IT BEGINS
"I told you a million times already Bon, it's gonna be worth it!" Lyra smiled wide as she trotted through the busy main street of Canterlot, a reluctant Bon Bon following behind her. “It’s in this big library, I know it!”
“If you insist, Lyra...” Bon Bon grumbled and rolled her eyes, somewhat annoyed with Lyra’s usual antics, but at least finding some joy in the fact that she was getting to see Canterlot for once. She continued to follow Lyra through the streets, eventually coming up to a large and old-looking building; the two large statues of books at the front door making it quite obvious what the building’s purpose was.
Upon entry, the two mares were greeted with the sight of books, as far as they could see. With shelves upon shelves upon shelves containing thousands of books, this building had to be the most expansive library in Equestria. The specific book that Lyra was searching for was bound to be somewhere within.
With a bit of a frown, Lyra gulped, glancing around at the seemingly endless rows of books. “Oh...this place isn’t as small as I remember.” she glanced over at Bon Bon, smiling nervously. “I think we might be here a while!”
“Ugh...” Bon Bon groaned as she face-hoofed and shook her head a bit. "Well...we didn't come all the way up here for nothing, I suppose. Let's get started." she replied, before she slowly walked towards the desk in the middle of the room, glancing over the large book on top of it, labeled 'LIBRARY GUIDE'.
"Hmm...what's in here?" Bon Bon thought out loud as she flipped open the book, blinking a bit as it only seemed to have two pages. The inside of the book was merely two large pieces of wood, carved along the sides to look like paper. On the two 'pages' was a long list of sections for the library; Lyra curiously approaching the book as well and skimming over list until she spotted an entry, 'Magical Textbooks'.
"Ah, that's the section we need!" she smiled excitedly again before looking up at the signs on the ends of the bookshelves. "C'mon, this way!" she immediately took off down the long hallway, following the signs towards the section she was looking for, Bon Bon following closely behind her. Arriving at the correct bookshelf, Lyra looked up and down at the two shelves on either side of her, packed with large spellbooks. "Well, at least this narrows down our search a bit!" she giggled, smiling back at Bon Bon.
"I suppose...let's get this over with." Bon Bon replied before she started down the aisle, looking at the spines of the books. "What exactly are we looking for, anyways? You never told me."
Lyra rubbed her chin gently as she glanced over the wall of books as well. “It should be titled 'Everything you ever needed to know about Transformation spells'...odd, I know, but it's the book I'm looking for!" she giggled softly again, walking slowly down the aisle and looking over the title of each book. "Man, this place has so many spellbooks...wonder what else I could find in here."
About halfway down the aisle, Bon Bon stopped once she noticed a book title that was longer than the others, squinting and leaning her head in closer and seeing that it was the very book Lyra was searching for. "Here it is, Lyra." she called out, reaching a hoof up to pull it out from the shelf, but Lyra's magic aura had already surrounded the book and pulled it out.
"Ahh, finally!" Lyra smiled wide and giggled excitedly as the book levitated over to her and flipped open, the unicorn eagerly glancing over the pages, flipping them rapidly as she looked for a specific page. "All my research has finally paid off! Well, I hope!" she poked her tongue out a bit towards Bon Bon before looking down again, stopping about halfway through the book.
"Right...can I go now, Lyra? I want to see the rest of Canterlot." Bon Bon sighed softly, quite bored with the whole situation by now; seeming to be more of Lyra's usual 'human' antics.
Lyra smirked a bit in response though, her horn starting to glow with magic again. "Heh, you'll be able to see ALL of Canterlot with this spell, Bons!" she winked to the earth mare, before looking back down at the book again, reading the spell on the page it was opened to. "Let's see if it works, then..." she thought out loud as her horn began to glow brighter with magic, a second magical aura starting to surround her body.
"Huh...? What do you mean 'see all of Canterlot at once'? That doesn't..." Bon Bon raised one eyebrow, stopping her question as she noticed Lyra's body starting to change at a rapid pace. "What are you doing, Lyra?"
The unicorn groaned softly, feeling her body changing inside and out as the magic quickly took effect; her torso growing longer while her front legs slimmed down, their shape changing to resemble that of a primate's, with elbows, wrists, and most importantly, hands and fingers! Bon Bon gulped softly, backing up a couple steps as the unicorn's magic continued, blinking her eyes a couple times in disbelief. "Lyra! What is this? What's happening to your body?" she only became more concerned the more Lyra's body changed; her gaze shifting down to see that the unicorn's back hooves had changed as well, looking slightly similar to her hands, but longer and flatter, with shorter digits.

"Ahh...did it work?" she opened her eyes again, now looking down at Bon Bon from her new height. “I think...?” The other mare’s eyes widened to the sight before her; a tall, bipedal creature with a body unlike anything she’d seen before, though still retaining recognizable features of a pony. “Lyra, is that you? What did that spell do to your body?”
