Rainbow Dash better never find out about this. I had made a monumental discovery and the blue pegasus better not find out about it or she'll never forgive me.
My existence had butterflied away a Daring Do book.
Daring Do and the Prancing Mummy.
What’s even worse, it was pretty damn good. Might be one of her best ones actually. Yeah, she’d be pissed if she ever found out.
On the other hoof… maybe I should bring a copy for her. That’d earn me some major points, that could be useful.
If nothing else, hearth's warming present.
…Does bringing a book from a different universe and publishing it in one where the original author still exist but has not written that book specifically count as plagiarism, fanfiction or copyright?
I bet Daring Do would like one though. Bring two. One for Rainbow and one for Daring. Surely it’s not piracy if Daring publishes her own book.
I turned the page and kept reading in the light of the light of my horn, the moon high in the sky outside the window.
The door suddenly opened sharply. It didn’t quite slam open but it was definitely not a polite opening of doors.
Princess Celestia didn’t quite storm inside, but her shoes clicked against the floor in a decidedly annoyed way, “Prince Blank Page,” she said as the doors closed behind her, not quite hiding the two guards taking position outside, “We have matters to discuss.”
“Oh thank Celestia,” I said and closed the book and looked up at her, “Can you please talk some sense into her!”
Celestia paused and blinked at me in surprise, “What?”
I put the book down and jumped off the couch, “Midnight! She wants to come back to my world, tell her she can’t!”
“You… don’t want her to come?”
“No!” I said and sighed, “Damn it, I knew I would be blamed for this! No, I don’t want her to come. It’s too important that she stays here!”
Celestia frowned slightly, “You think so?”
I sighed and nodded, “I think so,” I said and shook my head, “...It’s too important. The elements need her, the… the thestrals need decursing. Her friends, her family…”
Celestia regarded me for a long moment, “She said you supported her.”
Maneuver.
“I do,” I sighed and stomped by hoof, “I have to, she’s my friend. I want her to be happy. Her staying here… she won’t be. Not at first. And a lot of ponies back home will miss her. Tempest… buck, Tempest… what the buck will I tell her...”
“Her marefriend.”
Ready strike.
I nodded and shifted my wings, looking out the window, “Yes,” I said, “...Damn. Tempest… that mare got knocked down when she was a little filly and life had done nothing but kick her while she was down until she met Midnight.”
Celestia didn’t answer for several long moments, turning to look out towards the moon before she looked at me again, “And you still wish for me to talk her into staying.”
Taking a deep breath, I then let it out and walked up to stand next to her, looking up at the moon, “Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because the happiness of a few ponies is nothing against the safety of a world,” I told her as I looked up at the light of the moon, “Even if it’s ponies I know.”
“That’s a cold way of viewing things.”
I looked up at her with a slight smile, “It’s what you taught me.”
Chink in unbreakable armor, angle blade, slip through guard.
Celestia didn’t quite flinch. Instead she turned her head and looked up towards the moon again.
She didn’t say anything for several long moments, “Tell me about Tempest Shadow?” she finally asked.
Heart pierced.
So I did. I told her of how she joined us after the invasion. How she and Midnight got closer. How they moved in together when we moved to Nocturnis. Of her honor and sense of duty.
How life had absolutely bucked her in the face at every turn. That she had still gotten back onto her hooves and refused to back down.
Celestia mostly just listened, just asking the occasional question. Finally she nodded, “Thank you, Page,” she said, “but it is getting late.”
I nodded, “Good night, Princess. Sweet dreams,” I said, giving her a small bow.
“Good night, Page,” Celestia said quietly and left, the door closing behind her.
I took a deep breath before letting it out. It was a dangerous game to play with Celestia this way. Any Celestia. They were too damn good. But for My Ponies, I’d use any advantage I had and those included Midnight and Tempest. And the Yetis didn’t call me the Prince of Lies for nothing.
Because Midnight was right. They didn’t strictly need her here.
What they needed, what my bats here needed, was a point to gather around, to help gather them and in a way I didn’t think even Luna could.
After this long, they wouldn’t trust anypony but another bat.
So it’s time I ready another weapon and ruin the life of another pony to do it.
Ouch. Celestia taught you too well, Page.
You manipulative turd
Correction: Remove red text, superfluous.
Ohhhh, ouch. I think I see where this is going, and ouch.
Make for quite a story on its own, but ouch.
Page has turned evil... and I dont mean in the cos play way...

