Prince Ben looked at his parents in shock. “Mom, dad. This is my choice. I’ve chosen... Maleficent’s 2 kids, Jafar’s 2 sons, Eil Queen’s daughter and Cruella’s son. I know that the rest of the group are inseperable, so they are going too. You know, they may actually like it here!”
Queen Belle sighed. “Ben, look. These kids you speak of, where are they from?”
“Canterlot, 4 days away from here. A lovely place. A high school, magic. What more?”
“I thought that was in Equestria,” said Belle. “Maybe I was wrong.”
“Mom! But- but I grew up in the library, I spent my WHOLE life there!” cried Ben. “If you’re wrong, I’m wrong too.”
“You’re a smart lad,” said his father, King Beast, Also known as King Adam, patting his son on the back. “But are you sure this is the correct choice?”
Being the daughter of Hades is rather difficult, isn’t it? That’s me. Yeah. Mal and I. No one but Evie and our closest friends know. I mean, he’s the god of death, for heaven’s sake! Anyway, I watched my sister and her friends from the window. I stood next to Maleficent, my step-mother.
Mal was spraying the walls with LONG LIVE EVIL. Then she started singing.
“They say I’m trouble, They say I’m bad They say I’m evil,”
She looked at me with a smile. “And that makes us glad!” we said together
A boy with long brown hair sneaked up behind her. Mal laughed.
“ A dirty no-good,” replied Jay. “Down to the bone, Your worst nightmare,”
He winked at Soarin’. “Can’t take me home”
Rarity walked with Evie, hand in hand. “So we’ve got some naughtiness, In our blood,” sang Rarity
“Can you blame me?” sang Evie. “Mom never cared a damn about me!”
Carlos came in, with Fluttershy on his back. “Um, Carlos, can you put me down please?” she asked gently.
“WE FEEL SO USELESS!” we shouted. “MISUNDERSTOOD!”
I ran down to join my sister and Rarity. “Mirror, mirror, on the wall,” Rarity and I sang
“Who’s the baddest of them all?” Evie and Mal sang
“Step into our wicked world,” everyone sang. “Wicked world!”
“Wicked world.” repeated Twilight. “Wicked?! Sunset, you’re a hero, not a villain!”
I smirked. “I know that, Twi. But my family are villains. My dad is Hades. My mom is Celestia. That explains why I was evil at CHS! It explains! I’m half-evil!”
“This is bad, Sunset. You and Mal. You’re Half-bloods. We’re all one. I’m Athene’s daughter.”
“I’m Hades’s daughter.” I said in a deadpan tone.
“Yeah, and the big 3 Gods weren’t supposed to have kids after WW 2! Hades broke the rules!” screamed Twilight
I glanced at Mal. “You know what this means?” asked Twilight, glaring at me.
I crossed my arms. “What?”
“It means this summer, Mal, Evie, Jay, Carlos, you, me, the mane 5, Flash, Trixie, Soarin’ and Wallflower all have to go to camp half-blood. I’ve been going there since I was seven. Trust me.”
“Seriously?” asked Mal. “We have to go to a camp every holiday?”
“AWESOME!” shouted Rainbow Dash.
“YES, INDEEDILY!” shouted Pinkie Pie.
“URGH, Twilight. I have no brothers or sisters. I’ve just met my family.”
“I gave him a love potion!” whispered Mal. “I need that wand!”
“You know you’ve could’ve asked me,” I said. “I’m used to stealing, and I am an expert.”
“Yeah. I know. But you’re too good.”
“Am not!” I retorted.
“You are.”
“I was a bully at CHS.” I sighed. “I did tell you my past, didn’t I? That’s why we moved here. When Wallflower erased my memories, she made everyone think I had gone back to my old ways. Only Trixie believed me, and we worked together.”
“Mal, are you coming?” shouted Jay. “The match is about to start!”
“Sunset, wait up!” shouted Flash, running after me. I turned. “I know the last time we went on a date at the park, it was a disaster. I’m sorry! Why don’t we go to the enchanted lake for our date tomorrow?”
“Okay.” I said. Little did I know that my sister and Ben would be there too.
“So tell me a little about yourself,” said Ben. “My middle name is Bertha,” said Mal. “My mom being totally evil, just doing what she does!”
Mal fake laughed.
They stepped onto the ring, where Flash and I were sat.
“Oh, hey, Flash.” said Ben. “You on a date too?”
“Trying to convince Sunset. We’ve been an item since... well, for a long time.”
“Same here.” said Ben. “Trying to convince Mal.”
“And it’s not working.” they said in unison.
“Sunset is stubborn. She gets it from her dad. Her mom said he was stubborn too.”
“Mal’s the same,” said Ben sympathetically.
“Has Sunset tried strawberries?” he asked, still looking at Flash.
Today was parent weekend and Windy Whistles and Bow Hothoof, Rainbow’s parents were coming to visit along with Maud Pie, Pinkie’s elder sister and Marble Pie, Pinkie’s twin sister. Mal’s mom wouldn’t come- she was on the Isle, and would wreak havoc on Auradon. “Rainbow Dash! How’s my little sweetie pie pudding?”
