CJ wakes up to find himself taken away from his family and forced to choose his side. It is up to him to use his power to either help bring them together, or take control himself. (Third story of the series)
CJ is knocked out and dragged from his home where he is forced to make a decision he does not want to make. With his new found strength, he is about to realize just how important his decision really is, and if he makes the right choice.
"Come on! Just a little further!" Yelled my brother as I followed him up a hill. "We just have to get on the other side of this hill!" He yelled as he continued to climb the grassy hill.
"Why?! Whats up there?" I yelled to him as I tried to keep up.
"You'll see! Look we are almost there! I can see the tree at the top-"

My eyes shoot wide open and I sit up in in a hurry. I look around for a few moments breathing quickly and sweating. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath.
"Calm down... it's in the past. You can't go back now, you have a family now... yo-" I cut myself off by gasping. "Shy! Scoots!" I yell as I jump off the bed I was on.
I land on the marble floor and take a look at my surroundings. All of the decor was really strange, and from what I could see, this person really favored blue. I took at look at the bed I was on. It was all messy but I could make out a symbol on the covers. I straightened out the covers that were folded over from when I jumped out to get a better look.
On the covers was a crescent moon, half hidden behind a patch of clouds with many starts about the blanket. Before I had a moment to think about it, I heard a sound. I quickly spun around and saw the door had been opened. A pony was standing there Levitating a plate of sorts and staring straight at me.
I lowered my hands and looked at the unicorn. "What did you do? Where did you bring me?" I asked her.
She just stood there.
"Tell me!" I yelled out causing her to flinch. "I don't know... I am just here to deliver...." She said slowly dropping the plate on the ground and backing up towards the door. I watched her as she closed the door. I could hear the sound of her running down the hallway.
I turned my attention to the plate that was still lying on the ground. I walked over to it and crouched down, examining the plate.
Food, it was just food. Carrots, corn, apples, that kind of stuff. I slowly picked up the food and brought it to the bed. I sat down and picked up a piece of apple. I took a bite out of it, and to my surprise, nothing happened.
"Maybe my luck's beginning to change." I said to myself as I began eating.
I felt like I hadn't eaten anything in weeks, so I cleaned the plate in a matter of two minutes. After I finished eating I set the plate to the side and stood up.
"Well, looks like I will have to figure out whats going on here myself." I said as I began walking towards the door.
I turned the handle to find it unlocked, and I smiled a bit as I opened the door. I peeked my head out and looked both ways, which both led down an empty corridor. I took a step out and looked down the hall.
'I heard her running left, so I guess that's where I need to go.' I thought as I began walking.
I cut off my thinking when I began to hear the echoing of other voices down the hallway.
'Here is my chance to figure out what the hell is going on here...' I thought to myself as I neared a door at the end of the hall.
I put my hand on the doorknob and took in a breath as I turned the handle. All sound on the other side of the door stopped. I pushed the door open and went inside, meeting a few familiar faces...
AND ITS BACK! After a LONG FUCKING TIME it's finally back! And it's back with a vengeance! So I hope you all sit back and FUCKING ENJOY IT! Because I want you all to know that I kicked myself in the ass REALLY hard for making you all wait so long. But not anymore! THIS STORY SHALL LIIIIIIIVE!
Chapter 2: Sunbutt and Friends
"Shy! Scoots!" I yelled out as I immediately noticed them out of the crowd.
Turning around they both noticed me and smiled widely, running towards me. Upon reaching me Scootaloo jumped up and hugged me around my midsection while Shy hovered by my side and planted a small kiss on my cheek.
"Your awake!" Yelled out Scootaloo as she hugged tighter.
"Welcome back." Replied Shy softly.
"Good to be back in the realm of the living! Anyway... what the hell happened? One moment we were in the house the next.... we were here?" I asked as I noticed the silence around the room.
