Twilight Sparkle took a nap after Season 9 ended, only to find herself back at the start of Season 1. Stuck going home the long way 'round, will she be able to keep the timeline she remembers intact, or will the butterfly effect bulldoze over everything she held dear before the reset?

Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, this is a story concept I originally was going to abandon until I got a mountain of positive feedback. Expect character tag changes as each chapter comes out. (And yes, the cover image is inspired by Groundhog Day.)

Here's an entirely optional guide to the canon of this story, which will be updated periodically to include new details.

It was supposed to be a simple stargazing trip up to the mountains. But what Moondancer discovers hidden in the moonlight may change her life forever…

...or may, at least, wear too much eyeliner.

For on this night of nights, there lurks a pony of deep darkness: Moonlight Raven, whose adoration of the strange and mystical not only rivals Moondancer's respect of science and reason, but is physically preventing its pursuit.

Can these lovers of the night find common ground, or are they fated to annoy each other to death?

Anon and his daughter had finally started to settle into their new life amoungst ponies, with Anon now having a steady source of income and his child excelling in school. With the essentials assured, however, Anon started to search for more. After all, life doesn't have to just be the two of them, and he's always been open minded.

Problem is, ponies don't seem to share this trait, and Anon found himself rejected over and over. While he can get dates, no mare ever wants to stick around once they find out he is a single father, apparently caring more about his daughter than the fact that he's an alien.

Ready to give up, Anon is surprised when his daughter makes a very strange friend, and he himself begins to become intrigued with this sweater-wearing mare. Moondancer, for her part, is just trying not to make a fool of herself in front of this strange stallion while his cute-as-a-button daughter does everything possible to make her fall in love with the pair, intentionally or not.

Haycartes was one of the greatest equine intellectuals of all time, having made outstanding contributions to geometry, algebra, optics, as well as magic. He is regarded as the Father of Modern Philosophy. Yet, these days, many ponies do not even recognise his name.

Twilight Sparkle and Moondancer set out to educate their friends. Using the Haycartes Method of course.

A crossover with Descartes' Discourse on the Method.
