melee weapons with you into the test, but they have to remain in there scabbards for the duration of the trial.” Sarge tells us.

“Anymore questions?” He asks us. None of us spoke up.

“Company, attention!” He tells us. We move to said position.

“Fall out, and gear up for the trial.” He tells us. We all give him a salute, and return to our barrack to gear up.

“This is going to be the best trial we go through.” Steel Skull says as he starts putting on his NCU (or Navy Combat Uniform).

“It will be when it starts raining.” I tell them all as I pull on my own NCU, “Then Fox Trot Company is going to lose so horribly that they will have to promote us.”

“Hey Dark, what are you planning?” Flame Scepter asks me, “Remember what happened the last time you did something too big?”

“Don’t worry; just make sure your boots have spikes on the soles so you won’t slip.” I tell him.

We were now heading to our armory to receive our weapons.

“Hey there Ponies, what can I get for ya?” John asks us.

“We have been given permission to use our personal guns, and melee weapons in the trial today, but we need rubber dummy rounds.” We tell him.

“Do you want the rounds separate, or loaded?” He asks. I look to my team mates.

“Separate.” We tell him.

“Who’s first?” He asks with a grin.

“Delta, you’re up.” I tell my friend. He nods, and walks up to the counter to speak with John.

“I need my rainbow rifle, and my long range throwing knives.” Delta tells John, “And seventy dummy rounds.” He adds. Delta was a miracle worker when he has his sniper rifle. He is the best at what he does, and we all are damn proud to have him with us.

John returns to the counter with Delta’s requested weaponry, and look to me.

“Steel, your next, then Night, Flame, Sharp, and finally me.” I tell the rest.

“Alright John, I need my royal purple shot gun, a side arm of your choice, and my gloves.” Steel told John. Steel had a strange addiction to having steel plated gloves. He says it’s better to beat on someone when you can’t hurt your hands. He always has his shot gun, and you don’t want to be on the receiving end of that monster. He had made his shot gun to have a ridiculous spread, and had spray painted it royal purple, with small highlights of lavender on it.

John returns with Steel’s guns, and gloves.

“I need my dark pistol, and my light, light machine gun.” Night tells John. Night had two sides, and each side was bad ass. His dark side is his normal side, but piss him off, and he will put holes through you with a whole magazine from his LMG. He was like an old gun slinger with his USP. 45 and we knew not to joke about it.

“Will you fetch me my Burning Scar, and my scepter?” Flame asks after John gave Night his guns.

Flame modified his scar to make a custom muzzle flash that looked like a dragon’s head. His scepter was similar to the one on his cutie patch.

Sharp steps up to John after Flame moved.

“I want my revolver, and my moon Bowie, and the ballistics.” Sharp tells John. John walks into the armory for a few moments, and returns with Sharp Thought’s weapons. Sharp was the only guy I knew who could use the ballistics knives, and hit something. He always had ten spare knives, but had his bowie knife for back up.

“What will it be Dark?” John asks with a smirk.

“I need my sword, and my custom revolver, as well as my acog scoped FAL, but only give me six dummy rounds for the revolver, and a full clip for the FAL, and then give me 120 duds of the 9mm’s, then two hundred duds for my FAL.” I tell him.

“Why do you want duds?” He asks.

“It’s going to rain today, I don’t need bullets.” I tell him. John was one of the soldiers that I had shared my power with.

John chuckles at this, and goes back into the armory. He returns with the requested items, and hands them to me.

I put the speed loaders filled with blanks, into the ammo pouch on my left side. I then pick up the six free bullets, and load them into my eight shooter revolver.

I put the magazine into my FAL, and click the safety on. I then put the spare mags into an ammo pouch on my right side, along with a few on my belt.

I then grab my sword, and strap it over my left shoulder. My sword is an aluminum steel alloy that was forged like a katana, so this not only made the sword lighter, but stronger as well. My sword was as long as a claymore and it had six slots up the middle of the sword for the elements of harmony.

I had the only sword of the group, and they made me the squad leader, even when I didn’t want to be, but I ended up in charge anyways.

I see Sharp reach up to his cutie patch.

“Leave it there Sharp. I want to show the rest of the base that we can hold our own, even if we’re bronies.” I tell him. My squad all put huge grins on their faces.

“HOO AH!” They shout. We all give a quick laugh.

“Squad, move out.” I tell Pony Company. They all got up, and followed me out the door, and to the battle field.

“Are you all ready?” Sarge asks us.

“Sir, yes sir.” I tell him. He nods to me, and lets us through the gate.

“A horn will sound the beginning of the trial, so be ready.” He tells us as he closes the gate, and walks off.

“Alright squad, listen up. We have to get the Intel, but we have to time it to the storm. Delta, I need you on high ground, but stay out of sight. Go as far as you want, but stay within radio contact. I have a great plan, but I need you to be there on my mark.”

“Got it Frost, I’ll be there.” He tells me.

“Steel, Sharp, I want you to breach and clear when I give you the go. Steel, I need you resist head butting your target. Sharp you will be the quick shot with Steel, keep him out of the fire, but don’t compromise yourself.”

“Yes sir, we understand.” Sharp tells me while Steel nods.

“Flame, you’re with me when the breach team is done. We’re going to move fast, and quiet. Only shoot at what you can kill without getting caught.”

“You can count on me.” He says with a nod.

“Night… just do what you do best, but don’t take one for the team. Delta until I need you I want you to cover Night’s arse in case he screws up.”

“I’ll do my best to be careful sir.” Night tells me as he cocks his dark gun.

“Okay, so this all starts when the storm does, until then wait at your positions. Move out.” I tell them. We all split into the groups, or fly solo, to our positions.

Delta went up the hill slowly, and quietly. Steel and Sharp made their way to the small base at the center of the training fields.

Night ran up to the barricades at the front of the building, and waited for the storm to start.

The horn went off, and it was a deep fog horn.

I looked up to the sky, silently praying for the storm to come.

There was a boom of thunder when the storm started. I looked to Flame, and he nodded.

“Delta, are you in position?” I ask over the radio.

“In position, and waiting on your mark, careful of the lightning.” He replies.

Lightning screws with my ability, and makes the liquid I turn, into a strange energy.

Wait energy. I thought to myself.

“Squad new plan, forget about the trial, we’re going to Equestria.” I tell Pony Company over the radio. I get replies of confusion from everybody.

“I’m going to try to make a portal with the lightning.” I tell them.

“Dark, the last time you used your darkness in a thunder storm you ended up making a crater at the bar we were all at.” Flame tells me.

“I know, but that was before I had a plan. Squad, switch to the pony channel.” I tell them all before I switch my radio to channel zero. This was an emergency channel that no one is supposed to use, but we use it as our own communication.

“Alright, here is the plan. I’m going to make a giant ball of ice behind Night, and then use my sword as a lightning rod. The ice should shatter, and make a portal.” I tell my squad.

“And if it doesn’t work?” Sharp asks me.

“Then it was great serving with you all.” I reply.

“Frost, you worked hard for eight years to get to this rank, and you’re ready to throw it away on this small chance?” Delta asks me.

“It will be worth it for the chance it will give.” I tell them with my voice wavering.

“Then I’m with you.” Delta says.

“Same here.” Night says.

“You can’t leave me behind.” Steel says with his smooth voice.

“I’d follow you to the depths of Tartarus if needed.” Sharp says.

“I can’t leave you Dark, not after our bond.” Flame tells me.

“Until the end.” I say with a tear streaking down my cheek, turning black as it did so.

“Bronies united!” I hear them reply quietly.

“What’s the plan Frost?” Delta asks me.

“Here is the new objective. First wait for the ice ball to form. Then protect said ball until I can get my sword in it to attract the lightning. After that I make the rain black, and we wait for the portal to open. Night if the portal opens I don’t want a single thing getting through. Steel and Sharp you will rendezvous with Night at the barricade, and assist him in protecting the portal.

“Delta, I need you at the portal before the gunfire starts, and assist. Flame and I will be there momentarily, but watch our backs until we’re behind the barricade, after that move to it, and hold it from any one, any questions?” I ask.

“Just one.” Night tells me, “The hell are we going to do after that?” He asks.

“Once we are all at the portal I want Night to throw a nine bang before we all dash in.” I reply.

“Sarge said no flash bangs.” Night replies.

“I know you have one.” I reply. I hear him chuckle.

“Understood Dark, now get your arses over here.” He says.

“Special Op Equestria is a go. Start… now.” I say over the radio, and start for the barricade with Flame Scepter right behind me.

Flame and I moved around the middle base with ease, and made it to the rendezvous point without incident. I hear Delta start moving over the radio, and smile.

“Steel and Sharp move out.” I tell the last two. I hear my team mates’ movement, and start on making the water ball.

“Night, make some noise.” I tell the dark man.

“Hoo ah.” He replies, and starts to open fire on the base, getting a few hits before return fire came.

Delta ran up to the barrier, and starts to assist Night, and Flame with the defense. I started on the ice ball.

The portal ball was about the size of a smart car, and slowly growing with the water I made flow into it. I hear footsteps from the left of us.

“Ice up.” I tell my squad, as Sharp and Steel make it to the barricade.

I pause the ball of water, and put a hand on the ground, and unleash my ability, making the ground freeze over with an inch of ice.

Once the ice was up, I resume making the ball. It was about the size of a small tank now, and was growing faster since I unleashed my ability.

“Are you done yet?” Night asks me.

“Almost there.” I reply as I got the ball to the size of a large shed. I then touch the water, and freeze it as I also made a stand for it.

My black ice melts at fifty degrees Celsius, so I was confident it would hold shape for the lightning.

“Steel, I need a boost so I can get my sword ready.” I tell Steel with a bop on his helmet.

“You got it Dark.” He says as he swiftly came to me, and gave me a short throwing boost to the top on the ice.

“Whatever you’re doing Dark, you got to do it now. Sarge saw the ball.” Flame yells to me.

I unsheathe my sword, and stab it into the ice, and then broke the hilt off. I slide off the ball, and take a few steps to the barricade, and expand my energy into the sky, turning the rain black, and making the lightning focus on our location.