"CJ..." A motherly voice began as I looked up to see Celestia making her way from the throne to me, "That night was about a week ago. During the night someone had cast a spell upon you all and put you to sleep. They were dragging you out of the house until they were stopped by Hecarim who was coming back to check if you locked the door." She said but paused momentarily.
"What? Who was it?" I asked her with worry.
"We do not know. But Hecarim managed to stop the infiltrator and get Scootaloo and Fluttershy but..." She stopped.
"But... what?" I asked feeling dread creep up into the back of my mind.
"But before he could retrieve you the pony got back up and used a teleportation spell and brought you with her. A day later you show up unconscious in the middle of Canterlot. I have to ask, do you remember anything at all?" Celestia asked with a slight tinge of hope.
"I'm afraid I don't... but..." I hesitated as I remembered the strange aura that encased my hands moments ago.
"What is it?"
"It's nothing, never mind. Anyway where is Hecarim?" I asked wanting to give my old friend thanks.
Right after mentioning it everypony started looking everywhere but me. After a few moments of avoided eye contact I cleared my throat.
"Hey! I asked where he is?" I spoke out a bit annoyed.
"CJ... you see..." Celestia began but was interrupted by Fluttershy.
"He's gone..." She said shyly as she looked at the ground.
"Gone? What do u mean GONE? How can he be gone?" I reply with a tinge of anger.
Walking forward until she was a few steps away, Celestia lowered her gaze to meet mine. "When he brought Fluttershy and Scootaloo to safety and told us of what happened he said he was leaving and not coming back until he found you. He told me to link his mind to mine if I have to contact him."
"Alright well contact him then?" I ask worried.
"I can't... the link has been severed." She said sadly.
"What the hell does that mean!?"
"I'm sorry CJ, but he's dead. We lost the connection two days before you woke up." Celestia finished.
I began to shake my head. "No. No he isn't dead. He might have just been captured or they used some magic on him or something? He can't be dead he told me what he is! He is the shadow of war!"
Slightly embarrassed, Celestia turned around and let out a sigh as she walked to her throne and sat down. "Honestly CJ? I'm not sure whats happening. My sister Luna... I don't know where she's gone. But there's no way she's turned evil again..." She finished with a thoughtful gaze.
"What do you mean you don't know?" I said annoyed.
"I just don't!" She said back, obviously upset at the loss of her sister. "But why now? When everything was starting to calm down..." She finished as she tapped the bottom of her jaw with her hoof as she sunk into deep thought.
After thinking for a few moments I finally came to a conclusion. "Shy, Scoots, you stay here and stay safe, I'm going back to the house to look for some clues as to what the hell is going on."
They were about to protest before Celestia cut in. "CJ, you won't find anything. I've had my best ponies look at every inch of that house and they found nothing."
"Yeah but they seemed to lack one thing that I have." I said with a smile.
"Oh? And whats that?" Celestia asked, intrigued.
"Human instinct!" I replied as I internally slapped myself for how bad a lie that was.
"Hm... very well, if you feel it so necessary you can leave, but I'm assigning a patrol to escort you there and back. We cannot have you go missing again." She finished with a small smile.
Nodding I turned to Scoots and Shy. "Well I guess I'll see you both in a little bit alright?" I said as I placed my hand on Shy's cheek and gave her a small peck on the lips and gave Scoots a quick hug.
As I turned and began to leave I paused for a moment and looked back to Celestia. "Oh, and Celestia? Can I speak to you for a moment in private?"
Celestia looked a bit taken back by the request but quickly recovered and made her way to me as we both went through the throne room's doors and walked down the hallway alone.
"What is it CJ?" Celestia asked as she continued to walk along side me.
"I want to know right now why you are being so protective of me. Before you treated me like any other pony and now keeping me alive is of you utmost priority. But why?"
Thinking for a second Celestia replied, "CJ, you know I would do the same for all my other ponies."
"Celestia, I know when your lying to me, yes I believe you would go very far to keep your ponies safe, but how your giving me all this extra attention, just doesn't sit right with me. Now what is it?"
