It has been several moons since Celestia, Drake, and Luna had retired from ruling Equestria. Twilight Sparkle now ruled Equestria and kept adding more land to it. Drake often visited Twilight every other moon, acting as a messenger between the retired princesses and Twilight. After several visits, Drake started to worry about Equestria's future. He noticed that there was no plan for an heir in the future and that Twilight's friends were advancing in age. And as the main six kept getting older, Twilight looked after them more and more, neglecting some important aspects of ruling. There were some issues going on between ponykind while Twilight looked after her friends. As the issue kept going unnoticed Celestia and Luna shared Drake's concern. When the issue got big enough for Twilight to notice, it was at the same time she lost the last of the main six, Fluttershy. At the loss of Fluttershy, Discord disappeared. Equestria spiraled out of control and Twilight had a hard time keeping it together. All three kinds of ponies got violent at the sight of another pony that wasn't one of their kind. With one last attempt, Twilight tried to keep Equestria together. She made three crystals, one for each ponykind. Going throughout Equestria, Twilight picked one pony from each kind to represent their kind. At first it worked, but as the crystals got passed down, the representing ponies got corrupted and power hungry. The Pegasi separated themselves and built cities on mountaintops to discourage any attacks from Earth Ponies and Unicorns. Unicorns left Earth Pony cities and started to live in forests and barren plains. Earth Ponies retreated among their civilizations, to avoid any form of combat. The Pegasi mined and found metal, and then proceeded to make armor and weapons. Unicorns made crude spears and spikes from tree trunks. Seeing Equestria on the brink of war and unable to do anything, Twilight quietly retired, setting the sun and moon on an automatic cycle. The Pegasi attacked first, driving several cities of Unicorns deep into unknown forests. As the attacks went deep into the forests, the Pegasi lost their flying advantage and were driven out. After weeks of battle, both Pegasi and Unicorns launched vicious attacks on the other. They destroyed many natural wonders and killed several innocent bystanders. After the vicious attacks, both sides found out that they no longer had any magic. Both sides then started to gather troops, determined to exterminate the other. During that time the Earth Ponies, desperate to stop the conflict and bring peace, mustered up an army bigger than the Pegasi and Unicorns combined. Unfortunately, the Earth Ponies were ill-prepared and were nearly driven to extinction. Earth Ponies fled for their lives, scattering in all directions. The battle also took a heavy toll on Pegasi and Unicorns, both who lost many soldiers. Both retreated to their secluded homes and waited for another attack, which never came. The Unicorn crystal swapped between many Unicorns before an unknown Unicorn ran off with it to an unknown wood with some followers. The Pegasus with the Pegasi crystal claimed to be the ruler of all Pegasi. Meanwhile, the pony with the Earth Pony crystal kept it hidden in the family for years. The pony was a descendant of the pony historian Drake befriended and an ancestor of Argyle Starscout, Sunny Starscout's father. The pony, along with a Pegasus and Unicorn, put aside their differences and secretly made a map of the three ponies' civilizations. The three shared stories of the once great Equestria Kingdom and kept the legend of the main six alive. Eventually as time passed, they all passed, and Sunny Starscout came along and brought magic back with her friends. And this is where the story begins.
Shortly after magic had been restored in Maretime Bay, the auroras from the reunited crystals made their way to the retired Alicorns. At the sight of the magical auroras, Twilight Sparkle brightened. Celestia, Drake and Luna shared Twilight's joy, but had some concerns about another war. Even though Maretime Bay and its surrounding areas were friendly, most Pegasi and Unicorns were still hostile with one another. They sent a message to where the crystals were located, saying that whoever brought magic back to bring one representative of each kind to visit them.
It was a bright and sunny morning when Sunny Starscout woke up and found an unmarked box underneath the crystals inside of the rebuilt lighthouse. She quickly had her friends come over. Hitch took several minutes examining the box before Zipp took it away and gave it to Sunny. They were all very eager as Sunny started to open the box. They were disappointed to see a letter, pen, paper, and three necklaces with mini versions of the crystals inside them. Sunny picked up the letter, which read, "Dear pony, if you are reading this, you have returned magic to all of Equestria. We Alicorns would like to thank you in person for what you have done. We want you to use the pen and paper to write us a letter about each of the ponies who helped you. Afterwards we will send a letter back with the date we expect for you to arrive. To send the message just use magic to send it to us, there aren't any other Alicorns than us. If you can't,put the letter in the box and pour the bottle's contents on it. Once you are ready to begin your journey, put on the necklaces, (Twilight was sentimental about sending them), for they will guide you to the land of the Alicorns. Signed, Cadence, Celestia, Drake, Luna, and Shining Armor."
