Going the Distance

When you love somepony, how far are you willing to go to get that special somepony back?

School has just started, and every filly in Equestria is ready for a new school year....except Morning Mist. He even hates the word, "school". That all changes once he sets his eyes on one of the mares, he can't take his eyes off of her and loves everything about her. Too bad things don't always work out in the love scene....

Life changing first day

View Online

"Oh no, I'm gunna be late! The first day and I'm gunna be late! Way to go, what an awesome first impression for the class!" I said to myself as I frantically ran toward the school house. I was rushing to get there so I wasn't too late to class. I had woken up late as usual but this time I was being just plain stupid. I could see the schoolhouse up ahead and the doors were closed. "Oh no, class has already started!" I said as I continued as fast as I could to the class. When I reached the door, there was the sound of voices on the other side. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and slowly opened the door. The constant chatter was silenced and all attention was now on me. Even the teacher was looking at me.

"Well, you must be the last missing pony to my class, I was wondering where you had gone. Go ahead and take a seat in the back." The mare had said to me. I just walked over to the back seat while still breathing hard. I saw my friend Sun Blaze and sat by him.

"So what have we done so far?" I asked him. He looked over at me and let out a yawn.

"Nothing much, just talking. The teacher said we were gunna take role soon." He replied as I looked back up to the front of the class to see the teacher looking at a clipboard. I zoned out as she called out the names of everypony in the classroom. The memories of my hatred of school started coming back as I looked around the class and listened to the teacher calling names I really didn't care about.

"Not even the first day and I already want this year to be over." I whispered to myself as I slowly dropped my head down to the surface of my desk and stared at absolutely nothing. Then, as if it was automatic, I heard a name let out by the teacher that made my ears stand up and my head fling right upward. The name was so serene, it was full of bliss when I heard it smoothly fill my ears along with the rest of the class.

"Sweetie Belle? Are you here?" The teacher had asked. I quickly scanned the room and waited for a voice to respond to the blissful name.

"Here." She replied as I saw her hoof go up. I followed the hoof down with my eyes and there she was. Something about her seemed sophisticated, yet approachable. She seemed kind, yet majestic. I took a deep breath as I continued to look at what appeared to be an angel. She made me quickly forget about all the woes of school I was having at the moment. Before I knew it, the teacher was calling my name and I shook my head rapidly to stop my eyes from gazing upon her. I looked over at the teacher and raised my hoof.

"I'm here." I said with a shaky voice. I put my hoof down to continue looking at the mare who was giving me all these mixed emotions. Sadly, I came face to face with my friend, whom happened to be sitting in the same general area as she was. He scared me and I almost fell out of my seat.

"So, which pony were you having a total head over hooves moment with? Don't think I didn't catch that. You made it too obvious." He said to me as I sat upright in my chair again. I cleared my throat and looked around the room nervously. I really didn't want to answer him but I knew he wouldn't let me be if I didn't tell him.

"It was, well the one mare sitting over there, Sweetie Belle." I replied to him as I pointed my hoof over to her. I put it down immediately so she wouldn't see me pointing at her. Blaze glanced over at where she was sitting then looked back at me with a smile on his face.

"Sweetie Belle? She really isn't anything good but, if that is what you like then ok." He replied while tapping my shoulder with his hoof.

"What? You mean to tell me you don't think she is amazing? She looks just.....perfect to me." I replied as I started another staring session. It was abruptly ended with my friends hoof in my face and made me face him.

"Don't just stare! Go and talk to her when we get out of class, but for now if you keep staring like that, you can kiss your chances with her goodbye." Blaze replied as he quickly looked toward where she was sitting, then back to me.

"Oh, I don't think I could just go up to her and talk to her. I would be far too nervous. You already know how nervous I-" our conversation abruptly ended with the teacher noticing us talking while she was.

"Morning Mist, since you love talking so much, why don't you come up here and introduce yourself to the class and say what your favorite subject is?" The teacher said to me as my eyes grew wide. I felt my face heating up as I took the walk of shame to the front of the class. I took a deep gulp as I made it to the front and I could feel myself shaking.

"My name is uh Morning Mist, and my favorite subject is uh science." I said while still shaking in the front of the class and my heart thumping. I slowly walked back to my seat. I raised my head to look back at Sweetie Belle and she was laughing at my nervousness. Seeing her laughing made a smile appear on my face and I didn't even know it until I sat down.

