A treasure trove of historical insights re-emerges after hundreds of years, and Sunny, Zipp, and Dusty Inkstain embark on an expedition to uncover any documents they can. But with centuries lost in Celestia-knows-where comes an unknowable question: What else was banished with the Crystal Empire?

This story is a slightly edited copy of my entry to the Expanding Universes #4 contest, which means it is an expansion of this story by applezombi. I'd recommend reading that one first, but it's not strictly necessary.

The last decade in Equestria has been marked by a lack of sunlight, and an overabundance of tyranny. But today, 10 years after it disappeared, the Sun returns. Praise the Sun.

This was my submission for the Quills & Sofas "Two Halves" contest that was held in the Q&S Discord server. Decided it was worth some minor polishing and publishing.

Grief is a funny thing, really. It consumes you until you can't think about anything else. Cadance knows this all too well. But her grief is pushed out of the way when an unexpected visitor shows up, her story changing Cadance's grief forever.