"OMG!" Pipp squealed, "Mom used to tell us stories about the land of Alicorns. I have to go there and livestream it to my fans."
"Hold on Pipp," Hitch started, "I know you're excited, but we have to wait for Sunny's decision. They were writing to her." Sunny said she would sleep on it and tell everyone during the next couple of days. During the first two days, Sunny spent her time writing a response letter to the Alicorns, and a letter describing each of her friends. After four days, Sunny had Hitch gather everypony to listen to her announcement.
"Ponies of Maretime Bay," Sunny started, "A few days ago, we received a letter from ancient Alicorns in a distant land, wanting three of us to meet with them." Hearing this, most ponies started whispering among each other about legends and stories of Alicorns of old.
"Now I know most of you would like to go," Sunny continued, "but only one of each kind can go. So that's why I have chosen…"
"I assume you chose me to represent the Pegasi," Queen Haven interrupted, who had come because Pipp invited her, "After all, I am the queen."
Stunned that Queen Haven interrupted her, Sunny Starscout continued, "No, I did not choose you to go. I will take my friends with me, Izzy Moonbow and Zipp Storm." Izzy, who surprised no one, started throwing glitter everywhere, celebrating.
Zipp, who wasn't paying much attention, stopped what she was doing and said, "Hold on, you chose me?"
Pipp, who had grown close to Sunny after the restoration of magic, shouted angrily, "WHAT!!! WHY DOES ZIPP GET TO GO?!?!?"
"Let me explain Pipp," Sunny started, "Zipp joined first and I felt she helped more." Sunny tried her best to explain why Zipp was going. (Sunny didn't want to tell Pipp that the second letter the Alicorns sent regarding their arrival, stated that they didn't want some pony to expose their hidden land to the rest of the world.) At this point ponies started yelling, debating whether Pipp or Zipp should go, and Sunny lost control of the crowd.
"Calm down everypony," Hitch said, walking in front of the crowd, "Sunny's made her decision, no need to heckle her about." After hearing Hitch, the ponies started to disperse. Sunny wanted to talk to Pipp, but Pipp had left during the shouting back to Zephyr Heights. For the rest of the day, Sunny, Izzy, and Zipp packed for the long journey ahead. The next morning, when Sunny, Izzy, and Zipp put on the necklaces, the necklaces started to glow. The three ponies waved goodbye to everyone and started on their journey.
It was a perfect day as Sunny, Izzy, and Zipp started their journey. It wasn't long before Izzy started humming to herself. They were making good time until they came to a cliff blocked by boulders. Zipp quickly flew to the top, while Sunny and Izzy tried to figure out what to do. Sunny looked at Izzy and asked, "Do you think you can arrange it like a staircase Izzy?"
"I can try," Izzy said. Izzy's horn started to glow as she concentrated on moving the boulders. She was almost done when she collapsed.
Sunny checked to make sure Izzy was ok and said, "I think I can handle it from here." Sunny concentrated really hard, and her magical horn and wings appeared, as she moved the final boulders in position.
"Wow!" Izzy said, "You're starting to get good at magic."
"Thanks," Sunny replied, "Now, let's catch up to Zipp." When Sunny and Izzy got to the top, they saw Zipp standing near a cliff that overlooked the sea
"You gotta come see this," Zipp said, "Look at the view." The cliff they were on had a perfect view overlooking Maretime Bay in the distance. They could even see a shoreline of an island that was across from Maretime Bay. After moving on, they kept going until it got dark. As they set up camp, Sunny told Zipp the reason Pipp didn't come.
"I didn't tell anyone this, but after I sent a letter describing all of us and our friends, the Alicorns sent back a letter very quickly," Sunny started.
"And this was a bad thing?" Zipp asked.
"They did not seem excited to have somepony show the location of their hidden land to all of Equestria, so they requested that she stayed," Sunny answered, "I didn't want to tell Pipp that, so I made up the excuse that since you joined Izzy and I first, that you would go."
"That makes some sense I guess," Zipp said, trying to make sense of the matter, "but wouldn't have been easier to tell Pipp that herself."
Sunny was about to respond, when she heard crunching noises. Both Sunny and Zipp turned to see Izzy eating a snack, watching the conversation. After Izzy and Zipp fell asleep, Sunny looked at the map the Alicorns sent with their response letter to Sunny. She tried to find the location, but the map showed no sign of where the land of Alicorns was.
