(Before any complaints, Yes I know Valstrax is not the most powerful Elder Dragon, but frankly, I find him to be the coolest, and we are each entitled to our opinions. Besides, there isnt much in the way of MH fan fics, so I thought I'd try something out.)
First things first, This is my private journal, that has been enchanted to let me know if anyone is getting into it. So unless I have given it to you or I'm dead, Expect a sonic boom followed by something red charging straight at you. Good? Cool.
So we have all heard of displacement. We have all read stories where we turn into our character from a game, or enter the world of it, or any number of combinations. Well I have to say this is a first, for me anyways, and no I'm sot talking about proving it's real or it happening to me in the first place.
No I'm talking about being turned into my favorite monster. You see, I play a lot of Monster hunter, and everyone has their favorite. Mine was Valstrax. The Rocket Powered Elder Dragon, as we fans call it. And that's not all, because of course not. Of course I'd be in a world called Equestria, where all fear me to be some creature made from a chaos god.
Well I shouldn't say all. Tia and Lulu seem to like me.

It's not too big a deal as it's only the first chapter, which is usually a bit faster than the rest of the story with most other stories as well, but I still feel it's worth mentioning that the pacing was a lil out of control.
Outside of that I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter as Valstrax is just the coolest fucking thing ever.
Interesting concept for a story. Cant say iv seen many monster hunter crossovers. Going to give this a favorite cause I'm curious to see where this story goes.

You might want to include a status in your description on if or if not the main character will meet other displaced. By including said status, people won't bother you on wanting to cross-over when you're not ready or don't plan too.

People tend to hate cross-overs due alot of authors either do too many cross-overs, or the cross-overs end up slowing down/derailing/cause the plot to stop being the main focus. So if or when you do cross-over, you need to choose wisely and whom you write with and make sure the main plot continues with the extra Displaced. Be sure to limit your cross-overs and allow the three elements: Character growth, world-building, and the plot to grow.

Don't worry, I am well aware due to reading a few stories that did what you discribed. If I do cross over, I want to do it in a way that allows me to not rely on the other story, allowing me to continue my own naritive, with the crossover being just a chaper in the overall story

In the beginning it sounded as if he was playing a game but he is still named Valkyre in the real world? Well I guess it depens on how the world was she lived in .
It could be because I saw so many stories with Celestia in control, but when Luna was leading her to Celestia, it already gave me the feeling that Luna is only some kind of servant for Celestia.
Just for the sake of it, my opinion is more or less if they want freetime, they can have it.
Even if some might want to argue, "but they need to help equestria and have a duty" and all that stuff, they can still do that just not when the yhave some freetime.
Of course you can overwork yourself but if a war starts as soon as she drinks a cup of coffe it's just bad luck I guess.

This was pretty nice, it maybe sounds wrong, but after the Nightmare moon story this was a nice suprise. I'm glad I asked you about it and decited to read it, this could be better than I imaged and maybe the first Monster Hunter / human turned creature story, that is finished and free from most cliches.

1: Her family was too much into Norse mythology. That and I couldn't come up with a name not Sarah, or Aurora or things like that.
2: The reason they don't have any free time is because they are currently Literally rebuilding Equestria from scratch after Discord. This was going to be explained in the next chapter but basically they are using the ruins of a castle left there over 100 years ago as the foundation of the current one. if it hadn't been for that they would be in a shack acting as the seat of office. So They need to manage and ration out food, build refuges for the people until an infrastructure can be built, Create at least a bare bones military to defend their nation whenever a certain dragon isn't around to deter invaders, on top of raising the sun and moon, managing laws and those who break them, and playing the Dance of Dynasty's despite Celestia being 17 almost 18 and Lulu just barely 16. I don't think they have time to just relax.
3: The reason you havn't seen much reaction is that gossip is still spreading. Eventually radicals may just appear when enough fear is present....

Well Not sure if they have already workers for them, but I still think two or three hours a day aren't to much to ask for even if they should do that stuff alone. I think at some point they have to relax a bit.
However maybe you haven't understood that in my comment really, but since it seems there is less build from the castle than I thought, I guess they are more busy than if it would be only the paper stuff and everything like that which could wait a day or two sometimes.
I mean I had a story that showed it nicely where the nobles came for problems like "can you open my bottle of ketchup?", which the ever dutyfull princesses could never turn down.
I really think it's more about how you like to think about it than that they would really never be able to do anything else than work.
I had meant to say that I understand it if they are currently a bit busy, but one or two hours should still be in, I mean to eat and stuff like that.
I can't say much about number 3. However I guess since no one had seen something like him an awestruck expression could be expected. It doesn't has to happen but it will properly look odd if everyone is acting as if there was nothing special or scary about him.

I understand that much, and they will get more freedom as the story progresses and Equestria becomes stable again. But for the current part of the story, short of meals and rest, there isnt a whole lot of free time. The point of these chapters, on top of introducing Val, is to show the aftermath of what discord left, and how the fixing of it was not done over night.