Letting out a small sigh she nodded. "Alright fine, when we found you unconscious and brought you in we immediately began medical work to make sure you were okay. Everything was going fine until..." She trailed off for a moment but quickly regained her composure and continued,"When all the medical stuff was done I did a scan on you and something very strange happened."
"And what would that be?" I asked curiously.
"Well... the scan didn't work! At first I thought I maybe botched the spell and I tried again but once again nothing happened. So I tried a more powerful scanning spell which did work but what I found amazed me. It seemed your body for some reason is drawing in and absorbing magical energies, and at a fast rate too. Even the neutral energies all around us. Your body is acting almost like a conduit for magic." She finished her rant, looking to me for answers.
After hearing this I mulled it over then quickly spoke. "But what does this have to do with my protection?"
"Well... I'm not sure what would happen if you... say... died? Maybe all the energy would dissipate or maybe it would all leave in a much more... unfavorable way. Either way I want to know whats going on and why."
I nodded back and continued to walk as I saw we were now about to exit the castle. "Alright, I'll be on my way now, I'll look more into this and whats going on with the magic." I said, trying to not bring up the fact that I have Discord power, might not go over well.
Celestia nodded and turned to the guards stationed outside the entrance. "Please follow Sir Chris to his destination at Ponyville and ensure nothing happens to him." She finished as the guards gave a quick salute and stood by my side. "Listen to any and all orders given to you by him. Understood?"
"Yes ma'am." They both said in unison.
As Celestia began making her way back into the castle I called out to her as I thought maybe I should tell her about Discord's deal. "Oh and Celestia?" I asked as she stopped and looked back to me.
"Yes CJ?"
".... never mind... just keep Shy and Scoots safe alright?"
Squinting her eyes for but a second she nodded and smiled. "You have my word." She replied as she walked off into the castle.
I quickly turned and took in a deep breath. "Alright boys I have a few orders for you."
Quickly saluting they both replied. "Yes sir!"
"Order one, never call me sir. Order two, never salute me again, and order three, fuckin' relax." I stated quickly.
As I finished the orders the guards looked between themselves as they slowly dropped their hooves to the ground. One of them spoke up, "Alright... um..."
"Just call me CJ, now lets get movin'!" I finished as I made my journey back to Ponyville determined to find out the truth.
I... I think I've done it. I think I've killed my writers block! WHOOOOOOOOOOO YEAH! C'mon cheer with me! *Clears throat* anyway... uh... yeah... enjoy.
ALSO REMEMBER. THIS WAS MADE AND BASED WHEN THE SHOW HAD NOT BEEN AT SEASON 3 YET! REMEMBER THAT. But I will be working on advancing it now.
Chapter 3: Back in the Saddle
I looked out over the edge of the chariot as I watched the world go by, waiting to arrive at my Ponyville house. I glanced over at the two guardsponies currently hauling the chariot through the air as I sat there silent. I blinked and everything vanished into darkness as I heard a familiar voice.
"Ahhhh finally I can get out of here!" Spoke a voice I recognized immediately.
My eyes lit up as I looked around before Discord slowly slid out of my chest.
"Discord! Whats the meaning of this I was kinda in the middle of something!" I said aloud as he looked back at me with a smile.
"Well sooooorry! I just wanted to get out of that body of yours! It's a shame... I barely even got to use my powers..." He pouted as he quickly slapped a smile back on and bowed. "Anyways I'll be seeing you!" He yells as he turns and is about to run into the darkness.
"Hey! Now you wait a second!" I yell back making him stop and turn back. "What do you mean YOU didn't get to use them? It was ME who had them."
Sighing a bit he made up a mock look of remorse. "Oh! It seems I had slightly stretched the truth so to speak! I was actually the one doing the magic, on your cues of course... I was using you as sort of a... magical capsule. Except you chose how the energy left." He said as he smiled on. "But time's up now and I really got to go!"
Shaking my head I asked another question. "Okay well... alright you got me. That was clever... but what was the point? To just jump out at some point and go 'Ha! Got ya!' There had to have been a reason." I said as he put on a slight frown.