"Well," Sunny thought, "they're serious about keeping their land a secret." Afterwards, Sunny quickly fell asleep. The next morning when they woke up, they immediately noticed the gray clouds hovering above. The ponies quickly packed up camp and continued their journey. They were still making good time when they came across an abandoned fortress.
"Oooh," Izzy said, "What do you think is in there?" CRAAAAACKKKK! Thunder boomed and lightning lit the sky as it started to rain hard. Izzy, Sunny and Zipp quickly ran into the abandoned fortress for shelter. Inside, they found rusty Pegasi armor, broken windows, and one broken mirror. Sunny took out her map and laid it on a table in the middle of the room they were in. As Sunny looked at the map, she noticed that the map had one unmarked territory.
"That must be where these necklaces are leading us ," Sunny said, "We're only about a day or two out." While Sunny and Zipp were looking at the map, Izzy was making faces in the broken mirror. When Sunny turned to see what Izzy was doing, Sunny noticed a latch on the bottom of the mirror. Without thinking, Sunny opened the latch. The mirror swung open, throwing both Sunny and Izzy against a wall. Zipp cautiously approached the open mirror and grabbed the contents inside, which was a bunch of dusty papers.
"These look like battle plans," Zipp said, going through the papers. As they went through the papers, they noticed that all the papers had a Zephyr Height seal on them. Zipp found a piece of paper that planned out the territories of Equestria, with Zephyr Heights as the capitol. Meanwhile Sunny found a piece of paper that seemed to be a letter rather than a battle plan.
The letter read, "To the Royal Ruler of Zephyr Heights, letter 145 from Factory Fortress of Rain.
The Unicorns are starting to slowly advance against our troops. They've been using the forest as cover. We don't know how long we will last without backup. We don't know why, but we have lost the ability to fly. The Unicorns have also lost their magic, but it doesn't stop them from painting the ground red with their horns. Please send supplies and reinforcements immediately, or we will lose control of the fortress. If we can't get help and abandon the fortress, the object of importance you desire will be hidden in the front room, underneath the table. All you have to do is unscrew the table and move it to reveal the hidden trapdoor. Once again I plea…"
After reading the letter, Sunny sat down, depressed by what the letter said. Zipp said for her to forget about it. Zipp looked at the bottom of the table to see if the screws were still there. To Zipp's surprise, all the screws were still intact. Zipp unsuccessfully tried to unscrew the screws from the table. Using magic, Izzy was able to get the screws out, one at a time. They opened the trapdoor and found an old dusty box. Pulling out the box, they looked for a way to open it. The box didn't seem to have a lock or an opening. While Izzy was levitating the box,bsh accidently dropped it. As it hit the ground, the sides started to rotate. Zipp quickly grabbed it and started rotating the box's sides until it opened. Inside was a misshapen crystal that was yellow with pink fragments attached. When Sunny and Izzy tried to touch the crystal, the crystal shocked them. When Zipp picked it up, nothing happened. Zipp looked closely and saw that it had something sparkling in the center of the crystal. Zipp carefully put the crystal in one of her bags, she figured she would ask the Alicorns about it. Meanwhile, the storm had stopped and the three ponies made their way back outside and continued their journey until nightfall. The next morning was beautiful as dew droplets dropped from trees and birds sang. All three ponies woke up refreshed. After stretching, the ponies walked until about noon, where they reached a hill overlooking a castle I'm the distance, sparkling lake, and lush fields and forests. The ponies looked at each other and smiled, they had reached their destination, the land of the Alicorns.
Hitch was having a bad day. He had spent almost all day telling Unicorns and Pegasi all the rules of Maretime Bay's laws and by-laws. The Unicorns kept trying to recycle everything and the Pegasi threw everything away. To make matters worse, Sprout was gossiping about how only Earth Ponies should be allowed in Maretime Bay. When Hitch finally had time to grab something to eat, Queen Haven landed right in front of him and asked, "Have you seen my sweet little Pipp?"
"No," Hitch said, "I've been so busy today, I haven't noticed anypony."
"I haven't found her anywhere, and she's not answering her phone," Queen Haven said, worry showing on her face, "I think she's gone after Sunny!"
"Ma'am," Hitch said, sipping his drink, "I think you're overreacting."
At that moment, Phyllis came around the corner and said, "Sheriff Hitch! I just saw Pipp fly into the woods!"
"You gotta be kidding me," Hitch muttered, knowing he wouldn't be able to get any rest. Pointing at Queen Haven, Hitch said, "While I'm gone, retrieving Pipp, you look after the town, and make sure no wars start." Hitch quickly rounded up some ponies and made their way to the woods. They easily found the trail that Sunny took and assumed Pipp went on it.