"Want to tell me why you are smiling bro, don't tell me you liked going up there?" Blaze asked me. I turned at him and smiled. He knew what it was right away and just laughed as he looked to the front of the class.

"Good morning students, my name is Ms. Cheerilee and welcome to another school year. Now we will begin with an easy assignment that will be due before recess." She said to the class. Nopony was really paying attention but we tried to do the worksheet anyways. I tried to focus on the work, but my eyes would eventually wander off and I would find them staring at the beautiful mare without noticing. I would eventually look back at my paper, but it wouldn't be for long. I finally just looked over at Blaze and asked him for advice.

"Well, I believe you should just go up to her after class and at least introduce yourself, you know? Get her to at least know who you are and that you want to be her friend." He replied as I listened in closely. It was making sense, I mean it wasn't like I didn't know how to talk to a mare, it's just that I was too scared to even go up to her. Never before had I felt this feeling for another pony. She was making school bearable for me.

"Ok fillies, time for a break, go ahead outside and get some water and relax for a while. We will meet again in about ten minutes." Cheerilee said as she sat at her desk. All the ponies walked outside and I was looking for Sweetie Belle.

"Hey, now is your chance. She is over getting a drink of water. Go up and talk to her!" Blaze said to me as he ran up to me and pointed over to where she was. I looked over where she was and I just took a deep breath and sighed as I gazed upon what was like an angel to me. My stare was ended when Blaze got behind me and nudged me over in her direction. I looked back at him and he smiled. I looked back at her and took a deep breath. I was slowly walking in her direction making sure she didn't know I was walking up to her. She was taking book out of her saddlebag and started flipping through the pages. As I got closer, I could feel my stomach turn and sweat starting to form on my fur. When I reached her, she looked over the book and saw me standing there awkwardly. say something stupid, don't just stand here! I was thinking. I cleared my throat and looked at her.

"Hello, I am Morning Mist. I uh noticed you are reading a book. May I ask um what book that is you are reading?" I slowly said as I tried my best to keep a smiled going. She turned the outside of the book towards her and looked for the title.

"Oh this old thing? It's just the English book for the class. I thought I'd flip through it to see what we would be learning this year or something like that." She replied with a smile. "My name is Sweetie Belle by the way." I just looked at her and smiled.

"That sounds interesting." I replied. I couldn't think of anything to say and I just smiled and looked down at her book.

"Yeah, hey Morning Mist is it? Where is your book if you don't mind me asking?" She replied as I looked back up at her. Just hearing her say my name made me want to smile stupidly.

"Well mine is at home, I didn't think we had to bring it." I said to her. She looked at the book again, then two other ponies walked up to Sweetie Belle and started talking to her. I wasn't really paying attention to what they were saying. The other two then randomly looked at me and I smiled and just felt like leaving.

"Hey Sweetie Belle, you gunna introduce us to your friend here?" One of them asked her. Sweetie Belle looked at them, then at me.

"Oh right! My bad. Morning Mist, this is Scootaloo and this is Applebloom." She said as she pointed to both of them. I waved at them both and managed to smile while I did so.

"It's nice to meet you Morning Mist." Applebloom said to me. Just as she finished saying that, the bell rang and it startled me. I jumped slightly and looked back at Sweetie Belle.

"Well, I should get back to class. I'll see you around Morning Mist." She said to me. I just stared at her and didn't realize she had said something. Quickly I snapped out of it and thought of something to say.

"Ok ill see you then. Bye Sweetie Belle, see you in class." I said as she left. I let out a sigh of relief after that and Blaze came over to see how I was doing.

"Well, how was it? Does she have a good personality?" He asked me as I watched her walk away.

"Blaze, I think I am in love!" I replied as he looked over at me in shock. I just sat down and thought of her. Just her.

Does she love me?

It had been a week since we had all been in school, but if you asked me, it felt like one long day. To my surprise, the days were going by fast, and it had to do with her. Every time I talked to her, my heartbeat would run wild and I would automatically work up a sweat like I had never before. The most I had done to this point was introduce myself and talk to her about five times in that one week. When we arrived for the next week of school I couldn't get my eyes off her. It wasn't perverted either, it was a look that was respectful and awe inspired.