“Hold the location, we need the lightning, and alicorns help us if it doesn’t work.” I yell over the thunder to my squad. I watch the sky in an adrenalin induced slow motion vision as six bolts of lightning of multiple colors come from the clouds, join together, and strike my sword.

The ice ball melts, and turns into a swirling mass of rainbow energy.

“Squad move into the portal! Night you know what to do.” We all surrounded the portal, with Night on the enemy’s side.

“Nine bang out, MOVE!” He shouts. We all jump into the portal as soon as the nine bang went off.

White, and my squad was all I could see, but we couldn’t speak to each other.

“Why did you open a portal to us?” A female voice asks from my right. I looked at the owner of the voice with my eyes since I couldn’t move my head.

What I saw nearly brought tears to my eyes. I found that I could move my jaw, and breath.

“We were not planning on coming to you, but to Equestria so that we could protect it from external threats.” I tell her.

“How did you manage to make the portal?” A male voice asks from my left. I look that way with my eyes, and am impressed, yet intimidated at the same time. Both of the beings were alicorns, but it was who they were that caught me off guard.

These alicorns were the King, and Queen of Equestria.

King Night Drop and Queen Sun Drop.

“I didn’t know if the portal would open your majesty. It was pure luck from my point of view that it opened.” I reply.

“Why do you want to be in Equestria young one?” Sun Drop asks me.

“I have a question before I answer your majesty.” I tell her.

“What is it?” She asks as she moves in front of me. Night Drop walked over to her side.

“I would like to know if you heard our prayers.” I tell them. Night Drops eyes narrow at this.

“You were the six that prayed to us each night?” He asks.

“Yes your majesty.” I reply. Sun Drop moves closer to me, and stares into my eyes for a few moments with the intensity of a galaxy. When she stopped she did this to the rest of my squad.

She walks back to the King, and says something to him that I couldn’t hear. The King seems to be in deep thought for a few minutes. Finally he looks up to me, and nods.

“Very well, I will allow you to live in Equestria on two conditions.” He says to me with a stern gaze.

“You will not harm the ponies at all, and you protect our daughters with your lives.” He tells me. I hear my squad start breathing again.

I brought them up to speed, and then returned my focus on Night Drop.

“Squad, do you accept these conditions?” I ask.

“Sir, yes sir.” They all reply.

“King, we accept these terms, and will never harm the ponies of Equestria, and will protect The Princesses Celestia and Luna with our lives.” I tell the dark alicorn.

“You all understand that if you do not follow these conditions, you will be removed from Equestria, and put on a world far worse than your own.” The King tells us.

“Yes your majesty.” We all tell him.

“I will grant one wish, and you must use it wisely. You all get one, and you will receive no more.” Queen Sun Drop tells us.

“We will replenish your weapons’ ammunition, and will repair your armor and melee weapons when we transport you.” The King tells us.

“We are forever grateful.” I tell him with a nod of respect.

“Take this to our daughters, and they will grant you a home in Equestria.” Sun Drop tells me as she puts a scroll into my inner pocket on my NCU.

“Where will you deposit us your majesty?” I ask.

“In our old castle, now go.” Night Drop tells me, and then a flash and we were all dropped literally in the ancient castle of the pony sisters. I get to my feet, and see that my squad, no… friends were nearby.

I went to each one, and helped them to there feet. We all then sat down in a circle, and waited for me to say something.

“What’s our first objective Dark?” Flame asks me.

“Our first objective is to find Ponyville. Our main goal is to get to the Princesses as quickly as possible, but remember our two golden rules.” I tell them.

“We understand Dark. We won’t harm a single pony, and will give our lives for the Princesses.” Sharp told me.

“What do we do as of now?” Steel asks me.

“Our objective is to find our way to Ponyville, but right now we need to take inventory, and know how long we can survive here if needed be.” I tell them, “Report your inventory when finished.” I tell them.

They all nod, and start to check there equipment, and gear.

I started to do the same.

I have real bullets now, and two thousand and forty rounds for each weapon. My sword has been repaired, and feels lighter than before. I pull my pack off my back, and look through it.

Canteen is full, MREs are plentiful, I have my two knives for back ups if I lose my sword, I have a small field first aid kit, and a compactable sleeping bag, along with a new weapon.

I took out the new weapon that was in my pack. There was also a scroll attached to it. I open the scroll, and read it.

Dark Frost,

We have given you this enchanted replica of your main weapon that needs no ammunition, but uses your magic to fire.

Only use it in a time of great need for it will sap your life force if you use it too much.

From the ascended,

The King and Queen of Equestria.

After I read the scroll I looked at the revolver that had a slight black dimming effect, like the opposite of a glow.

I looked up to the rest of my squad, and saw that they too received similar weapons to there primaries. I smile, knowing these would help when we ran out of ammunition, but that would only happen after a few great battles.

“Dark, we all have way more bullets then what we started with, and now they’re real.” Flame tells me. I nod to him.

“I know, we also got a bonus weapon from them, but now we need to work on our first objective. We need to get to Ponyville.” I say as I stand up, sheathing my new sword that had the slots for the elements. I pull my pack onto my back.

“Dark, which way is Ponyville?” Steel asks.

“Sharp, any ideas?” I ask.

“The mane six traveled in one direction the whole time when they were in here, so we need to find the area’s they walked on, and that should lead us back to Ponyville. It also depends on when the King and Queen placed us within the time line.” He replies.

“Then that is the plan we’ll follow unless it becomes too hard of a task.” I say as I look to the front doors of the ancient castle.

“Bronies, move out.” I say as I walk to the door, and open it.

We all got to the rope bridge that the mane six went over, and we crossed it without problem. The bridges ropes came to the sides of our abdomens, so that means that ponies are around four to five feet tall. This earned a sigh out of us all, for we were afraid of being taller then Celestia, but this put our fears to rest.

We stopped at the other end of the bridge.

“Use melee weapons, we don’t need to alarm any predators or ponies if they are close enough to hear the gun fire.” I tell my squad as I holster my revolver, and pull out my sword.

The rest of them did the same, and then we continued into the Everfree forest.

It was a slow and tiring hike through the overly vegetated forest, but we eventually made it to what seemed to be a trail.

“Sharp, check the trail for tracks, it will tell us when we arrived.” I say as I halt our motions, and wait on Sharp to look over the trail.

“Dark, there are still hoof prints on the track. I would say that they’re about a day old. By the number of tracks, there were at least six ponies here, but it seems as if two more joined them on the trek back.” Sharp reports to me. I smile at the news.

“Guess we’re here after the Nightmare Moon arc, and literally right after it.” I tell my squad, and start walking down the train, with the rest of my squad following me.

“We’ll follow the tracks for as far as they go, but if we lose them we will keep going in the direction they stopped at.” I say as I sheathed my sword.

My sword is light, but it gets awkward to carry for too long.

As we followed the trail, we hear the sounds of the forest. There was the buzzing of winged insects, and the occasional croak of a frog.

I stopped as the forest went silent. I pull my sword from it’s sheathe with a ringing sound as the blade is slid across the end of it’s sheathe.

“Be ready, something is wrong.” I whisper to the rest of the group.

We all waited while looking in different directions for a threat to show itself.

We all heard the rustling of leaves come from different directions, and got into wide stances.

Flame had his scepter at a forty five degree angle held in front of him. Delta had two throwing knives at the ready. Steel had his gloves on, and was clenching his fists. Sharp had his ballistics at the ready. Night put on his spiked iron knuckles, and nodded to me.

I saw the shrubbery move in front of me, and tensed in anticipation.

A ferret came out from behind the bush, and runs passed us to the bushes on the other side of the trail. We all chuckle at our nerves, but get serious as another rustle comes from the bushes.

We waited for what seemed like hours, but were truly only seconds before a group of wooden wolves jumped from the bushes.

They circled us, and we held our position.

“Sharp, how many are there?” I ask.

“Twelve, Frost.” He replies.

“Wait for them to attack, then counter and kill.” I say as I saw the wolves stop.

As soon as I was finished the wolves attacked us.

It was a flurry of weapons, and wood as we took the first set out.

I easily smack my wolf to the side with the flat of my blade, and then preformed an executioner cut.

I could hear the others finish the first wolves, and then the others attacked.

My wolf dodged my blade this time, and made to bite my leg. I jumped, and landed on the wolf’s head, smashing it into the ground.

I sheathe my blade when the others were finished.

I saw a few burning pieces of wolf wood, and chuckled knowing that Flame had done that. I then saw a few wolves with there heads smashed in, and looked to Steel, who was picking slivers out of his gloves. I turn to see two wolfs that had a knife in their head. I watched as Delta pulled them out.

“Alright, move out before they come back.” I tell everyone as I point down the trail.

“Uh Frost, they already are.” Flame tells me.

“Fuck, double time it, MOVE!” I shout and we broke into a run going down the trail, following the tracks as we did.

I hear multiple howls coming from behind us, and take out a hornet’s grenade.

“Nest out!” I shout as I drop the grenade, and let it stop on it’s own time.

For those of you who don’t know what a hornet’s nest grenade is, it is a grenade that explodes, and shoots hard rubber balls in every direction. So you don’t want to be around when one of these goes off.

I hear the small boom of the grenade, and yell, “HIT THE DECK!”

Everyone immediately drops to a prone position, and I hear some of the rubber balls wiz past us.

I hear the cries of the wooden wolves, which I now recognized as timber wolves and get up.

“Let’s move out.” I say as I stood up. The others did the same, and we continued onward.

We made it to the river were the huge purple serpent lives. I noticed that the sun was setting, so I held up my right fist to stop.

“We’ll make camp here, and continue in the morning. We will all take two hour shifts when we sleep. Delta, you’re with me on the first shift. Sharp and Night, you’re on the second. Flame and Steel are on the third, and we will rotate until right before dawn, when the sky starts to brighten.” I tell everyone.

“Frost, what if the serpent comes?” Sharp asks. I face palm as I remember the giant purple serpent that was almost as bad as Rarity when drama came into play.

“Just be cautious, and try to reason with him, but do not, take shots at him. If he turns violent, in the small chance that happens, try to reason with him.” I say as I unpack my sleeping bag, and take off my tactical vest, along with the NCU jacket.

The others did the same, and I went to get firewood. I kept my sword with me, just to be safe.