Meanwhile, Pipp was having the time of her life. She had thought of several great song ideas and was having such a good time, she accidentally went off the trail. When she realized that she was off, she quickly backtracked to the trail. At that point, it was starting to get dark. After a good night's sleep, Pipp woke up refreshed and continued along the path. She hadn't gotten very far when it started to rain. Pipp quickly found shelter in a cave to wait out the storm. While waiting out the storm, Pipp started to sing. She quickly lost track of time and didn't realize when the storm ended. When she finally stopped singing, she turned to see Hitch and his posse.
"Uh… How long have you been there?" Pipp asked.
"Long enough," Hitch answered, "Besides, your mom is worried about you. We need to head back now."
Pipp sat down and said, "You can't make me go back."
Sighing, Hitch said, "We can do this for days, doesn't matter what you think, but one way or another, you will be brought back to Maretime Bay." Eventually, after an hour, they convinced Pipp to come back. At that point, darkness had fallen, so everyone settled for the night. The next morning, Hitch, Pipp, and the posse started to head back to Maretime Bay.
It didn't take long for Izzy, Sunny, and Zipp to make their way to the castle. When they got to the castle, Sunny knocked on the door and waited for a response. After a moment Cadence opened the door and said, "Hi, you must be the ponies who received our letter. Please come in. Celestia, Drake, and Luna are still out playing some game and will be back soon." Cadence walked them to a room where Shining Armor and Twilight Sparkle were playing chess.
"Aha!," Twilight said, "Checkmate. I win, again, for the 54,471st time." After Twilight proceeded to try a victory celebration, Izzy, Sunny, and Zipp introduced themselves to the three Alicorns in the room. About twenty or so minutes later, Celestia, Drake, and Luna walked into the castle.
"I'm telling you Tia," Luna said, "I am quite certain that you didn't 'tag us'. You lightly touched me, and then proceeded to tackle our brother out of the sky."
"Calm down Luna," Drake said, "It doesn't matter. You won almost every game we played."
"And not to mention that you literally stole my cake to see if it would float," Celestia said, "I made that cake just for eating, not floating." After Celestia finished speaking, the three siblings noticed the three guests. Sunny and Zipp did a double take at the Alicorns appearances. All three Alicorns had some dirt on their legs, and bits of twigs and nests in their manes.
They didn't have time to think about it, when Luna shouted in her Royal Canterlot Voice, "YES! WE HAVE WON THE BET TIA! NOW WE GET TO HAVE ALL YOUR CAKE FOR A MONTH! THOU SHOULD'VE LISTENED TO US."
"Fine," Celestia said, "you were right, but calm down. I'm pretty sure you're about to give our guests a heart attack.
"Sorry for my sister's enthusiasm," Drake said, "Luna is very competitive, so itales for interesting game nights."
"And for the pranking of Tia and Discord," Luna chimed, "We will not be outdone this year."
"Anyway," Drake said, "Give us a minute and we'll be ready to hear your story." After the Alicorns cleaned up, they came back to hear Sunny's story of bringing magic back.
"So," Twilight said, "Tell us about yourselves and your adventure."
"Ooh," Luna said, "and forget your journey here. We want to hear every second of it." So Izzy, Sunny, and Zipp took turns telling the Alicorns on how they brought magic back. When they were done telling the story, Sunny had some questions.
"When we went into the abandoned fortress on our way here, we saw a letter that talked about a battle between Pegasi and Unicorns. Why would ponykind attack each other, I thought they didn't do that," Sunny asked, "And why did they split?"
"Well, they're still split Sunny," Drake said, "All three kinds are scattered across Equestria. About them splitting, Twilight can tell you more about that." All eyes turned to Twilight as she began to talk about trying to hold Equestria together.
"After I made the crystals, ponies got greedy and split up. The crystals drove them apart. They fought each other to an extent that magic was taken away. Afterwards, they started to worry about their own survival." The news saddened Sunny, who was convinced that all ponies never fought each other. Drake's next comments didn't help on her mood.
"If all ponykind can't be reunited, and able to live peacefully with each other, there is a possibility that magic could be lost again. This time for good, if another war broke our. I think the best option would be to gather as many leaders as possible to come to an agreement to see if they can live on peace with one another," Drake said, aware of what could happen, if it all went south.
"How would we do that?" Zipp asked.
"You have magic now," Celestia said, "Use it to send letters to all pony leaders across Equestria."