"I can't stop thinking about her, she is just too amazing. What do I do?" I whispered to Blaze as I still gazed at Sweetie Belle. He turned to look at me, but found me caught in what appeared to be a trance castes by her. He grabbed my head with his hooves and faced it toward him.

"Well, how about you two have lunch today? That should grab her attention don't you think?" He suggested as I felt my eyes slowly trying to get back to my angel.

"Me..........and her.......l-lunch?" I nerviously replied to Blaze. He shook his head and I felt my stomach turn. I looked back at her to see her talking with Scootaloo. I tried to swallow my nervousness but it wasn't budging at all. I looked back at Blaze and he had this hope for me in his eyes that I could actually go up to her and still have an actually chance with getting her to say yes.

"Well, what do you think? Go up to her and ask her to sit with you during lunch, it's that easy." He said to break the silence between us both. I looked over at her again and just took a deep beath in and exhaled as my eyelids slid half way down my eyes. Suddenly I snapped back into reality.

"I can't do that! She seems to good of a filly to waste her time with a pony like me." I replied as I looked down to the floor. My friend just started laughing. What could he be laughing about? What was so funny for him? I looked up at him confusingly. He stopped laughing and put his hoof around my back.

"Here I'll walk you through it. You go up to her and just start up a conversation and after you two get to talking just ask her what she plans to do during lunch and then ask her if she wants to spend lunch with you. It's as easy as 1,2,3." He assured me as he looked over at her. I looked too and I decided that I could ask her to just hang out with me during lunch. It couldn't be that hard?

"Ok, I'll do it. It should e easy right?" I weakly replied to Blaze as I started to sweat just at the thought. Just as the teacher released us to a five minute break, I walked up to talk to her as I normally did.

"Hey Sweetie Belle. How have you been?" I said to her to spark up some sort of conversation. She looked up at me with a smile.

"Hey Morning Mist and I've been good, thanks for asking." She replied with a smile. I couldn't get over how gorgeous her smile looked as I was struggling to say something back to her.

"So um...I was wondering if you are doing anything, you know, special for lunch today?" I asked nervously. I was a wreck as those words fell off my lips. I was almost shaking. All this sensation, over a pony named Sweetie Belle. It made me question how she could make me have this cauldron of different emotions all at the same time. She looked surprised that I had asker that. She looked down for a second, then back up to me.

"Um no I don't think I am. Why do in ask?" She replied in a weak tone. My face lit up as I asker her the question.

"Well I was wondering if you wanted to hang out during lunch today? That's if it is ok with you." I said to her. The words flew out of my mouth so fast that I thought I would mess up on what I was saying. She let out a short giggle and smiled. That made me want to laugh at how cute she was being.

"Yeah, I wouldn't mind to spend lunch with you." She replied with a smile. Just as she responded, Scootaloo was calling her over for something. She turned to look at her and then back to me. "Well, I have to go. I'll see you at lunch. Bye." Sweetie Belle responded. She then came towards me and hugged me. I almost jumped back. I was filled with immense joy as she did this. I hugged her back and when we finished, I looked over at Blaze and he was smiling. Class was dragging on and lunch was taking forever to reach. It seemed like it would never arrive. Then, the bell sounded and everypony was going towards the door. I waited and walked over to Sweetie Belle's desk and there she was, still beautiful as ever. She stopped and noticed me standing near her desk. I smiled awkwardly and I could feel myself sweating. She grabbed her lunch and walked up to me as I moved out of the way and let her walk in front of me. Just as we went outside, two other ponies were waiting for her to come outside. When we got close to them, I could hear Sweetie Belle let out a sigh and roll her eyes. It was Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.

"Well, well. Look who it is. It's Sweetie Belle. Why don't you go hang out with your other friends that are freaks and have no cutie mark?" Silver Spoon said. I looked at her weirdly. She was insulting my angel. My eyes grew wide.

"Yeah, why are you even wasting your time with her Morning Mist?" Diamond Tiara asked me. I looked over at her and gave her a mean stare.

"She is a very nice pony and doesn't need low lives like you two to ruin her day so why don't you two just take a hike! Her not having a cutie mark is actually a good thing! She isn't restricted to doing just one thing. She can become good at anything she sets her mind to! I'm actually jealous of her so just back off!" I said to the, as I stood in front of her. I stared at them and waited until they left. When they did Sweetie Belle walked in front of me and smiled.