"Well... when you've been trapped in stone for as long as I have... you get quite giddy to release power. And when you get put back IN the prison again... well it's not fun. Like, at all. No power to use... no chance to laugh..." He said as he paused a bit and made a small whisper. "No one to talk to..."
My eyes widened as he finished. "Ohhhh. So you contacted me because you were LONELY! HA! The great and powerful GOD got lonely? Just shows everyone needs some friends someti-" I was cut off as he gave me the cold shoulder.
"That is NOT the case! I was just... getting magical buildup!" He said back.
"Is that even a thing?" I ask as he nods.
"Yes! Ask your friend Twilight!" He says smiling.
"I mean for those with ENDLESS RESERVES."
He instantly scowled and turned back around.
"Yes it does! Now... I'll be on my way." He says as he begins to fade.
"Wait!" I shout causing him to stop. "What if I end up needing your powers? Things are getting kind of crazy. No offence." I say back to him as he looks at me apprehensively.
"Well... let's just say I think you'll be fine... and watch your anger." He finishes as he fades away along with the darkness around me.
I blink a few times clearing my vision as I feel my ride getting really bumpy. I take a quick look around and see that we had arrived in Ponyville but the place looked like a murder had just happened. Every pony that walked the town had their head either drooped or had a sad look on their face.
"Sheesh... did somebody die?" I say aloud causing all of the nearby ponies to turn and look at me, making their eyes widen.
I look around at their stares when all of a sudden everyone starts cheering and runs towards me. Panic setting in I quickly look towards the two guards.
"YO WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!" I yell as one of them chuckles.
"Hey... I'm not the one who disappeared from my town and left behind a destroyed house." He said as I looked back at the running group.
"Oh..." I said aloud as a few ponies went airborne and collided with me. "Oof! Ey guard! Aren't you supposed to guard me?" I say aloud as I'm hugged out of breath by the town.
"Sorry death by hug isn't on my list." He said as he laughed with his fellow guard.
'God dammit why did I tell them to relax.'
"Alright alright, get off the human." I say as I start brushing them off.
When I finally get them off me I stand up and crack my back. "Sheesh... you know the ground hurts right?" I say aloud to all the ponies.
I recognize a few of them immediately, one of them is Vinyl, and another is Lyra. The rest I had no clue.
Vinyl walked up and gave me a small punch in the leg. "Yeah... well it won't hurt as much as what I'm gonna do to you if you do that to us again!" She said in a joking manner. "But seriously... what happened to you? The whole town thought something made off with you when they saw the state of your house!"
Scratching the back of my neck I looked over at all the ponies smiling at me.
'They all really cared that much about me? I don't even know all of them!' I thought as I continued to scan the crowd.
"But hey I was just thinkin'! We should totally do a show tonight! You know... cheer the town up a bit! With what's been going on lately... I feel they would appreciate it y'know?" Vinyl said as the other ponies started getting a bit giddy.
"Well..." I began as I watched all the ponies raise their heads a bit in anticipation.
"I'm kinda here on business..." I continued as many of them started giving me THAT look.
'Aw what the fuck...'
"Yeah let's do it..." I said with a small smile as they all started cheering.
I caught a random shout from the ever growing crowd. "YEEAAAAH! WE HAVE DJ D1sASt3r back!"
I looked around and smiled at their reaction, but then immediately I felt myself frown. "Hey uh... have any of you seen Trixie around? I haven't seen her in a while."
Vinyl nodded while not dropping her smile. "Yeah, she left town a few days ago, saying something about finally feeling 'Ready' or something." She said as I nodded back.
"Well alright then! Well I'll meet up with you... where back at the old club?" I asked getting her to nod. "Alright, I'll be there when I'm ready." I nod as she smiles and turns back to the crowd.
"Alright listen up everypony! Go tell the rest of the town what's gonna happen tonight! We're gonna make this one count!" She ordered out as the crowd started dispersing.