"That would be impossibl," Sunny said, "how could we do that "
"Well," Twilight said, "We never thought magic would return, and yet, here we are. As far as sending letters go, Celestia can teach you the spell. If you can bring magic back, surely you can reunite all of ponykind." As the conversation was drawing to a clos, Zipp pulled out the disfigured crystal and started to look at it closely.
Drake noticed Zipp and asked, "What's that? I've never seen anything like that."
"I don't know," Zipp answered, "I assumd you would know."
"Did you make this Twilight?" Drake asked, calling Twilight over.
After looking it over, Twilight said, "I didn't make this, but I recognize those colors, I might know who did. Follow me." Everyone followed Twilight out of the castle towards two trees where a hammock hung.
"DISCORD!!!" Twilight shouted as she approached the hammock.
"WHAT?!?" Discord replied. As Discord said this, he took off a pair of earbuds blasting rock and roll, turned off a bright lamp, and put a fancy suit on. Discord looked at Twilight and asked, "Don't I get the right to sleep when I want?"
"No," Twilight responded before saying, "We were wondering If you knew what this was." Twilight pointed at the crystal.
"We?" Discord said before noticing Izzy, Sunny, and Zipp, "Why didn't you tell me we had company. I wasn't expecting company till tomorrow, I was sure that the storm would've delayed them."
Luna heard Discord and said, "So it was you who conjured up that storm. Discord we had thought you were reformed. No matter, we still won the bet. So you owe us the pleasure of making us a delectable dinner for a week."
Zipp whispered to Drake asking, "Why does she talk like that sometimes?"
Whispering back, Drake said, "That's how she used to speak. She hasn't gotten over it yet."
"Guys!" Twilight said, "Stop talking. Discord, can you tell us what this crystal is?"
"Of course I can, Discord said, "It's a puzzle. You solve it and you have the ability to live forever. It's very easy to understand." Discord, now in a lab outfit, pointed to a large chalkboard, covered in numerous complicated equations, "But that's beside the point. To simplify it, that crystal contains some of Fluttershy's soul. After solving that puzzle, my dear Fluttershy will pop into existence. After I gave that to her to solve, somepony stole it from her. She was so sad she lost my gift to stay friends forever. But now, it's possible again!"
"How many did you make?" Drake asked.
"I made one for each of the main six, except for Twilight, since she became an immortal Alicorn," Discord said, "Only Rarity was given one, because she begged me. Then somepony stole hers as well. Applejack and Rainbow Dash didn't want one, but their crystal are somewhere lost in Equestria. I think I put those under Celestia's old bed in Canterlot, next to her secret stash of cake."
"Hey!" Celestia shouted, "No pony needs to know that!"
"So that's how you didn't lose weight during your final years of ruling," Luna said, "You were busy stuffing yourself with secret stashes of cake."
"So how do you solve the crystal?" Zipp asked.
"Well, for each crystal, whatever kind of pony they were, that same kind of pony can solve that particular crystal," Discord said. At that point, it was starting to become dark. The Alicorns invitd their guests to stay the night.
"We would be honored if you also helped us with some traditional activities that we have before bed," Luna said, giving the three ponies a wink.
"Sister, no. Remember last time," Celestia said, glaring at Luna.
"Really?" Sunny said, lighting up, "Of course we'll help!" Celestia shook her head as she knew what would happen next. About fifteen minutes later, Izzy, Sunny, and three Alicorns had been knocked out during a vicious pillow fight. Only Celestia, Luna, and Zipp were left.
"THOU HAS DONE AN HONORABLE FEAT OF LASTING THIS LONG YOUNG PEGASUS, BUT NOW MEET YOUR ANCESTORS AFTER YOU MEET MY PILLOW'S WRATH!!!" Luna shouted at Zipp, who was barely conscious.
Celestia, who wasn't participating in the pillow fight, tried to convince the over competitive Luna to calm down. That ended with Celestia being knocked to the ground by a pillow going the speed of light. Zipp looked at the now unconscious princess of the sun before being knocked out by a fluffy purple pillow flying at her. Luna celebrated her victory and woke up the rest of the Alicorns and treated their bruises. For Izzy, Sunny, and Zipp, they used their magic to heal them and teleport them to a guest bedroom till morning.
The next morning, Izzy, Sunny, and Zipp woke up feeling really refreshed, despite the fact they got creamed in a pillow fight the night before. During breakfast, Sunny talked to the Alicorns about reuniting all ponykind.
"In all my years ruling," Twilight said, "I know that Pegasi are the most loyal kind, if they have a ruler or authority above them, they usually follow their orders. So if you have one of the above, the Pegasi should be easy to sway."