I returned to the camp after a few minutes, and had Flame start a fire.

Flame also has a special ability, but only I know about it. He has the ability to control fire to a point, and he hides his power very well.

Flame had a fire going after two strikes with his flint and steel. He didn’t need them, but he used them to hide his power.

“Alright boys, lets relax.” I say as I sit on a fallen tree.

“Dark, what are we going to do if the ponies panic?” Flame asks as he lies down on his sleeping bag, and looks up to the now deep blue sky.

“I’ll have a plan in the morning.” I answer as I pull out my sharpening stone, and start running it along my blade’s edge.

“Alright.” He says as he closes his eyes.

Delta and I stayed silent for thirty minutes for the others to sleep.

“So what are you really thinking about?” Delta asks me as he twirls one of his throwing knives around his finger.

“Home and what we left behind.” I tell him as I put my sharpening stone away. I then pull out my revolver, and unload the bullets, and reload them a few times.

“I can understand that. If we ever make it back, I don’t want to go back, but if we do Sara is going to have my balls hanging from her truck’s tow hitch.” Delta tells me. We both chuckle at this, but we also knew that it was true.

“What are you thinking about in particular?” He asks me.

“You know who.” I tell him.

“Oh.” He says backing down from his confidence, for he knew not to ask about her.

“I can’t get her out of my head. It feels like I just abandoned her.” I tell him as I put my revolver back in its holster. I feel the ache in my heart of a lost loved one.

“I feel what you mean. I feel like I just left Sara as well, but it is nowhere near your intensity.” He replies somberly.

“Alright, enough of the mushy stuff, before I break and then everybody is screwed.” I say with a mask of happiness.

Delta buys it, and chuckles with me.

“So do you have a plan?” Delta asks.

“I’m thinking of all the scenarios that could happen, and what we could do to get what we want the fastest. So far I have two plans. The first one is we walk into Ponyville, and you all wait outside the library, while I try to have Twilight contact the Princesses. I have two back ups if that fails.

“The second is if the ponies go into panic. We will walk in, see what the reaction is, and if they panic we walk on to Canterlot, and walk straight up to the castle gates, and just demand to see them both. I have back ups for those as well.” I tell him. He stays silent, and most likely thinks this through.

“Say the first plan works, how do we gain the trust of Celestia, and Luna?” Delta asks. I reach into my inner breast pocket, and pull out the scroll.

“The queen gave me this, and said it would persuade Celestia for us, and take care of that mess.” I reply as I tuck the scroll back into my pocket.

“That is very helpful of the Queen.” Delta says. I nod, and look at my watch. It beeps telling me our watch is up.

“Alright, our shift is up. You wake Steel, and I’ll wake Night.” I say as I stand, and walk over to Night Terror. I put my hand on his shoulder, and shake lightly.

Night wakes, and looks to me.

“Our shift is up. You and Steel are up now.” I tell him. He nods with a yawn, and gets up, and puts some wood on the fire. Steel joins him after a few seconds, and I get in my sleeping bag, and fall asleep.

I was woken up by Flame and sit up.

“Your turn again.” He tells me. I just nod, and get out of my bag. I move closer to the fire, which is slightly bigger than I remembered it.

Delta sits on the other side of the fire, and then we just waited.

It was about an hour into our shift when Delta stood up, and waved for me to follow him.

I got up, and walked with him to the river, and saw the serpent on the other bank looking depressed.

“Be friendly.” I tell Delta. He nods.

“Excuse me sir, but may we know why you’re saddened?” I ask the serpent. This makes the serpent swing over to our side of the river, and look at us.

“Hmm, Oh, I’m just sad that I can’t walk on land so I can go see my pony friends in Ponyville. The river is connected to the little town, but it isn’t deep enough for me to get there.” He tells us with his rather unmanly voice, “But who are you?” he asks.

“My name is Dark Frost, and this is Delta Shot, and we have four others. We are also going to Ponyville, but we are a bit lost.” I tell him.

“How deep do you need the water to be to get to Ponyville?” I ask him.

“I only need five feet of water, and I could get there, but why do you ask?” The serpent replies.

In as answer I make a six foot bulge in the middle of the river, and make it climb up the serpent’s body, then let it back down into the water.

“I have a special ability to control water, but if I touch the water it turns pitch black.” I tell him.

“How can you do this?” He asks me.

“I was born in sub-zero temperatures, and my grandfather says there was magic toying with my birth.” I tell him.

“Hmm, this sounds familiar from somewhere, but I can’t remember, but you think you could make the river deep enough for me?” He asks.

“Only in the middle, but I could make an ice boat that you could be in that allows you to travel upstream.” I tell him.

“That might work if the ice wasn’t cold.” He tells me.

“My ice turns black, and can stand up to 50 degrees Celsius, so I believe that won’t be a problem.” I tell him.

“That would be wonderful, but when are you all leaving?” He asks.

“Before the sun rises, just be here, and I’ll make the boat for you, and we’ll all take a ride upstream into Ponyville.” I tell him. He nods.

“Then I’ll see you then.” He says as he submerges himself in the river. I nod, and turn back to the camp, and start walking.

“How are you going to make a boat that can float in three feet deep water?” Delta asks me.

“I make a long flat bottom boat, and keep it in the center of the river, and drive it with my power.” I tell him as we walk into the campsite.

“Not that how. I meant how you’re going to be able to do it. Your ability acts up if something is bigger then a shed.” He explains.

“This is Equestria. I’m bound to have an energy boost just by being here. I doubt I’m as limited as I was before.” I tell him.

“If not, I’ll be there to catch you when you pass out.” Delta says as he sits back down on the log.

“That only happened once and you know it. If I get the nose bleed I’ll stop, wait an hour, and continue making the boat.” I tell him. He chuckles, and I pick up my FAL.

“What are you doing?” Delta asks me.

“I’m bored, and I want make bullets.” I tell him. He snickers, and I walk back to the river.

“Back so soon?” The serpent asks me.

“I need to practice my ability while the moon is out.” I reply as I set my FAL down next to a nearby tree. The serpent looks at my assault rifle, and raises an eyebrow.

“What is that?” He asks me, as he points to my rifle.

“That is a lethal weapon that I don’t need to use, but keep it with me to be safe.” I tell him as I sit down next to the river.

“So how do you practice Dark?” He asks me.

“I focus, and expand my energy into nearby water molecules, in turn making them black, and freezing them, but I can also move the molecules with a bit of will and physical motion on my part.” I tell him as I start to make a few orbs of water float around me in a slow pace with a small circular motion of my hand.

“Wow, I have never met a magic user that could do this.” The serpent tells me. I make the orbs turn into vapor, and look at the mythical creature in front of me.

“I can’t believe I don’t know your name, but could you be a dear and let me know?” I ask the serpent in front of me.

“Oh goodness, how rude of me. I am Kiokosh.” He tells me, “But you can just call me Kiko.” I nod.

“Well Kiko, would you like to watch me practice my ability?” I ask.

“What can you do with your magic?” Kiko asks me.

“I can do many things, but it’s not really magic. At least I think it’s not.” I say as I look at the river.

“Can you make another serpent?” He asks.

I look at the water, and expand my energy, and make a smaller serpent float out of the water, and swim in the air. I start to add more water to it, and in turn make it swim around Kiko.

He laughs as the water serpent swims around him, and then runs down his back into the water.

“What is the biggest thing you can do?” Kiko asks me.

“I can make a huge wall of water, and freeze it in place.” I tell him as I start to gather water on the other side of the river, and manage to make it a foot thick, and ten feet high before I feel blood start to drip from my nose. I quickly unleash my ability, and freeze the wall, before I hang my head from the headache that came with overuse of my power.

At the castle in Canterlot.

Celestia was almost ready to raise the sun when she felt a magic she was unfamiliar with near the vault were the Elements of Harmony were being kept.

Celestia teleports to the door of the vault, and opens it with a powerful spell that only she and her sister knew.

The doors open with silence, and Celestia opens the chest the elements were in. Celestia gasps as she sees the element of magic had a crack along one of its points that ran from the top to the bottom.

Celestia’s horn lights and the sun quickly rose into the sky.

Luna, who was at the other tower had sensed her sister’s fear had teleported to her.

“Sister, what is wrong?” Luna asks as she lowers the moon.

“The element of magic is cracked.” Celestia tells her as she shows her sister the damage to the element. Luna takes a step back, and looks at Celestia.

“Does this mean that they are here?” Luna asks.

“Yes.” Celestia replied before she teleported a quill, ink well, and paper to her and started to write to her student.

In Ponyville at Golden Oaks Library.

A young drake was woken up by a scroll coming from his mouth in a ball of green fire.

Spike grumbled as he picks up the letter, and walked it downstairs to a studious unicorn named Twilight Sparkle. Spike gave Twilight the scroll before he went back upstairs.

“A letter from the Princess?” Twilight asks to herself as she opens the letter, and reads it.

Twilight drops the scroll, and ran out the door to gather her friends.

Back to the river.

“Dark, are you okay?” Kiko asks.

“Yeah, I will be after a few minutes. I get a physical strain on my body if I use my ability too much at one time, or move massive amounts too quickly.” I tell him.

The sun rises quickly, and makes me jump out of surprise.

“Ah, what the hell is Celestia doing?” I ask as I squeeze my eyes shut. I slowly open my eyes, and look around. The animals in the forest are waking angrily.

“I have to warn my friends.” I say as my eyes widen. I pick up my FAL as I sprint back to camp.

I made it there in a few seconds.

“EVERYONE UP AND GET YOUR GUNS, SHIT IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN!!” I shout at the top of my lungs to my fellow bronies. They all wake with a start, and grab their guns with haste, all but Night. I walk up to Night, and give him a kick to his leg.

“GET YOUR ASS UP, AND GET PISSED TERROR!!” I shout at my friend.

Night jumps in his bed at my kick, and grabs his LMG.

“Frost what the hell is going on?” Flame asks.

“Celestia just raised the sun instantly, and we are going to be screwed by the forest predators who are pissed about it.” I say as I shoulder my FAL, and scan the woods with a sharp eye.

I see fifty pares of glowing yellow eyes.

“WOLVES!” I shout as I start firing at the sets of eyes.