"Thank you so much for that, I have never had a pony stand up for me like that. I really appreciate that Morning Mist." She said as she gave me a hug. I smiled and looked down at her mane.

"Well I had to, they were gunna mess up this awesome day we were about to have." I replied as she looked back up to me. Her smile was so innocent and amazing, I loved it. She was making me feel like I had never felt before. It is just simply an amazing smile I could never forget. Even with all this only one question was in my head during the whole lunch we spent together. Does she love me as I do her?

Making Progress

Two months, many lunches spent together, and millions of times shared together and I felt her and I had grown closer together...much closer. I would always rush to school everyday to see her and wait anxiously for class to end so I could see her again. We would have the best of time together. Just hearing her talk was enough to cause me to be in total awe from her. Her smile and laugh? Don't even et me started on those. It was like heaven in the form of a unicorn.

"I love her so much Blaze, she just makes me feel like there isn't a worry in the world." I said as I gazed at my queen in class. She was always beautiful in my eyes. Blaze was doing something and listening to me sort of.

"Yes I heard you Mist. She is amazing, best mare in school, can't get your eyes off of her, or something lovey dovey like that. I get it!" He replied. We both looked at each other and laughed. "So when are you gunna ask her out? It better be soon." He said after our laugh. That threw me in shock.

"Y-you think she will say....y-yes?" I asked him nervously as I looked back at her. The thought of it made my body completely still. It was too perfect to even think of.

"Well, the way you keep talking about her, it seems like you both belong with each other. Don't you think that would be awesome?" He asked as I looked back at Blaze. I took a deep breath and started to sweat. Just the thought made me get very nervous.

"I would l-love that, but the question is, would she love that um idea?" I asked Blaze as I looked down at my desk. He waved his hoof to get my attention. I looked back at him and he put his hoof over my shoulder.

"Look, if she does this stuff with you and hangs out with you, then that must mean she must like you too. That is for sure. So just hang out with her during lunch sometime and ask her there. I'm sure she will say yes." He explained to me. I was still scared out of my mind. I don't even know if I could stand her saying no. That would devastate me for sure.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. I'll talk to her next time we hang out during lunch and I'll ask her there. It should be a....um yes hopefully." I said. I managed to work up a smile to reassure my friend. He just patted my back and went back to working on the paper the teacher gave us. I looked at her and just let out a long sigh. "I do hope she loves me as I do her." I whispered to myself.

That Wednesday was the day her and I were going to hang out for lunch again. That was the day of fate, and when it came upon us, I couldn't be more scared as I was that day. I was so nervous, I couldn't do anything right that day without sweating or mixing up my words. When the time came, and the bell had rung signaling lunch, I walked over to her slowly and tried to keep a steady smile. When I got to her, she smiled and we walked out as usual. When we arrived at a table, I sat down and we talked for a while. I could hear the voice in my head yelling at me to say it to her. It became too much to bear so I knew I had to say it soon.

"You know, these lunches you spend with me are actually quite fun. Don't you think so?" She asked me. I looked at her and was just memorized by her face. It almost made me forget what I had to tell her. I then jumped back to reality and prepared to ask her. I took a deep breath and swallowed what fear I had and cleared my throat.

"Yeah I do have fun with you, in fact, hanging out with you is amazing. Sweetie Belle, I have to tell you something. I don't know if you noticed, but I like you. There is no hiding that. I just...wanted you to know that I do like you and think that you are amazing. I love spending time with you and never thought I could meet a mare that could change my life so much like you have. Ever since day 1, when I heard your name. I knew that you would be just absolutely amazing. Everything about you is just so, perfect. I would be honored if you could be my special somepony. So what do you say?" I said to her. Her cheeks grew red and I was just smiling awkwardly. She let out a small giggle and still smiled while I continued to wait for an answer. Her giggle made me laughs little and I looked back at her when I finished.

"Morning Mist, I never knew you liked me this much. I've never had a Colt find me this interesting. I just can't believe it." She responded. She giggled some more and I couldn't contain my smile from breaking out. "I would love to be your girlfriend if that is what your asking. Because I've liked you for a while now too." She said nervously. She was smiling much like I was. I put my hoof over hers and smiled. We both just laughed ad continued on like it was a normal day. I was relieved to know she liked me too. We both had a lot in common once we started talking more. When lunch ended that day, Blaze came running up to me and wanted to know the facts right away.