He learned from manipulativiest of the bitches - from Celestia herself (and we love her for this).
Well, he did admit to being on Midnights side.
Yesss. Give in to the dark side.
Unfortunately do the greater good is payed by many good ponies joy and lifes...
great chapter
The "Will She/Won't She" attempt at suspense is pretty silly seeing as continuing this multiverse trainwreck is an easy source for pumping out chapters.
Thanks for chapter!
Have a good day!
Oh...next on the list: DISCORD! WUHU!
Celestia walks in
"Oh thank Celestia!"
Celestia doesn't hit him with something.
Oh its like its on easy mode when they don't know him.
Now I'm curious who he's going to ruin to be batpone
You know... When human travel to Equestria its all fine... But why not a pony travel to another Equestria?
As long they made a choice and live with it?
Than that it.

Flutters.
...MEANWHILE AT FLUTTERSHY'S HOUSE...
Fluttershy: Discord? What are you doing on my roof?
Discord: Oh nothing..I just sensed that a NOSY predator is up and about. I don't want it to endanger anyone inside.
Fluttershy: Aww its nice that you care about my animals that much!
Discord: Right...the animals. I'll be back in for tea soon. Go on ahead.
Fluttershy: Okay!
*Fluttershy walks back into the house as Angel Bunny appears next to Discord*
Discord: Angel. Set the traps. If Page wants to follow thru with his AUDACITY, we will NOT make it easy.
Angel:
Nice
Talk about bringing out the big guns.. XD
And it's here we see Page's code for the Needs of the Many Outway the Needs of the Few, Or The One. It can be seen as extremely harsh and cold, but when looking at the Bigger Picture of thing that need to be acknowledged and help extended in Equestria.
11333615
Most don't get the option to go back, and of the ones that do, most don't have as much if anything to go back to. And of those few, none were world saving rulers
Because the happiness of a few ponies is nothing against the safety of a world
Actually, that's entire point of being worthy of any kind of power. Ability to sacrifice things you hold dear, like your own happiness, when it MUST be done for sake of these you rule over. Chains Of Commanding are real and must be followed, otherwise you will hurt a lot of peoples for sake of temporal happiness.
My guess is primarily Fluttershy, and if not her then Midnight turned bat. I wonder how he's going to get Discord on board either way.

Everyone quoting that is forgetting that film had TWO lessons. This was only one of them.
The other was "I don't believe in the No-Win Scenario! "
11333778
It's not a no-win scenario, though. It's no-win only if you look at it from the personal perspective of Midnight and those who know her. Look at the bigger picture like Page is, and a lot of ponies can win in Midnight's old world. Whether Midnight stays or leaves, some of her friends will get hurt, but if he uses Midnight's decision to manipulate canon Fluttershy, then both worlds overall stand to benefit.
Just because there's no such thing as a no win scenario doesn't mean everyone can win. That's why The Needs of the Many is the second big lesson, not the first. It comes later to temper Kirk.
Damn, that's fucked
The harsh reality of a ruler
So... Why does it seem like no one is considering the EQG Mirror-portal option instead of a one-off spell?
11333760
Or he means himself.
11333778
Words of true wisdom there.
A shame we don't know on any in-cannon way of duplicating ponies... oh wait there are several including just grabbing a 3rd Twilight from some doomed world and not telling her....
what would u blank do if i despise tea
Uh oh, Flutters. Plots be about this night!

There is an idea that maintaining too close a connection between universes that are too similar can destroy both. I think it originated in some comics I haven't read, where Celestia falls in love with a good mirror-universe Sombra.
The author could also be avoiding route of connecting all the universes, like Goldfur did with his formerly-human alicorn prince character.
In-character, we also might be looking at researchers who have been working on one difficult problem so long--returning someone in an unknown universe--that they haven't had that epiphany that this situation is different. They've overlooked the idea of sending a beacon with Page so that they can connect their universes again.
Do you think that Canon.002 world's Discord, would probably do something to ensure that there ACTUALLY could be some way to create a stable means of travel between the two alternate dimensions, maybe even work with Pageverse-Discord to do so? Partly because Pageverse-Discord owes Page BIG for the MONUMENTAL screw-up of bringing in Canon.002-Twilight to his dimension for NOTHING more than a WHIM, but also because doing such an action, would be CHAOTIC in its own right? I mean, here you have all this fuss over what is right and good and the logical thing to do in a life-changing scenario like this, where someone ends up getting hurt somehow or the other, and then all of a sudden, something NEW pops up which makes EVERYTHING irrelevant and unnecessary? It does seem PLAUSIBLE that either one or BOTH Discords could do SUCH a thing, (which is a little weird, considering that they're beings of CHAOS of all things,) even if it's for Fluttershy's sake so that both Fluttershys would still have their friends, and could make new friends, and even make friends with their alternate selves, and learn and grow from each other. You gotta admit, it DOES sound like something Discord would do, maybe they'd even use the mirror as a medium or something, so the two EQG worlds would be connected too, and we'd also have stuff with the Changelings, Yaks, Hippogriffs, Dazzlings, etc. making a whole lot MORE CHAOS too....