The timber wolves jump into our camp, and start to go after everyone. I manage to get four wolves down with my FAL before they got to me.

I hear Night give a blood curdling shout as he starts to unleash his big gun on the wolves, and starts to tear them apart.

“Flame, now would be a good time to let go of your secret!” I shout as I try to use my ability, but remember by a headache that makes me drop to one knee.

I get tackled by a wolf, and my vision whites over, and I can’t feel anything.

“Where…am...I?” I ask as my eyes open. My mouth was dry, and I felt like I had been left in the sun for a month with no rain.

“Please stay still so I can fix you.” I hear a motherly voice tell me. My mind racks itself because of the familiarity of the voice. I look around with my eyes, and see the end of a flowing mane of multiple colors. My eyes widen as I now know who I am with.

I felt my blood turn black from my ability, and feel myself being revitalized from it.

Once I didn’t have a headache, I sit up, and reach for my sword, and hold my hand on the handle as I look at Celestia with fear in my eyes. She has the same look in her eyes as she saw how quickly I recovered.

“Where is my squad?” I ask as I take my hand off of my sword.

“They are in different parts of the medical wing.” Celestia tells me. I relax, and fall onto my back.

“Is Flame Scepter okay?” I ask.

“Flame Scepter?” She asks me.

“The one with the golden scepter with blades on the end.” I tell her.

“Oh yes. The one who we can’t treat.” She says with a frown.

“Why.” I say with dread in my voice, and sit back up.

“He has a body temperature that we can’t live with, and he is radiating too much heat.” She tells me.

I stand up, and head into the bathroom. I leave the door open as I turn on the sink, and let it pool in the sink. The water nears the edge of the sink, and I stop the water.

I summon my energy, and bring the water with me out of the bathroom.

“Take me to Flame, and I can cool him down to a livable heat level.” I tell her.

“How? Even our top unicorns can get into that room without getting burned.” She tells me. I freeze the water, and it turns black. I walk to the door, and it swings open.

“I need to save him before he burns to death, and if you don’t help me I will be your worst enemy.” I tell her as I exit my room. I hear the clopping of hooves as Celestia catches up to me. I slow a bit, and hold my ice in my hands so I don’t pass out from overuse.

Celestia leads me to a steel door that is steaming. I push my ice against the door, and it melts the door from the power of Flame’s ability conflicting with my own. I walk through the hole in the steel door, and strait up to Flame.

Flames eyes were giving off fire, and his skin was burning to the touch.

“Water and fire don’t mix for a reason.” I say with my elemental voice, “They were made to balance each other!” I shout as I unleash my ability fully, and embrace Flame with my arms. My skin was pitch black, while Flame’s was glowing white.

I grew darker and colder as my power leveled with Flame’s.

Once on the same level our powers start to calm and we balance each other out.

It took ten minutes for Flame to power down with my help, but it eventually resealed itself, along with my own.

I got up and off of Flame, and he looks at me with his crimson eyes.

“Thanks Dark.” He tells me.

“Get some sleep Flame. I will deal with the Princess.” I tell him. He nods, and falls asleep quickly.

I walk back into the hallway, and see Celestia is staring at me in awe. I chuckle, and she snaps out of it. I motion her to follow me.

“I believe you have questions for us.” I tell Celestia as I head back to my room. She nods, and we continued in silence.

Once we made it to my room I sat down on the bed, and looked to her.

“You can ask me anything you want Princess.” I tell her.

“Who are you?” She asks me.

“I am known as Dark Frost.” I tell her.

“What are the names to your companions?”

“The one we just visited was Flame Scepter. Then there are four others. Delta Shot, Steel Skull, Sharp Thought, and Night Terror. We all came from the same place, at the same time.” I tell her.

“Do any of the others in your group have powers?” She asks me. I shake my head.

“No, only Flame and I have abilities like this.” I tell her.

“Do you all have special talents?”

“Yes. Mine is control over liquids, Flame’s is control over fire, Delta has amazing marksman skills, Steel Skull has a skull that can take massive amounts of damage without cracking, Sharp Thought is the quickest thinker I know, and Night Terror can’t be scared or frightened by things that seem scary to others.” I tell her.

“When you woke up you said squad. Are you a military group?” She asks.

“Yes, or we used to be before we came here. On our world we were enlisted in the United States of America Navy. My official rank was lieutenant commander.” I tell her.

“How did you get to Equestria?”

“During one of our training exercises a thunderstorm came in, and I had created a portal out of the hopes that it would bring us here.” I tell her.

“Did you expect it not to work?”

“I was expecting an explosion instead of a portal, but no, I didn’t expect it to work.”

“And this portal brought you here?”

“No, it brought us all to your parents. King Night Drop and Queen Sun Drop. After a few words, and negotiations with them, they sent us here.” She shakes her head.

“My parents are dead.” She tells me.

“They’re not dead, but ascended.” I tell her.

“Ascended?” She asks in confusion.

“It happens when an alicorn’s destiny is completely fulfilled. Your parents’ destiny was to raise you and your sister to be perfect rulers of this land, and teach you how to raise the sun and moon. Once this was done they ascended to a realm of their own.” I tell her.

“So they’re alive?” She asks me. I nod my head, but remember that I have something for her.

“Where is my combat clothing?” I ask her.

“They are in the closets of the rooms you are all in.” She tells me as she points to a door with a hoof.

I get up, and walk over to said door, and open it. All of my NCU was there, but it was clean, and fresh. I reach into the inside pocket of my jacket, and pull out the scroll. I close the door to the closet, and walk over to Celestia.

“Your mother told me to give this to you.” I tell her as I hold out the scroll. She opens the scroll, and reads it. Tears form in her eyes, but she doesn’t shed them as she reads.

“Thank you for bringing me this.” She tells me.

“You are very welcome.” I tell her with a soft smile, and a nod. I give Celestia a few moments to recompose herself before we move on.

“I will need to set up rooms in the castle for all of you, until you decide where to live.” She tells me.

“I thank you for your kindness, and generosity Princess.” I tell her as I give her a bow.

“Please thank my Parents. I have done nothing.” She tells me.

“Princess, where is your sister? I would think she would like to be asking me questions as well.” I ask Celestia as I head to the closet.

“She is still sleeping right now.” She says. I stop, and turn to her.

“Oh, then I guess I’ll have to wait to see her.” I reply as I get my sharpening stone out of the closet. I sit on my bed, and open the flask. I pull the water out of the flask, and start working with it.

“So, what would you like know?” I ask her.

“What about you sword?” She asks me. I smirk, and pull my sword from its sheathe.

“Well if I still had the original blade that this was made with it would be very strong, but since your parents repaired it I have no idea how strong it is now, but I’m happy that it still has the indents.

“What do you mean by repaired?” She asks.

“I had to use my sword’s blade as a lightning rod to open the portal.” I tell her.

“So you didn’t open the portal with your own magic?” She asks.

“Lightning makes the liquid I turn, into a strange energy that I can’t control. If the portal hadn’t of opened I, and my squad, would have been dead, instead of living here in Equestria.” I tell her.

“So you risked your lives on a wild guess to come here?”

“Yes, but we all wanted this at the center of our beings, but we were hoping to come here to burry our weapons, and live in peace, but if we must protect you and your sister to stay, then so be it.” I say as I sheathe my blade and stand at attention.

“Me and my men stand at your side, and are yours, and your sister’s to command, and we await your every beck and call.” I tell her with a salute. She gives me a pure smile at this.

“Do you prefer Dark, or Frost?” She asks me.

“It wasn’t my choice of name, so which ever you deem is better will be fine.” I tell her.

“Okay then Dark.” She replies, “You said choice, does that mean these names are not your real names?” I shake my head.

“No, these names are our nicknames, but we prefer them over our real ones.” I tell her as I move to at ease since my heart physically won’t let me stay at attention for more than a few minutes.

“So what is your real name?” She asks me.

“Chase, Valice Nitronence.” I reply with a nod.

“What was your military rank?”

“Lieutenant Commander.” I reply.

“We don’t have that rank, but we do have lieutenants.” She tells me.

“I am above a sergeant.” I tell her as I sit down, and rub my temples, trying to get rid of the last of my headache.

“How large was the military force in your world?” She asks.

“Just within the navy, or overall?” I ask her.

“Both.”

“The navy was a worldwide force, which acted like the police officers of the entire planet. The entire size of the military of my previous country was an unknown to me, but my country acted like the protectors of freedom on my world.” I tell her.

Right after I said this a male earth pony came into the room.

“Princess one of the special patients has awoken, and is calling for a Dark Frost.” The pony tells Celestia. She nods, and waves a hoof for me to follow, so I do so and follow the Princess out of my room, down a few hallways, and into a room that had Sharp Thought in a bed.

“Dark, is that you?” He asks me. I cringe at his casts, and walk up to him.

“Yeah, it’s me Sharp.” I reply as I look over him, “What is the damage?” I ask the pony that led us here.

“He has severe bites from the timber wolves on his arms, and left leg. His right leg has a sprung ankle, but that can be fixed easily if we knew how to do so.” The pony replies. I nod, and walk into the bathroom, and return with a glob of water floating next to me.

“You know the drill Sharp.” I tell him as I bring the now black water to his mouth. He opens his mouth, and drinks the water.

“See you tonight Sharp.” I say as he falls asleep from my ability in the water.

“So this is Sharp Thought?” Celestia asks me, “And why did he just fall asleep again?”

“He fell asleep from my ‘darkness’, as everyone else called it, that was inside the water.” I reply as I go over to the closet, and do inventory on his equipment. Everything was still there so I move back up to Celestia.

“Let us return to my room so that my squad may rest.” I say as I look to the earth pony, “And if they wake, tell them that they are to rest by my orders. My name is Dark Frost.” I tell the pony. He nods, and Celestia and I walk out of the room, and back to mine.

We entered my room after thirty seconds of travel.

“What effects does your darkness have on your squad?” Celestia asks me as I head to the closet in my room.

“If the person who is drinking my water is injured, it will heal them, and put them to sleep so that they don’t feel the pain. If they are healthy, then it acts like an alcohol, but without the negative side effects.” I tell her as I pull my NCU out of the closet, and set it on the bed.