"Earth Ponies will be concerned for their kind's survival," Celestia said, "To convince them to reunite, you would have to convince both Pegasi and Unicorns to live in peace with one another. If you can do that, I don't think you'll have a problem." Celestia then grabbed a piece of cake, only for it to teleport away.
"Remember our agreement sister," Luna said, "We get all of your cake for a month." Celestia grumbled, remembering the bet she lost to Luna.
"Out of all three ponykind," Drake said, continuing to talk about reuniting ponykind, "Unicorns will be the most difficult to convince. Their kind has the most variety of societies of the other two. Also, they are some of the most stubborn ponies you'll ever meet, at least with my experience. I don't know how many times I had to tell Rarity that I wasn't going to go out with her. But that's beside the point. Unicorns only care for themselves and will wreck any plans with a mistake."
After discussing some more with the Alicorns, Sunny had one last question for the Alicorns before headed back towards Maretime Bay.
"Is it true that your siblings forced you to rise the sun and moon for the first ten years of your retirement?" Sunny asked.
"Yes it's true, but I couldn't have any cake during that time either," Celestia said. Then after some more discussion, Sunny and her friends left the Alicorns.
When they returned to Maretime Bay, Sunny went to the lighthouse to start working on a plan to reunite ponykind. Hitch went over to see how the meeting with the Alicorns went. Zipp found Pipp and Queen Haven and told them about the meeting. And Izzy, she went to the lighthouse to find glitter for a project. When Pipp and Zipp got to Maretime Bay to help Sunny, Zipp gave Pipp the crystal to see if Pipp could solve it. For several minutes, Pipp tried to open the crystal with no luck. Getting angry she scrambled it. When she looked at it, it was more complete than when she was trying. After twelve more minutes, Pipp finally solved the crystal. The final form was a crystalized Fluttershy, which started to glow. The next thing Pipp and Zipp knew, there was a surprised Fluttershy standing there! Fluttershy looked at her surroundings, started to hyperventilate, and screamed. Almost every window shattered in Maretime Bay. Hitch and Sunny quickly ran from the lighthouse to see what was going on. They quickly spotted the scared and timid Fluttershy, who was darting left and right. They finally cornered her and tried to calm her down.
"Whe…whe…where am I?" Fluttershy asked, but was speaking so softly no one heard her.
"What did you say, we couldn't hear you," Sunny said softly, "We're not going to hurt you."
"Where…where am I?" Fluttershy asked again, barely loud enough for Sunny to hear.
"You're in Maretime Bay," Sunny said. Sunny was able to coax Fluttershy out of her corner and told Pipp to watch her while Sunny looked something up in the lighthouse. After a few minutes, Fluttershy started to pester Pipp with questions about the world around her and about technology. After about twenty or so questions, Pipp got tired of questions and flew off, only to be asked more questions by Fluttershy, who followed her. Pipp then lost Fluttershy and started to head to the lighthouse.
Back at the lighthouse, Sunny was going through the remaining books her father had about the main six. There weren't many remaining after the lighthouse collapsed before restoring magic. While Sunny was going through books, Phyllis came in and said, "SUNNY! Canterlogic has been overrun with animals and we need your help!" When they got to Canterlogic, they saw the building overrun with all sorts of critters, and in the middle of it all was Fluttershy. She was telling the animals stories of her friends and also stories of Angel, her best friend. When Phyllis and Sunny approached Fluttershy, she asked, "Oh, do you want to listen to stories of Angel as well? He was such a sweet bunny."
"As much as I would like to," Sunny said, "I can't, this is a business, not an animal shelter. Also how were you talking to animals, that's amazing!"
"I've always been able to talk to animals," Fluttershy said, "I'm sure they won't mind moving out of the building. Come little friends, we need to go now." Both Phyllis and Sunny watched in wonder as all the animals followed Fluttershy out of the building. When Sunny went back to the lighthouse, she left Queen Haven in charge of Fluttershy. When Sunny returned to the lighthouse, she saw Pipp recording herself on her phone.
"Pipp," Sunny said, "Why did you leave Fluttershy alone?"
"Because she was asking more questions than a press conference," Pipp replied, "It was getting exhausting, you know I don't have time to answer a lot of questions." Sunny shook her head and had Pipp gather her friends to the lighthouse. When all her friends were together, Sunny started to make a plan to reunite all ponykind.
"It has to be in an open space," Hitch said, "So there will be room for all who show up." Sunny agreed and after looking at old Equestrian maps, she finally found a spot to gather all ponykind representatives. After that, they started to work on a plan. After about close to two hours, Sunny finally had a plan and a speech that she felt could reunite ponykind. While she was working on her speech, she heard a timid voice speak behind her.