Changing Expections.
It's an AU Changeling PoV Story that is very well done.
Similar but different to Hiver's Pageverse, which is why I get the two confused from time to time.
And occasionally mixed up with the Beanverse, or No Nose Knows. Which recently had a Crossover with the Markverse of Off The Mark, which I've just finished reading. And the had a crossover with the Cogverse, or Pathverse.
SO MANY AU's!!!!! EEEEeeeeeee!!!!
11334167
No, Page will be LEAVING this universe. It was said that Page has to ruin another pony for it. It can only mean Fluttershy as a focus.
11334440
I THINK i've read it, but link please? Kinda forgot what happened there.
Oooh, that was deviously clever of Page. In telling Celestia the tale of Tempest, she made clear just what she would be asking Twilight, Spike and Tempest to sacrifice. This may not seem like much on the surface, especially given the "the happiness of a few ponies is nothing against the safety of a world", but it strikes a cord with Celestia because it's usually her who is that pony who sacrifices her happiness. And while sacrificing your own happiness for the sake of others is a noble gesture, when you start demanding others sacrifice their happiness you're starting down a path that is easily the opposite.
And Celestia is ultimately not a pony who would ask others sacrifice their happiness for her own benefit lightly. Not if there are alternatives to seek.
11334320
We that this isn't always the case though. The EQG universe exists after all, and Sunset has been on that side for years without ill intent. Given that the same for Twilight and Spike having spent years in Page's timeline without any ill effect, there doesn't seem to be much of a threat of dimensional collapse in this case. The comic mirrorverse seems to be unique in that regard (and really, that was mostly just an excuse to cut Celestia off from Sombra).
It's been established that Daring's books are the results of Yearling's actions, not the other way around.
No book means there was no expedition into whatever ruin she was supposed to go.
So, when Page brings Yearling the book, won't that potentially mess things up even more?
The conditions of the ruins may have change from what the Canon Daring experienced, and thereby make a dangerous situation into an absolutely fatal one for the Pageverse Daring.
11334440
Heh! And I'm sooo looking forward to Silvak's Aether character to find out about all those--Tasered Chairs Will Be Launched!
I wonder if they could just collect all batponys in cannon universe to Pageverse. Breed them for a century and than give a well educated, military trained and very eager herd back to cannon universe.
11334580
He also, probably not so inadvertantly, thereby told her “by the way, this was the pony your sister killed”. Now we don’t know how exactly that went down, having only Luna’s fairly casual admission at the end of chapter 15 with no followup details...but the realization here must have pushed Celestia’s emotional buttons pretty hard regardless.
I wonder what precisely that means? I'd guess Fluttershy, but that could be too simple...
11333582
It's a similar plot point to an episode of Star Trek called 'Tomorrow is Yesterday', albeit with a very different context. All the same, it's a pretty nasty dilemma.
11333615
In terms of this story? When Page got displaced for a still-unknown reason, they weren't able to locate his homeworld and even if they had, they didn't have the spell they're working on now. Then one must consider that years later he's now thoroughly naturalised to his new home, has a good life and has responsibilities. Then of course there's the issue of the alien body, which there's no guarantee of going away with the jump, which would cause social issues. Then there's the question of the impact of ascension...
Midnight is unfortunate to have been caught at the tipping point of personal happiness, which means she has that plus her duty to her home country to consider.
11334550
Unless he finds one of his aides' duplicates, or (FAR less likely) curses someone, yeah.
11334626
If I recall Yearling mentioned that she alters some events before publication, so she'd presumably be wary of that risk already. She might alternately just simply avoid that place if she can (assuming none of her rogues gallery force her there, which could make for a rather interesting scenario come to think of it...)
11335500
There are huge logistics issues with dumping thousands upon thousands of Thestrals from one world to another in terms of burden on local services, etc. Not to mention the actual casting. Also what if a large number don't just marry within their group but natives of the Pageverse? Over three or four generations (which just one century is), that's going to create a vast number of people who are three quarters Pageverse native and grew up there, with very few if any survivors of the old world. How many of those would be happy to go to a completely alien universe?
Grammar jackboot of the day, minus localisation errors:
original author still exist but has not written

Hmm, could we have found an anchor? Or a sample of molecules to help us track down Canon.002 Twilight's particular home dimension through Medium Transfer Principle?
You wrote in one part of this chapter that the Yetis called Page "The Prince of Lies". I don't remember the yetis calling him that, but I do remember Ambrosia calling him that.
Not to mention the fact that nopony in this reality has ripped off "Star Wars," or "Terminator."
Yes, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Mr. Spock says so. (Then again, Jim Kirk says "The needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many.")