“Where do you think you are going?” She asks me.

“I was hoping to walk through the castle, and talk, but if not I still want to be dressed in familiar clothing.” I tell her as I start to get dressed in front of her without any shame. I was used to getting dressed while others where in the room, for you have to do so in the military.

“I think that would be a good idea. I’ll give you a tour of the castle, and then you can check on your friends later.” She says as she watches me get dressed.

“Would it be alright if I ask a few questions, so I know a bit about the land I am in now?” I ask her.

“I don’t see why not.” She tells me. I had my pants on, and was putting my socks and boots on.

“How does your country’s currency work?” I ask her.

“We use bits in Equestria, and in Griffonia. There are five types of bits. There are copper bits worth one, bronze bits worth ten, silver bits worth twenty, gold bits worth one hundred, and platinum worth one thousand, but platinum bits are rare since we don’t have an abundance of platinum to make them.” She tells me. I nod, and pull my white cotton shirt over my head.

The word ‘NAVY’ was on the chest of the shirt with big bold letters.

“What are the names of the months?” I ask her.

“The year starts with January, and then it goes into…” I hold up my hand.

“It is the same as my world then.” I tell her as I do up the laces on my boots. I then stand up, and walk back to the closet, grabbing my holster, and revolver. I also grab four speed loaders, just in case.

I put the holster around my waist, and then put the revolver into it. I put the four speed loaders into the right cargo pocket on my pants.

“Is it necessary for you to have a weapon?” Celestia asks me.

“Princess, everything I do in my life has a reason behind it. Whatever the reason, whatever I do is always necessary.” I tell her as I gesture to the door.

I open the door for her, and she walks by. Now I’m six foot two inches tall, and Celestia’s horn made her seven feet tall, so that put her eyes at level with mine. She was the only pony that was at eye level with me, and she was the most powerful being there is. So it was a little intimidating for her to pass that close to me.

“Where will we be heading to first mi-lady?” I ask with a smirk.

“We will be walking in the gardens first, sir gentle knight.” She replies with heavy sarcasm. I chuckle, and follow her by her side through the castle corridors, and out into the lush green gardens that are behind the castle.

I had to squint my eyes for a few seconds to let my eyes adjust to the new color pallet that this world uses. Gone were the normal grayed out colors and in with bright pastel and poppy colors that almost made my eyes hurt.

“Are you okay Dark?” Celestia asks me.

“Yes, I just have to let my eyes get use to the bright and poppy colors of your world.” I tell her.

“Your world doesn’t have bright colors?” She asks me.

“We had them, but they were only used in amusement parks, and carnivals, or circuses.” I tell her.

“What colors did you use in your day-to-day lives?”

“We used duller colors, and darker, or calmer shades. Our world would seem dead to you by the contrast, and differences.” I tell her as I gather moisture from the air around us, creating a small glob of water that slowly grew.

“For now, I will were sun glasses to tone the colors down to a livable level.” I say as I shape the glob into a glasses shape, then freeze it. I place them over my eyes, and ears.

“You look stylish.” Celestia tells me.

“I’ve been told that by my friends, but if I did this in public in my world, I would cause a panic, and would most likely be put on a silver table, and cut open to see how I did it.” I reply with a sad smile.

“I’m sure they wouldn’t do that to their own kind.” Celestia attempts to reassure me. I shake my head, and stop walking.

“You’re wrong, because those with enough money would put a giant bounty on my head, and make sure I was killed, and then dissected to figure out my secrets.” I tell her as I slowly make my black ice glasses melt.

“I’m sorry you all had to live in such a world.” Celestia says as she puts a hoof on my shoulder. I put a hand on her hoof, and start to push it off, but think better of it.

“Thanks.” I tell her.

“For what?” She asks as she removes her hoof.

“For letting us stay. You have no idea, but you literally just made me and my friends’ lives eighty percent better than they ever would have been.” I tell her as I go down to one knee, and bow my head.

“We all are forever in your debt, as well as your sisters.” I feel another hoof on my shoulder.

“Please, don’t bow to me. You don’t need to.” She tells me. I move her hoof off of my shoulder, and stand up.

“But I want to. You’re the first pony I must protect. Even if your father hadn’t asked me to do this, you would have still been the first I would protect.” I tell her.

“Why? Why would I be the first you protect?” She asks me, “I don’t need protection because I’m a princess.” That last sentence was said with slight annoyance, but those who aren’t listening wouldn’t have even guessed.

“Because once I knew about your world, you were the one that gave me the strength to continue.” I tell her with slight sadness in my eyes, “You kept me out of the darker sides of my world.” I was now hanging my head.

“How did you know about me before you came here?” She asks me.

Before I could answer a scroll snaps into existence in front of me. I catch the scroll before it hits the ground, and I open it.

Dear Dark Frost,

We need you to not tell our daughters, or the inhabitants of Equus, about our workings in your world. Tell them that we made you have dreams about her world.

And don’t you dare break my daughter’s heart.

From the King and Queen of Equestria.

I look up to Celestia.

“It was your parents. They select a certain few, and give them lucid dreams about this world. My dreams were focused on you, but I never saw anything personal, just important things I needed to know to protect you.” I tell her as I freeze the moisture in the scroll, and smash it into pieces.

Celestia hums as she looks to be in deep thought.

“Let’s continue our walk.” She says, and we continue. I notice that she is taking me to the statues and one in particular, Discord.

“Have you seen this statue in your dreams?” She asks as we near Discord.

“A couple times, I believe it is called Discord.” I tell her. I kept my hand over my revolver, because I freaking hate this guy. When I learned how he ruled over Equestria he went to the top of my shit list.

“Yes, his name is Discord, and he was an evil ruler of Chaos.” Celestia starts her small history lesson, and I hold up my right hand.

“I saw your description of his past, and know the truth about him. I know that he is actually trapped in that statue, and I am getting nervous just standing here.” I say as I keep my right hand on my revolver’s handle.

“I don’t see why you are so scared of him.” She tells me.

“I just don’t like him with his powers, and personality from what I know. If he got free I would feel much better with a bullet through his head than anything.” I tell her as I rest my hand on my revolver grip.

“Well, it is a good thing you don’t have to worry about him then.” She says as she starts walking away. I just stare at Discord for a few more seconds before following Celestia.

“So where should we go next?” Celestia asks me. I shrug, and follow Celestia.

“Where would you like to go?” I ask her.

“Hmm.” She says as she waves for me. I smile softly.

“Lead the way Celestia.” I tell her with sarcasm. She giggles to me, and we start towards the labyrinth.

“So what do you and your friends specialize in?” Celestia asks me. I smirk.

“What were you planning on doing with us?” I ask in return.

“Oh, I’m just curious to what you all can do.” She replies with that motherly smile of hers.

“Well, I specialize in close to medium range combat. Delta specializes in long to super long range combat. Night is the berserker if you tick him off. Steel is the close range specialist. Flame scepter is an all-round soldier. Sharp is our planner, and escape artist. And when we are all on the same mission we can get it done with a ninety percent chance of completion without casualties, and a seventy percent chance without injury.” I tell her with a prideful smile.

“Well then, I guess I’ll have to test you all later on.” She tells me. I smile at that.

“We were in a test of sorts when we came to your parents.” I tell her.

“Oh, and what kind of test was it?” She asks.

“It was an intel retrieval test. We were supposed to go into the enemy building, and retrieve three brief cases that have intel reports in them, and return to base. We used dummy rubber rounds that only bounced off you, and left a nasty bruise latter. We never finished the test, because a lightning storm came in, and then I created a portal, met your parents, and now I’m here.” I say with a dramatic story telling voice. Celestia giggles at my drama, and we exit the castle into a courtyard.

“What do you personally plan on doing while you’re here?” She asks me. I smile at that.

“Nothing that will harm your country, or ponies. Other than that would be telling.” I reply. She raises an eyebrow at me.

“A riddle? Well it’s been a while since I’ve had one that needs to be figured out.” She tells me with a smirk. I shake my head and chuckle.

“Well, I wouldn’t call it a riddle, but it is a surprise.” I tell her. She looks to me with amusement in her eyes.

“Are we going to go through the maze?” I ask as we head towards said entrance.

“No, but I have a small spot I like inside that is nice to stay and talk at.” She replies as we enter the maze, and she led me around curves, and corners.

“Do you take people to this spot often?” I ask as we enter a small area with a type of fruit tree.

“Not unless they are here to stay for long periods of time.” She tells me. I look over the tree, and notice something. The flowers where the fruit will potentially grow were multicolored.

“This tree has magic, doesn’t it?” I ask as I look over the flowers, and gasp slightly as they slowly change to different colors.

“Yes, and it is the last of its kind. This is the last solar tree.” She replies with a small smile.

“I see you have an emotional connection with this lovely being.” I say as I look over the tree some more. I am filled with a sense of contentment as I watch the petals of the flowers slowly change.

“This tree is as old as I am. It was planted the day I was born. It keeps the immeadiate area warm in the winter with its passive magic, so this small spot in the world will stay in summer temperatures no matter what. The tree is more or less like a sister to me. The colors on the flowers are tuned with my emotions. The tree is also a way to tell how I’m doing as it wilts and flourishes with my health.” Celestia says as she sniffs at one of the flowers.

“Sounds like a very powerful magic is at play here. It would make me believe that your sister has one as well.” I say as I look back to Celestia.

“She does, and it is in the labyrinth as well.” Celestia says with a smile, “But she keeps hers to herself for she thinks it as a private place.”

“Hmm, well it is her tree, she can do whatever she wants.” I say as I sit down with my legs crossed.

“I personally think she should share it with others, but I can also see why she keeps it private.” Celestia says with a slight undertone of sadness.

“It sounds personal, and saddening, so I won’t ask.” I reply with a sagely nod.

“Come Dark, I have to return to day court, and I would think you would like to rest.” Celestia says as she starts to walk again.

“I don’t need to rest, and if I remember right day court seems to be a drag, so I think I’ll come with you.” I reply.

“I don’t mind if you come along, just don’t do my job for me please.” She answers in that motherly voice of hers. I chuckle, and just fall instep besides her.

“Now why would I try to do that?” I ask her. She looks at me for a few seconds.