"It's an ok plan, but there's too many grammatical errors, the Unicorns will rip you to shreds," Fluttershy said, "and then Pegasi will want some form of ownership to mountains and other high places." Realizing that Fluttershy could help her, Sunny talked with Fluttershy until Sunny came up with a plan and a speech that she liked. Then with Izzy's help, Sunny sent invitations to all pony leaders throughout Equestria, to meet where Ponyville used to exist. Several weeks later Sunny brought her friends, Fluttershy, Queen Haven, and Alphabittle to the meeting place with her, as proof that ponies could live in peace with one another. As they approached, Sunny couldn't believe her eyes when she saw hundreds of Earth Ponies, Pegasi and Unicorns gathered. Sunny took a deep breath, calmed herself, and walked towards the ponies.
As Sunny and her friends walked towards all the ponies, they noticed how diverse all the ponies were. Almost every Unicorn was wearing different eras of fashion, Earth Ponies were ranging from small to large, and Pegasi were mostly wearing specially designed clothes, with the exception of a few wearing stained lab coats. As they got to the large gathering area that they would discuss about bringing all of Equestria together, three Alicorns flew overhead and landed within the ponies. Sunny immediately went over to them.
"Drake, Luna, Twilight? What are you doing here?" Sunny asked.
"We're here to act as crowd control," Luna said.
"We don't want a fight happening here," Drake said, "It would be a disaster." After that, the Alicorns gathered everypony up to start. After several days, and one minor skirmish between some drunk Earth Ponies, all the leaders decided it was time for Equestria to reunite. Most of the Unicorns were not pleased with the lack of dominance of being leaders of fashion, being unable to be prominent in every town and other things, now that Earth Ponies and Pegasi had some fashion leaders and some incredible singers, and had their own leading figures. Pegasi were pretty quick to agree since Queen Haven was there with Sunny. Earth Ponies were borderline but agreed to rejoin, seeing that there was no more hostility between ponies. After it was all over, Sunny and her friends went to talk with the Alicorns, who were about to leave.
"Well, Sunny," Twilight said, "how did you think it went?"
"I think it went GREAT!" Sunny said, "Dad's dream of reuniting Equestria finally happened!"
"We're happy for you," Luna said, "but you have to make sure that all ponykind stays together. There will be ponies who probably aren't happy with some of the agreements and you'll have to work that out."
Twilight noticed Fluttershy with Sunny and flew at Fluttershy and gave her a hug, happy to see a friend after so long. Twilight then invited Fluttershy to come with them, since Discord was there. Fluttershy agreed to come and waved goodbye to Sunny and her friends as she flew off with the Alicorns.
When Sunny and her friends came back to Maretime Bay, she shared the news with all the town. Pipp announced that she would have a concert in celebration. While Pipp worked on planning her concert, far away some Unicorn leaders had gathered together in secret. Outside of Unicorns in Bridlewood, Unicorns had become very prideful and thought that they were superior. So it displeased most of the Unicorn leaders when they heard that all of ponykind was to be treated on an equal level. This idea offended all the highest Unicorn leaders, so some of them worked together to come up with a plan to destroy Maretime Bay and prove that they were the superior pony. It didn't take them long to think of a plan and gather an army of Unicorns, before heading towards Maretime Bay. After planning for a couple of days, Pipp finally announced that her concert was ready. For the next two days, ponies helped build a giant stage outside Maretime Bay for Pipp's performance. When the day for Pipp's performance arrived, ponies were flocking to the stage hours early. Meanwhile the Unicorn army was starting to get close to Maretime Bay. Queen Haven who was flying over to Pipp's performance noticed the army. When she landed she quickly made her way to Sunny.
"Sunny," Queen Haven said to Sunny, "There is an army of Unicorns coming this way, we have to stop this and prepare to defend Maretime Bay." Sunny was shocked about the news, and didn't know what to do. Hitch immediately went to the crowd and told them about the situation and for all of them to go to Maretime Bay to help prepare.
"Sunny," Zipp said, "Do you think the Alicorns can help?"
"I don't know, but it can't hurt to try," Sunny said. Zipp quickly flew off.
It was starting to become dark when the Unicorn army came to the outskirts of Maretime Bay.
"Commander," A Unicorn officer said, "Should we attack now?"
"No," The Unicorn Commander said, "The great and powerful one wants to attack during the day, so the ponies can see who is leading their demise."