"So did you ask? What did she say? What happened?" He said very fast. I looked at him and laughed. I filled him in on the situation and he was happy for me. Big time! "We should celebrate Mist! This is amazing to hear!" He said as we entered the classroom. He kept saying stuff to me but Sweetie Belle and I locked eyes and couldn't stop staring until one of us laughed or did something to break the mental bond. We would do this often and it became habit. Everypony could easily see after the first couple of days, we were in love.

Disaster Strikes

Sweetie Belle and I were in love. We would spend almost all our free time with each other. When we were at school, we were inseparable, and almost everypony knew it in class. I always walked her home after school and made sure she was ok at school. She would always greet me with the same beautiful smile and would always giggle when I would try to make her laugh. I was constantly hitting myself while I was around her to make sure it wasn't a dream, because she was the perfect filly for me.

"We should spend one of our days together, just a full day of doing stuff. You and I only, what do you think?" Sweetie Belle asked me as I looked over to her. I smiled softly at the idea. She took the thought right out of my head.

"That sounds amazing. I would love to do that with you! Wanna do that this Saturday? If you are available." I replied as she put her head on my chest. I smiled and put my hoof around her. Her mane was too beautiful just to look at, and it was silky smooth. That next day I was hanging out with Blaze and he was actually jealous of me!

"Dammit bro, you two look perfect together! Now if only it was me." He said in a saddening tone. I laughed a little and looked over at him.

"Don't worry too much about it Blaze, you'll find the one for you. It just takes time." I reassured him. He looked a tiny bit better. Even though he helped me with Sweetie Belle, he seemed like he didn't think it would actually work out as perfectly as it did. The next couple of days were as usual. Sweetie Belle and I would hang out and we were sometimes visited by her friends, but their visits didn't last long. I was walking her home on the Friday before we would both hang out on the next day. She and I were talking as usual until we reached her house. We stopped in front of it to talk a little more.

"I can't wait until tomorrow! We are going to have so much fun! Plus, I get to spend another day with you." She said as I shook my head to agree. My nervousness from days past had faded away and I could be myself in front of her.

"I know! I can't wait until tomorrow either! Have I ever told you how beautiful you look Sweetie Belle?" I asked her. She looked at me and just started to laugh. Her cheeks became rosey and I just smiled at her.

"Yes you've told me before haha! I just can't believe you find me that beautiful." She responded. I looked at her with a confused face.

"How could nopony not find you beautiful? You just are. It's hard to explain." I said as her cheeks were undoubtably red. She looked over at her house, then back to me.

"Well, I should be getting inside. My sister will start worrying about me if I don't. Bye Morning Mist." She sadly said.

"Ok ill see you tomorrow Sweetie Belle, I love you." I replied as we hugged. When I felt her body, I was blushing and my nervousness was creeping up on me again. When we finished hugging, I watched her walk over toward her house. I turned around and lifted one hoof to start walking home. When I was about to start walking, I heard Sweetie Belle yell out my name.

"Morning Mist wait!" She yelled. I tuned around and saw her running toward me. She hugged me agin, but this time she looked at me and we both locked eyes. We steadily moved closer and closer. "I love you too." She whispered to me and just after she uttered those words, our lips met. For that short couple of seconds that our lips were locked, there wasn't a single worry in the world. My head was clear, and the only word I could think of was love. After we finished kissing, we both opened our eyes again and she walked back to her house. As I turned around, I was still caught in the moment. My eyes were half open as I began walking home.

"Wow, she got the slip on me there. I have to admit, I did not see that coming." I whispered as I walked home. That night, I could only think of tomorrow and her.

When I awoke on the next day, I waited until the time we were supposed to meet in the town. I wanted to run there, because I felt like I was late, but then again I didn't want to smell bad when I got there so I just walked. I sometimes found myself speed walking at times.

"I hope I'm not late! I don't want her to think bad of me." I said to myself as I arrived at the spot we were to meet. She was there, but so were two other ponies. It was her "best friends" Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara again. I looked at them with rage as they laughed at Sweetie Belle. I ran up to her and jumped in front of her. The other two jumped back.