“Some of the ponies think that after I say no that they can change my mind with a sad story, or a bribe, but they are foolish to think so.” She tells me. I sigh, and shake my head.

“You could be a bit more strict with your ponies, not angry strict, just give them a reason to not waste your time, like a small fine or a removal from the court room by guards, or heck you can even use me as an incentive to not waste your time. You are just a pony with a title, and you have needs just like everyone else.” I reply as we enter a throne room with six old educated looking ponies beside a giant red pillow.

“Thank you for filling in for me while I was attending the emergency at hoof, you are all free to go.” Celestia tells the six elderly ponies. They all just mutter a response, and exit the room. Celestia walks up to the giant pillow, and lies down on it with a sigh. It wasn’t a comfortable sigh, or a sigh that says I really don’t want to be here, it was just a sigh.

“Sit next to me if you’re staying Dark. Today has been rather slow, but I need to be here in case there is somepony to talk to.” Celestia says as she motions to one of the now empty pillows on either side of her.

“Do you mind if I just sit on the steps in front of you to the side, I prefer something a bit firmer than a pillow for my rear?” I ask her. She nods to me, and I sit at the top of the stairs to her right.

“So what do you do when in here?” I ask as there was not a single pony in there at the moment, and there weren’t any coming for now.

“Well, when there are ponies here to talk to I listen to a request from my little ponies, and if the request is reasonable, and has a positive purpose, and outcome I will grant it, but most of the ponies that come in here are nobles that just want to flaunt at my hooves for more money or power in the world. It gets tiring very quickly, but such is the life of a princess.” She replies.

“Sounds as though you need to be a bit stricter with your high class ponies.” I observe.

“I would, but that would create more problems than fixing them.” She answers.

“Well, look at it this way then. If you have less nobles groveling at your hooves for no reason, then you are less stressed, and in turn are able to deal with higher needs for your country. You will also have a tighter rein on your upper class ponies.” I counter.

“Yes, however if I do this then the nobles will become irritated with my actions, and cause crime rates in the cities to rise.” Celestia counters effortlessly.

“Yes, if you do it bluntly, but if you do it right you can also lower crime rates, as well as improve the economy.” I reply.

“Since when did you become an expert in politics?” I hear someone ask. I look out on the court room to see that Delta Shot was walking up to me. He had his left arm in a sling, but other than that he looked fine.

“Since I lived in America where the politics are idiots.” I reply with a grin, “And I gave you orders to get some rest.”

“Come on Frost, we all know your orders are more like suggestions.” He replies with a wave of his right hand. I chuckle at this, and wave him up to us.

“So which of your group is this?” Celestia asks me.

“This is Delta Shot, and he is also the comedian of the six of us, but what he said is in a way true now.” I tell her.

“Oh, so you have loose control over your friends?” Celestia asks.

“Well, they are their own person, but on the field in the heat battle or during missions they listen when it counts.” I reply with a smirk, “However in regular day to day stuff they can screw around if they want.”

“Yeah, that and if we let him boss us around all the time he would go crazy.” Delta says as he stands at the bottom of the stairs.

“So what brought you here Delta?” Celestia asks.

“Honestly Princess, I was bored, and thought I could come and chat with you two.” He says with a sheepish smile.

“I would enjoy your company, so go ahead and take a seat.” She tells him. Delta smiles, and takes up the other side of the stairs across from me.

“Let me guess Frost, day court?” Delta asks me.

“Day court.” I answer with a nod.

“So Delta, may I know your real name?” Celestia asks. I sigh, not wanting to here this story again.

“I would prefer if you didn’t. I have a bad past with my name that I don’t want to go over right now.” Delta replies with his head hung.

“I understand, and won’t bother you about it.” Celestia replies with a sad smile.

“Thank you Princess.” Delta says as he nods.

We stayed in silence for a few moments before the throne room doors opened, and a unicorn mare walks in. She stops a few feet away from the stairs, and bows to Celestia.

“Rise my little pony.” She tells the mare, “and tell me what you need.” Celestia had put on a kind ruler mask when she did this.

“Yes Princess. I have come to ask for help. My child is in need of medical attention, but I don’t have the bits for the surgery.” The mare says with a frown. I move so that my elbows are on my knees, and my hands are clasped in front of my jaw.

“And what is the problem that you child has?” Celestia asks with a bit of genuine worry in her voice.

“Her wings have broken while she was flying, and she can’t move them without causing damage. The doctors need to go in and surgically place the bones back into their proper positions, but the surgery costs too much.” The mare says with a slight waver in her voice, “If my filly can’t get her wings fixed she’ll never fly again.” I narrow my eyes a bit as I see something in her eyes, something that was off for a mother talking about her child’s future, but I wasn’t sure.

“Tell me, how did she break her wings?” Celestia asks.

“She was flying overhead while we were going to the market, and ran into another Pegasus, but she also hit a tree on her way to the ground, but she was dazed, and couldn’t pull out of the fall in time. The tree slowed her fall enough so it wasn’t lethal, but broke her wings in the process.” Tear were know streaming down the mares face, and she hung her head. I kept a close eye on her facial expressions, as I’m sure Delta was doing as well.

“I see, and what of the other Pegasus?” Celestia asks.

“He is fine as he managed to land safely, and then he helped me move my daughter to the hospital. He is even helping with the payment of the surgery out of kindness.” The mare says. Celestia seems to be in thought for a few seconds as the mare kept her head hung.

It was then that I saw it. My piece of proof that said she was lying. She gave herself a smug grin.

“Liar.” I say as with a neutral voice.

“Dark Frost?” Celestia asks me, “How is she lying?”

“It is in her facial expressions. While she had her head hung while you were thinking there was a smug grin, and her eyes are also showing the wrong emotions for a mother in distress about their child. She is either not telling the full truth or this is a made up scenario.” I say with my eyes staring right into the mare’s. Her facial expressions said she was shocked, and angered, but her eyes said otherwise. Her eyes said ‘how did you know that?’ with a large hint of anger in them.

“Delta Shot?” Celestia asks.

“My word is the same. She had a grin on her lips while her head was hung. She is hiding something.” Delta says as he looks the mare over.

“Princess, you can’t possibly believe those things over one of your ponies.” The mare says, now trying to pull on heartstrings.

“My little pony these are my and my sister’s personal elite guards. I trust their word about as much as I trust my sister.” Celestia says calmly.

“So you are going to believe them?” The mare asks. Celestia nods.

“Yes, so please tell me the truth.” Celestia says with a curt expression.

“I…I can’t. He won’t let me.” The mare says now looking down at the ground in what seems to be shame. I just keep a close eye on her.

“Then what is truthful in your story?” Celestia asks her.

“My daughter’s wings are broken, and I don’t have the money to pay for the surgery.” She tells us all. I narrow my eyes a bit as I see fear in her eyes, and movements.

“Did someone break your daughters wings, and is threatening you to not tell?” I ask her. She gasps at me, and then starts shaking in fear.

“H-h-h-how d-did you know?” She asks. I sigh and shake my head.

“Who did it?” I ask calmly.

“I can’t tell you, or he’ll hurt her more.” The mare says. I was starting to recognize this situation.

“I’m going to take a guess. It was either your boyfriend, your husband, or the child’s father, am I correct?” I ask her.

“Oh no no no no no no no, Now he’s going to hurt her more!” The mares says as she huddles herself into a laying position on the floor and starts to sob. I look to Delta as he was always better at stuff like this, and he nods before getting up, and walking down to the mare to comfort her.

“Dark, how did you know this?” Celestia asks me with a raised eyebrow.

“It happens too much in my world, and it happened a lot from where I’m from in my world.” I tell her, “And it’s always the same way, but a different reason or victims. I suggest letting me find the accused stallion, and bring him in.” I say with a professional voice.

“I think that my guards should handle this.” Celestia says with a shake of her head.

“I don’t think that would be wise. If you send a guard or two the stallion will know that she either told you what happened, or that you figured it out, and the child is harmed more than she is, but if you send me who looks nothing like a guard it will give me time to detain him, and the child is safe.” I explain to her. She thinks about this for a few moments before sighing.

“Very well, I will let you go and arrest this stallion, but I don’t want him harmed, just get him here or to my guards without hurting him.” She tells me. I nod, and stand up.

“This shouldn’t take long, but what about the kid?” I ask her.

“I’ll pay for the surgery, and we’ll discuss her more after you arrest the stallion.” She replies with a determined nod. I nod back in confirmation, and turn to Delta and the mare.

“Delta, is she calm enough to be moved?” I ask. He shakes his head.

“No, but she will talk now.” He tells me.

“Good.” I say as I walk down to the mare.

“Okay, I’m going to go arrest the pony that did this, but I need to know what he looks like.” I tell the mare in a calm voice. She nods, and looks up to me with tears streaming down her face.

“He has a dark blue coat, and is a Pegasus. His mane in short and dark green. His cutie mark is of a red quill, and a book. He has bright green eyes.” She tells me. I take the description into my head, and nod.

“Okay, I’ll get him, don’t you worry.” I tell her as I look at the court room doors.

“Oh, where do you live?” I ask her.

“Here in Canterlot, in the middle class area.” She tells me. I nod, and start on my way out.

“Celestia, I need a way back into the palace.” I call over my shoulder.

“Then take this with you.” She tells me as she gives me a medallion with her cutie mark on, and her inside the sun.

“That will let you in the gates and into the throne room as well.” She tells me.

“Thanks.” I say as I exit the room. I walk over to a servant.

“Excuse me, but could you tell me how to get to the middle class area of Canterlot?” I ask her.

“Just leave the castle, and head down the road. You’ll hit it without much difficulty.” She tells me.

“Thank you.” I say with a kind smile. She just nods, and walks on. I start on my way out of the castle. I got a few looks from the guards, and servants, but I paid them no mind. They’d get used to me as I plan on being here for a long time.

I exited the castle and the grounds rather quickly before I started on my way down the main road. I got stared at by every single pony as I walked down the road. I was looking through the crowds with a keen eye for the suspected stallion, but didn’t see him yet.

As I was looking I bumped into a pony, and stumbled a bit. I look at who I ran into, and see that it is the stallion I was looking for. He looked up to me in curiosity for a few seconds.