Meanwhile, in the middle of the night, Zipp arrived at the Alicorns castle, completely worn out from the flight, and started to knock on the door. A few moments later, Luna opened the door.
"What is it?" Luna asked, concerned about Zipp. Zipp tried to answer, but was so out of breath, all she could do was make incoherent sounds. Luna led Zipp inside and got Zipp some water to drink.
"Hopefully this will allow you to tell us what's going on," Luna said.
"There's an army of Unicorns heading to Maretime Bay, and we don't know what to do," Zipp said quickly.
"WHAT?!?!?" Luna said in the royal voice, waking every creature in a five mile radius.
"Luna!" Celestia said from up in her room, "Be quiet!" Luna, displeased, teleported to Celestia's room and some shouting was heard. Minutes later, all the Alicorns left the castle and started to fly towards Maretime Bay. Zipp suddenly found herself teleported to a bar, where Discord appeared.
"Is there anything I can get you to drink princess?" Discord asked.
Meanwhile, when the sun started to shine, the Unicorn army grabbed all of their gear and quickly formed up. In Maretime Bay, all the ponies were finishing putting barricades up and turning anything metal sharp. The ponies desperately used anything and everything they could find to barricade the town, but knew it wouldn't hold at all. The unicorn watches the ponies and laughed, knowing that they would destroy the pathetic defense. The head of unicorn army met with the Unicorn Commander.
“Oh and great and powerful one”, The unicorn said, bowing down, “The ponies have been trying to fortify themselves, which will be in vain. Their defenses are pitiful.”
“Good”, The Unicorn Commander said, “Then it'll be a very sweet victory.” The Unicorn Commander walked out of her tent with the head of the army right behind her. Her skin showed several old scars across her pale blue body, and she wore an eye patch over her right eye, and wore a shining black amulet around her neck. the unicorn scanned Maretime Bay's defense, “You may attack when you wish, they won't last long.” The unicorn nodded and proceeded to make his way to the Unicorn army. The Unicorn head officer gathered up all the unicorns and they all grabbed their weapons and started to walk towards Maretime Bay. As the Unicorn army got closer, they started to run, lowering their weapons. When the Unicorn army got close enough to see each individual pony, the Alicorns flew in from above the forest. The ponies in Maretime Bay cheered at the sight of the Alicorns, and several Unicorn soldiers stopped in their tracks. The remaining unicorns charged the Alicorns, who started to fly at them. As they got closer, more Unicorn soldiers stopped and started to run away. A magical barrier appeared in front of the Alicorns, acting as a plow, as they flew right through the small remnant of the Unicorn army. Only a few soldiers decided to charge the Alicorns They didn't get far before they were all levitated by the Alicorns. Shining Armor saw some of the Unicorn officers teleporting away, but was too concerned with the problem at hoof. The Alicorns gathered up most of the remaining Unicorn army and discussed what to do with the Unicorns. Celestia was the first to speak, “To the moon!” Luna facehoofed, “Really? That's your first idea. That really can't be your only solution?” Celestia just shrugged, which caused Luna to fly herself at Celestia. Both of them were eventually separated by Drake and Twilight. Twilight offered to let Sunny give the Alicorns her thoughts. Sunny wished to discuss it with her friends. Celestia said, “Don't forget. We can send them to the moon.” A pop was heard and Celestia disappeared in a flash of light. Luna smiled and said she had waited moons for that moment. After a few minutes and Celestia's recovery, Sunny had come up with a decision.
“Well, we came to the decision for those who recognized their mistake and fled, that they can stay and learn how to be friends. But for those who still craved violence, they should leave Equestria”, Sunny said.
“A good idea, but could take time to implement”, Drake said.
“We're no longer the rulers”, Twilight said.
“We don't hold the power to make ponies do what we say anymore”, Cadance said, “You'll have to do it with the help of your friends.”
“Seeing that the crystals actually ended up causing problems, it might seem to be the best course of action to destroy them”, Twilight said, “I couldn't live with myself causing every pony to lose magic again.”
“You can't do that!” Sunny exclaimed, “We'll lose magic again.” Sunny positioned herself in-between the Alicorns and the stones. Sunny watched helplessly as the crystals appeared around Twilight. The crystals were sent high into the air, where they were blasted by all the Alicorns, destroying the crystals. The Alicorns used their magic to teleport Zipp back. The Alicorns left the ponies, planning to keep an eye on Equestria moving forward.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the sea across from Maretime Bay, the Unicorn Commander looked through a telescope.
“What have you found over here?” The commander asked.
“Hopefully something that can be of use”, An officer said, showing off a family looking blue diamond, that has multiple moving parts.
