Time is a fickle thing isn’t it? One simple change and the universe could go into disarray. Yes, not all changes are bad, but most universes depend on six special ponies. Without them, that worlds Equestria could go into chaos, but not every. But lets think for a moment, one simple, tiny change can create a world so different, but all so similar.
Who ever knew that one rainboom would’ve connected twelve different ponies from different parts of Equestria? When Twilight Sparkle and Sunny Starscout go to Maretime Bay to check on preparations, a series of unfortunate events leads them to become Equestria’s new guardians.

Hello there. Thanks greatly for getting this story started. Appreciate the work going into the dialogue, characterizations and future chapter set-up. Really liked Sunny's dream world chat with Clover (as well as Fate chewing Clover out for interfering, even if it was in a dream) as well as the interactions with Twilight Velvet, the dream world chat with Celestia and the AU characterization notes (yeah, it makes sense that Twilight would be less introverted than canon at this point from spending time with Sunny).
I will definitely be looking forward to more of this.

Thanks immensely for getting the next chapter up. I really like the work going into the dialogue, characterizations and future chapter set-up. Really liked the descriptions of the bits of subtle influence Twilight and Sunny have had on each other. And, yeah, the little bits of foreshadowing concerning Sunny's reaction to the stuff mentioned concerning Nightmare Moon's previous defeat were also well done, as was Sunny mentioning having previously lived in Maretime Bay before she moved to Canterlot as a filly and even knowing about Sweet Apple Acres. I wonder if Hitch is going to be talking to Rainbow about finding a place to practice her stunt flying AFTER she takes care of the clouds (with Sunny reacting to her old friend being the current sheriff). Zipp showing signs of wanting to prepare for Nightmare Moon from HER OWN research would be a great touch foreshadowing her interest in detective work.
And, for some reason, I could easily see Opaline being the second major villain the Mane Twelve face - AFTER Nightmare Moon, but BEFORE Discord. As well as Opaline being their biggest RECURRING enemy, teaming up with most of the other major villains at least once each individually before the final season. But that's my imagination running away with me and I'm sorry about that.
But, anyway, definitely looking forward to more of this.

Thanks for commenting! Opaline, fortunately, will NOT take place between Season 1 and Season 2, but between Season 2 and 3... well, you’re just gonna wait and see! In Season 1, Opaline will be in about 2 - 4 episodes, but during Season 2 is when she steps up her game. I can see why Zipp would want to prepare for Nightmare Moon, y’know, the whole detective business. But I’m still figuring out when and how I should put it so do NOT expect the new chapter soon.

You're quite welcome. Of course, with Hitch being the sheriff and Zipp's detective deal, it would also make sense that they would both be in charge of security for the Celebration. Security would be a good one for AFTER weather but BEFORE decorations. Izzy, of course, would be helping Rarity with decorations and Pipp could be helping Fluttershy with music. Misty (an old friend of Izzy from when they both lived in Bridlewood) could be the one who was in charge of the library before Twilight and Sunny moved in [well, moved BACK in Sunny's case]).
A possible dialogue for Sunny and Hitch:
Sunny: Hi, Hitch. It's been a long time.
Hitch: Eleven years - just a few months before Twilight became Princess Celestia's personal student based on one of your letters. And, well, I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your dad last year. I know what that's like.
Sunny: Yeah. One of your letters mentioned you lost both of your parents a couple years after I moved to Canterlot with my dad. At least Granny Figg did a good job taking care of you. One of your most recent letters mentioned that you just made sheriff a few months ago.
Hitch: Yeah. I did. Anyway, I know you and Twilight are here to look over Summer Sun Celebration security and I hope it meets to Princess Celestia's high standards.

Hello there. Thanks very much for getting the next chapter up and for liking one of my ideas enough to be inspired by it. Definitely love the work going into the dialogue, characterizations and future chapter set-up. Absolutely loved the banter between Rainbow and Zipp (yeah, it makes a lot of sense that the two are friendly rivals) as Rainbow got ready to take care of the clouds, as well as the reason Pipp was working on decorations with Rarity and Izzy instead of music with Fluttershy. On another note, I'm guessing that the primary difference between a "Queen" and a "High Princess" is giving birth to at least one heir (since I VERY seriously doubt Haven is crazy enough to think that she outranks Celestia). And, yeah, also really liked the foreshadowing for Sparky (whom I'm guessing to still be a few years younger than Spike even if old enough to speak full sentences), Twilight and Sunny backing up Zipp and the chat with Misty on the way to the lighthouse (and, yes, it makes sense that Bridlewood would be less lively after Izzy moved to Maretime Bay as the only other one there who consistently showed actual energy was Misty's own father). And, now, Twilight, Sunny and Spike are about to experience a Pinkie Pie party.
Some possible ones for later:
Zipp: Here, Twilight. Noise cancelling headphones. They will let us stay focused on our research while this party is going on. One of the perks of having Pipp as a sister.
Twilight: Pipp is your sister?
Zipp: Yeah. Twins. I'm the older one by a few minutes, so I'm the heir and Pipp's the spare. Anyway, Pipp is always trying to get me to take part in her streams, but I keep refusing. Anyway, the noise cancelling headphones are a must for keeping focused on research with all of the "'Pinkie Pie parties'" that take place here. That mare is one of the few gals who could give Izzy competition in the hyperactivity department.

Spike: Well, yeah. I'm kind of thinking the same thing. I'm guessing you're somewhere in the four years old range since it would be after Sunny moved to Canterlot but still long enough for you to learn to talk.
Sparky: Good guess. Just turned four a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, Pinkie is one of the best babysitters in Maretime Bay, so Dad trusts me with her when he is doing his sheriff stuff.
Spike: One of the best babysitters? I bet Cadance could give her some decent competition, though.
Sparky: So, Sunny and Twilight, which one is your mother?
Spike: Neither. Twilight is actually more of my big sister. My adoptive parents are Twilight and Shining's biological parents. Sunny is more of a cool first cousin.