“Sir, I’m going to have to ask you to come with me.” I say to him.

“Why? I don’t know who, or what for that matter you are.” He tells me. I sigh, and pick him up and throw him over my shoulders.

“You’re being arrested for suspected child abuse by the orders of Princess Celestia.” I tell him as he starts to struggle to get loose. His wings extended, and I jump and land rather hard, making him lose his breathe.

“Please, continue to struggle if you want to pass out.” I tell him as I start walking back to the castle.

“Halt!” I hear a guard says. I stop walking and turn to the guard as I pull out the medallion that Celestia gave me.

“Yes?” I ask him as I show him the medallion.

“Never mind, would you like an escort?” he ask.

“Sure.” I tell him. He waves his fellow guard over, and they flank me as I walked back to the castle.

“So, who told you?” The stallion asks me.

“No one did.” I tell him.

“I bet it was the whorse of a mare that had my kid.” He says with a jaunty tone.

“You guys got something to shut him up?” I ask the guards following me.

In an answer a muzzle was put on the stallion’s mouth. I chuckle at the irony. The stallion over my shoulder just growls in my ear.

“Oh be quiet you. If you weren’t a dumb ass and hurt your daughter then you wouldn’t be getting carried like a fresh kill to the castle.” I say as I show him my canines. His eyes widen, and he starts to thrash. One of his hooves hits me on the side of my head, and I drop him before planting a boot on his back to keep him there. I held my head where he had kicked it, and feel blood there. I growl at him.

“Wrong move.” I tell him as I hold my hand out to one of the guards.

“Got any rope?” I ask him. A small bundle was put in it. The first thing I did was tie his wings down, and then pulled them slightly tighter than necessary, and then hog tied his legs together with a weave around his upper legs. I then tie a harness around him like I would a dog, and carry him over my back as I held into my head with my other hand.

I stated walking again. I was glad that the castle wasn’t very far because this Pegasus wasn’t very light. I walked straight through the gates, and into the castle without much problem.

I walked into the court room where Celestia was. In all the time it took me to find, arrest, and bring back the stallion was only about thirty minutes, so the mare was still there, although not sobbing anymore, as well as Delta. I walked up and dropped the stallion in front of the stair before I removed his muzzle. I stood up, and look to Celestia.

“Remove the rest as well. There is nothing he can do now.” Celestia tells me. I pull out my sword, and cut the rope off of him, well except for his wing bindings, and then sat down on the stairs again breathing slightly heavy.

“What’s wrong Frost? Was he a little too heavy for you?” Delta asks with a smirk.

“Fuck off…” I tell him. He laughs at me, and I lay back against the stairs.

“So my little pony, how do you plea?” Celestia asks. It was then that I noticed that the six old ponies were back in the court room.

“Is there a reason why you’re asking me this?” The stallion asks with a growl. I pull out my revolver, and shoot it just below his hoof.

“Show some respect idiot. If it were up to me you will be dead tonight, but that’s not my place.” I tell him with a glare. He was now shaking as he looked at the damage my revolver did to the floor as there was now a big chunk missing in the stone floor.

“Dark, please never do that again.” Celestia tells me with a stern tone, “That is very expensive stone.” I nod, but smile on the inside as she didn’t scold me for shooting at the stallion. Delta just face palms. I holster my revolver.

“Please answer the question.” Celestia tells the stallion.

“Guilty.” He says with a slight growl in his voice. I narrow my eyes, and lay my hand on my sword hilt. He sees this, and swallows in fear.

“Jury, what will his punishment be?” Celestia asks.

“He will be given restraining orders from the mother and child. He will also pay a fine of one hundred bits to the family that he so harmed.” The jury spokes pony says with a bored voice.

“Bullshit!” I say as I look to Celestia.

“The same crime would have been him being put in jail for at least ten years with no chance of early parole. He would also have to pay child support to the mother for the rest of the kid’s childhood.” I tell Celestia.

“I can’t give him any more than this because he pleaded guilty.” Celestia tells me. I growl for a few moments before turning to the stallion, and walk right up to him.

“If I so much as hear from the mother or child that you even so much as entered their home I will personally hunt you down, and tear off your wings. Are we clear?” I ask him.

“You can’t touch me.” He says in a calm tone. My anger was now almost over my control. And then I smiled as I turned to Celestia with an idea.

“Celestia, is there a way I can duel him for a harsher judgment?” I ask. She blinks a few times in surprise.

“Yes, but you could only use your sword.” She tells me. My smile grew grim.

“The I challenge him to a duel.” I say as I draw my sword, and point it at him.

“If I win you will take my punishment of ten years in prison, and child support bills for the rest of the kid’s childhood.” I say with a smirk, knowing he couldn’t beat me.

“Fine, but if I win I walk scot free, and you can’t even so much as touch me.” He says with a curt nod. I smile even more showing my teeth.

“When and where?” I ask.

“Here and now.” He answers.

“Hold it you two.” Celestia says. I hold my sword down, and turn to her. Her horn lights up, and a barrier is put up around us in a ten foot circle. The Pegasus was given a sword, and then she nods.

“Begin.” Celestia says. The stallion charges me, and I smile as I parry, and slice him along his entire left side. I then get ready again, and the stallion charges at me again.

I parry, and cut him along his right side.

“Give up your out skilled, and out matched.” I tell him. He growls around the sword in his mouth. I sigh as I dart forward, and swing at him. His sword manages to block mine, but I pull back my left hand, and punch him square in the face. I pull back my hand that now has a slight sting on it, and then back away.

He had dropped the sword, and I was standing there.

“Give up.” I tell him.

“No.” He tells me as he charges without the sword. I drop my sword, and bring my foot up, Spartan kicking him in the chest. He flies back, and hits the shield with an audible slam. He is unconscious, and the shield drops.

“I warned you.” I say before I hear a drip. It took a few seconds before I remembered that he had kicked me in town, and I bring my hand up to my head again to slow the blood loss.

It was too late as I hadn’t been caring for too long, and I pass out from blood loss.

“Ugh, I have to stop waking up like this.” I growl as I come to in my hospital bed.

“Well, where would the fun in that be?” Delta asks from the chair he was sitting in. I just groan as I bring my hand up to my head to feel stiches on my right temple.

“How many stiches did it take?” I ask as I move so I was sitting up.

“Ten, so when did he hit you, as far as I could tell he didn’t even scratch you?” Delta asks.

“It was when I was carrying him here. I had him over my shoulder, and he flailed his hooves, and caught me on the side of my head. That is why I tied his ass up.” I reply with a snort of air.

“Well, either way you won and he is in the Canterlot jailhouse.” Delta says with a shrug.

“And the kid?” I ask.

“Here in the medical wing, and is actually in the room next door if you want to visit her.” Delta says with a smile, as he
knows I have a soft spot for kids.

“I would like that.” I say as I slowly get out of the bed. I was slightly unsteady on my feet so I reached out, and held onto the bed frame while I tried to recover my balance.

“Okay, I’m good. I’ll be back in a few.” I say as I slowly made my way to the door. I open it, and look down the hall. I was at the end of the hall, and so I went to the door of the next room, and knock.

After a few second the mother of the child opens the door, and sees me before smiling, and stepping aside to let me in. I do so, and sit in one of the visiting chairs.

I look over the filly in the bed, and see that she has a blue coat like her father, but had a silver mane, and tail. Her eyes were a ruby red. Her wings were bandaged to her sides with medical gauze.

“Who are you mister?” The filly asks.

“I’m the one who arrested your father.” I say with a soft smile. She gives me a big smile, and then looks sad.

“Something wrong little one?” I ask. She couldn’t have been more than five or six years old.

“I’m happy that Daddy can’t hurt me anymore, but sad that I can’t see him. Mommy says I shouldn’t see him because he is a bad pony.” The filly answers. I sigh, and my smile falters.

“I could take you to visit him, but I also think it is a bad idea. He isn’t a bad pony; he just made a bad decision by hurting you.” I reply with a nod. The mother sighs in relief at my words.

“Yeah, but he is still my daddy. I still love him, but I won’t forgive him for hurting me.” The filly counters. I sigh, and give up on the topic.

“So how long are you to be here?” I ask.

“The doctor said I should stay here for a few days before I can go home.” The filly answer.

“Well, that means I can get to know you better.” I say with a smile. She smiles back at me.

“What is your name mister?” The filly asks me.

“My name is Dark Frost.” I tell her, “and what is your name?”

“I’m Silver Rain.” She replies with a big happy smile. I chuckle, and look to the mother.

“You have a cute daughter miss?”

“Sharp Precision.” She tells me. I notice that her cutie mark is that of a forge. I nod to her.

“Well, miss Sharp. You have a bright child.” I tell her

“Thank you, but she would have been worse if it wasn’t for you. Thank you for keeping my daughter safe.” She says with a grateful smile.

“I just did my job as the Princess’s guard.” I say with a nod.

“Mister Frost, can I ask you something?” Silver asks.

“Sure.” I answer.

“What are you?” She asks with a tilt of her head, and I almost died from a cuteness overload.

“I’m a human little one, as are my five friends.” I answer her.

“I’ve never heard of a human before.” Silver says with another tilt of her head. I close my eyes with a smile so I didn’t
have to kill myself from the filly’s cuteness.

“That’s because me and my friends are the only humans in Equestria.” I say as I open my eyes.

“Are you lonely then?” Silver asks. This makes me pause for a moment.

“No, well that depends. I still have my friends to be with, but we all just got here so we don’t know anyone but the Princesses.” I answer. I start to get a slight headache, but I just ignore the pain for it was only minor.

“Would you like to be my friend?” She asks with big puppy dog eyes. I think I felt my heart stop at that moment from her cuteness.

“I would love to be your friend.” I say with a big caring smile. My headache gets slightly worse. I decide it is time to return to my room.

“I think it is time for me to go back to my room, but I’ll see you later okay?” I ask. She smiles, and nods.

“It has been a pleasure talking.” I say as I exit the room, and head back into my own before falling onto the bed as my headache evolves into a migraine.

“Delta, where are the painkillers?” I ask with a groan.

“Here” He says as he hands me an aspirin from my pack. I just swallow it dry, and wait for the effects to take hold.

Sure enough after a few minutes of pain it starts to fade away.

