Dear Dinky

There is love everywhere. Love to your friends, love to your neighbors. But nothing is as strong as a mother's love for her foal

Dinky is dead. In an effort to speak with her, Ditzy, Sparkler, and The Doctor all write her notes, and burn them. Hoping she'll hear their words. There will be four parts. The last one being from a pony none thought existed.

Love, Ditzy

Dear Dinky,

I'm very proud of you. You were such a talented young filly. I wish I could have been there for you more often. But that's not what I wanted to say. Dinky, I love you.

I know you may hate me for what happened. I know you may hate me for everything. And I accept that. Dinky, I love you. I love you more than Celestia's sun and Luna's moon. Dinky, I hope you don't blame me, and love me the same.

Dinky, you will always be my very special muffin. Remember the time you first used magic? That was amazing. Dinky, I should have taken you to a doctor, you could have been saved. I miss you Dinky. I love you. Your sister, step-father, and I all do.

If you were to blame anypony for this, blame me. I was the one who wouldn't take you to a doctor. I was the one who forced you to do things you weren't able to. I should have been a better mother. I'm sorry,Dinky. I'm so so sorry. I love you Dinky, you're my little muffin. Dinky, I love you.

I was a horrible mother, Dinky. I let my own foal die! I didn't deserve you! You didn't deserve me! You deserved a better life, a better family. A family that could afford to send you to proper schools. A family that wasn't us. You didn't deserve us.

We all miss you. To Sparkler, a sister was lost. To The Doctor, a daughter was lost. To me, a beacon of hope has been taken from a cruel land. Dinky, I will always love you. Never think you're not good enough. You're the best Dinky. You always will be. You will always be my little muffin.

Your Loving Mother,

Ditzy Whooves

Ditzy finished her letter. She cast it into the flames without a second thought. "May the ashes whisper these words to you, my muffin." she said. She turned to her daughter, Sparkler. "Now it's your turn." she said, then trotted away.

Dear Dinky,

So, you're really dead? I didn't think you'd be the first to go. I always thought you'd be the last. You were an amazing filly, you know? Quick at learning, and great to be around. I wish I'd listened to you more often. If I'd listened to you, you'd still be here. Dinky, you can see anything right now, just, focus off us, and onto somepony else. Focus onto our father. Focus onto the man you is one of the reasons we exist. Is he happy? Sad? Angry? Does he know you're dead? Does he know you existed? I don't remember much of him, but I have so much of you to remember.

I remember an extraordinary filly. Bright as a lightbulb, and sharp as a knife. She doesn't interrupt, and is kind to everypony. Is that you? Dinky, I know it's you. I feel you right now, watching me. Watching me tell you things you need to hear. Watching me write this. You're watching over us, aren't you? Making sure we aren't hurt, or cold, or sick. You're our angel now. We love you.

The Doctor isn't talking. You two were almost to father and daughter. I'm pretty sure he blames himself, somehow. He won't come out of his Tardis, which scares us. We told him he shouldn't try to, but we're not sure if he listened. You're still gone. He realizes that this is just how things should be, which is why he hasn't done anything, yet. Dinky, tell him it'll be alright. He hates seeing Mom this way, he knows she blames herself. But it was me. It was all me, not The Doctor or Mom. Just me. I'm the reason we don't see you anymore. If I'd listened. I am the reason we all lost you. Dinky, why did you leave? What happened to, 'sisters forever'? I miss you. I love you. Do you love me?

Love,

Sparkler

Sparkler burned her letter. "May the flames be a messenger for this message, my sister. In hopes you get it." Rain fell harshly from the rainclouds. It was appropriate. Sparkler knocked on the Tardis's door.

"Go away, Sparkler." The Doctor's annoyed voice came from inside.

"I think you should burn a letter too." Sparkler said.

"Why should I?" The Doctor sounded really annoyed.

"It'll help. It'll feel like you're telling her what you wanted to."

Dear Dinky,

I know I'm not your real father, but I'm all you got. I hope you can realize that that doesn't stop me from treating you like my own. Dinky, you know you are a very special filly. Very smart, very social. We all love you, Dinky. I know you may be hoping for something along the lines of regret, but I don't have any. I'm happy I got to spend the time I did with you. But, I'm sorry. I'm sorry you had to go so early.

I'm not much of a pony for words, so bear with me. Dinky, you are a marvelous foal. I knew I was going to lose you eventually, but I never thought I'd lose you know. Dinky, you are special. Have fun. And, Dinky, I love you.

Love,

The Doc Dad[/i

Doctor Whooves threw the letter into the fire. "For Dinky." Was all he said. Meanwhile, Ditzy was busy writing another letter.
Dear Ponet,

It's been awhile, how have you been? I've settled down, and gotten married. Sparkler is happy. Dinky, though, died last week. A rare disease, we noticed too late. This is why I'm writing you this letter. I want you to honor my family tradtion, and write a letter to Dinky, telling her everything you want her to know. Then, burn it, and say something... spiritual. Well, goodbye, and have fun.

From,

Ditzy

Dear Dinky,

I know you may not remember me, but I remember you. I'm you biological father. I live in Canterlot, and I'm respected. I attend the Grand Galloping Gala every year, but that isn't important. You know, even though I haven't been there for you, (ever) I still love you.

Your mother left me when I forgot about you three, she tells me you have a new father. That's great, and I don't mind. I can't say I would have been a great father.

I can't believe your mother found anyone that wasn't me. It's crazy. Was he good to you? Was he a better father?

I don't have many things to say to you, so I hope you understand. I... miss you

From,

Da Ponet

Ponet threw the letter into the fire, saying nothing, though a tear ran from his eye.

Four letters blew through the wind, but none paid them any mind. They all were to go to family.

Ditzy Whooves was crying by the fireplace, the front door cracked open. A letter blew in, and landed next to her.
Dear Mommy,

I love you, and it's not your fault. It's nopony's. I miss you, Mommy, but the ponies here are very nice. They say I'll be happy here, but I still miss you.

Love,

Dinky

Sparkler Whooves was in her bedroom, relaxing with the window open, when a slip of paper blew in.

Dear Sparkler,

You're the best big sister ever! I miss you, love you, and it's not your fault.

Love,

Dinky

Doctor Whooves had the door to the TARDIS cracked. At first, he didn't notice the paper, until the wind brushed it against him.
Dear Doct Dad,

I love you! You are the best Daddy ever! It's not your fault, nor will it ever be. I miss you!

Love,

Dinky

Ponet had just arrived home from another big event, leaving the window open. He noticed the paper, and was about the throw it out, when something made him read it.
Dear Ponet,

Though I may not agree with your actions, I still want to make sure you're okay. I can't say that I miss you, or that I love you, but I can tell you to take care.

Lov From,

Dinky