“Mom!” cried Rainbow Dash. “Not in front of the whole school!”
Pinkie barrelled up to Marble and Maud. “Maudie! Marble! I’m so glad to see you!” she cried.
Flash slipped his arm under mine. “Come on, Sunset. Let’s leave Dash’s parents to adore her.”
“Jane, wait up!” shouted Carlos. “Jane, please! Your hair, what have you done to it? Maybe Rarity can fix it!”
Jane turned. “Hey, Carlos. That would be lovely.” said Jane. “Tomorrow, I’ll ask her.”
“Hide me!” shouted Rainbow Dash, coming behind us. “My parents are trying to embarrass me!”
“That’s what parents do,” I said. “My mom always used to embarrass me as a filly. I had an older brother. My mom had him with Discord.”
“When I was just a filly, I found it rather silly,” I sang To see how many other ponies I could meet I had my books to read, didn't know that I would ever need Other ponies to make my life complete
But there was one colt that I cared for I knew he would be there for me
My big brother, best friend forever! Like two peas in a pod, we did everything together
He taught me how to fly a kite (Best friend forever!) We never had a single fight (We did everything together!) We shared our hopes, we shared our dreams I miss him more than I realized It seems...,”
“Your big brother, best friend forever Like two peas in a pod, you did everything together,”sang Flash and Rainbow
“And though he's, oh, so far away,” I replied pensively “I hoped that he would stay My big brother best friend Forever... Forever...,”
“Oh.” said Rainbow Dash. “I’m sorry.”
“ ‘skay,” I replied. “I am the element of empathy after all.”
Rainbow laughed. “Here they come.”
“Rainboooow!” cooed Windy Whistles. “Your father and I are going to gooooo!
“Good riddance!” muttered Rainbow under her breath. “They fuss over me too much.”
Windy and Bow left the grounds with Maud and Marble.
Rainbow wiped the sweat that was building up on her forehead off. “Phew! They’ve gone! Now it’s the coronation!”
Evie and Rarity ushered Mal into the carriage, as Ben helped her up.
“Ben. I- I spelled you.” Mal confessed.
Ben smiled at her. “I know, all enchantment washes off in the lake. Flash and Sunset knew all along.” He smiled at her, encouragingly, as the carriage stopped at the doors. Lumiere took her hand, while he stepped into a pair of double doors.
A fanfare played, as the villains watched from their TV on the Isle. As the wand was taken out, the tip resting on Ben’s shoulders, as he was knighted to be the new king. Then, someone grabbed it. The wand. I gasped, it was Jane.
“Jane!” I cried. “Hand over the wand!”
It was too late. The wand opened a tiny bit of the barrier and Maleficent escaped. I grabbed the wand off Jane, threw it to Mal. Who wobbled, and Maleficent caught it. “I’m back!” she sang, freezing all the royals. Mal reached out to grab the wand, but I clicked my fingers, to command the wand in my hand. I gave it to Mal. Then the screaming started.
maleficent rose, green smoke rising with her, as she turned into a huge scary dragon. She chased after Jay, who was caught by Rainbow Dash. I gritted my teeth. I didn’t want to do this again. But I had to. My cyan eyes flashed red, briefly, as red smoke rose from me, my old form, my she demon. My hands, turned to claws, my teeth turned to great long fangs. I beat my blood-red bat like wings, rising into the air, against my step-mother, Mal’s mother, my enemy. I had to do this. For my sister, for my friends, and for Auradon. The advantage of being a she-demon, an empousai, is that I had magic.
Once upon a time, i used this magic to kill Princess Twilight. Now, i’m using this magic for good. To help my friends.
Maleficent breathed fire at me, but I shot powerful magic straight back at her. I loved it, the thrill, just to have a bit of power. I always fought back, always stood up for my friends, and now, my family.
I was weakening. Mal ran forward with the wand. “Sunset, go!” she cried. “This is a mother-daughter talk.”
Mal looked at her mother with determination. “Sunset, just keep fighting!” she cried. “Try to hold her off.”
I beat strong gusts of wind with my wings, sending Maleficent back. “Mom.” said Mal.”I don’t want to be ruthless or cruel like you. I choose good!”
I hit a magical ball of golden light at Maleficent, then at the royals. Maleficent turned into this minute lizard, trapped under the top of the glass case that held the wand. The royals unfroze, as I landed, red smoke rising, as I turned back into a human girl.
“That. Was. AWESOME!” shouted Rainbow Dash, giving me hug.
“I didn’t know you could do that,” said Twilight.
“Neither did I,” I admitted. “Mom told me I had special powers, but she didn’t know what. I think she meant I could turn into an empousai and Daydream Shimmer at will.”
We were singing and dancing. Carlos helped Jane up, and they danced together. Evie and Doug grinned, before joining in. And Flash and I? We sat on a bench, engrossed in one thing that Flash and I did a lot. We kissed passionately.