“I think I’m going to sleep for a bit.” I say with a yawn to prove my point.

“Alright, do you want me to wake you when it’s twilight outside?” Delta asks.

“Yeah, I still have to see Princess Luna.” I say as I move my body into a comfortable position.

“Sleep well Frost.” Delta says before I let sleep take me away from reality.

I was woken by a shake on my shoulder. My eyes open, and I see Delta there standing over me.

“Time to get up.” he tells me. I just nod, and sit up. I see that Celestia was there.

“Hello Celestia.” I say with a nod.

“Good evening Dark, I came to check on you since you collapsed in my court room.” She replies with a slightly worried expression. I smile at this.

“I’m much better now that I’m not bleeding from my head.” I say with a chuckle.

“I wasn’t sure you would make it with how much you were bleeding.” She says with a shudder along her body.

“Head wounds bleed a lot because there is so much blood being pumped up there.” I tell her. She nods a few times at this.

“I’m also here to tell you that my student and her friends will be here to see you tomorrow.” She says with a smile.

“Ah your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle I presume.” I say with a smile of my own.

“Yes, how did you know her name?” Celestia asks.

“I saw her a few times in my dreams about this world.” I say with a wave of my hand.

“Right, I forgot about that.” She says with a slight frown, “However, I am getting tired so I’m going to leave you for the night. I will see you in the morning.” Celestia says as she turns to leave.

“Sleep well Celestia.” I say as she exits my room. I wait a few seconds before looking at Delta.

“Okay, so the king and queen don’t want the ponies to know that there world is a cartoon in ours. They said to say we had lucid dreams about this world, and only on important subjects, like knowing what we need to know about this world. We don’t need them to freak out about anything from our world. I would like it if you told this to the others as well so we don’t have any problems.” I tell him.

“Yeah, I can do that before I go to bed, but you know Night Terror is going to stay up as well.” He replies. I just smirk.

“I know. The fool doesn’t know how to sleep when we’re not on a mission.” This earned a chuckle out of us both as we all know Night usually never slept, but somehow always had the energy like he did. He doesn’t really sleep when he does either. He told me he just closes his eyes, and rests. Even he doesn’t know why he doesn’t sleep.

“Alright, I guess I’ll go tell the others, but what are you going to do?” He asks me.

“I’m going to wait here for a few more minutes before I go to see Luna.” I tell him. He just shrugs before leaving. I waited a few seconds before I got out of bed, and went into the bathroom. I took care of my business before I returned to my bed as I sat on it.

It was a few minutes of me just sitting there before I got up, and went to the closet. I take my sword and revolver out of it, and strap their respected sheathes onto my person. My sword was on my left hip, and my revolver was on my right.

After that was done I exit my room, and start to the exit of the medical wing of the castle.

I was almost out of the wing when Princess Luna walks up to me.

“We see thou are awake, and well.” She tells me.

“Yes, though I would like to know what happens with the child from today.” I reply with a bow of my head. She raises an eyebrow at me.

“Does thy species not have royalty?” She asks me. I blink a few times.

“There is only one person left that is royalty in our world, and she is very old for human standards. I wouldn’t be surprised if she died anytime soon, but she is not of my concern anymore. If you’re wondering why I didn’t bow to you is because I think it is wrong to worship someone because of what they are, or what they do. You have my respect; I just will not bow to you or your sister.” I tell her. She smiles at this.

“Thy behavior is a nice change from the nobles of Canterlot. We enjoy it.” She tells me.

“I’m glad you do, now, I believe one of my friends would like to see you as he doesn’t sleep, and I think it would be best to rendezvous with him.” I reply with a smile of my own.

“Lead the way and we shall follow.” She tells me. I nod before turning, and walking to Night’s room. Luna followed by my side, though not as close as Celestia did. This gave me a little notice about Celestia, but I filed it away for later.

It was a few minutes of walking before we came to a stop in front of Night Terror’s door. Luna stops as well before she looks to me.

I smile a little before I open the door for her. She nods before walking into the room. I followed right after her. I sigh in amusement as we stop inside of the dark room.

“Night, smile for the Princess, so we know you’re in here.” I say. I hear Night chuckle before a grin of white teeth appear in the darkness of the room. I roll my eyes as Night turns on a lamp that was next to his bed.

I smirk as Luna gasps when she sees Night for the first time.

“Thou art dark skinned. Does this mean thou are nocturnal like us?” Luna asks Night. Night smiles again.

“No Luna, but I don’t sleep, ever, so I guess I could be in a sense.” Night replies with a chuckle. I chuckle along with him as he stands up from his bed.

“However, I believe it is time to get out of the medical wing as I have been here all day, and all the while you were waking up Dark.” Night tells me as he heads to his closet, and pulls out his pistol, and LMG before putting them on his person. I chuckle as I watch him put his LMG on his back with the strap and holster his usp.45 on his right side. He rolls his eyes at me.

“Shall we go Luna?” Night asks with a light and short bow.

“Thou didn’t use my title.” Luna points out.

“I don’t see a reason why I should as you are a pony like every other pony in your kingdom.” He tells her. This got Luna to blush before she exits the room, and starts walking down the hall with us following her.

“Did I do something wrong?” Night whispers to me.

“No, thou did not do anything wrong, we were just unprepared is all.” Luna replies for me. This got Night to drop his jaw, and I smirk at him.

“Come on you two; let’s get along in a more friendly fashion.” I sarcastically tell them. This got Night to chuckle, and Luna to giggle a little.

It wasn’t long, with Night and Luna sharing small talk, when we entered the throne room. It was redecorated for the night court, and I was looking over it all with mild entertainment before I sat down on the stairs as I did with Celestia on the throne.

“What art thou doing sitting on mine throne stairs?” Luna asks me. I look up to her to read her expression, and saw mild amusement in her eyes while her face said slight anger.

“I am sitting where I sat earlier today, and if you have a problem with it please tell me so I can fix it.” I tell her with a smirk. She smiles back at me before she looks out at the throne room.

“We have no problem with this, we are still learning about thou, and thine friends. So may we ask thee some questions as to get accustomed to thee?” She asks with an innocent smile.

“Ask away, and we’ll answer to the best of our knowledge.” I answer.

“What art thou?” She asks. Night chuckles along with me.

“We’re all humans.” I tell her.

“And what are humans in general?” She asks with a smirk. I look to Night with a raised brow.

“Do you want the scientific answer or normal answer?” I ask her. She tilts her head to the side slightly.

“Both, but normal first.” She replies.

“Well, in general humans are assholes that are power hungry and greedy. The human race is constantly plagued with war, and suffering as none of us can figure out how to live in harmony for longer than a week now. Individually we are a calm peaceful species, but once you get immense numbers of us in one area we tend to have conflict with each other over trivial matters.” I tell her the normal answer.

“Scientifically we are the evolutionary peak of the primate family. Our bodies are made up of mostly two atoms: Carbon and H2O. We have a lifespan of around seventy years, and we are a technologically advanced race as we don’t have magic to use unless you are a special case like Dark here. He has the ability to have control over water and ice. He would have to explain about his ability as I just call it his darkness, and so do the others for it turns water and ice into a black solid or liquid that has many effects including fast healing, intoxication similar to that of alcohol without the negative side effects, and a few others that I can’t think of right now.” Night tells Luna with a studious accent that was slightly funny to me as I silently chuckled at it.

“We are curious to this darkness Night Terror spoke of.” Luna tells me with a calculating gaze.

“I was born in sub-zero temperatures when magic from another human was at play. It is just a strange energy that I have. If you are worried about me turning evil then don’t for it is my own energy with my own control over it.” I inform her of my power.

“May we see a demonstration of your powers?” She asks me. I nod at this.

“Sure, I just need some water to use my ability on.” I tell her.

“Fair servant, please fetch me a decanter of water.” Luna tells a nearby servant. Said servant bows and swiftly, yet silently exits the throne room.

“While we wait for her to return please tell me about yourselves so that we may better our acquaintance.” Luna says as she lies down on the throne in a relaxed manner.

“Well what would the princess of the night like to know?” I ask her. She smirks at my small joke.

“I would like to know about your military training, and what these items do that you carry with you.” She replies with a small smile playing on her lips.

“Well Luna, all six of us were part of the navy for our country that we used to protect. So we have advanced military training, and the items we carry with us are our weapons.” Night tells her. She raises an eyebrow, but is kept from speaking as the servant returns with the water Luna requested.

Luna magics a small table into the room for me to set the decanter on, and I do so with a small smile. I then take my right index finger, and barely touch the water’s surface, and it quickly turns pure black. Luna gasps slightly at the sudden change.

“You weren’t lying when you said darkness were you?” She asks as she stands from her laying position and walks up to the decanter. She pours herself a glass, but I move the water back into the decanter with a slow waving motion of my left hand.

“I wouldn’t drink this while you are doing work.” I warn her. She tilts her head slightly and raises an eyebrow at me.

“This is hardly work, as not a single pony has come to me since I returned from my… absence.” She tells me, “we are often just sitting in here until two in the morning before we go to get some sleep for a couple hours then wake up, lower the moon, eat, then go back to bed.”

Night scowls at these words from Luna.

“Have you attended any public events recently? That would show your subjects that you are kind and caring instead of your other side’s violent, and harmful ways.” Night suggests.

“Nay fair Night, for we have not had a festival or gathering at the night hours for over a thousand years.” Luna replies with a wave of her hoof.

“What about the upcoming event in a week?” I ask her.

“Why would we go to a Nightmare Night festival?” Luna asks in return.

“Well, it is a good opportunity to see your ponies in a friendly environment, and it gives you a chance to rekindle your connection to your country, as well as rebuild a positive renown with your ponies.” Night tells her. Luna brings a hoof up to her chin in thought for a few moments before nodding.

“We see thine point, but would like you both to join us in case our plan doesn’t work as planned.” Luna replies. Night smiles wide, and nods in agreement.

“I don’t see why not, so sure, I’ll tag along.” I tell her before we all broke into idle chatter about topics from both worlds, and about ourselves.

We did this for the rest of the night, and once Luna left to lower the moon I went to a room provided to me by Celestia, and fell asleep to ready myself for the get together with the elements.