"What are you doing here Morning Mist? We aren't making fun of you." Silver Spoon said. I looked at her and began to feel the rage building even more.

"Yeah, I mean. She isn't even worth it. She is a loser." Diamond Tiara added. I finally couldn't take enough of their stupidity.

"The only losers I'm seeing here are the two infront of me! In fact, I only see two annoying ponies that won't leave Sweetie and I alone. I protect her because she is a part of me. You two need to go and find yourselves lives because all you do is put Sweetie down and mess with her and her friends. Now leave and I better not see you two messing with her again." I said to them as I advanced toward the two cowering ponies. They didn't say a word after what I had said to them. I they just turned around and walked away.

"Why did you do that? They were bugging me, but you didn't have to be that hard on them." She said softly as I turned around to help her get up.

"I didn't want them to ruin our big day together. Lets try to forget what they've done and let us have the time of our lives! What do you say?" I said to her. I was desperately trying to get her to smile. I saw a smile break her once sad face. It means it had worked and I hugged her. When we stopped hugging and I moved some of her hair from her face to see her beautiful smile. We went off to a restaurant that day then spent some time at the park where we laid down under a tree together and talked. She was laying down with her head on my chest as I looked up to the sky with my two front hooves under my head.

"I've had so much fun with you to say Mist! It's almost like this is a dream! I keep having to reassure myself that this is real life." Sweetie Belle told me as I smiled stupidly.

"I loved today too Sweetie Belle! We have to do this more often! I would love it!" I replied as she still had her head on my chest. She positioned herself so she could look at me. Her happy bright attitude completely changed as she looked at me.

"Well, thing is.....I don't think we can do this again. There is a good reason though. Please let me explain." She said. I sat up and was worried as well. I started to sweat and my fears started to rise within me quickly. I was afraid to ask why, but I did regardless.

"Why though? I don't get why you can't hang out like this again?" I asked her. My fears were at a peak and we both stood up. She looked down for a little bit and she looked back up after building the strength to tell me why.

"It is because my older sister, Rarity wants to live in Canterlot. She found a house there and already bought it. I'm really sorry. I barely found out yesterday that we are moving. I am really sorry." She said rapidly. I was in total shock. It made me shiver just hearing those words come from my angel's mouth. I was in total awe. I couldn't say anything or move for about a minute.

"When d-do you leave?" I asked her shakily. She didn't want to respond, but she knew I needed an answer.

"On Monday night." She said under her breath. I barely heard it, but it made me, once again, shiver. I was just standing there in complete silence.

"You don't have to b-be sorry about that my love." I said slowly. I was torn. I couldn't feel anything at that moment. It felt like a hammer hit my chest and I was gasping for breath. I didn't want to lose my love, not like this.

I won't let you go!

"Gone...she is going to b-be......gone. Forever." I slowly said to Blaze as he was looking at me in shock. He was thinking of something to say. My eyes were fixed at looking at the floor and nothing else. "She said she is leaving later tonight. What do I do? I can't find a single thing to say. How do I stop this? How?" I said as I kept looking at the floor. Blaze put his hoof over my back and I couldn't hold in the tears anymore. I started to feel the drops rolling off my face and impacting the floor.

"Don't worry about it Mist. You did the best you could, and be proud of that. Stuff happens, it's sad to say but sometimes things are just.......too good to be true." He slowly said to me as he noticed I was starting to cry. He tapped my back twice and sat up in his seat in class. I kept looking down and saw nothing but tears and...her. Only her. I could feel nothing in my chest but pain. I tried to look up, but I couldn't. That Monday was the slowest in the whole world. Nothing could have made it go faster. I had tried to make myself happy, but nothing could fill the void. When it was time for lunch, I sat there at the table her and I sat at and just looked at the floor. I could see happy memories of her. I could see her smile, I could hear her laugh. Her beautiful laugh that struck me as innocent was now gone. No laughter was as distinct as hers. My eyes were watery even then. I could do nothing but cry.