I began to make my way along the path to my house as I was followed by the two guards. After a few minutes of walking my house comes into view where I immediately frown. I notice a few things, one the outside of the house looks like a war-zone, and two, the door is blown off the hinges.
'Holy shit Hec... must have been one hell of a fight'
I noticed a burn on the ground ahead of me on the patch, and no matter what I tried I couldn't take my eyes off it.
'Touch it...'
I walked up to the scorch mark and reach out to touch it, I had to touch it.
'Closer...'
I felt like I was being pulled in by a rope... I had to feel it... I had t-
"Hey? You alright?" Spoke a voice from beside me.
A cold urge quickly receded from my arm and towards my chest from the sudden words as I didn't feel drawn to the mark anymore.
"What is it? Did you figure out anything?" The same pony asks as I look around the rest of the yard.
Still feeling the slight cold spot in center of my chest I answered back.
I spent the next few hours looking around the house coming to the conclusion that there was, indeed, nothing else to find. No trace of what had happened aside from the fight outside, and no hints as to where they may have gone. Either way coming here gave me a chance to go get my equipment from my DJ room and start moving it outside. Vinyl must have had the same idea because when I emerged from the house dragging along my DJ board (With the help of the two Pegasai) I saw her standing there with the large carriage I had arrived in.
"Forget something? How did you expect to bring that thing all across Ponyville?" She asked with a small snicker as she slid her shades on which, to no surprise, she had not been wearing all day.
"I'll never understand how ponies can't tell it's you without those glasses on... but when they see me WOW they go wild!" I said with fake enthusiasm.
Shaking her head a bit, whipping her main around she chuckled and answered. "I don't know how you've survived this long. I can't wait for this show..." She said as she wiggled her eyebrows.
"Whats that mean... what do you mean?!" I say as she shrugs and turns around, lifting the board into the carriage.
"Oh... nothing. Just... you've become the talk of the town ever since you became a DJ. More so to others than the rest..." She said slowly turning to me. "The MARES specifically..."
I felt the blood drain from my face as she said this. "...what..."
"OH?! You didn't know?! Well... APPARENTLY a MALE DJ showing up hasn't happened for... oh well a long time..." She said as she glanced towards me. "A VERY long time... has nopony told you this?"
My eyes widened as it all made sense. The cheering, the constant attachment. I was apparently the first male music artist in the town for a long time. AND I was the first human... so I was a different everything. And from what I've figured out since being here... the town began to LOVE different.
The rest of the time I spent inside the empty club was spent extremely nervously as I looked around, always aware of any ponies walking near me.
"Sheesh... I was just messin' with ya. I wasn't THAT serious it's all cool. You got nothin' to worry about." Said Vinyl from next to me as she began plugging in some cords to the table.
I let out a small breath. "Yeah... just things haven't been easy lately and everything is putting me on edge. I'll be fine." I said as I plugged in a pair of headphones and put them on, testing their connection as I pressed a random button.
I let out a small sigh that Vinyl caught and slowly pulled off her glasses.
"What's on your mind?" She said as she stared back at me.
Shaking my head I met her eyes. "You know I got engaged to Fluttershy... right?" I asked as she nodded. "Well... I wanted to get the... you know... wedding going. But so much has been happening lately. We have no time to relax and get to planning. I feel like we'll never-"
Cutting me off she covered my mouth with her hoof. "Ew details man details." She said causing me to blush.
"THAT'S NOT WHAT I WAS GONNA-" Waving me off she continued.
"Yeah I know I'm just messin' with ya. Anyway... I'm sure everything will turn out fine soon enough. As soon as this whole thing between the Princesses die down you'll get your chance. I'll even get my friend Tavi to play at your wedding." She said smiling.
Looking back I pulled her into a quick hug. "Thanks Vinyl. Anyway... let's get to work. I've got a song I need your vocals for. And before I forget... it is Saturday today right?" I asked getting her to nod. "Perfect..."
I sat back and watched as, what looked like the whole town, began pouring into the club. I EVEN spotted the mayor.
"Yo what... is that the mayor?!" I said aloud as I pointed down at the mayor.
We were currently in our glass room on the second floor, looking down at the dance floor. Vinyl looked down where I was pointing and her eyes visibly widened under the glasses.
"No waaaay... HAHA! We got EVERYPONY coming!" She cheered as she hopped up on two hooves and punched into the air.
I slowly nodded as I shook my head and turned to Vinyl. "Alright we have a few more minutes until startup, can you run the final tests? I'm gonna go down there and meet up with everypony." I said as she saluted.
I walked over to the door leading to the staircase and made my way down, when I reached the bottom I knocked on the lower door, getting a large looking bouncer pony to open it for me. I nodded my thanks as I walked by and inspected the dance floor. I noticed the mayor and began to make my way to her when a group of ponies stopped in front of me and looked me up and down while smiling.
"Uh... hi girls." I said with a small nervous wave.
A few of them fainted. F-A-I-N-T-E-D.
'What the... WHAT?!'
I looked at the other few as they gave a small *Squeal* And did tiny jumps in place.
'If I was single... I'd probably be loving this attention right now' I thought as I made my way to the group.
"It was nice meeting you girls but I have to talk to somepony." I said as I gently pushed two of them to the side and made my way towards the mayor.
"Oh my gosh... HE TOUCHED ME." One of them squealed out as the other yelled back.
"ME TOO!"
Shaking my head in disbeleif I just continued walking.
'I forgot how crazy this town is sometimes...' I thought as I approached the mayor and tapped her on the shoulder.
She turned quickly and nodded at me before turning back.
"Uh..." I voiced as I waited for it to click.
A few seconds later the mayors eyes went wide and she spun around, with a slight blush on her face.
"O-Oh... I'm sorry! I thought you were... somepony else..." She said looking anywhere but me.
"It's alright... but I'll be honest I never expected YOU of all ponies to come here." I said raising an eyebrow.
"Hey! I didn't come here for the music! I came here to see you. You left the town in quite a panic you know!" She said as she gave that 'You did a bad' shake of the hoof you get when you were young.
"Yeah... sorry about that it was kind of unexpected. I-" I began before getting tapped on my side.
I turned to look at the pony in question as it was the bouncer as he motioned up to the glass room. I looked up and saw Vinyl tapping a non-existent watch on her wrist. I nodded back and gave a small wave before turning to the mayor.
"I'd love to stay and chat but show's starting and I gotta be up there! I'll c'ya around!" I said as I waved as I ran.
As I reached the top of the stairs and made my way to the board, Vinyl threw me my headphones and some shades, custom made to my face with deep purple lenses. I nodded with a smile to her as I slid them on and brought myself to the mic.
"HELLO PONYVILLE! I SEE WE HAVE A VERY LARGE CROWD TODAY!" I yell into the mic eliciting cheers from the whole place. "Ready to make this Saturday one to REMEMBER?!" I continue, gaining more yells of excitement. "ALRIGHT! LET'S GO THEN!" I yell out as I begin the first track.

The fifth song tonight boomed through the club as I bobbed my head to the beats, as the song finished I looked over the crowd and watched their cheers. The place hasn't gotten any less packed. But I noticed something I hadn't seen before. A pony with a hood on was at the back... staring at me. I couldn't see her face but... I could feel her eyes on me. I felt like... I needed to talk to her. I watched as she slowly made her way out of the room as I turned to Vinyl.
"Hey Vinyl I gotta leave early, think you can take care of this stuff for me?" I ask as I set the next track on.
Nodding she smiled and saluted again. "No prob."
I ran out of the room and eagerly down the stairs. As I did so, the bouncer opened the door and helped me through the crowd of touchy feely ponies. I made it to the exit and took in a deep breath and walked out. As I did I turned to the left and looked for the pony as a sudden chill went up my spine.