"Why? Why must it end like this? It can't......it can't end like this. It just can't." I said as I broke into tears again. Nothing was working properly that day. When we were back in the classroom I tried to hide my tears from the teacher and the fillies around me. I only looked up once that day and it was to look at her desk. Empty, just like my heart. I saw one of her books still there and I just stared at it for a long time. I slowly looked back at the cold floor to see wet marks on the floor from my tears. I just looked at the paper on my desk and tears began to run again. When the bell had rung to signal the end of school that day, I just slowly got up and picked up my stuff. "It can't be, it just can't be. I can't lose her, we both love each other. This isn't right! Dammit I deserve and answer why!!!" I said to myself as I walked out into the front of the school house. I was slowly walking home. Blaze walked with me because he wanted to make sure I was alright or something like that.

"Look, don't beat yourself up over this, it wasn't your fault. You did your best out there kid. Nopony could've ever asked anymore from you." He said as an attempt to cheer me up. Nothing seemed to be working. I wasn't making a turn for the better. It was only getting worse as I drew closer to home. When I reached my doorstep, I looked over at Blaze and just took a deep, depressing breath.

"Thanks for all the help, but I think I am just gonna never get over this. She was truly one perfect filly for me and now she is...gone." I replied to him as he waited for me to go in. He then looked at me with a weird face and was thinking about something. I was about to turn around and go in, but he put his hoof on my shoulder and made me face him.

"Ok I didn't believe you were actually this serious about her. If you are this serious then there is more advice I can give you. How much do you love her?" He asked me quickly as I looked up at him to see what he was getting on about.

"Words cannot describe my love for her. If there was a word strong enough to display my affection towards her, believe me, I would use it." I replied as I wiped some tears out of my eyes. He looked at me in the eyes and smiled.

"Then fight! Fight for the love you desperately care for! Fight to keep that flame alive! Don't let it die! Don't just sit here and watch it happen. You fight for what you love!" He whispered to me. My eyes grew wide and at that instant, my tears stopped. I lifted my head up and looked at the sun. My spirit had lifted. I had a change of heart. My mind suddenly shifted away from sadness.

"You're....you're right! Thank you Blaze! You're a true friend indeed! I'll see you tomorrow!" I said to him as I left. I dropped my saddlebag and ran as fast as I could towards my angel. "I hope to Celestia that you are still there! I can't be late!" I said to myself as I ran across town to reach her. I saw her house with carriages outside and big boxes. "They haven't left yet!" I yelled as I ran toward the house. I ran closer and closer until I saw the door of the house open and I halted just outside the house. I saw a bigger mare come out. It was her sister Rarity. She looked down at me, probably confused on why I was here. I looked past her and saw Sweetie Belle inside. "Rarity, if I could please talk to Sweetie Belle. It won't take long I promise. Please just give me at least a minute." I begged her as she looked at me oddly. She looked back into the house and cleared her throat.

"Sweetie, there is a colt here to see you, but make it quick. We have to leave." She said as Sweetie Belle looked over at her sister, then down at the door where I was sitting. Her eyes grew wide and she ran over past her sister to me. Rarity went back inside and Sweetie and I just hugged for a solid thirty seconds. I didn't want to let her go, but I had to. When we looked at each other, I saw her once beautiful, innocent face. I was mesmerized once again by her. I jumped back into reality and remembered what I was here for.

"Sweetie. I know you are leaving, and you won't see me again, but this doesn't have to be the ending! I don't care how long it takes, I will make it to Canterlot and I will find you once I get there!" I said to her as she looked at me.

"You don't have to do that Mist. I'm not worth it." She replied as she looked down at the ground, as if she was ashamed. I grabber her hoof and looked into her eyes.

"Listen to me my love. I promise I will go after you. I don't care how long it takes, I will be there for you. All I ask of you is to wait. Wait for me and I will be there. We can still be in love. I will write you if I have to, but I will never break this promise you hear me?" I said to her. She just smiled and kissed me. Again, once our lips met, there wasn't a worry in the world. Rarity was calling for her inside and we both hugged one last time. She got into one of the carriages and off they went. I watched as they headed toward Canterlot. I stood up and walked into the middle of the road. "Don't forget Sweetie! Don't you forget! I will be there for you!" I yelled as the carriages grew smaller and smaller. I sat on that road far after they had left. I was smiling and looking at the sun setting on the mountains up ahead. I took a breath of relief. That day no longer felt like I had lost something, rather it felt like I had gained something that could not be lost. Something irreplaceable.
